Jenny smiled as she listened to the siblings her concentration only broke as she hears the fight begin to start and it subtly drew her attention to them and then watched as Devon moved to go and then talk them down or throw them out . From her angle she thought she saw his eyes flash golden which certainly was interesting but it was not her place to say anything . Beside as she had told them earlier she was not fully fuman either .

Identity the design system, layout, composition, imagery and techniques.
Photography, old styled text, warm/cream paper. Serif. Black and white images as well as colour images. Much of the layout is in two grids, with the exception that images go across the two grids or fill up the whole page.

Predominantly photography based, accompanied by vector. Neutral colours on cover and back, with neutral organic tones within. The texture on book uses the logo as a pattern. The context is architecture. The hand drawn illustrations are feature on the first few pages, very sketchy and abstract.

Photography, and very few illustrations. Colour fill half of background, while the other half has the images placed over the whole page. The spreads use a consistent grid with the title pages being centred and the supporting pages are justified and take up 2/3rds of the page.

Hierarchy of information is utilised and expressed through colour. The blue is a consistent element of the editorial, with it being filled on one page or a slither on another. The titles are accompanied by the pairing of the navy blue which shows resemblance and a link between the imagery and the context.

I have never come across this style of design before. I decided to include because the abstract style and challenging the relationship between elements is what caught my eye. The cute illustrations are fun, and show character. These are shown on the 1 page spread, with negative space on one of the pages. Then followed by the recipe which is quite chunky text and is in a totally different colour.

Black and white photography followed by a pop of colour - orange. They balance each other out, and each show the importance of the individual elements. The pages may run over to the other page which could be something to consider when creating my own work.

You may wish to remove images that have been corrupted. Corruption may come in many different forms. Some may be corrupted in that the thumbnail responsible for opening the image file is damaged, thus the file cannot be opened.
Another reason is if you wish tofree up space on Mac. Though, not much space may be freed up, unless you had tons of pictures, taking up space in the Gigabytes.
Some photos may be old, and though they contain some memories, you probably have backed them up in another storage space. Deleting them on your device may be helpful to avoid duplicate files the same. There is no need to keep saving the same thing over and over again.

Part 2How to Find Photo Files on Mac
Through the section, you will learn a few quick ways about how to find photo files on Mac. You will start by figuring out where are photos stored on Mac.
1. Where Are Photos Stored on Mac
The photos in Mac are stored in the Photos App before they are deleted. To explore them you will need to visit Applications and locate photos under Applications.
On the Mac OS system usually, Photos App acts as the Photo Storage Location. Well, the prime motive of Photos App is to manage the images copied from iPhone, memory card, or other imported ones.
However, we still need to know where are the photos stored in Mac before they get deleted. On Mac, the photo files get stored in the following location: '~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/Masters/'. You can directly access this location by using the command 'Go to Folder'
Alternatively, if want to access the location manually, then the following steps will guide you:
On Mac, open the 'Finder' Menu and then visit the Home Directory.
After that, open the 'Pictures' menu. There you need to locate the 'Photos Library.photoslibrary'.
Here, either use the Ctrl+Click shortcut menu or Right Click on the 'Photos Library.photoslibrary' to select the 'Show Package Contents'.
Then Open 'Masters' folder to access the image files within the Photos App.
Here in the Master folder, you will see all the photo directories in an organized manner within subfolders. You can access these as per day, year, or month.
Note:Never delete any file from the Master folder, if you do, then those deleted files cannot be retrieved back by any means.
2. How to Find Recently Deleted Photos
MacOS has a feature that helps you get back deleted photos from Mac. To do this, the first start by figuring out where is photo library on Mac. Once the location of the photos has been established, you will be able to find the recently deleted photos.
Recently Deleted Album is a new option added to the MacOS and it is the one that helps you find the recently deleted photos. Now, proceed as below to find the recently deleted photos.
Again locate the Photos App. Within the toolbar, locate File and under File Options, you will find the 'Show Recently Deleted' option within which the deleted photos can be found.
When you visit the 'Recently Deleted' then you will find all the deleted files with the number of days left mentioned before they get permanently deleted.
Some more complex than the other, but ultimately they get the job done. The methods that we will discuss ahead will help you torecover deleted photos on Mac most simply and effectively. Just make sure that you follow them keenly to get back any deleted photos from Mac.
3. How to Recover Recently Deleted Photos
The first step on to recover deleted photos on Mac is through using the recently deleted option within the Photos App. This is a very simple method just follow the short steps given below to achieve this.
Launch the Photos App. Within the app move to the menu bar and click on File.
Under File, many options are given. You will need to click on the option Show Recently Deleted. This will open the Recently Deleted Album.
From here you can locate the photos which you wish to recover. All you will need to do is select the photos you wish to recover.
After selecting the desired photos, you will then proceed to hit Recover at the top of the Photos App, this will restore the deleted photos to their original position.
Once you have done all the steps detailed above, you will then have finished restoring the deleted images and you can leave the Recently Deleted Album to see the recovered photos.
Note: This method has a few limitations as there is usually a grace period before the image is completely deleted. It is usually30 daysand in case you are running low on space, then the photos may even be deleted before the time elapses, due to space concerns.
So, to get ahead of the entire recovery process, there is a better way to get back the deleted photos. This method is far better since you can also get back completely deleted photos, even those from the recently deleted folder.

Sirmione, Lake Garda, Verona, and a host of little villages...
Oh Ciao Italy, question, just how much Prosecco, Pizza, and Pasta can one consume in the space of 5 days????😆
I've been back on the gorgeous lakes area for the past 5 nights catching up with some fab friends I met on the Ukraine, Moldova, Romania tour that I did oh so long ago now! Hilarious airport greeting when they picked me up in Verona, I'm sure everyone who could read English got the joke! What fun we've had! These two have bèen travelling a week around in various places throughout France and Italy since we met on the tour, and it was fantastic luck that our schedules lined up enough to construct a meeting. I also got to not only see lake Garda in summer (last time I saw it, it was in October last year, very windy and a bit rainy...) I also got to travel around to the local townships and villages joining Rob and Lynne on their adventure. No planning required on my part, just get in the car and be ready to see some cute little old towns, eat some amazing food, and drink (Just a little) Prosecco...😉. We were staying in an Airbnb that Rob and Lynne had booked and they were luckily (for me) able to add Rob's 'sister' to the booking 😁.
Lake Garda, in northern Italy, is the largest lake in Italy 51.6km long 16.7km wide (widest point), and known for its crystal clear water, is a major holiday destination. Sirmione is located on an isthmus at the base of Lake Garda (depending which way you look at it on a map). Sirmione is dominated by the Rocca Scaligera, a magnificent ye olde (built in 13th Century) fortress with harbor views and some astoundingly private 5 star hotels. There are various 'beaches' providing lake access (across rocks) dotted around the area of the fortress and Sirmione itself. I had visited the fortress area back in October, but still enjoyed seeing it all in summer, teeming with people, boats, etc.
Apart from exploring the local area, we headed to nearby Verona for a day which was also amazing to see again in sunshine and during peak season. I did my best to introduce them to the Hugo (cocktail) as well as the amazing chocolate coated strawbeŕry cups from the shop near Juliets statue (and 14th century residence replete with tiny balcony). We had a walk around the beautiful old medieval area, the 1st century roman arena was being bumped in for an upcoming opera performance so had the set for Aida spread across it's forecourt and entrances (very different to my last visit - I can imagine what a fabulous venue for performances!). We then took in the puntos (bridges), and the general vibe of a city that still gives me all the feels even on a second visit. Its great to see that Verona has limited vehicle access within it's old town area, imposing fines on vehicles that enter without a permit. It has reduced the number of cars impacting it's beautiful old city centre.
There was a day spent on the Northern reaches of the lake. Gorgeous little waterside towns like Brenzone sul Garda, Malsecine, Torbole and Navene, and on the way back to Sirmione a cheeky wine tasting in Fumane.
Another day was spent exploring towns like Bardolino, Lazise. At the end of each day was a swim in the pool at the complex with some of our neighbours. (*not alot of interaction there apart from the first day when a couple of us got in trouble for not showering first..)
On the way to the airport today (3rd August), we stopped off in Bergamo. What a little gem of a city. With the Venetian walls of its older upper district characterised by its gorgeous little cobblestone streets just casually housing some amazing buildings including the 13th and 14th Century Duomo di Bergamo, (the city cathedral), the Romanesque Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore (oh my gosh yes it's another church but it was beautiful!) and the very grand Cappella Colleoni chapel (no photos allowed in that one!) Outside the buildings were a group of buskers. Not your ordinary buskers though, a trio of strings, playing some music that created an even more stately ambience.
I then got to sit at the airport for hours and hours (I was A bit early!) to then be told my flight to Krakow had been cancelled and I was either to wait until the 6th Aug for the next flight, or organise my own and then make a claim to the airline. The airline did at least bus us all to a nearby hotel for accomodation and ensure we had dinner (very euro 10pm!), as well as transport back to the airport this morning for those of us using another airline. Its all part of travel, and something that I've dealt with before. You learn new things every time though! It also meant I met a fellow Aussie and ended up having dinner with him, sharing stories and getting some great tips on online businesses from him - there is always a silver lining!
More photos to come! Off to Krakow today (fingers crossed anyway....😂)

Photographer documents the plight of China’s left-behind kids
(CNN)For more than three years, photographer Ren Shichen has traveled across China taking portraits of the country's left-behind children -- some of the estimated nine million young kids that are currently growing up without Mom or Dad in China.
"Many parents left home when their kids were one or two years old. When they call home now, the children don't pick up. There's no emotional connection any more," says Ren.
Concern over the plight of these left-behind children and rural poverty resurfaced last month after Chinese Internet users were touched by "Frost Boy." A photo of third grader Wang Fuman, his hair iced over from his three-mile trek to school, went viral on Chinese social media.
Ren estimates he's taken the portraits of more than 100 children who have been left behind by one or both parents, most of them in his home province of Gansu, China's poorest. He gets permission from each child's guardian before taking their picture.
What's mesmerizing about his images is their striking similarity -- each child is posed in a classroom with a message for their absent parents on the blackboard behind them. The kids appear unsmiling, chalk in hand and their school backpack at their feet.
In 2017, Ren won a third place in the Sony World Photography Awards for portraiture.
Inner world
Ren has heard some heartbreaking stories from the kids he has profiled.
"When I talk to them their words shock my heart," he says. "No one cares about their inner world."
In most cases their grandparents are able to take care of physical needs like clothes and food but their psychological needs are neglected, he said.
In 2015, Ren met a 14-year-old boy, Li Guojun, whose mother had committed suicide. He didn't know where his father was. "Cherish life in afterlife. My mom committed suicide after mom and dad argued. I miss her," he wrote on the blackboard.
When Ren asked another boy what he wanted to say to his mother, the boy said he wanted to kill his mom with a knife because she left his dad while working away from the village but the vast majority of the messages are touching in their simplicity.
Clad in a turquoise coat, Wang Zixuan,8, from Gaomiao Elementary School, Gansu, wrote: "I miss daddy and mommy. Daddy and mommy went out to work. I haven't seen them for three years."
Left behind
Official figures from 2016 suggest there are 9.02 million children under the age of 16 living without either of their parents in rural China. Earlier figures, based on a 2010 census, had stated that as many as 60 million children under 18 lived without one or both of their parents.
Research suggests that left-behind children are at higher risk of abuse, suicide and mental health issues and suffer from more behavioral problems than their contemporaries.
In 2016, China released a set of guidelines aimed at protecting children left behind by parents, requiring rural officials to keep track of them, and urging parents to keep in touch via phone and video chat.
Left-behind children, and other unintended consequences of mass migration, are not unique to China, but draconian rules have made the problem worse. China's much-hated hukou system registers families as either rural or urban.
Most migrants can't change their household registration when they move. As such, they struggle to access social services such as public schools in urban areas. This can mean it makes more sense for parents to leave their children at home with grandparents or other relatives.
Ren says he feels that China has made progress in tackling poverty in rural areas and that living standards in the areas he visits are improving. There is also more focus on education for left-behind kids, he said. However, he added that these kids need much better psychological support.
"Even though now there are more ways of communicating -- seeing each other on a computer screen, real love and care are still needed," said Ren.
Ordinary people
Ren, 42, grew up poor in Gansu, a dust bowl region that borders the Gobi desert. As a child he had to walk two kilometers (1.2 miles) every day to collect water. His first photography project focused on the plight of people living in three provinces in China where water is particularly scarce -- Gansu, Shaanxi and Ningxia.
"I like to focus on ordinary people who live in villages, in rural areas," he says. In his day job, he works as a photojournalist for Xibu Business Newspaper in Lanzhou, the provincial capital of Gansu.
Ren has started a blog in 2010, on which he posts pictures about life in rural villages. His blog has been viewed more than 17 million times and left-behind children is one of the most viewed topics.
"I want to use my pictures to tell Chinese stories", he said.
He explained his blog is not only a platform to show the lives of children who have been left behind, but also a mutual channel for left-behind children to reach out to him so that more information can be gathered.

Sixteen years later, when Layla’s half-sister is kidnapped and taken through a portal to the forbidden human realm, Layla rushes to the rescue. She’s older and stronger, and she’s not about to let her last living family member be taken from her without a fight.
Only someone who belongs to both worlds can find the truth.
The portal spits her out in the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, but neither her sister or the kidnapper are anywhere to be found. Stuck in a world she only knows from school books, Layla forges unlikely alliances to find her sister. As she becomes tangled in the dark world of fairy trafficking, magic harvesting, and murder, Layla will have to find the strength within if she is to survive and save her sister.

Excerpt:
Chapter One
It was early morning, but already the sun had filtered through the leaves to warm the fairy cottage nestled between the twisted roots of the cottonwood tree. A cloud drifted away from the sun, allowing a single ray of light to make its way through the window and on to the wooden planks of the tabletop.
Layla poured tea and slid a cup through the sunbeam to rest in front of her sister’s empty chair. “You’re not going to the fête. The dragons would like nothing more than to make a fine afternoon snack out of unsuspecting fey.”
“Dragons. Seriously? There haven’t been dragons for years.” Ignoring the tea, Esme stood behind her chair and continued her plea. “It’s the biggest celebration of the year. I’m sixteen. Well old enough to go without you or your permission.” She unfurled her wings adding an extra flip at the tips as if to prove the point.
Layla choked the cup cradled in her hands—better that than her sister’s neck. Aye, Esme was old enough to go alone and had been for three years, but had never pushed it before. Just the thought of her sister’s going brought a variety of bone-chilling, breath-stealing, heart-stopping scenarios to mind. But clearly, telling Esme she couldn’t go wasn’t going to stop her.
No. To keep her sister home and safe, she’d have to stay calm and try reason. “The whole thing is madness. Year after year, fairies too drunk and distracted to see danger coming. It should have been stopped after the massacre.”
Esme jutted her jaw. “Are you really my sister? Because you sound more like a grandmother. Aye, there’s drink and dancing because we’re celebrating the harvest. It’s not meant to be a dirge.” She placed the heels of her hands on the table, dropped her wings low on her back, and bent at the waist until she was eye to eye with Layla. “The rest of the clan has moved beyond the past. Why can’t you?”
Moved beyond the past? A searing streak of anger flashed through Layla and exploded in a double-fisted pound on the table, rattling the cups in their saucers. “This isn’t a piece of history that should be forgotten!” She hit the table again and tea dripped like a fountain from cup to saucer to tabletop. “How can you dance upon the ground where so many fey died? Where our parents died?”
Filigreed shadows splashed across the floor as Esme straightened and popped her wings wide. “Because I don’t remember that day or our parents, and especially not their deaths. To me it’s no more than a legend.” The words blasted straight into Layla’s heart.
“No more than a legend?” Layla’s hands flew to her chest as if they could protect her from the stabbing cold reality that her sister didn’t care. “The mass murders of our people, of our parents, no more than a half-forgotten legend?”
“Why are you so affected by this? You weren’t even there.” Esme’s voice strained with the drive behind the words.
How could Esme not understand? Layla wanted to shout, to beat the table again and again, to throw dishes against the wall and revel in the sound of porcelain shattering into shards.
Instead, she forced quiet into her voice. “Aye. I was. I was there. I was with Mum and Dad.”
Esme’s wings stiffened as she gripped the top rung of the chair back. “What do you mean? Everyone’s always said you were with Kenna and me.”
“You were too young to remember. I think Auntie Maeve hoped I was too, or maybe she tried to create a memory for me.”
The cràdh—the ethereal entity that lived within Layla to feast upon pain, criticisms, and doubt—surfaced in her chest. Anguish poured from it, squeezing her heart until she struggled to breathe. Tingles started behind and beneath her eyes and marched to her nose and mouth. And she knew that as soon as she spoke, tears would fall and sobs would follow. But it was a story that had to be told. “But I was there. And I remember.”
Layla stared at the dust suspended in the beam of light that washed over the spilled tea as visions of the massacre played in her mind. “It was my first fête. I was so excited. The smell of the food, the sound of the music, laughter, and Mum and Dad on either side of me holding my hands. It was magical. And then it all changed. We heard shouts as a shadow flew over the crowd.”
“Fauth.” The word croaked from Esme’s throat.
“Aye. Mum dumped out a citrus crate, shoved me inside, and told me to stay hidden. I lay there among the straw and the smell of rotten fruit with my hands over my ears to block the sound.” She ran trembling fingers across her lips. “But it didn’t block the cries. And, I smelled dragon and blood and death.”

Author Bio:
Mary Karlik has always been a dreamer. When she was a teen, she read The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and then sat in every wardrobe in her Nanna’s home, trying to open the door to Narnia. She didn’t find it, but she did discover her voice as an author: one filled with her young adult self, and grounded in her roots as a Texan and her Scottish heritage, nourished by obscure Scottish folklore.
You can find her Texas roots in her YA contemporary romance Hickville series , which has been described as “100% solid storytelling,” and begins with Welcome to Hickville High, a “lovely story about growing up.” She digs deep into her Scottish roots – there is magic there, she just knows it – for the forthcoming YA epic fantasy Fairy Trafficking series, beginning with Magic Harvest. She makes her home in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains of Northern New Mexico where she is a certified professional ski instructor, but she also loves visiting Scotland where she is currently studying Scottish Gaelic at the University of Highlands and Islands in Skye. Mary also earned her MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University, has a B.S. degree from Texas A&M University, and is a Registered Nurse. Mary currently serves as the President of the Young Adult Chapter of Romance Writers of America and looks forward to raising a glass or two of gin and tonic with her fellow writers every year at RWA’s national convention.
