I wanted to make bios for Wyneer's masks WEEKS ago to formally introduce them but I've had no time. So, here's the ref sheets I've been using for Art Fight for all of the masks who have portrait art so far.

I hope this helps people who hadn't been introduced them yet understand them a bit better! (And if it doesn't - ask me about them!)

Don't think about Wyneer's masks as alternate personalities. Think of them more as his OCs that he spontaneously manifested into existence via his masks.

I'll talk about each one a little more under the cut.

Fright is the first mask Wyneer made, and acts appropriately scuffed. Constantly throttled by adrenaline, he spends his time having non-stop panic attacks and sobbing his way through awkward social interactions. He chills out when Enlightened... but not by very much. He often wonders if Wyneer made him poorly as a joke.

Lay is just a normal hardworking guy from the South, which begs the question of how he got here, or why he can't remember his name or where he comes from, or what happened to him that he's like this. His stoic and workaholic nature belies an anxious mind that is desperately trying to remember itself... or wonder if there's truly anything to remember at all.

Brave is a tactician who hails from a distant time. Though he looks fierce, he is affable towards fellow Survivors and is very easy to impress. While he is intelligent, there are some things that elude his archiac understanding of the world. He rarely talks, but his speech tends to be poetic when he does. The markings Wyneer drew on his mask bear little significance to him personally.

Boutey was designed to be a leader, and accomplishes it via manipulation. Though he puts on a front of ditzy, cutesy helplessness, he is extremely intelligent and narcissistic. He believes all people are as 'fake' as he is and rarely trusts others. If he becomes fond of an intensely trusting person, he can sometimes become protective of them, fearing others will take advantage of them.

Crimson is loud, dim-witted, obnoxious, and incredibly vain... but loves with his whole heart and is unfailingly supportive to his friends. He is good to vent to if you need metaphorical advice that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. His pyrokinetic powers are tied to his emotions, so Wyneer made him mostly unable to feel anger; something that privately leaves Crimson weirded out.

Azure routinely sets himself on fire to keep others warm. He worries extensively about the wellbeing of those around him, and despises people who are bullies. He tends to bottle up his emotions and lash out when pushed to his limit. He speaks with a Minnesotan accent, but does not remember where he comes from. He considers the other gem masks to be his family and is often apologising for their behaviour.

Blake is lost in his own little world. The arrangement of gems on his mask has caused him to become attuned to an incomprensible garble of otherworldly noise that he claims is the voice of his gods. He is rarely emotive (when not jubilliant), fears nothing, has no grasp of personal space, and often speaks in complete nonsense with the impassioned maner of a preacher. He cares for no one but Wyneer - whom he refers to as his 'host.' He has an uncomfortably clingy fascination with people who work with shadow or lunar magic. Whoever Blake was when Wyneer first made him has been gone for a very long time.

Saffron's mask was created by Blake during an attempt at refining Wyneer's designs. Saffron's magical abilities are more refined, but his body suffers heavily as a result. He is constantly charged with magic from his gems and is extremely irritable and restless if not worn out. He cares strongly about his self-image and will not allow himself to fail, and is similarly critical of others. He is kind towards younger or more anxious Survivors however, and has a playful side - especially when 'playfully' antagonising his friends... He and Blake do not get along. Not that Blake cares about him to begin with.

OK. RAMBLE TIME

My sona (Jawbreaker) is a fucked up star alien thing ! You're gonna get a little more than just what he is and inspirations and I hope you don't mind, I made a whole fucking species just for this guy's backstory LOL Stellarites are shapeshifting, celestial beings created with star energy. Their strength varies, depending on what kind of star their energy was sourced from. Jawbreaker (his actually birth name is unknown and he forgot himself) was created with the energy of a quasi star as an experiment for his overlord, Metsu. He served in their celestial empire as a royal guard, and had a close eye kept on him. He excelled compared to his peers, and was deemed spectacular at his work- the only downside was his short temper. He was constantly consulted about his attitude, and it only seemed to grow worse. He grows disobedient, to the point where he is sentenced to be shattered for his resources to be recycled. He escapes from his home planet, landing on Earth. He examines life from afar, and takes on a more humanoid form. As he lives out his days on his new home, there's something that he can't avoid now- taxes. So what's a better job to get when you used to be a guard for an intergalactic ruler? Become a hitman! This is where he obtained his helmet and his name. A couple years go by and he's considered a perfect killing machine, being able to leave such little trails behind in his work. Then, he fucks up one day. A single drop of his blood is found at a scene. This results in a huge chase for him, especially because he is extraterrestrial life. He eventually is caught, and used in government experiments. These experiments were based off the mega-structure, dyson spheres, in which they tried to extract energy out of him. He manages to escape this, takes on his current form with a repainted helmet and fresh new look, and is now a party-animal alien out on the run with a bounty on his head. (This is like, a really watered down version of his story cus if I put the whole thing here that shit would go on forever)

Going onto actually inspirations now, here's a couple !

The general design was just based off of character design aspects that I like a lot. Chunky shoes, shoulder pads, big sleeves, huge zipper- etc, etc.

The hoodie and boxers combo just comes from the fact that that is typically what I roam around in

The star eye was me trying to recycle from my old sona, but the true origin of it was it being a reference to one of my favorite musicians at the time, Grandson ^_^

The half heart locket is for my boyfriend <3

The big ol' eyebrow is just cus I have bushy eyebrows + I love big ass eyebrows

I'm gonna be honest, the hair was when I was trying to make my sona on Roblox but I obviously couldn't have my helmet, so a red base and cyan trihawk came along and it's stuck since then + I FUCKING LOVE MOHAWKS SO BAD

The blood is based off of glowstick liquid . Please trust me when I say to not eat glowsticks they do not taste good .

The colors are also kinda recycled from my old sona, but also because I fucking love red and cyan

The whole alien aspect is taken from the fact my birthday is on the same day as the Area 51 raid LMAO

THE HELMET . The helmet was a thing I scrapped from a really old oc of mine, which was kinda taken from Jasper (SU) . The addition for the jaw part was inspired by a bear trap

also these two that I use for this blog . They're obviously more jokey looking + I made it so they are both immortal beings that have existed since the dawn of time that just fuck around on Earth but yea it's also just me . but funny looking

It’s him! That’s my boy! I suck at making ref sheets and on top of being Generally Messy the main sketch here is also old as shit [and drawn entirely with the mouse] and I just cleaned it up a lot, but!! This Is My Son. [Well, one of them, at least. Russian, but moved to America and has been living there for about 6-7 years [specifically New York City]. Can speak/read/write both Russian and English basically perfectly fluently. When he feels like cussing at something [or someone], he's gonna do it in Russian.

Has a pretty bad case of hyperdontia. New supernumerary teeth are constantly growing in, and forcing the old ones out. He usually has at least some loose teeth, though he pulls them out once he can.

If he bites down hard on something that is firm enough, there's a decent chance he's gonna leave some teeth in it. He does not like apples.

His teeth didn't puncture the skin of his face all on their own; he got into an accident and a lot of that skin was torn away, so when it healed it actually healed around his displaced teeth. Now even when the teeth are removed from the holes in his cheeks, the holes will remain and new teeth will eventually just grow in the same places. He would need some kind of surgery to correct this, and he won't get it because he doesn't trust most doctors.

Moderately terrified of motorbikes, because the unfortunate face-shredding accident in question was getting sideswiped by one. The actual impact didn't do nearly as much damage as skidding across the asphalt afterwards did -- that's what ripped flesh away.

Can speak just fine, surprisingly, though does occasionally have a tiny bit of trouble with certain sounds, like rolling Rs and Os. Depends on how many teeth are in the way in specific places at any given time. Any impediment is pretty much negligible, though.

He can actually sing. He has a lovely voice, though he's a little quiet/soft.

Wears an allergy mask to hide his unfortunate dental problem. Very few people get to see him without it.

Horrible eating habits. Refuses to eat in public for obvious reasons, but Eats Fucking Everything once he gets home.

Actually does NOT usually dress like this, if left to his own devices he'd be in a pair of sweatpants and an oversized sweater [or intact hoodie]. This is basically a stage costume, his bf leads a shitty rock n' roll coverband and he's the one who convinced him to wear it.

Squishy. Took awhile before he got comfortable showing a lot of skin, he was especially reluctant to have his stomach exposed. Self-conscious about his appearance in general, actually. In spite of this, he takes really meticulous care of his hair -- figures it makes a good distraction from his face.

Has somewhat disproportionately large hands.

You know those little bead gun machines that stick sparkly shit in your hair? Those things that are like, marketed towards middle school girls and are usually Excessively Pink? He's got one and he uses it. Who says dudes can't put sparkly shit in their hair too.

He's wearing ice cleats over his shoes. Those metal spikes+shells and platforms come off, there's a fairly boring pair of black boots underneath them.

There is no reason for him to be wearing those cleats in this picture. It is clearly not wintertime if he is wearing that hoodie [or what's left of it]. He likes them and he'll wear them anyway though, if there's no reason he can't [and alas, there are usually reasons...they fuck up any floor they touch, for one.]

Knows sign language [РЖЯ]. Before the accident, just keeping his mouth shut was usually enough to hide his teeth, so he used to be selectively mute instead of wearing a mask. Always good to learn how to communicate with different people, anyway -- he has also learned a good amount of ASL.

Lives with his alcoholic mother in a small apartment, and he pays a good chunk of the rent. He works the night shift at the front desk of a pretty seedy local hotel, part-time. He would move out on his own, but he worries about his mom.

His design is based loosely on a Tolype laricis moth [barring the teeth, obviously]. That's why his hair and eyebrows are Like That.

Loves bugs and arachnids, particularly the ones most people find scary or "disgusting-looking". Three guesses why.

At certain angles his eyes look blue or purple, and at others they actually look red. He is a true albino; due to the lack of pigmentation in his irises, sometimes you can see the blood vessels behind them. It's a little startling.

He doesn't have perfect eyesight, though it's not completely horrible either -- things are a bit fuzzy and bright lights are dazzling. He won't wear glasses, but he does wear contact lenses.

His "claws" are stick-on fake nails. They're metal, and they do nothing except look fierce and make life more difficult. He only wears them when he's hanging out with the bf. It's clearly impossible to manage contacts while wearing those unless you just feel like poking an eye out.

Greatly prefers colder temperatures to warmer ones. Pretty much melts anytime it gets hotter than 75-80°F.

where do you get the courage to upload art about your ocs? I have been thinking about uploading but I am too scared that nobody will see my shitty art so why should I bother? do you have any advice? I am asking cause this blog and your art are incredable!

first of all, thank you for liking my blog and art!!but i'm afraid i'm not the right person to ask for this one because i am to this day tense whenever i upload oc art. there's also a lot of oc art i never uploaded because i am still insecure!i've mentioned it sometime before but only drawing fanart always was seriously starting to burn me out, especially with being pressured to upload regularly on social media. i'm often thinking about my time on deviantart, when i was like 11, where i shared my pokemon ocs and fursonas and shit. the same 2 or 3 people would always comment on my „original��� characters whenver i posted. i was looking forward to those 3 commenters so much, at tmes i felt like i was drawing for them, trying to get better to see their reaction, or coming up with a particularly cool-looking picture to surprise them. we even gifted each other art of our oc's hanging out, it was honestly a great time. i thought back to those times and then to the stories i've been building in my head since, and how my characters got established more and more over time. i've always knew, i wanted to tell a story someday, once i was satisfied with my own art skills (well, as satified as you can be). i've been giving these characters designs and backstories, but always on the side, so i could focus on art i could present online, fanart. it just felt so... draining after a while, only drawing other people's creations, not having your own „brand“. so, one day, when i was  having an art block again, third time this week, i thought „fuck it“ and started to post a random drawing of my ocs (i'm almost sure it was of Liz and Robin). Guess what, it got me exactly 5 notes and 2 unfollows. This didn't surprise me, but i was still upset nonetheless. „why won't they like something i worked hard on?“ Because they don't know that, and they don't know your characters. And the only way for people to know your characters is for you to draw them and then post that drawing. What got me the most feedback weren't endless ref and info sheets but drawings that just made my characters look interesting; draw them in cool scenes where they say edgy one-liners or something. Don't even explain what's going on, just make it look like something you'd like to know more of.People might find it and they might be curious. Or they won't find it. Many factors come into play, biggest of them is luck, so don't be discouraged if you only earn radio silence (and trust me, in the beginning, this will be exactly what happens). Hell, my stuff isn't even well known, my most popular oc art gets around 100 notes, and that's lucky.But that's why i post oc art; 100 notes on original art is more satisfying to me than 1000 notes on fanart.

but this is pure speculation based on tyrants "gut feeling". thanks to the information from the ruthless family, we can pinpoint when sylas became truely active..with terrifying results leading to the mass extinction of 85% of all non intelligent life forms during the human era including the human race itself. according to the family's account, they met sylas during the gold age of human life in which the race has advanced considerably in the technological field..including but not limited advance medicine and creating sentient robotic life that can reproduce. of course during this time, humans were the dominate race in the world..slamming other races such as elves into hiding and oppression. when the ruthless family has first met sylas, they could only describe the man as frail and coward like; however as we know today, that was simply a disguise to hide the mans true sadistic and manipulative nature. cyrag recruited sylas into the family since the plush saved them all from being found by a human "supernatural" taskforce. the decision to recruit sylas into the family as friend was also influenced by the fact sylas was part of the ruthless bloodline. cyrag at the time was desperate to learn more about his fluff line..he admits it was a grievous error in his part. during this time, the human world was in complete disorder, without a common foe, humans have a tendency to fight among themselves for a multitude of reasons, the most common was a superiority complex and religious dogma..especially since most of the population believed most of the other races were simply myths. sylas carefully wormed his way through the trust of lives of the family except for gunner von shotlock and tyrant anosov-ruthless. tyrant trusted his gut feeling of sylas familiarity and gunner at the time was a special investigator in the human world. but before gunner could learn the true about benedict, the unthinkable has happen.. sylas manipulated cyrag and joy to assassinate the daughter of the most powerful human nation's president during a meeting between all human leaders. sylas managed this by instigating cyrag..claiming that this woman was the leader of the human's supernatural taskforce hunting all different beings despite being underage herself..which sylas convinced cyrag was the perfect cover for any taskforce leader to prevent plushy intervention. enraged cyrag put the young woman out of her misery of being turned into a "pawn" by other human leaders. all according to plan. before cyrag and joy realized what they have done, the damage was already irreparable. sylas revealed his true colors to the duo as all human nations began to frenzy one another in the song of war. laughing manically as he tried to get rid of the duo..thankfully they both got saved by gunner and tyrant.   ultimately as the human race destoryed themselves, the ruthless family and plushy king brown hunted sylas down at peaks tower, the group fought against the nearly omnipotent being. during the battle syals desplay all of his known powers but at the time the group didnt know how to counter them. it was only after the heroic sacrifice of a human politician that sylas was damaged enough to slow his regeneration; ANYONE! he will exploit it for the laughs. even if that openin lead to the death of a civilian just happened to be there at the wrong time...he isnt biased..he will kill anyone if he sees the chance..whether or not they're a threat. if sylas was a raid boss in some kind of mmo! than the tanks are gonna have a hard time getting him to focus on them hand to hand combat expert ruthless assassin training eternal knowledge. sylas has a vast knowledge about almost everything on earth, thanks to the coven of comrade. however due to his lack of sanity, its hard to put this information to use. corrupted threads originally thought to be corrupted regeneration but obviously..its something else entirely. Corrupted thread making, this unique corrupted ability makes Sylas seems like he is regenerating. But rather it's only repairs his damages since he is a plushy. this ability doesnt seem to have limits it can going as far to make Sylas a new body parts if he loses one. This also gives Sylas a form of shape shifting. He could make himself look like plush versions of people, animals, or objects.  It doesn't help that he has a habit to let his threads sometimes carry him around like a tripod or something ((very spoopy :U)). this power also has a the ability to form threads of other things that can be used for clothing which means he can be fire retardant. corrupted shielding it's theoretically possible for a person to have two corrupted powers. However it was never proven. Not even by viper himself. The chances are extremely low. But Sylas once again is filled with surprises. He can summon up transparent green corrupted runes or shields to protect him from incoming blows. However these shields arent so powerful, brown and others have proven time and time again that they are indeed breakable but however very annoying. corrupted metal sylas is able to form only one certain type of metal at a time for his armor, needles, and hand blade. however unlike his threads which he can make a near infinite amount, sylas' metal ability is very limited and can only form 1 ton of metal from his body before being restricted to make more. this ability takes alot of souls to summon however a less than moderate amount to sustain. if his metal parts is removed then sylas loses all control of that metal piece a lasting influence.. sylas will fluffing F*CK YOU UP! in a mental way..its common for people to experience night terrors about sylas or have day terrors of him years after said encounter. in other words..even if he dies..he will continue to live on in the terror and minds of his victims. sylas also has a habit to try and make himself unforgettable through a multitude of ways. a sliver tongue he's one smooth talking mother fluffer a needle network inside him? data unknown possibly like one of those tomatoes that you stick needles in Weaknesses: fire most plushies are devastated by fire..however due to sylas power he can remake burned threads faster then the fire can harm him. however there is certain types of fires that can burn him faster then he can regenerate. try different chemicals or powers.   water water can clean a plush BUT it will make him/her sluggish and slow until he/she dry. sylas is no exception the nightosphere due to the chaotic energy in the nightosphere a plush can be drained to the point of death, the time it take depends on the plushy. sylas is again a different case, the nightosphere can indeed weaken him BUT not in the same way it weakens other plushies. anything that can destory fabric really be creative lol AND very careful.. he tends to get distracted however this is due to his prideful And cool nature. But be warn you will only have one shot. he still has a mortal brain capability despite his advance intellegence he is still a plushy. Meaning it it will take him time to grasp and calculate certain surprise movements. Plushies are naturally slow witted. Sylas however is still more "evolved" but not evolved enough to not fall for every plushy confusing trick. for example sudden surprises his eye sylas' regeneration is just him making threads and some metals out of nothing. however he cant make plastics! his eye is made of plastics and if his eye is ever damaged he can only do it with eye replacements. kinda hard to do a eye transplant in a middle of a battle. he can be trapped however due to his corrupted shielding, its rather tricky. to completely and sure trap sylas one must take away his powers. which isnt a easy feat. but luckily the elders of the plushy kingdom reforged a heavenly seal with the capable of reducing the powers of anything on or under it by 95%. unfortunately that means it will reduce the powers of everything under it. this includes the elders themselves. so sylas must be kept under constant watch.
