Me thinking about who else would know about baby Ranboo in the brother au: Techno would know because friendly rivals

Me thinking about how Captain sparkles said that he agreed to Ranboo being his third kid: hm

one day, dream takes ranboo into town for what was supposed to be a fun day at the market. it... doesnt exactly end up being that, mostly because ranboo somehow gets himself almost immediately lost. it's not really his fault, the crowd was huge and hes not super great with faces... or navigating.... or remembering where his brother told him to go if he got lost (was it the bakery? or the blacksmiths? he thinks it was some b-word, maybe)

as hes wandering around on the edge of tears, he ends up smacking straight into someones back. he backs up in a panic, and the man turns around confusedly. the captain looks over the near-crying kid in front of him, and realises 'well..... shoot. I cannot leave this kid here.'

a few hours later, dream bursts through the door of an unfamiliar house in the city, sword in hand, having tracked his brother all the way there. he walks in on ranboo eating a butter tart in the living room, happily chatting with jordan. the captain, cool as a cucumber, just turns to dream and smiles.

dream: what. what's going on here. ranboo, are you okay?

ranboo: yeah, m okay! mr sparklez found me n' took me here n' fed me n' this tart is really good!

dream: h. okay. I. okay.

jordan: he looked pretty upset, and I decided it was better to take him back here than leave him alone. you're lucky to have him as a brother, hes a good kid- unlike some kids I know

dream: uh. thanks, I guess? what did you mean by that last part?

jordan: oh, nothing! anyways, would you like to stay for dinner? its almost ready, and my son should be back from testing his rockets in a bit, and my daughters always.... around. I think shes in the vents right now.

dream: I.

dream: you know what? sure.
