I can imagine their first kiss would be like off to the side of the pitcher catcher practice area, Chris complimenting Eijun's pitching and Eijun so happy to get praise. Chris looking fondly at Eijun's smile and Eijun wondering why Chris is looking at his lips. They are dating at this point but not kissed yet because Chris is very much the type that wants the perfect moment and this is a perfect moment! So he goes in to kiss Eijun and seems to be thinking same thing and is going in as well.

I just want to state I don't mean this as a miyuki hate post. Buuutttt..

Whenever I watch Ace of diamond I can't help but imagine what it would be like if Eijun participated in a team swap and ended up with the nishiura nine. Like could you imagine the amount of HEALING that would happen. Like the sheer lack of toxicity, neglect and constant threats from the coach. Nishiura has at least three different therapist that come by at this point. They meditate before and after games and practices. They have regular fucking vibe checks and are constantly trying striving to be more open and vulnerable with one another. He would tell them about the yips and momo would make that into an entire hour and a half with a guest lecturer who talks to them about different types of trauma and how to respond.

Eijun would explain how miyuki ignores him for furuya and Abe would go insane. He micromanages so much of Mihashis life, he would NEVER!

His third day would end with them eating at Tajimas house. While tajima graps his faces and makes Eijun yell " I'm a bad bitch!" Over and over.

Ren would meet up with Haruna and they would install such a deep sense of greed and pride in him. Like bitch you're a pitcher you're meant to be prideful, a little selfish and more than a little spoiled. Who's says you're not the ace? Fuck those guys they're not you. You decied whose the ace. You'll leave that mound when you're dead!

Eijun would come back happily pitching by himself because he knows that miyuki should be thankful to catch his pitches not the other way around. He would serve so much cunt while also being able to clearly and honestly explain how and why people's (miyukis) actions affect him.

this is going to be a bit of a ramble so please, cellular data, work with me

eijun’s raw emotions here are, in a way, very fascinating to me because it’s not often a sports anime has its characters competing for something the way eijun and furuya compete - not to mention kawakami is also in that competitive pool.

circling back to my post about miyuki as captain, he has a lot on his shoulders in a very short time that tests his abilities to not only direct a team, but be a sturdy figure that his members can fall back on to eventually build themselves back up again. kawakami dealing with the stress of their “one more out” loss, eijun coping with the hit-by-pitch to the head on top of his anxiety with pitching inside cuz of raichi’s homer

after the third yrs retirement, even some of the second yrs struggle filling their shoes. coach kataoka himself acknowledges the holes in their batting lineup and without tanba, there’s no ace and no player in shape to be the ace. that pressure on eijun in particular grouped with the competition from furuya and kawakami and his pitching anxiety has to be mentally, physically, emotionally exhausting

hearing “one more out!”, “it’s expected of the first string”, etc as a player from a small town and smaller team like he is, i wish there was someone better than miyuki (better than tetsuya, even) that he could talk to.

tbh, everyone on the team could use a counselor but i don’t imagine a sports anime ever getting that introspective with characters

chapter 5 of forever is a maybe (but i like our chances, baby) is up and posted and i'd just like to cut out what is some of my favorite dialogue from this chapter. no real spoilers either, just some Shenanigans!

“You could ask one of the assistant managers to get it for you,” Miyuki points out as Eijun leads you two into the lower levels of the stadium, where extra equipment, cleaning supplies, and other miscellaneous items are stored. Very little people are around, so the only noise is the soft sound of your footsteps, with the occasional squeak of the soles on the concrete floors. It’s a bit unsettling, but these sections are part of a larger area entirely off-limits to fans and the like, so it should be fine. 

Eijun tosses a scandalized look over his shoulder. “That’s not what they’re here for, Miyuki Kazuya! Don’t be rude!”

“Sawamoron, you literally have two of them assigned to you to wait on you hand and foot. That is their job.”

“Well, I still feel bad! And don’t you see how creepy it is down here? Why would I want to make one of those poor assistants go through this? No! Strength in numbers!”

You chuckle fondly. “I’m not sure this park is old enough to have ghosts, Eijun.”

“You don’t know that! Gramps says we can carry ghosts with us sometimes.”

You frown. “Is that why I always see stuff in the corner of my eye whenever you come over?”

“Maybe!”

“Eugh.” You shudder.

Miyuki snickers. The industrial lights overhead flash over the lens of his glasses. “Don’t tell me you actually believe in ghosts. The country bumpkin I get but —”

“Hey, she’s like me! Tell him!”

You shrug. “I’m from Montana, which probably has more cows than people. I’ve been raised to respect the supernatural.”

He laughs hard at that. “Oh, my stomach hurts . . . You two are hilarious . . . Ghosts, please —”

As if on cue, the lights illuminating the long tunnel flicker. 

“You’re upsetting the ghosts, Miyuki Kazuya,” Eijun whispers, annoyed, though he does take your hand, pulling you closer to him. “Say sorry.”

“I am not saying sorry —”

The lights flicker again.

“Kazuya!”

“Who am I apologizing, too, huh? What ghosts could possibly be here?”

“The ghosts of old!”

“Old what, you idiot?”

The look of incredulity on his face makes you want to laugh but you figure both he and Eijun don’t want you laughing right now. 

“Old baseball, obviously!”

“What ghosts of old would want to haunt a place called T-Mobile Park? You think Babe Ruth is hanging around here when he could be at Yankee Stadium?”

“Kazuya!”

“Alright! I’m sorry, ghosts of old baseball!”

Another tunnel comes up on your right and all three of you flinch and skid to a stop when metal screeches loudly against concrete.

Several things happen in that moment. You, decidedly spooked, drop back at the same time that Eijun, using your left hand clasped in his right, pushes you back to stand behind him and Miyuki, while Miyuki’s left arm shoots out protectively over Eijun. In between all of this, somehow, your right hand ends up finding the back of Miyuki’s Nike track jacket, fabric clasped tightly in your hand. 

A surprised worker meets your gazes, standing at the foot of a tall ladder, clearly having just moved it; at the top of the ladder is an open box in the wall, lines of wire exposed.

“Sorry,” the man says, getting over his shock first and gesturing to the box with a pair of pliers in his hand. “Electrical work.”

You know Eijun is sighing in relief at that but it’s not your imagination, either, when you feel Miyuki relaxing, too. Then you realize you’re still holding him and, with your face burning, you let him go. 

He sends you a quick glance over his shoulder but you avoid his eyes awkwardly, shuffling closer to Eijun. 

Looking back forward, he straightens his jacket. “Told you, Sawamoron,” he mutters, though it lacks any real heat. 

Eijun ignores him still, saluting the man. “Thank you for your hard work! And sorry if we scared you!”

The man smiles, bemused, and shakes his head. “’S alright. No worries.”

The three of you continue on your way, all of you silently agreeing to not bring up any of that.

Not sure if you celebrate valentines day but what do you think your favs do for the holiday?

valentines is trying to get really big in my country. or well. at least in the grocery stores, but it’s not really getting as big as i think they hoped. i however am not celebrating tomorrow. although, i am going out for lunch and window shopping with @/superbattrash on saturday!

now to my my faves!

eijun and taiyou are both taking you out to dinner, with the intend of taking you back home for dessert afterwards. and by desert i mean them eating you out all night. taiyou is a bit more on the offense about it. more assertive. eijun more eager and excited about it.

kazuya is more of a cooking dinner for you at home kinda guy, i think. he’s great in the kitchen and he enjoys to cook, so of course he’s whip something up for you. i think he would generally go for your favorite, whether it’s big or small doesn’t matter, as long as it’s going to make you happy.

mochi has spent weeks trying to decipher exactly what you would want from him for valentines. he’s a perceptive guy, and he cares about you deeply, so he wants it to be perfect. no matter what it is that you want, he will give it to you. he may or may not be the guy who “accidentally” buys you a ring one year, simply because it caught his eye and he just knows it’d look perfect on you. he tried looking for something else but kept coming back to that ring. he knows what the implication of that action could mean, and it may be a little bit fast, he knows that, but— thankfully it didn’t scare you off and it truly did look at stunning on your finger as he imagined.

ah but then there’s issei. my beloved issei. outwardly, he wouldn’t be stressing about it, but it goes without saying that he wants the day to be special. i feel like he’s the type to want to take you somewhere. to a place that’ll be an experience. whether it’s to some kind of amusement park or a festival. he wants the day to be memorable. also pls let him hold your hand all day, it’ll make him so, so happy.

levi and megumi for me, would both prefer to stay in and just spend time with you at home. if you want to go out though, they can be persuaded. but they much prefer the privacy of their own homes, and the simplicity of just spending time together. levi might run you a bath for the two of you to enjoy together, while megumi just wants to hold you for as long as you’d allow.

there are honestly so many more i would have loved to also talk about but damn, this is getting long already, and for someone who doesn’t really celebrate valentines per say, my mind does keep circling back to the same things, which are all very unoriginal, but ah well. that’s what i’m thinking at least <3

daiya no ace / ace of the diamond characters as edm genres + examples

raving is a common past time of a lot of asian americans so in an alt universe where they're as-am im gonna predict what subgenre they'd be into / what genre would represent them.

sawamura kuramochi and isashiki are def headbangers. sawamura would def ride the rail. haruichi would def be an illenium simp. miyuki and furuya would def be into john summit. idc.

im gonna focus on seido for this ! doing all of them would be hard so im just gonna pick a few characters i could definitely categorize.

overall, i think seido would be dubstep, but a specific type (subgenre of a subgenre???) like edm songs that have very melodic verses but have a hard dubstep drop in either the middle or at the end. two songs came to mind.

for act I seido, i thought of dont look down (hold on) by excision, wooli, and codeko.

i feel like i can imagine the players singing the verses to each other: holding each other up, keeping each other focused, reminded each other of everything they did to get to the place where they are now. for both this song and the next song, i think the hard drop represents the burst of energy or passion they feel during critical points in a game.

for act II seido, i thought of shivering by illenium and spiritbox.

similar to the last song, but i think this song is more angsty and intense, in a sense. i feel like the verses refer to a past in which they suffered or endured something difficult. i can feel this song being representative of the new team as they fight for their old third years and rebuild themselves from the bottom up. i imagine singing this song to their opponents and also each other, about what they've learned and the intense determination to succeed that they hold.

with their loud personalities and fiery attitudes, i think kuramochi and sawamura would be hardstyle.

i dont think theres a moment in this song where it truly slows down. the pounding bass represents his footsteps, and the quick tempo represents his speed. truly encompasses the cheetah.

as for sawamura, his take on hardstyle would definitely be the songs with epic sounding narration.

sub zero project has many songs like this, but path of the warrior is definitely sawamura's type. he would definitely call himself and his teammates warriors 💀💀

jokes aside, this type of hardstyle is also very uplifting. as "epic-sounding" the narration in the song is, it fits into his role as ace of lifting up the teams spirits. it also reminded me of his pre-game speech of asking for his teammates to prepare for any balls. best boy eijun :)

literally just scrolling through my edm playlist while brainstorming and it hit me that furuya is so the dominate vip by space laces. i'd say this genre has both dubstep, techno, and big room influences.

[for those of you who are unfamiliar with edm terminology, vip stands for variation in production. similar meaning to remix, except a vip holds more of the original song content (i think lol)]

though his personality is not as intense as say, sawamura or kuramochi mentioned above, i dont think this means he's exactly a wallflower either. this song is more "laidback" in the sense of perhaps tempo, but the hard-hitting drop and the quick intervals between them reminded me of furuya's pitches; nonstop, heavy pitches. despite his chiller demeanor, do not underestimate him on-the-field.

switching gears, haruichi is a quite positive and uplifting character that nicely balances out sawamura and furuya. as such, i felt that he would fit progressive house. still energetic, but has softer elements to it. i think he's pretty encouraging to his teammates and genuinely cares about them a lot, so superhuman by tritonal and codeko came to mind.

the lyrics make me imagine haruichi saying these uplifting words to his teammates, such as in moments when they doubt their abilities or begin to place blame on solely themselves. i think he'd be one to remind them that they're all in it together.

as i was writing haruichi's entry, hollow by dabin, kai wachi, and lo spirit came on. immediately thought about okumura. it has elements of both dubstep and melodic bass.

the lyrics made me think about okumura being inspired by his seniors, particularly sawamura and miyuki. especially sawamura, who seemingly teaches okumura the art of being in a battery. when he was just getting used to the team, okumura did come off as hollow, but after getting to know sawamura, it seems that he's gaining valuable experience and knowledge in both life and baseball. i think the melodic bass aspect signifies the beauty of a baseball battery while the dubstep signifies okumura's solid presence and pressure on the field.

lowest of keys had trouble of thinking of something for miyuki, but i decided on make u sweat! by knock2 !! this is bass house.

i think knock2 is pretty revered in the edm community for being revolutionary in his music. with this song, i go beyond relating miyuki to just the song, but also the dj, as both are highly respected/well-known in their communities. both are young with big careers ahead of them in their respective fields. as for the song itself, i felt like sweat in itself pretty much represented him in both a game and in practice LMFAO but i also think miyuki is clever and playful, much like this song and other of knock2's works. catchy (no pun intended), addictive, and unique. that is miyuki kazuya. that is knock2.

as a character, i thought chris you as comforting, soothing, and reliable. he's a little more lowkey, and so i knew to categorize him as house: miracle remix by calvin harris, ellie goulding, and mau p.

chris was vital to the series, not only to seido as a whole, but also for being a role model and inspiration to miyuku and sawamura, two very key players in the current seido team. his presence is a miracle as the song suggests. when i first heard this song, i was entranced by it; i was relaxed, yet i was also filled with energy. i think chris has the same effect: a comforting presence, but he inspires you to do more.

as not only an anime/daiya no ace post, but also an edm post, i dont think this list is complete without mentioning subtronics. (dubstep)

isashiki is def subtronicscore: scream saver by subtronics.

this song bursts your ears; it's intense, heavy, ear-splitting, but you can't help to listen to it.

isashiki is loud, hence scream saver. particularly at the moment where it says "target marked," it made me think about him hitting the ball with his bat, sending it flying. he plays for "the kill," or for the win, in other words. i imagine him challenging his opponents and securing victory for his team with this song.

I was checking for fall anime 2024 and I was like wtf!!! Yohaji is airing next season??? And Seimei's CV is Oosaka Ryouta?? I was kinda imagining Kamiya (maybe because of Yato and Natsume) but oh well, Oosaka Ryouta (Sawamura Eijun's CV) is a fine option too. :))

Based on the PV, I can sort of tell that the comedic tone is there. Although the art style couldn't match the manga (this is just my opinion though). Sano is way more handsome in the manga imo. XD

Anyway, I am so excited about this series. I remember answering an animanga ask about series I wanted to be animated and I am sure I mentioned this manga. I can't believe I only need to wait 2 months to see this animated. This is an amazing series so I highly recommend it.

NOTE: If you want to check the manga before watching the anime, you can check youkaigakkou-tl for translations (they also post in MD). I tried reading this series a few years back with only around 11 translated chapters. I was so happy to find, a few years later, that there are around 90 chapters. The story gets more interesting in every arc and luckily the translator is doing a fantastic job in continuing this series.

Interrupting you while you work for food or "just a quick question" or a "What? And when none of that works, he starts the dirty talk.

Leaning in close and whispering in your ear how he wants to feel you around him, how it's like you're made just for him, how you make him crazy with all of your pretty noises and the way you look when you cum. Every time he twitches, you pause, giving him a warning glance before starting the section over completely. Every time he whines, you take it as an opportunity to take a break and fuck around on your phone.

It doesn't help that you squeeze him, both consciously and subconsciously. It doesn't help that you wiggle when you're feeling restless. It definitely doesn't help when you make little noises of frustration when you get stuck.

You give him a little treat, kinda, in letting him wrap his arms around your torso, letting him hold you to him as he continually suppresses the urge to pick you up and bend you over your increasingly annoying and insulting desk.

He could.

It'd be easy. He could grab you by the hips and fuck you until he's the only thing you're thinking of, just like how he wanted in the beginning. He feels the way you're drooling around him, your juices coating his thighs and his balls. He feels the way you respond each time he twitches. He knows that he could bite into your shoulder and fuck you until you forget you were trying to work and that you'd both be happier for it.

But he really, really doesn't want to lose.
