"The Hague made international headlines for being the first city in the world to approve legislation prohibiting marketing of fossil fuel-related products and services. This major ruling, issued earlier this month, seeks to limit the promotion of items with a high carbon footprint, such as gasoline, diesel, aviation, and cruise ships. The ban, which goes into effect at the start of next year, will affect both government and privately funded advertisements, including those on billboards and bus shelters throughout the Dutch metropolis.
This groundbreaking legislation establishes an important precedent in the global fight against climate change. Other cities have attempted to limit the reach of high-carbon items through council ordinances or voluntary agreements with advertising operators, but The Hague’s prohibition is the first that is legally binding. It is a major step forward for cities around the world that want to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change head-on.
A response to global calls for action
The prohibition comes after UN Secretary-General António Guterres called earlier this year for countries and media outlets to take tougher action to combat fossil fuel advertising, citing parallels with existing tobacco advertising bans. Guterres stressed that, as with the tobacco industry in the past, fossil fuel businesses are contributing to a worldwide public health crisis—in this case, climate change. Governments can help change public behavior and prevent the normalization of high-carbon lifestyles by limiting their capacity to market.
Several cities have already made tiny moves in this direction. Edinburgh, for example, approved a council vote in May prohibiting fossil fuel-related ads in city-owned venues. The Scottish capital also prohibits enterprises that sell these products from sponsoring events or developing partnerships. However, unlike The Hague’s legislation, Edinburgh’s ban is voluntary and only applies to council spaces.
A legally binding first
The Hague’s new law is significant since it is legally binding. The restriction affects not only specific items, such as gasoline, diesel, and fossil fuel-powered vehicles but also businesses such as aviation and cruise ships. However, the rule exempts fossil fuel firms’ political advertising or efforts supporting a generic brand, allowing these businesses to keep prominence...
The impact of advertising on behavior
Advertising’s impact on consumer behavior is well-documented, and many experts say that fossil fuel marketing undercut climate legislation by encouraging unsustainable behavior. Thijs Bouman, an associate professor of environmental psychology at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, stated that “fossil fuel advertising normalizes the use of high-carbon products and services, making it more difficult to change consumer habits.” ...
Catalyzing change worldwide
The Hague’s move may have repercussions beyond its borders, spurring similar actions in other cities around the globe. Cities such as Toronto, Canada, and Graz, Austria, are already launching campaigns to outlaw advertising for fossil fuels. In the Netherlands, both Amsterdam and Haarlem have outlawed marketing for climate-damaging products like beef, but these measures have yet to become legislation.
Sleegers believes that The Hague’s move will act as a spur for other towns to follow suit. “More cities have a wish to implement the fossil ad ban through ordinance, but they were all waiting for some other city to go first. The Hague is this city,” she said, predicting that more local governments will now feel empowered to act...
As the world grapples with the rising costs of climate change, The Hague’s pioneering move provides a potential model for other cities looking to minimize their carbon footprints. With cities like Toronto and Amsterdam keeping a careful eye on things, this legislation has the potential to start a global campaign to prohibit fossil fuel advertising.
More cities may follow suit in the coming years, hastening the transition to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future."

January 5th 1899: saw the first electric-powered tram in Glasgow begins the replacement of the horse-drawn service.
The very beginnings of trams in the city can be traced back to The Glasgow Street Tramways Act of 1870, which allowed Glasgow Town Council to decide if they wanted to put tramways on the streets of the city.
The first horse drawn tram route was laid in 1872, running for a length of 4km between St George's Cross to Eglinton Toll on the south side of the city across Jamaica St bridge.
Fast forward 16 years, and in October 1898 the Glasgow Tramways Committee commenced an experimental electrified tram route between Springburn and Mitchell Street, the success of which paved the way for the electrification of the city's tram routes.
Doing so would see electric trams replace the more than 3000 horses used by the council to pull the cars over 150 miles of track throughout the city, which begun in 1899 when the council made a commitment to electrification.
Even with a top speed of 8 miles per hour, electrified trams were cheap, comfortable and - most importantly - reliable, and it wouldn't be long before they completely dominated the urban transport system of Glasgow.
n 1902, in a year when horse drawn cars stopped operation and with only half of the city's electrification complete, trams were already carrying 20% of the passenger total for the whole of Scotland.
Tram use became even more ubiquitous once the tram lines extended into the city's suburbs, peaking in 1919/1920, when an estimated 97.9% of people in the city used trams to move around - at a time when Glasgow had one of the most densely populated urban centres in Europe.
At one point in time the junction of Jamaica Street and Renfield Street in Glasgow city centre was among the busiest in the world, with an estimated 466 tram cars passing through every hour, a figure that would increase to 516 on Saturdays.
And the trams continued to be the most popular form of public transport in Glasgow well into the 1940's while in direct competition to buses, carrying up to four times as many passengers as buses as late as 1947.
Ten years later, over 1,000 tram cars were still serving city, carrying 300 million passengers a year over more than 250 miles of routes, yet trams had started to become an unprofitable enterprise for the city's transport department - in the face of the profitability of both the bus and subway network.
The last available figures released by Glasgow Corporation Transport Committee showed that in 1956/1967 52% of transport users used the tram network to get around , yet even so change was underfoot.
And despite the fact that Glaswegians were fiercely proud of their 'caurs', the tram system was gradually phased out between 1956 and 1962, with the final trams operating on September, 4 that year to mark the end for an era both for the city and its transport network.

@jegulus-microfic | january 2, prompt: fire | word count: 1.575 featuring older ceo regulus black and younger intern james potter
“A truffle wagyu burger with hand-cut fries? What does that even fucking mean?!” James shouts into the receiver as he winds through the busy masses of bodies crossing the roads, the traffic light across blinking for him to hurry. “Can’t I pick up something for him from Burger King or something? You know, like a normal human being?”
On the other end of the line, Barty snorts a derisive sound. “Yeah, you try feeding him cheap chain franchise slob and see how that plays out for you. The fucker thinks Versace is a low-class brand, James. He probably doesn’t even know what the inside of a Burger King looks like. Besides, that place is fire. They have good shit.”
Groaning, James picks up the speed and sets out for a sprint, having missed the bus to Howick and resorted to the most reliable way of transport—his two sets of healthy, always moderately trained legs.
“Are you running? You better not be fucking running, Potter. You’re going to come back all sweaty and with creases in your cheap-ass button-up and then I’m going to be the one getting shit for not driving you and ruining the image of Regulus Black’s executive assistant—”
“Suck a dick, Barty,” James bites back after barely evading a car, its tires screeching at him in warning. He throws the driver an apologetic smile.
“I’m serious. You meal-prepped, Potter! Asked where the fucking office microwave is, are you out of your mind? Lunch is on company credit, for fuck’s sake. You’ve got an image to uphold now you’re working for Black Enterprises!”
“The cafeteria is too rich for my taste. Besides, I like meal-prepping. It’s calming.”
“Your fucking tuna stinks up the place.”
“Maybe that’s just your big bullshitting mouth.”
“Listen here, you piece of—”
“Oops, entering a tunnel, hear that?” James cups a hand over the receiver and makes a low, grating sound—mimicking the static rasp of a bad cellular connection. “See you!”
He tucks away the phone before entering Beauxbatons, the restaurant Barty had told him to go to because Regulus was craving his guilty snack, which, to James, sounded like an item right off a witch’s menu. Then again, he was a poor twenty-three-year-old who had just had a gap year fresh out of university, lived in a run-down apartment tucked in Southern London, and knew nothing of the expensive tastes a man like Regulus Black possessed. Thirty-something years old and not a single skin blemish. Must be all the fucking truffle and caviar and whatever Boiron guava puree he eats.
“Welcome,” one of the employees asks. Of course, all of the staff are also wearing pristine clothes and have perfectly sleeked-back hair.
“Hi,” James answers, now all too conscious of the developing sweat marks below his armpits and the dampness cooling on his back. “I’m, uh, here to pick up lunch? Sorry, I forgot my order so let me have a peek at my messages…”
The employee blinks like James has grown a second head. “Take-away? Sir, this is a dine-in restaurant.”
Good thing James has come prepared. He shuffles through the contents of his bag, phone in the other hand and tip of his tongue peeking out in full concentration. “Oh, that’s alright. I brought something to carry it with me. I also got some Tupperware if you don’t mind rinsing it beforehand.”
“No, sir, it’s not a matter of containers,” the employee starts, her lips pursed into a tight line. “We don’t do takeaways.”
James stops and frowns, bag half slung over his shoulder. “Isn’t this Beauxbatons?”
“It is.”
“My boss sometimes has people pick up his lunch here.”
“You must be mistaken… We do not lend any type of service like that.”
James sighs. Great. Amazing. Just what he needed. “Right. Do you mind if I make a call? I’m sorry, there must have been a mistake then.”
The employee, undoubtedly taking pity on him and his disorderly state that suggests he’s been running the past ten minutes, nods. “Of course.”
Heaving a sigh, James scrolls through his contact list and taps on ‘Regulus’, never mind that he has been firmly instructed to only call him during emergencies. But considering the sort of day he’s been having, he considers this one.
Regulus picks up after the third ring. “Potter?”
It’s been two weeks and he still won’t fucking call him by his name, going off on tangents about formal office conduct and etiquette. Potter this, Potter that, bridling when he’s called by his first name for a change in an environment that would kiss the soles of his feet if he’d ask. “Hi, I’m at the place you sent me the address of but they don’t do takeaways so I wanted to know what you want to eat. You cool with Wagamama?”
There’s a pregnant pause—all too telling of how Regulus is probably taking a deep breath and doing the thing where he either pinches the bridge of his nose or rubs his eyebrows. “Have you mentioned the takeaway is for me?”
“No, I haven’t.” What difference would it make, James wants to ask. But in a world where Regulus Black is pretty much revered, he is confident it would make a little difference at least.
“Do that, Potter.”
James rolls his eyes before returning his attention to the employee. “He wants you to know his name is Regulus, by the way.”
Her eyes widen. “Reg—Do you mean Mr. Black?”
James clicks his tongue. “That the one.” The employee doesn’t look convinced and James holds up his hand just above his chest. “About this tall? Curly black hair? Probably in one of today’s morning tabloids, not hard to miss. I could put him on speaker if you’d like?”
There’s the frantic wave of her hands, head shaking vigorously. “Oh! You should have told me from the start, Sir. Please, what would Mr. Black like to eat for lunch? I—I’m sorry. We are very exclusive in our service and are most honored Mr. Black has once again chosen our humble establishment—”
“Just,” James sighs, skimming over the menu laminated standing on an easel by the entrance, not possessing the energy to listen to someone go off on tangents about his boss again. Not like he does so internally at night, anyway. Absolutely not. “A truffle wagyu burger with hand-cut fries.”
“Not fries, a salad—” Regulus reminds him over the phone, but James has decided that he will just about eat whatever James decides on.
“Potter—” Regulus tries again and James flat-out hushes him. To his surprise, Regulus actually shuts up.
The employee nods, over-excited. “Oh, of course, an excellent choice. How would Mr. Black like it to be cooked?”
James shrugs. “I don’t know, on a grill?”
There’s a faint garbled noise coming from Regulus that James will definitely tuck away in his memory.
But the employee is too thrilled to be serving someone as pompous as Regulus to notice the lack of culinary terminology James possesses. “Oh, I meant the cook of the meat!”
“The cook of the meat?” James repeats. “I don’t know, whoever is on shift? Regulus, who do you want to cook your burger?”
The employee makes a high-pitched sound at the same Regulus sighs in a very exaggerated, exhausted manner. “Just tell them medium rare.”
“Medium? What is this, a video game difficulty?”
“Medium rare!” the employee chirps, her smile wry. Strands of hair stick out of the previously perfectly pulled-back bun like the situation has created plenty of static to dishevel her updo. “One medium rare wagyu—”
“Don’t forget the fries,” James adds, unable to fight off the grin cleaving his face. This, he loves most—fucking with rich people. ‘Who do you want to cook your meat?’ he’s a genius for that one, an absolute innovative mastermind. Make him head of corporate next at this rate.
“You had to call me for this?” Regulus asks him as James watches the poor girl scurry off to the back, undoubtedly to ring in the order and gush about the perfect, rich, hot-looking Regulus Black on the phone by the restaurant’s hallway.
“It was an emergency. I get you the wrong order and you, I dunno, bite off my head like Miranda Priestly.”
“I don’t know a Miranda Priestly.”
“No? Shame. Would’ve loved her, a real feisty woman that one. She works in the fashion industry, though.”
“Potter.”
James tries not to bark out a laugh. He can’t help it, Regulus is just too easy. “Yeah, I’ll get you your overtly expensive A3-grade cut of meat that could pay for my weekly rent. Didn’t take you for the type of man to get burgers, by the way.”
“That’s why I’m asking employees of a lower tax bracket to pick them up for me.”
Okay, that’s kind of funny. Regulus Black can be fucking funny if he wants to, he just rarely chooses to. James barely masks his snort at it. “Got me there, boss.”
“Get a cab back to the office. And stop calling me boss.”
“My bad, Sir,” James drawls, knowing that Regulus reacts particularly well to this specific formality.
A second of silence that stretches on for a little too long. James clears his throat, wondering if the line cut off. “Regu—”
“See you soon, Potter,” Regulus speaks, faster than usual, almost like he’s flustered, and with a strange pitch to his words before he hangs up.

Beyond the Bat: Pt I 🦇
Tumblr media
So I read a story a couple of months ago. It was about Terry McGinnis searching for and bringing all that Batboys (Ex:Dick,Jason,Tim, and Damian) back to the manor as an aging Bruce Wayne begins to die. I liked the story and premise of it. It made be think of stuff I wrote a long time ago and maybe I could write something similar but different. Especially with a reader instead of Terry. So let me know what you think. ;)
Batfamily x batsis!reader
Synopsis: Three years since Bruce’s disappearance, and with all of Batman’s former Robins gone, Gotham is under protection of the Batwoman, but she will need help to take on one of Gotham biggest Civil Wars ever.
—————
A seasoned and experienced Vickie Vale comes on the screen of a television. “It’s been three years since the mysterious disappearance of Billionaire-Philanthropist Bruce Wayne, Wayne was on a flight to Shanghai for a business trip when the flight was thrown off course. Still to this day the flight, crew or Mr. Wayne have been seen. Wayne Enterprise Chairman Lucius Fox released a statement.”
“Today marks three years since Mr. Wayne disappearance. I-I was originally supposed to born the plane but Bruce…he felt that he needed to go instead.” He swallows,” After consulting with authorities and with permission from the Wayne Estate I come before you to declare Bruce Wayne as dead. Normally this is something done after seven years, but the family has asked for this closure. We respect their wishes. No further common.” He leaves as several reports and journals ask question after question.
——
Vickie returns, “This was from the press conference earlier today. A private memorial service will be held for Wayne early next week. We from the GCN family as well as Gotham Thank you for your contribution Mr.Wayne and may you find peace wherever you are. I’m Vickie Vale and have a good night.”
————
Gotham City was a sea of old rotten gothic buildings and shiny overgrown skyscrapers. Gotham had been the early stages of becoming more a city of tomorrow. Though the plans had fallen without Bruce. Most of north Gotham was now being rebuilt and renovated, the lights of the older city still shinned just a light more dim due to the new LED light that consumed the night.
Sirens filled the night and busy traffic and honking on every corner. Three squad cars fly down the road chasing after two armed trucks.
Gunfire rings the night and civilian duck away from the street.
“Pull over! This is GCPD!” The cars race onto the bridge and barrel pass cars causing some minor accidents in its wake.
“Lenny, should we stop?” A rookie driver swerves from running into a gas truck. The goon beside him pulls off his skii mask and takes an assault rifle.
“And risk getting thrown into a cell, I’d rather die than let the boss know we got caught, keep drivin.”
Lenny takes the gun and starts firing towards the squad cars. Taking out of the tires causing it to crash into a three car accident.
“Pigs, still too slow for Rupert Throne men.” The car speeds up and then faint sound a ringing as the goons look at each other.
“Did you hear that?” The car jerks as they’re rammed into. “The fuck?”
The turn to see the Batmobile flying towards them.
“It’s the fucking Bat!” The driver floors the gas and takes the exit into East Gotham. The take a sharp turn and rush down the road.
The Batmobile rams into the truck again and the driver runs over a bus stop and light rail.
“Do something!” He shouts. Lenny takes the gun and fires at the car. The bullets fly off the car without a scratch.
“Shit.” The car speeds besides them and slide swipe the truck. It barrels over the Batmobile and crashes into a store front. The goons groan. Lenny takes a pistol and leans out the window.
The Batmobile is parked on the other side of the room but it’s not moving.
“Where’d he gooooooo-“ he fires the gun as he yanked from the window and the sound of punches and grunts are heard. The lanky drive makes a run for it but only get five feet before his foot his tied and he pulled across the ground and pulled up toward the truck.
“Help!!”
The figure leaps down and towers over him. It draws closure until the grab him by the shirt.
“Where’s Throne?” A gruff female voice snarls.
“Look-lady I don’t know.” He punched in the stomach.
“I won’t ask twice.” She grips him tighter.
“He fled this morning, we were supposed to take this stuff to the docks and that’s it I swear.” He cries.
Batwoman grins, “That was so hard was it.” And she punches him in the face knocking him out cold.
Squad cars and a transport truck arrive seconds later. Another black Police van arrives and Commissioner Barbara Gordon wheels her way to the scene.
“Another one of Throne men?” The older woman pushes her glass up. She huffs, “Any word on where he went?”
“He’s left this morning, knowing him he told his men one place and went in the complete opposite direction.” Batwoman holds a phone out and hands it to the Commissioner.
“You think he’d left something at his mansion, he’s not a sharp as he used to be. He’s getting sloppy with his trails.” She turns in her chair as Batwoman hoped into his car.
“I’ll find out.” The car raced down the street towards the outskirts of the city.
“Alfred.” Alfred appears on the screen. He’s more weather and more grey than normal but the older man is still able to assist anyway he can.
“I see you have stopped the stolen goods from reaching the Harbour, I take it as that will conclude your night?”
“Not likely, Rupert Throne’s men said he fled town this morning, any activity on his bank accounts, or the offshore ones?”
“You’d think a man of his age would learn to stop his shenanigans, but I digress. Three days ago $100,000 was withdrawn from his checking account. Nothing sense.”
Batwoman nods, “I’m heading to his house, Barbara thinks he’s getting sloppy and I agree.”
“Very well ma’am,I will be here if you need anything.”
——-
Batwoman drops down in front of the doors to the office and pushes it open. She swiftly moves inside and feels the air is stiff.
She scans the room and sees that it looks slightly messy. Papers scattered around the room and desk, the fire is long gone and it’s cold. The chairs at pushed to the ground and safe is wide open. She glides to it and scans it.
“His finger prints are recent. At least..three days old.” The glances into the safe to find it empty.
She worlds around the find the door toward the hallway ajar. She ventures into the dim hallway. She turns a corner and is shocked at the scene before her.
“Agent A, I’m sending live footage to the Batcomputer.”
“My word, it’s a massacre.” The hallway is full of Throne’s men dead, blood, painting the marble tiles and splattered across the walls.
“Who could have done such butchery?” Alfred asks. Batwoman check the body of one of the men.
Batwoman stands up,” judging by the smell of decomposing and state of the bodies the time of death was 72 hours ago.” She passed by the remaining bodies until she comes to two large wooden doors with blood splattered and a dagger embedded in it. She pushes it and across the room his the master bed with Rupert Throne’s body.
“That smell, he’s been here for just as long.”
“Dear Lord, and no one knew.”
She scans his body and finds a large gash in his chest.
“He was stabbed with a sword.” She scans his hand and find gun power. She finds the gun on his bed and she able to tell he used it.
She looks at the door and sees blood. She scans it and it doesn’t match the blood from the hallway or Rupert’s. She finds a blood trail the leads to the balcony. Old bloody bandages are found along with the bullet.
“Seems like whoever was there wasn’t able to do the job without getting injured. I can’t track any blood trails it been to long and the rain has washed it away.”
“I’ve already notified Ms. Gordon she’s in route.
Batwoman looks toward the city across the bridge. “Something’s missing Alfred, and I’m going to find out.”
——-
The Batmobile races through the waterfall and down the platform until it stop. Batwoman climbs out and takes the lift down toward the Batcomputer where Alfred sits and the computer with a cup of tea.
“And how was the rest of the night ma’am?” She pulls off the cowl and pushes her dark locks from her face.
“There’s assassins back in the city.” She begins typing and pulls up the three other crime scenes.
The two look at each one. A victim with either a single large gash or several closely net ones are the on the screen.
“It’s not the small killer, the one that killed Throne and his men are different than these three. These victims were struggling and suffered. Throne’s was quick.”
“As quick as having a sword shoved into your chest can be I presume.” H sips his tea and stands with his cane. He moved quietly as he always did but a little more slower.
Y/n sighs, “Is he awake?”
Alfred stops at the elevator and nods. “He’s been up for sometime, I’ll prepare breakfast.”
Y/n stands up and was to the display cases. All different suits.
Starting with a few of Bruce’s old suits, then the original Robin and Batgirl suits. Finally she stops at of last suits. Bruce’s last suit was in mint condition as he left it.
She turns to the empty case and start placing her gear in it.
—-
She emerges from the office and ties her hair up waking into the kitchen.
“Mommy!” A little boy with brown hair and blue eyes smile with syrup all over his face. Y/n wipes his cheeks and smiles.
“Did you sleep well?” The five year old boy nods while eating his food.
“Finish up so I can take you to school.” She walks toward Alfred who’s making a plate for her.
“It still feels weird to leave her sometimes.” She takes the mug from him as well and sips on her coffee.
“Master Bruce wanted to be sure you were safe while he was gone. I don’t think he indeed for it to be permanent but he enjoyed the company as do I.” Y/n rolled her eyes.
“If you say so, though I will say we enjoy it with you Alfred. Even considering the circumstances.” Alfred gives her a weak smile and begins washing dishes.
“I guess most Assistants don’t get his kind of attention, or is it due to the fact I keep Bruce on his toes.”
Alfred smiles, “It had been sometime since someone annoyed him the way you did, and I think it loved having someone to color with again.” He glances at Rowan who has finished his food and brings the plate to Alfred.
“What do we say Rowan?”
“Thank you Alfie.” He sings. Alfred smiles warmly at the kid.
“You’re very welcome, now run along and get your shoes so you can go to school.” Rowan runs out the room and Y/n hums.
“These Assassins, do you think they killed Bruce?” She asks. The room is still.
“I don’t know, but I must say I wouldn’t be surprised. I’ll contact Ms. Gordon and see if she has any information.”
Y/n places her mug down and walks to the foyer where Rowan has his shoes on with his backpack.
She slides into her sneakers and grabs her keys. “Let’s go kid.”
———-
After dropping off Rowan Y/n pushed through the doors of Wayne Enterprises. Some of the staff waved at her while some held other emotions.
She walked past the front desk and into the elevator towards the top floor. She is met the receptionist Sara who doesn’t look up from her computer.
“Good Morning, do you have an appointment with Mr. Fox?”
“Really Sara.” The ginger grins and looks toward the woman.
“How are you hun?”
“I’m good, about as good as anyone.” The double doors open and Lucius waves her inside.
“I’ll talk with you later.” Y/n walked into the large office where Lucius turned to an old chest table and unlocked hidden elevator. They take it down in the underground bunker.
“So what have you crafted this time?” She grins with her arms crossed over her chest eyeing the new prototypes.
He nods takes a blue batarang, he throws it and it instantly electrifies the dummy.
“Fancy.”
Lucius picks up a device and hands it over to Y/n. “This was something Bruce wanted crafted, I’m still getting it fine tuned but it’s useable. Alfred filled me on our new decline of population use it and it will instantly capture and give a small concentrated burst of energy to those wrapped in it. Should help should you get out numbered by assassins.”
“How thoughtful, I appreciate it. Though I’m sure you giving me new tech isn’t the only reason you wanted to see me so soon. What’s going on?”
He takes a seat and sighs. “Bruce’s memorial is next week. They’re gonna be some changes with stuff around here. Now I’m not leaving per se but with him…gone. My attention will need to be focused more on the business side for a while. I’ve asked Luke to come home he’ll be helping craft some more stuff for you while I’m busy.”
She nods. “I understand, I appreciate you still being able to help.”
He gets to his feet slowly, “My kids now I’d never leave this unless I died. But with his services coming there are something’s that will change for you too I’m sure.”
“I asked what will happen to the manor and the cave. Alfred it’s not just his decision, what does that mean?”
Lucius nods, “Bruce’s son will have to decide what will become of his estate. And they’ll all have to agree, not sure how that’ll go.”
The exit the elevator and the office returns to normal. “Let me know how the device works.” Y/n thanks him before leaving and returning to the manor.
She immediately enters the cave, where Alfred is waiting.
“Ms. Gordon is on the line for you.” Y/n sits her purse down and answers.
“What’s wrong Commissioner?”
“You’re not gonna believe this, the mayor was just killed in his office. How fast can you get down here?”
———
Batwoman emerges from the corner of the office. Barbara looks frustrated as the CSI team dust for prints, take pictures and exam the mayor’s corpse.
“When did you find him?” Batwoman strolls toward the body as a few tech move away.
“Just after lunch, his wife found him.” Batwoman scans the body. She notices the same claw marks and a golden dagger imbedded in his chest.
She takes it out and glances at it. The craftsmen was old but it was just as good as if it was made yesterday.
She returns to the Commissioner who she shows the blade to in a clear bag.
“I’ve never seen it before, can’t say it isn’t something new for use.”
“I don’t think this is a common killer this is the work of something more sinister.” Barbara nods and something catches her eye. It’s a small piece of paper with the same dagger holding it into the wall.
Batwoman takes it and unfolds the paper. She read it and turns to the Commissioner.
“I have to go.” Before Barbara can question her she’s already gone from the balcony.
——
As nightfall begins to sit in Batwoman lands on a rooftop of a hotel with the red neon lights of the building flashing.
She scans empty rooftop and comes to a stop, she dodges left as three morning stars are sent flying. She throws smoke and evades another wave of the weapons.
She backflips from a sword attack and disarms the person causing them to stumble. She begins to fight the ninja and is hit a few times.
“You are no match for me, impostor.” She spats. The ninja kicks Batwoman back and she stumbles giving the ninja time to drive a dagger into his thigh.
“You are nothing like your Predecessor. He was a lot more quicker.” She kick Batwoman who punches her in the side.
Ninja regains her balance and glares at her. “You’ll pay.” She picks up the sword and turns to the her.
“Who are you?” The ninja draws her blade at her throat.
“I am apart of the League of Assassins those who don’t want to be apart of the sorry and pathetic League it as become. Me and my faction are purists who only serve Ra Al Ghul and we will complete his mission. Neither you or this court will stop us.”
“What—court.” The ninja chuckles, “You don’t know, the Court of Owls. Your predecessor was on to them before they killed him. They will try to take Gotham back but we will defeat them, we already have the last known location of the Pits something they can’t recreate, they’ll to will bow before greatness—
Batwoman knocks the woman down and disarms her once more. The two are in a fight for the sword and Batwoman pulls the Assassin way and pulls off her mask.
The woman has a short black bob with a white strike throw her hair.
“Who,are you?” Batwoman huffs. She yells as a dagger is driven into her back.
“Mistress are you hurt?” Another assassin yanks the blade out of Batwoman.
She grins, “I am.” She gets her feet. “My name will be the last thing you hear before the poison kills you, I’m Nyssa and don’t worry about Gotham I’ll take good care of it.” And true to her wound everything went blurry and fuzzy. The last thing Y/n felt was hot then cold and everything faded to black.
————
The flashes of light, sound of being and muffled voices come in and out before slowly Y/n wakes up in the cave to the faint beeping of machines. She sits up and groans as a hand is placed on her’s.
“Barbara?” The older woman nods and squeezes her hand.
“Are you alright the poison nearly killed you?” Y/n tries to sit up but is pushed back down by Barbara.
“You need to rest, Leslie and Alfred worked on you for hours to make you stable you need to give your body time to heal.” She offers her a cup of water which Y/n takes in on gulp.
“Who got me off the rooftop?” Her voice is gruff.
“No, Alfred called in some help.” They both turned to a woman Y/n never wanted to see, at least she hoped.
“Hi kitten.”
“Hello,Selina.” Barbara wheeled out of the room and Selina drew closer taking her spot.
“Alfred called me, he was worried. I happened to be back in—“
“…I don’t care why you’re back, or what you’ve come to steal. I don’t want your help.” Selina kept a somewhat vague smile.
“I understand you hate me for leaving you-“
“My entire life was spent in and out of neighbors houses, in the system because you kept getting sent back to Blackgate. You were never there for me, you or my father you talked on and on about. I’m twenty-five and still don’t know who he is or was knowing you. So I don’t need your help. Not now and not again.” Y/n laid back down and grumbled in pain turning to look at her monitor. “You can go Selina.”
Selina nodded and exited the room. A few moments later Alfred entered and sighed.
“Ms. (L/N) You do know the extent of your injury. I needed to remind you what could have happened if Ms. Kyle wasn’t in the vicinity?”
“….”
He sighs,”Very well, while you were done Ms. Gordon and I had to find the Assassin next move. They’re going to kill everyone in their way in order to defeat one another I hate to say it but we do need the assistance.”
If looks could Alfred thought to himself. “I assume you I’m not referring to Miss Kyle, you’re going to need more than one person to help you take on two deadly threats.”
Against his advice Y/n gets to her feet and exits the medical bay and made a beeline for the computer and begins typing away until four files appear on screen.
“He didn’t talk much about them.” She mumbles to herself.
“They all had their own problems and struggles with Master Bruce. But they all knew when he needed the help, I just pray you’ll ask unlike he wouldn’t.”
“Where can I find them, most of these files are four years old and no known addresses for any of them?”
Alfred moved to the side as Barbara wheeled up to the computer and began typing away as if no time had passed.
“Dick will be easy to find, maybe not to recruit. He owns a martial art and gymnastic studio in East Bludheaven. Tim lives in New York he mostly keeps quiet with attending tech events. The others will take me time to find them, they tend to go off the grid.”
Y/n nod, “I drive out in the morning—“
“I’ll take you to Bludheaven myself, I’ve asked Ms. Gordon to look after Master Rowan for a few nights if that’s okay will you?”
Y/n nods,” I’ll pack.”
———
Stepping onto the curb as a sharp wind bits through the air. Y/n pushes open the door into a dojo. A group of kids are doing routines.
She watches for a moment taking in the warm environment before someone walks behind her.
“Are you picking up or are you just here for the classes?” She turns to see a man in his late thirties. Black hair with sliver streaks, weathered features and bright sky colored eyes.
“Barbara wasn’t wrong, you do look the same.” He rolls his eyes and moves past her.
“Adult classes are Tuesday and Thursday, sign up sheet-“
“I don’t need lessons,” she grabs his arm. “But I do need your help.”
Dick removed his arm and turns to her slowly, almost as if his gaze his scanning her from head to toe.
“So,” he leans in a lowers his voice, “Your the new Rookie.” He smirks which in turns makes Y/n scowl.
“I’ve been at this for three—“
“Try a few decades. Look I know about you you’re not the first detective and probably won’t be the last. But I’m done with capes, cowls and spandex I left that life and I left Gotham.”
He walks past the students with Y/n following him.
“Look I don’t know what your relationship with Bruce was like-“
He scoffs and sits at his desk, “Be thankful for that.”
She narrows her gaze at some photos. Some with other boys younger than him and some of him younger than that.
“I came here for help for Gotham, you know as well as I do that Bruce cared about his mission. I’m not asking you to help me for him, but for the people you care about that are still there. For the memories you still have there the good one and the bad ones.” Dick turns away from her.
“I’m sorry but you need to leave, I can’t help you.” He stands up and opens the door for her. She shakes her head and leaves.
“That was a waste of time, think the others will be much help?” She slides back into the car as it drives down the street.
“I can’t say for sure, but I’ve prepared the jet for you, Master Timothy is in New York and he’s attending a gala.” Y/n sighs in her seat.
For the love of God why are your sons so stubborn Bruce?

GUIDE FOR CONSULTING SERVICES USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Tumblr media
In a recent project using AI for a real estate management and sales company, it became a laboratory for consulting and breaking down resistance to the lack of culture and benchmarks in the local market to compare the use of technology and pricing.
As much as we have technical experience, every day we are surprised by new things and unusual demands, which we have to learn and adapt to because we are consultants and we have to live with all the differences with professionalism.
After this successful experience, I decided to write a guide to help our employees and the market, because what counts at the end of the day are the state of the art, customer satisfaction and problem solving.
I'd like to point out that in the area of AI, as opposed to IT, we can apply 4 solutions, depending on the complexity of the problem: Use of Generative AI with prompts, Use of AI tools customizing the solution for a specific client, Use of NoCode to provide the solution and the development of applications with algorithms and AI technology combined.
The provision of AI consulting services faces significant challenges, but these can be overcome with the right strategies. Promoting an AI culture, adopting an efficient data management strategy, and transparency in the AI market are essential if companies are to make the most of this technology and achieve positive results in their operations.

LACK OF CULTURE
- AI is a Very New Technology: The rapid advancement of AI technology presents a unique challenge for enterprises, especially those new to the field. The novelty of AI means that many companies lack the foundational knowledge and understanding required to leverage its full potential.
- Majority of Enterprises Lack Culture and Knowledge: The absence of a culture that embraces AI within organizations hinders the adoption and effective utilization of AI technologies. This gap in knowledge and culture can lead to missed opportunities for innovation and efficiency gains.
Difference from IT
- Data and Information Needs to be Cleaned: Unlike traditional IT projects, AI projects require meticulous data cleaning and preparation. This process is crucial for training AI models accurately and efficiently, yet it is often underestimated in terms of time and resources.
- Data and Information Needs to be Recognized and Mastered: Beyond cleaning, recognizing and mastering the data and information used in AI projects is essential. This involves understanding the nuances of the data, its structure, and how it relates to the problem at hand, which is a skill set that may not be readily available within all organizations.
- AI will Use Data and Information to Create Solutions: The ultimate goal of AI projects is to use data and information to create intelligent solutions. However, achieving this requires a deep understanding of both the data and the AI technologies themselves, which can be a significant hurdle for organizations without the necessary expertise.
Lack of Market References
- No Standard Pricing for AI-based Solutions: The lack of established market references for pricing AI-based solutions complicates the procurement process for enterprises. Without clear benchmarks, it becomes challenging for companies to determine the fair value of AI services, leading to uncertainty and potential overpricing.
ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGES
Lack of Culture
- Educate Enterprises on Benefits of AI: Raising awareness and understanding of AI's benefits is crucial. This can be achieved through educational workshops, seminars, and training programs tailored to different levels of the organization.
- Provide Proof-of-Concept Projects to Demonstrate AI Capabilities: Demonstrating the tangible benefits of AI through proof-of-concept projects can help overcome resistance and foster a culture of innovation.
- Develop AI Adoption Roadmaps for Enterprises: Creating a structured plan for AI adoption can guide organizations through the process, ensuring they have a clear path to integrating AI into their operations.
Difference from IT
- Emphasize Importance of Data Preparation and Curation: Highlighting the importance of data preparation in AI projects can help organizations allocate the necessary resources and attention to this critical step.
- Highlight Need for Domain Expertise in AI Model Development: Recognizing the need for domain-specific expertise in AI model development can guide organizations in seeking out the right skills and partnerships.
- Offer Data Engineering Services to Support AI Implementation: Providing data engineering services can support organizations in preparing their data for AI, bridging the gap between data readiness and AI deployment.
Lack of Market References
- Research Competitor Pricing and Offerings: Conducting thorough research on competitor pricing and offerings can provide a basis for developing transparent and fair pricing models for AI services.
- Develop Transparent Pricing Models based on Project Scope: Creating pricing models that reflect the scope and complexity of AI projects can help ensure that enterprises receive value for money.
- Provide Detailed Proposals Outlining Solution Value and Pricing: Offering detailed proposals that clearly outline the value and pricing of AI solutions can enhance transparency and trust between service providers and their clients.
PRICING CONSIDERATIONS
- Cost of Data Preparation and Curation: The cost associated with preparing and curating data for AI projects should be considered in the overall pricing structure.
- Complexity of AI Model Development: The complexity of developing AI models, including the need for specialized expertise, should influence pricing.
- Ongoing Maintenance and Support Requirements: The ongoing maintenance and support required to keep AI models effective and up-to-date should be factored into pricing.
- Potential Business Impact and ROI for Enterprises: The potential return on investment (ROI) that AI solutions can offer should be considered in pricing, reflecting the value that AI can bring to businesses.
- Benchmarking Against Industry Standards and Competitors: Pricing should be benchmarked against industry standards and competitors to ensure fairness and competitiveness.
DELIVERING VALUE WITH AI CONSULTING
- Understand Enterprise Pain Points and Objectives: Gaining a deep understanding of the enterprise's pain points and objectives is crucial for tailoring AI solutions effectively.
- Tailor AI Solutions to Specific Business Needs: Customizing AI solutions to meet the specific needs of the business ensures that the solutions are relevant and impactful.

Hi, What's your opinion the Lives of Others movie from 2006 and it's presentation of Stasi modus operandi? You're very intelligent in drawing parallels between SxF and it's real life counterparts.
Also may I ask what your music tastes are? thanks.
I'm flattered you have enough confidence in me to think I can answer this question in an intelligent way, but it's been a long time since I've seen The Lives of Others, though I remember liking it when I saw it years ago. However, the Stasi's reputation definitely proceeds them; even if one is sympathetic to the Warsaw Pact, they were the vanguards of a brutal regime. The same thing is true of the SS that the State Security Service also pulls its name from, but I don't think one has to point the obvious when discussing Nazi Germany. East Germany/the GDR is generally less known here in the West in pop culture. Certainly at least, the mention of people fleeing its borders brings to mind the Berlin Wall, even if we haven't seen an equivalent. That said, given that Endo is sometimes frustratingly obtuse on elements of Spy x Family's world (which is fair, since world building doesn't really seem to be something he's super interested in unless it serves a narrative purpose) there are some things we can at least tease out with those two examples about what the Ostanian state is like. Communism, at least as a widespread ideology, doesn't seem to really exist in the SxF universe - or at least their world seems to be having its version of the Cold War from the freer West versus an authoritarian East. Granted, the Red Circus in the Japanese text is described as a far left organization, but we're given no indication it receives foreign backing from a USSR expy. The curious snag is that they use the word 'cosmonaut' to describe their astronauts as well, but perhaps the Russian Empire persists in some form, bankrolling other reactionary regimes that it borders.
Regardless, we're given a very narrow view of what Ostania is like for citizens of the middle and upper classes - and it generally seems to be okay. However, we know for certain that this isn't really the true state of affairs given the disappearances of people like Frank the former newspaperman, Biddy's death, how it closely monitors its citizens personal lives by viewing people who're not even married as suspicious, etc. The SSS, even if it bears a superficial resemblance to the organizations it's named after, is clearly intended to be a frightening thing. Billy is very obviously killed after he's arrested in the most recent bus hijacking arc and we know for certain things like wiretapping are commonplace. It is a totalitarian regime where minute actions are scrutinized to the nth degree for supposed subversiveness and no amount of bread or circuses makes up for that. This is a point I think is further supported by a mention of a shadow government doing... something in the cruise arc; whatever they've got going on, it isn't good, and the civilian government led by a bunch of doves seems like an obvious front while the Ostanian political cadres plan what to do next. Sooner or later, they're going to have to fall on the proverbial sword, and the National Unity Party will swoop back in to power. Instead, it seems obvious to me that Ostania is fascist or at least some flavor of far-right. Private enterprise persists, though I would imagine the state intervenes or directs them to do things it sees fit to (real life Imperial Japan comes to mind, especially given Endo's background; while a lot of zaibatsu were disbanded following WWII, others like Mitsubishi weren't) but this was also present in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Something tells me that Desmond never divested his business dealings when he was prime minister. Further, we can see this exemplified in how Damian boasts about how great his family is, placing an emphasis on heritage and wealth which we can only assume was a foundational belief passed onto him by Donovan at the very least. Melinda is a tougher nut to crack in this regard right now. We've no evidence that a monarchical dynasty currently reigns in either Westalis or Ostania but I think we can infer at least at one point one did, if for no other reason than our Germany parallel from our world; still, it seems that nobility is at least recognized or has a lingering influence on the country's politics even if it's ostensibly a republic now. One of the things I'm personally most curious about is how much the regime, either now or in the past, scapegoated its minorities. Difficult to say if they had some form of Holocaust/Shoah and/or Generalplan Ost, but one thing that might be a snag regarding my cosmonaut theory above is the belief that Slavic peoples were inferior to their Germanic counterparts during the 19th century's formative years with racialist theories. An interesting thing to note is that the Briar family seems to be coded as perhaps coming from this background. Mom Briar's clothing bears some resemblance to traditional Russian dress, Yuri is a Slavic transliteration of the name George, and Yor's name was initially meant to be Yolanda which, while not Slavic in origin, had been used by some queens in eastern Europe historically. Yuri working for the SSS isn't necessarily a deal breaker either since, if there is such an emphasis on one's parentage, perhaps he and Yor have enough 'proper' blood in them that this is seen as acceptable. Even the Nazis' bat shit theories had dispensations for certain percentages of Jewish ancestry (no, really). However, that's my own editorializing on this aspect of the lore, which doesn't have a whole lot of clarity surrounding it. Anyway: my musical tastes are old. I'm a Boomer, if not a Silent Generation type; '30s-'60s stuff is my jam and if I do dip my toes into more modern music, it's usually in the form of mashups (a medium I love and think is very great).

Is Geofencing Competitors’ Locations Effective?
Tumblr media
Modern businesses harness the power of geofencing to advertise their local brands to people with strong buying intent. The specialty of this marketing approach is you can target prospects within a predefined geographic location near your business area. For example, if you own a café in a commercial zone. You can target nearby office buildings, shopping complexes, bus/train stations, etc. to find desired customers.
Besides, some enterprises even choose competitors’ locations for geofencing advertising. They believe it's the most convenient technique to lure away competitors' customers and grow sales. However, some people are yet to discover the effectiveness of geofencing competitors' locations. Are you one among them? If so, reading this blog, you will have a great takeaway.
A Brief Introduction to Competitor Geofencing
Suppose you are driving to a nearby restaurant for lunch. Suddenly a message from another restaurant pops up on your mobile device saying, "Get 20% off on today's menu. Avail the offer now.” Won't you love dining at this restaurant? Such ads presenting attractive offers often excite potential customers to visit the business. This marketing method to attract competitors’ customers with promotional ads is competitor geofencing or geo-conquesting. The process involves creating geofences around competitor stores, collecting and assessing customer data, and creating and distributing personalized ads.
However, you should know your target audiences and identify competitor locations to set up a successful competitor geofencing ad campaign.
Want to launch a competitor geofencing ad campaign? You can look for a trusted geofencing marketing partner to know the appropriate practices for this.
Benefits of Geofencing Competitors’ Locations
Now that you have a basic idea about geofencing competitors’ locations, it’s time to know its compelling benefits.
Competitor geofencing helps a business create a competitive edge in the market. It is possible in multiple ways.
· Since you are targeting a competitor store, you can obviously get in touch with people interested in your products or services. It helps businesses reach more relevant audiences and build a loyal customer base.
· Instead of luring away prospects stepping into a competitor store, you can also attract people who have recently visited the location. For example, if you own a retail store, you can target audiences who have entered your competitor's outlet in the past week. In this way, you can engage more customers and increase in-store traffic.
· Besides, when you geofence competitor locations, you can target prospects near that selected location. Indirectly, you can attract these audiences with timely offers and encourage them to visit your store at least once.
Are you excited to know more? You can visit this link for better knowledge.
Takeaway
Geofencing competitors’ locations is a marketing technique to strengthen customer engagement and boost marketing revenues. Big brands like Burger King use this geofencing idea to grow their sales target. What about you?
If you want to set up this location-targeting ad campaign around your competitors, you can find companies like Get Geofencing to assist you. You can talk to the experts to strategize your ad campaign according to your business requirements.

Fandom 1: Star Trek Voyager (I'm watching the show for the first time and curious what vibe I put off haha)
Gender: I'm female. I am open to ship with any gender.
Me: I'm autistic/ADHD and a very big fan of to do lists and scheduling my day (which I sometimes need to do or I forget what I have to do). I've been told I am very generous, sweet and good-hearted. I tend to put everyone before myself, which means sometimes I forget to eat, don't sleep, or skip things I like to do in order to do what others prefer. I'm terrible with talking about emotions so my love language tends to be gifts and acts of service but I often need people to tell me I'm important to them. Unfortunately, I will let people take advantage of me if it keeps the peace.
I'm not assertive, I feel things extremely deeply, (also you can read my emotions on my face...I can't hide them for anything!), and I have a deep-seated fear of never being good enough for anyone.
I love playing World of Warcraft, watching TV and movies (several genres...crime, action, sci-fi, adventure, fantasy), and writing stories. I love to read, sunrises and sunsets, the ocean, weather, volcanoes, the Navy (I have a thing for ships), and history. (If I was on a holodeck I would be all over history...the 20s, the 80s, the 40s, the moon landing...)
My partner has to be patient and have a sense of humor. They have to understand that some days I can't take direct talk, and some days that's all I can do. They have to be willing to give me my space but at least check in with me to make sure I'm taking care of myself. A little tough love now and then is good. Finally, they have to be understanding about my hyperfixations. I am going to get crazy about things and they are going to affect me emotionally. I have no control over this.
Thanks. ❤️
Tumblr media
I'm gonna go ahead and answer both ships in one ask! I hope you don't mind :)
I hope you are enjoying Voyager it's a great show!
Fandom: Voyager
I ship you with Chakotay
Chakotay is very caring and genuine and would be able to see you for who you really are a lot easier and faster than some. He is not judgmental or harsh in any way, and he is very patient.
Chakotay never shy's away from telling you how he feels about you, and he will definitely come with the tough love if needed. He knows your love languages well, so he can easily tell just ho much you love him. He will watch out for you and make sure you are eating properly, and drinking water. He will chastise you (lovingly) when he finds out you forgot to eat.
He is also protective and if he ever finds out someone is using you, he will protect you.
He's into history as well, so he would be down for going on history related holo-dates.
Tumblr media
Runner Up Ship: Harry Kim

Fandom: Enterprise
I ship you with Malcolm!
At first my immediate thought was to ship you with Trip. Bu then I realized, that you and Malcolm would probably have a great relationship. BUT it would start out as a sort of love/hate, enemies to frenemies to lovers thing.
You two would misunderstand each other at first. He thought you were an over achiever and were trying to get to something selfishly (but in reality you just worked really hard). You thought he was rude, and didn't get why he seemed to dislike you for no reason.
You would avoid each other as much as you could. But things happen and you get forced together, and Malcolm starts to realize he misunderstood you, and that you were a lot more like him than he had realized.
After that he started to actually pay attention to you, and found himself falling for you. He started to be nicer, and seemed to seek you out. Eventually he apologized and told you that he had misunderstood you. You forgave him and then you two became good friends, which eventually turned into a very loving relationship.
He is not the best with his words either, but you two grew to understand each other so well, that you knew in your actions how much you loved each other.
Malcolm might make fun of you for your hyper-fixations (always in a loving, teasing way), but he supports them, and will discuss the with you as well. He loved listening to you talk about things you enjoy, even if he might not understand them himself.
