#ekko and jinx begrudgingly teaming up for a full force attack against piltover would've been so much more powerful

timebomb fucking sucks as a ship. they could've worked as a toxic and heartbreaking portrayal of change and how forgiveness isn't always the answer but the writers fucked them over. I always thought timebomb had great angst potential, but I never thought they should've had a relationship in any capacity. jinx murdered multiple of his friends and we're just supposed to let that slide? just going to ignore that ekko and the firelights were terrorized by jinx? ekko says himself most of the firelights are dead because of silco. and I wouldn't be surprised if jinx had a hand in most of their deaths. you can argue ohh she was doing it for silco it wasn't personal!! yeah but they're still dead. they still died at her hands. they're stained with firelight blood.

there was a lot of potential with them being foils to one another, jinx being a revolutionary for herself and for silcos memory, ekko being a revolutionary for his people and zaun as a whole. but nooo dumb bullshit multiverse plot that ignores who jinx is in the canon universe and completely undermines ekko with that "what would you do without her" bullshit. ofc when white writers take hold of this relationship it becomes abt how the black character should save his white counterpart no matter the amount of suffering she's brought upon him.
