#lucretia borgia#i've always found this painting interesting#if i may...#i find the duality of lucretia in white (purity)#and the religious men in red (sin)#a really interesting duality#especially since lucretia was the POPE'S illegitimate child#the colour language says a lot about the sneering embarassed men#they laugh or hide their faces while lucretia is soft innocent and content#i always saw this painting as critical of religious people#and their hidden pleasures#anyway
