god.... i wanna figure out what would finally make rodaine just have a straight up breakdown. I think he came pretty close after losing Jowan but also because he was in the middle of all the shit that had to be done he didn’t let himself break down? his catchphrase that i have given him in my noodling about with writing him is “endure or die” and he’s firmly in the camp that dying simply isn’t an option so really it’s just “endure”

I can’t figure out what it might be that would send him over the edge and make him just fuckin. cry.

#rodaine amell #he's a tough nut to crack #i think it might be like. actual genuine kindness from someone #like. he loves his friends etc but most of the time he is doing something for someone else so it's at least reciprocal #if not him just. actively doing something for someone without anything in return #which is fine! he likes doing good things for people when he can because he's a genuinely sweet guy once you get past the rbf #but no one has ever done anything for him that was 100% selfless and i think if that eever happened he would start blubbering #alternatively #being reunited with his siblings after all this time only to discover that one or more of them have been made tranquil #or killed etc #even then tho i feel like he'd be more enraged than weepy.#i just want rodaine to cry is that too much to ask
