today I'm mad at the council for declaring a housing emergency because everyone's rent is unaffordable, and deciding the solution to this must be to build houses rather than mandate lower rents

#I wouldn't need to get a council flat if rents didn't go up by £100 every two months now would I #the house building is destroying habitats near me and only 10% of them have to be 'affordable' and the developers build houses and only hou #es so nobody can access a gp or a shop and for what? it's not solving the problem at the root. I can't believe even asking for rents to go #back down is so unconscionably radical politicians won't even acknowledge you asked. the thing everyone in this city wants. what the fuck #anyway it's not all bad cause the scrubland that's got planning permission for it near me has like 250 comments on the planning portal so
