id love a spore cell/creature stage type of game where the whole premise is to survive, explore strange environments, encounter other weird creatures, discover ruins/fossils, unlock traits and become the most specialized critter in the world

#and maybe you start as some kinda worm in a pond with nothing #and you could evolve your critter in ways like. getting legs to explore the land. then going aquatic to explore the sea #then going for flight to reach high structures. or becoming more geared towards hot/cold climates to cross deserts n frozen tundras #you see where im going with this #but yeah the general gameplay.. im just picturing rw but if you could make & play some weird beasties #venspeaks #edit: rather than ''evolution'' i think ''metamorphosis'' might be a better word for what im picturing #like this thing is learning/adapting/mimicking via these mutations you can unlock #but you can only equip a certain amount of traits at a time so you have to mix n match constantly for the best fit
