"Those are my fries, and those are yours,"
"Come on! Does it really make a difference if I take just one?" You retorted.
"Settled accounts keep old friends," he mumbled, mouth half full of food.
You giggled as he took off the top bun from his burger, piled on a bunch of fries, and took a huge bite. The scene was downright chaotic, and you burst out laughing. Levi, who normally cared about appearances, was wolfing down the McDonald's meal with an intensity that didn’t quite match the polished image he’d shown earlier, even though that suit probably cost a fortune.
Ketchup stuck to the corner of his mouth as he raised an eyebrow, silently questioning what was so funny. Once he'd swallowed, he muttered, "Eat before the fries get cold. They taste horrible like that."
You couldn't help but reflect on how the night had gone. The House of CB dress you'd bought and saved for a special occasion, the hair you had done at the salon, the makeup you practiced to mimic the subtle but lovely glam of the latest Bridgerton season—none of that had been planned for you to end up in your boyfriend's car, surrounded by a ridiculous amount of fast food from a drive-thru at 11 p.m.
The empty parking lot outside, with snow accumulating, could have been eerie if you weren’t sitting next to Levi. Fries slathered in extra cheddar sauce were scattered everywhere, and Levi shoveled them into his mouth without a care. No lights, no music, but it didn't matter—you felt safe with him, though neither of you was keen on tempting fate by keeping the car lights on in the middle of nowhere.
Taking a bite of your own burger, you chuckled again. "I don't think I've ever seen you this hungry."
Levi paused mid-chew to take a swig of his Coke. "Tch, those posh assholes. They dragged me around for hours—hours! Examples of this, representation of that, and handshakes with whoever. From 3 p.m.! They didn’t even let me grab a sandwich at the reception. Finally, they serve dinner at 10—TEN!" he grumbled, the delay clearly having been the final straw. "And what did they serve? One shrimp, a tiny cube of cheese, and some grass they picked from outside and called a gourmet dinner."
"Rich people don’t eat much; that’s why," you teased. "It’s fancy to have tiny portions on huge plates."
"That’s because they’re all on Ozempic, buying up medicine that people actually need. Fuck them," he muttered.
On any other occasion, Levi would’ve cursed you for eating in his car, but tonight he made an exception. "How are my ice creams?"
Levi glanced outside where the ice creams were stored in the cold air to keep from melting. Processing your words, he turned back to you. "My ice creams? You mean ours."
"Oh, Levi, aren’t you going to gift me one? What kind of gentleman are you?" you teased.
"Right now, I’d bite your arm off if it weren’t for the fact that McDonald’s is still open," he replied with a smirk.
You laughed again. It had been the government holiday party, and you’d been so excited to attend, ready to rub elbows with high society. One of the older women had even told you, "You should've asked for a brand to sponsor your dress, coming as Levi’s plus-one!" Erwin had insisted that Levi attend as a representative of the Ackerman family, much to your boyfriend's dismay. Uri had agreed, probably because any option was better than Kenny for a formal event.
"Erwin will kill you when he finds out," you said, remembering how Levi had messaged you to sneak out. You’d never imagined he’d drag you through a bathroom window, across the estate grounds, and into his car for a McDonald’s run. "What about Uri? I ran into him during dinner. He was so nice!"
Levi hummed in approval, acknowledging that the old man had always been a saint in his eyes. The only one capable of dealing with Kenny for so many years.
Suddenly, Levi's phone lit up, its ringtone breaking the quiet. "Fuck!" you panicked.
"Don’t answer. If we do, they’ll know I’m reachable," Levi said, ignoring the calls.
Message after message flooded his phone—texts from Uri, Traute, and Erwin: Where are you? Levi, answer the phone ASAP. Come back here this instant.
The calls came in one after another.
"They won’t stop," you muttered. "Maybe we should just tell them—"
"No. They’d send the national guard to drag me back to that snob-filled hell," Levi spat. Despite not picking up, both of you whispered as if the unanswered calls could somehow hear.
At some point, the whole situation became hilarious. You found yourself resting your head on his shoulder, chuckling as the phone buzzed incessantly. Levi kept refusing to answer, and in the midst of it all, you shared sloppy kisses in the darkened car.
"I’ve got an idea
" you said, a mischievous glint in your eye. Levi looked at you, confused, the noise from the phone distracting from the moment you were building.
Casually, you swiped up on the screen and answered. "Levi? Where are—"
With a fake gasp and an exaggerated tone, you moaned, "Ah, Lev—Yes!"
Levi had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing as he realized what you were doing. "Play along," you whispered. And before you knew it, he began thumping the side door, mimicking the sound of
 well, thrusts.
"Harder!" you managed between giggles before the call abruptly ended, leaving both of you in hysterics.
"Well, they’re definitely not calling anymore," Levi shook his head, still grinning, knowing full well this prank wouldn’t go unpunished.
"You can always say we were busy working on the Ackerman heir they keep asking for," you teased.
Levi grimaced, entertained by the thought. "I mean
" His hand slid up your thigh, the mood shifting as his touch grew more insistent. "We could actually be doing that."
Your hips began to move slightly over his lap. A quick glance at the clock—the only light inside the car—showed 12:05 a.m. Finally past midnight. "Whatever the birthday boy wants," you purred.
—
"He picked up? What did he say, sir?" Traute asked irritably in the event staff area, where they were waiting to bring out the enormous, decorated cake for the final part of the evening.
Uri chuckled, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. "I think he’s already celebrating. Let’s just carry on."
(No idea what this is, the idea just pop up in my mind)

Just Wanted You (Levi x Reader)
Tumblr media
_____ Pairing: Levi x Female Reader Summary: Levi forgets your birthday, and tries to make it up to you. Warnings: Angst, Fluff [AOT Masterlist] _____
As the sun rose past the horizons that lay past your window you find yourself stir with your body’s all too familiar response to sleep’s fleeting presence. You keep your eyes shut despite the light that slowly illuminates the room to try to salvage the moment of peace if only just for a moment, that is, until, your mind catches up to you. Your eyes now shoot open before a smile quickly reaches the corners of your face. Today was your birthday. Now you don’t truly care too much for the prospect of birthdays or governing a whole day to your wants and needs, but you cared about spending time with your partner. Levi. You turn, still smiling, hoping to find him underneath the covers beside you, hoping to share the day with him. However, when you reach out blindly to your side you are met with cool sheets and not even an indentation that he had been lying beside you. When your eyes finally catch up to your movements you falter slightly at the sight of his absence.
A grain of disappointment fills you as your smile momentarily wavers before resuming its place on your face. You let out a sigh but shake your head; you had kept your expectations low, after all, being Captains in the Squad Regiment rarely meant a moment’s rest. It was not rare the number of times you awoke before the daylight or he left before you, leaving the other to awaken alone. Despite that, you had both learned to love in the quiet spaces of time you shared just the two of you, to treasure every fleeting moment that encapsulated your relationship and to protect each other in a world so cruel. Your eyes move across the room before spotting a note left at your bedside table. I have to run some reports to the higher ups, I should be back by the afternoon. Levi. Your heart warms at the sight. That’s right, you think to yourself. Even on previous birthdays, if you hadn’t been able to spend the whole day together, Levi would often make the effort to be with you at least for a few hours during the day to celebrate privately. You didn’t mind; a single moment with him during the day was all you really wanted.
You get up, stretching lightly above your head and taking in a deep breath before deciding to get ready for the day. Unlike Levi, you had been able to snatch a day off from Erwin, who readily gave it to you seeing as you were one of his most valuable soldiers, working hard throughout your time as Captain. You felt excitement fill you again at the prospect of having a free day, a day without paperwork or training or the endless tasks that come with being a leader of the Scouts. You rush to get ready, quickly washing your face and putting up your hair, selecting casual clothes that had been left in the depths of your wardrobe, unused for several weeks. You leave the confines of your room and almost instantly are greeted by scouts who smile and greet you, surprised to see you in your informal attire. Other scouts you are close with grin and congratulate you on your birthday to which you smile kindly and give your thanks.
Much of your day is spent joyously and you are more than thankful for a day of rest regardless of whether it was your birthday or not. Your breakfast was spent surrounded by your squad who instantly swarms you, with a chorus of, "happy birthday captain," gathering more attention you are flustered at. Much of the morning is spent at the markets in town, deciding to treat yourself to small trinkets and a book that had caught your eye a few weeks ago. You also gather up a bunch of ingredients, deciding that if Levi would come home in the afternoon, you could spend the rest of the day cooking up a nice dinner for the two of you to share. You didn't mind, you just wanted to spend some time with the man you loved and to have a meal not catered to you but homemade.
When you finally get back to Scout headquarters after stopping by the bakery for a quick lunch, it's Hange who approaches you, eyes shining behind their glasses. "[y/n]!" They grin widely at you as they approach before swinging an arm around your shoulder. "Happy Birthday, where's the clean freak today?" You let out a laugh, "you mean Levi?" You turn to them as you take out the ingredients you got, getting ready to prepare them in the small kitchenette you were in. "He's gone into town to meet with some of the higher-ups, he should be back later." There is a brief pause as Hange falters at the fact seeming in contemplation about something. You look up confused by the sudden silence.
“Hange, what's wrong?" They turn to you before shaking their head as if dismissing something and their grin reaches their face once more. "Nothing, I just thought Levi had the day off today." You smile and nod as you start to chop and mix your ingredients, creating your favourite dish for the night. "Yeah, but he must've had trouble getting it off, after all I've got today off, maybe Erwin didn't want two captains out of the running." Hange nods slowly in agreement before their energy seems to rush back through them. "Anyway, what are you making? Need any help?"
Needless to say, the rest of the afternoon was spent in a mixture of laughter and panic as you and Hange ran around the kitchen, food covering your faces. At one point something was burning, something was flying and something had fallen to the floor. You honestly had no idea how the two of you were able to produce a decent meal by the end of it, but there it was in front of you, and it didn't look half bad. You turn grinning at Hange who looks exhausted. "I think I'll stick to the Titans..." They mutter and you let out a laugh at their state. The two of you finally finish cleaning up and you say your goodbyes as you carry your food and some tea on a tray to take to your and Levi's room. You feel excitement brimming within you once again at the prospect of finally seeing him today and sharing this moment, just the two of you. As you turn the corner about to enter your room, however, you meet with a pair of bright blue eyes and realise Erwin is approaching you.
"[y/n]," he smiles kindly as you cross paths, giving you a warm expression you rarely see in the presence of other Scouts. "Erwin," you nod with a smile as you pause briefly before reaching for your door. "I just wanted to say Happy Birthday, I hope you and Levi enjoyed your day off." With that, the blond-haired man is off again, before you can even respond to the words he just spoke. You feel yourself confused as this was the second time someone mentioned Levi taking the day off, and Erwin too? It must've been a mistake. You quickly shake your head before opening the door and making your way to the table in the middle of the room. You place your two dishes upon it and set the tea aside, knowing you may have to reheat it a bit later. You look out the window to see that the sun outside is slowly falling to the depths of the horizon once more and wonder if Levi will be back soon. You unconsciously feel your heart warm at the thought, keen to see your lover even though you had just seen him last night.
You sit at the table as the sun touches the ground, bleeding orange into the blue of the sky. You flick through pages of a book you had bought today looking up occasionally, waiting for Levi to appear through the door. You decide to have a few of your favourite sweets as the orange that seeps through your window slowly dims. Through it all you are simply patient and waiting. Simply giddy at the fact you would see your partner once more. But the hours tick by in his absence and suddenly the excitement starts to dwindle, replaced by disappointment which reshapes into worry. Where's Levi? You look out the window to the sky that continues to lose its colour thinking back to the words of the note you had found this morning. I should be back by the afternoon. Well, now it was almost evening. You decide to cover your food and put away your drinks, seeing that your hard work might be wasted if it is left openly on the table. You decide to wait a bit longer before you let your anxious thoughts envelop you. And so you do.
You wait.
But you can't help yourself when the moon continues to rise higher in the sky and you see no presence of the man you so adored. A million scenarios mix in your head. Was he hurt? Was he in trouble? Should I go find him? Where is he? You find yourself pacing the room at one point, now unable to keep your thoughts at bay. The stars now shine brighter in the pitch-black sky and your heart races as you are unable to sit still in the chair you sat yourself in. You suddenly could care less that it was your birthday, as long as Levi was safe. You are about to get ready to go out and look for him when finally, you hear the click of the door. You find yourself turning quickly, only to see it reveal Levi and his tired form sauntering through the entrance. You rush to him worry etching your face as he looks up at you wearily taking in your form. "Levi? Are you okay where have you-"
Your words jumble in the air hoping to know why he had been so late, but you find yourself momentarily freeze when Levi puts up a quick hand toward you, eyes weary. You frown at the gesture, seeing his tired gaze but not knowing why he was being so dismissive, especially today. “I’m fine, I was just finishing some paperwork.” Levi mumbles avoiding your gaze as he walks into the room rubbing at his face. “Oh.” You breathe out suddenly feeling your chest tighten; suddenly feeling your worry churn into disappointment once more. Surely he didn’t- But you don’t have to contemplate on your thoughts because the evidence is right in front of you. It’s in the way Levi shrugs out of his outerwear and absentmindedly puts himself through his nightly routine. It’s in the way he hadn’t even greeted you with a kiss or even a mere word of affection as he usually did. It’s in the way he barely looks to you.
He had forgotten
You suddenly feel out of place just standing in place as you watch Levi walk around the room slowly getting ready for bed. You don’t know what to do or if you should say something when you hear the clock tick closer to midnight; to the end of the day. Your eyes glance towards the meal that was covered but still lay on the table in the room the two of you shared. Suddenly the exclamations of “happy birthdays” you collected throughout the day weighed heavy on your chest. Suddenly the carefree day spent treating yourself to gifts felt stupid and childish. Suddenly the joyful time you had spent with Hange working so hard to make the dinner you both had prepared felt bitter. What was the point if the one person you treasured most couldn’t even spare the time to realise; to realise how you spent the whole day waiting
 for him?
You don’t know if it’s pure misfortune or luck that he looks up to you in that moment and follows your gaze to the meals forgotten on the table. “What’s this?” He asks but his voice is muffled in your head, and you can no longer tell if you’re over-exaggerating or not. You look up breaking free of your thoughts, your feet still planted in the same spot it had been for several moments now. “Oh, I just thought I could make us some dinner, you know, it’s been a while since we did and- would you- would you like to- I-.” But Levi cuts you off on your offer letting out a deep sigh. “Look [y/n], I know we’ve been busy lately but can we please not do this tonight, I’m exhausted.” His words cut sharp across the room and that’s when you feel your heart sink, the final confirmation you needed just to know. You nod, pushing irritation to the side as just sadness fills you. You’re too emotionally drained to allow yourself to speak, so you walk past him and into your bedroom closing the door shut purposely and without a word.
Levi looked up feeling murky vexation and annoyance brim in the air even after your disappearance, but what confuses him most was your blatant show of defeat etched on your face. Sure the two of you had talked about spending more time together as recent events put strains on the hours the two of you would usually spend, but why would you be so defeated today? There wasn’t anything special about the evening. Levi felt bad thinking to the way he had greeted you, so unlike what he usually does but he is exhausted. He had a bad day. He had gone into town to give reports to the higher-ups only to find that he had travelled all that way mistakenly; the meeting was not for another week. The rest of the day he had spent trying to be productive but it seemed that peace was hard to come by as the crowded yells of Scouts interrupted his thoughts when he arrived back at headquarters. So, the rest of the afternoon he had spent in one of the unoccupied offices, only to spill his tea upon hours of paperwork, the rest of the night spent fixing the disaster.
Levi lets out a deep sigh, irritation filling his senses as even now it seems he can’t have an ounce of peace today. He couldn’t deal with your antics tonight, having no energy to fight or prod at your blatant disappointment. So, with a shake of his head he goes to the meals you had prepared going to pack them away for the night. He reaches for them readying to put them away when his eyes falter slightly at the sight. He recognises the meal instantly; it was your favourite. He can’t help but smile slightly at the sight of it remembering back to one of his fondest memories. He remembered, it must’ve been last year when he had gone to a kitchen dead set on making the dish for you. He remembers how you had walked in partway ruining the surprise but exchanging it for an experience he’d treasure. You had seen his struggle with the dish and the two of you had prepared it together before sharing it privately just the two of you. Come to think of it, why did he go to all that trouble that day? Levi can’t help but wonder as his mind jumbles as though trying to come to a revelation, not knowing why he suddenly feels anxious at the sight of the food and your swift absence. But then it hits him finally as his heart constricts and then a spark illuminates his thoughts, that ignites panic into his mind.
It had been your birthday.
He remembers it clearly now. The struggle to find an excuse to leave your presence briefly. The swiftness of his movements as he collected the ingredients rushing to a spare kitchenette, hoping to surprise you with your favourite dish. It had been your birthday. His mind now reels at the sight and suddenly Levi can’t help but feel as though the paranoid nagging in his mind all day had finally been answered for. But surely. Surely it wasn’t today
Levi has never flown across a room so fast in his life. He rips open a drawer in his desk and pulls out his calendar, heart pounding at the sight of the clearly marked date on the page in front of him. He counts back the days and does the math in his head. He realises the reason why he had gone to a meeting a week too early. He realises why everything had been going wrong today. He realises why the scouts had not bothered him for training or why Erwin hadn’t added to his pile of paperwork. He had the day off. He had the dates mixed in his head
 today was your birthday.
He looks up at the sight of the still closed door in front of him; a symbol of your absence and of your disappointment. He remembers the sight of your face, crestfallen. He remembers walking in and through his tired gaze meeting yours that was full of panic, and your worry at where he had been. It wasn’t unusual to come home late but it would be unusual if he had stayed away so long on your birthday. He remembers his sparse acknowledgement of you, the way he brushed off your efforts and your meal; the way he spoke sharp and dismissive as though you were a mere Scout he was reprimanding. He remembers the look in your eye, conflicted but simply defeated and drained. You had been waiting all day for him to come home, to celebrate and he couldn’t even remember for you. Levi felt like an asshole, feels the panic and dread that fills him now like a wave.
He had forgotten your birthday.
Levi moves forward quickly, heart lurching, mind reeling as he hesitates before your door. What could he do? What could he say? He had prepared for your birthday several weeks ago but he had forgotten anyway; a day that he was supposed to spend with you, to devote and celebrate you. Levi opens the door slowly and you hear it. The slight creak of the wooden door as you lay by your side looking to the dark space that meets your tearful gaze. You hear his footsteps slow and remorseful moving towards you but you squeeze your eyes shut hoping he will leave you be, not wanting to fight or feel more of the disappointment you felt today. You feel the dip of the bed behind you and you know that Levi sits beside you now, you hear his intake of breath and feel the hesitance weigh heavy in the space between you. “[y/n], I know you’re awake.” Levi’s voice is quiet as it reaches your ears but you still refuse to turn around emotions clouding your eyes, tears threatening to spill.
Levi sighs out before sitting back at your lack of response. He had really messed up. “Look
” you hear the beginning of his sentence once more as you feel the weight of your heart heavy on your chest. “It’s true, I forgot your birthday, I had it all planned out, but tch- I fucked up, and
I’m sorry.” You barely discern the last part of his words as your eyes widen, tears spilling and your form freezing. Had Levi, the Levi Ackerman, just apologised? “Please [y/n] just let me make it up to you, whatever you want... I know it's late but-" Levi hates the silence of the room, hates that he doesn't know how to make it up to you as he picks at his mind trying to think of something to say; anything to salvage the day he had disregarded. But his eyes widen in a strange mix of guilt and relief when you turn to face him. Your tears still linger in the depths of your eyes, and he hates that he's the reason for it. You reach out to him and he instantly responds to your touch allowing you to pull him down towards you.
Levi feels the exhaustion of the day build before retreating at your mere embrace, as he wonders what he ever did to deserve you. "I just wanted you," you mutter out against his form, breathing in his familiar scent, and relishing the company you had missed all day. Levi looks down to you, eyes closed as you press against him, warmth lingering between your bodies. Again, he wonders how he was blessed with someone so forgiving. "That's cheesy," he murmurs back teasingly and you pout up at him, glossy eyes meeting his. "Just let me have this." You say sighing contentedly and relishing his presence, already forgetting that he had forgotten, and too tired to nitpick at the events that had occurred. You knew he had been tired, you knew he would never purposefully hurt you in any way and that included maybe forgetting an event such as your birthday. Levi leans forward and he kisses your lips, and you feel the warmth and softness and familiarity of him moving against you. He deepens it, arms pulling you impossibly closer before finally parting for air. "I promise I'll make it up to you."
.....
Needless to say, the rest of the night was filled with hours of Levi showing you his love, and the next morning came with the lingering scent of breakfast made just for you. Levi revealed the collection of gifts he had bought a week ago for your birthday, showing he never truly forgot, but the dates had just muddled in his preoccupied mind. Levi had gotten the two of you the day off once more, finally spending the time promised to you. A time free of the duties the two of you would normally have to respond to and free of prying eyes that restrict the show of your relationship. Overall, it was a good birthday, and the man beside you was proof of that.
But most importantly, Levi made sure to never forget your birthday again.

Erwin Smith
Things are... mostly the same as the were before for the most part. Not right away though because of course all the stuff with Rod Reiss, Historia, the man hunt for Survey Corps heads, and the fact Erwin was quite literally sentenced to death not that long after losing it so things were of course very hectic to where there wasn't really a good adjustment period until the two month preparation period to reclaim Shingashima.
It's a shame really, it was his dominant hand too, now all his paperwork is signed with a slight messiness to it he isn't exactly a fan of. But he makes do, relearning and rewiring how his brain works to make up for the lost limb. But even if he doesn't say it out loud, you know more than anyone exactly how hard it is for him - even if to so many people he has so many different airs and appearances to keep.
"Oh it's just an arm, a small sacrifice for the greater good of Humanity. Many good, amazing, talented people have lost more. This is a minor scratch compared to that."
That's what he told Nile that night over dinner together with you and Marie too after Erwin's charges had been offically cleared off the records. Truth be told, none of you at that table bought it, even if he really did intentionally mean it - you three knew him, and it was subtle but with how he struggled to pick up and properly use the fork in his sole surviving hand spoke all it need to. It was a very human struggle - one he did everything to hide.
He can't shave his face by himself anymore, he has trouble putting his uniform on every morning, he needs to relearn how to use ODM gear in a modified way, he has to do an awkward version of the salute now, he struggles with how to maneuver and get himself clean in the shower for the longest until he comes up with a routine on how to do it one handed, he still has enemies so he has to rewire how he thinks of defending himself, he has to learn how to deal with this odd... phantom feeling of his missing arm still being there like in the stories he'd hear from injured soldiers. It's all hard, but he manages, braves through but he's very thankful to have you and so many close others at his side that are willing to help him through it.
Also misses holding your hand. During a meeting with Queen Historia, her Majesty speaking excitedly about her plans to help out orphans - specifically those from Underground, as Levi had made sure to suggest - that as the core members of the Survey Corps stood in audience, he couldn't help but to glance over at where you stood at one side of him, nodding supportively along to Historia's desires about letting the children have fun on her new acquired farm lands, that does he stare at you - at your hand more specifically, as you are standing at his side with the dangling green military coat sleeve. It's rude, he knows, not paying attention as the Queen speaks about her noble causes but he finds himself not being able to help it. For just a second - and maybe, probably, he's deluding this - but for a second he feels the empty sleeve move on it's own to graze at your hand as to grab it - immediately gaining your attention as you stare over at him with your gorgeous eyes that every time he looks at him he falls in love all over again, over and over and the way your head questioningly tilts as if to ask him if something was wrong does his throat turn dry but his lips slightly part until-
A rough kick comes subtly to his paralleled ankle at his other side, Levi. The Captain doesn't look at him, he just keeps his arms crossed over his chest and intently listens to Historia's plans, however, he quietly scolds under his breath: "Pay attention."
Right... he was being very rude. He shouldn't get lost up in silly stuff like this in such important professional times such as these. But... when you suddenly reach over and hold onto the sleeve just as it were his flesh hand only weeks prior, so sincerely and lovingly... he can't help but the dumb smile on his face.
Everything will be fine. He's still the same man. There'll be struggle, some more getting use to - afterall, it's only been a couple weeks if not a month. There's plenty of recovery time in the future, he knows it. After Shingashima, he decides, maybe then he'll take some time off - spend with you and truly attune himself with the lacking arm. And maybe... maybe if he practices a bit first with his still lack of balance... he can still properly get down on his knees and take out that heavy ring in his breast pocket and ask you that question that's been on his mind.
Tumblr media
Hanji Zoë
Going to be perfectly honest, the missing eye is the least of Hanji's issues at the moment. It's still a struggle, yes, the now partial blindness that they have to now wear a patch over and it takes a couple weeks to properly get accumulated and not bumping into walls, doors, tables, and other stuff on accident. But it becomes something that's like second nature to the new Commander very quickly on.
Now... the sight isn't the issue. The mountain of other things that came with Shingashima is, both mental and physical.
The obvious is the new Commander position, taking over Erwin's role puts so much on their shoulders and not just that - having to put on this brave face for the only - ten, including themselves, Survey Corps members that survived that bloodbath. They're in charge, everyone's looking up to them them for advice, for orders, for their command. Meanwhile... Hanji hasn't even had proper time to grief for not just one but two of their best friends... Erwin. Moblit... that first night was the roughest, coming back home, to their now old office and practically broke down crying where you had to comfort them all night - they didn't sleep for the next four days straight. They stayed cooped in that office while everyone else was on leave to go properly recover and only let you attend to them. Hanji isn't... the same after that - and everyone notices but doesn't dare to speak on it. They aren't the quirky titan-obsessed quack anymore. They were the calculating 14th Commander of the Survey Corps, Hanji Zoë.
Hanji is also particularly deaf in their right ear now, even if they were - mostly - uninjured from the Colossal Titan nuke, the sound of the impact definitely damaged it a bit before they were tossed in deep the well by Moblit. They've never said the fact out loud to anybody, only you and Levi are aware of the fact, but they read lips more often than not now. So you make sure you always make it able to where they can properly read your lips when you speak to them, and if you can learn a bit of sign language that would also be very helpful.
Doesn't sleep as much as they used to. They say it's because they're too busy - Commander work and still helping out ironing out political matters and issues that still came with Historia's crowing as the new Queen of the Walls and the hectic readjustment period of getting Maria's old settlements rebuilt and ready for resettlement - but that's not just it. There's the nightmares now. Keeping them awake just to not wake them up screaming in the middle of the night and you have to loose sleep comforting them. They should be fine with it, they tell themselves, after all what they said back on that roof to Mikasa was true; they've seen hundreds of their comrades die - no actually, not a hundred... too many more than that to count. And each time they've been strong about it... distracting themselves in their research not to let themselves dwell on it too long. But now... no matter how hard they tried, nothing worked. Maybe it's because it was Erwin and Moblit, the closest two other people they had besides you and Levi. Or maybe it's because only ten fucking people out of the entire fucking Regiment survived that damn day.
And now that the truth is out there, what titans actually are, titan research isn't fun anymore. They could very easily drag one in a captured area and poke amd prod and maybe learn a little bit more on how the transformation process actually works - Connie Springer's mother would be a good example but just looking at that boy they can't bring themselves to even suggest it - but they don't. They just... sign off on papers all day. Try not to think about overseas that much. Not yet anyway.
Things are slightly better by the time you've made contact with the volunteers and the core Scouts had made their way to embark on Marley. Seeing new sights, new people, new inventions none of you could possibly even dream of was quite thrilling. Hanji has a great time, holding onto your hand and sporadically yapping on and on about this "car," or this "tele - phone," or this "controllable electricity." in the exact same manner and way they use to about titans - that wide shit eating smile that goes from ear to ear plastered to their face for the first time in years you love to see as you nod along and just listen and let them ask Onyankopon every possible question that comes to their head - the man having trouble even keeping up with them. It's nice while it last... but it's not too long until the 14th Commander comes back when reminded about why you're all here in the first place...
It's late at night one night, the night before you were all supposed to go back to Paradis does Hanji stare up at the ceiling of your shared room in the Azumabito astate. They have their eye patch off - feeling comfortable around you for you to see the mangled socket that normally rests underneath - as they lie back in bed and listen to you shuffle around to get into your night-wear to get ready to join them.
"I'm thinking..." They finally speak, you look back over your shoulder at them - sprawled out on messy sheets with only wrapped circuit of bandages around their chest to hide the shape. "...I'm thinking that Armin should be my successor. What you think?"
You tell them he's a smart kid, very talented at what he does but... given, past history... you express your feelings that it might be a lot to put on him, given the position of it's weight. Erwin's weight. Erwin's impact. Hanji's impact.
Yeah, probably true, they tell you. And they reminisce on how they felt when Erwin had dropped the sudden bombshell on them... God. They were turning more into him everyday... but you crawl over to the bed and start to kiss their face before the Commander can sulk in it. You love them, you tell them that every chance you get and it never fails to leave a gentle look in Hanji's remaining eye, their expression softening. They joke, saying how much you probably miss the old up-beat crazy Squad Leader Hanji... but you shake your head, hands so loving on their face as you tell them straight up you love them now just as much as you did back then - damaged and all.
Without hesitation they ask you to marry them.

Levi Ackerman
Hard. Very hard at first. He can only particularly see, for the first year or so his stitches itch to a very grading degree, he has only eight digits on his hands where using the left is... very difficult, especially with his unique ways of holding things, and he can't walk. Humanity's strongest - that ridiculous title... now look at him. He "entered" the Survey Corps ten years ago and now every single person around him then is dead - except you. During those first few days of the Rumbling he didn't really think about it - with all the shit going on he had other things to think about than have time to really... process. But here he is now, couple days after the "Battle of Heaven and Earth," as he's hearing people call it. Now in his time to heal does it really set in. And at first he doesn't take it... well.
Once he's well enough to be off bedrest and he's in that "damn chairwheels," you and Onyankopon manage to buy him (hard to come by given how... very much damaged the world still is post Rumbling) you're going to have to have to keep your eye on him because for the first couple weeks he will try to get up and walk around - only damaging his hurt leg more. He feels restricted in it, he wants to go where he damn well pleases - you tried crutches for a while but... he's actually too short for the ones you manged to find post Rumbling, so he's left to that chair. It just takes him time to get use to, that's all. Eventually though, months after the Crisis has been over, it's when you start taking him out places - steering him through the rebuilding cities of Marley, talking about God knows what, that he starts to come around... maybe it's not that bad, annoying, sure, but he feels a lot calmer now. Those kids - Gabi and Falco, they help too. Sometimes they drive him around but he isn't exactly the biggest fan when they clumsily knock him into shit though but they're cute kids, they remind him a lot of much younger versions of Isabel and Farlan, how they'd bicker all the time...
The two of you have a cabin together in Marley, a nice cozy cabin that with the help of Onyankopon - who smuggily calls himself a bit of 'builder' - is modified a bit so that it's more accessible for Levi to move around, plenty enough ofvplace to roam so he doesn't feel couped up like he expressed he didn't want when getting the place. It's nice though, Levi's never had a real house before - only somewhat exception being that dingy little apartment he and Kenny used to live in Underground and then he lived with Farlan and Isabel in it too before joining the Corps. Besides that it's always just been either a whorehouse, military base, or temporary spots he wouldn't even shit in. All shared spaces. Not something that was... his. Though of course he lives with you, you are his s/o but you're different. No, he lived... with you. You own this house together. It's his. It's yours. It's yours (plural).
He can't clean as properly as he use to, getting down on the ground and scrubbing top to bottom and every single crack in the room, of course he can't do that anymore so - and to make him feel better, feel good and comfortable in your own home together you do it, you keep the place always spotless. And he still wants to actively clean of course, the process has always been therapeutic for him, he just can't do it as thorough as he once did but he still will do what he can from the confines of sitting down while you do all the very high and very low lifting.
His senses are still sharp, even with his half blindness. But even still, you always make sure to stand on his good side and if your on the blind you make sure to audibly announce your presence even if he could probably still sense you - Ackerman biology boosting it by tenfold, after all - you do it because it's polite and he does appreciate that.
Mostly handles things with his good hand anyway but is in the habit of dropping things whenever it comes to his less-good one, there's only so much you can do with only three fingers (including thumb) on one hand without being issues. It takes awhile before he even let's you hold that hand again and when he does the first several times he always hesitates, but it all flutters away when you carefully and gently intertwine your fingers with his good ones and your pointer and middle finger lovingly folds over his numbs. Or when you kiss delicately at each of his knuckles on that hand... it's weirdly sweet, weirdly romantic, he thinks.
It's been three years now. Domestic bliss is something Levi never thought existed - or he he did, never, never ever in his thirty-seven year life would he ever think he'd get to live such a thing. The two of you sit in front of the lake off to the side of your cabin, sitting on a lunch-bench watching on as Gabi and Falco are completely red in the face, awkwardly and loudly confessing their feelings to one another in only that embarrassingly sweet way teenagers could. It's sweet... to watch on. You look over and see the small, subtle yet warm, soft smile on Levi's lips. Proud of them, those two dumb kids that's been helping the two of you out for years now. You laugh, causing him to look over at you.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing,"
The giggling in your chest dies down as you watch as the two kids untactfully bump their faces together in an attempted kiss but Falco jolts back holding his forehead in pain, and Gabi's face to turn an even darker red as she yells something at him.
"Do you think we're too old now to act like that?"
Grey eye rolls. "When have I ever acted like that?"
"Oh I can name quite the few times when we first first started dating-"
He suddenly grabs at your face with a: "Hush." before kissing you, the worn stitches on his lips against yours always feel nice. Then he leans back, staring at you with lingering thoughts before his eye flicks back over to the kids now sweetly in each other's arms.
"You know, I was going to ask you something today but those brats decided to go ahead and make it about themselves..." He says, no real malice in his voice, just teasing. But you tilt your head out of curiosity.
"Ask me what?"
He sits back on the bench and stares out onto the lake. His wheelchair is parked off to the side, it's in a bag. He could reach over and pluck it out now. It was something he actually picked out years ago... something he never thought he needed because he never expected to reach this point together with you but Hanji talked his ear off into buying it and Erwin gave him this... teasing encouraged look with that weird smile of his that he'll never forget for the rest of his life. And he's kept it with him, all the time, it's always been on him in some shape or form. Honestly he wasn't sure how you didn't manage to find it already.
He looks back over to you and you're still intently staring back over at him. Maybe. Maybe he still could now.
"Ask me what?"

An inviting herbal scent fills the air in Levi’s office, complemented nicely with a warm room temperature. While outside it’s quite hot around this time of June, the center is pretty consistently freezing; especially the ice rink. The printer whirls behind Levi’s office chair while he leans back with his arms stretched out to catch the papers as they slide out. He gathers them together, tapping them once on the desk before flipping open your file and placing them at the back. The start of your fifth week means you’re more than halfway through your estimated treatment plan with Levi.
Levi spins the folder around so it’s facing you and scoots his chair in to lean over it, using his pen to point out specific milestones you have reached. “I think we should change our Wednesdays to off ice days for the remainder of our sessions.” He mentions as he flips through the pages. “Keep Mondays and Fridays as our rink days. Sound alright?” You nod in agreement, following Levi's pen as he goes through a loose schedule of goals he wants to reach over the next couple of weeks.
“Sign here, then we can head down.” He double taps the signature line. “Oh, and you might want to think about reaching out to Tarasov again if you’re serious about getting involved once skating season begins.”
You hadn’t considered how fast the time has gone by. Skating season starts in July and your sessions with Levi are on route to wrap up in just a few weeks. You should be happy, everything you worked for is starting to pay off and soon enough you’ll be working on getting back into competitions. Bit by bit all of your goals are being met, so why does your heart ache for more time?
“You coming, or did you want to spend today’s session staring at my desk?” Levi asks. You’re not sure how long you went without responding to him.
Your mind is elsewhere for the beginning of today’s session while you did your warm up basics, up until you had no choice but to put all of your mental energy into your target goal for today. Levi has you do Waltz jumps until you could do them with your eyes closed. By the time you move onto spins for the rest of your time, you think if you had to do another waltz you’d pull the hair out of your head. That’s the thing about Levi, he understands when something’s too much to handle but once he’s sure you can do it he’s not so easy on you. Funnily enough it’s one of your favorite things about him, and one of the leading reasons you can say you're making progress. He won't let you give up.
***
On Wednesday you show up early again to watch Levi skate. Even though you know you won't be on the ice today, it’s still nice to be around it. Your fear of being turned away fades when he sees you standing at the boards and continues on with his routine anyways. Erwin shows up shortly after you and stands to your left. You can't help but be curious about him. He and Levi seem close, in fact you’ve never really seen Levi talk to anyone casually outside of erwin.
It doesn’t take long for the two of you to start talking, neither of you taking your eyes off Levi. You learn that Erwin is a personal trainer based in the basketball wing of Sina, though he takes clients of any sport. He met Levi seven years ago when he first started working here because surprisingly enough, he’s a huge fan of ice sports. Soon you come to find that Erwin and Levi are a lot closer than you originally assumed. They even hangout outside of work too, though as Erwin put it, “it took some convincing.” With how reluctant Levi is to open up, you believe that.
Levi finishes off with three consecutive jumps before gliding off towards the rink’s exit to get out of his skates.
“He adds one member to the audience and suddenly pulls out the big moves. Show off.” Erwin huffs out a laugh and thanks you for the pleasant conversation before turning and heading off.
Off-ice starts off as it usually would, stretches, ankle exercises, balance board, and spinners. Somewhere down the line you and Levi were practicing throws again. You don't know how it happened but you don’t care. It’s productive because it still helps you build back the skill of landing on your ankle and get used to the feeling of air time again. You slowly work on adding more rotations before landing and eventually Levi feels more comfortable throwing you higher.
You dont think you’ll ever get tired of the feeling of Levi’s hands on you. It feels safe, he makes you feel light. No matter what, you're confident Levi would never put you at risk for another injury. There's no wiggle room in competitive figure skating. Everything has its order, but it doesn't feel that way with him. In a way you almost feel like he sets you free from that mindset. Even if it’s only for a small chunk of time each session. The following week, it’s now just an unspoken part of your routine.
***
You quickly learn that time is not a generous thing, the whole next week of sessions goes by much faster than you expected. You blame this on the fact that the more you worked with Levi the better you were getting. Once you started to get a handle on skating again after so much time off the ice it started to become more fun rather than something you needed to do to heal.
Every day that week, you showed up to watch Levi skate before your sessions. When you weren’t completely mesmerized by him, you took the opportunity to watch his form in real time rather than how he would present it to you during therapy. You think that helped you get things down as quickly as you are.
This week marks the beginning of your last two weeks with Levi, and it’s all that you think about. That’s only six more sessions, two of which aren’t even on the ice. It’s not that you didn't think you were ready, no, you know you are. Levi has talked enough sense into you the last couple weeks to have you sure of that, paired with your progress he showed you in your file. It’s clear that you are recovering and building your skill back to how it was before your accident. It was scary to think about doing this without Levi, you still haven’t taken his advice on reaching out to your old coach. The second you do that it will just feel that much more real. You know how irresponsible it is to put off too, which only made it worse.
Monday you show up to watch Levi skate as usual, quickly noticing that Erwin isn’t here. When he sees you he skates over to the board to greet you, which he usually doesn’t do. When he meets you at the boards he’s quiet for a moment, you can’t quite read the subtle expression on his face.
“Do you want to come out here with me?” He asks, his question throwing you off a little.
“What, like early?” You ask.
“No,” he pauses, brows furrowed lightly. Is he nervous? “To skate.”
“You want me to skate with you?”
“That’s what I said. Hurry up before I change my mind.” He says, pushing off the boards and skating off. That’s all you needed to hear. You pick up your bag and rush over to the bench to put your skates on, triple checking the laces before going out onto the ice with him.
Levi meets up with you in the middle of the rink where you stand. “What should I do?” you ask, feeling lost without your usual directions.
“Whatever you want.” Levi says “Don’t you ever skate for fun?”
You think about it, and you can honestly say that you don't. You haven’t since your accident and even before you can’t think of the last time you went ice skating for anything other than to maintain or improve your skill. “No.” You shake your head lightly.
“Ah,” Levi hums “explains why you’re so damn hard on yourself. You know you should kind of enjoy this right?” His words sink deep, he’s right. You watch him as he zips off, all you can think to do is bits of your program from Nationals. You take out more of the extreme moves knowing Levi wouldn’t want you doing anything you haven’t worked much on during your sessions together.
It’s slow, it’s choppy, but you landed everything you attempted. You stayed balanced on your ankle every time you tried, but it’s so hard to be reminded that it’s not the same. Thoughts creep in swiftly. How could you ever compete again? Especially when even after all the improvement you couldn’t even stitch together a smooth program.
“It’s almost like you don’t need me anymore.” Levi comments as he meets back up with you. You wouldn’t say it outloud to him, but it only made you feel worse. It seems like Levi knows you more than you give him credit for. He doesn’t expand on that thought, but instead he asks if you want to try one with him.
You agree, it would make it fun just like the throws you practice. Levi gives you a sequence that’s easy to follow and of course only includes two of the simpler jumps the two of you have worked on together as of recently. Essentially this is a pairs program, which is entirely new to you.
Levi counts the two of you down to start off together, pushing off in sync you go through the motions with him. He starts off with his hand hovering over your lower back behind you, making sure you stay in line with him. Only when he’s sure you can stay in your path does he pull his hand back, allowing the two of you to go off into your first harmonized spin and jump combo.
After going through the routine two more times it’s almost flawless, even you could tell. You lean over with your hands on your knees “Do you want to try that throw?” You asked through labored breaths, though you were half joking. Levi won’t even entertain it.
“Absolutely not. You need a break anyways.” You catch your breath by the boards with Levi standing across from you, seemingly unphased by the repeated routine the two of you just did.
“Have you ever had Erwin come out here with you?”
“Tried. He says he doesn’t want to become one of my clients.”
You laugh before taking a drink from your water bottle and setting it back down on the ledge. You find yourself thinking over your routine with Levi again, and his words from earlier. You should be having fun skating and it was clear Levi did so you wonder.
“Do you ever miss competing?” You ask him, nervous that he may not appreciate the question.
“Every day.” His answer was not hesitant this time.
“You should get back into it.” You say softly.
“I can’t.” He replies and you can see by the look on his face it’s hard for him to talk about this. He’s being short, but not unwilling.
“Are you kidding? Levi, you’re incredible out there.” Your expression softens as you try to be hopeful, maybe he just needs to hear it from someone.
“That’s not my life anymore.” Out of all the weeks you’ve known him, you’ve never heard him sound so sad. Levi anxiously pulls at the hem of his sleeve before pulling it up and checking his watch “It’s time to start our session.”
You ease off it, watching as he moves to skate towards the center of the rink. For the first time you don’t look forward to your session, the more you complete the more it dawns on you; your time with Levi is almost up.
That’s when it hits you
An idea.
***
Nervous is an understatement. Honestly, you felt like you were driving yourself crazy. When you came up with this idea, you thought it through a million times. It’s the scariest thing because if it doesn’t work out you’re screwed. You couldn’t keep it to yourself, you needed advice, and who better to ask than your best friend.
Mikasa shows up around seven, prepared for your agreed upon sleepover plans made on Monday night with a set of comfy clothes and carry out from your favorite restaurant for dinner. When she let you know Friday night works for her you were thankful the weeks were going by so fast. You let her in and head straight to the couch, where you enjoy the meal while you start the first episode of a new series.
“Well,” Mikasa hums when the two of you mutually decide to take a break from the show. “you’ve been awfully quiet about how it’s going in therapy.”
You smile over at her, turning your body to face her. “Honestly? It was tough at first, I’m not going to lie. It’s a lot better now.”
“So Levi didn’t scare you off then?” She jokes. “He won’t tell me anything, says you’re a client like any other so,” she trails off.
“The opposite actually. He's,” You pause for a moment, breaking your eye contact with Mikasa. “He’s amazing. There’s no way I could have made any of the progress I have without him.” You tell her everything. Your progress in physical therapy, the clever ways Levi challenged your anxiety, even the throws and skating together before your sessions; another thing that became an unspoken addition to your routines with Levi.
“He even opened up a little bit here and there about some of the things he struggled with after his injury.” You mention, and Mikasa’s eyes shoot open. Genuine shock taking over her expression.
“Really?” She breathes.
“Just a little.” You say, shrugging. “I don’t know much, just that it seemed hard. I can’t even imagine.”
Mikasa takes a minute to think about how to respond. “We didn’t see him for over a year. He skipped birthdays, holidays. His mom was sick over it for so long.” Mikasa gets quiet again. “He wasn’t the same for a long time, to this day he won’t speak about it.” It was difficult to hear, but made you wonder why Levi was so different around you. Why would he be more willing to answer your questions over his own family? You were scared more than ever now to bring up the idea you’ve been holding in the whole night.
“It sounds like he really likes you.” Mikasa says. “Seems like he found a friend in you.” It sounds silly, even coming from Mikasa. At the end of the day you aren’t oblivious to the fact that you’re a client of Levi’s, not a friend. As much as you wanted to push back you had more pressing matters on your mind.
“Can I ask you something?” You brace yourself for the words that are about to come out of your mouth.
“Sure,” Mikasa says softly.
“It might sound crazy,” You begin nervously. “I was thinking about asking him to be my coach after therapy is finished. It’s a shot in the dark, but I know I can do it with him.” You can’t help but feel like along with advice, you’re also asking for her blessing.
“I think that’s a great idea.” A warm smile spreads across Mikasa’s face, her eyes lighting up.
***
A long sigh escaped your lips as you plop down on the bench, your whole body surging with ache. Levi had chosen the last week of sessions to work on the more advanced jumps and spins. It was more so to make sure he could send you off to your coach confident that you knew what you were doing, and that you would be able to build your skill back up while training for competitions.
Levi approaches you after he takes his own skates off, bumping your skate with his shoe to get your attention “What’s going on with you.” His tone laced with concern.
“Huh?” You pick your head up, your confusion painted clearly across your face.
“Something’s on your mind. This isn’t the week to lose focus.” He says plainly.
You shake your head, turning your gaze back down and directing your attention back on getting your skates off so there was no chance for him to read your facial expression. Proving him right. “Everything’s fine Levi,” You try to assure him. The truth is, you were trying to wait until the last day to ask him. That way if it went badly you’d never have to face him again. Part of you didn’t even know why you were so worried about it. You set your skate on your lap, dragging a cloth across the blade to dry it before putting it away.
“The past four sessions you’ve been somewhere else. Today you barely even spoke.” His words cut through your chest, you forget how observant he is sometimes. “This is the most important part, I can’t release you unprepared.”
“I didn’t fall once today.” You point out, in fact your session today felt a lot like your regular training. Just practicing to maintain.
“You know that’s not what I meant.” Levi says. “Don’t tell me you’re second guessing about getting back into competitive skating.”
You zip your bag up after dropping your other skate inside, whipping your attention back up at Levi. “No! Of course not.” You assure. Just looking at him hurts a little, you start to doubt your plan. It would uplift his whole career to take you under his wing, it almost felt selfish. You should be able to do this with Tarasov. Hell, she got you to Worlds the first time. You know reaching out to her this late would earn you being scolded for waiting until the last second.
Levi’s knit eyebrows relax and he drops his shoulders, visibly relieved. He stands there for a moment before letting out a sigh and giving up. “Fine, come back on Wednesday more sharp.” He turns around and heads off towards the door, picking up his own skate bag as he walks past it. Panic rises to the surface, you wish you could yell out to him, tell him you don’t want to have to do this with anyone other than him. In an instant you decide that you can do just that. You stand up and grab your bag, haphazardly stuffing your feet into your shoes before taking off after him. Your bag swishes behind you every time your shoes hit the ground
“Levi!” You don’t mean to shout so close behind him. He flinches when you grab his shoulder to stop him, causing him to turn and face you. “I lied, sorry.” you start.
“Alright. So what is it?” Levi says, one eyebrow raised as he tenses up slightly under your light grasp.
“Hear me out, okay?” You bite your lip, waiting for his confirmation and continuing when he tilts his head slightly. “I’ve been thinking about it a lot- the whole week actually. I think I’ve made so much progress with you, and I know this is our last week,” You aren’t holding back, and no matter how much your body screams to do so you don’t look away from him. “And I don’t need an answer right away, it’s sort of a big deal so-“
“Spit it out.” He cuts you off, his puzzled look now replaced with one of nervousness, eyes wide as he looks directly into your eyes.
“Levi, please will you be my coach?” You say it, finally able to catch your breath from the combination of sprinting after Levi and rambling with no breaths in between. “Like my real coach, after we finish therapy.”
Levi stares at you, his jaw slack. He almost looked.. appalled? You wish you knew exactly what’s going through his mind.
“I know it’s a huge request, like I said. Think about it.” You try. “I think we could take gold, really-“
“No.” Levi turns his head, squeezing his eyes shut and gritting his teeth. Like he is physically unable to look at you. Time stands still, this is by far the worst case scenario that you feared.
“Wait..” You say in a hushed tone.
“The answer’s no.” He confirms, lips parted slightly like he wants to say more but nothing comes out. He takes a step back. “Just..I’ll see you Wednesday.” With that he turns completely and walks out, leaving you behind.

Ever wondered where the Veterans would take you on a date?
Contains: Erwin Smith, Levi Ackerman, Hange Zoe
Synopsis: brief Headcannons about where the Vets would take you on a date
Warnings: None
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Erwin smith? Applebee’s💀
lmfao I’m joking, but the way i see it, Erwin strikes me as the goofy, endearingly cringy, single dad type of guy that really believes Applebee’s is the epitome of fine dining. Thankfully, he listens when Levi tells him to have a little class💀
In all seriousness, I think he’d be the type to take you wine tasting, go to see live music performances at local venues, or browsing a cute little craft market on a crisp spring morning.
He’d clean up nice beforehand, probably wear some jeans and a button up shirt, and this man would smell
so
fucking
goodđŸ˜© like fresh powdery cologne and spearmint gum. You’d get in his car and he’d already have your favorite coffee order in the cupholder waiting for you. Omg i love him
Levi Ackerman? Tea shops, local bakeries, art museums, bookstores, theater.
Levi has a love for the arts, and anything intellectually stimulating. He likes to take his time getting to know the person he’s interested in, so he wouldn’t want to do any kind of activity he couldn’t talk during. It’s a common headcannon among us Levi lovers that he’s an acts of service kind of guy, so you know he’ll be always observing what kind of pastries you order, what kind of tea you like, or your favorite genre of book.
When Levi takes interest in someone, he doesn’t take them for granted. He’s always perusing, always chasing, always loving, so diligently. Gas will never be an issue, this man will drive you across town and back 4 times if you asked him to. He plans dates ahead of time, and always comes prepared, with a wallet full of cash and a tank full of gas, and If he ends the night empty handed, he’ll call it a job well done.
Hange Zoe? Hikes, smoke sesh on the roof, metaphysical shops, farmers markets, picnics, nature walks, the zoo.
Hange is one of those earthly granola people. They’re 100% vegan, grounded to the world around them, and a huge animal lover, so i love the idea that they’ll want to go on a hike to bird watch or pet some moss. Just imagine how cute it would be, you’re both walking around in a stream in the woods, pant legs hiked up around your calves, looking for pretty colored stones for your collection. The sun is peaking through the tree line and you both smell like sweat and sunscreen and earth. Hange finds a turtle or a small frog and catches it to show youđŸ„č they make me so soft. They’ll also 100% get sunburnt on their nose and cheeks because they can’t ever remember to apply sunscreen there.
Hange is the type to love taking photos of you on dates, and add them to the photo wall in their apartment. If you go to visit, the two of you will pack a bowl and laugh about the memories you have together as you look over the pictures, some kind of cozy music playing in the background.

my favorite thing will always be domestic levi.
- waking up & seeing him buttoning his shirt in the mirror, having already showered before you due to his inability to sleep in.
- dragging him back into bed with you cus it’s barely 7:30 in the morning and you have all day with nothing to do.
- showering together, gently washing his hair and him kissing your shoulder and wrapping his arms around you from behind.
- him not knowing how to cook very well, but he can make good tea. you stick to the cooking, and he makes drinks. always.
- after the war, he’s not used to so much peace and quiet. he’d always been used to tons of work, always running around, and almost no downtime. most of the time, he has no idea what to do with himself. he found that he enjoys reading a LOT.
- he was very iffy on retiring at first, and it did take a lot of convincing before he finally decided it was time to leave the military and what it did to him in the past. he doesn’t cry a lot, but when he does, he cries hard. almost 40 years of pent-up trauma and emotion will do that to a man, even one as tough as him.
- you & him go to visit erwin and hange’s graves at least twice a month, and you find it slightly heartbreaking that he talks to them, the same way he did when they were alive. quiet and short conversations with what he hopes is their ghosts. you find yourself grabbing his hand and squeezing it when he starts getting shaky.
- sometimes when you can tell he’s in a bad mood, you say you need a hug, but it’s really him that needs it. he doesn’t like asking for affection, so it’s a way to help him get over a bump in the road.
- as most people say, he’s not big on pda, and it’s true, but he will hold your pinkies together when it’s crowded. you’ll think it’s because he doesn’t wanna lose you in the crowd, but he’s so short that he’ll be the one getting lost 💀
- with that being said, he hates it when you poke fun at his height. it’s not that he’s insecure about it, he just finds it annoying that that’s one of the first things people notice about him.
nsfw
- i’m a firm believer in levi with a slight size kink. as isayama said, levi just likes tall people. i think he’d like it if you were able to manhandle him, toss him around, pin him to the bed, shit like that.
- he’s definitely a switch. he’s the softest dom - he’s experienced too much hurt in his life to hurt you in any way - and he’s the most adorable sub.
- when he’s the dom, he’ll be gentle with you. slowly pushing into you, stopping and giving you little breaks if you need them. never degrading, always the sweetest words coming from him. he groans a lot, frequently but quiet enough to where it’s just you that can hear it.
- when he’s the sub, he loves hates being teased. he’s a little embarrassed to beg, but he will if he needs it bad enough. he almost always cries a little, now matter how nice or mean you’re being. definitely louder as a sub, more whiny.
- it doesn’t matter if he’s the dom or sub, he will hold your hand. never fucks without your fingers laced with his. when he’s on top, he’ll have both hands on the sides of your head, holding yours gingerly. it works vice-versa.
- going back to the hurt thing, he’ll never hurt you. BUT. he does like biting. him biting you, you biting him, doesn’t matter. he does it pretty soft, though, but just hard enough to leave marks (very territorial tbh).

When They're Injured
+ Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Marco, Jean, Connie, Sasha, Levi, Erwin, Hange, Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie, Porco, Pieck, Zeke
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eren; ‱ He either pretends to be fine or cries like a baby, there's no in-between. ‱ Most of the time he doesn't even acknowledge your presence in the room. He thinks it's a waste of time watching over him. ‱ Tells you to grow up if he sees you crying over him. ‱ "I have the power of the titans, I'll be fine. Just stop your crying already, it's making me uncomfortable." ‱ Still thanks you for caring though, in his own little way - probably by asking you to be his sparing partner instead of actually saying thank you.
Tumblr media
Mikasa; ‱ Unfazed by her own injuries and cares more about you taking care of yourself. ‱ Stays in bed for a day before she's back working out and doing chores, no matter how bad her injury is. You have to physically restrain her and put her back to bed (it never goes well). ‱ Asks if you've eaten and slept well before you get the chance to ask her. ‱ She's grateful for everything you do while she's recovering. ‱ She picks you some flowers afterwards to say thank you. She even cooks you food.
Tumblr media
Armin; ‱ Upset. You console and reassure him a lot because he keeps crying about being weak. ‱ You read to him though, and even play chess while he recovers. ‱ You promise to train him some more when he's able bodied so that he feels better prepared next time. ‱ You bring him food but he refuses to eat it. You end up doing the "here comes the train" thing with him to force him to eat out of embarrassment. ‱ You brought him flowers and he loved the gesture so much that he now uses one of the dried flowers as a book mark.
Tumblr media
Marco; ‱ Grateful to be alive. ‱ He sometimes panics and has nightmares that he's back on the field where he was injured and you have to calm him down. ‱ He sometimes gets annoyed at you for always being beside him because he knows you're not looking after yourself properly. ‱ Forces you to leave so you'll finally wash and eat. ‱ Jean also visits often and you all share stories about your childhoods. The duo never fail to make you laugh.
Tumblr media
Jean; ‱ Dramatic. Does the whole "don't look at me, I'm hideous" thing, and refuses to let you into the room. ‱ You have to physically stop him from covering his face and reassure him that he's just as beautiful as before. ‱ He switched up real fast after that and pretended he wasn't even injured to try and impress you. He went from being a cry baby to trying to work out with a broken arm. ‱ You gave up trying to stop him because he wouldn't listen to anything. ‱ Cries when he's alone because he doesn't think he's strong enough.
Tumblr media
Connie; ‱ Doesn't change a thing. He's still just as idiotic as before. ‱ Laughs it off. He keeps telling jokes so he won't think about it and if he's laughing then he's happy. ‱ Wants you by his side always, and get upset when you need to leave. ‱"Y/N, I'm telling you, I'm immortal." ‱ He doesn't really cry, he had a few tear when he was alone, but he's more focused on training when he's better so it doesn't happen again. ‱ Secretly likes being injured because you're particularly nice to him.
Tumblr media
Sasha; ‱ Dramatic. She thinks the worlds is going to end. Gathers you, Jean and Connie around as she says her "last goodbyes". ‱ It only takes you waving some meat in her face for her to snap out of it and start acting normal again. ‱ Sobs into your arm. She's more worried about if she'll be able to eat and hunt again than her actually injuries. ‱ Food works better than medicine.
Tumblr media
Levi; ‱ Sleeps it off. He'll be fine the next morning. ‱ Hates when you baby him. Even if you're just being nice, like bringing him food, he'll think you're being condescending and gets pissed off. ‱ It really doesn't take long for him to recover, but Erwin orders him to take time off to be sure - you're happy Levi will always have Erwin looking out for him. ‱ You leave him little notes instead of actually staying with him. He smiles to himself when he sees them, he adore the little things.
Tumblr media
Hange; ‱ Refuses to stay in bed. Levi knocks them out to force them into bed. ‱ They get bored very easy. Erwin doesn't let them work while they recover, so most days they just sit and stare at the ceiling. ‱ Gets a little dramatic and starts crying because they can't visit their titans. So you visit them yourself and draw them for Hange - even if you're bad at drawing, they are overjoyed. ‱ Cries when you bring them flowers.
Tumblr media
Erwin; ‱ He's appears fine externally, has a strong mentality and is sure he'll heal in no time. ‱ No matter what he's still working, you have to physically pry the papers from his hands so he'll actually rest for once. ‱ He gets kind of annoyed at the babying. He just wants you to see that he's okay to work, but you have none of it. ‱ You buy him flowers and other little trinkets - like a little girl was selling knitted teddy bears, so you bought him one. He got emotional after that because he realised how much you meant to him.
Tumblr media
Reiner; ‱ Goes through a crisis. He's used to being injured, but not this badly. ‱ It takes him a lot of willpower to not just heal it in front of you. ‱ Spends most night debating if it would be easier to just die. ‱ Some days he doesn't know who he is and acts like a soldier and others Bertholdt has to remind him that there are bigger things out there and he has to pull through so they can go home. ‱ On they days where he's a warrior, he pushes you away, only letting Bertholdt and Annie in the room with him.
Tumblr media
Bertholdt; ‱ Pushes everyone away, aside from Reiner - not even Annie can see him like that. ‱ Gets unnecessarily angry. Debates just turning and finishing the mission right then and there, and he was about to when you turned up. You made his whole world stop and he just stared at you. ‱ He cried into your arms that night, and most nights after. He'd never felt so vulnerable. He thought you were the one who came to save him. ‱ You knew he was feeling better when he went back to his "synchronised sleeping," as you called it, and you'd find him with his head nearly on the floor.
Tumblr media
Annie; ‱ Stoic, as per usual. ‱ Hates when you make a fuss. ‱ "It will heal. Please, give me some space." ‱ Doesn't push people away, just kind of distances herself. For example, she doesn't spar with people when she's feeling better, she uses a training dummy instead. ‱ Only happy when you're with her. She wouldn't admit it though. ‱ She wants you to stay, but would never go out of her way to ask you too.
Tumblr media
Porco; ‱ He gets dismissive. Uses the word "whatever" like it's going out of fashion. ‱ You try to reassure him but he just gets defensive. "Stop it. You're acting like I'm going to die. I'll just heal overnight. You're so dramatic." ‱ Secretly enjoys the attention. He's not used to people willingly caring for him. He normally bullies people into following him around, but you do it out of the kindness of your heart. ‱ You praise him for being so brave and it makes him blush.
Tumblr media
Pieck; ‱ She loves that you stay with her. She thanks you everyday. ‱ Holds your hand a lot. ‱ You talk about whatever but most of the time there's just a comfortable silence. ‱ For some reason, she thinks the best when she's injured. Meaning she still attends strategy meetings, but asks you to go with her for support.
Tumblr media
Zeke; ‱ Refuses to stay in bed, no matter how bad the injury. ‱ He sleeps for about 3 hours, and heals in that time. After that he just walks around like normal, still doing his work like he wasn't floored a few hours ago. ‱ You barely get the time to worry about him. He appreciates the sentiment though. He likes when you worry about him, it makes him finally feel cared about. ‱ He does spend more time with you after that. After seeing your reaction he realised how much he actually likes you, how much he cares for you.

𝐜𝐹𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐱𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐹 đ„đžđŻđą
Tumblr media
context: finally confessing to Levi after failed attempts (gender neutral reader)
warnings: none, just fluff
character: Levi Ackerman from AOT
m.list
“I love you, Levi Ackerman”
“Excuse me?” Catching Levi off guard was rare, few had ever seen it, Levi himself had rarely even experienced it. He was always on guard, always aware of his surroundings, ready for anything. But not this. Not your sudden confession. In the middle of dinner, surrounded by everyone. Erwin and Hange looking between you and Levi, completely silent, anticipating your response.
“Listen, I tried, I really really tried to keep it in. But goodness it’s been hard. And it’s not like I haven’t tried confessing at better times, it just always seems you’re busy, and it’s impossible to be alone with you, so I just had to tell you
” you trail off when you see all the eyes on you. The whispering and giggling of the other soldiers somewhat discouraging your words, but it wasn’t their opinion or response you cared about. It was Levi’s.
Levi frowns, pinching the space between his brows, closing his eyes for a few seconds before finally straightening up. Grey eyes meeting yours. “This is hardly the place to discuss such matters Y/n. Come with me”
“Oh-uh, someone’s in trouble”
“Shut up Hange” you whisper yell as you follow Levi out from the mess hall. Awkwardly laughing at the other soldiers who watched the two of you.
“Are you trying to be funny?”
“No sir” came past your lips before you could even process the words. It wasn’t like you had thought it all through, confessing to him in public. Basically yelling it for everyone to hear. Did you consider the fact it would make Levi uncomfortable and angry? No, no you did not. “Commander, do you realize how hard I’ve tried to confess in a
better circumstance?”
Levi sighs, clearly annoyed. His arms crossed under his chest as he looked you dead in the eyes. His patience was running short, yet, he seemed to let you finish talking. “Go on”
“Wait, really?”
“You either talk or I walk away”
Your lips part, ready to tell him all the times you had tried confessing, but nothing came out. Why was he letting you tell him? After you had embarrassed yourself, and maybe even him, in front of all the soldiers. Why did he care?
Levi took a step back and you quickly stammer to find your words. “Right! Uhm! There was that one time in your office!”
“Here are the papers from Commander Erwin” you hand the papers to Levi, throat slightly dry as you take on the courage to say the next part. “A-also, I was wondering if you’re free for a drink anytime after work”
Levi didn’t answer at first, sitting in his office chair, going through the papers you had handed him. “I don’t drink” he said simply, not lifting his gaze from the papers.
“Oh, that’s fine. We can, uhm, go out for tea?”
“Why would I go out for tea when I have it right here”
You look down at the teacup in front of him, steam still swirling in the air from the hot liquid. He wasn’t wrong, why bother going out for tea when he, in fact, had it right here? “I was just asking because it was would be nice to get to know you better, like, a dat—”
Your words die out once the door to the office opens, a breathless Hange entering the tidy room. “Levi, Y/n, there’s an emergency!”
“That was you asking me out? You think I heard your mumbling about a date?” Levi scoffs, seeming unamused. “And you gave up after that sorry attempt?”
“Well, no” you say embarrassed, looking down at the ground. Clearing your throat as you recall one of the other times. “Remember the time at the stables?”
You were taking care of your horse, as usual. It was calming more than anything. Brushing your horses mane, making sure she was clean and fed well. Giving her occasional kisses and sneaking extra apples for her. You also enjoyed it because your horse was placed in the stall next to Levi’s horse. You often saw him take care of his companion whenever you were there doing the same. The way he took such gentle care of the horse, it didn’t exactly help with your feelings for the man. “Uhm, Levi, do you ever wanna, I don’t know, go on a casual ride with our horses?”
“Casual ride?” He seemed almost offended and you regret even asking. “What, so we can exhaust the horses even more. They’ve been through enough, do you not think so?”
“Right right right, you’re absolutely right, mhm, sorry for bringing it up”
“Casual ride. Not good enough”
You let out a slight groan, hiding your face in your hands. “I know I know, I was so embarrassed afterwards. But that wasn’t even the last time I tried
I was so determined to confess or ask you out, embarrassment wasn’t enough to stop me. Remember, uhm, when we were training and—”
“You fell on top of me?” He finishes your sentence. “It’s not exactly something I can forget Y/n”
Sweat was running down your brow, heart beating in your ears as you train with Levi. He often picked you to train with, you weren’t really sure why, because more often than not, you fell straight on your ass or face and got made fun of by Hange. But it did make you stronger, even faster, your reflexes had also improved.
“Hey Levi, I know you’re busy, but maybe we can talk in private after this?” You ask, sword at the ready as he stood opposite from you. Arms flexed, swords in both hands as he made his fighting stance.
“Tell you what, you beat me and I’ll listen to your rambling for once”
Hearing Levi’s response definitely made you more determined to win. Perhaps too determined. You don’t know how, but somehow throughout the fight, you had landed on top of Levi. His back hit the ground, and you hit, well, him. More specifically, his crotch.
“Oh
oh my
oh” you were speechless, watching as he groaned underneath you. Safe to say, there was no talking afterwards and Hange had two people to tease that day.
“So you gave up after that?” He asked after recalling the memory. He wasn’t dumb, he was very aware of your feelings for him. Often catching you staring, not to mention the special treatment you gave him. Asking if he was cold, asking if he wanted your food if he was still hungry, asking if he was tired. Just, making sure he was okay.
“Well, clearly not. Didn’t you hear me saying I love you in the mess hall?”
“I think everyone heard” Levi scoffed, studying your expression. You didn’t seem too embarrassed. But you didn’t seem like your usual self either. He knew why, he hadn’t exactly reacted to your confession. Not telling you if he felt the same or rejected you. “Y/n, I don’t date”
You stay quiet, lifting your head to look at him. Swallowing hard and putting on the realest smile you were able to. “I figured as much, I just, needed you to know I love you. I couldn’t keep it in anymore, even if you don’t feel the same”
“That’s not what I said” he corrected, gaze not leaving yours. His arms uncrossed, resting by his sides. Sleeves rolled up to his elbows, the small scars from battle visible on his forearms. You always thought he looked so handsome in his casual wear, and you always wanted to tell him, this didn’t exactly seem like the right time to.
“Oh uhm, what do you mean?”
“I didn’t say I don’t feel the same. I just said I don’t date”
It was your turn to frown, not understanding what he meant. If he doesn’t want to date you, doesn’t that mean he doesn’t feel the same?
“Whether I love you or not doesn’t matter, I don’t do relationships. We don’t have time for that as soldiers. Neither do I want to get too attached to you, anything can happen, we lose soldiers everyday Y/n. I don’t want to be carrying your dead body back to the walls, feeling heartbroken and attached and getting distracted”
“But
” looking away, you decide it’s better not to disagree with him. He was your captain after all, he had authority over you and you followed his commands.
“Go on, speak your mind. It’s not like you to back off from it”
If you were in a better mood you would have laughed, but considering the situation, it didn’t seem like the right time. “If you feel anything for me Levi, wouldn’t it hurt either way to carry my dead body back to the walls? If you love me, but don’t act on it, it doesn’t change the fact you do love me, the feelings are there. And you might not only be sad if you lose me, but wouldn’t you regret never having acted on your feelings? Why do you think I never gave up on confessing? I tried multiple times exactly because of the fact we risk our lives every day. If I lost you and I never had the chance to tell you how I feel, I would regret it for the rest of my life
but that’s just
my
opinion” your words trail off, realizing you might have gotten too emotional, raised your voice a little too much.
It was too quiet, Levi not saying anything nor was he moving. You didn’t dare look at him, keeping your gaze down at the ground. Staring at his boots that always seemed so clean.
“I don’t regret my decisions” you hear Levi’s voice, softer than it usually is. His fingers wrapping around your chin and lifting your face to look up at him. “I don’t date
but maybe I can make an acception for you” his deep silver eyes look into yours, fingers brushing against the skin on your jaw. He was being surprisingly gentle, not wanting to push you away. His gaze softens at your expression, seeing the confusion and surprise clear on your face. “I’m saying I
I love you too, and I want to take care of you, more than I’ve taken care of you before. You’re right, I don’t want to regret it in the end”
Without hesitation, you wrap your arms around his slender waist and pull him close to you. Feeling the warmth of his body against yours and the subtle change in his heartrate picking up. His arms slowly returning your embrace. “Okay I don’t feel so embarrassed about confessing in front of everyone now”
“Not so fast, I’m still putting you on extra cleaning duty for that”
“Levi!!!”

"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." - Emily Brontë, 'Wuthering Heights'
Tumblr media
Erwin had always been perfect.
Picturesque and put-together - it was like a man made just for you walked right from your dreams into reality.
He was charismatic, a gentleman with enough old-fashioned values to be charming. He made you feel like the only person who mattered in the world - something quite foreign to you prior to meeting him - and to him you really were the only person who mattered. Erwin loved you, and there was not a single doubt about it.
You didn’t know he wasn’t perfect - that he wasn’t, in every way, flawlessly carved and molded by gods - until you moved in with him. By then it was too late to back out. By then you didn’t want to - you liked how the ring on your finger looked too much.
Actually, for the first week things went smoothly. Like clockwork. None of it bothered you - too high on finally getting what you wanted to realize how in danger you were. At the time, your rose-colored glasses were blood red. Nothing was a problem until you started wanting to take them off.
Mainly because Erwin wasn’t letting you.
Meals were always cooked by him - which at first you liked, but he wouldn’t let you make anything just to be nice, if you wanted something he always made it. He barely let you put things from the fridge onto the bench.
“All you have to do,” he’d say, pressing himself in between your legs as you sat on the countertop next to the sink, “is sit there and look pretty.” His hands would move up from your knees to your thighs, sinking into the meat of your hips to pull you closer. “You do it so well for me.”
Then he’d kiss you for all your worth, still with his apron on and shirt sleeves rolled up past his elbows, and you’d forget why you wanted to do anything else except watch in the first place.
It was like that for a lot of things. Cooking and washing. Even work or shopping - the only time you went out of the house together was for dates, otherwise outside of your home he was never with you and you were never with him. You’d pout about it, kick up a fuss, and he’d sedate you with a few carefully placed words, hands, kisses, and occasionally his cock.
Each time it worked. Because you let it.
But months went past, and you didn’t want to keep playing the naïve and pliant partner. Because while you were most content being pliant, you weren’t a naïve person.
You wanted to know what was going on.
Tumblr media
Erwin had taken an afternoon of work at home. He retreated into his study an hour ago and the house had been quiet since.
But you sat in the living room watching the embers of the morning's fire finally die off, and your mind was anything but quiet. There was something about Erwin, about this house, that didn’t quite feel right. Like something was missing - and it wasn’t a fucking child.
You wanted to know what it was. You needed to know.
You slowly moved from the leather couch, and like a ghost you went and stood in Erwin’s doorway.
He was standing also, near the window at the back of the room, reading over a handful of papers. He didn’t look like he noticed you there, but you knew he knew. Erwin always did.
“Do you need something?” he asked quietly, not looking up. You stood with your arms at your sides, unmoving.
“What do you do without me?” You surprised yourself at how saccharine your voice was. It made Erwin’s head lift, and he looked at you - finally - with a frown as he set the papers down.
“What do you mean?”
“Why don’t you let me do things with you.” you said, “You’re keeping secrets and I don’t like it. I feel like they’re too big for you to keep keeping them hidden.”
“You deserve to not have to worry.” he said, starting to step forward. You knew what he was going to do - he’d done it a hundred times to get you to stop asking questions - but this time you weren’t going to let him. You weren’t playing dumb anymore. You took a step back.
“That answer is so rehearsed, Erwin.” you said, “It’s good to stick to one story, helps avoid suspicion. Normally. But I just want you to be honest with me.”
You watched his storm blue eyes as they tracked your face. Soon he was mere inches away, and his fingers came up to graze your cheek - you would normally lean into it, but not right now. You had a point to prove.
Seeing this, his fingers moved lower, his hand wrapped around your neck - his palm on your throat, and his fingers pressed into the muscle under your jaw. If you closed your eyes it would be all you could feel, but right now it was like he was barely there.
“You want to know?” he asked. Your pulse picked up but you weren’t afraid. It was a show of strength and control, but you weren’t bending, you weren’t breaking. Not yet. “You’ll never see me the same way, I want you to remember me like I am now.”
“I want to know you as you really are.” Erwin’s hand moved from your throat down to your ribcage, resting warm on your side as he leant to press a kiss to the corner of our mouth.
“If you’re so sure,” he said, nose brushing your cheek, “I think then I’ll finally let you see our basement.”
Tumblr media
Erwin never let you in the basement.
He said it was either too cold, or too dark for you to be allowed to go in. His precious little wife couldn’t be getting sick or hurt because of something that could be avoided.
In all honesty, you’d never had an interest in the basement anyway - months passed and you’d never once thought to go down there. All that was there was the boiler and a few chest freezers you used to store meat - both things Erwin looked after or did himself.
But now you were at the bottom of the stairs, watching as Erwin pulled on a leather butchers apron, with dust collecting around your feet.
It was cold in the basement. Dark too, even with the single bright white light on.
“I meant to deal with this carcass this afternoon,” he said, watching you watch him. You weren’t sure if to believe your husband's little secret was that he liked butchering animals on the side. As cruel as it sounded, it was still perfectly normal. “It might be nice having some company. They’re not really very conversational.”
That set off a little bell in the back of your head. Like ‘hey, that’s a little weird’ - like ‘hey, that's what you’d hear from someone who worked in a morgue not in a butchers cool room’. But like all the other alarms, bells, and flags, the red danger signs went right over your head.
Erwin approached one of the freezers - you watched as he lifted the door with one arm (and noted how his shirt strained over his shoulders, but you were still making a point, so it was set aside for later). The door propped open, then Erwin leant down and grabbed the carcass inside.
When it slung over his shoulder, you weren’t met with the beheaded shoulders and skinned muscle of a sheep - or even a goat or small deer -instead there was a face. Open eyed and lifeless, with a face drained of color and covered in frostbite.
You watched, with some morbid curiosity - or shock - as your gentle and doting husband effortlessly hung a lifeless human body by his jaw from the butcher's hook on the ceiling of your basement.
It slowly dwelled on you what exactly had been happening these past few weeks. That this had been happening the entire time you’d known Erwin Smith.
It was strange how you didn't notice it before. Watching now though, as he carved through muscle and sinew with a practiced and surgical ease, that he was not just dismantling this man for the sake of being able to hide his remains easier. He really did look like a man working in a slaughterhouse - and how he spoke of this man like he was an animal born and bred to be eaten.
Your thoughts went to the first time he served you venison - you said it tasted strange. He said it was an acquired taste - but you had been raised on fresh deer from your uncle's farm for years. You knew you loved it.
He gave you beef - likewise you asked where he got it from. His excuse at that time was that it was different when it was newly slaughtered. Again, for the same reason, now you knew it was a lie.
You couldn’t look away from how he skinned this man, how he knew which sections to carve away and keep, and which to throw away. He worked at it like a well oiled machine - all the while talking to you as if it was the most normal, casual thing in the whole world.
You thought you were going to be sick, you could even feel it sitting in your throat. All you did was slowly sit down on the stairs behind you, and kept on watching.

Dinner was made equally by the both of you that night.
Although you didn’t once touch the meat - not even to cook it. You knew where it came from - you saw this flesh pulled right away from its bones just hours ago. You remembered what Erwin looked like as he carved up another collection of meat you would’ve been eating from for the next few weeks - how his hair was mused and his pupils were blown wide. And as the body thawed, how he slowly became covered in more and more blood.
That night you could swear his reflection in the dining room mirror had horns.
And you saw how Erwin looked when he collected your plate after you finished, you saw the look in his eyes when he realised what you thought about what he’d done. What you thought about him.
There were no secrets now - and seemingly everything was still going over smoothly. You hadn’t made a fuss, you hadn't run away, you hadn’t called anyone, you barely even mentioned it, but there was just something. A little nagging something. It was telling you that not everything was right between Erwin and you anymore.
Like you weren’t quite sure if you were going to be safe with him or not.
Sat at your vanity, you slowly worked through your nighttime routine as Erwin dressed for bed behind you. You were caught between keeping an eye on Erwin and completely focusing on your task at hand. A question that had been sitting in your stomach since that afternoon bubbled into your throat.
“Who was that man?” you asked quietly.
“You didn’t recognise him?” Erwin replied, surprise in his voice as he turned to you. “I found him hard to forget.” Figures - Erwin did kill him, you’d expect him to remember. However, why you’d know him went right over your head.
“Of course I don’t,” you said, quietly speaking as Erwin’s hands rested on your shoulders, kneading at the tense muscle underneath them. You only just managed to stop yourself from flinching at his sudden touch. “Should I?”
“No,” he said. You saw him smile as he lent to litter a few small, soft - almost shy - kisses along your neck. “I wouldn’t want you worrying about a man who did such a vulgar thing.”
“What do you mean
” Your breath was taken by lips mouthing under your ear before you could finish your sentence. Heartbeat and eyes both fluttering on habitual instinct at the hands that had now wandered to tempt the delicate skin hidden under your shirt.
“Don’t worry.” He said, sounding like a command - having had your curiosity shocked into submission, you folded like you normally would.
After all, with his wandering hands, smooth words, and suckling mouth, who would worry.

Erwin once told you that pleasure was the best distraction from pain. Most of the time he was right. It had worked so far.
But that night after he fucked you long and hard and deep, as he lay dead asleep to the whole world, you lay awake. There was still a dull ache between your legs - still sticky too - and parts of your bare skin stuck to his from sweat left mostly unattended, but those weren’t the thoughts on your mind.
You remembered who the man was.
There was a bar you and Erwin went to only a few days ago - one of those perfect dates procured by a perfect husband. A dimly lit building, with tall tables you had to stand at. You’d dressed per Erwin’s request - a little dress that had you wanting to feel yourself as much as he was feeling you.
However it was gaining more attention than was appreciated.
A man - the man who’d met his demise at the hands of your husband - had indeed been quite vulgar. You weren’t quite sure how you forgot about it - perhaps the shock that there was anyone in your basement freezer had all other thoughts leave your mind.
But at the time it happened, you were sure something downright horrible could’ve happened to you if Erwin wasn’t there. That man was not kind or polite. He was no gentleman. He wasn’t going to treat you right, how you deserved to be treated. He wasn’t Erwin.
Like the knight in shining armor he always had been, Erwin was there - he dismissed the man and worked twice as hard to make sure you both forgot all about him. You certainly forgot, he however clearly did not.
It made you wonder how many other meals Erwin had made of men or women who treated you less than he thought was due.
You felt yourself curl into Erwin’s side. Your leg lifted over his, and even in his sleep his arm held you even tighter. Despite everything, he wasn’t going to hurt you. You felt safe with him. Most of all, you trusted him to keep you feeling safe.
He would do anything to keep you safe.

Erwin was quite understanding about you going completely off red meat.
For a while he really couldn’t blame you. However he was a little concerned. The sudden change in your diet was starting to show - physically and emotionally. His way of trying to get you to eat properly again was taking you out when he went to get groceries.
Normally he liked this time for himself - he found it calming, sorting through fruits and vegetables, picking and choosing the best for both him and you. Having you with him was different - but he found he liked you company just the same. You had a good eye, one he’d have to utilize more.
His main reason was proving to you that there were meats you could eat - look, there was beef and lamb both in the cart. All pre-packaged and perfectly normal meats to cook and serve for dinner - you’d have them tonight, he decided when he saw your eyebrows raise at the sight of them.
What you hadn’t known about his grocery trips, and what he had forgotten to tell you on that morning, was the cashier that always worked registers on the days Erwin was shopping.
She was a little older than you, but only half as pretty (although Erwin was sure that was debatable to some - not to him). She had a habit of attempting to make advances at him - all unfruitful, and all a little embarrassing to watch. Erwin thought nothing of them, perhaps he felt annoyed on occasion, but otherwise paid her no mind no matter how persistent she was.
He half hoped that bringing you along with him would make her cease. She just acted like you weren’t there at all.
However she clearly had caught you completely by surprise.
For a moment, Erwin caught a look on your face. Dark and unlike anything he’d ever seen on your features before. Something about how you held yourself was always so soft - but this was sharper than a razor's edge. He always liked your softness. He liked this too, but again it was different. He may have liked it more.
He didn’t even realize that the cause of the change was because she bothered you more than she bothered him. Not until much later.

You’d learnt two things from being married to Erwin.
One was that you could get away with anything. You could ask Erwin for anything, and it would be yours as soon as humanly possible. You could ask the same from others and they’d listen  - not just because of who you married, but also because you just had a face that could get away with it.
The second was exactly the same thing - only it held a brand new meaning after finding out what secrets were held in the basement; you could get away with anything. Even murder.
Erwin was out for dinner - something he hated, but business must do what business does - and so were all your closest neighbors - holidays or dinners, as was the routine come around Friday night. You had the house, the whole neighborhood almost, to yourself.
But after a strategically placed grocery visit two days prior, you were not going to be alone tonight.
You almost laughed at her - the foolish cashier who’d so eagerly agreed to coming over to dine with you tonight - because of her cluelessness. Because she couldn’t see danger when it was standing right in front of her.
Besides from the company, it was a nice night out - hence why you took it outside on the barbeque table. Well, aside from the fact it would be easier to clean up outside than inside.
“What is this?” she asked, carving out a hefty piece of the steak you prepared and eyeing it.
“Wagyu. Japanese.” Your foot swayed carelessly from where your legs crossed, the grass tickled the bottom of your bare foot. “Some of the best you’ll get your hands on.”
“Really?” She said, believing you and putting it in her mouth. Even though she worked in a supermarket, she didn’t know any better - you were betting on it - and she couldn't tell otherwise anyway. “You’re not going to have any?”
“Oh, no.” you said, smiling into your red wine, “When you have it so often you lose your taste for it.”
That was about the most truth you’d said at once the whole night - from the happy greeting to just now. Of course the steak you served wasn’t Wagyu - if it was you’d definitely be eating it. In reality it was one of the last cuts left of the man you’d seen Erwin first butcher.
You really hoped he wouldn’t mind you using it up - after all he would be getting a whole new carcass in return for one steak. In your mind that was a very generous trade.
“It’s actually quite amazing,” she said, leaning back on the bench seat opposite you, “You’re such a good cook.”
“I learnt from the best.” you said, adjusting the knife on your place set and putting your glass down. “Would you like another glass?” You asked, standing to take her empty whiskey tumbler in your hand.
“That would be great.” she said, then turned back to her food. You walked away with a smile - it disappeared as soon as the sliding door shut behind you. You poured another shot into her glass - not wasting another top shelf liquor now she wasn’t around to see the difference - and eyeing her through the glass door with a look that could kill.
Before you went back outside, you took a trip down into the basement. Erwin always kept the kitchen carving knives sharp - but the ones downstairs? You knew they moved through flesh like it was warm butter.

Erwin swore he heard a broken scream as he pulled his car into the driveway.
There was an unfamiliar car in the driveway too, and you were home alone - and it made him very, very worried.
He grabbed his briefcase from the passenger seat, then made his way inside without wasting any time. His bag was dumped carelessly right by the door, and he called your name, multiple times.
At the end of the hallway, beyond the sliding door that led outside, he saw you walking up the deck stairs from the barbeque table. He practically ran to you, but stopped just beyond the kitchen doorway when he really, truly saw you.
You stood just outside, one hand on the glass door frame while the other held a knife - one he knew lived in the basement. Blood ran down your arm onto the silver blade - blood was everywhere. It was all over your face and satin dress, one he loved to see you wear on dates, and now it was ruined.
Well, ruined was a harsh word. If he were being honest, he'd say it had quite improved now. He liked the look of blood on you. From the twitching in his slacks, he really like it.
“You’re home early.” you said. His lips parted, partially in shock at how casual you were acting, and partially because he just couldn’t quite believe the implications of what he was seeing.
“You wanted me gone longer?” he asked, breathless. He watched you shift from one foot to the other - watched the fabric of your dress glide over the flesh of your stomach and the plush of your thighs, watched a drop of blood slide from off your chin down between your breasts. His jaw went slack, chest filled with a longing to follow the red trail with his tongue.
“Actually no,” you said, still playing aloof, gesturing behind you with the knife, “I don’t think I can move her on my own.”
“‘Her’?” Erwin found his voice still came out soft, unbelieving. He felt like he just walked into a dream.
“Your little supermarket girlfriend.” Your lips curled up into a snarl as you spoke - your eyes held the return of that dark look he’d only seen once before. You were angry. You were jealous. He’d never wanted you more.
“She was not my -”
“- It doesn’t matter what she was or wasn’t. Not anymore,” you said, looking at him with enough force to have him rendered mute, “Just help me move her downstairs.”
The knife was thrown carelessly onto the dining table - red droplets scattered on impact - before you turned on your bare heel and walked back in the direction you came from. Only once he watched you walk down the stairs did he manage to move. He was sure this wasn’t really happening - it was far too good to be true - yet if this were a fantasy he wanted to see just how far it went before he woke up.
Erwin’s suit jacket and die was discarded on the wooden decking the moment he saw you with the cashier’s body. You stood over her with her chin in your hand, her head tilted back so you could get a good look at the clean gash that ran from one side of her neck all around to the other.
He watched you in a daze as you stood straight up, her wrist between your bloodied fingers, and waited. You’d never looked more in-control than you had now - for the first time he found himself standing quite dumbstruck, waiting for you to tell him what to do.
“Heart’s slowed.” you said, “Should’ve lost enough blood to be fatal. Freezing her will help.”
“How do you know?”
“Cut both carotids.” you said. You looked up at him though your eyelashes, head low and voice soft. You looked like a devil. “Honey, I’m not stupid.”
Erwin had never been more in love.
Tumblr media
There had been a freezer cleared, you knew that already, and despite the fact you would’ve struggled carrying someone your own size inside and downstairs - Erwin did so with little effort.
While he was busy, you couriered the remaining dinner dishes inside to the sink, and swaddled the blanket the cashier was sitting on inside to get washed. The thing was an absolute mess, soaked through in places. It’d probably be easier to get rid of it.
You had just finished outside when Erwin returned to meet you in the kitchen. His whole effort took less than ten minutes.
He had stained his shirt - chest, arms, all down his back - and his hands were slick. There was even a mark of it on his cheek. A mark of her.
You walked over, intent on wiping away the red herring, but found your efforts only made it worse. Your hand was covered in blood too. There was an unusual anger rising inside you. One the rivalled frustration but burned white hot.
But Erwin’s hand slid up from your forearm and gently wrapped around your wrist - he mirrored your position and pressed your palm into his cheek. His other hand pulled your body close to his, and your free arm hung dumbly at your side.
“What are you doing?” you asked - this time you were the one that sounded breathless, although you didn’t completely understand why. Maybe the adrenaline wore off, maybe you were realizing what you had done - but really it was neither of those things.
You saw that look in Erwin’s eye - you knew yours looked exactly the same.
“I’m processing.” he said, eyes fluttering about but never once leaving your face. His cheek was so warm. “Processing how my wife is even more beautiful now than on our wedding day.” You felt your feet shuffle closer as he pushed you back so your waist hit the counter’s edge.
He was hypnotising you, lulling into a cloudy haze with his movements and with his eyes and it lay thick and heavy on your tongue - but its bitter weight had never tasted sweeter than it did now.
“Kiss me,” you whispered.
Tumblr media
The kitchen tiles and the marble countertops were not a pleasant place to be intimate. You knew it, and so did Erwin. Hence why he pulled you across the room with hungry, wet kisses onto the dinner table.
Your dress had been pushed up above your hips so fast it almost tore the fabric, and Erwin hadn’t wasted any time honing in on the wet spot on your underwear. One he seemed intent on making as large as possible.
He knelt at the end of the table - the chair had been hastily kicked aside - and had eased you to lie down with your legs thrown over his shoulders. As his teeth and tongue worked at making a wet mess of your inner thighs, his hand wandered up your dress to cup your breast, mindlessly toying with the bud in between two fingers.
The blood from his cheek smeared into the spit on your leg, and as he groped the fat at your chest he could feel the sticky red catch under his fingers.
You couldn’t help the way your eyes fluttered closed at feeling him all over you in such a way - an action that hadn’t gone unnoticed by your husband.
His mouth moved from your thighs to over your clit, hidden under your panties, and he laid a kiss there so gentle that it made your entire body jolt. Then his mouth opened, and he treated your lower lips with the same generosity previously granted the ones above. That was what you had been waiting for, it was what you were most craving, and he was reading you like an open book.
Unlike your dress, Erwin’s urgency to rid his current workspace of fabric was less than enthusiastic - the drag of thin cotton and elastic was slow, achingly so. He was teasing you, and as your frustrations grew so did your longing. He knew it.
The slow drag of his tongue up your slit to your clit almost had your back keening right off the table. It was enough to feel, but it wasn’t right. You needed so much more. Driven by need, both your hands went to his head, gripping to his hair for dear life as you urged his face closer to where you needed it - blindly angling your hips up to meet his waiting mouth.
Eventually, his mouth met the place you needed him most. Bare, open, wet and waiting. His lips went right to your cunt, opening over your core and his tongue dove right in. His nose pressed up to your clit, and you heard him breathe in deep.
The sounds he was making were absolutely sinful.
Erwin barely pulled away to speak, mouth still connected to your cunt with the slick he was conjuring - he was speaking into you as much as he was speaking up at you.
“Getting to have you like this is perfect.” He sounded like he was going to cry. “I’ve been waiting so long. So long.”
And then, as if his mouth even left you, he returned with twice the vigor. His shoulders shoved into the backs of your thighs, but his grip on your hips pulled you in further, pressing the curved line of his nose deeper into your slit. The sudden intensity made your thighs quiver.
“Erwin, p-lease.” you moaned, voice broken and choking on nothing but air as your fingers pulled relentlessly on his once-perfect blond hair.
“Yes, c’mon baby,” he mumbled, eyes fluttering open and closed - unable to decide on focusing on pleasing you or watching how pleased you were - “Use me. Please. Show me you need me.”
“Need you.” you breathed, legs curling over his shoulders. “Need you so bad Erwin.”
All he did in reply was hum - the feeling spread from your cunt all through your body, washing in waves down to your toes, and up to your head, making everything fuzzy as your eyes closed in pleasure. You were content to stay exactly like that for the rest of the night.
But Erwin was never one to do things quietly - he went above and beyond - and he always had such a mouth on him. He was intent on making sure all his energy was pushed towards pushing you to release. His fingers and mouth, the muscles in his thighs keeping him knelt just right for you, and his thoughts never slept - he needed you to know exactly what he was thinking - as if he knew how much you loved knowing what he wanted to do with you.
“Just imagining how good you’d taste -” he groaned, pulling away and replacing his face with his fingers, two slid right in with very little resistance, “- when this blood on my hands is yours.”
Your mind went to the woman in your freezer.
Eyes slowly opened to glare as Erwin stood over you. With the different angle your hands moved - one down to where his wrist was pressing against your clit as his fingers curled inside you, the other around his throat, tensed around the veins that ran either side of his windpipe.
The same ones you cut to kill that woman in your freezer.
“If you kill me, I’m going to fucking murder you.” You hand pressed harder, enough that if you took your hand away there would be a white mark where the blood was forced to leave his perfect skin.
“I wouldn’t dream of it.. I could never hurt you like that.” he said softly, unbothered by your hand around his throat - the look in his eyes told you he was more than pleased at how rough you were being. He leant over you and mounted the table with a knee pressed to the underside of your thigh. “No, instead what you can give me is much better than her blood. Neither of us have to do a single thing in order to have it, and that makes it so much sweeter.” As he spoke his lips rested over yours, his breath was in your mouth and if you licked your lips you’d taste as much of him as you would of yourself.
His hand curled down, pressing your joint arms between your bodies at an odd angle, letting his fingers move in such a way that had your eyes rolling back and mouth opening in a silent scream at the pleasure and pain his fingers started to bring.
Like an open invitation, his mouth was on yours. As he stuffed your cunt with a third finger, his tongue worked into your mouth and spread the taste of your slick all over. It was intense - how all you could feel was him inside you and his hand around your ribcage; all you could taste was the salt you gave him, the kind he craved; all you could smell was him, oak wood and leather, and the smell of your sex that he'd pressed his entire lower face into.
There was no other place in the world like this - nothing compared to being pressed into the wood of your dining table by a man who completely adored everything about you. Now, you decided, you could stay right there forever.
His lips moved again, from your mouth down your chin to your jaw. They landed on your throat, and you moaned at how his teeth sunk into your skin and sucked. Once he felt sedated at the size and color of the bruise there, his tongue went to work once more - starting right down on your breasts and licking all the way up to your jaw.
Erwin was cleaning you. Drinking you clean and leaving you bare of the red splatter that once painted your skin imperfect - for he suddenly found the one thing he loved more than seeing you covered in blood was being able to clean it off you.
His breathing was heavy, and he groaned into your skin as his knee gave way so his hips could roll down into yours despite his hand blocking his way.
“Oh sweetheart, the things I would do for a chance to be between your legs while you bleed life right into my mouth.” His admission - along with the constant pressure of his wrist moving on your clit - was your final push. Your stomach tensed, pussy clenching over his fingers and sucking them in tight. “That’s it, yes that’s - perfect. You’re so perfect.”
In blind pleasure, eyes glossy and looking right past his head to your ceiling, your hands freed from their vice grips on his wrist and throat to move to his hips. As your hips bucked up into his hand while you rode out your orgasm, your new purchase had him rolling down into you even more.
Oh, if the size of his cock spoke it would tell you how he must be completely aching inside the slacks he wore.
“Show me,” you said between catching your breath and coming down from the release Erwin brought you, “Show me how you’d fuck me if this blood was mine.”
Tumblr media
From the way his teeth sunk into your shoulder - so hard you swore he’d rip a mouth-sized chunk of flesh right from your bones - you had definitely said the right thing.
With his mouth still leaving borderline painful marks on your neck, his hands worked on slipping your dress off - the slick from his fingers left painted cold lines on your skin as he dragged the fabric off, blood spread thin over your body, and with a flick of his wrist the dress was gone completely. All in one piece, too.
But the same courtesy was not given to his own clothes - thread and buttons tore, and soon before you stood your perfect, bloodied, naked husband. He seemed to take a moment to look at you, chest heaving and looking like he’d just run a marathon.
Your thighs pressed together, and the sticky wet left strings webbed between your legs as he pried your knees open. His hands were big, and warm, and for the first time you really noticed how calloused his palms were. Before you could dwell on it long, his hand wrapped around to press your leg up into your chest - as it moved so did he, languid and calm, and he was above you again with your knee pressed to your chests and his palm at your throat.
He was looking at you with such an intensity that you knew in that moment that you would do anything he asked of you. Without a word, his eyes told you to stay exactly how you were - so you did.
You could feel your heartbeat in your ears, watching Erwin though lidded eyes as he leant away and his hips lowered and the leaking tip of his cock touched your stomach.
Your other leg raised to hook around his waist, an attempt to urge him into the place you needed him most. But he was nothing if not steadfast in getting what he wanted too.
“Tell me. Show me.” he said. “Let me know that you want it.”
But you couldn’t speak. The ability to form words had completely left you, partly from imagining how good the slow drag of him would feel inside you, and partly because the hand around your throat stopped most noise from going further than underneath them - you could barely swallow without Erwin having to give way to the movement. So you did all you could do.
Your hands scrambled for a place to hold, a place to sink your nails into and never let go - a place where the skin was so thin it dragged and curled and caught under your fingernails. It was an action you had done many a time before, but this time it was different. Your ferocity ran deeper, harder, he would bleed and hurt and he would wear these lines for weeks instead of days. The thought made your hips buck up, swivel in yearning and pure want. You were showing him how deep your need ran.
“Yes, hurt me.” he said, open mouth covering yours and swallowing every silent noise of want and relief as he angled his body to finally press into your core. He always felt so big, and he was harder than you ever remember him being. He was hot, and he slid right into your warmth like he was always meant to be there. Like it was his home, the one place in the whole world meant to be just for him.
“Erwin,” you mouthed, eyes unable to stay open anymore at the feeling of him stopping right against that spot inside you that made stars burst behind your eyes and warmth pool in your stomach.
“What is it?” he hummed, releasing the pressure on your neck enough so you could speak properly. For a few agonizing moments all you could do was pant and squirm as his other hand pressed down on your womb to keep you still under him.
“I need it, I need it.”
“Need what?” he asked, moving over you again to press  too-gentle kisses to your cheeks, “I know you’re feeling a lot right now sweetheart, but I need you to talk to me. Can you do that?”
“Yes,” you said, eyes caught watching him watch you, and you swallowed thickly. “I need you to do what I said. I need you to fuck me.”
Your voice came out stronger, more collected and coherent than you thought it would. Even the way Erwin’s eyes widened slightly told you he was as surprised at your admission as you were. But it wasn’t an admission - it was an order.
“Anything for you.” he said, pressing his lips to yours. His hand moved from your abdomen to your hip bone, and you knew you finally - finally - got what you wanted.
From how eagerly he gave in, and how enthusiastic his movements became, Erwin had been waiting for this too. To have you exactly as he was right then.
The squelch from his thrusting into your cunt, and the rapidly cooling slick that spread from your core onto your thighs only served to urge you on further - it had your back arching and pussy clenching over Erwin’s cock. Both your hands flew to his wrist, not to stop his hold on your neck, but to ground yourself as you mindlessly bucked up to meet his thrusts.
“Oh baby yes, look at you.” Your eyes opened, mouth waiting and expectant for another consuming kiss - but Erwin was not looking at you. Not directly. His head was turned, and you felt how his hips picked up speed at what he was seeing in your dining room mirror.
Your head turned, and you had to fight to not roll your eyes back into your skull at what you saw. You couldn’t want for anything more than the man above you.
His grin was almost all teeth, jaw slack, and he looked nothing short of an animal. Erwin almost laughed at how pleased he was with how he had you.
His hair a mess, and parts sticking to his forehead at the effort he was putting in to please you. Even from your angle you could see the welts over his shoulders where, at his command, you had stripped him of his skin. Blood was still practically everywhere, and he looked like an absolute mess. A very pleased mess.
While one arm had your leg almost up over his shoulder while his hand gripped your bloodied and bit-ridden neck, the other was all over your other thigh - keeping it pressed around his hips, and your heel dug into the dip below his hips to encourage him as deep inside you as possible.
His thrusts weren’t letting up, and the sight of him watching you watch him had you moving as much as you could just to meet him. To force him as deep as he could go.
And then there was you. Laid equally bare and equally covered in blood - and completely at the mercy of your husband.
Your hair pressed down onto the table beneath you, bite marks and hickies littered your neck, dried spit and blood all over your chest. Your whole body felt like it was on fire. Hot and wanting - all you wanted was to come undone.
Lower still, thanks to your leg being lifted to the high heavens by a man who was now mouthing and panting at your ankle, was a perfect view of where your bodies met. With the way his cock sunk in and out of your pussy, and your white slick coating the wiry hairs at his base. With such a lewd sight as that, it was no wonder he became so frantic.
One of your hands went to your clit - swollen and aching, the fair brush of Erwin’s hairs as his hips met yours wasn’t going to be enough for you. You needed more. You were going to take it for yourself.
But Erwin, still keenly watching you in the mirror, saw. The hand on your hip moved down between your bodies, laying atop yours and guiding your fingers in a rhythm you didn’t even know - but one he knew would bring you to release, even if you didn’t.
Your grip on his wrist tightened, nails pressing crescents into his skin. Your mouth opened again, eyes unable to stay open for the feeling that built inside you took over. You were so close that it was all you were thinking about.
Erwin - he was all you could feel. He was consuming you. You were consuming him.
“That’s it, that's my -” he choked, words caught in his throat, feeling how you clenched around him tighter with a cry of pleasure - it went straight to his head. “That’s right, yes.” he said, eyes closing as yours fluttered open to watch as his face contorted in pleasure.
A new warmth burst into your stomach as Erwin’s movements slowed to a stop, hot and thick. As you laid there with the last waves of your own pleasure - and the complete feeling of being filled to the brim - lulling you into a sense of complacency, you watched as your husband opened his eyes again.
He smiled at you, his hand finally moving off your throat to the side of your jaw, brushing your hair further away from your face. The pressure of his arm keeping your leg up left, and it moved down to wrap around his waist too.
With a light groan, and a little assistance from Erwin, you sat up. Together you moved so he stood at the edge of the table, while you sat on it. You shuffled slightly closer, thighs tightening around his hips as the angle pressed him deeper inside you again.
Erwin’s tightened grip on your hip was a warning - one you were planning to follow. You didn’t think either of you had it in yourselves to go that far again that quickly.
Well, maybe you could - but you were more than happy not to.
But at that moment all you wanted was to just stay as close to him as possible.
Your arms wrapped around his shoulders, breasts pressed flush to the hairs on his chest, and his grip on your waist moved down to under your thighs. He lifted you off the table, and with a few carefully placed steps, he backed into the seat he previously pushed aside.
With you now in his lap, he held you properly. His fingers traced the curves of your back, and one stayed there to press you into his warmth while the other continued to wander up your ribcage.
“I love you,” he murmured, nosing your cheek and pressing a soft, slow kiss to your lips. Your fingers found their way to the back of his skull, itched past his undercut and found a home fixed in his blond locks.
Your chests pressed together, breathing still unsteady, but you’d never been so calm. So sedated. In that moment, as you looked at Erwin, all you could think of was how the flush on his cheeks made his freckles completely disappear. Your insides felt like a slow pour of the sweetest honey.
“I love you too.”
Tumblr media
“But we need to talk about what you’ve done.” Erwin had barely broken away from you to speak again, but the idea of what exactly you did wasn’t clicking. He could see it on your face.
“I didn’t do anything.” you said with a pout - it took everything in him to not take your lip between his teeth, but he would be content just being inside your pussy. For now.
“Oh but you did.” he said, keeping his voice soft and movements slow, “Sweetheart, I think you’ve killed someone for me.”
He watched you frown, then watched as it deepened in realization. Then, like when he caught you in his button-down shirt for the first time, you shied away. Your face found a place on his shoulder so he couldn’t see it, and then you answered him.
“She deserved it.” you mumbled. “And if you were planning on finding someone else to fill your freezers then tough luck. I got there first.” he felt your fingers tighten on his hair, and he was slightly glad you’d hidden your face on him.
That way you couldn’t see the pleased smile that broke across his features. He was going to speak again, when you beat him.
“And if you think anyone besides me is going to carve her up, then you’re dead wrong.” When he realized what you’d said, his grip on you tightened even more. “I can’t wait to butcher her up like the pig she is. Bet she’ll taste awful though.”
He had to purse his lips together - an effort to keep his mouth closed and no sounds coming out. At your admission he became absolutely ecstatic.
Weeks ago he never would have thought you’d feed into his habit - he never even planned on ever telling you about it. He was content with having you clueless to his true nature. Perhaps once or twice, he fleetingly dreamed that you might happily join him when he dined on the flesh of the people who wronged you.
But this was better. This was so much better.
You had changed since he married you. His slow patience had worn off and he held in his hands the fruits of his labor - filled to the brim and painted red. Now you could do it together, whole-heartedly and in every aspect. From the slaughter to the meal, he had you. And you had him.
Now the moment you said so, he would believe you, and if you wanted someone dead he would happily, proudly bring them to your feet all for you to feast on. He’d take it even more seriously, and he would kill anyone you wanted him to. Anyone at all. And you’d do the same for him.
Turning his head, and kissing your temple, he let you feel him smile against your skin. Now he knew he really had you all to himself.
You had always been perfect for him.

Hange stopped abruptly in front of a small shop filled with colorful treats and festive pastries. They squinted at the display window before turning to Levi with a grin.
“What now, Four-Eyes?” he asked with a scowl, trying to force back the irritation in his tone.
Hange clasped their hands together, eyes wide and imploring.
“Levi, please!” they whined, fluttering their eyelashes in that ridiculously cute way they both knew he couldn’t resist.
“They sell those amazing candied chestnuts, the best in town really, and I need them to snack on tonight, you know. Could you buy me some while I... well, while I handle something else down the street?”
Levi raised a suspicious eyebrow. “What kind of ‘something else’?”
They leaned in with a playful smile. Their voice dropped to what they thought was a whisper, their breath tickling his ear. “It’s a secret!”
“Fine,” Levi muttered with a sigh. “But be back soon or I’ll leave you here.”
Hange beamed at him, kissed his cheek and, before he could protest, slipped into the crowd.
⋆âș₊❅.
His errand quickly taken care of, Levi decided to wait for Hange by a lamppost adorned with garlands next to the candy shop.
Scattered snowflakes drifted lazily in the cold air, delicately dusting his nose and eyelashes. With the sweet scent of roasted chestnuts wafting from a stall nearby or the distant echo of Christmas carols, the holiday cheer was slowly taking over him, more than he cared to admit.
He let his eyes wander over the busy street for a while.
A young boy bundled in a thick coat tugged at his grandfather’s sleeve, pointing excitedly at a toy shop, his big blue eyes full of dreams.
A few steps away, a couple was sitting close together on a bench, sharing a red scarf and laughing softly, their cheeks flushed from the cold or from something else, Levi couldn't tell.
He fished his phone out of the back pocket of his jeans as soon as it buzzed with a call from his best friend.
Erwin: Hey Levi! How’s your weekend so far? Are you busy?
Levi: Trapped in Hange’s holiday frenzy. Shitty snow everywhere. Fucking crowded. Your boy-scout’s ass would probably love it
Erwin: So, gift shopping it is?
Levi huffed, glancing down the street where Hange had disappeared.
Levi: Dragged me around town all afternoon, then sent me to buy some fucking treats
He snorted.
Levi: Got diabetes just looking at those by the way
Erwin: Come on Levi! Don’t pretend to be pissed, we both know you’re exactly where you want to be!
Levi rolled his eyes. He could hear the smirk in his friend’s tone but decided to ignore it.
Levi: They're plotting something. Probably buying more junk as we speak
Erwin chuckled.
Erwin: Be nice every once in a while, I promise it won’t kill you
Levi: If “nice” means standing around in the cold carrying a shitton of paper bags like a pack mule, I’d rather not be
Erwin: Never took you for a drama queen before
Levi clicked his tongue.
Levi: Drama queen huh? Well now, all I know is that I’m freezing my ass off waiting for them to finish whatever shit they’re up to
Erwin: Same old story for years. Let me guess -you didn’t want to go out, Hange insisted, and you gave in
Levi: Easier than arguing. You know how fucking stubborn they can be
His voice softened imperceptibly.
Levi: Besides, it’s just a few gifts. And candy.
Erwin: You’ll never admit it but you’re a softie, Levi
Levi: Just
shut the fuck up, dumbass
Erwin: All right, all right! See you tomorrow at the gym then?
Levi: Yeah, see you tomorrow
Sliding his phone back into his pocket, Levi adjusted his scarf and scanned the crowd again.
His fingers clutched at the bag holding the sweetmeats, and the corners of his lips twitched upward when the thought of Hange’s happy grin crossed his mind.
He glanced down the street again, finally spotting Hange weaving through the crowd, a red bag in their hand.
“What took you so long?” he asked gruffly as they finally joined him.
Hange plucked the bag of candy from him with a wink but didn’t reply.
“Thanks, Levi. These are gonna be perfect for our Hallmark movie night.”
“Yeah, yeah. Let’s go before you get any more stupid ideas,” he muttered, falling into step beside them.
Hange looped their arm through his, chattering away about the movies they had already picked for later.
⋆âș₊❅.
The cold bit at their cheeks as they strolled through the snowy streets, their breath fogging in the crisp air. Twinkling lights lined the rooftops and shop windows, reflecting off the icy sidewalks.
Hange clung to Levi, their boots crunching in the snow. They had forgotten their mittens back home -again- but they were bundled in their usual chaotic style -layers upon layers of mismatched clothes topped with an absurdly fluffy, reindeer-themed hat. Its floppy antlers bobbed with every enthusiastic step.
He gave their head a flat look and tugged at the ear flaps. “That crap on your head looks ridiculous.”
“You mean ridiculously warm!” Hange replied with enthusiasm. “You’re just jealous you don’t have one.”
“Over my dead body,” he deadpanned.
Hange laughed, a boisterous, cheerful sound that always stirred something warm in his chest.
His gloved hand tightened slightly around theirs, his fingers curling to shield them from the cold, his thumb brushing the ring on their finger.
“Do you think Moblit will like the sketchbook? The leather cover is so beautiful.”
“It’ll suit him,” Levi said. His tone was flat, but Hange caught the faint note of approval.
“I can’t wait to hang the ornament we picked! It’s so pretty!”
“Should stop swinging your shopping bags then for fuck’s sake, Four-Eyes. Y’gonna break it before it even makes it to the tree.”
“Ok, I'll stop, I promise, Shorty!”
They turned their face toward the glowing shop windows, cheeks and nose pink from the cold. They beamed as they took in the festive decor.
“Isn’t this the best time of year? Just look at all these lights, Levi!”
He grunted but his pace slowed to keep in step with them.
“Not bad,” he conceded.
⋆âș₊❅.
They strolled at a leisurely pace, Hange darting from one shop window to the next, their excitement bubbling over in a string of delighted “ohs” and “ahs.” Every so often, they dragged Levi along, pointing out the displays -a miniature train circling a snowy village or dolls and plushies all dressed up for a tea party.
Levi followed, his usual grumbles shushed by their enthusiasm.
When Hange stopped in front of a window, he paused, letting them press their nose on the glass. Inside, a collection of elegant scarves and gloves were neatly arranged, one catching their attention.
“Do you think Nanaba would wear this?” Hange mused, their breath fogging up the glass. “She loves practical gifts, but this one is also stylish.”
Levi didn’t answer immediately. Instead, his gaze lingered on them -the way the soft lights danced across their face, the way the sparkle of excitement lit up their eyes. And for some reason, their ridiculous hat somehow made them look endearingly cute.
He felt something swell in his chest, a comforting warmth pushing aside the winter chill.
Hange turned abruptly, catching his gaze. They smiled, wide and unguarded. “What?”
“Nothing,” he muttered, his hand tightening slightly around theirs.
Their grin grew, but they didn’t press him further, their fingers squeezing his back.
Hange leaned in suddenly and pressed a quick, warm kiss to Levi’s cheek, the chill of the night momentarily pushed further aside.
Levi froze, his ears turning faintly pink beneath the streetlights.
“Tch. What’s that for?” he groaned, shooting them a sideway glance.
“For being adorable,” Hange teased.
“I’m not-” he started, but the words caught in his throat as Hange squeezed his hand and kissed him briefly on the lips this time, their laughter ringing softly in the frosty air.
He sighed, shaking his head, but his lips twitched ever so slightly. The warmth from their kiss lingered, spreading through his chest.
“Come on,” he said, his voice softening. “Gotta walk or we’ll freeze to death.”
Hange laughed again, their breath clouding between them, and let Levi tug them away from the window.
“I hope Erwin’s going to like the book,” Hange said. “He always had a soft spot for poetry.”
“He’d better,” Levi muttered. “You spent twenty minutes debating between that and the essay about war strategy.”
“It was a tough choice!” Hange defended, their voice rising in mock indignation. “You can’t rush picking a gift for a friend, Levi.”
“Pretty sure he’ll just squeeze it in his shelf,” Levi shot back, but there was no bite to his words.
Hange laughed, turning to face him as they walked backward, gesturing animatedly. “You’re so-”
Their words cut off abruptly as their foot caught a patch of hidden ice. They yelped, arms flailing, but before they could hit the ground, Levi moved instinctively, catching them in one swift motion.
“Hange-” Levi uttered in a breath as he steadied them against his chest, his arms wrapping protectively around their waist.
For a moment, Hange had frozen, their hand clutching at their coat near the middle of their body as they regained their balance. Their face had paled slightly, but they quickly managed a shaky laugh, brushing it off. “That was close.”
Levi’s brows furrowed with concern as he studied their face.
“I’m fine,” Hange said quickly, their voice a little too light as they straightened up. A faint, sheepish smile crossed their lips, but their usual energy seemed slightly subdued. “Guess I got distracted.”
Levi didn’t look convinced. His grip lingered for a bit longer, his concerned gaze flicking over them before he finally let go.
“Watch where you’re stepping next time, idiot,” he scolded, though his voice lacked its usual sharpness.
Hange gave a small nod, glancing away as if to gather themself. Levi’s focus shifted briefly, catching the warm glow spilling out from a nearby window.
“Look,” he said quietly, gesturing with a tilt of his head.
Hange turned, realizing they were standing directly in front of the café where their first date had taken place. Its golden light spilled out onto the snow-covered street, just as inviting as it had been back then.
“You think they still have those weird drinks on the menu?”
Hange’s eyes lit up. “You mean the one with cinnamon and hot peppers? I’m still convinced it was a prank to be honest.”
Hange laughed, their breath misting in the cold air. “Well, I’m freezing and I’m sure you too. Since we’re here, might as well go inside.”
⋆âș₊❅.
The door jingled as they entered, welcomed by the cheerful chatter and the clink of cups. The warmth of the café enveloped them instantly. It was crowded, but not enough to stop Hange from spotting their old table near the window.
Without hesitation, they started weaving through the maze of chairs and patrons. “I call dibs on the table!”
“Wait, there are still cups on it-” Levi tried to protest.
But Hange was already sliding into the booth, grinning as they sat down. “It’s the same table, Levi. We have to sit here.”
Levi frowned, glancing at the mess of empty cups and stained napkins left by the previous customers. “Really? Looks like it’s been hit by a tornado.”
“Don’t be such a grump.” Hange grinned, shoving their paper bags under the table. “Come on, it’s the perfect spot. It’s nostalgic!”
Levi sighed, but despite his grumbling, he sat down on the chair across from them.
“Nostalgic my ass.”
Levi got rid of his coat and scarf, folding them in a neat pile beside Hange.
His eye twitched as he looked at the scattered cups, their contents long gone but the mess still there. He let out a heavy sigh and immediately started to gather the dirty cups, sliding them to the side.
“Levi, seriously? It’s not like anyone cares,” Hange said, watching him with an amused grin as he stacked the cups into a pile.
“Well, I care,” he muttered, flicking a napkin out of the way. He wrinkled his nose. “It’s disgusting.”
Hange leaned back in their seat, watching the subtle twitch of Levi’s fingers as he rearranged everything to his liking. “You’re the only person I know who would willingly clean up after strangers in a cafĂ©.”
“I’m not cleaning,” he grumbled. “Just... organizing.”
Before he could finish, the waitress arrived, smiling brightly as she swept the mess away effortlessly. “I’ll get these for you,” she said, flashing them a warm look.
Levi barely glanced up, his face already in its signature scowl. “Fucking finally,” he groaned under his breath.
The waitress wiped the table down, handing them menus with a cheerful “Here you go!” before turning to leave.
Hange chuckled. “You’re such a clean freak, you know.”
“Obviously not, since I live with a slob,” Levi muttered. “Just didn’t want to sit at a garbage dump.”
Hange tugged off their ridiculous hat, letting out a satisfied sigh. But when they ran a hand through their hair, Levi couldn't help but snort.
“Now your hair looks even worse than your hat,” he muttered, leaning back in his seat.
Hange chuckled. “Hey, no need to be so mean.”
Levi just clicked his tongue in response, casting an unimpressed glance at the wild mass of hair.
Hange raised an eyebrow. “What, you don’t think it’s cute?”
Levi didn’t answer, but he stood abruptly, pushing his chair back with a scrape. Unexpectedly, he leaned over the table, reaching for their hair. With soft, careful gestures, he began to smooth out the tangles, his fingers gently carding through the tousled locks.
Hange blinked in surprise at the unusual display, but as Levi’s focused expression softened, a real smile spread across their face -genuine and bright, something that lit up their eyes.
Levi’s nose and cheeks were flushed, his ears red from the cold -though Hange couldn’t help but hope the icy weather was not the only cause. They felt a wave of affection surge through them, their heart beating a little faster as they watched him.
“You’re cute, you know that?” Hange said softly, barely a whisper, as they let their smile widen.
Levi, completely unaware of the adoration in their gaze, mumbled something that sounded like a protest but didn’t pull away.
Just as he tucked a strand of hair behind Hange’s ear, the waitress came back to their table with a bright smile.
“Well, aren’t you two the cutest lovebirds,” she said, teasing, as she set a small notepad down the table.
Hange giggled at the nickname.
“Lovebirds? How sweet!” they cooed, their face lighting up.
Levi, on the other hand, was clearly annoyed.
“Lovebirds? What the hell?” He grumbled under his breath. “What are we, spotty teens?”
“Oh, sorry, I didn’t mea-,” the waitress started.
Hange kicked Levi’s ankle under the table and smiled brightly at the waitress. “Don’t mind Mr. Grumpy Pants,” they said with a chuckle. “He's a decent little dude once you get to know him.”
Levi let out an exaggerated sigh, but Hange could see the faintest hint of a smile tugging at his lips.
The waitress scribbled down their orders. “I’ll be right back with your drinks.”
As she turned and walked away, Hange and Levi locked eyes, reaching out over the table to intertwine their fingers.
It seemed it had been ages since their first date. Yet, in this very moment, in this very place, everything just felt the same as it had that day.
Tumblr media
The golden warmth of the fall afternoon sun bathed the café in a welcoming atmosphere. Outside, the air was crisp, with a faint chill that only seemed to make the cozy place more enjoyable.
Levi had been sitting at a small table by the window for a while now, his expression unreadable, but his gaze soft as he stared outside.
Along the street, beeches and pin oaks were shedding their leaves, fiery reds, oranges, and yellows drifting down in the cold wind to the sidewalk below. A few passers-by, wrapped in their jackets, occasionally paused to admire the beautiful display of fall colors. Levi’s eyes briefly lingered on them in the same detached way he observed everything around him.
Only a few customers were scattered throughout the quiet café. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries wafted to him from time to time.
Levi looked effortlessly handsome, in his simple but elegant outfit, his well-cut jacket fitting him just right.
He glanced at his watch for the third time since he arrived and sighed.
He leaned back in his seat and grabbed the menu, his gaze momentarily shifting to the words printed on it. He wasn’t hungry, not really, but the menu offered a distraction while he waited.
As he scanned the list, he remained blissfully unaware of the admiring glances exchanged between the waitress and the cashier girl, both of them casting furtive looks at him from behind the counter.
The café’s door swung open in a burst. Levi jolted in his seat, startled by the sudden ringing of the bell, and his eyes immediately shot up from the menu.
Hange.
A gust of cold air followed them as they stepped in with sparkling energy. A whirlwind.
Their messy hair fluffed by the wind and a wide smile on their lively face, they bounced into the café and scanned the room with excitement.
The waitress and cashier exchanged a quick, amused glance before giggling softly, their eyes trailing over Hange’s disheveled state.
Levi, however, frowned as he watched them, his eyes narrowing at the sight of Hange’s hair sticking out in every direction.
As Hange spotted Levi at the table and waved at him, their smile widening, the girls’ mouths dropped open in surprise.
Their eyes flicked between the two of them, slowly realizing that this was the person Levi had been waiting for. It hit them both at once, their expressions shifting from curiosity to astonishment as they witnessed the connection between Levi, who seemed so quiet and composed, and the exuberant person now making their way toward him.
Hange almost tripped over their own feet as they made their way to Levi’s table, narrowly catching themself before they stumbled. They plopped down dramatically into the seat across from him, speaking loudly as though the entire cafĂ© needed to hear.
"Sorry I’m late! The wind’s insane today," Hange said in an animated tone.
Levi didn’t reply immediately, but a hint of disapproval flickered in his eyes as he took in their unkempt state, spotting leaves stuck in their wild hair, a tangled mess of autumn colors.
Completely oblivious to their own disarray -and to Levi’s softening gaze- Hange reached into their pocket, pulling out a heart-shaped golden leaf and holding it out to Levi with a grin.
“For you!”
Levi took the leaf, his expression neutral.
“You’re a mess,” he muttered, “and you’re late.”
"So sorry to be late but those leaves are so pretty! I had to find the perfect one for you! You see, the heart shape? This is basically nature’s way of blessing our date.”
Levi looked down at the leaf in his hand, then back up at Hange, his lips twitching ever so slightly as if he held back a smile.
The waitress joined them as he thanked Hange for their unusual gift.
Hange leaned forward to make their order. “I’ll have the pumpkin chai latte, with extra sugar and extra whipped cream, and, oh! Do you have any sprinkles?”
They looked at the waitress with wide, sparkling eyes.
Levi didn’t even blink as he ordered, “Black tea. No sugar.”
Hange raised an eyebrow. “Seriously? You're just gonna drink... sadness in a cup?”
Levi glanced at them, trying his best to suppress the slight irritation creeping into his voice. “Says the one ordering dessert instead of coffee.”
“Oh, come on! It's fall! It’s a vibe!" Hange insisted, grinning. "What’s better in life than whipped cream and sprinkles?”
Levi scoffed, shaking his head. “Not getting diabetes every time you drink coffee?”
“Just let me enjoy my dose of comfort while you sip your bland, depressing beverage,” Hange teased.
Their drinks arrived shortly and Hange started to tell one of their passionate stories, waving their arms dramatically. “Okay, so the other day I was reading this book about quantum physics and-”
Levi listened quietly, drinking in their animated features as he took a careful sip of his hot tea.
“-it’s fascinating!” Hange continued, oblivious to his lingering gaze. “So, what if we could shift our density to one similar to gas and phase through walls?”
Levi rolled his eyes. ”Who the hell would care about something that useless?”
Hange grinned widely. “Well, I find it fascinating. And fun! What about you, huh? What’s your idea of fun?”
“I don’t know
 Cleaning, maybe
”
Hange chuckled, but before they could reply, Levi reached across the table, his fingers brushing through their tousled hair. “Got a leaf in your hair,” he whispered.
He gently pulled the golden leaf from the mess of hair, his touch surprisingly delicate, as though he had done this a hundred times before.
Hange froze, blinking up at him, caught off guard by the sudden attention. Their heartbeat quickened. He had never been so close to them, and this all felt somewhat
 intimate.
Totally unaware of the effect his small gesture had, Levi sat back to sip his tea.
A blush crept up their neck, but before overthinking Levi’s gesture, they cleared their throat and went back to their story, gesturing wildly as if nothing had happened.
“So, yeah, imagine if we could just phase through walls! The possibilities would be endless!”
Eager to return to their usual chatter, Hange went on blabbering about physics with animated gestures until their hand, in the middle of their rambling, swept across the table, knocking their pumpkin chai latte off.
The drink toppled over, splashing onto the table and spilling across Hange’s sleeve.
“Oh, crap!” Hange grabbed a napkin and immediately started scrambling to clean up the mess, though all they were really doing was spreading the stain.
Levi sighed, pushing his tea aside, then reached into his pocket for his neatly folded handkerchief. Without a word, he slid it across the table toward them.
Hange looked at the handkerchief before meeting Levi’s eyes with a sheepish grin.
“Oh, I’m so sorry, Levi, I swear I’m not usually this clumsy-"
Clearly not convinced, Levi raised an eyebrow.
“And I don't want to ruin your handkerchief.”
“Don’t bother. You’ll probably spill something else on it anyway,” he deadpanned.
Hange chuckled nervously. "Fair enough
I’ll wash it and return it, of course."
Levi leaned back in his chair as Hange wiped their sleeve, and his gaze briefly drifted out of the window, his fingers tracing lightly the rim of his cup. He thought of Erwin, who had been so sure he would get along with Hange.
"Seriously, Levi," Erwin had said a week ago, when Levi hesitated, "I can tell you two are going to hit it off. Just say yes to the invite. You’ll be glad you did."
Levi had been annoyed by the unsolicited advice at the time, but now, as he looked at Hange across from him, he told himself that maybe
Well, maybe Erwin had been right.
His hand brushed against Hange’s briefly as they both reached for the napkins at the same time. A small spark of warmth radiated from the touch.
He glanced over at Hange, still too caught up in cleaning the last traces of whipped cream from their earlier mishap. Levi would probably never admit it aloud, but Erwin was right. He was glad he had said yes.
The conversation resumed, Hange trying to act like they weren't mortified over the spill.
When the waitress returned to clean the table, she winked at the cashier girl who stood by the counter, both of them exchanging a knowing look before focusing on their task.
They had noticed the soft way Levi and Hange’s eyes lingered on each other, the small, unspoken moments that they weren’t quite aware of -the way Levi’s hand brushed Hange’s, how Hange’s smile widened when their eyes met.
It was obvious that something was shifting between the two.
The waitress quickly cleared the last of the napkins and mugs, trying to remain professional, but a small, amused smile tugged at the corners of her lips.
When she reached the counter, the cashier girl leaned over, still watching the couple from afar. “Something’s going on, huh?” she murmured.
The waitress shook her head with a chuckle. “They don’t even know it yet.”
Hange pushed their chair back abruptly, their usual whirlwind energy somewhat coming back. “Let’s go for a walk,” they proposed, tugging at their coat. “I know a park nearby.”
“Ok,” he muttered, rising to go and pay the check.
Levi soon reached the counter and handed over the cash, his eyes drifting toward Hange as the cashier counted out his change. They were near the door, fumbling with their scarf as it caught awkwardly in their coat. However, their smile, bright and unbothered, lit up their face.
He turned away, walking a few paces to the side to slip his wallet back into his pocket.
His fingers brushed the soft edges of the leaf Hange had given him earlier. The absurdity of it -a heart-shaped leaf, of all things, really?- should have annoyed him. But instead, he felt an unfamiliar warmth bloom in his chest.
“They’re cute together,” the cashier whispered as he put on his gloves.
“Definitely mismatched,” the waitress murmured, lowering her voice. “But, somehow, it works. He’s all gruff and serious and handsome; and they’re... well...”
Levi caught enough of their comments to make his brow twitch.
The waitress smirked. “Maybe he has a thing for chaos.”
“The way he’s watching them?” the cashier continued,”Bet he doesn’t even realize he’s totally smitten.”
The word made Levi’s jaw tighten. He wrapped his scarf around his neck and turned abruptly toward the door.
He muttered something under his breath as he walked across the café, his ears burning faintly.
Hange had finally managed to get their coat on and grinned up at him, oblivious to the way he was still recovering from the girls’ words.
“All set?” they asked cheerfully, entirely unaware of his internal turmoil.
“Yeah. Let’s go.”
Levi pushed the door open for them, the sound of the two girls’ muffled giggles following them as they stepped outside.
⋆âș₊❅.
The brisk air was refreshing. As soon as they entered the quiet park, Hange veered off the path, scanning the ground. They crouched to pick up a golden leaf, then another, holding them up to study their shape and texture.
Levi watched them from a step behind, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. The cold wind didn’t bother him when a faint warmth crept up his neck as he observed their overwhelming, almost childish enthusiasm. It was chaotic, messy, yet oddly endearing.
They reached a small pond and Hange stopped, gazing at their reflection in the water with an unusual frown.
“I’m terrible at this,” they said suddenly, breaking the silence. “Dating, I mean. I’m... too much. People don’t usually stick around.”
Levi stopped beside them, glancing at their solemn expression before speaking in a gentle tone. “Maybe you just haven’t met someone who can handle it.”
Hange’s head turned toward him.
They locked eyes and silence hung in the air between them for a while.
Then, a mischievous smile curled on their lips. “Handle it, huh? Are you volunteering for the job?”
Their eyelashes fluttered playfully.
Levi rolled his eyes, but his faint smirk betrayed him. “Tch. Don’t read too much into it.”
They continued walking along the park path, the autumn leaves crunching softly under their feet. Hange slowed every so often to examine a particular leaf or to show him the different species of trees, rambling enthusiastically about them.
Levi followed silently, his hands tucked into his pockets, his gaze never leaving Hange.
They passed a vendor selling small trinkets and plush toys. Among them, a chubby titan plush caught Hange’s eye, and they froze.
“Levi!” they gasped, pointing at it with childlike excitement. “Look at this cutie! I need it.”
“A plushie, really? What are you, five?” Levi deadpanned
He glanced at the stuffed toy. Of course, it was ridiculously huge. However, he thought, he hadn’t brought flowers to his date after all. So, he couldn’t do otherwise than oblige now, could he?
When he handed the plush to a beaming Hange, they hugged it like it was the most precious treasure in the world.
“This will go perfectly with my collection!” Hange exclaimed.
Levi raised an eyebrow. “Collection of what? Ugly monsters?”
“Hey! It’s cute,” they protested, holding the plush protectively. “And you got it for me, which makes it extra special.”
Levi scoffed but glanced away, embarrassed by the warmth creeping up his cheeks.
He cleared his throat before speaking again. “We should go, it’s getting dark out here.”
They crossed the park at a leisurely pace.
“You know, when I told Eyebrows I was asking you out, he gave me this weird smirk, like he’d predicted it or something,” Hange blurted out after a while.
Levi side-eyed them, hands fidgeting in his pockets. “Sounds like him.”
“Actually, he told me, ‘Levi would enjoy your company more than he lets on.’ I think he oversold it.”
Levi chuckled.
“Did he bribe you to say yes?” Hange asked.
“All he said was that you were tolerable,” Levi replied with a smirk, his tone deadpan. “He left out the part where you’d try to drown the table in chai latte.”
“So he did scheme!” Hange exclaimed. “I knew it! Not that I’m complaining though
”
Levi glanced sideways at them again, noticing the faint flush on their cheeks.
They had reached the edge of the park when Hange stopped suddenly at the corner where they had to part ways.
“Thanks for walking me,” Hange said. “I’m this way.”
They gestured toward their street, their hand lingering mid-air as if unsure whether to wave or stay still.
Levi shifted his weight, smoothing down the golden leaf still tucked in his pocket.
“You’d probably have tripped and stumbled in the mud otherwise.”
Hange laughed, their voice warm. “Sounds like something I could do, yeah.”
The street felt quiet for a moment. Hange looked at Levi, their usual confidence shifting into something hesitant, almost shy.
“Well
” They tilted their head, a small, nervous smile forming.
Before Levi could think it through, his hand moved, reaching out to brush a stray strand of hair away from their forehead. The gesture was brief but tender, catching Hange off guard. Their eyes widened slightly, their cheeks warming as they stood frozen for a second.
Levi pulled his hand back, his expression unreadable except for the faintest hint of something soft in his gaze. “Your hair’s a fucking mess, Four-Eyes.”
The tension just vanished and they both laughed softly.
As Levi was about to turn to leave, Hange surprised him, leaning in and brushing the lightest, most hesitant kiss against his cheek.
“Thanks for today,” they said quietly, stepping back before Levi could reply.
Levi stared at them, momentarily at a loss for words.
His face burned, whether from the cold or something else entirely, he couldn’t say.
“Just don’t be late next time,” he replied, walking away before Hange could see the faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Hange watched him go before turning and heading home, their smile never fading.
Tumblr media
Levi and Hange were lost in their own small world at the corner table, the humming of conversations and the occasional clink of porcelain blurred in the background. Steam curled up from their drinks, warming their cold hands and flushing their cheeks.
Hange took a generous sip of their overly sweet concoction and sighed contentedly.
“This really takes me back,” they said, their voice tinged with nostalgia. “It feels like nothing’s changed here.”
Levi hummed quietly in agreement, his black tea cooling in front of him. His eyes drifted to Hange’s hand resting on the table, fingers drumming absently against the wood. Without thinking, his own hand shifted closer, brushing against theirs in a fleeting touch.
Hange glanced up, surprised by the uncharacteristic gesture, but Levi kept his gaze fixed on his cup. “I still have it, you know,” he confessed, his voice low, almost reluctant.
“Have what?” Hange tilted their head, their curiosity piqued.
“The leaf,” Levi said simply, his thumb lightly grazing over Hange’s knuckles now. “The one you gave me that day. Pressed it in a book.” He paused, feeling the heat rise to his face. “Still there.”
Hange blinked, their expression softening into something unmistakably tender. “You’re kidding.”
“Do I look like I’m joking?” Levi grumbled, finally meeting their gaze.
Hange’s face broke into a radiant smile, one that made Levi’s chest tighten in that familiar, inexplicable way. “Levi Ackerman, you always surprise me,” they teased.
“Tch. Don’t get used to it,” he deadpanned. However, he didn’t pull his hand away, his thumb slightly brushing their ring instead.
Hange hesitated, their fingers curling around the edge of their mug as they shifted slightly in their seat. Their eyes flickered between Levi’s face and the steam rising from their drink before finally settling on the view outside the window..
“That first date. I still think about it often.”
Levi watched them quietly, his brow furrowing slightly at their uncharacteristic hesitation. “You do?” he asked softly, as though he wasn’t sure if he should press.
Hange nodded, their gaze dropping for a moment before they bit their lip, a faint smile playing at the corners of their mouth.
“Yeah. Especially
” Their voice trailed off as they glanced again toward the window to watch the soft snow falling outside. “The plushie you got me.”
Levi’s lips tugged upward as he thought about the ugly stuffed toy sitting in Hange’s office. “Don’t know why you’ve kept that thing all this time.”
“It’s sentimental,” they add in a whisper. “You got it for me and I love it.”
They fell silent, the weight of their words hanging in the air for a while.
Levi gently squeezed their hand and their eyes met.
Then suddenly, as though deciding something, Hange leaned down, fumbling among the paper bags resting by their feet. They picked up the red one, their fingers tightening on the handles as they placed it on the table in front of Levi.
He blinked at the bag, then at Hange, who was now watching him with a nervous expression.
“What’s this?” he asked, narrowing his eyes slightly.
“I was going to wait until Christmas,” Hange began quickly, their words tumbling over one another. “But this
this just feels like the right moment.”
Levi raised a skeptical eyebrow but pulled the bag toward him, carefully lifting out the contents. His movements stilled when he realized what it was: a soft, absurdly detailed titan onesie.
For a moment, Levi said nothing, simply staring at the tiny outfit in his hands. His thumb brushed over the fabric, lingering on the little details -the ridiculous hood, the tiny mittens. Then his eyes flicked up to meet Hange’s.
Their heart pounded as they studied his face for any reaction, their own nerves fraying with each passing second. “It’s, uh, a little
symbolic,” they started, biting their lip again.
His lips parted slightly, and for a fleeting second, Hange swore they saw a flicker of emotion in his usually composed expression.
He cleared his throat.
“You
You’re serious?” he asked, almost breathless.
Hange simply nodded, their nervous smile giving way to something warmer, more certain.
Levi’s gaze dropped back to the onesie in his hands. He clicked his tongue, but the corners of his mouth turned upward, the faintest hint of a smile breaking through.
“A titan onesie. Of course you had to make it weird, Four-Eyes.”
Hange laughed, their shoulders relaxing as relief and joy washed over them. “Would you expect anything less from me?”
Levi didn’t answer, but smiled instead, his eyes still on the onesie as his fingers brushed over it again, this time more gently.
Tumblr media
The room was quiet, save for the soft ticking of the clock on the bedside table. The flickering glow of the street lights peeked through a crack in the curtain, painting patterns and shadows on the walls.
Levi lay behind Hange, his arm draped protectively over their side. They were sound asleep, their breathing slow and even, their hair a messy halo over the pillow.
He could feel the gentle rise and fall of their chest beneath his arm, a steady rhythm that usually lulled him to sleep.
But tonight Levi’s eyes remained open, his gaze fixed on the ceiling. His mind raced with a muddle of thoughts he couldn’t quite organize.
A dad. He was going to be a dad.
The thought alone sent an odd mix of feelings coursing through him -anticipation, fear, uncertainty. What the hell did he know about being a father? Could he even do this?
His chest tightened, but before the doubts could spiral further, he shifted closer to Hange, burying his nose in the crook of their neck. The faint earthy scent of their skin and the warmth of their body slowly shushed his anxious thoughts.
His hand brushed gently over their belly. He let out a quiet breath, and started to whisper in the dark as if the baby could somehow hear him.
“Oi, brat. Hope you get the color of their eyes. Or their brains. Or maybe their enthusiasm, I don’t fucking know
. Whatever, you’ll be amazing like them anyway.” He chuckled. “Don’t tell them or Four-Eyes will never let me hear the end of it.”
He pressed a kiss to the back of Hange’s neck, soft and lingering.
“Don’t know how that works but I’ll do my best. We’ll do our best. And I’ll love you just as much as I love them. I promise.”
As he kissed their warm skin again, Hange stirred faintly, letting out a quiet sigh before settling back into sleep. Levi closed his eyes, letting their presence soothe him.
For now, he would let the worry go.
For now, he would just hold them and cherish this moment.

Watching you always filled his heart with so much love and joy. The way you moved and held yourself was so intoxicating to Levi. With a heart filled with adoration and deep love, he felt so proud to be married to a wonderful woman like you. You were always so kind and caring to everyone, but sometimes too kind and that started to show.
While Levi watched you for a bit as Erwin got a few things ready and spoke to his wife, Levi noticed a man pestering you, but because you were so nice you humoured this man. "Tch, scum."
Kat, Erwin's wife, joined Levi and looked down the aisle. "Oh, yeah that sort of thing happens all the time to us?"
Levi looked repulsed. "Really?"
"Yeah, guys seem to have it in their head we're all whores." She sighed and fixed Erwin's collar. "Plus, they want to join the mile-high club."
"She's already in it."
Erwin cleared his throat. "Levi."
Kat patted Erwin's chest. "So are we, darling."
He hugged his wife against him. "I'm sure your wife can handle this idiot."
Levi rubbed the back of his neck. "I trust her, but she can be too nice to people. I just don't want her to get hurt."
Erwin looked at his watch. "You'll have to catch up with her on our break. We've got to start moving."
Levi grumbled under his breath and waited until you waved at him and blew him a kiss. He blushed and blew you one back before joining Erwin. Erwin made the announcement because Levi never liked them. After flying smoothly for a while it was break time.
Levi left the cockpit and looked for you to see you were stuck with the man from before. So, Levi leaned against the wall and glared at the man who wouldn't stop talking. As soon as you turned for a moment he saw the guy was eyeing you like meat. Now Levi was pissed off more than before.
You slipped away from the man and hurried over to your husband. "Finally, hi."
Levi pulled you close. "That shitbird bothering you?"
"He's just friendly."
"Bullshit, he keeps fucking you with his eyes."
You pouted. "Are you mad at me?"
He stopped in a private part of the plane. He cupped your face and kissed you. "Darling wife, I could never be mad at you. I love you with everything in my heart and soul. I'm just worried about you. That guy was eyeing you up like meat." He showered your face with kisses. "You are more than that. You're my adorable cute Queen."
You giggled. "Thank you, my handsome King."
He brought you over to a spot to rest. "If he bothers you, you tell me, okay?"
You nodded. "Promise."
The two of you enjoyed lunch together before parting ways once more. It bothered Levi that you weren't coming to visit and bring drinks, it was only Kat. He knew that it had to be because this guy on the plane was being very demanding of you. He was thankful the flight wasn't too long.
When they landed he did his usual routine of standing near the exit. He glared at the man once again flirting and bothering you, but this time you looked uncomfortable. He waved at you and you waved at him with a scared look, you were asking for help now.
Levi strutted down the aisle, that thankfully was almost empty. "Everything okay here?"
The man smirked at Levi. "How do you do it, Captain?"
Levi's brow raised. "Do what?"
"Run this plane with these angels on the plane?" He winked at you. "What a stunning woman."
Levi held your hand and pulled you against him. "She's my wife."
The man stared at Levi. "Oh, so she's married to you."
"You knew she was married?"
He nodded. "Well, she is wearing a ring and she did say she was married, but marriages are easily broken."
Levi moved you behind him. "Listen here, shit stain, she's my wife. Mine. You touch her or go near her and I'll rip your balls off and shove them down your throat." He punched the man in the gut causing him to cough. "Asshole." He turned to you. "Come on, beautiful." He picked you up making you squeak. "You're mine."
You blushed. "I am."
"All mine."
You showered his face with kisses. "I'm Mrs Ackerman. I love you."
He chuckled. "I love you, always."

Okay this is a thought I’ve been having bc I just got my Brazilian wax done today, but how would the aot boys react to you surprising them with a fresh wax if it’s something you’ve never done or mentioned interest in to them before? 👀👀👀
18+ | NSFW | MDNI !!
tw: heavily implied nsfw, shaving:hairlessness, dirty talk, somewhat domination, etc. despite being nsfw, it’s relatively not too dirty <3
eren jaeger is, well, speechless. he’s not one to have a preference, especially when it comes to you. but fuck, the idea of you gettting a brazilian just for him is something he loves just a little too much. he can’t wait to have you and take in the smoothness, knowing it’s just for him.
armin arlert is a little bit of a blusher. despite armin and you fucking all the time, he still gets nervous. he can’t believe that you’d do something like that just for him but, god, he does not let it go to waste.
jean kirstein is a greedy motherfucker. when you show him, he’s all “baby, you did this for me?” he sees right through your bullshit about wanting to be ‘neatly groomed,’ he takes his time with you, basking in your smoothness and the idea of you picturing his reaction.
connie springer has no words for you when you show him your bare crotch. he tries, god, does he trie. his brain shuts down immediately and you’re the one who needs to guide him. connie has no problems following your orders.
reiner braun goes all red in the face. despite dating for a while, he is concerned about your intentions and your consent. your bottom half nakedness isn’t enough to provoke him. he says “wow, it looks really nice” and you have to nudge him along.
bertholdt hoover is so so embarrassed. he’s so glad no one’s around to look at you, and that no one’s around to see him turn the shades of red he does. he tries to be brave, muttering out a “come here.”
levi ackerman chuckles slightly. “you just couldn’t help yourself, could you?” he’d purr. he’d appreciate every inch of your body, especially your hairless under carriage, kissing every tender bit. he’s honored to see you like this.
erwin smith’s ego grows a little bit at the sight of you naked and hairless. he orders you to come over to him. when you do, he just admires the smoothness of your bare body, thanking you all the while for being so brave and showing him.
porco galliard can’t wait to eat you right up. he’s always found you too sexy for his own good, but fuck, were you killing him right now. he’d beg for you. “please, (y/n), c’mere, baby. you look so good for me.”
zeke jaeger laughs, a hearty chuckle from deep within. “you did this for me?” he asks. he shakes his head and encourages you to come forward, just a bit of red in his cheeks. he’s so embarassed, being put on the spot like this, but he’s so thankful and makes sure you know it.

Erwin x black reader = chef’s 💋
you right you righttttt. like how my name supposed to be dilf lovers if i’m not showing no love to the dilfssss
dilf!erwin who doesn’t actually have kids, but was always seen as a father figure to the ones in his neighborhood. whether it be playing basketball at the park with the teens or buying the little ones ice cream, dilf!erwin always made the kids happy.
dilf!erwin who all the moms swooned over, but he never really payed anyone any mind, until he met you

you were picking up your little sister from elementary school when you saw him there. you had no idea who he was, but you knew none of the kids you’ve met before belonged to him. you were side eyeing him multiple times, labeling him as some type of creep by the way he was looking around with his hands in his pockets looking suspicious. he eventually caught you staring and took it a sign to approach you.
“uhh hi. is this the parent pickup area.”
the moms there were all whispering among themselves during your interaction with this man, acting as if he was some type of celebrity. you payed them no mind though, giving him another weird stare, still hesitant on telling him the truth just incase he was, in fact, a creep.
he smirked at you, chuckling a little before continuing.
“swear m’not a creep. just here to pick up my friends niece.” he held his hands up in defense before digging in his pockets for his phone. he then unlocked it before pointing it towards you. there he sat with the kid you’ve come to know as mikasa on what looked like her porch, ice cream cones in their hands as they made silly faces at the camera. you couldn’t contain your laughter, eventually stopping and giving the man a shy nod, feeling a little bad for giving him weird stares earlier.
“m’sorry about that. you can never be too safe these days.”
he nodded in understanding, waving his hand to let you know it wasn’t an issue.
“no no i get it. i could’ve been an actual weirdo and you would’ve been the only one to notice. no help t’these ladies. i could’ve been here to snatch up one of their kids and they wouldn’t of known a thing
too busy staring at my ass.”
he pointed to the ladies behind him with his thumb, giving them a small wave before turning back to you. the giggles that were coming from these grown women behind you would’ve made you think you were in high school again. you started laughing as the man rolled his eyes at the group of moms behind him.
“i’m erwin. erwin smith.” he held out his hand for you to shake, which you happily took.
“i’m y/n. it’s nice t’meet you.”
dilf!erwin who was filthy rich, but never looked like it. choosing to wear sweatsuits and white tees instead of tailored suits.
dilf!erwin who decided his money would be put to better use in your pocket rather than his.
“i-i can’t take this.” you say as you push the black card back towards the man in bed with you. the two of you have been having this thing going on for awhile now. sneaking away to each others houses in the middle of the night to fuck each others brains out before the neighborhood ladies could find out and bombarded you with questions.
“you’d put better use to it than i do. plus, i wanna see you in more of this.” he hooked his finger into the waistband of your lingerie before letting it snap back onto your brown skin. you eventually take the card, but still only use if for an occasional coffee or gifts for him.
dilf!erwin who gets jealous very easily, seeing you as his and his alone. so when he’d see the other college boys approaching you to try to get your number he couldn’t help but make it known you were his right then and there. giving you a small “hey love” in the middle of park before tonguing you down right in front of them, earning loud gasps from everyone there.
dilf!erwin who didn’t really care about what the neighborhood moms thought of him, knowing half of them probably cheat on their husbands with the pool boys anyways.
dilf!erwin who never saw himself having kids of his own until he start fucking wit you. every time he saw a pregnant woman he’d get to thinking about how pretty you’d look like that. stomach swole with his child as you wobbled around his house. it made him hard just thinking about it.
dilf!erwin who decided to stop pulling out, trying to knock you up as soon as possible so he can have a kid of his own.
“f-fuck daddy m’gonna cum” your arms were held behind your back by each of his hands, pulling your chest from the bed as he pounded into you from behind. “go ahead baby m’still not stopping.” the tight coil in your stomach began to snap for the third time tonight and your boyfriend still didn’t let up, continuing his fast pace before flipping you over and shoving all nine inches of himself back into you.
“w-why are y-you f-fucking me like t-thissss?” you had no idea on what has gotten into him for you to be getting fucked like this, but you honestly weren’t complaining. your lover put his large hand around your neck, squeezing the sides as he watched your eyes roll back. “because daddy loves you so much fuck- he’s gon give you a baby. want you all swollen and chubby wit my kid in you and this is the easiest way t’do it.” you couldn’t even register his words over the loud *plap plap plaps* of his hips slapping against your thighs.
“now just relax and let daddy work princess. still got two more loads t’give you before i can let you sleep.”
dilf!erwin is the best

hey hey! its one of your readers on ao3 i realized i can ask questions on tumblr so i am trying it out. this may be a controversial question as opinions vary greatly from person to person lool but i am curious being a fellow fan of aot and a fan of your work, so, what did you think about the ending to aot? 👀
(personally i subscribe to a specific fan theory (NOT ANR GOD FORBID i rebuke it!) to keep hope alive in my heart that theres more aot to come cause i did not like the ending much so basically, theres no judgement from me srsly im delulu myself as it stands 😭💯)
anyway thats all thank you for writing left behind and answering my question (potentially)! hope you have a great rest of your day :D
Tumblr media
Yeah I know your nickname haha and you can ask or yap about anything!
Ahh yes the ending opinions where swords are drawn two minutes into the debate lol and it’s annoying that people can’t state their thoughts as freely because of the toxicity from every side. This is going to be long I’m sorry😭
I personally didn’t like the ending that much either. I don’t think it’s as bad as people make it out to be, I mean we’ve all seen GoT, but I know a story like AoT could’ve done a little bit better than that, so. It’s not that I wanted Eren to live happily ever after, because his death made the most sense even before I knew about it, but it’s the execution of the episode in general that makes it feel rushed for me.
Mikasa killing him is a beautifully tragic twist, I started bawling my eyes out right there, but I wish the cabin scene was done differently. For me it didn’t feel as raw and honest as the Eren-Armin convo, which I’m not the biggest fan of either, but I’ve always wanted more communication for Eremika so maybe that makes me bitter. Let me see them talk about the table scene and let me see Eren apologise to her. It’s their last moment together, I wanted to see more emotion and honesty rather than an already established relationship that they did off camera. I get what it’s trying to show, and the scene itself is not bad, but I was just a big EM shipper at the time and hoped for more. (I felt the same back when he told her he would wrap that scarf around her forever and always. It hit me just in the right place I remember wanting them to talk about it afterwards but nothing was said.) Same with the memories he gave back to his friends, I’d have liked to see them talk. Him opening his eyes one last time to see her was beautiful no comment there.
Other than that I also LOVED when Levi saluted his friends and comrades! Liked his internal monologue where he said he didn’t regret not bringing Erwin back (Which also made me wish we could’ve seen Armin coming up with impressive strategies and ideas like he used to.)
I liked how Hange was sent off, but I missed them in the final fight.
I really liked the rumbling montage with Guilty Hero playing and Armin’s VA pouring her heart out + that cry at the end when Armin sees Eren. The Levi&Mikasa team-up/final stand was amazing. Those were all done nicely, but that’s pretty much it for me.
For some reason I wasn’t vibing with Annie. I mean she was never my fav but her in season one and in her ova was so much more interesting to me.
I was left underwhelmed by the final fight considering we’ve had great battles like RTS and Liberio previously, it does not compare in my opinion. I understand that Eren won’t kill his friends and I definitely agree with that, but something else could’ve been done with Ymir to make the stakes higher. The ancient titans didn’t feel threatening when you just knew no one was going to die, especially when Falco (first time flying) could dodge all of their arrows.
When everyone there turned into titans, like Jean and Connie, I would’ve preferred if they stayed titans and died when the curse ended. Bringing them back a few minutes later is just meh for me, and makes the emotions I’ve felt a one time thing only because that Jean&Connie dialogue didn’t hit the same afterwards. Not to mention that Connie’s mom was brought back only for us to not see their reunion lol.
Ymir’s storyline was interesting when Eren saw her memories, but after that she lost me a bit. I also don’t like that that *chef’s kiss* scene with Eren telling her she’s just a person didn’t free her at all, that killing Zeke stopped the Rumbling, that Levi was nerfed for the sake of the fight. If all these decisions were done in a slightly expanded time period, I don’t think I would’ve minded much. Especially the final episode itself was, again, rushed in my opinion.
Also, this isn’t just the finale but Historia being sidelined like that is a no-no for me. Not a fan of how the Hizuru-Mikasa plot line didn’t go anywhere either. That may just be nitpicking, but again I do believe season 4 should’ve been longer, maybe with a season 5 as well.
With all that being said, these are just my personal opinions/feelings and despite all, thematically the author did a good job wrapping everything up. Ending a story like AoT couldn’t have been easy at all. Watching it was an experience I don’t think I’ll ever forget or get over and I’m forever going to miss it. (I’m reading the manga now and the uprising arc has me hooked since it’s a bit different from the anime, and dare I say better?)
The ending didn’t ruin it for me or anything, just sad that I won’t get to see the things I wanted to see because naturally everyone has their own expectations, but what are fanfictions for?
What’s the fan theory that you believe? Other than that ANR I’ve heard about the mist and ouroboros but I’ve never read them in detail.
Thank you for reading Left Behind! I’d also like to state that my criticism of the AoT ending does not mean I’ll write one better lol. I like my ending for my story but I’ve already made peace with the fact that some readers might have problems with it. Which is fine as well because I love a good finale debate.
You have a great day/night as well!💓

Sumary: When Levi was forced to join the Survey Squad, he left someone behind, someone who had grown to hate him since then...
(Levi was forced to join the Survey Squad by Erwin, that's also why I don't like the ship Eruri [I love both, but together it's just toxic])
Pairing: Levi x fem! Reader
Warnings: Mention of abusive childhood, many traumas (bullying, mental abuse,...), angst, hurt
Tumblr media
Years have passed since you last saw him. The guy you grew up with, and the guy who betrayed you.
Growing up was hard for both of you. You had more luck with the standard of the family, but still, your life was hard. Being the kid of two people who hated each other and only communicated by yelling and fighting wasn't exactly a good place for a child.
People around you always found something to mock and bully you. Kids your age were the worst. Except for him, you met Levi when you were forced to go to a club with your so-called father.
He never stopped drinking, so you just went to search for a silent corner to wait till this horror was over. But the only place that was at least a little bit calm was occupied with a dark-haired slim boy.
"Family problems?", you asked him.
"Something like that," he awnserd, and you silently walked towards and sat beside him.
"Wanna talk?,"
He shook his head for a 'No', which you totally got. You also wouldn't want to tell a literal stranger your deepest and darkest secrets, but on the other hand, letting it out would be better. It seemed like your whole life purpose was to hold the burdens of your family, no matter if you could take it or not.
"What's your name? I'm (Y/n). My siblings wanted that to be my name. It's ugly. I know,"
"Levi," he awnserd short and quietly.
"You know, my father is a lot here. It would be nice to have someone here I could spend my time with. Would you mind?",
He just blinked, which you got as a sign that he didn't care. But you weren't someone to give up just like that. Otherwise, you might have never managed to survive.
Breaking the ice was hard when it came to this boy, but after a few times of being there, he even told you that he actually liked your name and thought it was pretty. A little while after that, you caught him crying because some neighbor kids made fun of him (this was before his mother died, so he didn't know how to defend himself cause no Kenny). Those weren't new for you. They also constantly mocked you.
"Hey! Three against one? You're cowards!" After you managed to distract them from Levi, you tricked them into believing you went home when you really went to search for your friend.
You found him leaning onto a brick wall and sat beside him in silence.
"Thanks, but why did you do that?",
"Because it's OK if they make fun of me, but not if they make fun of my friends. I don't care what they do to me. I look out for you. And I know you look out for me. That's what friends are there for,"
Since that incident, nothing parted you guys. You even switched your birth necklaces to show that you were connected. But everything good must come to an end.
When his mother died, you didn't see him for weeks, so when you went to look for him, you met his uncle Kenny. You both pep him up again, and since your family didn't care about you, you decided to be with Levi since he needed someone after losing his mother.
Kenny taught you how to defend and provide for yourself, but that was it. He left you when you had learned it all.
"Even if he's gone now, we still have each other. Nothing really bad can happen to us as long as we have each other,"
It was you. Always you. You were the one who comforted him when he had to deal with shit. You were there for him to fix what society broke. And even after you allied with others, you two were the closest. No one could come in between.
That's what you thought.
After your team took Isabel in, you thought it would only become better. She even called Levi, her big brother, to his annoyance. It was like a sting right to your heart. But Isa didn't know what you both had gone through together, so you felt guilty of feeling this way. Besides her seeing him like her brother, didn't mean you were replaced! Your bond was stronger than that of siblings or lovers. Once you swore to never let anything part you, you'd never be separated, never.
Until one order changed everything.
You thought it was the Military Squad, but nope, it was the Survey Squad. You were the only one who managed to get away. But you watched from a distance how a soldier pushed Levi into a puddle of mud that had the consistency of water. Hell for him...
But when you went to go closer to hear what they were saying. You only heard Levis annoyed:"I'll join the Survey Squad."
A punch into your guts. He'd leave the underground. He'd leave you! Breaking the promise HE made you. And for joining a squad?!
You weren't someone who cried. When your whole body was covered in bruises because of a fight that didn't go as planned, no tear. Your family yelling and insulting you, no sob. But now your eyes became watery, and your vision blurry. It felt as if you were suffocated. Breathing was almost impossible.
As if the whole ground you believed to be steady and safe just tore open to devour you.
No, you wouldn't cry! Not because of him and especially not while still seeing him.
A few weeks after that, you luckily met Kenny again. It was more like he found you.
Since that scene, it was like you had to go through every trauma you experienced again, but this time on your own without someone at your side. Kenny told you of his new job at the Military Squad and that he could need a tough girl like you.
Training and years in hiding. That was your whole life from then on. With nothing on your mind, then to finally throw this damn birth necklace of him away. It was your kind of connection, your bond, after all.
Allying with the man that once left you and him. Just to tell humanitys strongest soldier one thing.
And finally, the day came. The Survey Squad decided to turn against the Military Squad. And that was your and Kenny's time.
Fighting your way to his side, just to slowly rip his birth necklace off your neck, look at him with disgust, and throw it into a mud puddle before his feet. With one word on your lips.
"Traitor"
