Day 9: Christmas Shopping
MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!!!
All around you were Christmas lights. The whole mall had been turned into a winter wonderland.
You barely had time to look around with someone pulling on your arms.
Emily was on your right side, trying to get you in a expensive looking store while Jess wanted to pull you into Victoria’s secrets.
Annoyed, Emily groaned “Jess, you have enough lingerie.” “But I want something special for Christmas!” “You are gonna end up naked anyway!” “And why is that? You are the one who wants me that way.”
Having enough with their bickering, you step in “You two realize that everyone is staring at you and that they can hear you.”
Both girls got quiet, glancing around the room and finding more men staring at them than they would like.
“How about we first look at what we wear on top and then what goes underneath?”
With a pout, Jess agrees, getting pulled along into the store.
Emily already knew where she was heading, holding different clothes in front of you two to see what would fit.
Like the dutiful girlfriend you are, you carry the clothes Emily handed you.
You smiled as you watched the two of them. Even if they argued, a lot, it was still fun to watch them. Currently Jess argued that the shirt Emily picked out wouldn’t show off enough of her goods to which Em only said “Why would you need to show them off, we already know you are hot!”
After spending way too much money on clothes, Jess finally dragged you to the underwear store, laughing happily.
Her first stop was thongs, hoping to finally get Emily to wear them. “They are super uncomfortable!” “You just wear them wrong!” “How can you wear them wrong!”
Holding back your laughter, you continued to watch them, knowing they weren’t fighting for real, just riling each other up for later.
Emily loved when Jess would be bratty and Jess loved when Em got all bossy.
And you? You were happy that most of the time their contests involved you. To see who can make you cum sooner.
“What do you think?” Jess snapped you out of your thoughts, holding a very revealing Christmas lingerie set.
Looking at the price you gasp. “How is it possible that the most expensive stuff has the least cloth.” Shrugging her shoulders, she once again gestured to the set.
“So? Yes or no?”
You didn’t even get a chance to reply before Emily chimed in.
“Babe, you know you don’t have to wear the sluttiest things, how about something like this?” The squeal Jess let out made you smile.
Nearly throwing the set she had away, she happily grabbed what Em found.
Still sexy and revealing but more in a teasing way than a showing everything way.
“I knew it was good to have you here.” Jess giggled to which Emily rolled her eyes.
Suddenly, Emily turned to you, pointing at you with a devilish smirk on her lips.
“Now it’s your turn, I already know how I want to look under the Christmas tree.”
Dragging you along, you were surprised to get pushed into the changing room. Jess joined you, already giggling in excitement to Em’s plan.

Mike munroe x male reader
Summary: Trapped in the freezing sanatorium, Mike notices your body trembling from the cold and takes matters into his own hands-literally. His touch starts out innocent, a way to warm you up, but soon it turns into something far more heated.
Tags: Male reader. He/him pronouns are used towards the reader. Wolfie being a good boy. Mike and Jess are not together in this. Friends to lovers. Smut. Gay smut. Top Mike munroe. Bottom male reader. Anal sex.
Note: I played the original game years ago, and now that I'm playing the remake, my crush on Mike has come back. He's such a good character with amazing development. I never expected to like him this much. I'm near chapter 7 of the remake, and I'm honestly loving it.
Can also be found on wattpad and ao3

The cold of the sanatorium was oppressive. It seemed to leech the warmth from the very walls, seeping into your skin and bones, making every breath feel like you were inhaling shards of ice. As you and Mike rummaged through the mess of papers and debris in the dim, decaying room, the chill became impossible to ignore.
You had been at this for what felt like hours. Searching for anything, any clue, any scrap of information that could help you make sense of the nightmare you and your friends had stumbled into.
You wanted to focus. You needed to. But the cold was starting to weaken you. Your muscles ached from the effort of trying to stay warm, and despite your best attempts to keep it together, your hands were trembling as you shuffled through the scattered papers. The torn, thin jacket you'd found earlier did little to protect you, barely covering your torso, let alone insulating you from the freezing air.
Snowflakes continued to drift in from the broken windows, scattering across the dusty floor.
The place felt like a tomb. The smell of decay hung in the air, making every breath feel heavy, cold, and full of death.
Mike tried to stay focused, but even as his eyes scanned the scattered papers on the floor, his attention was pulled to you. You were over by the corner of the room, crouched low beside an old table, sifting through stacks of yellowed documents, your movements deliberate but slow. The jacket clung to you awkwardly, barely covering your arms and torso.
Even from across the room, he could hear your teeth chattering slightly, despite how hard you were trying to suppress it.
You always did that, pushing yourself even when it was clear you were struggling. Mike admired that about you, but it was also something that worried him. He knew you were trying to stay strong for him and the rest of the group, but the last thing Mike wanted was for you to get hurt or worse.
His thoughts raced, that protective instinct flaring up again. You didn't deserve this. You deserved to be somewhere warm, safe... with him.
He had been feeling that way for months now, ever since that night after he broke up with Emily. That night had changed everything for him. You were the one who stayed with him, sitting by his side, listening to him vent as he struggled to process the end of his long-term relationship.
You didn't just offer hollow platitudes; you gave him the kind of comfort and understanding he never knew he needed. He realized then, somewhere between the midnight conversation and the quiet moments of silence, that you were different. You weren't just his friend; you were the one person who made him feel like himself again.
After that night, he found himself constantly thinking about you. How easy it was to talk to you, how you made him laugh even when he felt like shit.
He'd find excuses to see you, call you up for help with college work, or invite you out for something casual. He always assumed you'd catch on quickly to his flirting, but you never did. Either he was terrible at flirting with a guy like you, or you were just completely oblivious.
Without a word, he began to unbutton his own jacket, which was far thicker and more insulated than the pathetic excuse you were wearing.
He held it out toward you.
"Here," he said simply. "Take it"
You shook your head immediately. "No. I'll be fine. You need it more than I do."
Mike narrowed his eyes, clearly not buying it. "You're freezing, man. You look like you're about to turn into an ice cube."
You tried to laugh it off, though it came out weak and unconvincing. "It's really not that bad. I can handle the cold. And it'd be selfish of me to take your jacket. There’s no way you're any warmer than I am."
With the simple tank top he was wearing underneath, now all dirty with mud and snow, it became even harder for you to stop staring at him. His muscular and strong arms drew your attention.
Mike sighed, holding the jacket out stubbornly towards you. "You're not fine. You're shaking like a leaf." He reached out, gently brushing his fingers over your arm, feeling the coldness of your skin even through the thin fabric of your jacket. "Just take it."
But you shook your head again, more firmly this time. "It wouldn't be fair," you murmured, looking down at the papers you were holding. "You need it just as much as I do. I can handle the cold. We've been through worse than this, right?"
Why couldn't you just let him take care of you for once?
"Come on," he tried again, his voice soft but insistent. "After everything we've been through tonight, hypothermia is the least of my worries. I'm not letting you freeze out here, not when I can do something about it."
You glanced up at him, your eyes softening for a moment, and for a second, Mike thought you might actually take the jacket. But then you shook your head again.
"I'll be fine, Mike."
Mike sighed heavily, his breath visible in the cold air as he ran a hand through his hair. "Damn it, you're stubborn.”
You gave him a small smile, trying to divert the conversation as you continued sorting through the papers. "I've been called worse."
Finally, with a deep sigh, Mike relented, shoving his jacket back on with a grumble.
Minutes passed in silence, the only sounds being the creak of old floorboards beneath your feet and the occasional rustle of paper. Wolfie, the wolf Mike had somehow managed to befriend, lay beside you, his fur brushing against your leg as he occasionally shifted.
Every so often, you'd reach down to scratch behind Wolfie's ears. His fur was soft under your fingertips.
You gripped the edges of the papers in your hand, hoping that somehow, just focusing on the task in front of you would make it better.
It didn't.
It was then that you noticed Mike shifting beside you and before you could react, his body was pressing up against your back, his arms wrapping around your waist in a firm but gentle hold. His warmth hit you immediately, and you couldn't stop the small gasp that escaped your lips at the sudden contrast.
"Mike?" you muttered, your voice barely above a whisper as you stiffened in surprise at the closeness.
"Relax," he murmured, his breath warm against the side of your neck. "If you won't take my jacket, I'll just have to warm you up myself." he whispered, his voice rough and low.
Your heart started to race, not just from the unexpected contact, but from the undeniable heat that surged through your body as Mike's lips brushed against the side of your neck. The sensation was electrifying, sending a shiver down your spine that had nothing to do with the cold this time.
His lips moved slowly, deliberately, trailing soft kisses down the length of your neck, each one sending a wave of heat through your body. Your body was leaning into his touch, craving more of the warmth and comfort he was offering.
This wasn't the Mike you were used to. This was something far more intimate, more personal.
"Mike... I don't..." you began, but your words trailed off as his lips found a particularly sensitive spot just below your ear, making your breath hitch in your throat.
"You don't what?" he asked softly, his hand sliding up from your waist to rest on your chest, pulling you even closer against him. "You don't want this?"
Of course you wanted it. More than anything, really. You'd been harboring feelings for Mike for so long, feelings you'd kept hidden, thinking there was no way he'd ever see you as anything more than a friend, a study partner, a background presence in his life.
But now, with his body pressed against yours and his lips trailing fire down your neck, it was clear that Mike had been seeing you in a very different light for a while.
"I didn't think..." you started, your voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't think you felt like this about me."
He hadn't planned on this happening, not exactly. But as he held you in his arms, feeling the heat of your body against his, he couldn't deny how good it felt, how right it felt to be this close to you. For years, he had pushed his feelings for you to the back of his mind, thinking it wasn't something you'd ever want. You were smart, focused, always so kind.
He pressed closer, his lips trailing lower along your collarbone, his fingers gently digging into your waist. The torn jacket you were wearing slid down slightly, giving him better access to your skin, and he took full advantage of it, kissing his way down your neck with slow, deliberate movements.
Mike's lips paused against your skin, and he pulled back, his expression soft but intense. "You really didn't notice, did you?" He chuckled softly, shaking his head. "I've been trying to get you to see it for months. I thought you'd pick up on it, but... guess I'm not as smooth as I thought."
You blinked at him, your mind reeling. "You've... been trying to tell me?"
"Yeah," he admitted, his thumb brushing gently against your cheek. "I've been dropping hints since we stayed up all night after Emily and I broke up. You were there for me, man. And ever since then I just... I couldn't stop thinking about you."
"I didn't think you'd ever feel like that about me," you confessed, your voice shaky with disbelief.
Mike smiled softly, his thumb brushing over your cheek as he pulled you a little closer. "I noticed the way you looked at me," he said quietly, his breath warm against your skin. "All those times you'd stare at me, thinking I didn't see. You were so fucking adorable, but it drove me crazy."
You blinked up at him, clearly shocked by the confession. Mike chuckled softly, his lips brushing over your jawline, his fingers tracing lazy circles on your waist. "You're not that good at hiding it, you know."
Before you could respond, Mike kissed you. His lips hungry, filled with all the emotions he hadn't been able to express before. His hands gripped your waist, pulling you closer.
You responded almost immediately, your lips parting under his, your fingers curling into the fabric of his shirt as you pulled him closer.
Mike deepened the kiss, his hands slipping beneath your jacket, his fingers tracing the outline of your hips, your waist, your chest. His tongue dipped past your lips.
After a long moment, Mike pulled back just enough to whisper, his voice low and rough, "You're okay with this, right?"
You didn't even hesitate this time. You nodded, breathless.
Mike's grin widened, and without another word, he kissed you again, even more deeply this time. His hands moved up your sides, tugging at the edges of your jacket as he pressed you against the wall.
You pulled him closer, your hands tangling in his hair as the heat between you both grew.
Mike's lips left yours, trailing down your jaw and back to your neck, his hands roaming your body as if he couldn't get enough of you. Your breath coming in shallow gasps as he kissed his way down to your collarbone, his grip on your waist tightening.
You wanted more, needed more, and judging by the way Mike was holding you with his erection pressing insistently against you, he felt the same.
He pulled back slightly, a grin tugging at the corners of his lips as he glanced over at Wolfie, who had been lying quietly in the corner of the room.
He bent down, ruffling the fur of the wolf who had been sitting quietly in the corner of the room. "Go on, buddy," Mike whispered. "Follow me for a second."
The wolf trotted after Mike as he stepped out of the room, leaving you alone for a few moments, heart still racing. You could hear him talking softly to Wolfie just outside the door, something about how you were "the guy" he'd told the wolf about before.
When Mike came back into the room, locking the door behind him, the intensity in his eyes made your pulse quicken even more.
Without wasting another second, Mike crossed the room in a few quick strides and grabbed you by the waist, pulling you into a deep, hungry kiss. His lips were insistent, full of desire, and you couldn't help but melt into him, wrapping your arms around his neck as you kissed him back with just as much need.
Mike's hands roamed over your body, gripping your hips, pulling you closer. His tongue teased at your lips before slipping into your mouth, deepening the kiss.
He broke the kiss just long enough to mutter, "God, I've wanted you for so long."
Then, his lips were on yours again. His hands gripping you even tighter, pressing you against the nearest wall as his mouth trailed down your neck, nipping and biting at the sensitive skin there.
His hands were on you, pulling at your clothes, lowering them to expose just what was needed with an almost frantic urgency, before he gripped your ass, his fingers digging into the soft skin with a possessive intensity as he lifted you slightly, pressing his body against your.
"Relax," Mike whispered, his voice low and commanding as his fingers trailed down, teasingly brushing against your entrance. "Let me take care of you."
He teased you for a moment, his fingers gently exploring before he slowly pushed one inside, his eyes never leaving yours.
"You're so fucking tight," he groaned, his voice low and gravelly.
He moved his finger slowly at first, watching your face for every reaction, but as you relaxed into his touch, he added another finger, stretching you carefully.
Mike's other hand reached up to cup your face, his thumb brushing gently over your cheek as he leaned in to kiss you again, this time slower, more tender.
By the time Mike pulled his fingers out of you, you were trembling with anticipation, your body aching for him.
You heard the rustle of fabric as he undid his pants, and then you felt the tip of his hard cock rubbing against your thigh.
"Ready for me?" he asked, his voice low and rough.
You could barely nod, your entire body trembling with need. Mike lined himself up, his hands gripping your hips firmly, and then, with one slow, steady thrust, he pushed inside.
The sensation was overwhelming, a mix of pleasure and pain as he stretched you, filled you completely. He moved slowly at first, watching your face for any sign of discomfort, but all you could do was moan softly, your hands clutching at his shoulders.
"You're perfect," Mike groaned as he began to move, his hips moving with slow, deliberate motions. "You feel so fucking good."
Mike's hands were everywhere, gripping your hips, sliding up your chest, cupping your face as he kissed you hungrily. His cock filled you completely, each slow thrust sending waves of pleasure through your body.
His hands moved lower, his fingers finding their way between your legs as he stroked you in time with his thrusts.
The more his pace picked up, the more his movements became rougher, more desperate. He kissed you again, biting at your lips, your neck, his hands gripping your ass tightly as he pulled you closer with each thrust.
"Fuck," Mike groaned, his voice low and husky. His soft grunts filling the cold room as he moved inside you.
The pleasure built to an unbearable peak as his thrusts became faster, harder. You could feel the heat spreading through your body, your muscles tensing as you teetered on the edge.
And then, with one final, deep thrust, Mike groaned loudly, his hands gripping you tightly as he came, his cock pulsing inside you. The sensation sent you over the edge as well, and you cried out as your own orgasm ripped through you, your voice muffled against his neck.
After a few moments of catching your breath and letting the weight of everything settle in, Mike pressed another soft kiss to your forehead before pulling away slightly, his hands lingering on your hips. You could see the satisfied smile tugging at his lips, that playful, cocky expression you had grown so used to over the years. He gave you a wink before straightening up, pulling his pants back up and adjusting himself as if nothing had happened.
You followed suit, your body still buzzing with the aftermath. There was something so surreal about it all. Being here, with Mike Munroe, of all people. You had known him for years, but you had never imagined things would end up like this.
Once you were both dressed and more or less presentable, Mike walked over to the door, unlocking it with a soft click.
"Ready to face Wolfie again? He might be a little upset that we kicked him out." He glanced back at you, a mischievous smile playing on his lips, before swinging the door open.
Outside, Wolfie was sprawled out across the floor, his furry body taking up most of the tight hallway. The wolf's ears twitched at the sound of the door opening, and he turned his head to glance at the two of you. His golden eyes scanned you two and then, with what could only be described as a huff, he plopped his head back down onto the floor, letting out a long sigh as if he had been deeply offended by the delay.
"Is he pouting?" you asked, incredulous.
Mike smirked, clearly amused by the wolf's behavior. "What? You jealous, buddy?" he teased as he crouched down beside Wolfie. The wolf, still looking somewhat begrudging, turned his head away, as if refusing to acknowledge Mike.
Mike reached out, scratching Wolfie behind the ears, his voice dropping into a low, playful tone. "Come on, don't be mad. I was just doing my part to keep him warm. You know how cold it is here."
You watched as Wolfie's resolve began to crumble under Mike's touch, his tail thumping softly against the floor as Mike scratched behind his ears. Mike chuckled, his cocky grin growing wider. "See? I warmed him up real good. All thanks to me."
Wolfie responded with a soft growl. He finally turned his head back toward Mike and he ruffled his fur, looking pleased with himself.
"Yeah, yeah," you said, rolling your eyes but unable to stop the smile from spreading across your face.
Mike stood up, shooting you a wink as he slung his arm around your shoulder. "Damn right, I did." He leaned in to press a soft, quick kiss to your lips.
Together, you and Mike walked down the hallway, Wolfie trotting along beside you. And as Mike gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze, you couldn't help but feel grateful that, through all the chaos and terror of the night, you had found someone worth fighting for.

The bus ride down was long, and it only got worse as 1-year-old Caroline woke up from her nap and decided to let everyone know of the inconvenience. Finally after the long months of working and saving up she had enough to move to Stars Hollow, unlike Jess who had a parent to send them and an uncle to stay with, she saved up and made it happen. She wanted Caroline to be around her father, and she wanted to be close to Jess.
And Y/n’s always loved the idea of a small town, a place where you felt safe, a place she would feel safe raising her child in, a place that wasn’t $2,500 a month for a closet. Here she could give her daughter a lot more, here she would have a support system in Jess and Luke. Unlike what her parents would give her.
By this point in the bus route it was only the mother and daughter and a couple strays, she saw the messy haired boy sitting on a park bench close to the bus stop, of course he had his nose in a book. She started packing up Caroline’s stuff, tucking her blanket and toys in the basket of the stroller.
When she got to the bus doors, Jess quickly made his way to help her lift the stroller down the steps, when the stroller was once again on the ground Jess squats down getting face to face with his little girl, “Hey, Care!” “Daddy!” He lifted her up by her armpits. When the little girl was out of her seat and in her dad’s arms, her mom stacked their bags on the seat.
“Hi! You’re so big! Really she is. She’s growing up so fast.” “Well she can walk way more stable now. No more scaring, mommy that you’ll fall if I look away for a second.” She says the last sentence in baby voice while she tickles the girl’s belly to make her giggle and their foreheads to rest on each other’s.
“So you gonna show us around?!” “‘Around’?” They continued their walk around the gazebo area, walking towards Luke’s.
“This is it, that's the record shop, that’s the bookstore, that's Luke’s, and that’s all you need to know.” “Well where’s the bank, I might need to rob it later.” “You’ll find a job. And if you don’t then work at Luke’s, he could do with the time off then maybe he’d get off everyone’s backs.” “He’s probably stressed with you always causing trouble.” “Me? Trouble? Nooo, I’m a peach.”
-
Jess had the baby today since Y/n was off to find a job, her first stop was the most promising. Luke let her know that a friend of his needed extra staff at their Inn for an event that was coming up, someone who could be an assistant of sorts. So after wearing her most capable looking top, and best fitting jeans. She kissed Caroline’s check and yelled goodbye to Luke and Jess as she began her walk.
When she walked inside she saw a man at the front desk on the phone. Waiting to ask for directions, she hung around the man’s desk, busying herself with some pamphlet. She couldn't help but listen to the man’s angry English in his french accent.
Suddenly he hung up the phone and got back to writing whatever he was writing, without looking up and with an annoyed tone said, “Yes?” “I was looking for Lorelei, I’m here for-” “The assistant job, yes.. Follow me.” He walked quickly to wherever it was they were going, mumbling along the way, “Of course, an assistant. Just what we need around here. Not like I don’t already do most of the work around here.”
He opened the door for them, it ended up being the kitchen they were now in. A tall woman holding a to-go coffee cup that said ‘Luke’s’ on it and a shorter woman in an apron fighting with a scruffy man about vegetables, which look to be parsnips.
“The mini-you is here.” “One little comment, Micheal. I’m not saying you’re incapable. I just want more help with organising events so I focus on planning!” “Whatever.” Turning on his heels, Micheal walked out the doors making his way back to his desk.
“So you’ve met Micheal! Sorry, we usually don’t let him around the new people but we're a little short-staffed. Let’s head to the dining room.”
They sat down at a table in the dining room, Lorelei asked all the important questions, and Y/n was perfect, now she was just asking the things she’ll tell Sookie later when the woman asks about the new hire.
Taking a sip of her sixth coffee this morning Lorelei asked, “So, are you new to town? I haven’t seen you around before.” The girl was stirring milk into her second coffee as she responded, “Yeah, I am. I just moved here with my um- my daughter, closer to her dad so…”
Since it was of course the time most adults got horrified, thought she was a bad kid, and though she didn’t get that vibe from Lorelei, it was at least bound to shock her. “You’re daughter? How old are you? Wait- I know, it’s on your resume. I mean- I’m, deja vu y’know? Abba did say ‘the history books on the shelf are always repeating themselves’.”
She must have seen the confused look on the young girl and explained, “I had my daughter when I was sixteen.. And came here to get a job, so just getting major deja vu. Well then, since I know what you’re going through, I won’t put you through the short mental torture of waiting for a call I was gonna do and just tell you you got the job.” “Oh, thank you! I really need this, I can’t thank you enough.” “Just change her name to Lorelei and we’ll call it even.” “deal.” Those two would get along great, much to Luke’s misfortune.
-
Y/n sat at the counter with Caroline in front of her sitting on the counter while she played with her mother’s hair. Jess was filling up cups of coffee and serving customers while he listened to Y/n’s words.
“So until you go back to school, you’ll have Caroline during the day here and when I’m done work I’ll take her.” “No, you’ll never have a break. After work you go to your house, relax then grab her after dinner.”
Jess may have this ‘I only care about myself’ attitude but that never included Caroline and Y/n, he’d kill for either of them at any given moment. He always put them first. If thought Y/n needed a break, she was getting a break whether she wanted it or not.
Just as the girl was going to thank him she was interrupted by another girl around their age coming to sit down at the counter, two over from her.
“I have the book you lent me.” She said, unknowingly interrupting the conversation since Jess was facing the coffee machine to make a new batch when she sat down. “Oh, thanks.” He muttered, notably not turning to face her.
On the inside Jess felt guilty. Why did he feel guilty? He didn’t do anything, he and Y/n weren’t together, nevermind the fact that all he did was lend Rory a book. As friends. Because they’re friends. But nonetheless it almost felt like cheating. Jess and Y/n may not be together officially but that didn’t mean that they both didn’t love each other. And not just because they were the parents to a beautiful little girl. Jess had always wanted more, he’d let the girl know that more than a handful of times, and she let him know it wasn’t unrequited, yet something always came between them.
You’d think having a baby together would bring them closer, and in some ways it did; they trusted each other more. But they also fought more and being the dumb teenagers they were, they didn’t have the emotional ability to move past that and build the relationship they both wanted. And then when they felt they were ready to, Jess was sent to live with his uncle. Just another fork in the road. But now they were living in the same town and had a good system, and people to support them. It was the perfect time, everything was going right, they could feel all the feelings that never really left resurfacing.
“Okay, I have to get to work. You’ve got her?” “Yeah.” “Bye, baby, I love you. I’ll see you in a little bit, but you get to spend all day with daddy.” “Bye-bye, mommy!”
She said bye to Jess after she walked around the counter and handed him Caroline, muttering a small ‘go see, daddy’ that Rory most definitely heard.
When the door finally chimed shut Rory shot up to follow Jess to the table he was now setting Caroline up at. She watched his gentle movements as he readjusts her shirt and places crayons and paper in front of her, which she got right into scriballing away.
“She’s yours?” “Yeah.” “.. So that girl is your girlfri-" "I’ve got work to do.”
-
The warm atmosphere of the dinner is a stark contrast to the cold winter air. Noticing Jess and Caroline are nowhere to be seen she assumes they were upstairs and makes her way up the stairs. Half-way up the flight of stairs she could hear her little girl’s loud giggles. She quietly opens the door to see Jess holding Caroline above his head, as if she was flying.
When she first got pregnant everyone told her Jess wouldn’t be a good dad, that she can’t rely on him for anything. God were they wrong. She doesn’t think it’s possible for her baby to have a better person as a dad. She sadly doesn’t get to watch the scene for much longer as she’s spotted by little Caroline.
“Mommy! I see daddy ‘morrow?” “Yes, you get to be with daddy all day tomorrow too.” “Yay!”
As the conversation between them goes on, Jess lets his little girl plant her feet back on the ground and starts collecting some things she’ll need during the night before she comes back here tomorrow, he then starts getting Caroline’s shoes on her feet. While Y/n sits on the couch next to their little girl.
“So who was that girl this morning?” “Who?”
Jess always did this, it was a tell tale sign that he didn’t want to talk about it, but that’s never stopped Y/n before. “You know who.” Of course having to be difficult, Jess gives her a fake confused look, as if he’s never met another girl in his life.
“The one returning your book.” “Oh, that girl.” “Yeah, that girl.” “She’s nobody.” “So you just lend books to ‘nobody’s now?” “Care, where’s Mr.Wiggle?” The girl lets out a gasp and reaches out for Jess to help her off the couch, when he does she runs into the closet where she previously hid while playing hide and seek a couple hours earlier.
“What? Don’t want Care to hear about her new step-mom?” “Don’t call her that.” “What? Care? Only you can call her that?” “No, don’t call Rory Care’s ‘step-mom’.” “Rory! I get her name!”
Jess was a quiet guy, but not this quiet, especially not with Y/n. He didn’t want to talk about Rory, maybe because it was weird talking about another girl with your baby momma. And yes it was weird for Y/n too, but for a completely different reason, she assumes. She liked Jess, and has since before she even knew about Caroline.
“C’mon, Jess, it’s me. I want you to be happy.” Sure Rory made him happy, but only because she was the only friend he had here, it wasn’t the way Y/n made him happy. Before he could deny for words again Caroline came back running into the room with her stuffie in her hands. Having already said her goodbyes, she opened the door and walked out.
“Caroline, wait hun! I think you should go for it Jess.”
She walked out the door, closing it behind her, leaving Jess to stare at where she disappeared. He decided to take her advice, just maybe not the way she meant it
-
Y/n helped Caroline pack more snow onto their snowman. Caroline wanted to do it after she heard Luke complaining about town events again, he stopped complaining when he saw how excited the girl was. They had Mr.Wiggles off the side learning against the tree, using him as a reference.
“Mommy, no. Mr.Wiggles has more hair.”
Caroline was getting very comfortable ordering her mother around, but in this instance Y/n let it slide, poking more sticks on the top of the snowman’s head to mimic Mr.Wiggle’s spiky hair.
“That’s good!”
Lorelei and Rory were just one snowman down, both told Caroline they thought she would win and encouraged her before she even started. Since they were so close, they could hear the scene that had just played out.
“Tough age, wait till you get to the terrible twos. ‘No’ is all you’ll hear.” Lorelei said, kindly as her and her own daughter walked past them. Y/n let out a laugh at the comment before she asks, “You guys done already?” “No, but after Michelangelo over there busted out the power buffer, and when Caroline busts out her cuteness, what chance do we have?” “I see your point.” “So off to Luke’s we go.” “We’ll see you there in a bit.”
-
Y/n was standing talking to one of the decorators when she saw Lorelei and Sookie step out of the kitchen, quickly finishing her directions she wrote down a note on her clipboard then made her way to meet them at the entrance of the dining room.
When Sookie sees her, she asks, “What’re we looking at today?” Sookie was really fun to work with, like Lorelei she was very chill as a boss, but Sookie was also so kind and always took it upon herself to make sure Y/n has eaten and that her and Caroline are taken care of. She could tell the woman was going to make an amazing mother.
“This is last on the list.” She replied, after she took a quick glance at her clipboard, then continued, “We’ve got trumpets, the madrigal singers-” “Sorry to interrupt, but I’m not playing squire of Bracebridge.”
Sookie and Lorelei must have finally told Jackson to play the squire, they told her earlier in the week that they were playing to ask at the last moments so he had to. It was a flawless plan, especially when Jackson can’t say no to Sookie.
She saw that Lorelei and Sookie were just ignoring him, so she played along and continued down her list, “All the servers are lined up. This is just for the recorder players and harpists.” She stopped at the recorder players and let Lorelei talk to them, “Hi. Lay some on us, guys.”
The two recorder players played the soft tube they were going to come accustomed to in the next few days. The three of them shared positive looks and when their playing came to an end, Sookie said, “Hey, you cats really know how to blow those things.” Lorelei continued Sookie’s comment by saying, “You’ve got the gig. Y/n here will call you later with the details. Thanks.”
Recorder players started packing their things, Jackson started again on the fact that he wouldn’t play the squire, and the three women continued to ignore him.
“When do the quests arrive?” “Thursday at four on their own jet.” “After buying out the whole inn.”
“Must be nice to have money.” Y/n added, checking off and writing down more notes on her clipboard.
“You know what struck me today?” “-Was it the fact that I am not the squire?-""We’re crazy for doing this.” “We’re beyond crazy.” It did feel crazy, Lorelei told her they’d never done a function this big before and that’s the reason they hired more help. Like her, but also that they were planning to do a lot more big things like this, more weddings, and such.
“We’re ‘Anne Heche speaking her secret language to god and looking for the spaceship in Fresno’ kinda crazy.” “Oquinis no-goodo noto.” Sookie said, causing Y/n add, “Il ecnatra dos guidan.”
Their nonsense was once again interrupted by Jackson, “And spring this on me at the last minute too. I mean, that’s just manipulative.” Suddenly a cook pops his head out of the kitchen, saying calmly, “Sookie- fire!”
Sookie rolled her eyes softly, this happened far too often, before saying, “I gotta get back in the kitchen. You guys handle the harps?” Both women nodded and replied in unison, “You got it.”
“Alright. I’ll do it. I’ll play squire Bracebridge if that’s what you want.” Everyone knew he would cave eventually. Sookie patted his arm and said a quick, “Thanks, sweetie.” before walking back into the kitchen to hopefully deal with the fire. “As long as it’s not just because I fit the costume.” Jackson looked back at Lorelei and Y/n, Lorelei had a grin on her face while Y/n wore a tight-lipped smile. “It’s because I fit the costume, isn’t it?” He followed after Sookie.
Lorelei put her arm around Y/n and led them to the harpist, “Go ahead.” The harpist played the same tune as the two recorder players. But just as the woman started, Lorelei got a call. She patted Y/n’s arm, “I have to take this, you handle the harpist.”
The girl tried to stay calm, nodding her head and going back to listening to the music. Lorelei trusted her, yes it wasn’t a big job by any means, but still it was a step into a bigger role down the line.
-
The next day, Sookie and Y/n had all the waiters/performers in the dining room going over what their job was. And teaching them the old English words to use for things.
Sookie was just telling Rune that he couldn’t just talk like an old man whe Lorelei came in with a disappointed look on her face, and let them know the dinner was off.
The three women, as well as Rory and Caroline were now sitting at a table at Luke’s, Caroline was happily eating her pancakes, plain just as she liked and completely unaware of the collective disappointment of the group.
Lorelei has really welcomed Y/n into her life. She may not be Jess’s biggest fan, but she would always help another teen mom out. Especially since she sees so much of herself in Y/n. She’s grown to really love the girl in the short time they’ve known each other. And aftering hearing Y/n didn’t have her family in her life she was more than happy to help and maybe become that family for her one day. Just like Mia did for her.
“I’ve got 30 pounds of aged beef, trays and trays of trout, mountains of prune tarts. I diced pumpkins until my hands turned orange. I’ve got pumpkin hands!” Sookie showed the table her hands, it apparently caught Caroline’s attention since she grabbed Sookie’s right hand and held it in her left while she continued eating. Sookie lets her hand rest in the little girl’s while she freaks out more and asks Lorelei, “How can you stay so calm?” “There’s nothing we can do about it.”
Rory was just as upset, mostly because she knew how hard her mother worked on the planning, “I can’t believe they got snowed in.” Y/n hasn’t told Jess, but she’s become pretty close to Rory, the girl sometimes comes to the Inn and helps around and Rory’s become kinda her only friend, that was until Rory invited her to the record store with Lane. After that day she had two friends.
After knowing Rory more, she realised how much she and Jess have in common, and even though Rory has a boyfriend she can tell there’s an attraction to Jess she’s trying so hard to hide.
Y/n zoned out for a moment, looking outside, she was upset that the first event she helped organise wouldn’t even happen. She was broken from her stare out the window from Caroline jumping in place while sitting on her mom’s lap, the cause of which was Luke coming to the table.
“You girls want anything besides coffee?” He asked, adding on with a pat on the girl’s head, “Or pancakes?” “Hey, what about Luke?” “What about him?” “He eats, and Jess eats. Doesn’t Jess eat?” Sookie directs the question at Y/n, before the girl could say anything Luke cuts her off, “What’s she doing?” “I think she’s inviting you for dinner.”
Getting distracted while trying to convince Luke to come to dinner, the four decide to still put on the dinner for the town. Like an out of control slumber-party.
-
The dinner was going great, the secret amazing part of inviting the town was that Y/n and Caroline could actually meet everyone. Miss. Patty and Babette loved Y/n and Caroline (mostly Caroline), Caroline loved Kirk, and everyone loved that Caroline could do whatever she wanted and Talor wouldn’t say anything. And Y/n got to meet Paris after all the stories she’s heard.
Caroline and Y/n were in line for the horse drawn carriage rides, when Caroline saw her favourite person, Lane. “Laney! I ride with you!” Lane, before agreeing, made eye contact with Y/n to make sure it was okay. Y/n gave them the go ahead and helped Caroline get settled. After their carriage left she made her way to the next one. Telling the driver it’s just her.
It was nice to get a break from everything. It was quiet and peaceful. Well that was until Jess ran up and hopped on the carriage next to her. Without a word he put the blanket that was over the girl’s legs on his too.
“I thought you and Care were going together.” “She’s one ahead, with Lane.” “Ahhh. Well it’s two to a sleigh no more, no less. So you were breaking the rules, you're welcome for saving you.” “You could have hurt yourself.” “Aw, you care about me.” “You are my baby's father.”
She wished she just agreed with him. She didn’t just care for him because he was Caroline’s dad, and she doesn’t think she says it enough. But then again, maybe it would mess things up if she admitted that. But that decision was made for her.
“I’m touched.” “Jess. I don’t mean it like that. I care about you, Caroline or not.”
Trying to change the topic to something she thought was more lighthearted, she says, “So, how are things with Rory?” “There are no things with Rory.” “C’mon, Jess, we can talk about this stuff-” “Why are you so insistent that I date Rory?”
She wasn’t expecting that outburst. Not from Jess. He rarely ever yelled at her, and when he did it was always misplaced anger, never actually angry at her. This time it was her, it was what she said.
“I just want you to be happy-” “C’mon, Y/n. Be serious.” “I am. I want-” “If you want me to be happy so bad, why won’t you give me a chance?!”
He turned his face to her, looking right into her eyes, she could see the hurt in his. Did she put it there?
“What’re you-” “Since we found out about Caroline, I’ve tried and tried to help you realise that I love you. And not how you mean ‘I love you’. I don’t love and care for you because we have a family and I have to. I love you, because I want to. I want to be with you. And I know it will be hard, but I’ll do the work.”
If she had more social awareness at the pent she would have hated that the coachman heard all of that. But after what Jess said, the look in his eyes; that was so full of love. She felt like it was just them two in the world. No, that it was just their little family in the whole world. He and Caroline were all she would ever need.
“I love you too, Jess. I have for so long, long before Caroline, but I thought you wouldn’t want to be tied down to me, especially after I had Caroline, that any sign I thought you gave me was all in my head.” “It’s not.”
He brought her in closer to him, an arm around her shoulders and when her arms wrapped around his waist he left a kiss on the crown of her head. The small kiss brought her eyes up to him, which led to their first real kiss in one year and nine months.
His lips were softer than she remembered, but they still fit into hers as if they never left.
She broke away from their reuniting kiss to place her head in the crook of his neck, wanting nothing more than to be close to him.
“My mom didn’t want me to come home.” She took her head out of his neck to look at him fully. They were always that person for each other, the one you can tell your problem to and they knew when to help and when listening was enough. Right now, she knew listening was enough.
“I’m sorry, Jess.” “It’s fine. Just sucks.” “I know. Well, Care and I will always want you to come home.” After her words, he brought her closer than before. She was always just what he needed.
Wanting to change the subject, Jess nodded his head to the snowman Y/n and Caroline built. “It’s good.” “What?” “Your snowman, well Caroline’s snowman I'm sure she’d want me to say.” “You know which one’s ours?” “Definitely shows her personality… It kinda looks like Mr.Wiggles.” “That’s what we were going for. But everyone thinks the one on the end is going to win.” “Really? It’s so overdone.” “I agree.” “You and Care’s should win.” “Agree again.”
-
The dinner was filled with Jess and Luke confused at what exactly was in the food, Jess and Y/n trying their best to keep Caroline sat which about half an hour in they gave up and just let her walk around the lobby, as well as saying hello and talking to everyone at the table. Having an interesting conversation with Mrs.Kim about grace, ‘helping’ Kirk by sitting on his rolling food cart, and even talking with Paris for a while.
Overall it was a great night. Even better when Jess, Y/n, and Caroline got to their shared room, putting Caroline asleep together for the first time in a while. And falling to sleep in the same bed together, holding each other, listening to each other’s breaths, as well as Caroline’s. Everything was just how they both always secretly wanted. And now get to have openly and freely.
-
In the morning Y/n got up early since she was technically working, and she still was when Luke, Jess, and Caroline left to open the diner for the day. It was around noon when Y/n finally left, walking to Luke’s to spend the day with her two favourite people. Which was when she saw Michelangelo’s snowman fallen to a large pile of snow on the ground.
She didn’t even have to think for a second to know that Jess did it. Sometimes he did the weirdest things to show his love.
The bell rang as she pushed open the door, she sat down next to Caroline, saying ‘good morning’ and getting one back before she made her way to the counter.
“I saw what you did.” “What’d I do?” “Caroline will be happy she won.” “Anything if my girl’s win.”

“ALL YOU WANTED” EMILY DAVIS X TOUGH! FEM!READER
SUMMARY : You and Emily are best friends…but best friends always means something more these days right?
WARNINGS : lesbian smut
A/N : this takes place when they all go back to the cabin.
It hadn’t even been an hour of all of you coming up to the mountain and you were witnessing Emily Davis and Matthew Taylor break up.
All because she had went to see Michael.
Despite you being Emily’s best friend, you could see where Matt was coming from. Getting caught having a conversation was not a good look.
You were even surprised at Emily being your best friend but the two of you were the meanest people in your own way so it kind of made sense.
You were made her best friend by force though in ninth grade where she forced you to sit with her at lunch because she thought you were pretty. Now you two were besties.
For better or worse? You’d have to find out.
“God, Matt! It didn’t mean anything! Get over it!”
Mike raised his hand as if he was in the classroom. “I can vouch for that. Trust me, I do not want her anymore.”
You were sitting in a chair, eating a cookie, watching the whole scene play out. You knew something was going to happen and you didn’t know if you wanted to stop it or keep it going.
Emily angrily turned to Mike at the statement. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“I think he means he doesn’t want to fuck skank anymore.” Jess replied for Mike.
Not only could you not help but comment because you were Emily’s best friend but because you always had to make your own remark of common sense. You finished your cookie and dusted your hand off. “If that’s the case then why is he fucking you?”
Emily had laughed at what you said and bit her lip to hold back her smile. Matt shook his head, rubbing his temples in irritation while Mike just did a whistle and looked away from the situation.
“I’m sorry? Did I ask you to bud in Ms. School Drop out?” Jess asked you while standing up from the couch where she was sitting next to Mike with.
“No but something told me that you needed a reality check and well, here I am to give it to you.” You told her, brushing off her calling you a drop out with ease.
“Don’t you find it a tad bit pathetic you follow Emily around all the time?”
“No. But what I do find pathetic is you not having any men to choose from so you chose your best friends man.”
“Last I heard, your relationship is dead so you don’t get to tell me how to live mine.”
Emily had watched the whole argument, entertained because you were winning. Up until the last remark Jessica said and she didn’t think she could go lower.
Beth was your girlfriend a year ago. Before everything happened. You had blamed everyone for a long time. Healed from it. Even from Emily. Emily apologized multiple times, which was unlike her to be honest and you forgave her.
This is why you never forgave Jessica because here she was, throwing that in your face.
The room felt silent. As if they knew the damage Jessica had done.
You stood up slowly from your chair then began to walk towards her. “You wanna try that again?”
Jessica gave you a deadpanned look. She would be a little scared but she knew that Emily would stop you before you hit her. So she kept going. “Don’t talk about saving people’s relationships when you couldn’t even save your own.”
Emily saw your fist balled up and instead of you hitting her, you gave her a warning push. A push so aggressive, it landed Jessica back on the couch. “Hey!”
As much as Emily wanted to see you kick her ass, she knew it would be trouble. It wouldn’t be the petty cat fight that she knew she would face up against Jess. You knew how to fight and you knew how to hurt her.
Jessica came from a wealthy family and Emily did not want to see you go to jail for a petty argument.
Emily immediately got in between the two of you. Then stood right in front of you. “Calm down. She’s not worth it.”
Mike brought Jess towards him. “Both of you, stop it.” He said.
“I can’t do it.” You said. “I have to hit something.”
“Just relax.” Emily told you. “Breathe. It’s going-“
“See, Emily. All you do is bring drama and I’m sick of it.” Matt started to say. “Look what we’re all doing! Because of you!”
You had chose your target. You turned around, facing Matt. Then you gave him your best punch. Him falling to the ground and him holding his mouth.
“(Y/N)!” Emily scolded you.
You ignored her. Then you left out the back door.
You needed some air and were fine if you had to freeze to death in order to get it. You hated the way people got in your head. You were a hothead and it got the best of you sometimes.
Emily was right behind you. “Hey! (Y/N)! Slow down!”
You sighed and stopped in your tracks, allowing Emily to catch up to you. “Look I’m sorry I-“
“I don’t care, meat head! Put this on.”
You looked to see it was your jacket that you had left in the lodge. You grabbed your jacket and started place it on you.
Emily looked down to your hand and saw the bruises on your knuckles. She shook her head and placed a hand on her hip. “You really did knock the shit out of my ex boyfriend didn’t you?”
You sighed, feeling guilty of your actions. Emily was the only person who could make you feel guilty. “Look, Em I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have hit your-“ Then you had thought about what she said. “Did you say ex-boyfriend?”
“Yeah I did. He’s too soft for me obviously and I don’t have time for that. And he left my bag with all my expensive clothes in it! That idiot.”
You knew the two wouldn’t last that long but that was pretty fast you had to say.
Emily grabbed your hand and started to lead the way. “Help me look for it.”
“Ugh. Why do I gotta help you look for it?”
“Because I said so!”
You knew best not to argue with her so you let her lead the way. Besides, you weren’t going to let her be out by herself anyway.
The two of you walked to the picnic table area. Emily looked over to one of the tables and saw a carving. She dusted the snow off and saw your initials with Beth’s.
She felt jealousy when she had looked at the carving but knew she had to swallow it. “Wow. You must’ve really loved her huh?”
You were confused. You walked over and saw the carving for yourself and remembered. “Oh…that…” You leaned against the picnic table, looking down a little. “I liked her. A lot. Can’t say I loved her though. It takes a lot for me to do that.”
Emily nodded at your choice of words. It made sense. You’ve had a lot of girlfriends before Beth and you had never really loved any of them. Love was a hard thing for you and she understood that.
You decided to change the subject. “What’s so important in this bag anyway?” You asked her.
Emily smirked when you had questioned it. “Oh just my undies. The lace ones.”
You raised a brow when you had noticed the flirty tone in her voice. Emily would always flirt with you but you had always considered it to be friendly flirting and nothing romantic attached to it so you played along.
“Well we don’t need those.”
Unbeknownst to you, Emily was actually flirting with you. She had always had a secret crush on you but was too scared to do anything. Also, she was used to people hitting on her. Not her hitting on other people.
“You don’t want me to model them for you.” Emily asked you. She did a little spin so you could examine her body.
Your eyes darted all over her and it was at this point you were starting to realize that you also flirted with her more than the friendly way. “I’m just going to rip them off of you anyways.”
Emily had did something she never did before. She took a step towards you. Then grabbed your hands and made them be on her body. “You ever done it outside before?”
You were intrigued at how far Emily was willing to go to just play flirt with you which was confirming in your mind that she was serious. But how could she be serious? You two were just friends.
You had laughed at her question. “Have you?”
“No. But maybe I want to.” Emily went to tug at belt of your jeans which made you groan a little. You felt her breath on your neck and her kissing softly. “I cant with this on though.”
You moaned at the soft kisses that she placed on your neck. Yeah. She definitely wasn’t playing anymore.
Emily pulled away from your neck. She looked you directly in your eyes. You pushed away the hair that was in her face. She looked so beautiful to you.
Emily leaned in and kissed you on the lips. You didn’t hesitate. You cupped the back of her neck with your right hand and kissed her back.
You used your left hand to place on her hip and bring her closer. Emily moaned and continued to kiss you like she was hungry. She had been waiting for this.
It was freezing out but the two of you didn’t feel any cold. You were in each other’s warmth.
You just had to confirm something. You pulled away from her lips. The two of you slightly out of breath. “Wait a second.” Emily looked annoyed at you for stopping but waited for you to ask her what you needed. “Are we straight girl kissing or gay girl kissing?”
Emily shook her head at how unserious but serious you could be. “The second one.” She confirmed before going straight back to kissing you.
That made you more bolder in your movements. You picked Emily up by her ass and made her legs wrap around your waist. Emily moaned in the kiss while you sat her down on the picnic table.
Your lips went down to her neck. Instead of kissing you sucked on her sweet spots making her moan, gripping you. “God that feels so good.” Emily commented.
You pushed your knee in between Emily and made your knee make contact with her clothed area. She moaned at the friction you were going and made you pull away from her neck. “I can’t take this. Let’s go to the lodge.”
You were still lost a little. Surprised this was happening. “O-“ You couldn’t finish your sentence as Emily was already dragging you back to the lodge.
The two of you walked back into the lodge. Emily paid no mind to the people that were in the living room and dragged you upstairs, all the way to the room Emily had picked out.
When the door was closed, the two of you were back on each other. The two of you took your shoes off while you made out.
You helped Emily take her jacket off and throw in on the floor. Emily did the same for you. Emily pushed you on the bed. You sat there, watching her.
Emily’s hands went to your belt and started to unbuckle your pants. When she had finally got your pants to unbuckle, you grabbed her and laid her on the bed.
You got on top of her and took off her shirt. She was wearing a lace purple bra. You gave her a look. “All your lace underwear was in your bag huh?”
Emily giggled and kissed you. You kissed her back. You never kissed anyone the way you were kissing Emily. It was different.
That’s when you realized it was always different with Emily.
You unbuttoned her pants and helped her take them off. Her underwear matched her bra.
“Why am I the only one naked?” Emily complained while kissing you.
“It’s more fun that way.”
“Yeah, fun for you.”
You chuckled and removed her underwear. Leaving her exposed. You licked your index and middle finger before placing it on her clit and rubbing it in circles.
Emily moaned loudly. She gripped on your arm. You started off slow and teasingly. You didn’t have to do much. She was already wet from you.
You found your rhythm and started to go a little bit faster on her clit. She tried to meet your rhythm but any time she’d get too excited, you’d slow down.
“Stop torturing me, (Y/N).”
You laughed. You kissed her gently on the lips and picked back the pace. Emily moaned loudly in the kiss. You stuck your fingers in her pussy, knowing she was wet enough. The palm of your hand hit her clit while you kept the fast pace.
“God, (Y/N). Yes.” Emily tried to quietly moan but came out of extremely loud. It’s like she didn’t care to be quiet and wanted all the pleasure she could get from you.
Emily’s hands went to her chest. She held on to her chest while throwing her head back. You regretted not taking off her bra before starting.
Her clit constantly bounced off from the palm of your hand and Emily felt herself getting close. “Wait. I’m almost there. Stop.”
You kissed her on the neck. Licking and sucking on her sweet spots. “Why stop? I want you to cum on my fingers.”
Emily moaned at your words. “I want you though.”
You understood what Emily was trying to say and pulled away from her pussy. Then licked your fingers clean off. “Mmhm. I kinda want you to sit on my face.”
Emily shoved your shoulder, making you laugh. “No, (Y/N). Come on. I want you.”
You took off your pants. Then slid off your underwear and threw them somewhere. Emily was about to place her fingers on your clit but you stopped her. “Trust me, I’m already wet from you moaning.”
Emily bit her lip smiling and you got on top of her. You made sure to position your clit above hers before looking at her. “This is not how I expected to spend my weekend.”
She took off your shirt, leaving you in your bra. “Isn’t this so much better?”
“It is.” You couldn’t deny. You kissed Emily on her lips again before placing your clit directly on top of hers. The you were moving slowly.
You knew Emily all too well because you were best friends which meant you knew Emily never had sex with a woman before. So you tried moving slowly for her.
Emily was doing exactly what you knew she would do. Getting sensitive quickly. Emily let out a sharp moan. She clung onto your body, not expecting to be so sensitive. She was whimpering, pleading for you to get her to cum.
“You sound so sexy.” You told her. You tried to ease her in by kissing her lovingly all over body.
“Don’t stop. Oh god, yes.” Emily was practically screaming and you should’ve figured she would by how sensitive she was.
“Your boyfriends might hear you.” You jokingly said to her while kissing all over her body.
“I don’t care. Just get me to cum all over you. Please.”
You could’ve came off her just moaning for you. You should’ve figured Emily was submissive. She was a brat. You gripped onto her leg and went faster. Your pussies colliding against each other. Making the both of you moan in pleasure.
Emily’s hands felt like fire on your body. She unclipped your bra from the back and threw the bra on the floor somewhere.
As you kept your pace, you noticed Emily staring at you in awe. You tilted your head at her. “What?”
“You’re so beautiful.”
You weren’t expecting her to say that. You bent down to give her a sloppy kiss on her lips. She returned it.
“Mmhm. (Y/N). Let me get on top.”
You pulled away from her warmth and laid down on the bed. Emily got on top of you and placed her pussy back on yours. You chuckled at the gasp she had let out. It was far more sensitive for her to be on top than you.
“You sure you don’t want me on top?” You teased a little.
“Shut up.” Emily more so moaned and started to move on you. She didn’t go slow though. She went back to the fast pace you were doing.
You moaned, hugging onto her hips and helping her move. “Shit. Keep going. Just like that.” You went to unclip her bra and when you did, you immediately started to rub her titties.
Emily moaned at you playing with her nipples while trying to focus on her pace. “Oh god. (Y/N).”
You noticed Emily was losing her pace so you went back to her hips and helped her move on you. “Come on, baby. Move your pussy on me.”
You calling Emily baby turned her on and motivated her to move even faster on you. “(Y/N)?”
Noticing she was asking you something and not moaning your name, you nodded, still feeling immense pleasure. “Yeah?”
“When I make you cum on my pussy you’re going to be mine.”
You knew that was Emily’s way of asking to be your girlfriend but she was always the demanding type. You closed your eyes, feeling yourself become closer to release. You gripped her hips tighter. “You make me cum, you can have anything you want.”
Emily’s hands reached to your chest and started to play with your titties. You moaned at the touch. “I’m so close.” She told you.
You watched Emily’s chest bounce up and down. You couldn’t help but lick your lips. Seeing it was starting to make you close. “Keep going. I’m almost there too.”
Emily whined at how sensitive she felt herself start to get. You notice her slowing down some and you were so close you didn’t even want to help her anymore.
You flipped her on the bed and quickly got back on top. Your pussies continued to make out with each other. Wetness was heard all around the room and was even starting to go down your leg.
“(Y/N), I need you.” You felt Emily’s nails claw at your back and you knew it was only moments before she came all over you.
“Cum all over my pussy, baby. You can do it.” You said while kissing on her neck.
“Oh, god. (Y/N). Yes.”
You felt yourself coming undone, closing your eyes. “Fuck, Emily.”
“Yes, yes. I’m cumming. Oh god I’m cumming. (Y/N).”
You felt yourself cum and Emily was following right behind you. Your pussies became so wet that the juice soaked the bed sheets.
You continued to move until you knew both of you were done. You got up from her and laid down next to her.
Emily grabbed the blanket and placed it on top of the two of you. “I can’t believe I waited that long to do that.”
You chuckled before nodding. “Yeah. Me too.” You turned to look at her, seriously. “So…how do you wanna play this?”
Emily sighed, knowing what you meant. “They’re all just drama filled. I just want to stay up here with you.”
“It’s gonna come out. Especially at how loud you were.” Emily hit your shoulder at what you said and rolled her eyes.
“Well they’ll just be mad they couldn’t get me to scream like that.” She said before kissing you.
So you were with your best friend now? Not what you expected.

Until Dawn- By Your Side: Chapter One, Blackwood Pines
(Josh Washington X reader)
[Prologue] [One] [Two]
Ever since that day I’ve rarely looked Jessica in the eyes. I’ll talk to her like normal, she’ll come into my room to bother me but I never initiate anything anymore. I was pretty disgusted by her actions. Same with everyone else’s. I’ve gotten extremely close with Sam because of everything too. Her, Chris and I check in with Josh a lot.
Mainly me, they just text me asking for updates since they don’t see him as often as I do. My parents have even been getting annoyed with my “behavior.” How I’m never home, barely doing my homework and treating Jessica poorly. I’m not meaning to. I really want to look at my sister and not see a bad friend, but looking back on my pictures with Beth and Hannah it’s difficult. Knowing Hannah was devastated from what they did to her, it being a stupid prank or not.
And when Josh told me his plan to have everyone come up for this winter I was skeptical on if it would be a good idea. “Are you sure, we haven’t gone up unless it was for a search party, my love.” I run my fingers through his hair, he smiles softly up at me. He was laying his head on my chest, his arms wrapped around my torso.
“My sisters would want to have fun up there. Like we always have.” He kisses my collarbone. “Are you sure there’s no other reason?” I question him, his nose twitches and I knew I already caught him in his lies. “What other reason would there be?” He decides to ask a question in return. I stare down at him with a straight face, he lifts himself off of me.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” His brows furrow and I crack a smile, grabbing his arm. “I know you better than that, my love.” I pull him down to kiss him on his lips. “What are you scheming?” Kissing him again. “I can’t believe you caught me that quick.” He entraps me in between his arms, his body laying flat on mine. I hear him take a deep breath, I knew he was wondering if he should tell me or not. Knowing him since we were children I’ve gotten to observe every little thing about him. Something he’s done with me too.
“I just maybe want to get it out of them, that they’re guilty for it.” He finally whispers out, I stay silent for a moment. I can hear his heart beat start to quicken and before he panics I speak up. “How can I help?”
I sat on the bus with Sam, she gave me one of her earbuds as we listened to what’s on her device. It’s the radio talking about the Washington twins. I notice her stare out the window. My body stiffens slightly, it’s never easy hearing updates about the twins and it be nothing new. Nothing good. Then she clicks a button switching to a video of my boyfriend. Of Josh. I smile at the sight of his face.
“Well hello friends and fans… alright let’s do that again.” He goes back up to the camera, not really zooming it in, beginning to talk once again with the same intro. “Alright. Well hello friends and fans! It’s beyond awesome to have you guys all back this year. First off, I gotta say I am super excited to welcome all my pals back to the annual Blackwood winter getaway!” He does a little cheer. “So, um… let me just let you know, let’s take a moment to address the elephant in the room for a second…” His mood switches. “I know you’re all probably worried about me and I know it’s gonna be tough on all of us going back after what happened last year, but I just want you all to know, it means… it means so much to me that we’re doing this. And I know it would mean so much to Hannah and Beth that we’re all still here together, y’know thinking of them. I really want to spend some quality time with each and every one of you and share moments we’ll never forget. For the sake of my sisters, you know?” He gives his speech, I lean into Sam further and further as I listen to him. I feel her laugh at me a little bit but I can’t help it. “Okay… so! Let’s party like we’re fucking porn stars, okay?! And make this one trip we’ll never forget, alright? Yes!” He pumps his fists up in the air. I scrunch my nose because of his wording but Sam and I both snicker at it quietly.
When the bus finally stops at Blackwood Pines, Sam and I get out together and begin to walk forward while looking around. We were told to meet here by Chris like we have many times before. “Weird, looks like we’re before him.” I smile, twirling around. She opens the gate for both of us. “Surprising. I feel like we’re the last usually.” She huffs, I hum in agreement. We then hear a noise behind us. “Hello?” Sam calls out. “Someone there?” I ask out, furrowing my eyebrows. Squinting, checking if I could possibly see anything.
After not getting anything in response we continue on. I keep checking behind us though. Thinking maybe someone was there, playing a prank on us.
Once we get to the gate there’s a note taped onto it. “Gate’s busted, climb over. -Chris.” I read out. “So he is here and didn’t meet up like we agreed.” I cross my arms, irritated. “I wonder why.” Sam whispers. We try to open the gate still but nothing budges. I sigh and head over to the rocky wall of the fence. Sam right behind me.
“I’ll boost you.” I tell her, jokingly. The wall had too many things sticking out for a boost to actually work. I squat down a tiny bit as she begins to climb. Staying there for her as support. She does a jump and I make a face but successfully she gets on top of the wall. “Alright, your turn.” She says, taking a second to breathe.
I groan but do the same thing she did. Lifting myself up, very slowly as I don’t think I have the same amount of upper body strength as her. We jump down together. I trip a little bit and she helps me so I don’t fall. Both of us chuckling. Making our way to the area we need to get to.
We pass by the sign about Indigenous people and butterfly prophesies. “Oh, cool!” Sam grins. She skims over it but we continue forward. Finally getting to where we used to meet Josh and the twins… along with Chris.
Speaking of, “Is that Chris’s bag?” I point over to the bench. Sam moves a little closer to me. “Chris?” She calls out, we go closer to the bag. “Your bags here, but where are you?” I roll my eyes.
“Are you here? You’re not in the bag are you?!” Sam asks. I hear buzzing. “His phone.” I mutter, taking it out of the pocket. “Ah ha!” Sam grins, “look who it is.” I smirk. Ashley’s name popping up on the screen.
“Hey noseys.” A voice calls from behind us and we both jump. “Chris.” Sam sighs out. “You scared us.” We both say clinging onto each other. “I’m sorry, but are either of you my secretary?” He points a finger in our faces.
Sam takes the phone from my hand and lifts it up. “It was buzzing.” She defends our choice we made to snoop through his belonging.
“Cool. Well, thanks for letting me know. I can take it from here.” He takes it from her. He checks the message and we stand there awkwardly.
“Oh! So, I found something kinda amazing.” He goes over to his bag. “What?” Sam asks and I just lean against her, tiredly. Still intrigued nonetheless.
“I’m not gonna tell you guys, you gotta see for yourselves. Come on, it’s this way.” He leads the way, I get off of Sam and we begin to walk once again. “Where?”
“Right around here. Gonna blow your minds.” He dramatically says. “Mhm, sure.” I take a breath. “Just see before you give me attitude, [Name].” He tells me.
We get around the building and we see a Wanted poster but it doesn’t show the face of the person, It was ripped off. Only the name showed. “Victor Milgram.” I read out.
“Nice. You think we’ll get a visit from America’s most wanted?” Chris asks and I nudge him for being insensitive. “Looks like someone thought so.” Sam speaks. “oh come on. This place is abandoned most of the year.” He then starts his trail once more. “Nobody comes up here.” I think about how I came here quite a few times with Josh and his parents in the search parties for the twins. Knowing that his statement unfortunately is not true.
Him saying “Ta Dah.” Gets me out of those thoughts for a moment. “Pretty rad right?”
“Yeeeeaaaah.” Sam sarcastically says. I didn’t say anything, I just gave our friend a bored expression. “Come on! Look at these beauties.”
“Beauties is not the word that comes to mind. Why is this even here?” She questions it. “Yeah, I’m not into it.” I agree with her.
“What do you mean?” He looks back to the shooting range. “What the hell is a shooting range doing at the base of a ski lodge?”
“Dude. Have you ever met Josh’s dad? [Name], you out of everyone should know why this is here.” He points to me and I frown, knowing I have to agree with this idiot who thought a gun range would blow our minds.
“Josh’s dad thinks he’s like Grizzly Adam’s or something, for sure.” I whisper to Sam. “Wanna try?” Chris offers the shot gun to both of us. I shake my head. “You go ‘head, Grizzly.” Sam jokes with him after what I just whispered to her. Both of us laughing quietly. “Alright, here goes.” He lifts up the gun, getting it ready. He shoots the first target. He then doesn’t miss a single one and I give him a small applause.
“Wow. Nice shootin’, Tex.” Sam gives him a smile. I do a small cheer for him. “Alright. I’m bad.” Chris starts dancing causing us two to give him dirty expressions. “I’m a badass!”
“I’m gonna go ahead and guess it was a wild case of beginner’s luck.” Sam teases him after his stupid dance. “Nah, I don’t think so girl.” He wags his finger before lifting the gun back up. Shooting another target and getting it. “Well, anybody and their brother could shoot a bottle that big, that close.” She chuckles.
A squirrel shows up and my eyes widen slightly hoping Chris doesn’t go for it. “Don’t do it, Chris.” I mumble but I know he heard me when I saw his gun move to a different area. “Nice shot.”
“Your ass just got saaaacked!”
“Ugh.” I grimace, walking away from them to go back to the front of the building. “You two, our rides coming.” I say, not paying attention to what they’re doing as I head forward. I hear Sam urge Chris to come on. Him whining slightly afterward. I get to the door, trying to open it but it’s locked. I hear Chris say “a year goes fast.” And immediately choose not to ask what they were talking about.
“Hey, the doors locked.” I push on it again, to show them. “Yeaaah, Josh wanted us to keep it locked. Keep people out.” Chris informs me and then I drop my shoulders remembering that conversation we had. “He said that? What people?” Sam furrows her brows.
“He said they found people sleeping in the station one time.” I tell her, vividly seeing the conversation I had with him in my head before packing for this trip. “Creepy.”
Chris shows his key and I get out of the way for him to unlock it. He gets it open and lets us in before him.
“Ah, real gentleman.” Sam goes in, me right behind her. Sam goes to the railing and looks around as I follow Chris. “I thought the car was closer.” She complains. “Guess we gotta wait.” My boyfriend’s best friend responds.
“What a crazy place to set up house. No matter how rich you are.” He stares at a Blackwood Pines poster. “They’re not so rich.” Sam disagrees. “The only bought a mountain.” She sarcastically adds in. I watch Chris walk around the room. Both of our eyes landing on a screen. It looks like cameras surrounding the Washington Cabin. I see a thing of a bedroom and then it clip back to the front of the house. I frown, confused on what we’re looking at.
The cable car sounding closer, we both join Sam back outside. “You coming?” Sam asks Chris as I get in before her. We sit beside one another. “I was gonna catch some z’s but I guess.” He makes a horrible joke. Chris sits on the other side of me.
“Here we go.” I announce as the car moves. “Right, adventure begins.” Chris smiles.
Long awaited chapter :0

Gettogether
An idea that came to mind. The day before the disappearance of Hannah and Beth. You and Chris have a thing for one another, and it escalates. The original idea was putting eyeliner on him, and I had so much fun writing it!!
PS! Involves drinking and sexual themes (18++)
Word count: 1,7 k (Unedited!)
Everyone is laughing while sitting in the uneven circle. Emily and Jess went to the kitchen a while ago and are still gone. Jess was the first to stand up, a mischievous look plastered on her face. Her excuse was mixing a new drink, and she forcibly dragged Emily with her while laughing. I don’t know what they’re planning, but it must be good since I occasionally hear loud snickers coming from them.
While the others talk I glance over at Chris. He’s sitting at the other side. Not on the sofa, but below it, using it only as back support. In his hand is his fifth beer. At least not less than that. He’s wearing a dark green sweater, which suits him perfectly, curving at the best angles. Suddenly he brings his eyes up, meeting mine. A bit of blush covers him, but I’m probably just seeing things. Shit. I look away quickly, not feeling the heat on my cheeks. I do know it's there though. Luckily, the dim light and alcohol makes it almost impossible to see, I hope. In the corner of my eyes I see Josh whisper something to him, and they both look at me. I need some air, or at least a reason to get out a little. The storm outside is not slowing down, and is said to be even stronger tomorrow, so I wouldn’t dare to actually go outside. For now, I’m keeping calm. I should just try to join the conversation.
Mike is talking about his latest occurrence at the gym. He was apparently hit on by a girl, and it was quite an ordeal. While he’s talking I notice long stares shifting between Sam and Josh. I automatically smile and signal to Ashley and Beth to look. They notice and then both look at each other. We have to do something. Before I get an idea, Hannah turns beside me, looking strongly at my face. I stiffen, and give her a look.
“Everything okay Hannah?”
She loosens up, laughs a little.
“Yeah yeah, sorry”.
She shifts before moving her hand up to her own face.
“Your mascara is a bit smudged, want me to fix it for you?”
Oh. I haven’t touched up my makeup since I put it on in the morning. I thank her, but tell her how it probably all needs to be fixed, so I would do it quickly in the bathroom.
“Let me know if you need anything”.
“Thanks Han!” I shout while walking up the stairs.
I hear whispers behind me, but can’t make out what they’re saying. Instead of trying, I quickly get my make-up bag from my room and go to the bathroom. My mascara is not a bit smudged. It’s very smudged. How didn’t I notice before? I clean it up before deciding to redo both my eyeliner and mascara. The highlighter is still going strong and I have a hint of the eyeshadow present. I will only take three minutes max.
Right before completion, Chris burst into the room. I give a screech before covering my mouth.
“Gosh I’m incredibly sorry” he says with hands covering his eyes. My heart rate slows and I give a giggle before walking over to him and pulling his hands down.
“I was just wondering if you wanted some company?”
“No other reason for coming here?” I ask while walking back to the mirror.
“Well, I don’t know, maybe” he mumbles. I can’t make out the rest as he sits down on the chair beside me. I complete the last part of my makeup before looking down at him.
“You’re really good at that” he says while pointing up at the mascara wand.
“Do you know what this is?”
A long silence falls, and before I can tease him, he says it’s for the eyes. I smile at him while he’s sitting there, very proud.
“Do you want some?” I ask, taking out my eyeliner pencil from the bag.
“Me? Absolutely not, I’m not putting that junk on my face”
My eyes narrow a bit, and he quickly follows up.
“But you look great though, beautiful, hot, sexy everything you know, just…”
As I get closer, he gets up from the stool and backs away.
“Hey hey, I told you I didn’t want any of that”
I get in front of the door, locking it.
“You didn’t just do that”
“I believe I did”
“You’re gonna pay if you put that thing on me”
“Oh please” I plead. “Just a little on the undereye, you would look dazzling”.
“Nope, not a chance”. I think about the rest of the night, trying to remember something that I can use. I know.
“Think of it as a form of payback for scaring the shit out of me when you walked in.”
He smirks. “Payback?”
“And you thought I was naked for a second as well” I hurriedly add.
“Damn you, fine. But only this time”.
Chris is a funny and smart man, but thank goodness he also has integrity. I take his arm and lead him down to the floor. I have to release him as soon as he gets where he’s meant to be. I can’t help thinking about what’s under his clothing. He’s strong, I know he is.
With his back against the bathtub, I carefully sit down on his lap. His breath stops for a moment, and I quickly lift myself up from him again. My own breath holds, and I look away. Boundaries, I seem to forget sometimes that we’re just friends.
“Sorry, it’s just easier this way, we can do it some other way if you want.” As I turn around I feel his hand grabbing mine, dragging me down on him again. Both his hands are placed on either side of my hips.
“No it’s fine, really. I was just surprised.” His grip is firm, and I can feel my face heat up once again. He takes my expression as a sign to drag me closer to him. Chest to chest. My breath is uneven, and I notice a faint blush on his cheeks.
“So, are we gonna do it?” he asks. I’m stumped.
“Wait what?”
“With that scary sharp thing you’re going to put in my eye”. His comment takes me out of my trance, and I give a genuine smile.
“It’s not going inside your eye, just under it” I laugh, and he looks down. He shares my laugh before quickly taking hold of my waist, getting my face closer to his. His breath is on my chin. I’ve never felt as hot as I do now, like I’m steaming. He looks down at my lips before returning to my eyes. Then, in a swift motion, I meet his lips. My arms automatically go over his shoulders and in his hair, whilst his take all over my back, pressing me even closer if that’s possible. The kiss is warm and wet, and it doesn’t stop. I barely get any small breaks for breathing, making my head go a bit dizzy. I feel euphoric, and I can’t believe it’s actually happening. In the small breaks, he manages to make out a few words.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for this”. I mumble a little ‘me too’ back, as I feel his fingers on my skin, under my shirt.
“Fuck” I mumble, getting even hotter. How am I suppose to take this? And on the bathroom floor?
“Chris?”
“Mhmm?”
“Where is all this confidence coming from?”
“Pent up energy”
He starts kissing my neck, moving down to my collarbone.
“And some drinks of bravery”
“Got it”
He finds my spot, making me moan out his name. As we’re going on, I suddenly hear faint voices.
“I told you it would work”
“I’m the perfect matchmaker”
I pull away. Chris looks confused, breathless, and needy, looking up at me with pleading eyes.
“Wha-” I stop him with my hand. I know who it is. Tucking down my shirt, I quickly open the door and catch Josh and Hannah with their ears against the wall. I cough. Loudly. They both turn at the same time with completely different reactions. Hannah slowly backs away before running down the stairs, while Josh faces me with a smirk.
“I told you he liked you, but you didn’t believe me,” he says. I give him a confused glare in return.
“You know, I’m the reason this happened, I’m the perfect matchmaker.” he looks through the door, winking at Chris, who rolls his eyes.
“I just had to make sure something happened, and knowing how skittish you are made it a perfect bonding moment”
“Josh, what the h-”
He interrupts, “But at the same time, if something were to happen, it can’t happen in there. We got people who want to use the bathroom tonight”.
I can’t do anything but nod. The mood is ruined anyway. Chris appears behind me, one hand used for leaning against the door.
“Dude, we had like, a moment”
“Yeah bro, and I’m sorry about that, but just do it somewhere else” he winks before walking away, joining the others. I then feel a hand going up my side, turning me around. I look up at him, and his perfect sweet face.
“We should probably talk about this before we do anything.” he whispers. I nod in agreement.
“Though, we’ve both been drinking, so this isn’t the time” I add. He smiles down at me, taking my face in his palms before lifting my chin.
“What about tomorrow?”
“That sounds good” I turn around to join the others while taking his hand with me. I’m stopped by him and dragged into his embrace.
“But, we could also just go to my room” he whispers against my ear. I think about it. I truly want to, but Josh kind of ruined it.
“Isn’t the mood kinda low right now?”
“Let me show you how good I am at picking up the mood then” he says, tracing a finger down my neck. Fuck he’s good. I grab ahold of his hand, dragging him with me.
“Wait wait, that’s all it took?” he asks, clearly confused.
“Yep” I reply. “Especially when you look like that and talk in such a manner”
“I had a whole thing planned, like, you know, stuff and things like that”.
“Use them next time”
“Will that be later tonight?”
“Of course”. As we’ve agreed he locks the door and turns around. Before I know it, I’m slammed against the bed, him immediately going on top and kissing me.
“I could do this all night” I say between kisses.
“Good, cause we’re gonna”

new story idea! are yall in?
You’ve always wanted a close knit friend group. Your entire life, it seems like you’ve spent longing for one. And one day, you believe you’ve found it! Only for your world to be completely turned topsy turvy when they not so accidentally sacrifice you during a camping trip gone wrong.
Suddenly you wake up and it’s 2013 again. Flappy Bird is the hottest new game, everyone is doing the Harlem Shake, and vines and dodge memes are the pinnacle of humor. Mustaches and Chevron are everywhere, and "Keep Calm and blah blah blah" sayings are on everything.
You don’t remember much from this year, but everything seems a little off. It’s like everything is a little to the left. You take it as nostalgia clouding your memory and decide to just coast along. You'll invest in bitcoin and become a youtuber or something. Everything is going perfect, your plan aligning until your first day at your new high school that your 'not parent' parents enrolled you in. It's been a couple of months of you working non-stop at Starbucks, you're feeling established, you even got a cute owl necklace to be fashion backwards forward! The day itself was going well, until a slightly younger Sam Giddings is giving you a mini tour of the school.
Oh shit.
You were desperate for a friend group, yes. But not THAT desperate. They barely even like each other! Most of them ended up dead in your playthroughs, and it was basically at the hands of their friends! Every. Single. Time.
Well, except that one time with the remaster. You somehow managed to keep everyone alive. Not a great track record though! Especially if you somehow got thrown into this now VERY real life weird game mix.
It should be obvious how to avoid calamity here, there’s even a few options! Beg your 'not parent' parents to transfer you to another school? Okay that was a fail, its only been two days of the semester, but fear not, there’s other ways to avoid certain death! Beg your counselor to switch your classes? This one works a little TOO good, and now all of your classes have at least one cast member in them. Your last hope is to ignore and avoid them, entirely denying their existence in the first place. You think that it'll be easy enough...
Except you never stood a chance. Not when Sam looks at you with that amused quirk of her lip when you trip over your words as her lab partner. Not when Jess hits your arms incessantly as she laughs at your sarcastic responses. And certainly not when Josh throws his arm around your shoulder, treating you like he’s known you for years despite your short time together. These guys were crazy! They were insane in the game! Why are they growing on you? This just doesn't make sense!
Except it does.
Because here’s the thing:
If the universe was working overtime to send you here through your possibly a cult old friend group, maybe this is life’s weird way of answering your years of tears and begging for a group of people to love and be loved back by.
And there's nothing wrong with that! You're allowed to have some fun in your life!!! You can totally just cruise on by with them, go to a few parties and sleepovers here and there, then say no to the lodge hangouts. Maybe you’ll visit your 'not grandma' grandma across the country?
Except that plan becomes doomed as well. Very inconveniently, your 'not grandma' grandma dies a month before your planned visit. Your 'not parent' parents are heading out of town that weekend for their anniversary. And possibly the most damming and inescapable of all, you’ve grown quite attached to the Washington sisters.
How could you, in good conscience, leave them to their fate without at least trying to save them? These people, YOUR friends, who you’ve exchanged hearts with? You’ve got to at least attempt it. That's what friends do!
So hit the gym! And take up a weird outdoorsy sport or two. There’s roughly 6 months until the events of the prologue take place, and you aren’t going down without a fight.

WHEN YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW 𝜗𝜚 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐎
━━━ in which he knows he’s fallen for her but chooses to ignore it but she doesn’t, causing both of them heartbreak…
Jess wouldn’t know what love feels like, simply because he doesn’t know how it feels like. Coming from a mother who was too busy getting boyfriends than to be paying attention to her son, he didn’t know.
He was a troubled teenager, he knew but he didn’t care, but living in such a small town, it made him go insane. Then again it gave him the chance to experience love.
Her name was Maggie short for Margaret, she was a sweet experience for Jess, but he wouldn't say that out loud. She was a girl with a sweet attitude if approach with one, though Jess didn't really introduce himself like that.
He laid eyes on her the moment he entered his uncles diner, she was helping a customer and bussing tables. "Mags, come over here for a sec." Luke gestured the girl over, making her slowly but surely examine the boy.
"This is my nephew, Jess." Luke introduced him, in which he had a bratty face, looking the girl up and down with judgement. "Jess, this is one of my employes named Margaret." Luke signaled to the girl.
"Pleased to meet you." She wiped her hand with her waist apron, wanting to shake the boys hand. "Right.." Jess pushed around her, making her just stand there. Luke sighed and walked over to Jess taking him upstairs.
Margaret looked at the boy with a glare and got back to work.
The second time Jess had an encounter with Margaret was when he was escaping dinner at the Gilmore household. He was sneaking out from the back and making his way on the main road, there he heard a light voice reading.
It was a story he's heard about it but never read it, but it made him surprise who was reading it. There she was, sitting in by her window, was Margaret, quietly but somehow clear in her words when reading. "Taming of the Shrew?" Jess smirked looking up.
It made the girl jump in her skin, quickly shutting her book, looking down to see the boy smiling. She looked at the boy confused, she was out of her work attire and she hadn't seen the boy since that day.
"Jess, was it?" Margaret asked, looking at the boy, in which he nodded. "why are you here, at night, all alone?" She asked, looking around the street. "Escaped dinner." He muttered. His eyes shifted towards her, he examined her.
Her hair was loose (she was a brunette, he noticed) and a semi large 'The Smiths' shirt covered her upper half. He smiled stupidly, looking up at her again. "the smiths?" He said it like it was a joke. She focused her attention to him again. "yes? they're my favorite band." She says.
"Interesting choice.." Jess said making it a bit insulting. "At least it's not ABBA.." She muttered making him whip his head back at her. "No way you think of that." He wanted to laugh. "Go home Jess!" Margaret said before shutting her window's close.
Jess had this asshole smile, as he walked away, he knew something of her little by little.
Jess didn't really like Star Hallow, but this was interesting. "Whatcha doing?" He leaned on the diner counted looking at the girl below, in which she was organizing the inside of her basket. "Getting ready for the Annual Basket auction." She replies.
"Got good stuff in there?" Jess tried to peek in it before she closed it, looking up at his as if he was stupid. "You have to bid on it if you want to know whats in there." Margaret huffs up as she walks into the back to get her coat.
"So what if I bid on it?" Jess asked, this got her attention. "Now why would you do that?" She asked making him wonder about it before replying. "To see what's in the basket..?" He teased, making her groan and roll her eyes.
When it came to her basket, she was surprised on how many boys bid on it, making her nervous. "20, do we have a 25?" Taylor asked making the crowd shift, making the girl eye the last boy that bid 20, until someone actually bid 25 dollars.
"Twenty-five, here." Jess rose his hand, making the crowd look at him, and so did Margaret. "No more bidders?" Taylor asked the others, watching as the boy groan and lose the basket and the girl he wanted to go out with.
"It goes to the fellow in the yellow jacket." He hammers the table lightly before moving on. "You actually bidded on my basket?" Margaret looked at him confused. Making the boy keep walking with the basket in hand.
"Yes I did, let's move on." They walked away from the plaza, Jess was taking her away from the crowd. He actually brought her to the lake luke had pushed him into some days ago. "My goodness, did you bring me to the place Luke pushed you in?" She snickered, in which made him look at her.
She giggled and sat down near the edge, making him follow along. "You're actually in luck, I put some good stuff in this basket." Margaret smiled and opened the lid, revealing the goodies inside. "This seems like diabetical murder scene." Jess said in a monotone voice.
"Hush, there some healthy options here." Margaret pulled some sandwiches out, handing one out towards him, the scene was a comfortable silence.
Jess looked around before swallowing his bite. "The boy bidded on your basket because he wanted to make a pass on you.."Jess said making the girl look at him. "oh, um well thanks for doing that.." She smiled at him.
The silenced became a bit unsettling, the boy looked away from her, noticing how he made the situation a tad bit more still? "Sorry the guy was being an ass, so I did the more responsible choice.." He said, taking a chip from the basket.
Margaret looked at him, nodding in understandment. "Thank you for being responsible." She smiled slightly, then the silence turned a bit more comfortable.
"Maggie."
Margaret didn't know the Bracebridge Dinner would be such a problem, it was never one, not until this year. She was so fussed up with what to bring, what clothes to arrive in, what to look like, why was this so hard?
Maybe it was because he was here this year. She didn't really understand, they haven't properly interacted since Annual Basket Auction, but there was always signs..
When he would peep around just to glance at her, little actions such as him giving her a peeled orange, her cup of coffee at the diner, doing her chores little by little. It made her develop something she didn't want.
She had developed love towards the boy, and she wanted to throw up. She didn't mean it in a disgusting way but deep down she knew it was a one sided love.
Margaret could only look at herself in the mirror and just let her imagination go wild. What if Jess developed the same feeling as she did?
Would they become more? It made her heartbreak because it wouldn't work.
She ended up going to the dinner with a white knitted sweater and a black skirt, the black tights weren't really helping tring to block the cold winter air.
The first thing she saw was Jess talking to Rory, both noticing her when she walked in with her older brother and his wife. Maggie hated fidgeting with rings, and made her anxious.
Jess was about to tease her until she had walked passed them, making both of the teens look at her. She was talking to Lorelai, who was directing her to their room.
Jess could only look at her and just stare, what was going on with her? Was there something bothering her, or was he bothering her.
The dinner was intense, Margaret could feel his eyes burn holes into her. She could only just sit and eat, ignoring his presence because it made her think of things she didn't want to imagine.
She was half of the people that had left for a sleigh ride, some left before dinner and the other half did it again after. Maggie had a nice warm mug of hot chocolate sitting on her lap, along with a blanket to cover her exposed legs.
She huffed as she could see her hot breath seep out. She was alone once again, her brother and his wife having their own moment. The driver was about to move until there was a shift in the carriage.
"You didn't have the patience to wait for me?" It was Jess. Then instantly her palms became clammy and the warmth that was just in her legs suddenly rose up to the rest of her body. "You're ignoring me or something?" He kept pestering.
"No, just didn't feel like talking today." Maggie just knew that sounded lame once it came out of her lips. Jess kept looking at her and he saw her eyes go somewhere else. He stood still for a moment before sitting straight in his seat.
They had been sitting there almost half of the sleigh ride, and the air was thick. Until a head was placed in her shoulder, Maggie looked over just to be greeted with black hair in her way.
Jess had began to lean into her body more, making her lean away. "What are you doing?" Margaret could feel her face heat up, and he could feel it. "You're hogging the blanket, jeez don't you know how to share?" Jess said before it returned back to the quietness.
Then he could feel the blanket go around him, but he could feel the body next to him more clearer now. The rough thick khaki jacket he had on was a big contrast to her black leather jacket.
He could see her rosy cheek, her puffed out pink lips and her messy brown hair that was under the white beanie under her head.
When you know, you know.
Jess huffed and Maggie could feel him relax under the blanket, but he still had his face shoved into her neck. "I got you a present." Jess had whispered, making her the only one able to hear it. Maggie could only chuckle, the vibration making its way towards him.
"Me too."
Everything had changed after that, Jess seemed to be around more frequent, he seemed to care more. He had became a little bit more open with her, more genuine with her.
Then it had all changed a month before graduation, when he found out he wasn't eligible to graduate.
Now Maggie stood in front of him, near the bus station going to hartford. He had things packed and he hadn't said anything about leaving, not even her.
She just by chance was passing through there, she had came back from visiting harvard. Coming home to tell him the news, that she had been accepted.
Instead of seeing him near the diner, he was getting ready to leave her. It was eating him alive when he saw her get off the bus and head towards him. "Where are you going?"
"None of your business." His voice was blunt, making her flinch just a bit. "Excuse me?" She was confused, why was he sour?
"You're excused." He huffed out. "What's up your ass today?" Maggie was speechless. Jess on the other had sighed, visible annoyed. Maggie huffed, sitting down right next to him.
"Where are you going." She asked again, after some time of silence. Jess was still ignoring her, making her knee shove itself towards him. "I'm leaving.” His answer didn’t affect her, she knew it was going to happen either way.
Maggie looked at him, making him stiff as a board. “Okay.” She had finally peeled her eyes away from him. Jess was starting to bite his nails, he felt uneasy about this drastic change he was about to commit.
Both of them saw a bus going towards Star hallow coming their way. Maggie was going to tell him, before she would never see him again.
She knew she couldn’t make him stay, so she would unravel it all today, before he left. “Here.” She handed him a fresh book that was wrapped. Jess could see her hands shake, he could hear her voice shake, and he was the cause of it.
Jess looked at her, her face was somewhat in denial but it was putting up front he knew too well. He took it out of her hands. “this is your early birthday present.”
Before he could respond, she stood up grabbing her bag and making her way towards the bus. She stopped and grabbed something out of her bag.
“Here, this is my new address starting in March, feel free to write me or to drop by.” Maggie smiled at him, making him take the letter, it was a street near Harvard. His eyes were wide, this was big news, for her, for them.
He had encourage her to at-least apply and she agreed now she had been accepted. “Just because you’re leaving doesn’t mean we’re no longer friends, we’re friends.” She said.
“Friends can lean on each other, you can lean on me if you want to Jess, but that is a step you need to take, okay?” Jess was still, a million thoughts running through his head, He was barely able to hear her say.
“I love you, Jess.” It was like the world was becoming still, and the last horn to Star hallow blew and she walked away. Forever leaving him until he decided to reach out and lean on her.
Jess saw nothing but truthfulness on her face, and his heart palpitated. Jess was in love with her, he wanted nothing but to kiss her, hold her just for a minute but his time was up and she had been nothing but patient.
Jess however had turned hesitant, she was headed toward her dreams and he was still lost. So he let her leave, leaving her with hope that he will choose her... he never did.
He would say that was his biggest regret.
She waited, waited for two year that eventually turned into four, and ended at five. She was now twenty two, and has only a dash of hope, but it flew away when she met him.
A boy who was like her, waiting for someone. Somehow they met as an accident that turned into a friendship that healed them, and turned into love.
His name was Theodore, and he had healed her waiting heart that was stuck in denial and hope. Two years had flown by and she had moved on, now planning her wedding.
She had returned to Star Hollow to hand out wedding invitations to closer relatives and friends. Maggie had contacted her brother to meet up at Luke's diner. "My, look how you've grown up!" Eliza her brothers wife had said. "Hey Maggie, how's Theo?" Tyler, her brother asked, making her roll her eyes. "You haven't seen me in a long time and you ask for theo?" She said, making the man surrender jokingly. "How've you been?" Tyler said slinging his arm around, making her laugh. "Happy."
Luke was surprised when he saw her enter the diner, he was happy but he had gotten a tinge of sadness in his old heart. The last time he had seen her wasn't that long ago but to him, she was still seventeen.
"Hey Mags." Luke side hugged her, making her smile. "Hey, how've you been?" Her smile had turned large, she wouldn't lie, she had missed him. "Busy and tired running this place." He exaggerated, massaging his shoulders jokingly. Maggie laughed, making him smile a bit. "This place needs you back, miss my handy employee."
She had laughed harder this time and continued to talk to him before eventually going to sit with the people she was originally going to talk too. "Here it is!" Maggie pulled something out of her bag, in which was the wedding invitation. "God, you're growing up." Tyler took the card, almost tearing up watching his baby sister grow into a wonderful lady.
"I want Eliza to be my maid of Honor." Maggie asked shyly making the other woman jump in excitement, then sitting back down. "I'd love too!" She smiled.
Eventually they had invited her to their house, her little nephew had missed her dearly.
Margaret smiled big, she loved this part Connecticut, her little town. She watched the kids she once knew pass her by telling her hello, and other things. She had entered Luke's diner with no thought in her mind, looking up to find Luke.
Then again, she turned into a fool everytime he looked at her. "Jess." Maggie felt her heart drop as his name became a foreign language.
Jess was surprised to see her, then his mind went blank.
The two adults had stood there still, what was wrong with her? She had waited for this moment, because she was over him. "Hi, um how've you been?" She said taking a step near the counter. Jess was still looking at her, taking her features in.
"I've been good, you?" Jess finally mustered something out, making the girl look around before responding. "I'm fine, do you know where you uncle is?" She asked looking around again, the diner was empty, it was just them. Jess's eyebrows frowned "Upstairs.."
"Alright, it was nice seeing you." She smiled at him before walking away. Jess could only think about was why was she so calm, acting like she didn't care.
"Luke you in there?" Maggie knocked before the door swung open. It was Lorelai, and Luke, they seemed flustered. "Woah is this a bad time?" She said, before the two yelled a 'no'. "Well this is actually a good time for me, Lorelai come here." She said, walking to were luke was.
The other two looked at eachother, as the younger one pulled something out. Lorelai was the first one to see it, making her scream. "You're engaged!?" She yelled, leaving no time for the girl to respond before pulling her into a bone crushing hug.
Luke was shocked but congratulated her, but when he was done she laughed. "Gosh, you guys, wait!" She said before pulling out wedding invitations, making the other woman scream more. "You're getting married!?" She yet again pulled her into a hug.
"I want both of my parent figures there..you guys mean so much to me." Maggie gave them a sad smile that was quickly wiped off. Luke had laughed a bit, while Lorelai cried happy tears just a bit.
After some time Lorelai had left to tell Rory the news, after her Luke walked her down. That was when Luke remembers what happened between her and his nephew, quickly looking at her. "It's fine, I'm over it." She smiled.
Jess had noticed her and Luke walk past him, before leaving the diner to talk outside. "Luke, I wanted ask you for a favor." Maggie said, catching the attention of the older man. "I want you to walk me down the aisle, but it's totally up to you!" Maggie continued to talk until Luke hugged her. "I'd love too."
With that Maggie smiled and hugged him back, after sometime they parted. Maggie could see on luke's face that he was thinking about something, and she knew what. "He can come too, I don't mind."
Luke looked at her with worry, only for her to shrugged it off. "I'm over it Luke, I've met the love of my life, and I'm happy.." She stated while Luke nodded, then she left.
Luke smiled a bit before going back upstairs only to find Jess staring at the invitation back upstairs. "Are you going to go?" He asked a bit dull. "I am." Luke snatched it out. “Ironic.”
"She was nice enough to invite you too, knowing you broke her heart." Luke had a harsh habit of reminding him, making him wince. “You need to get over it.” He continued, making the boys anger grow once again.
“She’s finally moved on and able to find happiness, you should follow in her steps.” Luke said. “Please why are you so angry about this? It was just a stupid crush she had.” Jess anger began to bubble.
“It wasn’t a stupid crush, she was waiting for you for five years!” Luke declared. Jess anger disappeared, now he was looking at his uncle with a confused look. “What do you mean five years?”
“Five years my ass! When I finally had the courage to go see her, she was already with him! She broke that promise.” Jess yelled, making Luke frown.
“She met Theodore when they were both healing! He was nothing but a friend to her, a year later they began dating, she moved on! Now she’s over you and now getting married.” Luke screamed back, making Jess quiet again.
“You didn’t have enough courage, but she did. She was able to look at you and forgive you, takes a really nice person to do that.” Luke finally said. “I’ll be going to that wedding, and I’ll be walking her down that aisle.” He said slapping a rag down the counter.
Jess looked at his uncle who stormed upstairs, now wanting to scream at himself for being an idiot. Jess ran outside and looked for her around the plaza, he saw no one.
She looked eternal, that's how Jess would describe her. She was like a model you would see in a bridal magazine, the ones that found the perfect dress.
Jess was nothing but awestruck, watching her walk down the aisle with his uncle's had guiding her down, handing her to her future husband. Jess saw it in his smile, he looked in love with her, it made him think. Would that have been him, if he chose her?
The whole ceremony was beautiful, Jess eyes were just on her. Capturing every time she smiled, when her eyes twinkled towards her lover. When she cried reading her vows, and looked at him while he read his.
When she kissed him as everyone erupted cheered for the happy couple, making him stand up as well. Finally watching her walk down the aisle but now with someone that would cherries her like he should've done.
As the party, Jess wanted to run away from the crowd. So he did, sneaking around before he made his way to his car, until he heard a voice he knew so well. "What are you reading these days?"
Jess looked behind to find her with a kind smile, her after party dress that made her move freely now. Jess could only think of their first encounter years ago. "Mostly taming of the shrew and others.."
"Jess, was it?" Margaret smiled, looking at the boy, in which he nodded. "why are you here, at night, all alone?" She asked, looking at the sweet boy with a knowing look he knew too well. "Escaped dinner." He muttered, his eyes shifted towards her, as he examined her.
Her brunette hair was loose, while it was halfway tied up, and her body contained a loose white sundress, god was he a fool. He smiled stupidly, looking up at her again. "The smiths?" He said as the background noise was her favorite Smiths song, the singing along of her guest said so too.
She focused her attention to him again. "yes? they're my favorite band." She says. "Interesting choice.." Jess said making it a bit insulting. Margaret looked sadly at him, the air became a bit awkward. “Just because we had a rough time with our relationship doesn’t mean we’re no longer friends, we’re friends.” She said.
Jess eyes widen, how could she? How could she still say he's a friend after everything he's done. "Jess, you have to put in mind we both experience the same hurt, in the end we didn't end up together." She said, making him look at her nervously. "As your friend, I would want you to move on.. as the girl you broke her heart, I would want you love someone better."
“Friends can lean on each other, you can lean on someone special if you want to Jess, but that is a step you need to take, okay?” Margaret said, giving him a sad smile, before turning away. "Bye, Jess, Love you." She said, before walking away.
Jess stood there, as the tears finally bursted out. Maggie short for Margaret, she was a sweet experience for Jess. She was an experience he wished he could relive and do the right thing, because he had finally lost the girl he loved, the girl who genuinely was ready to be by his side, but she needed him to take that step.
A step he regretted not doing everyday after he wedding.

MIRRORBALL: PROLOGUE
"ARE YOU SURE YOU CAN'T STAY FOR DINNER?" (Name) asked the blond in front of her whilst they stood outside the front door to her house.
"As much as I would love to, I really can't. My aunt's visiting and I need to be there to ensure my mother doesn't start fighting her." Theodore hummed, brushing a stray hair away from her face
(Name) chuckled "It's the same when gran comes to visit. I swear last time I saw my mother clench her fists, like she was gonna punch her."
Theodore gasped jokingly "The Emily Gilmore? No!"
"Not really shocking when you consider that this is Lorelai the first we're talking about." (Name) smiled, her hand intertwining with his. "Isn't it so weird how I have 3 Lorelais in my family?"
"Yeah..keep forgetting you're an aunt.." He whispered, kissing her forehead "You're lucky you weren't called Lorelai too..would've been confusing.."
"Tell me about it.." She frowned as she noticed him pulling his hand away "Call me when you get home, or at least when your mother and aunt aren't trying to kill each other?"
He rolled his eyes "Yes mom." He said, before leaning in to kiss her lips gently, until she wrapped her arms around his neck. Then it was not so gentle.
"Freud is rolling around in his grave right now," she murmured against his lips.
"Please stop," he groaned, before shutting her up with his lips again, hand tangling in her hair. They stood like that for a few minutes, occasionally coming back up for air whilst Theodore procrastinated returning home in favour of kissing his 'friend'. They were so immersed in one another that they couldn't even hear the footsteps approaching them.
"Oh god-" a familiar voice spoke. "Sorry, am I interrupting..?"
(Name) pulled away with a loud yelp, eyes wide and embarrassed as they landed on none other than her older sister. Lorelai the second. Well, nobody actually called her that. She was just Lorelai Victoria Gilmore. Or Lorelai.
"Crap- Lorelai! What are you doing here?" She chuckled nervously, whilst Theo tried not to smack his head into the wall. "Is it thanksgiving already?" She joked, wiping her lips with her sleeve.
"I just had a business class..I thought I could stop by." She explained, equally as traumatised by the situation.
"Oh, yeah. You mentioned that, a while ago, I think." (Name) nodded, before the front door opened to reveal her mother, Emily.
"What's all the commotion about..?" She said before her vision landed on her oldest daughter. "Lorelai, my goodness, this is a surprise. Is it Easter already?"
Lorelai laughed nervously, shaking her head. "No, I just finished up my business class and I thought I would stop by."
"To see us?"
"Yes," she nodded.
"Well that's nice," Emily smiled, opening the door wider "Come in." She turned to Theo who was stood by (Name). "Would you like to come in too, Theodore?"
He shook his head "I'd love to, but I really have to be going." He said, kissing the side of (Name)'s head before walking back to his car. "Bye (nickname), Bye Mrs Gilmore."
(Name) watched him walk off with a smile on her face before entering the house shortly behind Lorelai.
"The place looks great," Lorelai said awkwardly, glancing around the room. Nothing seemed to be much different than when she was that angry teenager, apart from the painting above the mantle. Instead of it being herself, Richard and Emily, it was now her parents and little sister.
"Nothings changed," said Emily curtly.
"Well there you go," She replied, tearing her eyes away from the painting and to her mother. "How are the girls at the bridge club?" She asked as they walked into the living room.
"Old."
"Well...good." Lorelai said before (name) decided to interrupt the awkward conversation to take her leave.
"I'm going to go get dressed, and I'm expecting a call from Amara, too. " She smiled, kissing her mother on the cheek as she sat down.
Emily nodded "I'll let you know if she calls." She said whilst (Name) walked up stairs to her room, Lorelai's old room, her Mary Jane's clacking against the floor. "You said you were taking a business class?" Emily asked, turning to Lorelai who sat opposite her.
"Yeah, I'm taking a business class at the college, twice a week. I'm sure I told you," Lorelai recalled. It wasn't surprising if her mother did forget though.
"Well if you're sure then you must have." There was a long silence. "Would you like some tea?"
"I would love some coffee," She replied. Very typical of her. God, could this be any more awkward? She wanted to ask for the money, then go, even if her request was rejected.
"Emily?" Oh it could be more awkward. "I'm home." Richard called from the other room.
"We're in here!" She called back
"We? I thought (Name) had tennis practice after school—" He said, walking into the room before he saw Lorelai sat opposite Emily.
"Hi dad." She smiled politely.
"What is it, Christmas already?" He said sarcastically "I assume (Name)'s still at school then."
"Oh no, she came home early. Might've been cancelled. She's upstairs." Emily explained. "Theodore drove her home, as usual, couldn't stay for dinner though."
"Theodore?" Lorelai raised a brow, surprised that she knew so little about her younger sister. Was that her boyfriend or something..?
"Lorelai was taking a business class at the college today and decided to drop by to see us," Emily said, ignoring her.
"What business class?" Richard asked, stood beside the couch.
"Well she told us about it, dear, remember?" Emily said, a mix of sarcasm and condescension in her voice.
"No."
"Well actually," Lorelai said hesitantly "I came here for a reason. Dad, would you mind sitting down for a minute?"
"You need money." Richard stated, walking behind the couch
"..I have a situation." Lorelai tried to defend herself.
"You need money." Richard repeated.
"Dad will you please just try to let me get this out, okay?" This was exactly why she didn't want to do this, Lorelai reminded herself. "Um, Rory has been accepted to Chilton."
"Chilton? Oh that's a wonderful school, (Name) goes there," Emily smiled "Top of her class. And it's very close to here too."
Lorelai sighed "Yes, I know she goes there. That's partially why I thought it would be a good idea for Rory to apply-"
"Oh, I'm sorry I just thought you forgot. You two rarely speak at all apart from the occasional word at Christmas." Emily said sarcastically.
Lorelai bit her tongue, trying not to start an argument. "Well, Rory can start Chilton as early as Monday. Um, the problem is, they want me to put down an enrolment fee as well as the first semester's tuition, and I have to do all that immediately or she loses her spot."
"So you need money."
"Yeah, but it's not for me, it's for Rory." She explained "And I fully intend to pay you back every cent. I don't ask for favours, you know that."
"Oh yes, we know." Emily said.
"I'll get the cheque book." Richard stated, ready to walk away and retrieve it from his office.
"Thank you, you have no idea. Thank you." Lorelai smiled.
"-on one condition." Emily interrupted.
"So close." Her daughter muttered under her breath.
"Since we are now financially involved in your life, I want to be actively involved in your life." She continued.
"What does that mean, mother?" Lorelai asked, a feeling of dread washing over her.
"I want a weekly dinner."
"What?"
"Friday nights, you and Rory will have dinner here." Emily explained. "And you have to call us once a week to give us an update on her schooling and your life. That's it. That's the condition. If you agree, you'll come to dinner tomorrow night and leave here with the cheque. Otherwise, I'm sorry, we can't help you.."
Lorelai sighed again, accepting her fate. Of course her mother was going to pull something like this. "I..I don't want her to know that I borrowed the money from you. Can that just be between us?"
"Does seven o'clock work for you?" Emily confirmed, the phone starting to ring.
She forced a smile. "Perfect."
The phone continued to ring and (Name) rushed down the stairs in a different outfit, although equally preppy. She picked up the phone and answered it whilst Lorelai got up to leave.
"Hello?" She spoke into the phone, waiting for the person on the other end to reply.
"(Name), should I call him?" Amara, her best friend, said whilst (Name) walked with the phone.
"Who?" She said, in a much lower voice.
"James! He hasn't called me all week, and he was ignoring me at school, I could tell." She groaned whilst her friend rolled her eyes
(Name) shook her head "I mean, he didn't explicitly say you broke up but that sounds like he wants nothing to do with you if you ask me," she hummed, waving to her dad to greet him home whilst she still spoke into the phone. "What an idiot.."
"I think I saw him walking out of school with someone else today—" Amara paused. "Hold on, Alex is on the other line."
(Name) stopped talking, putting the phone to her side for a moment whilst she looked over at her parents and sister on the couch. "Daddy, did you look over my economics paper for me?" She asked her father, walking over and kissing his cheek.
"Yes, and I must say, I think it's worth an A+," He said, making his daughter grin.
"Perfect." She smiled. "I should hope so, it's worth like 20% of my grade.."
"Well then consider that 20% guaranteed." He chuckled. (Name) turned, glancing at Lorelai who was about to leave.
"Going so soon?" She asked whilst the phone in her hand was still silent.
"Well, I have to get back to the inn," Lorelai explained. "It was nice seeing you all."
"I'll walk you to the door," Her sister offered, walking out the living room with her. "So what were you really here for?" She asked as they grew out of earshot. "Money?"
"It's nothing, (name), don't worry about it." Lorelai said, deflecting the conversation. "Who was that guy you were necking with?"
"Gross. Nobody says necking anymore," (Name) rolled her eyes. "And that was just Theodore."
"Who?"
"He was at my last birthday party, and like every other birthday party you've attended." She explained. "Theodore Montgomery? Last name ring any bells?"
"Frosted tips!" Lorelai exclaimed, remembering all of a sudden.
"That was when we were 14, he doesn't have them any more," she defended, checking if Amara was back on the other line briefly before continuing "We've been friends since forever, surely you know more than that."
"Just friends?" Lorelai raised a brow.
"Just friends." (Name) confirmed, opening the door whilst Lorelai stepped out. "Bye Lorelai. See you on thanksgiving."
"Or tomorrow." She smiled before (Name) shut the door with a roll of the eyes, getting back on the phone.
"What did he want?" She asked as Amara returned, walking back towards her room with the brick like phone against her ear.
"He? He has a name you know." A familiar voice spoke.
"Hello to you too, Alexander Caspian Grimaldi." (Name) rolled her eyes, shutting her bedroom door, and sitting on her bed. God she hated three way calls.
"Anyways," Amara interjected, grumbling as she recalled what she had seen earlier that day. "Alex found out who James was with, all friendly with his arm around her waist..guess."
"Hmm..Me?" (Name) joked, whilst Amara waited.
"Haha. I can tell who you are from the back of your head, and you'd never do that to me. We never fight over boys," She said
"Because you have awful taste and I'm not a fan of high school boys. Too immature." (Name) retorted
"Cher and Dion have nothing on us," Amara giggled "guess, for real this time."
"I don't-"
"It was Rebecca!" Alexander interrupted, unable to keep it in.
"No!" (Name) gasped "That Mormon bitch who asked you for your lipgloss after gym today? The nerve!"
"I know!" Amara agreed "Like I didn't even get the opportunity to break up with him and he's kissing a girl wearing my lipgloss. He totally still wants me."
Alex scoffed "He wants you so he was out with another girl? Makes sense."
"Oh butt out, Alex, you're a boy, you don't get it." (Name) said, rolling her eyes. "I can't believe Rebecca would do that."
"Is she really a Mormon? I thought those only existed in Utah." Alex hummed, gossiping with them.
Amara passed before trailing off. "I guess I can't talk to James any more...I'll never find love."
"What made you think you were gonna find love in a prep school in the first place? " (Name) joked, holding a pink fluffy pillow against her chest. "When we go off to Yale, they'll be plenty of assholes to choose from."
"Real optimistic, aren't you?" Alex hummed.
"It runs in my blood," She smiled to herself. "Speaking of which, guess who came over today?"
"Don't tell me it's the deadbeat sister," Amara joked.
"She's not a deadbeat," (Name) tried to defend. "But yeah, Lorelai was here. I think she was asking for money, because she's only ever here for my birthday or holidays...But, in her defence, she's always been self sufficient so if she's asking, she must really need it.."
Her friend hummed in agreement "You must be, if you're gonna move out at 16 with a new born baby."
"And then not realise you have a sister until Christmas." Alex added. "Well, at least you got to see her an extra time before thanksgiving."
(Name) shook her head "I don't know about that..She said something about coming over tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure I heard my parents say something about dinner tomorrow. She might be coming over, for god knows what. Anyways. I have homework to do, so I've got to go."
"Wait was this the math homework?" Amara asked "Crap, I totally forgot! You really need to get a new cellphone, I'll froget these things without you."
"Well then you better go do it too, bye!" (Name) hung up the phone.
"So do we go in or do we just stand here recreating the little match girl?" Lorelai spoke as she and Rory stood outside the Gilmore residence. Rory remained silent, still not talking to her mother after their argument that afternoon. "Okay, look, I know you and me are having a thing here and I know you hate me but I need you to be civil, at least through dinner and then on the way home, you can pull a Menendez. Deal?"
"Fine." Rory said whilst Lorelai rang the doorbell. Within seconds, Emily opened the door with a smile. "Hi grandma."
"Well you're right on time." She said.
"Yeah, no traffic at all." Lorelai agreed with a forced smile. They walked through the door behind Emily who seemed genuinely excited to see the two of them on a day the banks were open.
"I can't tell you what a treat it is to have you both here."
"Oh well, we're excited too." Said an unexcited Lorelai, fiddling with her coffee cup.
"Is that a collector's cup or can I throw it away for you?" Emily asked, glancing at the paper cup.
"Oh," Lorelai muttered, about to throw it in the nearby wastebasket before Emily interrupted.
"In the kitchen, please." She turned to Rory. "Are you excited about chilton?"
"Well, I haven't started yet." Rory replied, walking alongside her grandmother to the living room.
"Richard, look who's here— where's (name)?" Emily glanced around.
"She said she was studying, remember?" Richard said, looking up from his newspaper. "Rory. You're tall."
"(Name), they're here!" Emily called up the stairs before her youngest daughter came down the creaky steps.
"Hi dad, (name)," Lorelai nodded to both respectively.
"Hi." She said with a small smile, brushing invisible creases out of her dress.
Richard looked over to her. "Lorelai, your daughter's tall."
"I know, it's freakish. We're thinking of having her studied at MIT."
"Ah." He hummed, returning to the paper.
"Champagne anyone?" Emily asked, interrupting the lack of conversation.
"Oh that's fancy," Lorelai hummed.
Emily poured a glass for Lorelai, herself and Richard. "Well it's not everyday that I have my girls here for dinner on a day the banks are open." She raised her glass, after handing glasses to the others. "A toast, to Rory entering chilton with (Name) and an exciting new phase in her life."
"Here here." Richard agreed
"Mm..well let's sit everyone." Emily said, sitting beside (Name) "An education is the most importantly thing in the world next to family."
"And pie." Lorelai smiled. "Joke, joke."
"Ah." Emily nodded, a long silence following Lorelai's remark. Richard handed Rory a newpaper whilst (name) stated at her shoes.
They finally made their way into the dining room, still sitting in silence. (Name) internally groaned, wishing she was hanging out with her friends instead.
"So, Rory, how do you like the lamb?" Emily asked.
"It's good." She nodded.
"Too dry?"
"No, it's perfect."
"Potatoes could use some salt though." Lorelai joked again. (Name) shot her a look.
Emily turned to Lorelai "Excuse me?"
"The potatoes are good, mom." (Name) said, trying to avoid any conflict. "Lorelai's just kidding. She's such a kidder." She said sarcastically, kicking her sister beneath the table.
"So, Grandpa, how's the insurance biz?" Rory asked, changing the subject.
"Oh, people die, we pay. People crash their cars, we pay. People lose a foot, we pay," Richard said.
"Well at least you have your new slogan," Lorelai joked again.
Richard hummed absentmindedly. "And how are things at the motel?"
"The inn?" Lorelai corrected "They're great."
"Lorelai's the executive manager now. Isn't that wonderful?" Emily chimed in.
"Speaking of which, Christopher called yesterday." He replied. (Name) didn't know Christopher, only hearing he was Rory's father, and the guy who turned Lorelai into a teen mother, which meant (Name) had vowed to stay celibate unto she was at least 20, just to beat teen pregnancy. Not that her parents would complain.
"Speaking of which? How is that a speaking of which?" Lorelai asked.
Well, she had met Christopher once or twice, before she was fully conscious, as a baby a couple of times before he disappeared off to do god knows what, god knows where, although she and Theodore were often compared to the pair, typically amongst Emily and Richard's older friends who knew them as children. The comparisons weren't encouraged though, especially since she had turned 15, soon to be 16 in the coming summer, a few months away.
"He's doing very well in California. His internet start up goes public next month. This could mean very big things for him," Richard turned to Rory. "Very talented man, you're father."
'Talented enough to get a girl pregnant and go off to the other side of the country' (name) thought to herself, but didn't say anything, as usual.
"She knows." Lorelai said, starting to feel agitated.
"He was always a smart one, that boy. You must take after him," he told Rory.
'Smart enough to not wrap it before he tapped it.'
"Speaking of which," Lorelai interrupted. "I'm going to get a coke. Or a knife." She said, before standing up and storming out of the dining room into the kitchen where she started scrubbing dishes in the sink. The maid walked in, giving her a look before walking back out.
"Guess you're not gonna be the one pulling a Menendez, huh?" (Name) whispered to Rory, out of earshot from her parents.
"What?" She whispered back
"I heard you, outside, from my bedroom."
Rory nodded slowly, glancing towards the door to the kitchen and getting out of her seat. "I think I should go talk to her."
"No I'll go," Emily insisted "you stay and keep your grandfather company. (Name) can tell you about Chilton." She got up, going to the kitchen "Lorelai, come back to the table."
"Is this what it's gonna be like every Friday night? I come over and let you two attack me?" She asked, turning around from the sink, facing her mother.
"You're being very dramatic," Emily rolled her eyes.
"Dramatic?" Lorelai exclaimed. "Were you at that table just now?"
"Yes I was," She replied. "And I think you took what your father said the wrong way."
"The wrong way?" She asked, annoyed by the response "How could I have taken it the wrong way? What was open to interpretation?"
Whilst they argued, (name), Rory and Richard sat in silence, able to overhear the whole argument.
"So," (name) tried to distract them. "Are you excited to start chilton? I can give you the run down on all the teachers if you want. And considering we'll be in the same grade, you can always hang out with my friends and I. They're all really nice, I promise."
"Um, sure." Rory nodded, still eavesdropping on the argument, although that was easy with how loud Lorelai was being.
"Keep your voice down." Emily hissed
"No mother, I can't take it anymore." Lorelai argued back. "Tonight feels just like a nightmare. I can't believe (Name) has to live like this every single day. I can't even take one damn night!"
Emily stepped back as Lorelai dropped suds on the kitchen floors. "You're dripping all over the floor."
"Why do you pounce on everything I say?" Lorelai continued.
"That's absurd." She retorted. "You barely uttered a word all night."
"That's not true." Her daughter frowned.
"You said pie."
"Oh come on."
"You did," Emily insisted. "All I heard you say was pie."
"Why would he bring up Christopher? Was that really necessary? Could've talked about (Name)'s boyfriend instead." She said, pacing around.
Emily raised a brow at that last comment, lining it wasn't true. "He likes Christopher."
"Isn't that interesting?" Lorelai said rhetorically "Because, as I remember, when Christopher got me pregnant, Dad don't like him so much."
"Oh, well, please, you were sixteen." She recalled "what were we supposed to do? Throw you a party? We were disappointed. The two of you had such bright futures."
"Yes, and by not getting married, we got to keep those bright futures."
"When you get pregnant, you get married. A child needs a mother and a father." Emily stated.
"Oh mom." Lorelai held back the urge to roll her eyes. "Do you think Christopher would have his own company right now if we'd gotten married?" She paused "Do you think he'd be anything at all?"
"Yes, I do. You're father would've put him in the insurance business, and you'd be living a lovely life right now," Emily explained "And you would actually know your little sister, you know, (hair colour hair), cartoony (eye colour) eyes, in case you forgot."
"He didn't want to be in the insurance business, and I am living a lovely life right now!" Lorelai argued back, annoyed by her mother's meddling. "And I would've known (name) better had you not kept her from me, I didn't even know she existed, or that you were ever pregnant."
"I didn't keep (Name) away from you, you went off to live your life far away from us with limited contact."
"—oh here we go." Lorelai groaned.
"You took that girl and completely shut us out of your life," Emily continued. "Not the other way around."
"You wanted to control me," She said.
"You were still a child!"
"I stopped being a child the minute the strip turned pink, and you had (Name) too," Lorelai scoffed. "I had to figure out how to live. I found a good job—"
"As a maid.." Emily sneered. "With all your brains and talent."
"Well you get your do over now, with (Name)," she accused. "I worked my way up, I run the place now. I built a life on my own with no help from anyone."
"Yes, and think of where you would have been if you'd accepted a little help, hmm?" Emily countered. "And where Rory would have been. Hell, she and (Name) could've been best friends. But no, you were always too proud to accept anything from anyone."
"Well, I wasn't too proud to come here to you two begging for money for my kid's school, was I?!" Lorelai barked, a little too loud, causing both her sister and daughter to overhear, whilst Richard felt asleep in his seat. (Name) wasn't really surprised, but it seemed that Rory was.
"No, you certainly weren't. But you're too proud to let her know where you got it from, aren't you?" Emily declared with a smirk. "Well, fine, you have your precious pride and I have my weekly dinners. Isn't that nice? We both win."

The oppressive darkness of the sanatorium clung to every corner, the air thick with the stench of rot and decay. Your footsteps echoed faintly as you and Mike moved cautiously through the long, decaying hallway.
Mike was ahead, gritting his teeth as he wrestled with the stubborn door of the room that held a shotgun and ammunition inside. He was trying everything. Shouldering it, kickin it, using his weight to force it open, but it wouldn't budge. The door was rusted and seemed to be mocking his attempts to open it.
"Come on, you piece of shit," Mike growled under his breath, slamming his shoulder against the door again with a frustrated grunt. His breath came out in harsh puffs, fogging in the cold air.
You stood a few feet behind, your eyes flickered nervously around. Every distant creak or scrape set your nerves on edge. You couldn't shake the feeling that something was watching, lurking just beyond the reach of your flashlight.
A faint voice echoed from down the hallway. "Help... please... help me." It was Jessica's voice. Your heart skipped a beat, confusion and fear swirling inside you. Jessica? You thought she was dead.
"Mike, did you hear that?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper, already taking a few hesitant steps toward the source of the sound.
Mike's eyes narrowed as he tried to focus on the task at hand. "What? No. I didn't- wait, what did you hear?" He glanced over his shoulder, but you were already moving down the hallway, drawn toward the voice that called out again, more desperate this time.
"Help me, please!" Jessica's voice cracked with pain, and your mind raced. You moved quicker, following the sound into a side room, your flashlight shaking in your trembling hand.
It couldn't be real. It wasn't possible. But the voice was so familiar, so desperate, that you couldn't stop yourself from moving toward it. Your legs seemed to act on their own, driven by a faint hope that somehow, Jessica had survived.
The voice came again, more desperate this time. "Help... please..."
Your heartbeat thundered in your ears as you moved cautiously into the room. The floor was littered with debris, broken furniture, shards of glass, and piles of crumbling wood. The walls were covered in mold, and the air smelled of damp rot.
"Jessica?" you whispered, your voice shaking slightly as you scanned the room. "Jess... where are you?"
The voice, once a call for help, turned into a twisted, distorted mimicry of Jessica's scream.
A figure dropped down from a broken window above. The Wendigo landed with a sickening thud, its bones pressing grotesquely against its pale skin.
The remnants of torn and dirty clothes still clung to its body, a reminder of the human it once was. Its face, a twisted mess of teeth and sinew, sniffed the air, its milky-white eyes darting around the room, searching for movement.
They're blind, they only see those who move.
The creature's head snapped to the left, its limbs twitching unnervingly as it started to replicate Jessica's voice again. "Help me. help..."
The mimicry was perfect, the voice identical to Jessica's, but there was something horribly wrong with the way it was spoken now that you heard it up close. It was hollow, empty, as though it was toying with the memory of the girl you had once known.
You didn't dare to move.
You didn't even breathe.
It was close now, inches from you, its breath hot and rancid against your skin. You could hear the crackle of its joints, the faint click of its jaws as they opened and closed, tasting the air.
Just when you thought the creature would tear you apart, the deafening blast of a shotgun shattered the tense silence. The Wendigo's body jerked violently as the shotgun's impact threw it against the wall with bone-shattering force. The creature let out a shriek, the noise echoing through the room.
"Don't you fucking dare touch him!" Mike's voice rang out, fierce and raw with emotion. He stood in the doorway, shotgun still smoking in his hands, eyes blazing with fury.
He was at your side instantly, his hand grabbing yours and he yanked you out of the room with a sense of urgency. "Run!" he commanded, and together, you bolted down the hallway, your heart pounding in your chest.
You could hear the Wendigos now, their guttural snarls and skittering movements echoing through the corridors.
"I swear, if you ever do something that stupid again, I'll-" Mike began, his voice tight with fear, but before he could finish, another Wendigo screech from behind you.
It was gaining on you both, its skeletal form moving unnervingly fast as it closed the distance. It leaped at Mike, its claws outstretched, aiming to tear him apart.
"Mike!" you screamed as the creature tackled him. Mike grunted as he used the weapon as a makeshift shield, blocking the Wendigo's swipes as they slashed toward his face. The Wendigo screeched, its jagged teeth gnashing together as it tried to claw its way through the weapon. Mike grunted, his muscles straining as he shoved the creature back, the shotgun rattling in his hands.
Its claws raked against the shotgun as it was knocked out of his hands in the process. The weapon skidded across the floor, out of reach, as the creature lunged at Mike again, pinning him to the ground.
For a terrifying moment, you saw the Wendigo's claws hovering inches above Mike's throat, its grotesque mouth open wide as it prepared to strike. Without thinking, you grabbed the machete that had fallen from Mike's belt and charged forward, your heart racing as you swung the blade with all your strength.
The machete barely cut through the thick skin of the Wendigo's head, but it stopped moving. The creature collapsed on top of Mike, its lifeless body twitching.
Mike let out a breathless grunt, shoving the body off him with a groan, his chest heaving from the effort as he turned to look at you.
Mike's eyes were wide, his face a mixture of shock and gratitude. He ran a hand through his sweat-soaked hair.
"Holy shit," Mike breathed. "You saved my ass." His voice was thick with emotion, his usual cocky smirk absent as he stared at you in awe.
Mike's gaze softened, his lips parting as a slow, proud grin spread across his face. The adrenaline still pumped through his veins. You had saved him. You had fought for him. And now, as he lay there on the ground, bruised and battered, he couldn't help but feel a surge of possessiveness and admiration.
How did I get so lucky?
Mike's thoughts raced as his eyes traced over your form, taking in the way you stood, strong and capable and in that moment, with you standing over him, your chest rising and falling with exertion, sweat glistening on your skin, he wanted nothing more than to pull you down to him, to feel you against him. He imagined pulling you close, his hands wandering, his lips finding yours, desperate and hungry.
"You're incredible, man" Mike said, his voice softer now, more intimate. "I mean... I always knew you were tough, but that-"
He was cut short when the sound of another window breaking snapped him back to reality.
Another Wendigo burst through it, moving with a terrifying speed. Its claws were outstretched, eyes wide and blind, as it lunged directly for you. The machete slipped from your grasp, clattering uselessly to the ground as the creature slammed into you, knocking you off your feet.
You hit the floor hard, the impact knocking the wind from your lungs. The Wendigo's claws raked across your side, leaving a fiery slash that tore through your flesh. You cried out, clutching your side as blood soaked through your shirt.
"NO!" Mike screamed, his voice raw with terror as he scrambled for the shotgun. The Wendigo grabbed you by the leg, its claws sinking into your skin as it began to drag you toward the window.
You thrashed against the creature's grip, panic flooding your senses. The pain from your wounds made it hard to focus. The Wendigo's strength was overwhelming, its bony fingers tightening around your leg as it pulled you closer to the jagged glass of the broken window. The debris on the floor slashing your skin in the process.
Mike was on his feet in an instant, the shotgun in his hands as he sprinted toward you, firing wildly at the wendigo. He kept shooting, missing a few times, the desperation clear in his voice as he cursed under his breath.
Your vision blurred from the pain, your limbs heavy and weak as you tried to fight back.
"Get off him!" Mike roared, his voice full of desperation as he fired again, this time hitting the creature square in the chest. The impact sent the Wendigo stumbling backward, its grip on you loosening just enough for Mike to reach you.
With a grunt of effort, Mike grabbed your arm, yanking you back to your feet and into the room. You collapsed onto the floor, your body trembling from the pain and adrenaline while Mike closed the door.
He was at your side in an instant, his hands hovering over your wounds, his face pale with fear.
They were deep. Three long, jagged cuts across your back, blood pooling beneath you.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" Mike cursed under his breath. His hands were shaking as he pressed them against the gashes in your side, trying to stem the bleeding, but there was so much blood.
The pain was unbearable, but seeing Mike like this hurt even more.
"Jesus, this is bad. God, I'm such an idiot." he muttered, his voice trembling.
You groaned in pain, the agony in your side intensifying with each passing second.
"Mike..." you croaked, trying to get his attention, but he wasn't listening. His hands were still pressing desperately against your wounds, blood staining his fingers as he kept cursing under his breath.
"This is my fault. I should've-fuck, I'm so fucking stupid. Why did I let you come here? Why didn't I-"
"Mike, stop..." you whispered, your voice weak from the pain.
But he wouldn't stop. He was spiraling, the guilt consuming him as he rocked back on his heels, his eyes glassy with unshed tears.
"We need to get out of here," Mike muttered to himself, his voice strained with desperation. He looked down at your injured form, his gaze flicking between your pale face and the blood soaking through your clothes.
The Wendigos were still out there and you were in no condition to run. Mike's mind raced as he tried to think of anything, anywhere, that might offer some kind of safety. His eyes darted toward the hallway as he recalled the old map he had found earlier, remembering the position of the nursery.
"There might be something there," he mumbled, more to himself than to you.
He leaned down and scooped you into his arms, cradling you as if you weighed nothing. You winced at the sudden movement, the pain in your side flaring up, but Mike's grip was steady, firm, holding you as if he was afraid to let go. He held you close, bridal style, your body pressed against his warm and sturdy chest as he began to move.
"I've got you" he muttered, his voice barely audible over the sound of your labored breathing.
His heart pounded in his chest as he carried you down the darkened hallways, the dim light of the flashlight casting long, eerie shadows across the walls. Every creak of the floorboards, every distant sound seemed like a threat, and Mike's grip on you tightened with each step. He refused to let you go.
"Just hold on," Mike said through gritted teeth, his eyes darting around the narrow hallways as he moved cautiously.
Your head rested against his chest, and you could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. It was pounding hard, faster than usual, fueled by adrenaline and fear. The pain in your side had dulled to a throbbing ache, and you couldn't help but notice how tense Mike's body was, every muscle coiled like a spring ready to snap.
"Mike" you managed to rasp out, the pain making your voice hoarse. "You're... freaking out."
"I'm not freaking out," he snapped, but the slight tremor in his voice betrayed him. He swallowed hard, his gaze flicking back to the path ahead, "I just... I need to get you fixed up. I need to-"
"Mike" You reached up, your hand weakly brushing against his chest, trying to calm him. "I'm not dying."
He didn't respond immediately, and when he did, his voice was low and shaky. "You don't know that."
You tried to force a smile, though it hurt to do so. "I've had worse."
"Yeah? When was the last time you were clawed by a fucking monster?" His eyes darted to yours, his fear masked by frustration. "You're bleeding all over the place, and it's my fault.
"It's not your fault," you said softly, trying to catch his gaze. "I chose to come with you"
"And I shouldn't have let you," Mike muttered, more to himself than to you. "I should've made you stay behind."
"You know I wouldn't have stayed behind," you replied, a weak smile tugging at your lips. "You can't get rid of me that easily."
His jaw clenched, and he didn't respond, his eyes fixed forward as he continued down the hallway, his arms never loosening their hold on you.
You didn't know how bad the injury was, but the blood that soaked through your clothes was enough to tell you it wasn't good.
You felt the world spinning slightly as he moved, your vision blurring at the edges. It was getting harder to stay awake, harder to keep focused on anything but the searing pain in your side. The sounds of the sanatorium echoed around you. All you could hear was the frantic beat of Mike's heart against your chest.
Your eyelids felt impossibly heavy. "Mike..." you whispered, your voice barely audible.
He snapped his head down to look at you, eyes wide and desperate. "Don't. Don't you dare close your eyes," he growled, his voice rough with panic. His arms tightened around you, almost painfully so, as he quickened his pace. "Stay with me, damn it. Stay awake. You hear me? You're not going anywhere."
But it was so hard to focus. The exhaustion was pulling you under like a heavy tide, dragging you down into the dark. Your eyelids fluttered, and you heard Mike curse again, his breath hitching. "Hey! No, no, no. Look at me. Look at me!" His voice was sharper now, laced with fear. "Stay awake. We're almost there. I swear, we're almost there."
The strain in his voice pulled you back, just for a moment, and you forced your eyes to open a little wider. His face was set in a scowl, but his eyes were wild, desperate.
Mike finally reached the nursery. It was a small, decrepit room, the paint on the walls peeling, and the furniture broken and scattered.
Mike set you down on one of the dirty beds as gently as he could, his hands trembling slightly as he pulled away. You winced again, the movement sending another sharp wave of pain through your body, but you forced yourself to stay quiet.
He hurried to the other side of the room, his eyes scanning the shelves and cabinets for anything that might help. He found an old, dusty first aid kit, half-hidden beneath a pile of debris.
Mike knelt beside you, his hands still shaking as he opened the kit. Inside were a few old bandages, a small bottle of alcohol and a torn-up sheet that he could use as makeshift bandages. He tore the fabric with his teeth.
It wasn't much, but it was all he had.
The silence between the two of you was heavy as he peeled off your shirt. Mike's hands hovered over your wounds, his face twisted in concentration at the deep gashes torn into your side.
He poured the alcohol onto the wounds, the stinging sensation making you clench your teeth to keep from crying out. He was doing his best to be gentle, but the pain was still excruciating.
"Shit... sorry... I'm sorry," Mike kept repeating under his breath, his eyes flicking between the injuries and your face. He looked as though he was about to break, his guilt consuming him.
"If you wanted to get my shirt off, all you had to do was ask." You said, your voice soft despite the pain radiating through your side.
He didn't smile, didn't give you that sarcastic comeback you had been hoping for. His jaw was still set, his lips pressed into a thin line as he focused on wrapping the gauze around your waist.
"Don't joke about this," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "You're bleeding everywhere, and I-"
"I'm serious!" you interrupted, forcing a grin through the pain. "If you wanted to play the hero, you could've just asked. You didn't have to engage in a whole monster attack just to impress me."
He refused to look you in the eye, his jaw clenched as he muttered something under his breath, too quiet for you to make out.
You saw the fear and guilt etched into his face. He was scared. More scared than you'd ever seen him before. His focus was singular, driven by the overwhelming need to fix the damage, to keep you alive.
The usual cocky, confident air that surrounded Mike was gone, replaced by a quiet panic that seemed to consume him.
You knew you had to say something. Mike was drowning in guilt, and if you didn't pull him out of it, he might never forgive himself.
Time to try again.
"Come on, Mike," you said, your tone playful despite the situation. "You're not enjoying the fact that I'm shirtless in front of you? I thought this was, like, your dream scenario. You, me, a creepy sanatorium, and a lot of body contact."
You were expecting at least a flicker of amusement, a quirk of the lips, anything that showed he was still the Mike you knew. But there was nothing. His silence only made the fear gnaw at you more.
Your hand reached out to gently touch his arm. "Mike, I'm serious. You saved me. You're the reason I'm still here, okay?"
His shoulders tensed under your touch, and he finally looked up at you, his expression conflicted. You could see the guilt still etched into his features, the self-loathing that twisted his mouth into a grimace.
"But you still got hurt," Mike snapped, his voice rising slightly with the weight of his emotions. His hands clenched into fists, the bandage half-finished as he pulled away, unable to look at you. "I wasn't fast enough. I should've... I should've done more."
"Done more?" You raised an eyebrow, trying to inject a little more lightness into your voice. "What were you supposed to do, Mike? Punch the Wendigo in the face? Because I'd like to see that."
For a brief moment, you thought you saw the ghost of a smile tug at the corner of his lips, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.
"Hey," you said softly, reaching out again to touch his arm, this time gripping it a little tighter. "Look at me."
He hesitated, his jaw tightening, but after a moment, he turned his head toward you, his eyes meeting yours.
"I'm still here," you said quietly, your voice filled with as much reassurance as you could muster. "Thanks to you."
Mike's eyes flickered with something, some internal struggle playing out behind them.
"For a guy who spends half his time flexing and trying to show off his heroics," you began, leaning back slightly on the bed, wincing a little as the pain in your side flared up. "You're really bad at taking credit when you actually save someone."
That got a reaction. Mike's brows furrowed slightly, and he glanced at you, confusion mixed with frustration.
"I'm just saying," you continued, pretending to be casual as you gestured with your hand, the blood on it had now dried up. "You've got the whole 'tough guy' thing down, but when you actually do something heroic, like, I don't know, saving my life, you act like it wasn't enough."
Mike's frown deepened, but this time there was a spark of something familiar in his eyes, something like the Mike you knew.
"Not everything is a joke, okay?" Mike muttered, though there was a hint of exasperation in his voice now.
You grinned. "I know it's not a joke, Mike. I'm just trying to remind you that you're not a screw-up. I know you're used to making dumb decisions, but this wasn't one of them."
For a brief moment, Mike looked like he was going to argue, but then he let out a quiet, exasperated huff. His lips twitching in a way that told you he was fighting back a smirk.
"There he is," you teased lightly, your grin widening. "I knew you were still in there somewhere."
Mike's shoulders relaxed slightly, and for the first time since the attack, his expression softened. He shook his head, finally finishing the bandage on your side. The corner of his lips tugged upward as he tried to suppress a smile, a trace of his usual cocky confidence returning.
"You're an idiot," Mike muttered, but there was a warmth in his voice that hadn't been there before. He met your eyes again, the weight of the guilt starting to lift.
"I had to learn from the best," you shot back playfully. "You're pretty good at being an idiot yourself."
Mike chuckled softly, a sound that sent warmth through your chest despite the pain. "Yeah, well... guess I can't argue with that."
You leaned back against the pillow, the tension in the room finally easing. Mike's usual sarcastic demeanor was starting to slip back into place.
"I never really thought I'd spend a night in a creepy-ass sanatorium being patched up by a guy who probably spent his teenage years trying to impress girls with bad one-liners." You said, trying to keep the conversation going.
Mike snorted, shaking his head. "First of all, my one-liners were legendary. They even had you blushing when I dropped them on you. Second, I'm pretty sure I'm saving your life right now, so maybe a little more appreciation, huh?"
"Oh, believe me, I appreciate it," you replied with a grin. "But you have to admit, this is pretty far from a normal night out."
"Yeah, well, normal's overrated," Mike said, his tone lighter now. He sighed, running a hand through his hair, his eyes lingering on the bandage he had just finished tying around your waist. "But... seriously. I'm glad you're okay."
That fear hadn't fully left him yet.
"I'm okay because of you." you said, your voice softer now, more serious. You sat on the bed, looking up at him and wrapping your arms around his neck.
Your lips were sealed tight so you wouldn’t produce any sound of the pain still lingering.
Mike met your gaze again, his expression conflicted, torn between the guilt that still lingered and the relief that you were alive. He opened his mouth to say something, but the words seemed to catch in his throat. Instead, he just stared at you, his eyes dark with emotion.
Without warning, he leaned down, his hands gripping your face with a force that nearly made you gasp. His lips crashed into yours with a desperation that took you completely by surprise. The kiss was rough, almost violent in its intensity, his breath was hot and ragged, each exhale trembling with the intensity of the emotions he was trying to keep in check.
His tongue pushed past your lips with an almost feral hunger. The roughness of his tongue mirrored the intensity of his kiss, his movements sharp and demanding, as if he couldn't get close enough to you, couldn't feel enough of you. His tongue explored your mouth, not gently, but with a wild fervor that made your heart race and your body tremble under him.
You responded instinctively, your arms tightening around the back of his neck, pulling him closer, your body aching yet craving the connection he was giving you. His weight pressed down on you more as the kiss deepened.
His breath grew hotter, more frantic. His fingers tightened on your skin, almost painful, like he was terrified to let go, his tongue still working against yours, desperate to drown out any space between you. You could feel his desperation in every frantic breath, his rough kisses stealing away any sense of time as he devoured you.
His hands slipping from your face to tangle in your hair, pulling you closer, needing more.
Needing you.
You could feel the heat of his breath as he pulled back only for a fraction of a second before diving back in, his lips pressing into yours with renewed force.
Your lungs burned as the kiss deepened further, but you didn't care. All you could focus on was him. On the raw, unfiltered emotion in every press of his lips, every tremor of his hands. Mike's hands roamed your body, careful to avoid your injury, but firm enough to hold you in place. His breath was hot against your skin as he kissed you with a kind of hunger that sent shivers down your spine.
When he finally pulled back, his forehead rested against yours, both of you gasping for breath. His eyes were dark, clouded with emotion, his lips slightly swollen from the intensity of the kiss. His hands still cradled your face, thumbs brushing softly against your skin as though trying to calm himself after the storm he had unleashed.
His breath was shaky, his body trembling slightly as he looked at you with a mixture of relief. "I promise. I won't let anything happen to you." he whispered, his voice hoarse.
No matter what would happen next, you had Mike. And Mike had you.
And that was enough.

what types of places all the UD cast would fuck in? More to less risky? Love your works ❤️❤️!!
love this- will be short because i have immediate thoughts on this LMFOQJF
warnings: public sex, mike is a fucking freak ass mf...josh is worse HAHA- uhh idk spit i guess!?... probs forgetting smth per usual!
Boys!:
Mike: Risk central. yep. he loves that shit- fuck i imagine Josh catching you two fucking in like the bathroom after you two made the excuse of taking a bath together which.. i mean.. isn't totally wrong... but you ended up bent over the edge of the massive tub "forgetting" to lock the door... whoops i guess
Josh: He likes the risk because he likes seeing you scared and whimpering "we're gonna get caught!" and in his head hes just like yeah... yeah hunny thats the point. definitely fucked you in the movie room with a gorey movie on in the back while everyone is asleep upstairs- making you try to keep quiet 😵💫
Chris: he's more ballsy- he would let you sit on his lap with his cock stuffed inside you while you desperately try to not squirm and make any type of indication to what was happening while maybe hanging out with Josh or smth kmfgwhfj maybe even have you ride his dick while he games and has his headset on your head with the mic on full blast to see if you either break infront of the guys or can cum quietly enough jjsjsjd
Matt: definitely more on the tame side when it comes to public stuff. Not to say he doesn't like some risk sometimes tho...he's more into like subtly fingering you or you giving him a handjob wjjsjdj. i feel like matt would be the type to wanna do some stuff in the wilderness yk?? like maybe mutuql masturbation in a not to secluded area up at the lodge ehehhehe
girls!:
Jess: yeah. atp just eat her out infront of everyone ??? jk jk no-- unless? off topic sorrz! anyways, yeah she digs that shit soo much she loves when you ask her to wear skirts w/out panties so you can feel her up where ever whenever you want too- links hand in hand with the free use thing...she is the type to probably enjoy a remote controlled vibe and going shopping with friends and then you dragging her off to the mall bathroom and fucking her to tears and her then havibg to fix her makeup and complain about it as if she didnt love it 😭
Emily: She likes to publicly tease you, esp infront of the guys (BISEXUALS RISE UP) she likes the risk bcus she likes to embarrass you lets all be serious rn. (maybe even have you ride a strap while she makes Mike watch OJAHOSH LET ME STOP THERE-)
Ashley: she likes risk! but like matt, definitely is less inclined to it if its full sex. she also likes hand stuff. id say she wouldnt mind fingering eachother and making out in the room next to someone's who they want to make jealous or smth tehehe
Sam: the least out of them all to be into the risk, but if its the occasional over the clothing touching to tease before she takes you home to royally fuck you? ohhooo yes maam she digs that. She would definitely like to invite another gal or guy to help tease you through out the day like at the mall, or the movie theater jsjs
NEED THEM ALL!

Until Dawn- By Your Side: Chapter Two, Promise
(Joshua Washington X Reader)
[One] [Two] [Three]
“I hope this was the right thing to do.” Sam quietly says, it seemed like it was supposed to be to herself. Chris and I give her a confused expression. “What?” He questions.
“You know, getting everyone together on the anniversary.” She explains further. “I mean Josh seemed really pumped about us all doing something didn’t he.” She starts but it was more of a question in the back of her mind. I just look at her with the same expression I’ve held. “Yeah, no, he definitely did.” Chris assures her. “I haven’t seen him so excited about something in… forever.” He continues, Sam looks at me to see if that’s true and I nod my head. “Good, good.”
“It’s hard to tell with him, and I’ve kinda been worried. Only hearing updates through [Name] or you.” Sam tells the blond as I notice her avoiding eye contact with me. I mean she has every right to feel worried about him but why is she acting sort of weird with me right now. “No, no, it was a good idea.” He tells her.
“I hope everybody else feels the same way.” She whispers. “we’re here aren’t we?” I add in, leaning back. “Well thanks bros, good talk.” She playfully punches both of us. “You know what? Let’s just stop talking about what happened and enjoy the trip.” Chris suddenly tells us. “You know what? You’re right.” Sam sighs.
“You know how Josh and I met?” He switches the subject and I smile, remembering it’s because of me that we all met. “No…?”
“Ok, [Name] became my friend in second grade. Neither of us remember how or when that happened but suddenly we were just friends. In third grade Josh sat in the back of the room, I sat in the front and [Name] was also in the back with Josh. She instantly talked with him and they became friends but somehow Josh and I never knew each other existed. But the kid sitting on the other side of him started strap snapping the training bra on the girl in front of him so the teacher made him move to the front- where I was sitting.” He smiles, and I lean back, listening even though I lived through it. It’s nice to hear. “Okay, so?” Sam asks.
“So I got moved to the back!” He exclaims. “And?”
“And next to Josh, that’s how we met! And us three became friends. To this day. Well [Name] and Josh a bit more than friends now.” He chuckles, pushing me closer to Sam and I roll my eyes, shoving him back. “A match made in heaven.” Sam smirks, “Josh and Chris definitely are.” I say, laughing. Chris scoffs.
“If it weren’t for the fact that Jeanie Simmonds hit puberty like three years early and on that day decided to wear a low cut shirt that showed off her training bra. I mean who knows? You could be riding in this cable car alone or with just [Name].” He pulls out a hypothetical and I shake my head. “Right now. Or talking to some other person or persons entirely. Boom: Butterfly effect.” He does a mic drop motion with his hand. “You’re so dramatic, Chris.” I sigh.
The cable car gets to our destination and we climb out. We try to open the door but it doesn’t budge. It had been a couple minutes of trying to get the stupid thing to open. “Jessica, over here!” Sam suddenly calls and I stay in the back after hearing my sister’s name. We were supposed to come here together but after I found out she’s going after Mike, we had a huge argument and I want nothing to do with her. “Uh… are you guys having a really weird stroke?” Jess asks them.
“We’re stuck in this stupid thing.” Chris answers her. “Can you please let us out? Pretty please?” Sam asks.
“Jess, don’t play a dumb prank either, just hurry up.” I tell her, annoyed. She ignores me and presses the button, letting us out. “Oh, my God. I thought we were goners. Another ten minutes in there and I would have chewed off my own leg.” Chris exasperates. “Aw, sick, Chris.” Sam mutters. “Like I said before, you’re dramatic.” I fold my arms over my chest. “Look I got a lot of meat on my bones. This is all muscle down here.” He explains and I just walk away from them. I hear them talk about Jessica having a crush on Mike. Jessica telling them about how she’s with him.
I take my phone out and text my boyfriend. Wondering if he’s got everything set up. I don’t get a response though.
I walk behind everyone as we make our way up to the lodge until I find my way back to Chris and Sam who’s weirdly being quiet. “Chugger gonna make her big come back this weekend?” He asks me and I glare up at him. “Again with this?” I groan, both of us stop walking and I place my hands on my hips as I stand in front of him. “I’m just saying Josh found her pretty hot.” He puts his hands up defensively.
“Chris, we’re 20 years old now, Chugger no longer exists. Plus Josh still finds me hot. Obviously because we’re dating.” I scrunch my nose, irritated on this being a conversation once again. He goes to say something but has a smirk tied to his lips, I glance to Sam who was looking behind me.
Suddenly arms wrap around my waist and I’m lifted up into the air. I let out a squeal, kicking my feet. “Woah!” I get placed back on the ground and then spun around.
“Hello, my beautiful darling.” It was Josh, he pulls me into his arms and I hear him sniff my hair. I let out a laugh. “Hi, my love.” I look up and he kiss my lips. “Where have you been?” I ask him.
“Oh you know, around. Setting everything up. Or at least trying to.” He frowns. “Hm, I tried texting you.” I pull away from him.
“Sorry, haven’t really been on it much with all the running around.” He rubs the back of his head. I stare at him, my face scrunched with confusion. He’s acting weird. He gives me a wink and I roll my eyes.
We get to the stairs of the lodge.
“Man I feel like this mountain gets bigger every time I climb it.” Chris complains, he keeps walking behind me and kicking the heel of my shoe. “Oh yeah? Feels the same to me.” Josh says, grabbing my hand. “Oh come on, you grew up here. It probably feels like it’s shrinking.” Chris huffs.
“I guess that’s true.” Josh smiles, squeezing my hand. “When are you gonna install some cell towers up here? I’m getting withdrawals already.” The blond criticizes the mountain, lifting his phone in the air to try to get some sort of service.
“You got a spare million lying around and I’ll fix you right up.” Josh jokes, chuckling to himself and I smile. “Funny you should say that…” He checks his pockets as we start walking once again. “Ah I think I left it in my other jacket.” Chris points back. “Oops.” Josh shrugs. “Darn, that sucks.” I snap my fingers.
“Hey guys… Get up here okay?” Josh questions the rest of the group ahead of us.
“Yeah… well, more or less. But it’s so good to see you!” Ashley smiles to my boyfriend and then makes eye contact with me, giving a big grin. I’ve always loved Ashley. She’s a sweetheart. I’m iffy about her after the prank but Josh keeps telling me the twins would’ve wanted me to forgive them. It feels like I should be telling him that. In the beginning his anger was strong…
“Sup with him?” Josh motions to an upset looking Matt. Matt just looks away, I let out a breath. “Let’s just get inside.” I whisper, tugging Josh to come up the stairs.
“Yo yo yo! Are we gonna get things moving up here or what?” Chris asks Josh. “Yeah man!” He smiles.
He grips my hand once again and I look up at him. Wondering why he keeps doing that. “Hey… you doin’ alright?” Our friend gets serious, my eyes soften and lean closer into my boyfriend. Wanting to know the same thing even though I’m with him so much. His mind can go everywhere sometimes. “I mean I know it must be really tough without your sis-“
“Stop.” Josh warns him, letting go of my hand. “I just meant that-“
“No I know what you meant. You know seriously I’m over it and I just want us to have a good time, you know? Like we always used to.” Josh turns away from us and I frown, I know he’s not okay. I don’t know why he said he’s over it. He doesn’t have to be over it.
Chris nods his head though, “Right, Chugger could come out like she used to. But she won’t budge through this facade.” Chris pokes my side.
“Shut up about the Chugger thing already.” I throw my head back, jokingly gripping my head. “If my lady says no Chugger, that means no Chugger, sir.” Josh points a finger in our best friend’s face with a smile. Turning back around to try and open the door. “Dammit, this freaking thing.” He curses.
“It’s iced?” I ask. “What else.”
“Maybe there’s another way in.” Chris suggests. “There are a million ways in. They’re just all locked.” Josh continues to try with the door. “There’s gotta be, like, a window round the corner we can get like, get open or something.” Chris tells my boyfriend who stands up straighter at his idea.
“Wait a second, are you saying we should break in?” He questions Chris. “I don’t think it’s technically breaking in if you own the place, right?” Chris laughs.
“Hey, not if I don’t report you.” Josh jokes, making our friend nervous. “Lead the way, Cochise!” He motions him to go back down the stairs.
Once we get down Chris talks to Ashley. Josh and I watching the scene, his hand finds his way back to mine and I feel a kiss on my jawline. “I missed you.” He whispers in my ear and I smile. “I saw you three days ago.” I keeps my eyes looking ahead of me. “Three days too long.” He pulls me closer to him, kissing my neck making me laugh because it tickles.
“All right, all right, love birds. Keep it moving!” Chris orders us, shooing at us like we were cattle or a flock of birds. Instead of arguing we move it. Wanting to get inside. “Ashley was looking pretty hot today, right?” I teasingly ask the blond.
“Yeah if you don’t hit I’m sure Mike will get on that case.” Josh tells him, I pinch his hand, thinking that was a little too far. “Hey, cut it out you two.” Chris shakes his head but doesn’t lock eye contact with us. “Re-laaax I’m just checkin’ to see if there’s some blood flowin’ down there.” Josh laughs. “Tsk yeah…”
“Listen dude. Look around you. Look at these beautiful mountains. Do you see any parents?” Josh even takes a glance around him as he instructed our friend to do the same. “I mean can you imagine a more perfect, ripe scenario, just dripping with erotic possibilities? You, and Ashley, alone at last…” Josh makes up a hypothetical and I can see how these two are best friends. “You’ve laid all the groundwork… you’ve been a perfect gentleman. Now you come in for the kill!” Josh dramatically tells him. I let out a sigh at this awful conversation.
“Maybe you’re right.” Chris smiles.
“You’re a hunter bro. No fear. No mercy. I mean she won’t even know what hit her.” We walk around him and start back up to get to another way inside the lodge. “Alright, alright. I got it. Jeez.”
“You’re gross, Joshua.” I gently push him, he snickers pushing my back but we’re still holding hands. “You know I’m only messing.” He stops us to kiss me on the lips before continuing again.
“So how are we planning on breaking in to my parents lodge, bud?” Josh asks Chris. “Wait, I didn’t say I had a plan-“
“You sounded like you had a plan.” I chime in, Josh hums, agreeing with me. “You better deliver, Cochise, or else you got five lovely ladies who are gonna be freezing their bus off and last time I checked, that’s not a good way to get laid.” Josh tells him, playfully squeezing my hand and I scoff.
“All you think about is your penis.” I mumble. “Mm, maybe.” He whispers back to me. “well shoot, nobody likes cool buns.” Chris says.
Chris walks over to where an emergency axe should be but he lets out a disappointing sounding “oh.” Then he goes over to a cupboard? “Well well well. We got ourselves a thinker. Nice one.” Josh pats the thing, letting go of my hand. They push it over to the closest window. I watch them do the work.
“Who’s gonna get in there first?” Chris jokingly asks us. I shrug my shoulders. “if you want, I can do it.” I offer but Josh immediately pulls me back shaking his head in disagreement. “No, no, let Chris go.” He tells me, I look to Chris who waves it off. Climbing on the thing.
He lifts the window open and climbs inside the building. We hear a thud and him groan afterwards. I wince. “C’mon.” Josh lifts himself up and then helps me beside him but there’s barely any room. “Ugh, I’m okay!” Chris moans. “I should’ve pain more attention in climbing class…” He talks to himself. “You mean gym?” Josh furrows his brows as I laugh.
“Yeah, you know, with the climbing up the rope.” He stands up from the ground and then the light in the room shatters. “whoa.” Josh steps back, I almost slip but I catch myself. “Did I do that?” Chris asks.
“I don’t… I don’t think so. Here, use this.” Josh throws him a lighter. “Whoa- Chris, I just got an awesome idea.”
“Yeah?”
“Totally!”
“Well what is it?” Chris asks, looking up to us. “Okay. So I am pretty sure that I’ve got some deodorant in one of the bathrooms… you could use that with the lighter.” Josh tells him. “I don’t follow. How’s a stick of deodorant gonna help?”
“Spray on. It’s a can.” Josh corrects him. “Ohhh yeah, now I gotcha. “Flamethrower.”
“Just like we do with the lil army dudes.” Chris excitedly remembers and I wince at the memory. The smell of the plastic burning in my nose. “Yup. The ones we melted. Just point the spray-can at the lighter and Fwoosh!” Josh flings his arms up, almost knocking me before he grabbed onto my waist quickly. “Bye-bye frozen lock.” Chris chuckles. “Bingo.” Josh looks to the side. “Alright, so you got this. I’m gonna go sort something out- you up for hunting around in the dark for a little bit?” He asks Chris, I’m confused on what he has to sort out.
“Nope. But I’ll do it.” The blond shrugs. “Godspeed pil’grim.” Josh salutes to him before jumping down and then motioning for me to get on his back. “In the snow?” I nervously ask.
“Yes, I got you.” He says. “I… okay.” I slowly get onto his back and I feel his hands grip my thighs immediately. He makes his way back to the front of the lodge. Sam and Ashley were still sitting there. “I gotta go do something, I’ll be back.” He pats my thigh and I jump down.
“Joshua, where are you going?” I ask him in a quiet tone, we were a few feet away from the stairs still. “Just a sorting out a surprise for everyone.” He doesn’t look me in the eye and I fold my arms across my chest. “You’re acting strange, love.” I tell him.
“I’ll tell you later, I promise.” He puts his hands on my hips, pulling me closer to him. “You promise?” I raise my brows, he smiles. “Of course.” He gives me a long kiss before letting me go.
I go over to Ashley and Sam who are huddled up together. “Where’s Chris?” Ashley asks and I laugh. “He’s in the house, gonna open the door for us.” I inform them, sitting with them.
“Where’d Josh head to?” Sam speaks up and I glance off to the direction he was heading. “Um, I don’t actually know. He told me he would tell me later.” I frown, now feeling myself getting colder. “Weird.” She mumbles.
“Let’s go over to the door so we can get that fire started as soon as possible.” I pat both of them and we stand up. Walking up the stairs to the front door.
