Joffrey's birth makes no sense because it literally makes him too young. I know they wanted to show Rhaenyra in a sympathetic manner with him but why would she wait 8 years to have another child?

I can excuse a bit of a delay in Joffrey's age, especially considering how they changed the timeline around to accommodate Alicent and Rhaenyra's changed relationship, plus it can be explained away with that whole "Rhaenyra and Laenor did try for kids" thing and be assumed that after two clearly Strong bastards, Rhaenyra tried to put the whole thing on hold and try for a bit to get a trueborn child with Laenor until it wasn't working out, and from what I remember Joffrey is meant to be the youngest out of all the kids (he's I think three during Aemond's eye incident). The issue for me is that they made the time jump just way too short by only making it six years, I assume to make Jace and Luke their canon ages by the time the Dance starts but not really accounting for the fact that Joffrey's only six so far (which in and of itself is fine, he doesn't do much in the Dance anyway except die) and making Aegon and Viserys way too young.

Viserys being a baby is, idk, fine I guess, he doesn't do much during the Dance either and the only knock on affect is maybe his marriage to Larra Rogare if they even get that far into the story. But Aegon the Younger being a toddler is a problem. It's a huge problem. For one, Aegon's a dragonrider in the Dance, and it's pivotal that he be so, because his horrible experience in the one time he ever rode a dragon contributed to his distaste for them later in life and in his kingship. For two, Aegon needs to be old enough to do shit like, for instance, talk and understand the world around him and form long term memories. It's actually kinda vital, considering how important the fact that Aegon being scarred from watching his mother's execution is to him as a character and how he evolved as he grew into an adult, how it affected him and his relationships to others and likely even his own parenting style. Which is already a tall order for any actor who can convincingly play a ten year old, but I dare you to find me the toddler who can not only act his lil heart out in situations like "fleeing on a dying dragon and leaving your brother to die" and "feeling fucked up about leaving your brother to die" and "being forced to watch your mother be burned alive and eaten by a dragon". Even riding the dragon alone is gonna be hard, have you seen how those contraptions work? Why is he a toddler?? Why?!?!?!?! What the fuck was the point of this you fucked it all up!
