Gorillaz x E.On
A solar collaboration
On July 25th 2008 the original kong studio was burnt to the ground by Murdoc Niccals.
In 2017, it has been brought back to make music powered by the sun.
This unique studio will form new collaborations from renewable energy.
It's a sun harvester by day and a music maker by night.
The sun rises, the E. On batteries power up. The sun sets, the beats drop.

Don't Pay UK has set another target date for people to stop paying energy bills - this time it's 1 December. This action is intended to target the unaffordable cost of energy in the UK which is expected to lead to fatal consequences this winter.
Last time Don't Pay UK attempted to organise this, it was really frustrating that so many people spread false information, so here's a basic FAQ:
(1) What about people on prepayment meters who get cut off when their credit runs out?
For this reason, people on prepayment meters are not being asked to take part in this action.
(2) What if I'm not on prepayment meter, but my energy company cuts off my electric or gas when I stop paying?
Energy companies give people multiple chances to pay. It's extremely rare for them to cut people off, and the more people stop paying the more they will struggle to respond. In any case, they cannot cut you off without giving you 28 days after the payment was due, offering you a prepayment meter, trying to arrange a payment plan and going to court for a warrant. All this takes time, and people regularly extend that time by submitting new meter readings because then they have to recalculate the bill. There is safety in numbers and the action does not go ahead unless a lot of people sign up.
(3) Will it work?
It worked with the Poll Tax in the 1980s. Non-payment campaigns have the power to be more effective than protest, because of the direct financial consequences. And we already know that companies like E.On were concerned about this campaign costing them cash, cos they wrote to the government complaining about it. But in any case what do we have to lose?

Growing environmental concerns regarding carbon emissions due to the increasing use of conventional fuels for power generation and transportation have resulted in nations across the world switching to cleaner and more effective energy sources. This, in turn, has shifted the focus on biomass for power generation, which is expected to benefit the global market growth.
Renewable power sources, such as wind and solar, act as substitute technologies for biomass power. Due to increased R&D, as well as the availability of financial incentives globally, these alternatives have emerged as superior options. This, however, has had a negative impact on the adoption of biomass for power generation, thus hampering the studied market’s growth.
The Asia-Pacific leads the global biomass power market, accounting for the highest revenue share in 2021. The availability of financial incentive schemes for the adoption of renewable power sources in a majority of the countries in this region is a key factor driving market growth. Also, the implementation of programs for cofiring biomass with coal-based power plants is anticipated to augment the studied market’s growth in this region.
Thermax Ltd, Suez SA, Orsted, Ramboll Group, Veolia Environnement SA, Xcel Energy Inc, Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Ameresco Inc, E.ON Energy, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, Valmet Oyj, General Electric Company, and Vattenfall AB are some of the noteworthy players in the biomass power market.
The biomass power market is characterized by high capital investment. It requires the presence of high-end laboratories, technological expertise, and high capital cost for R&D, which act as a hindrance to new players aspiring to set foot into the market.
Besides, major global players, such as General Electric Company and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd, have a strong market presence and technical expertise in biomass power technologies and components, which helps them capture greater shares in the market. This enhances the industry rivalry among the companies operating in the biomass power market.

Good morning! I hope you slept well and feel rested? Currently sitting at my desk, in my study, attired only in my blue towelling robe, enjoying my first cuppa of the day.
Thursday already? I am buzzing for my weekend. How about you? Have I got big plans? Of course not but I’ll be just as happy doing sod all!
Had another brilliant day on campus yesterday. I love my Wednesdays! The students are such good fun! Having said that, I put on a good show and leave the place exhausted! We’ve got a three-week Easter break now. “We’re going to miss you!” said one of my students. Who the hell says that? I felt flattered. It made me smile. What’s my secret? Debate. Good students enjoy a good debate.
The front page of yesterday’s Standard read, “Shock rise in inflation.” Who was shocked? Were you shocked. I certainly wasn’t shocked! My grocery bill on Tuesday was £101 and I came out of the supermarket with nothing! Mick Lynch finally got his boys and girls an improved pay offer, but will it keep up with rising inflation? Unless somebody sorts out this country, Mick may have to organise another strike? And my friends at e.on next have told me that my energy bill is going up again. What a surprise! Months ago, I told you prices were going up again in April. According to Twitter, OFGEM is “Britain’s independent energy regulator, protecting consumers by working to deliver cleaner, cheaper homegrown energy.” Do you feel protected? I certainly don’t! Like the BBC, another organisation in the pocket of the government.
As my friend, Dr. Louise Raw commented yesterday, “… no trace of the lovable, bumbling schoolboy act now.” As former Prime Minister Boris Johnson began shouting at the Privileges Committee, we could all see he was rattled. ‘White privilege’ is being able to do what the f*ck you want and being able to get away with it. Cheat, rob, steal, even kill, white privilege allows you to get away with it, and some people get very upset when their white privilege card doesn’t work for them. Who’s paying Boris’s legal fees? You and me. Despite the fact that he’s earned £5m from speaking engagements in the last 12 months, tax payers are footing his legal bills. He laughed in our faces as P.M. and he’s still doing it. Let’s hope for a proper resolution!
Check out a good film on Netflix called ‘Hustle’. Adam Sandler is a huge basketball fan, so I’m sure he was thrilled to make a movie with real basketball players. Ladies, try not to fall in love with the lead star, a real basketball player called Juancho Hernangómez, though I’m sure you will!
Today, I am going for a walk in my local park. It might not sound like much but, last term was so busy, I literally didn’t have the time or energy to do something I love to do. Tomorrow’s forecast is rain but 13 degrees is not cold, so I will be out and up and down those hills.
Have a throbbing and thrusting Thursday (with hopefully a few thrills through your thoroughfare?) I love you all.

Energy firms to work with Scottish Government on social tariff
For free real time breaking news alerts sent straight to your inbox sign up to our breaking news emails Sign up to our free breaking news emails Sign up to our free breaking news emails Energy firms are working with the Scottish Government to deliver a “social tariff” that could cut fuel bills for vulnerable customers. Ministers are working with E.On, EDF Energy, Scottish Gas (Centrica) and consumer organisations on a new working group which aims to design the special tariff – which it is hoped could provide more affordable energy for those in need. The move comes after the Scottish Government’s climate action minister Alasdair Allan chaired a roundtable event to consider what could be done to help those struggling with energy costs. Mr Allan said: “The Scottish Government has repeatedly called for a social tariff for those who need it the most, including those in extreme fuel poverty. This is a real step forward and could produce a model for fairer energy pricing not just in Scotland but in other nations too Scottish climate action minister Alasdair Allan “It’s great news therefore that the energy suppliers and consumer organisations have agreed to work with us on this.” The minister accepted there is “some way to go” before a social tariff – which would see certain customers charged a reduced rate for their gas and electricity – becomes a reality. He said: “This is a real step forward and could produce a model for fairer energy pricing not just in Scotland but in other nations too.” It comes as the average household energy bill is set to increase by £149 from October after industry watchdog Ofgem confirmed it was increasing its price cap. At the same time, the Government is withdrawing winter fuel payments from millions of pensioner households across the UK who are not in receipt of benefits. Timescales for the Scottish Government’s new working group are to be agreed shortly but Mr Allan added: “We recognise the urgency in delivering extra support for consumers struggling with their energy bills. “We remain committed to working closely with the UK Government, Ofgem, suppliers and consumer organisations, advocating for the delivery of a social tariff across Great Britain.” Gillian Martin, acting Energy Secretary in the Scottish Government, wrote last year to the previous UK government, setting out the principles ministers at Holyrood think should be key features of a social energy tariff. She made clear the Scottish Government believes such a scheme should be used to provide additional support for customers rather than acting as a replacement for existing forms of support. Ministers at Holyrood agree any new social tariff should be applied automatically to anyone in receipt of means-tested benefits – but could also help those on low incomes who just miss out on qualifying for benefits and who are at risk of fuel poverty. People who have high energy bills because they need to use medical life-saving equipment for long-term conditions should also be eligible for any such scheme, the Scottish Government believes. (writing here bc reddit thread is archived and I need to write to elaborate my own thoughs)
Tumblr media
I am at episode 8 「Echo」 of 16bit Sensation: Another Layer.
The "sparkly eyes" moments confused me and I went to reddit (always bless). This post really brought it into focus to me!
Tumblr media
When E.Two sees Mamoru coming to find her and she has the "realization moment" I was mistaking it for her realizing *her own* feelings.
This helped me reframe that she realized that Mamoru cared and that *his feelings* where what made imagination work.
The following scene is a bit more confusing because she puts on an outfit Mamoru had given a high rating to (possibly to cheer him up?) and he, being very tired, gives it a zero.
The low score makes E.Two "break" (black eye moment) which I assume it means she was not happy of that, and she seems confused (probably didn't understand at first why the different score and why it made her feel different) and then the "eureka" moment because at that moment she herself realized what *caring* was.
In parallel, E.One journey was much more simple and straightforward to me because he was able to make a game that had energy (which imo equates passion) because he pondered "what would Mamoru find interesting".
In OP's framework, *caring* about the result was what made the game finally have the spark E.One was looking for.
Tumblr media
I don't know if the rest of the anime will follow the phylosophycal route of this one, but it would be interesting to see what more conclusions or interactions the Echoes would have and if it confirms our reading.

Midnight Savings Alert: Martin Lewis Urges Energy Customers to Act Now!
Tumblr media
Martin Lewis, an economic professional, advises British Gas, E.ON, and Octopus customers to take a meter reading at midnight on July 1. This action guarantees they gain from a 7% energy fee cut by way of Ofgem and avoid overpaying on their electricity bills. Martin Lewis, a well-known money-saving professional, is telling folks who use British Gas, E.ON, and Octopus to take a meter studying at the hours of darkness this night. This is to assist them save money on their power payments. Starting simply after middle of the night on July 1, Ofgem, the United Kingdom’s energy regulator, will decrease power fees with the aid of 7% for maximum homes. These alternate influences 85% of households on a variable tariff, meaning many humans will pay less for gas and power starting Monday. To make sure you don’t pay greater than you have to, take a meter analyzing as near midnight as viable. If you, do it the following day, the difference in price can be very small, only a few pennies, so don't lose sleep over it. You can document your meter analysing in the dark or early Monday morning in case you’ve already long past to bed. Upload this reading on your electricity dealer inside some days and ensure it’s backdated to July 1. Energy organizations now give you a while to do that because their web sites used to crash whilst too many human beings uploaded readings without delay. Martin Lewis defined in his trendy podcast why this is essential. He said that on Monday, July 1, the power fee cap, which controls how an awful lot of 85 % of houses in England, Scotland, and Wales pay for power, will drop via 7%. The charge in keeping with unit of power is lowering, but the status expenses, which might be the constant every day fees, will live the identical. This way that individuals who use more power will see a piece more than a 7% reduction, at the same time as folks who use much less will see a piece much less. However, anybody will save cash. Martin Lewis emphasised the importance of this transformation. By taking a meter analysing, you may ensure that you’re charged the new lower rates for the power you operate beginning from July 1st. This simple motion allows you to avoid being billed on the better quotes from the previous duration. If you miss taking a studying at the hours of darkness, don't worry an excessive amount of. Just take the reading as quickly as you could on July 1 and submit it to your strength company inside a few days. This manner, you may nonetheless enjoy the reduced costs and make certain which you are only procuring the strength you definitely use. Read the full article

Sports Venue and Event Management
Entry 1 - Sustainability practise of a sports stadium
The sustainable practises of sports stadiums can be described as the development which “minimizes the damage to the natural and social environment and maximizes the efficient use of stadiums” (Zhu et al., 2020, p. 3). An excellent example of a stadium demonstrating sustainability is Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the United Kingdom. The club decision to sing up to the ‘United Nations Race to Zero campaign’ has seen the implementation of ‘100%’ renewable energy supply and the addition of single-use plastic reduction to drive waste reduction (E.ON, 2022).
Tumblr media
(Recycling guidelines, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium)
Furthermore, the tactical positioning of large-scaled stadiums as community facilitates after sporting events assists the value proposition of expending emissions. Whilst addressing the multiple environmental sustainability categories such as materials, energy and new design and construction to create multi-purpose stadiums can assist with the overall sustainability outcomes of a stadium (Francis et al., 2023). An exceptional example of sustainability practises being demonstrated by stadiums is the Olympic Park Stadium situated in East London. The innovative arena was re-purposed after the 2012 (London) Olympics and became the home stadium to West Ham United. The Olympic Park Stadiums unique design elements saw the central structure built in the shape of bowl which was positioned beneath the ground. This minimised the need for external construction materials reducing emissions. Additionally, during this construction period 800,000 tonnes of soil was excavated and re-used across Olympic Park (Climate Home News, 2012).
Tumblr media
(Birds Eye view, Olympic Park, 2012)
Chard & Mallen (2013) highlight that numerous sports stadiums are introducing environmental programs via installation energy efficient lighting and automation systems to reduce energy usage. Notable actions to reduce energy usage was demonstrated via solar roof panels consisting of semitransparent materials allowing the transmission of natural light into the stadium. The introduction of these panels saved over 20% of annual energy costs. Likewise, to the ground-breaking stadium in Amsterdam fulfilling its sustainability endeavours is the Amsterdam Area home to Dutch Football side Ajax. The stadiums implementation of wind turbines, 4,200 solar panels and an energy storage system powered by second-hand batteries from electric cars. Further methods of sustainability at the Amsterdam Arena is presented via the stadiums rooftop filtration system used to water the pitch and can store residual heat used to ensure frost during the winter months is minimised. Both these methods of sustainability go towards the reduction in energy usage highlighting the multiple ways the stadium practises sustainability (Football Ground Guide, 2024).

Photovoltaikanlage - wie rechnet sich die Installation?
Tumblr media
Translate from finanztip
即使您与 ExtraEnergie GmbH(包括 ExtraEnergie、Extragrün、HitEnergie、Prioenergie 等供应商)签订了电力或天然气合同,也会有新的集体诉讼。

Energy bills: standing charges are not standing still
Despite a 12.3% cut in April’s energy price cap, there is an important fixed element in your bill that is rising again * April falls? Four areas where UK bills are destined to drop * Council tax, broadband … how to weather the April price rises “Great news! Your unit rates are going down.” E.ON’s letter to customers starts with glad tidings – but, as it soon admits, there is an element of their bills that is set to go up in most parts of the country. Despite a headline cut of 12.3% in April’s energy price cap, yet again standing charges are rising. In E.ON’s case, on its Next Flex tariff, electricity charges are due to rise from 62.205p to 67.9041p – an increase of just over 9% – while for gas, charges go up from 29.595p to 31.894p (up almost 8%).
