One of the highlights of being an artist is putting your favorite characters in silly little outfits…like dragon onesies 🐲 I wanted to make him a dragon but didn’t feel like drawings scales so this was my solution 🫣 I’ve been calling him Slumber Party Draco to myself like he’s a themed Barbie doll lolol

Some dragons mate for life, others not. Those that do have more things in their nest to attract and gift to their partner of choice.

But there was one problem. He was a dragon, she was not.

Hermione & Her Dragon

It’s been 5 years since the war and Hermione is still working tirelessly with the best curse breakers she can find to try and free Draco from his curse.

During the final battle for Hogwarts, Voldemort witnessed Draco saving Hermione from certain death at the hands of Fenrir Greyback. In retaliation and in punishment for his betrayal, Voldemort cursed Draco to live out the rest of his days as a Dragon. Hermione is desperate to repay him for saving her life and give him a second chance at his own and so she has devoted her life to his cause.

Draco lingers in the Forbidden Forest, slowly succumbing to his new form and forgetting the man he once was. He is cursed to live out the rest of his life as a Dragon and cursed to witness the heartbreak in Hermione’s eyes every time she comes to visit him without a way to save him.

Gradually the light is leaving her as she exhausts all of her options. She is losing him. He is losing himself. He can’t bear to witness or be the cause of her heartbreak and sadness any longer. He decides to leave whilst he still has the presence of mind to make that decision for himself and whilst he can be sure that he’s not going to forget who she is and risk harming her.

On silent wings he takes to the sky, flying over the Castle where Hermione sleeps soundly in the Faculty Tower. His silver tears fall against her window pane and leave glistening tracks in their wake.

Hermione stands in the empty clearing of the Forbidden Forest and calls and calls for Draco. She stumbles through the darkening undergrowth, eyes blurry with tears as she screams for him until her voice is hoarse.

“How dare you give up on me, Draco Malfoy!” she howls into the wind. “How dare you give up on us.” Her voice breaks on the final word as all of her hopes and dreams shatter around her.

Listen I stumbled upon Carpathian by @niffizzle and it’s so good. And I think I’ve seen like one person talk about it ever and for WHAT? Because it’s so good. Like plot? Good. Draco? Great. Hermione? Also great. And it DIDNT emotionally devastated me.

She cleared her throat before reaching into her bookbag and withdrawing one of the shiny, gold galleons. Malfoy raised a brow as she offered it to him.

“Thanks, Granger, but I think you might’ve heard, I’m just fine on money.”

Hermione rolled her eyes and thrust it into his hand, ignoring the warmth of his skin against hers. Flashbacks of last night threatened to escape their tightly fastened boxes, but she warded them off, knowing they had far too important issues to discuss for her to be distracted by Malfoy’s fingers. Warm and soft as they were.

“It’s charmed,” she said, refocusing.

“I didn’t pay it a compliment,” Malfoy deadpanned.

I had every. single. warning. available to me before reading "Secrets and Masks" (without ever being spoiled somehow). In fact, that's why I avoided it for years. I KNOW BETTER. I'm a weak little worm.

But sometimes you just wake up and choose violence. It's elite... of course. Genuinely one of the best I've ever read (I needed the best because "Green Light" has left me bereft for months).

Anyway, I'm on chapter 64 soaked in tears, completely aghast, asking how the hell this is happening to me rn.
