You Didn't Know? (Adam X Seraphim Reader)

In the celestial realm of Heaven, where ethereal beauty and divine beings reigned, lived a Seraphim angel named (Y/N). She had the sacred duty of caring for the children who had passed away and ascended to this heavenly abode. (Y/N) was a compassionate and gentle soul, radiating a warm light that comforted the departed souls in her care.

In this divine paradise, an unexpected love story unfolded between (Y/N) and Adam, the first man created by the Almighty. Adam, despite being the progenitor of humanity, had a penchant for mischief and a reputation for being a total prick. Yet, somehow, the celestial forces intertwined their destinies, and love blossomed between the seemingly mismatched pair.

After a few hundred years of dating, the two got married in Heaven. It was a beautiful wedding, and Adam didn't have to worry about losing his third and final wife to Lucifer, since she couldn't leave Heaven.

One day. when Lucifer's Daughter, Princess Charlie Morningstar. Came into Heaven for a meeting; (Y/N), Sera, and Emily greeted her at the gates of Heaven. "Greetings daughter of the Morningstar. I am Sera, the high seraphim of Heaven. You're gifted to be here." Emily squealed and walked up to Charlie.

"Hi! I'm Emily, the other seraphim. You can call Em, Emi, E, whatever you want. I go by anything." Emily giggled nervously, she wanted to say more but (Y/N) stopped her and put her hand on Emily's shoulder. "Emily. We talked about this; we don't want to scare them off, now do we?" (Y/N) turned to Charlie. "Hello Princess. My name is (Y/N), I'm the other, other seraphim. It is our duty and pleasure to welcome you to Heaven."

(Y/N) and Emily showed Charlie and her girlfriend Vaggie around Heaven for a short while. (Y/N) even led and showed them to their room where they would be staying until the trail.

It wasn't until then that Charlie noticed her wedding ring, she found it strange since Sera, nor Emily had a ring. "(Y/N), may I ask you a question?" "Of course, Princess. Ask me anything?" (Y/N) said with a smile. "Are you married? Because I noticed that ring on your finger and none of the seraphim's have it." (Y/N) looked at her ring finger, she smiled as a wave of nostalgia hit her.

She remembered how Adam confessed his love to her, the day he proposed to (Y/N), and the day they got married. All of Heaven showed up, Adam removed his mask for that day, Sera walked (Y/N) down the aisle, Emily was her maid of honor, and God himself was the one that pronounced them husband and wife.

"Yes, I am married. My husband and I have been for about almost 100 years now." Charlie's eye lit up with joy, "Oh~. And who is this lucky guy, hm?" (Y/N) chuckled and walked to the door. "You'll see him, I'll be sitting next to him during the trail. Good luck to you both." (Y/N) said and closed the door behind her.

*A few hours later*

As the trail was about to start, Charlie and Vaggie took their seats, while (Y/N) flew and sat down next her husband Adam and his friend Lute. "Hey babe." Adam said and gave (Y/N) a kiss on her check. Charlie started to (Y/N) in shock, and all (Y/N) could give was a little smile and shrug her shoulders.

Charlie leaned to Vaggie. "I didn't know such an asshole like him HAD a wife."

After everyone was here Sera spoke "We're gathered here today to determine whether or not a soul in Hell, can be redeemed into heavenly realm by means of this 'Hazbin hotel', Princess Morningstar?", Sera said wanting Charlie to speak up.

(Y/N) looked down to Charlie, holding hands with her husband underneath the booth. "Webster's dictionary defines redemption as-" before Charlie could speak Adam interrupts her "Objection, lame and unoriginal". (Y/N) sighed at his immature behavior and let go of his hand and bumped his chest gently with her elbow.

"Sustained. No further dictionary references please." Sera asked with a kinda sad look. "Right." Charlie was flipping through her cards making Adam roll his eyes. "If you have actually evidence, then show it already." He asks, glaring at Charlie. "We have a patron right now and he's making incredible progress."

Charlie defended and (Y/N) smiled, "Really? Then tell us Princess, who is this lucky patron?", (Y/N) asked. "Angel Dust" Charlie spoke. "Oh yeah, the porn demon. Yeah, he's totally worth being redeemed". (Y/N) looked at Adam. "Adam! Language!" Adam gave (Y/N) a confused look. "What?"

(Y/N) suddenly stood up, "Well then, if you know so much…what do you think it takes to get into heaven?", she spoke. It was quiet until Sera asked if Adam was okay.

He scoffed as he pulled out a golden paper from his pockets and a quill, "Give me a fucking moment, okay?", he then started writing and gave Vaggie the paper as she read it out loud, "Act selfless, don't steal, stick it to the man?", (Y/N) looked at Adam with a raised eyebrow and sat back down. He shrugged "Uh, yeah? Sure, got me here...didn't it? Right babe? Sera?", Adam ask as he looked his wife then Sera, seemingly questioning himself. Sera sighed before saying: "He was the first human soul in heaven."

In the following hours Charlie showed everyone the improvement of this soul called Angel dust. He did everything what Adam wrote on his list. He was selfless, he stopped one of his friends from stealing, and he stuck it to that awful man called Valentino, but nothing happened. Sera only sighed as she wanted to declare the trail as a failure and that we will see what brings someone to heaven when the first soul arrives. (Y/N) sat there with my head hanging.

She felt bad for Angel Dust, Charlie, and all of the other demons who wanted to try and make themselves better, especially when she looked over to Emily, who held the paper that Adam had written earlier with a sad look.

(Y/N) and Emily had always been very close, they considered each other to like sisters. Which why (Y/N) had asked her to be her maid of honor at her wedding, and if the time came, (Y/N) would be Emily's maid of honor when she would meet that special person.

Emily: But she was right, Sera. She showed us a soul can improve.

(Y/N): (Y/N) stood up again and flew next to Emily) He saw the light, Sera.

Emily: Checked all the boxes that you said would prove a person deserves a second chance.

(Y/N) Emily flew around the court room.)

(Y/N): Now we turn our backs, no second glance?

Sera: It's not as simple as you think.

(Y/N) and Emily looked up and Sera and flew up to her.)

Sera: Not everything is spelled in ink.

(Sera held (Y/N) and Emily's hands.)

Charlie: It's not fair, Sera!

(Vaggie places a hand on Charlie's shoulder)

Vaggie: Careful, Charlie, keep a cool head.

(Charlie pulls away)

Charlie: No! Don't you care, Sera? That just because someone is dead, it doesn't mean they can't resolve to change their ways turn the page, escape infernal blaze.

(Y/N) and Emily were on each side of Sera while still flying the air.)

Sera: I'm sure you wish it could be so. But there's a lot that you don't know.

(Lute interrupts Sera.)

Lute: What are we even talking' about? Some crack-whore who fucked up already? He blew his shot, like the cocks in his mouth. This discussion is senseless and petty.

(Adam and Lute flew to Charlie, as Adam held her face.)

Lute and Adam: There's no question to be posed! He's unholy, case closed. Did you forget that Hell is forever?

(Lute and Adam, flew on top of the crystal ball)

Adam: A man only lives once; we'll see you in one month. Gotta say, I can't wait to…

(Adam flew off the crystal ball and stood Infront of Charlie,)

Sera: Adam…

(Sera's eye widened but she was interrupted by Adam.)

Adam: Come down and exterminate you.

(Y/N) and Emily's eyes widened.)

Emily and (Y/N): Wait!

Adam: Shit…

(Y/N) and Emily flew down in front of the crystal ball)

Emily: What are you saying? Let me get this straight.

(Y/N): You go down there and kill those poor souls?

Charlie: You didn't know?

Adam: Whoops

Lute: Guess the cat’s out of the bag.

Adam: What’s the big deal?

(Y/N) looked up at Sera)

(Y/N): Sera, tell us that you didn't know…

Sera: I thought, since I'm older it's my load to shoulder

Emily: No!

(Y/N) put her hand on Emily's back for comfort)

Sera: You both have to listen; it was such a hard decision.

(Sera flew down to (Y/N) and Emily)

Sera: I wanted to save you; the anguish it takes to do what was required.

(Sera held (Y/N) and Emily's hands, she had flames in her eyes. (Y/N) and Emily looked at Sera with shock for a moment, until their looks turned angry.)

(Y/N): To think that we admired you, well we don't need your condescension.

(Y/N) and Emily tore their hands away from Sera, while they both flew in the air.)

Emily: Were both not children to protect! Was talk of virtue just pretension?

(Y/N) looked at Adam, who gave a worried look, she flew Infront of him.)

Adam: Babe listen-

(Y/N): Was I too naive to expect you to heed the morals you're purveying?

(Y/N) flew away from Adam, who had sadness in his eyes. She flew next to Charlie and Emily.)

Charlie: That's what the fuck I've been saying!

(Chalie held (Y/N) and Emily's hands. They flew on top on the crystal ball.)

Emily, Charlie & (Y/N): If Hell is forever, then Heaven must be a lie!

(Adam and Sera were trying to talk to them. But Emily and (Y/N) wouldn't listen.)

Sera: Girls

Adam: (Y/N)

Emily, Charlie & (Y/N): If angels can do whatever and remain in the sky. The rules are shades of gray, when you don't do as you say. When you make the wretched suffer just to kill them again.

Charlie: I was told not to trust in angels.

(Filled with rage that Charlie had turned his wife against him, he decided to reveal Vaggie secret.)

Adam: By her?

Lute: Ha! She should know.

Vaggie: We should go.

Charlie: No! Don't you see? We've come so close. Look at them fighting, they're at each other's throats.

Adam: Don't you act all high and mighty. Did you ever think your little girlfriend might be a liar?

Vaggie: Don't, Adam please!

Adam: What's the fuss? Why hide the fact that you're an angel just like us?

(The Crystal ball revealed Vaggie's old look as an exorcist angel. Charlie stared at it in shock, and fell to the floor)

*End of the song*

(Y/N) looked at Adam with disgust in her eyes, Adam looked at (Y/N) but his smirk was quickly feeling off his face when he saw (Y/N) with a disappointed look.

He tried to reach out and explain, but (Y/N) stopped him and flew up next to Emily and Sera. Sera had to breath in out to collect herself, she then spoke. "I'm sorry, but the court finds there is no evidence that souls in Hell can be redeemed."

(Y/N) and Emily were disappointed, they looked at each other with worry. Adam then stated that when the extermination comes, he's coming to Charlie's Hotel first. He snaps his fingers causing Vaggie and Charlie to be sent back to Hell

"Charlie don't give up on this!" (Y/N) said from above as Emily chimed in "We will figure something out, we promise!" (Y/N) held Emily in her arms, trying to comfort her. "That was uncalled for Adam." Sera said will looking down at him. "Yeah, but did you see the looks on their fucking faces." Adam said while laughing, but it stopped when he saw (Y/N) disappointed face again.

Adam face softened for a moment, "Sorry." That was thing said until he flew up Infront of (Y/N) face while she was still comforting Emily.

"I'll see you at home tonight, right babe?" Adam said while putting his hand on (Y/N)'s face. (Y/N) just pushed his hand away. "You shouldn't expect me to be home tonight... or any night for that matter." Adam wanted to try and convince (Y/N) to come home, but he knew it would be a bad idea with other seraphim's watching.

He flew away, leaving (Y/N) with Emily and Sera. It was a short silence when (Y/N) released Emily from her grasp. Emily spoke, "Extermination of human souls. Demon or not there is no reason to be doing this."

Sera spoke, as they eye of her hair and halo opened. "They were upraising, girls. It is my position as the head Seraphim to protect these souls at all costs."

Sera's eyes closed as she placed her hands on (Y/N) and Emily's shoulders. "It is your job to keep them happy and joyful and (Y/N)'s to care for the children of Heaven." "How can we fulfill our jobs when we now know that were causing so much pain to souls down in Hell. And me knowing that my husband is keeping secrets from me, his wife." (Y/N) said.

Sera quickly had answer for it. She told (Y/N) and Emily to let her about this and told them to go back to their jobs.

That night, (Y/N) made true to her word and refused to come home. Adam laid on the bed that he and (Y/N) shared, waiting for his wife to come home so he could explain himself. He never meant to keep secrets from her, he just wanted to protect her and everyone else in Heaven.

And despite his fuckboy nature, Adam really and truly loved (Y/N) and would anything for her. Even if it meant killing demons just to protect her.

There had barely been even a chance to breathe, let alone greet Chobei when he arrived back home from the latest raid, his scarred hands immediately pulling at your clothes as he moved you back to the bed.

"I missed you while you were gone," You said through a shaking breath as he lined himself up with your dripping entrance.

"More" He said with a growl as he thrust himself in till his balls were pressed against you. "Fuck". The sharp gasp pulled from your chest was stolen by his lips, thin tears running down your cheeks at the pressured feeling of him nearly in your stomach. The size of him was something you didn't know if you would ever be used to, the feeling of him throbbing so deep inside of you you knew no one would be able to replicate it. The ruthless pace he set had you crying out, nails digging into his back as he forced your velvet walls to take him. All of him. Your head was swimming and so fuzzy with burning liquid pleasure that you didn't notice the strong hands snaking their way up to grip your throat and just slightly cut off the flow of oxygen.

"You look so good with my hands wrapped around your neck" He said with a grin, leaning down to kiss the thin stream of drool running past the corner of your lips, a ragged pull of air just able to slip past his grip to fill your lungs. You could only moan in reply as he slowed his thrusts slightly, watching your face flush and your eyes roll back at the steady almost bruising snap of his hips against you. You both were so wrapped up in each other you hadn't noticed the approaching foot steps.

"Brother did you collect your bags- oh" Toma's voice said from the doorway. His face was flushed four different shades of red as Chobei looked over his shoulder, biting against the skin of your ankle.

"Worried someone's gonna steal my shit little bro?" the blonde said with a manic smile, "As if they'd actually try".

"I-Just - uh- I" The black haired man stammered, stumbling over his words as he tried and failed to tear his eyes away from your exposed form. Chobei laughed, looking back to you with eyes glittering like open flames.

Lo Mejor Del J-Pop en Junio 2022 + Análisis del Mes (Parte 1)

Otro mes más que se acaba, creo que este mes no supera a marzo, pero sí admito que este mes logró llamar mi atención mucho más la música que en meses pasados, sin embargo, como me ha pasado mucho este año, no he descubierto muchas canciones viejas y con lo nuevo como muchas veces estoy trabajando, algo me tiene que gustar mucho para volverlo a buscar y escucharlo otra vez. Lo que sí les digo es que este mes terminó bien porque Miliyah Kato sacó esta semana un single de r&b con Yo-Sea y muchos artistas urbanos sacaron singles esta semana, incluso Meychan que usualmente tiene canciones fastidiosas (casi no consigo utaites que no parezcan fastidiosos o aburridos hasta dormir) sacó un single más que decente.

Esta nota la voy a separar en dos: Lo viejo que conseguí y lo nuevo que salió que me gustó. Como soy indecisa, haré mi top en base a mi last.fm.

5. Creepy Nuts - 2way nice guy

No le había dado mucho chance a Creepy Nuts antes por falta de tiempo y este año sacaron una canción con los Yoasobi que para mí era un "No" inmediato porque ellos me aburren y me parecen simplones en cuánto a música se refiere (nada personal, sin embargo), Pero este mes sacaron 2way nice guy que está muy entretenida, esa mezcla como de instrumentales al estilo Tokyo Ska Paradise y el rap de ellos que suena ordinario, pero para el estilo de canción está bien.

4. Memory Of Sunset - Akira Takano

Durante años le hice la cruz a los seiyuus y es más que todo porque siento que usualmente hacen cosas muy genéricas o hacen cosas que encajan demasiado con la percepción que tiene la gente internacional sobre el J-Pop (como mucho rock de anison o canciones denpa de lo más terribles), claro que no generalizo, el año pasado me habían gustado algunas canciones de Megumi Nakajima y el álbum de Kanda Sayaka pero igual, ese no es mi rubro porque siento que estos artistas apelan hacia un mercado y un público distinto así que es entendible que encajen más en lo que un fan del anime espera del J-Pop más que de lo que un fan de la industria de la música japonesa espera de la misma. Pero volviendo con Akira Takano, mi razón de darle una oportunidad fue porque tiene una canción producida por Taku Takahashi de m-flo y para mi sorpresa el álbum no tiene pérdidas. Memory Of Sunset es un track muy entretenido y tiene arreglos fuertes, es lo que busco en solistas masculinos.

3. I'm Not Just A Girl - Kumamoto Emi

Otro trabajo hecho por Taku Takahashi y muy bonito para Kumamoto Emi. Tbh, no me gustan este tipo de artistas femeninas medio idolescas (de eso tiene culpa mis días como K-Poper que me hacen huírle a este tipo de artistas a menudo) pero el debut de Emi Kumamoto me ha parecido excelente tanto a nivel musical como vocal, INJAG es una canción entretenida, con una buena estructura de canción, arreglos que no son originales pero que están muy bien llevados además de que Emi tiene una voz entre dulce y potente que le da buena vibra a la canción. En mi opinión no tiene desperdicio y para tratarse de un debut supieron manejar todo bien. Gracias Taku por hacer felices a los gays, Emi Kumamoto es diva material en una era donde no hay divas arrasando con los charts.

2. This Hell - Rina Sawayama

Sé que Rina no es realmente J-Pop pero es japonesa y al igual que yo, le gustan las divas así que eso cuenta. This Hell es un track como muy pop-rock, pero lo aprecio porque las guitarras le dan un toque vintage que le sienta muy bien a la canción. Además de que Rina cuando interpreta esta canción en vivo se puede apreciar que es muy carismática y tiene buenos visuales, what a queen tbh.

1. Another Brain - Akira Takano

Otra vez Akira Takano, pero es que no todos los días alguien se puede dar el lujo de tener productores de primera en el campo de lo upbeat como lo son Taku Takahashi y Juvenile, SÍ, soy stan de m-flo y siento que su estilo es de las mejores cosas que han podido pasar en la industria de la música japonesa. Another Brain me hace feliz porque es todo lo que busco en una canción; tiene un estribillo muy pegadizo y hay mucha energía por parte de Akira. Como dije arriba, el álbum no tiene pérdida, de principio a fin, tiene una agradable mezcla de canciones upbeats con baladas que no son aburridas. Quizá el único contra es quizá no es un trabajo del todo original, pero lo que importa es que suena bien.

E: Who’s askin? C: Camila, and that's my sister Emilia.

How old are you?

E: Old enough to be your mother. Who’s askin?? C: 48, but I don’t really feel it. 

What do you look like?

E: Oh, good, I have jokes for this. ‘Why not just check my mug shot’ or 'Who is this interview for, the blind?’ oh! How about ‘use your damn eyes’?

C: Oh, ugh...well I use to have black hair and my skin wasn’t so...the way that it is, haha. Can we please move to the next question?

Where are you from? Where do you live now?

C: Mexico! I don’t remember much of it, actually. I mean I do but not enough of one place. We moved around a lot and most of it just looked like the wastes here. I don’t remember being told when we had made it into America, I don’t think it really clicked until we were half way through Arizona. We still moved around once we made it into the States and up until a few months ago we didn’t have a home. But we sort of do now! Right Em?

E: Yeah, we’ll see.

E: Just like everyone else’s in some ways. Good at times, shitty at times, getting into way too much trouble at times. Heh, you know, the usual kid stuff and more.

C: Even when papa was around we still stayed with host families. Emi and Abuelita always seemed to be out doing something, mostly work I think, not that I could ever join them. When I was real little I would get sick so much. Papa wouldn’t let me out unsupervised, but he did trust Emi to take me places. Once he was gone things got a lot more strict. I think the host families didn’t want to chance me getting hurt or more sick. Abuelita agreed with them, but Emi would sneak me out and we’d play. 

What groups are you friendly with? Are you allied with any factions?

E: I’m friendly with plenty, whether or not they’re friendly with me is their problem. I guess the Chairmen are fine with me, BAH! I know the Omertas have it out for me, and if those damn pretentious White Chode Society fucks didn’t make a steak as good as they do they’d be a hole in the ground. Who else is there? No one that matters I guess-- Wait, those Boomers might be batshit but they know how to have a party! 

C: Oh! I’d like to think I’m friends with the Chairmen, but they’re really just my employers. Swank is nice, a bit of a flirt but he’s like that with everyone. Tommy is sweet too! He can be tough during practice but I can’t fault him for that. Although Emi doesn’t really like them I love the White Glove Society! They really make you feel like royalty-- And their spa is amazing. There’s nowhere like it in the world I swear. I just really enjoy their casino....Um, other than that I don’t really know any other factions. The Kings are funny, but Emi doesn’t really want me in Freeside without her or Cass or Arcade. She also says I am absolutely not to go near Gomorrah. I’ll admit I’m curious but it doesn’t really seem like a place you’d want to wear open toed shoes, you know?

Tell me about your best friend.

E: Only got Camila and Raul, really. Arcade’s good, a bit too idealistic for his age but whatever keeps you goin. Cass is pretty independent, but it’s part of why I like her. 

C: I have so many now! There’s Veronica, she’s probably the closest I’m to, oh and Sarah. I love my sister dearly but she was never into girlish things. But I have those two now! And they love doing all that stuff. Swank gives me a hard time when he comes around The Aces, but it’s all in good fun. Arcade is teaching me how to do computers, and it’s really helping with the Vault hotel. He’s a bit prickly but he still wants to teach me. I really do love them! I know she’s pretty defensive about our living space but I’m glad Emilia includes them in the 38, this place gets too big and lonely without people. 

Do you have a family? Tell me about them!

E: Cam’s all I need. And Raul’s here now. The others are nice to have around but...Family’s special. 

C: There use to be more of us...I never knew mom but Emi’s told me of her. Xiomara was my abuelita’s name, and my papa was around only when I was little. Then there was-- well, it’s not my place to say. Oh, but I have Raul now too. And Veronica, and Arcade, n Cass, Boone....they count. To me they do. 

What about a partner or partners?

E: Nope. Don’t need one. Not in that sense anyway. I don’t mind having regular lovers, but I don’t get attached like that. Friends suit me just fine. 

C: Not for me no. I mean I haven’t really thought of anyone like that...I haven’t really had the chance to. I mean I’ve thought about it before but nothing serious and definitely not at anyone in particular. I think it would be nice...but I’m just not sure. 

Who are your enemies, and why?

E: Enemies? Now why would anyone want to be enemies with me, I am nothing short of a delight. Although, I will say the Garrets’ opinions of me vary with how hefty my tab is. 

C: I really hope I don’t have enemies. I just got friends! One thing at a time please.

Have you ever heard of The Brotherhood of Steel? What do you think about them?

E: Brotherhood of Kiss My Ass! Don’t get me wrong, they have cool shit and I love their archives but as long as New Vegas is what it is and as long as they do how they do, I hate them. 

C: Veronica’s told me a lot about them. Aside from the obvious, um, flaws, they sound interesting. I know Emi loves history stuff...This seems really complicated...

What about The Enclave?

E: Never heard of ‘em.

C: The who now?

How do you feel about Super Mutants?

C: I haven’t had the chance to properly meet any. Emi says some are like us and that others are just mindless and violent. We had heard about Jacobstown, that’s part of the reason we’re up here actually. Apparently its a home for the mutated. It sounded like a good idea at first-- it certainly was a smart one but...I like Vegas.

E: Tough sonsofbitches. They have no right being as fast as they are. Clumsy in close combat though. 

What’s the craziest fight you’ve ever been in?

E: Well, it wasn’t the craziest but I did get in a scuff with a mark’s security guard on top of a building. We ended up rolling off, and when I tried grappling my leg had tangled in my climbing cable-- That’s what fucked up my knee-- I ended up hitting the side of the building, having the wind knocked out of me, and then alerted the rest of the security team of an intruder when I broke a window to get back inside. Trying to get out of there with a dislocated knee was probably one of the best and worst adrenaline rushes I’ve had. 

C: Once Rosa and I had a really big miscommunication. I think that was the first time we ever got legitimately mad at each other. She ran off too cool down but I got worried and ah-- Um, things turned out fine, thankfully. Yeah.

Have you ever fought a Deathclaw?

E: Several, actually. Wait-- Ha! Actually, ask Arcade about this, I’m sure he’d love to tell you the story. 

C: Heavens no! I haven’t even seen one outside of pictures. They look terrifying, and Emilia says they’re very territorial and very aggressive. Hopefully I never have to. Although, Emi has said if I’ve ever wanted to see one we could go to the Thorn but animal fights? That seems needlessly cruel.

Do you like fighting?

E: Hell yeah! 

C: I don’t have the energy for conflict. I’d much rather talk it out, like adults. [Camila glares at Emilia]

What’s your weapon of choice?

E: Depends on the job. I love my sniper rifle, but sometimes a trick shot doesn’t have the right flair to it. It’s really about reading the situation and seeing whats available. Sure, you can blast someone’s brains out 2,000 meters away but where’s the fun in distance if no one knows how far it really is. Now, making a big deal out of a target, there’s the fun. You have to personalize each kill, let the mark and the world how premeditated it was. No, it didn’t have to be that complicated, but it was and someone put the effort in. That’s the sort of thing that let’s people know you’re better than them. 

C: I suppose a mic. I’m not really trained in anything, and I don’t really have a preference towards a weapon? Emi really should teach me but last time I brought it up...I’ll ask Raul.

How do you survive? Your wits, your charm, your skills, brute force, some combination? (a.k.a. what’s your S.P.E.C.I.A.L?)

E: It’s all skill baby. I give a prayer and Lord willing I succeed. That and a quick wit is all I need. (S5, P9, E6, C7, I6, A10, L0)

C: I mostly relied on Emilia to survive. Things have been complicated in the past, but she did what she needed to do. I try to be as polite and accommodating as I can though, at the very least people leave you alone if you’re not causing trouble. I got a job at the Vault 21 hotel! It doesn’t get as busy as the other places on the Strip, but it’s still something!  (S2, P6, E3, C10, I6, A3, L9)

Have you ever been in a vault? What do you think about them?

C: I work at a Vault! Sort of. It’s a hotel now and it’s been mostly destroyed....Sarah’s a bit afraid to be open about it, given how ‘gracious’ Mr. House was, but from what she said it was much more homey when she was little. She’s also told me about Vault life. I guess growing up underground really makes the concept easier huh? I hate being cooped up, but a roof always over her suits her just fine. ‘Though, I guess if the Vaults are as big as she says they were there would be plenty to do inside but...still...

E: I’ve been in a lot. It’s...humbling. All of them have their own unique story and connections to the old world. Reading about some of these people, their lives, their struggles? It’s like looking into other worlds. The dangers out in the wastes are one thing, its nature of man’s sin or the world’s design, but in the Vaults? It can be paradise or tailored evil. When man plays God, everyone suffers. But I suppose they were use to that kind of living. It is life, no? Just like out here. But even then, most of the time Vaults were safe. For those who first stepped out, they left that and saw nothing but, well, this. I can't imagine not having been able to grow up out here. It's shaped me, made me strong, and I can survive because of it. I don't lament my life being hard, like I said it's made me who I am, but I can't help but put myself in their shoes. Having to learn all this after a life in a Vault? That is a cruelty on its own.

How do you beat all the radiation around here? Has it affected you?

C: Well, you can see how it’s effected me. I’m just like any other ghoul I guess. Oh...I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for when my skin really starts to come off. Oh-- Ah! One good thing I suppose! I no longer get sick. I mean, I still get the fatigue and pain but I don’t get colds like I use to. That alone lets me do more than I could when I was a kid. Bright sides, right?

E: I don’t have an extra arm yet, so I don’t think its effected me much. I try to keep radaway on me though, it always has it’s uses. 

What’s your favorite wasteland critter?

C: Oh I love bloatflies! They’d kind of ugly, but also sort of cute? Just like me!

E: I’ll admit I have a certain fondness for our nightstalker Sawyer. There’s intelligence behind those eyes...well, some semblance of it anyway. Still, she’s here for a reason. Although...they’re not very common up here-- actually I don’t think I’ve seen any up here, but frogs. I really really love frogs. 

What’s your least favorite wasteland critter?

C: RADROACHES. I don’t see too many creatures thankfully but these manage to get everywhere and I hate it!

E: Centaurs are some unholy creation of man and should be purged from this life and the next. They and feral ghouls...I say a prayer for them before I pull the trigger. Whomever they were before they didn’t deserve that.

How do you feel about robots?

E: They’re fine for the most part. Just bits and bobs that can sometimes have a personality, although I’ve seen some being used to cheat death. Those ones are abominations. 

C: Yesman! Oh I love him. Ah, I’ve met other robots before too but I never got to know them well. Vegas doesn’t seem to have much aside from securitrons, though.  

How many caps do you have on you right now?

C: A lot more than what we--

E: That is absolutely none of their business!

Nuka Cola or Sunset Sarsaparilla?

E: Sarsaparilla, easily. 

C: Emi just says that because nuka give her hives!

Do you do chems?

C: Emi made me swear never to touch Med-X. She told me it’s stronger than the stuff we use but nowhere near worth the addiction. I’ve seen some of what she means, so I don’t plan on breaking that promise. Colitas are just fine for me. 

E: Some of ‘em yeah. Mostly for work though. Heh, I even make my own brand of kick in the ass. Yeah...Flake’ll get you through just about anything. The high’s crazy but the crash is insane. I mostly prefer the natural stuff. Peyote comes in handy when I need a good bit of life insight.

Do you ever think about the Pre-War world?

E: A lot actually. It’s quite interesting, they lived a lot differently than us but at the same time not. It’s funny to see how routine human nature is. 

C: Sometimes. Emi still brings back old world books that she finds and I read them when I feel like it. The one’s with photographs are nice. A snapshot in time, as Emi says. She certainly finds them more interesting than I do. 

What’s your deepest regret? What would you do differently?

C: I was very insistent one night, and I wish I hadn’t been. Things would have been different if I had just stayed in bed.  

E: Ha! You are asking an assassin what their biggest regret it. There is nothing, I assure you. 

What’s your biggest achievement? Or what do you hope to achieve?

C: I got a job! I have a home, I have friends. I’m...normal. Ha!

E: Ah hell, give me a minute to think of the nastiest bastard I’ve ever ‘in’directly put into power...

What do you want for the future? For yourself? Your friends? The world?

E: I’m getting old, I don’t need a future. And I’m just one person, the world will go on when I’m dead. Cam though, she’s got what? Centuries? That’s a long fuckin time to think about. Raul’s tried to tell me what it’s like but it just feels-- It just doesn’t click. No way in hell I’m making it that long. I just have to figure some way of making this place as secure as possible for Camila.

C: I just want to be independent! I love Emi dearly but she’s a bit much at times. Especially now...and I’m scared I won’t be able to do a lot on my own once she’s gone. Vegas is good for me. I have friends here and there’s jobs that I can manage. Even if Emi wants to move again, I’m staying. I have to. I have a future here, I can see it.

Fly me to the Moon

It was during these nights that a family of three would usually take a slow drive down the bayside beaches, all the way to the lips of the shore. The moon would be sinking delicately to the seamless horizon, spilling its milk to the universe reflected in the water, and this family of three would always sit by the sand to watch the world fill their hearts. Sometimes, the nights wouldn’t be so kind, and the moon would be blurred by the clouds and the mist, as the rain poured endlessly until the brink of dawn. The air would be crisp and cold, and the leaves would shiver as they traveled from the crippled branches to the flooded concrete, and yet, the child was happy, looking at nature unfold itself from the safe cushions of their car. She could still see traces of the moon swim across the rough waves as they crash down to land. 

This particular evening was a privileged kind, where the breeze was tame and salty, and where the late night drizzle had only left behind a handful of water beads streaming down their windshields, like a quiet sob. This time around, however, there was no longer the child. The daughter of Ardroy and Mallory Curtis had gone to the moon by herself, and left her parents behind. 

Mr.Curtis occupied the driver’s seat, starting the engine as his wife sat next to him. Behind them sat their young husky, a panting and slightly mischievous puppy that neither stayed still nor stayed quiet. He was the opposite of his mother, who had often times appeared dead until she actually died. But the mother husky had not always been that way. During the days when young Emy Curtis had still walked the earth, the mother husky was never seen if not next to the child, always following her by the end of her sundress hems. 

As they drove, the married couple lowered down their windshields, smelling the grass and soils, and the dew that coated everything. Mr.Curtis took out a raw piece of seraphinite from the front drawer, and his wife watched as the crystal stone glimmered amidst the dim space. 

“You still have that?” Mrs.Curtis asked, still quiet. 

“Of course I do.” Mr.Curtis replied, glancing at his wife with a crinkled smile. “My grandfather gave it to me when I was young. I told you the story didn’t I?” 

Mrs.Curtis breathed in and nodded, then faced back towards the open window as she rested an arm atop the ledge, leaning her cheek against the side of the headrest. Her mouth was slightly ajar, and her eyes seemingly empty. 

Her husband continued talking. His hands grasped the wheel tightly as he drove carefully and slowly, while his words ran quickly from his mouth. 

“You see Mal, my grandfather was pretty grandiose with his euphemisms, because he always wanted to make sure I was happy. He told me that he was going to leave to the moon one day just like his father, and I got all excited.” Mr.Curtis said, “Then I asked him if he knew what it was like in the moon, and he was like, ‘oh, it’s paradise there! You get to see all the stars, and you won’t have to struggle to breathe!’ I didn’t believe him at first, so he gave me this stone. Told me that it was a piece of the moon.” 

Mrs.Curtis looked not at the stone, but at her husband’s face, somehow with even more melancholy than before. “And then?” 

“And then I asked him when it was my turn to go to the moon, and he told me… I guess, he told me to wait until I got older.” He said, “But of course, there really isn’t any order.” 

Mr.Curtis smiled at his wife with a sad glint in his eyes, and she looked back at him with her eyebrows knitted against each other tightly. She wasn’t angry though. If there was anything he was sure of, Mrs.Curtis never got angry, only miserable. 

“Aren’t you still excited now?” She asked, and slowly, the creases on her face began to peel away. 

The green stone continued to glimmer on the space between the driver’s seat and the passenger’s seat, shifting from different shades of the same color as the cradling of the car changed the way the moon glared at it. It was beautiful, but it wasn’t a piece of the moon, and Mr.Curtis was older now, and so was Mrs.Curtis. They knew what it really meant. 

Mr.Curtis’s grandfather was a lawyer, and his money allowed his son to invest on his own real estate business. As much as young Ardroy tried to believe he lived an ordinary life, he knew that he was different, because his family was richer than most. But this family of his was also not like most other rich families, as they had lived as simply as they could, never buying extraordinary cars to show them off during sundays, and never forgetting to attend an annual christmas feeding for the poor. 

“If you do good things, good things will always come back to you,” was what his father constantly said to him, “live simply, and be a good person. If you do that, your life will never fall off course.” 

Mrs.Curtis understood, that although life never fell off course for her husband, he would need to know what falling off course felt like. Mrs.Curtis was of the same social status as him, but if his rich family was not among the ordinary, she belonged to the contrary. Her rich family followed the common rich standards, and she often times fell into the darkest pits that rich hell gave her. Mr.Curtis, who was a far more happy go lucky person than her, had been her ideal man -- a man who could be the pillar of joy of that which she couldn’t create for herself. Having Emy was the second pillar, and they were the only two people in the world who held her together. 

“Just do good Mallory,” She would always tell herself, “And things will continue to stay like this.” 

She never said those words out loud, afraid that the world would immediately sweep down and steal the moment when she had finally promised herself a ticket to happiness. But even if she hadn’t said it aloud, that night, the world still heard her, and answered her. 

Emy Curtis had drowned in the sea that she loved, during that one stormy night when she had still insisted to go on a slow drive to the bayside. It began when she watched as the waves pushed and pulled aggressively, as if calling out to her. At that time, Emy remained in the car as she knew it would be the smart choice to make. However, as she stared longer into the sea, she had noticed that their pet mother husky was scampering through the sinking sand, constantly getting sucked by the current, and trampled on by the heavy rain. The mother husky carried her pup from the scruff of its neck, trying to reach the safer side of the shore, however failing to escape the waves that took them both in. 

Emy Curtis did not think, and as she opened the car door, it was too late for Mr. and Mrs.Curtis to pull her back inside. Emy leapt out and ran as fast as she could into the sands that sunk her feet. Mrs.Curtis was the first to run out, but Mr.Curtis watched for a moment before he could move, like a child watching the subliminal fires burn a building for the first time. When Emy finally appeared before the mother husky, she scooped them both up, and with her feet already half buried under the sand, she twisted her body enough to turn around and throw them as far away from the harsh waves as she could. 

“Go! Run, run!” She exclaimed.

Those were the last words Mr. and Mrs.Curtis heard, before Emy turned around, and watched almost more in amazement than in fear, the waves engulf her before their eyes. 

Mr.Curtis stood there, his hands paralyzed, as if still trying to process what had happened, whereas his wife had already begun to fall unto the sand, her hands shaking on her face, because she knew full well what had just happened. Life had fallen off course for the first time for him, and life had fallen off course once again for her, and they had both lost themselves wholly. 

It was nights like these, where Mr. and Mrs.Curtis would usually be grateful. When the drizzle is as light as the clouds, and the air is as soft as Emy’s laughter. However, the only music playing at the moment was Frank Sinatra’s fly me to the moon, and they were both forcing themselves to feel a kind of happiness that has only ever fallen short. 

“Ardroy, do you think they’ll like it?” Mrs.Curtis asked. 

The engines began to die down as the car stopped in front of a house with all its lights off. Mr.Curtis took out the keys, and shoved them in his pocket while raising a brow at his wife. “The husky? They’ve got two kids, I’m sure they’ll love it. Why’d you ask?” 

Mrs.Curtis knew that they were not just giving them a husky. A few days from now, they would be giving them something else. 

“Nothing.” She said, “You’re right, your sister’s always been a dog person too.” 

Mr.Curtis left the young husky by their doorstep, a leash tying it to a post on their porch. He knelt down and ruffled its ears, whispering some cooing rendition of ‘goodbye’ in a way that the dog would still pant and jump. It reminded Mrs.Curtis of her husband’s grandfather, and how he had somehow done the same. 

Placed in between the husky’s collar was a small, rolled up note, and it was what would later on be the last trace of the two of them. 

After Mr.Curtis landed a long kiss on the puppy’s head, he left with Mrs.Curtis back inside the car, and continued to drive straight. After some time, he took a right turn, and parked by the bayside road in front of the planes of sand. 

“Are you ready?” Mr.Curtis asked, as the engine’s roar began to die down again. This time, he left the keys in the car. 

Mrs.Curtis nodded, bringing a final sigh to solace her as she opened and closed the car door. She watched as her husband brought with him the seraphinite, clipped between his arms. He clung to it tightly -- already missing it. 

They marched their way to the sandy shore, hand in hand, and their tears still tucked somewhere at the back. They didn’t want to cry, and yet, Mrs.Curtis couldn’t muster up enough determination to keep herself from crying, and whenever she cried, Mr.Curtis was never far behind from doing the same. 

Still, they continued their march until Mr.Curtis found the right place. He knelt down and started to dig. When the hole was deep enough, he placed the green stone gently inside, and threw the piles of sand back in. He tapped on it to smoothen the surface, until it looked like nothing had happened, and that nothing had changed. 

Mr. and Mrs.Curtis sat next to each other for a moment, exchanging nothing but silence, until Mr.Curtis leant in and held his wife in his arms. 

“Fly me to the moon, and let me play among the stars…” Mr.Curtis started to sing as he cradled her, rocking back and forth on the sand, until they both laid themselves down. “Let me know what spring is like on Jupitar or Mars…”

Mrs.Curtis released a brief chuckle and leant closer, kissing his lips. She took this moment to smile, and let her toes tickle under the tiny pebbles on the sand. Slowly, the sea began to inch closer to their feet, and they held each other through out the night. 

When morning came, the last thing they ever saw was the moon, the waves, and the stars.
