I was thinking too hard about how funny this is and how Galadriel is exactly this much of a petty bitch and I support her and then my brain promptly went down the much less funny path of "Overthrowing Finrod was famously Celebrimbor's breaking point with his father so Galadriel throwing this into his face like that would probably cause a major cause of self doubt/identity crisis à la 'have I become as bad as my family' which would drive him straight into Annatar's arms once he arrives to prove those thoughts wrong even harder than in canon" and now I'm sad

I'd like to think that when Galadriel got coup'd and kicked out of Eregion, she threw down her crown (or equivalent) and looked right at Celebrimbor as she did.

#the worst thing is i don't even think galadriel would realize #and not in the usual galadriel 'it took me some ten thousand years and a couple earth shattering wars to get some self reflection' way #(and i mean that in the most affectionate way possible)#but simply due to her unique position in the house of finwe (one of only two granddaughters #and of finarfin's house who seem to be much more unapologetic about their heritage from indis)#i don't think she'd understand how fundamental proving that he is not his family is to celebrimbor #especially as he's also running around plastering feanorian stars on everything #elrond hears the story after it is already much too late and celebrimbor's body has become sauron's banner #and he understands immediately and never tells her either because it's the kindest thing he can think of doing
