the way that people are actually, legitimately mad and fighting with each other in the notes of the post declaring marceline the winner of the tumblrwoman election is both hilarious and sad to me. i personally think the entire election was flawed from the start due to the purpose of it not really being made clear (causing tons of people to just vote for who they liked more, who they thought was hotter/a better sexywoman, who they thought would win in a fight, etc, and automatically vote against characters who were minors/get mad about minors being included) and joke matchups + real actual people being candidates in place of characters like sailor moon and azula who should've been there--but i am also still glad it happened because the last few days of going through the vriska tag and seeing all the cool fanart and posts about why vriska deserved to win was extremely fun and got me enjoying being a homestuck fan for the first time in years :)

and honestly i wish other fandoms had fun with it like the homestuck fandom did!! i would've loved to see art of marceline celebrating her inevitable victory and being supported by her friends, shego and eda fighting and/or becoming bffs, isabelle and rose tyler having a little friendly rivalry... GLaDOS vs barbie... jessie and james vs bayonetta... eda's reactions to characters like peridot and vriska... vriska vs rainbow dash... so many of these matchups could've produced the greatest fanart but i only saw one miku vs vriska piece for the matchup we were robbed of and two marceline vs vriska pieces! admittedly i'm not in a lot of the fandoms involved so any art that was made may just not have crossed my dash, but there are a lot of fandoms i am in that had characters in the election and i still only ever saw vriska art for it. and now people on opposite sides are getting genuinely mad at each other and accusing each other of voter fraud in the notes? that's really what you're choosing to do here?
