 I have Early -Onset ALZ. That has limited my ability to learn songs, but I still love to sing. So if you notice me looking toward my screen, it to see the words I can't remember.   I decide to record as many as I could and put them up for my wife and kids and grandkids, as this is how they have always seen me and always remember me, Singing. I get out of bed singing...LOL

🌸🌸🌸 I got ready, don’t faint, because I really wanted to get to the special “senior shopping hours” @target I even had a pick up order. Once again the phone rang at 7:15. This time it was my sister. She is 64 years old and in a Memory Care Facility. #alzheimers . She has been there for almost a year but now they have precautions in place and it has her out of her comfort zone. A regular schedule and routine makes her feel calm and have less anxiety. Because of #covid_19 she has to spend more time alone in her space. She is very stressed and is having some really bad days respectively. . I’m not complaining at all. I know a time will come when she doesn’t pick up the phone and call me. I’m so happy I’m home and I can take her calls. They are very difficult but again the day will come when she won’t think of me. . I feel this #stayhome order will change me forever. If I could run errands, be going to work instead of working from home and filling my days with go, go, go I may have missed this conversation time with her. ❤️ We’ve been best friends since my first breathe and I’m blessed to be here, even remotely, for her now! I would do anything to have you back the way you were. The person who raised me to believe in my dreams, the woman who taught me to live without fear, reminded me to have patience, to use kindness before anger, to learn about the world and travel because eating up all types of culture was the right type of nutrition. The one who made me who I am and guided me through some of the darkest moments of my life. If only I had you back for an hour. I know you could fill it with enough love and advice to guide me one last time. You prepared me for everything except losing you. --------------------- Tomorrow morning I am speaking with a #hospicenurse and my mom is getting assessed to see if she qualifies. I am very forgunate that her memory care home provides it there and she won't have any added stresses in moving. This new phase has come faster than I expected even though I knew that her #earlyonsetalzheimers was one to be rapid. No one prepares you for these moments. No one. She covered it all but this. We planned a different life as mother and daughter that involved her filling my children's life with joy and wisdom amongst fun and adventures that only she could lead. But, as my beautiful man always remind me with tears in his eyes, she repeated over and over after her first grandson was born, "I have lived an incredible life! I regret nothing, I travelled the world, loved people and raised a child who then made me a grandma! I lived a great life!" She told him this many times. I caught her saying it once to me personally. I wonder why she told him so often. I guess it was her way of handing him the torch. Whenever I feel too overwhelmed he reminds me of that and then I feel strength from it. She was the only one who could ever pull me out of a dark, depressed place because her words were magic and perfectly put. So, now in retro spect I guess she did prepare me. I don't know how I will be after that first meeting with the nurse but I have only heard good things from #hospicecare and thats something I can be grateful for today. If not many, at least one thing. #alzheimersawareness #IWasRaisedByWonderWoman

So if you notice me looking toward my screen, it to see the words I can't remember.  Early-onset Alzheimer's is an uncommon form of dementia that strikes people much younger age. Most people with early-onset Alzheimer's develop symptoms of the disease in their 40s and 50s. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is 8 to 10 years. In some cases, however, it can be as short as 3 years as AD can go undiagnosed for several years. In fact, the average length of time between when symptoms begin and when an AD diagnosis is made is 2.8 years.
