of all the people in the world to be on a date with, woori never imagined she would end up with taehun. she was eager to meet him ever since she knew she could and she planned the words on her mind a few times, a casual encounter like one they both never knew that could happen. instead it was a little bit orchestrated by her and his very own ex. but it definitely wasn't suppose to go like that, none of it was, this had to be the worst first date ever. she was already embarrassed enough about it, did he even had to call it out loud? woori didn't knew if he gained points for reading her mind or if he lost it for the very same reason, regardless she wanted to go home and yell at nicky on the phone for ever convincing this was a good idea in the first place.

it all started when nicky and woori met at 1night a few months ago, the connection was instant. woori always dreamed of making nicky her friend because she really admired her ever since she saw her on television for the first time, she started following her on instagram and then just waited for the perfect opportunity to introduce herself, turns out that wasn't even needed because apparently nicky also followed her so it was destined to be. she might already be drunk when she mentioned how much she loved her relationship with taehun, they laughed a lot that day and she doesn't even remember why. the important thing to notice it's that the conversation didn't stop there, they continued to talk and meet often for drinks, gossip and shopping. they even got clicked having lunch which made people question if woori was gay, to which both of them a laugh. but that very same rumor was the one that set woori on the path that she founds herself now. after nicky questioned why she wasn't dating anyone to which woori replayed that it was hard to find someone like taehun just laying around, making her friend say something like "well, then have the only taehun that exists.".

conversation comes and goes now she is here, fumbling her first date ever. like ever. not only with taehun. she didn't want to sound like a loser by saying that through a text so she never said at all, worst come to it she just thought they might met for sex and that's it. but no, he actually wanted to get to know her and that came as a surprise, so much so that she started acting weird which might have gave him the impression that she wasn't attracted to him. how could she even let that happen? she once dreamed about his shirtless scene on the tv show he met nicky. now they were walking back to his car on silence, she kept looking through the bushes and buildings, thinking someone might capture a picture of them even though they were walking a bit apart from each other. still, that was enough to make an article about how she was a homewrecker, going after her friend ex's. was that was she was worried about? well, she was twenty, famous and never had a boyfriend, she was worried about many things.

"look... let's get back into your car." she avoided the question for a few minutes, until they finally crawled into his car. thankfully he was parked in a private place so there was not the possibility of undesirable viewers in sight. now finally sited, woori took a chance to look at taehun behind the wheel. that's when her anxious mind started racing, as soon as he came to pick her up, looking incredibly dashing driving his fancy sports car. making her doubt if she was ever enough to his standards. now, thinking about it, she didn't know how could she be so stupid in the first place. she was way more famous than him and way hotter, she had the upper hand from the start. the very thought made woori laugh, hard and loud. well, to him if she wasn't weird enough before now she was not only weird but also crazy. "oh my god! i don't know why i'm laughing. i'm an idiot and i'm sorry." she fumbled through her words, looking at his worried face made her want to act. when she finally controlled her laugh, her body half jumped from her seat and her head found his, close enough now to taste his breath with a smile still on her face. "i do like you." then her lips met his in quick peck, she didn't want to open her eyes again so she kissed him again, for real this time. the kiss a little rushed but it was a damn good one, he was just great at it was she imagined he would be and afterwards they were both hot and messy. "do you believe me now?"

"Red-Hot Romance? Lando Norris Seen Leaving Vegas Party With Same Mystery Woman as Before — Are They Hooking Up or Dating?"

In a city where parties never cease, it seems that Formula 1 driver Lando Norris just can't get enough of nightlife. Just a week after being spotted leaving a Vegas party with a mysterious red head, the 24-year-old was seen doing the exact same thing once again! It's unclear whether Norris and the red head are just having a little fun or if a deeper relationship is brewing, but we're sure his fans are keeping a close eye to see what happens next.

She makes her way to the kitchen, the cool marble flooring against her feet waking her up almost instantaneously.

The morning starts with her on call with her manager, arranging her private jet to leave as soon as possible while she raids lando's fridge in hopes of food. I guess a kinder egg still counts?

Chomping into the chocolate she quietly (but quickly) gathers her things and leaves his appartment, praying she doesn't get spotted by any paparazzi. If there's one thing she learnt the hard way it's that boys are no good.

“Truth or dare, Sophia?” says a drunk frat boy. You’re barely paying attention to the game. Instead you are focusing on the music that plays. You listen as it goes from The Killers to Kendrick Lamar. And from Kendrick to Dua Lipa. And from Dua to…

“Y/n?” Your friend, Wanda, pulls you out of your trance. 

“Truth or dare?” you hear a dude ask. The voice belongs to Thor, who definitely falls under the dumb jock stereotype. He’s not mean, but he also isn’t nice. It’s his ego that repels you.

“Dare,” you say without hesitation.

“Hmm,” he pretends to think. You already know he’s gonna tell you to kiss him. It’s written all over his face for one, he’s giving you major ‘fuck me’ eyes. “Kiss me,” and there it is. You walk over to him, grab him by the cheek, and connect your lips to his. It starts to get awkward for everyone as he sticks his tongue in your mouth as far as it will go. Not wanting to continue this uncomfortable embrace, you pull back and return to the spot beside Wan. Drinking your vodka and cranberry juice, you dare her to take a shot. 

As the game goes on you think about things. Like all those times Jane, your roommate, mentioned she had a thing for Thor. Well by the looks of it, he does not feel the same way. He’s a player and she should know that. The only reason he kissed you was the hope of sex. He’s not a keeper, so no, you don’t feel bad about your dare.

A half hour goes by and the game finally ends, leaving you to go back to your house. When suddenly, Thor pops by your side. “Can I walk you home?” He asks.

“Uhh, sure,” you give him a slight smile. A walk home is innocent, and you like the sound of having a football player by your side as you travel across campus in the dark. 

“So, I know we haven’t really talked that much, but I think you’re really cool and pretty, and maybe sometime we can go on a date.” He takes you by surprise, maybe Jane was right. Honestly, you had never expected the word date to come out of his mouth, and it’s really making you want him. What girl doesn’t like a little bit of attention?

“You know what, I’d really like that, but my friend is sorta in love with you.”

“Who,  Jane?”

“Yeah” You feel kinda wrong for telling him, but you’re not in middle school and it seems like he already knows. Your friendship with Jane is pretty superficial, she really just uses you for your notoriety among male students. But you’re not complaining, her dad pays for your housing. Of course you offered to pay your share, but he insisted.

“Wow, you’re a really good friend, sorry I don’t mean to make you feel pressured.”

“No, don’t feel bad. Shit, I made this awkward.”

He chuckles. “No you didn’t, just, I shouldn’t have asked you out” For three minutes, the two of you walk in silence. But being a good person was never your strong-suit. 

“What you said it isn’t true, I’m not a good friend.” He raises his eyebrows in curiosity. As you approach your doorway, your lips run to his, leaving the two of you making out right in front of your rental. His tongue is much more calculated than it was at the party, and his hands start to squeeze your ass. That’s when you pull back. You can’t do this.

“I’m sorry,” you say, disappointment evident in your tone. This is just wrong, you’re a horrible friend. You run to your door and slam the it shut. What the fuck did you just do? As you melt into the wall, struggling to breathe, you see Jane with the angriest expression you’ve ever seen. “Jane, I’m so sorry. I don’t even know why I did that.” 

Suddenly, your home is filled with screams of disappointment, anger, sadness, jealousy, and just about every negative emotion known to man. “GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!” And you don’t bother reasoning with her, she will always get her way.

45. Dua Lipa - Training Season

My Dua hot take is that Training Season would have been a better lead single to save the album campaign than Houdini. A more accomplished and substantial song, it trades off of its hooks rather than a groove and might easily have caught a few more ears early on before everything went down the toilet. As it is it still stands as one of her best singles, the clipped rhythmic guitar building up a tension which is blasted away by its disco showtune chorus.

44. Halsey - The Great Impersonator

While recently derided for having ‘main character syndrome’ (having committed the great crime of writing about her brush with severe illness), I’ve found Halsey’s candour about her problems both refreshing and identifiable. On this, the closer from her LP of the same name, she's still reflecting on an end that’s averted for now but is resigned to her eventual doom, wondering “does a story die with it narrator?” over a backing delicate and playful enough to undercut some of the heavier implications. A bittersweet joy from start to finish.

43. Georgie and Joe - Student

A light, airy dance bop from an act who I know absolutely nothing about. Like most of my club tunes it sounds very 90s in its way: those little stabs of synth feel quite rave culture to me, but I like the shuffling garage beat too and there’s a melodic lightness that comes off like Aphex Twin in his more delicate moments. My first feeling with this was that it’s quite a basic sort of thing but there’s a song in there if you listen closely enough, with the vocal that drifts thru the track sounding almost disembodied enough to form part of the scenery.

42. JADE - Angel Of My Dreams

(Shout out to my) ex-Little Mixer JADE’s long awaited solo debut seemed to look at the failures of her former bandmates and say fuck it, we may as well go all out. There’s something a little bit k-pop in here, a certain trashiness that feels almost arch, but the key thing that comes off of it is a wild momentum, the way you careen thru the verses, roll up at the mannered, almost prissy chorus and then go off hard again into a whirlpool of bass. A brave marker to set down and, regardless of anything else, an absolute tune.

41. Bebe Rexha - Chase It

I didn’t really like last year’s Bebe LP but this was a strong comeback, one of a couple of brilliant but brief club bangers she released in 2024. Chase It recasts Bebe as a hot n messy party girl (again?) but the key moment is the chorus, where the music steps back and the beat comes in incredibly hard, alongside her “mmm da da da” hook and the endearingly dumb neck dancing choreo. She seems to have been floundering a bit in recent times but an album full of these would be something worth waiting for.

40. Post Malone ft Morgan Wallen - I Had Some Help

A problematic artist has hit the top 40 (there will be more), tho tbf Wallen isn’t in charge of this show, functioning more as a bit of authenticity dressing to let Posty into a country world that might otherwise have stayed closed to him. In fact the real star of this show is the unbelievably catchy hook that runs throughout the song, a guitar line and vocal melody that rang out of radios for months on end and left me agog, both at how ecstatically happy it made me feel and how easily it transmuted the whiny bloke narrative here into something I was comfortable enough to sing along to.

39. Billie Eilish - Chihiro

Billie’s album sometimes felt to me like a lot of flash and less substance but Chihiro found her at her best, a lowkey electronic rumble that gets into the mumbling, hypnotic territory of some of her best material. Occasionally fizzing over after sustained periods of steady building, Chihiro feels as planned in its way as other parts of Hit Me Hard And Soft just felt thrown together, an example of the subtle but devastating songcraft that she and Finneas are capable of.

38. Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso

Sabrina’s four quadrant megahit took its cue from the kind of post disco 80s funk that Doja Cat so effectively mined on Say So, reanimating it with enough soft sexuality and unapologetic goofiness to set up one of the most commercially successful pop eras in recent memory. While her other #1 hits have palled a little as the year went on, this is the one i still can’t stop singing along to even as we move towards the depths of winter. Is it that sweet? I guess so.

As you guys know (by "you guys" I mean the two people who read my post) due recent life events (read: small mental breakdown and new T. Swift album) I have made the terrible decision to start talking to my ex-situationship again (well technically we were never not talking, we just talked way way way less than we did before).

And here I compiled a list of funny and/or ironic things about this whole situation:

We still have a Spotify fusion playlist from when we went on the car, and because our music tastes are so different, there are usually only a couple songs that belong to the both of us. So yesterday I check and the only song in common was New Rules by Dua Lipa, which is just hilariously iconic

When we were "together" I tried to get him to listen to Folklore and Evermore cause he likes that kind of indie music sometimes and I thought it would be could to enjoy them together. He never did. But this past week I have been raging on so much about Tay Tay, that I mentioned again he might like some songs and he asked for 3 recommendations to give it a try. This man not only admitted he quite liked them but proceeded to give me individual analysis of each of them and talk about what they meant and that stuff. THE AUDACITY TO DO THAT NOW!!!

One of the songs was Tolerate it, which is casually one of the songs I listened to and cried to on repeat back in November when we broke up. He did not make the connection to our very one-sided effort relationship.

Today I got him to listen to The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, and before listening he made the following joke "A song name after me haha". He was making a joke about his dick. But for different reasons he could not be more right.

He also had the audacity to like it and quote back to me one of my favourite lyrics in it.

I have now made a playlist with all the ones I think he might enjoy and honestly the amount of them that I have cried with because of him is ironically high

A few days ago he made a memory muscle mistake and called me Sweetie, and then I didn't respond and he profoundly apologised and like, I just completely changed the subject cause how do you answer that?

He also forgot my birthday last month and I am still kinda salty about that even tho we were barely talking but like... He could have remembered... (That one's on me, I'm aware)

Anyway, here is today's public diary entry cause why the hell not, what's the worst that could happen? This goes viral? Hell no!

Just to watch the fire

This post is for future me, when I want to know WHAT WAS MY LIFE LIKE in October of 2024?

For starters, I caught COVID at the top of the month. For the first time! I thought I was SPECIAL. I don't even know how I got it, because my germy 5-year-old tested negative and was promptly whisked away by his Dad to keep him healthy. It felt just like a cold, but losing my sense of taste was a trip. It wasn't completely gone, just... dulled. I ate a lot of protein bars (low effort) and mandarin oranges. I've been negative for a week but I STILL have a scratchy throat.

I've been toying with TikTok but I HATE EDITING VIDEOS so if I don't nail it within the first few tries, I just trash it.

Music League gets a lot of my time and attention.

Phantogram just put out a new album and the second track, "It Wasn't Meant To Be" reminds me of an MTV interstitial that used to air in the wee hours back in the '00s. Does anyone know the one I'm talking about?

I tried Dua Lipa's Diet Coke+pickle juice+jalapeno juice drink and I LOVE IT.

I also tried Dirty Soda (Diet Coke + coffee creamer) and it was OK.

Desmond's favorite song is Hot To Go and he's made me listen to it for 45 minutes straight on a car ride.

I went to NFG's Catalyst Anniversary tour and it was wonderful. I kinda wish it was crowd-surfable, but it was awesome being in the pit at The Wiltern. I don't think I could've done anything but the pit for NFG.

I am not at WWWY this year because EXPENSIVE.

But I am going to buy a Warped Pass for LB when it goes on sale.

Last year the first concert ticket I bought was for K.Flay - this year, the first concert ticket I bought for next year is K.Flay.

It's Ace Awareness Week so I'll probably write or attempt a TikTok about that.
