I'm not gonna tag this as anything related to it, but Bridget "discourse" makes me really uncomfortable

A fictional trans girl very blatantly coming out causing so much backlash and debate is just a constant reminder that there's a very large group of people that hate the fact that I exist

I love Bridget positivity posts! Bridget herself is a wonderful character and I love seeing the random pictures and fanart of her floating around on my dash.

But the day it was announced? There was no way I could've been fast enough to purge the almost constant stream of vitriol against Bridget being a girl that flooded almost every social media I bothered to be on.

It's been legitimately affecting my mood lately and I don't know how to get rid of the feeling.

If Bridget isn't allowed to just be a girl without half the internet furiously trying to deny her womanhood, what chance do I have?
