Why is the petting zoo unlock so quick?
Petting Luke is fine he's your childhood friend and a puppy but Artem is your boss and you just met Vyn
At least Marius is flirty so it makes sense if the relationship progress so quick
Petting Artem is really awkward because he keeps asking what are you doing and the setting is your boss office
It feels like I'm playing an overly ambitious gold digger sexy secretary that should look like Celestine instead of Your Name
Then you unlock the Sweet Memories and all of them started by stating they're your boyfriend now
The frick
So it's not just a time jump compared to where I am in the main story but also 4 parallel universes of alternate futures
I know because this is an eternal game you can't just finish the game and then reset it to try different routes but this is immersion breaking
So I'm not playing SM just yet

I once had this thought: If I were to write an Ace Attorney AU/crossover of ToT, Marius would 100% be Rosa's assistant. They bounce ideas off each other all the time, and Rosa's brilliance shines best when they're paired together. Every other love interest somewhat eclypses her, while investigating with Marius actually does feel like teamwork. When this dynamic includes romance elements you get TV shows like Castle or Lucifer. I mean, all three of them are eccentric rich dudes who decide to work as consultants to solve murders. Also, he's the only love interest that has been accused of murder. Considering Maya Fey's track record, he fits the profile to a T lol.
As for the others, Artem feels like the tutorial's assistant. Reliable and kind (except for you-know-who and Phoboenix), but the game only kicks off once they are no longer available to the player for whatever circumstances. If they hung around too long, it would dim the spotlight meant for the main character. You don't want to have a legal Deus Ex Machina hanging around your budding attorney MC. The only way for her to grow is to step out of Artem's umbrella.
Luke is a mix of Ema Skye and Shi-Long Lang. He's alright for a case or two, but the forensic elements can get tedious pretty fast, which creates a clusterfuck, like with AA1's Rise of the Ashes. Also, it feels like he's the one 'in charge'. Maybe not of the investigation as a whole, but he often gets reduced to playing bodyguard, which is an awful choice, narratively speaking. Why make the MC stagger on the tightrope when everyone is aware there's a safety called Luke right by her side, ready to catch her? In most circumstances there's just no real tension. There's a reason why Sherlock Holmes is the main character of all his stories, even if they are written from the perspective of Dr. Watson. Having the protagonist reduced to playing a support role constantly is one of the most boring things an author can do.
As to investigating with Vyn, it feels a lot like facing prosecutor Blackquill in a trial. You know he's gonna mess with your head, the suspect's head, witnesses, the judge and fuck, even the entire gallery is going to be subjected to his mind games now. You have a theory? Oh, great. Allow him to guide you into talking yourself out of it. Wait does that mean he knows who the culprit is? Of course he does, but seeing you struggle to put the pieces together is far more entertaining than giving you any hints because he's a lovable, sadistic little fucker... All the time, he's toying with the MC and, by extension, the reader. Rather than working as a consultant (or a prosecutor, in Blackquill's case), he's just a psychology expert that feels the need to actively poke and prod every single person related to the case because he finds it entertaining.
He's a spider, and everyone he comes across gets added onto its web of deceptions and obscurantism. Which is exactly why I'll never stop comparing Vyn to Hannibal Lecter. He might no eat people keyword being might cause idk man, but c'mon. "Genius psychiatrist of noble birth. He solves murders as a hobby while actively fucking with people's heads in the process and is a shady, cryptic lil' fuck. Oh, he also for some reason really enjoys cooking! Yum!" It's just such a very niche trope. It can't be a frigging coincidence, can it?!?
marius von hagen is such a refreshing character to do investigations with cuz,, there's no sense of being being below him or above him.
like with luke, he knows mc can get to their own conclusions but why should they? he can do the heavy work!
with vyn, it's more of mc playing catch up so that he can show off to mc. he already has the whole thing figured out, he's just waiting on mc to come to their own conclusion so that he can either correct them or show off.
with artem, and i mean this lovingly, he's also making mc play a bit of catch up but bc he's acting a bit as a teacher. artem guides mc to the answer, but it's a bit different as he's waiting for them to move on together.
marius works in tandem. he's with mc every step of the way and tells him what they think. while all boys do listen to their theories, marius is actively throwing counterpoints without sugarcoating it.
idk i just think marius is a very good investigation partner

➽ Things NXX members do when you get sick
Tumblr media
Warnings: established relationships, character and reader live together, pure fluff, SFW, reader doesn’t have to be Rosa, gn reader
Word count: 754
A/N: some fluff to clear my thoughts and make me less stressed TT, I’m in love with all of them.
Luke Pearce
Tumblr media
A little panicked, as soon as you stumbled out of your room to go on about your day, your face flushed for no apparent reason he yelped, “No way you’re going anywhere today! You’re staying at home and recovering!”
Literally rushes to the convenience store nearby to buy you medicine. You wake up from your nap to see him drenched in sweat with a plastic bag in his hand and a smile on his face.
Knows your favorite foods that you eat when you're sick and tries his best to make it but, well, he’s not the best cook. So he buys some instead.
He makes sure that you take your medicines on time and always stays by your side.
Drowns you in hugs and kisses, no matter what you say or do can make him stop. “Luke! You’re going to get sick as well!” he continues to drown you in love and affection.
Such a cutie, trying his best to take care of you. Cheers you up by telling stories, either from his past or funny stories of you guys.
Artem Wing
Tumblr media
Immediately pulls you back to bed as soon as he feels your temperature. “You have a fever. You need to stay home and rest.”
A lot calmer than Luke or Marius.
Has basic medicine at home, since he’s a workaholic he takes medicine and works from home. Quickly drives to the nearest convenience store to buy more medicine, if needed. He won’t do anything like that to you though. Insists you stay in bed.
Offers to clear up work or studies for you if on a deadline or urgent.
Home cooked meals, he’s a great cook, I just know it.
Such a serious and worried cutie, tries his best to help. Offers his arm for support wherever you go and feeds you water every 30 minutes.
Vyn Richter
Tumblr media
Notices something is off almost instantly. “You don’t look so well.” “I’m fine.” after a few moments of silence, and of him inspecting you, “You’re sick. You need to rest.”
Definitely the calmest in the group. I mean he’s a doctor. Psychiatrist, but he still has the general medical knowledge.
Has ALL the medicine you need, throat lozenges? check. Tylenol for headaches? check. No convenience store run for him.
Brews you herbal tea depending on your symptoms and omg are they delicious and cures your sore throat almost instantaneously. Reminds you to take your medicine on time, never misses one.
Acts as an actual doctor in hopes of cheering you up, “It seems like you’ve been overworked for too long, too much stress. I prescribe you 3-5 days of rest.” “Yes, Dr. Richter~” you play along, having fun.
Marius von Hagen
Tumblr media
At first he panicked when he felt your body rising in temperature. “Ah! Jiejie, why’re you so hot?” You laugh at his wording, even if your throat hurts. “I know I’m hot, but thanks for the reassurance” you tease him back. “You have a fever, Jiejie!” he says, touching your forehead, ignoring what you just said.
Such a drama queen. Has Payton bring every single medicine they could find in that huge mansion of his as well as send Payton to go buy every single medicine on the shelf of the nearby convenience store.
Was about to call the ambulance, which you refused of course, “It’s just a fever! Rest and water is all I need!” He insists on driving you to the hospital. After a talk with Payton, both of you begging Marius that it’s not that bad, he reluctantly agrees.
He contacts AT LEAST 3 doctors to come immediately to treat you. All of this makes you even more tired, you decide to lie down and take a break from all of his… worried actions…
He finally finds you in his room, all wrapped up and sleeping. He stays by your side the whole time, offering help when not even needed.
“Where are you going?” “To the toilet.” “Let me help.” He helps bring you to the toilet, just as you step inside he doesn’t leave. You raise an eyebrow. “Um?” “I can help!” “I don’t need help anymore! I can pee by myself!” “but-” “Marius, get out!” ”forgive him. He just worries about you <3
Once you get better though, ohoho, he’s teasing you about this every chance he gets. You soon miss the quiet days of your fever and how he was always worried and listening to you. Now he’s back to his teasing and antics.

Hello, may I request headcanons for the NXX boys when they hear reader (who isn't mc) that usually only addresses them by their last name calls them by their first name for the first time, while giving a heartfelt compliment with the softest and sweetest expression?
Bonus if they're normally shy yet silly in general. Another bonus is if they did it without realizing it and immediately fluster when they realise what they did, and puff their cheeks when in denial when called out upon.
Thank you!
"Thank you so much! Luke, you're a lifesaver!"
A wave of relief washed over you as Luke repaired the final piece on your drawer. You still weren't sure how you'd ripped the cabinets clean off their hinges, but all that mattered was that your friend Mr. Pearce, antique repairer extraordinaire, had come to your rescue.
Mr. Pearce.
Luke Pearce.
You hadn't realized how casually his name had slipped out of your mouth until it was too late. "I... Um... Mr. Pearce! Thank you!"
Humbly you bowed your head. You could feel the heat rising in your cheeks, and you could only imagine how much you resembled a boiling lobster right about now. Cautiously, you tilted your chin up just enough to get a peek at the brunet's face, only to find...
That he looked just as flustered as you.
His gaze darted to the floor. "L-Luke..." He stumbled over his own name, and you could have sworn you saw him bite his tongue in his own embarrassed frustration. "Luke is fine. Great, actually." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Because... we're friends, aren't we?"
His eyes flickered back to you, aglow with the warmth of a fireplace but the intensity of a bonfire.
"At least, I've been trying to put down clues that show you I consider you a dear friend."
~♡~♡~♡~♡~
"You tend to these all by yourself? I can tell how much love you pour into your garden, Vyn!"
Awestruck by the vast array of flora and foliage before you, the words fluttered from your lips before you had a chance to truly think about them.
Of course, you meant what you said! When Dr. Richter had invited you to see a garden, you were excited at the prospect of going to fancy botanical gardens. When he mentioned it was his own personal garden, a healthy dose of curiosity sprouted alongside your eagerness to see his home. Now, upon seeing how beautiful his "humble" garden was, you were impressed and delighted.
But as a moment passed without any response from the gardener himself, you began to worry that you'd said something inappropriate. "Don't tell me, is Dr. Richter bad with prai--"
You clapped your hands over your mouth and began bowing rapidly, bobbing up and down and up and down.
"Dr. Vyn! I mean, Dr. Richter! I'm so sorry! That was super informal and super rude of me! Oh, Dr. Richter, I can't apologize enough!"
A gentle hand came to rest upon the top of your head, stopping you in your tracks.
"Now, while I'm qualified to treat them, I'd appreciate if you didn't give yourself a concussion from whipping your head up and down so many times." He chuckled softly as you rose to a full standing position again, then gave you a gentle pat.
"Raised them with love, you say?" he murmured. "I don't know if I'd put it that way. I'm simply following standard guidance and instructions for each and every species of flower." He pursed his lips for a second, then continued. "But if tending to flowers is anything like tending to people in need of tender love and care..." He turned to look at you, and his golden eyes glinted in the sunlight.
"Then I'm sure you have quite the green thumb yourself."
~♡~♡~♡~♡~
"This is the best grilling I've ever tasted in my life, Artem!"
You had barely spared a second to sing the attorney's praises before digging back into your meal.
When you'd fallen ill with the latest seasonal flu, you had messaged him as a courtesy to let him know you wouldn't be able to meet him this weekend as planned. You certainly hadn't expected the star of Themis Law Firm to offer to bring you some food. You were less prepared when he said he was going to cook it himself, asking for your favorite foods and flavors.
Least of all did you expect his food to be so delicious!
'Never judge a book by its cover,' you thought as you devoured another spoonful. 'I just didn't expect Mr. Wing of all people to have the time to learn to cook so well!'
You peeked up at him, concerned that he hadn't responded yet. He probably wasn't the type who received compliments often; he seemed like the type who intimidated others. Respected, but never appreciated in this way.
"Your cheeks are really red. Are you catching a fever from me?"
Wildfire had spread across his face, from the tips of his ears to the tip of his nose. If he got sick because he was taking care of you, you'd never forgive yourself!
"You... perhaps need more rest," is all that he said in response. "But..." He smiled gently at you.
"If a flu is what it takes for you to loosen up around me, I can't truthfully say that I'm upset about it."
~♡~♡~♡~♡~
"You designed this? Marius, you're a creative genius!"
Your jaw dropped as you absorbed the details in the painting before you. The effect was almost reminiscent of a stained glass window, with the way the colors and strokes created a mosaic image. You could easily see this hanging up in a museum or even a church.
But like a dog who received one treat and was desperate for more, the painter turned to you with big, pleading eyes and whimpered, "I couldn't hear that. Could you repeat it, please? For me?"
He wasn't usually this pathetic. "I said you're a creative genius!" You folded your arms over your chest. "Don't make me take back the genius part."
"No, no~ Before that."
Before that? What exactly had you said that brought this CEO to wag his tail so desperately?
Realization struck you like lightning and you spun away from him instantly. "Mr. von Hagen, it's very unprofessional to tease me like this!"
You could almost feel the mood shift as Marius deflated behind you. "Aww, you were being so friendly a minute ago," he whined. "Even calling me Marius~ Marmar~ Mariri~"
"I didn't use any stupid nicknames!" you protested, whirling to face him with flustered tears stinging your eyes. "You're such a pain in the neck, Marius!"
He perked up immediately. "Oh! There it is again! We are close, aren't we?" He leaned forward, the corners of his mouth turned up into a cheeky grin as he batted his eyelashes at you.
With a huff, you shifted your attention back to the painting. "On second thought, I think this is too abstract for the exhibition. I guess Pax can't host it after all."
"Whaaaat? Now that's just too cold!"

Ticklish Vyn Richter x Reader
Romantic + 47. “I wasn’t even touching you.” Requested by anon for my 1K Followers Event🌻
Tumblr media
It was still early and the scent of coffee and baked egg still lingered in your apartment as you cleaned up the kitchen.
You hummed and thought about today's plans. "Vyn, will you join me to the store today? I need to get some groceries."
"Sure thing." Vyn stood right by your side to help you clean up and -
"AHh!" you suddenly yelped and pulled your arms back immediately. The salt which you were trying to put on the top shelf fell from your hands, and you watched how the little container fell on the floor, scattering the contents all over.
Vyn stared at it. "I guess we need new salt too," he said dryly. You sighed.
"I'm sorry about that," you whined, and you kneeled down to clean up the mess.
"What happened anyway? Did I startle you?" Vyn asked. You blushed.
"I thought... I thought you were going to tickle me. Silly, right?"
You glanced shyly at his reaction, and he chuckled.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Did you want me to?"
"No! You just moved your hand like that, and my arms were up and... it's a normal reflex, don't worry about it."
"I think it's because you're just too ticklish," Vyn said teasingly. You gasped and blushed even more.
"Dr. Vyn, as a psychiatrist you should know everything about human reactions like this. It's called anticipation. A-anyone would've reacted like this."
"Only anyone who's as ticklish as you are. Very true, sweetie."
You held back a laugh. Sometimes Vyn was just too smug and teasy. Such a know-it-all. You interrupted the salt-cleaning by grabbing his wrist, and you pulled him up. You cornered him against the kitchen counter and looked at him intensely.
"I'll show you. Here. Arms up."
Vyn stared at you. "And if I don't want to?"
You rolled your eyes. "Then I'll say you're a childish doctor who can't prove he's right. So, arms up!"
Vyn, though still smirking and looking way too confident, raised his arms.
"I think you're actually being the childish one here, but I won't say it. So, like this?" He put his hands behind his head.
You nodded. "That's more like a model pose, but sure. So I move my hands like this," you said, moving your hands closer to his exposed torso.
Shit. He didn't even twitch! He cocked his head. "And then what?" he asked.
"And then..." You moved your hands even closer. Damn, was it really just you? Too ticklish to even get someone's hand close to you whenever you lift your arms without activating your jumpy reflexes? You knew Vyn was ticklish too. Maybe not as bad as you were, but you really thought he'd react.
Hm... You wiggled your fingers experimentally. Now that worked. Vyn lowered his arms in surprise.
"What's wrong? I wasn’t even touching you." Now it was your turn to be smug. Vyn glared at you.
"I didn't wiggle my fingers. It doesn't count," he said, grabbing your hand and intertwining your fingers to make you stop wiggling them right next to him.
"Oh but it does count. I was proving to you that reacting because of anticipating tickles could happen to anyone. Unless... you fall in the same category as me? Are you that ticklish as well? I don't recall it," you teased, and you were pleased when you successfully landed an attack: you brought your free hand to his side and started to tickle.
"Hehehey! Don't - now y-you're just beheing- ahhhahah!" Vyn giggled. Cute. He dropped your other hand and tried to catch the tickly one, not realizing he freed your hand to do just the same. Now you could tickle him with both hands, and Vyn wiggled charmingly against the kitchen counter.
"I'm just being ahahah? I'm afraid I do not understand, doctor," you sang. Vyn's reflex was taking him further back into the kitchen in a cute ticklish dancing routine. You chuckled when you flexibly hopped around the salt on the floor while he pranced right through it with his bare feet.
"Right through the salt you go," you giggled, catching him again when he couldn't go further. Then when you managed to dig both your claws into his tummy from behind, you really had him. Your lover thought he could tease you about being ticklish without consequences? Think again!
"Okahahay! Point mahahade! Now s-stohohop!" Vyn laughed. Usually strong enough to pin you down and tickle you to tears, Vyn actually didn't seem able to shake you off him right now. You couldn't believe you hadn't tried to tickle him before. Well, at least not like this.
You had sometimes given him a soft tickle here and there, a little poke or some flirty things like sliding your finger down his back, enough to make him gasp or giggle, but it'd usually result in just a mild reaction and your own downfall.
What a nice discovery on a plain Saturday morning!
"Ihihif you d-don't stop hehe- I'll-!" You didn't let him finish and managed to twirl him around so you could stand on your toes to kiss him.
Vyn laughing like this really had made you fall in love with him even more. You felt him relax, as did your fingers on his sides. You wrapped your arms around his middle. Pressing your body against him, you really were getting ready to taste more of him. But no making out was going to happen the moment Vyn buried his fingers under your arms.
"HNGah!" You jumped with your arms still around him, and your eyes widened in realization.
"I was going to say... If you don't stop, I'll get you back twice as much. Did you want that to happen?" Vyn asked in such a stern voice it sounded sexy.
"I.... I stohohopped!" you laughed, but Vyn was already tickling you. Well, that was bound to happen, and soon you sank through your knees and literally went rolling through the salt, squealing and cackling while Vyn had his well-deserved revenge.
Oh well, adding this salty tickle fight to your romantic experiences with Vyn Richter... you couldn't really complain!

First Dates (Luke, Marius, Artem, Vyn)
Cw: Fluff
NXX boys x Fem! Reader
REQUESTS ARE OPEN
Luke
Luke’s style seems to gravitate towards stuff like them park dates and county fair dates, so that’s what he does for your first
He picks you up early on a Saturday morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. You're almost annoyed because no one should be so perky before 10 am in the morning. And he doesn’t need coffee rude
The two of you stop for a quick breakfast before descending on the theme park
After that you run through the usual culprits: twirly rides, house of mirrors, a couple roller coasters (before lunch, not after), pretending to be scared at the haunted house rides
he shows off his aim at some of the game booths winning you exactly what you want
You even manage to convince him to do face painting with you
In all honesty, it feels like being kids again. Except kids don’t hold hands and find secluded areas to make out
In the evening you find a nice little hill--scratch that, the two of you are definitely sitting next to each other on the Farris wheel while you watch the fireworks
Marius
A date with Marius is upscale. You definitely need a fancy dress which he has no problems paying for
It comes in two parts
First he takes you to an art gallery. One he totally rented out for the night
You’re more than happy to watch him smile and talk about his art. He always lights up and sometimes loses that mask of the rich little shit and it is a treat
You spend several hours there, but he’s mindful of your comfort. Heels are a bitch to walk in for long periods of time.
When you’re ready to leave, Marius takes you to a super fancy restaurant. You went a little pale when you saw where you were going, then reminded you that Marius has the money to volunteer to give you ridiculously expensive dogs. A private reservation overlooking a quiet park is no biggie for Mr. Acting President von Hagen.
All in all, it’s very nice. You can’t get out of being the object of his teasing and no matter how fancy the joint, he still gets full named.
Artem
A first date with Artem is classic. Dinner and a movie.
The two of you ended up going back and forth about who picked the movie and diner, eventually settling on you picking the movie while he picked the diner.
You did your research and picked something that would appeal to both of you. A reshowing of a timeless chick flick: The Titanic (Is the Titanic a classic in 2030?)
Artem makes sure he has plenty of tissues he knows you’re prone to crying at the end
Afterwards, you two have an in depth debate over whether Jack and Rose would have both fit on the door. He tells you that if that ever happens, he’ll make sure both of you survive.
For diner Artem takes you to a nice Mom-and-Pop restaurant. It turns out he’s been going there since he was a kid and the proprietors are really happy to see that “Artie finally found himself a nice girl. It’s about time.”
Despite their gentle teasing, the food there really is some of the best you’ve ever had
Of course, Artem drives you home himself and walks you to the door
Vyn
And last, but never least Vyn “here are my red flags” Richter
On the scale of fancy to classic to casual, Vyn ends up bringing you on a date that rates somewhere between fancy and classic. It’s classy, it’s upscale, but it’s not oozing “I run a conglomerate” either
He takes you to see a ballet or an Opera. Swan lake, maybe, Something refined, much like your date
Of course, you have very good seats. Vyn wouldn’t have anything else.
After the show, you go to a quiet, but upscale restaurant. It’s one well known for it’s wine, which the guy is an absolute stickler for.
Vyn is a complete gentleman the entire time. Really, he always is. Treating you with nothing but the utmost respect, despite his concerning manipulative tendencies and you enjoy seeing a glimpse of what Vyn is like when you’re not calling him Dr. Richter.

I had a dream of Vyn Richter from Tears of Themis t-posing over Artem Wing and Dr. Ratio from Honkai Star Rail because he has two doctorate degrees and he needs to establish authority.
How many doctorates does Dr. Ratio have? Will it be enough to withstand Vyn?

Hi! Could I maybe get Vyn with pink? (Carnations if possible, since they are my favorite flowers, but ignore it a different flat would be better) Thank you very much!
thank you a thousand - vyn richter x reader
Tumblr media
"Hey, are you at work still?"
You raise a brow. "I just got off... is something wrong, Dr. Richter?"
"I'm here to take you home."
"Oh, how sweet... how did you know I didn't drive?"
"Beloved..."
"Alright, alright." You chuckle. "I'll be right down."
You're greeted by pink carnations, Vyn's ears tinted a similar pink as he smiles at you and holds them out in the car.
You reach past the flowers for Vyn instead, lips pressed to his gently as you take the bouquet and settle down in the passenger seat.
"Thank you, Vynnie." You grin.
"Only the best for you."

Compartmentalize (NSFW)
A/N: Aaaa I've been gone for some time (was busy with doing my urban fantasy AU found here), and I haven't been active in my socials including Twitter...I hope I can muster the will to do housekeeping and updating links. RL stuff is just getting a bit too much these days...
NSFW. Dr. Vyn Richter navigates his emotions with the help of his trusty dictaphone. Or, Vyn gets his own bad end. Crossposted from AO3 here
[0:00 - 0:37]
Dr. Vyn Richter
Patient is neatly groomed. Mood and affect is moderately dysthymic. Speech is normal in rate, rhythm, and volume as sampled in this recording. He is moderately distracted, with thoughts that are slightly tangential. Insight and judgment is impaired, with a tendency for emotionally-driven decisions. He has persistent, intrusive thoughts of his limerent object for the past fourteen hours and twenty five minutes since waking up at nine this morning.
[0:37 - 0:50]
Dr. Vyn Richter
Thoughts of jealousy, stemming from mild obsessive behavior towards limerent object have been observed, leading to difficulty with focus and concentration causing two instances of critical lapse in decision making.
“You’re doing it again.” Marius snapped his fingers in front of Vyn’s face, only to have his hand slapped away.
“Stop that,” Vyn muttered, reaching for his cup of tea. “What was I doing again, pray tell?” He took a sip, then made a face once he found out it had long gone cold. Irritated, he slammed the cup back into its saucer, spilling amber liquid all over his documents piled on the glass conference table. “Fuck.”
“Zoning out. Focus, will you?” Marius groused as he closed the document folder in his hands. It was obvious to him that Vyn couldn’t crunch data off the top of his head in his current state of mind. “I don’t like staying here past seven either, but we’ve got a job to do.” He tossed the folder onto the table and reached out for his tablet. “How about you take a quick look at this instead—”
The door to the files room opened, but Marius did not take notice; he was busy flipping through the documents on his tablet to look for the one he needed feedback on. “Vyn—ah, damnit.”
Vyn wasn’t zoning out yet again, but Marius thought what he did was way worse: the doctor’s hawkish gaze was trained at the recently opened door, or more specifically, the couple who had emerged from the files room: Luke and Rosa.
Marius, with his gift for observation that was mostly used in his art endeavors, easily picked out how the doctor’s fingernails dug into his thighs. He was sure that Vyn would bleed it if it weren’t for the sturdy fabric of his khakis. “Vyn?” No response; the doctor was already burning holes onto the backs of his colleagues, both too preoccupied with their light-hearted bantering over their smartphones to notice Vyn’s all-too bitter glaring.
[0:50 - 0:59]
Dr. Vyn Richter
I am looking in the mirror, my rose. Beholding the just deserts of our stubbornness. It is a tragedy that we have to hide the truth about ourselves, what we feel for each other, this beautiful thing that we have nurtured together.
Oh boy. Marius gave up and grabbed his bag to stuff his things, resigned that he would have to wait till their next meeting to get something pertinent out of his usually fastidious tutor. Whatever.
Luke was mumbling something as he hunched over Rosa’s shoulder, pointing at whatever was displayed on her screen. They seemed a little too intimate for work colleagues; Luke pulled Rosa closer to him, his arm wrapped around her as he fiddled with her phone’s display.
[1:05 - 1:13]
Dr. Vyn Richter
Try as we might to separate our personal lives from the professional, the world is trying to take advantage of the consideration that we allow them at the expense of our own needs and desires, Rosa, do you not see it?
Marius wasn’t surprised to see Vyn finally flipping his lid when Luke whispered something to her ear, his lips dangerously close to her face as if he was kissing her cheek.
“Luke, Rosa,” the doctor began, his voice controlled yet loud enough to easily fill the entirety of the sizable conference room. “If you could please keep your voices down. Marius and I are trying to do work here.”
No we aren’t, because someone here is stewing in his jelly juices, Marius thought to himself. He would have said it out loud, but he did not feel like getting in the crosshairs of his tutor’s ire at the moment.
“I have no qualms about any of us pursuing personal relationships, but if you could please exercise enough restraint to keep your flirting outside of working hours?” Vyn, despite his flat, emotionless tone, wasn’t giving any quarter. “I did not sign up for this circus.”
Marius threw the doctor a look that said Are you fucking serious? and nervously shifted his sights towards Luke and Rosa. As he expected, Luke was positively incensed, and Rosa was nothing but downright mortified.
“If you’ve got more to say about me and her catching up, why don’t we take this outside?” Luke nudged Rosa to stand behind him, but she didn’t budge; she remained rooted on the spot, her face red with embarrassment.
“That is not necessary,” Vyn said, his voice clipped. “I am done here. You two can carry on with your business. I care not.”
Marius merely watched as Vyn stiffly gathered his things to leave the conference room; held his breath in anticipation when the doctor had to pass Luke to get to the door—only to be grossly disappointed when they merely stared each other down.
“I bid you a good evening, Rosa,” Vyn said quietly, his eyes never leaving Luke as he addressed her. “Enjoy your time together.”
[1:14 - 1:21]
Dr. Vyn Richter
Do you not see how much it tears me apart?
Later that night.
He drove his head deeper into his pillows, relishing the warmth and wetness of her mouth wrapped around his cock. He let out a moan as she did her best to deepthroat him; he had told her that she didn’t need to, yet Rosa was adamant to try pleasuring him.
Perhaps as a way to make up for what happened back in the headquarters.
The earnestness of her efforts alone was enough to send him almost weeping in his own bed, a mere few minutes until midnight, way past his routine bedtime. But he did not care; sticking to a healthy routine was important if he were to maintain his mental acuity, yet at that moment nothing mattered to the doctor than feeling his lover’s hot, wet tongue swirling around his tip, and how her small lips were stretched to accommodate his girth as much as she could. His head spun in pleasure; the thick thread of precum leaking into her sucking mouth betrayed just how much he had waited for relief.
The muscles of his inner thighs tightened; he was getting near. His fingers twitched and sought her auburn tresses, unsure where they needed to be in his sudden bout of kindness, only for his care and restraint to be undone as she started sucking in earnest; her hand wrapped around the rest of his shaft and jerking off what her mouth couldn’t fit. Shuddering breaths quickly turned to needy gasps as he grabbed fistfuls of her hair, and begged for her to let him come—
But she only stopped and drew back, his still rock-hard cock slipping out of her lips.
Vyn almost wept in abject frustration. “Rosa, I—” His strangled voice told a little too much of just how much of his control was lost, only for him to be thwarted at the last minute. “...Why?”
“You didn’t have to antagonize him,” Rosa muttered, wiping the mixture of spit and precum off her lips with the back of her hand. “He was just showing me the videos he took from his last assignment.” Her olive eyes were clouded with such a mixture of emotions that Vyn couldn’t discern, not when he was too vexed after being deprived of release all too suddenly.
Was it anger? Resentment? Regret?
In the end he decided that none of those mattered, and he roughly pulled Rosa closer to him for a lingering kiss that told of his simmering desire for her, long ignored and neglected during the daytime. “I do not like how he holds you as if you were his possession,” he murmured against her lips, his arms snaking possessively around her sweat-slickened body. “Only I have the right to do so, Rosa. My love.”
[1:25 - 1:37]
Dr. Vyn Richter
Only I should see your smile. Only I should hear you speak, in that sweet voice only your lover should hear. Only I should feel you. Around me. In me. Your intoxicating scent as we make love, only I should know of it.
“I keep on telling you, we were only—ah—” Her protests died in her throat as Vyn pushed her down onto the mattress. “This wouldn't even be a problem if we'd only admit to our rela—”
“Sssh.” Once again Vyn interrupted her from voicing out her grievance, this time with his slender finger across her grumbling lips. “We have already talked about this, pet.” He spared her from his usual vague platitudes about keeping things professional. Now wasn’t the time. The indignation he had to go through a few moments ago was still swimming in his bloodstream, but the need to sate his hunger was paramount.
He spread her thighs open, and a dark chuckle rose from his throat. Despite her misgivings aimed at him the lurid sight of her wet and swollen flesh between her thighs betrayed just how much she was indeed his.
She throbbed for him, and not for whoever she was with during the daytime, certainly not her childhood friend, try as hard as Luke might to worm his way into her heart by taking advantage of their shared memories.
Memories that will be easily edged out by the lifetime of midnights shared only between the doctor and his precious rose.
He could feel his dick harden even more at the thought.
His blood sang in triumph.
“I will now take what is rightfully mine,” he whispered, licking his lips as he pushed her thighs further apart.
[1:40 - 1:59]
Dr. Vyn Richter
I knew my obsession with you was far too dangerous to allow unimpeded, but still I happily indulged in it, devoting my time and energy to your altar. You made me realize how much of a hypocrite I am, that I am no better than any man, just another someone who would squander everything in pursuit of that one woman.
His bedroom was filled with nothing but shared sighs and ragged moans as he sank deep into her, inch by delicious inch, into her hole. He threw his head back, closing his eyes as he relished the heat inside her cunt grasp his cock perfectly as if it was made for him. Yes. For him only, she was his alone, of that there was never any doubt. They fit perfectly, both of them pieces of a puzzle they did not know they needed to solve until their first touch. Vyn knew there was no one else made for him. He was going to make her his, in every sense of the word, but that was for later.
Sing for me, Rosa,” he murmured, hands sliding down to her thighs and wrapping her legs around his waist. “I want to hear your voice. Tell me you are mine,” he demanded, his voice a touch too needy for his liking. It was difficult to grasp what little composure he had left with how good her hot cunt felt around him.
With a snap of his hips he bottomed out inside her; her moans of pleasure music to his ears as he started moving.
“Vyn, Vyn, I—nngh—” There was no hope for Rosa to come up with coherent words, not with how she helplessly clung to his shoulders, her legs greedily pulling his hips back to hers in time with his hard, deep thrusts. “Yours, I’m…ahh—” Tears pricked the edges of her eyes, to his utter, unhinged delight; a sinister laugh rose from his lips the moment he felt her fingernails drag across the skin of his back, no doubt drawing blood. That is fine, he thought as he hissed in the pain and licked his lips, his darkened gaze locking onto her unfocused olive stare that told of just how far gone she was in her head, focusing on the climax steadily building as he pounded into her, over and over.
“I need to…come. Please,” she managed to whisper, her weakened voice almost inaudible as he kept on rutting into her mercilessly. “Please, Vyn,” she whimpered, one of her hands letting go of his shoulder to reach down between her bodies.
He was going to let herself reach her precipice first, but the feel of her hand desperately rubbing her clit—her knuckle grazing his cock as he kept on fucking her the way God intended him to do her—pushed him past the point of no return. With a loud, guttural moan he burst his hot seed inside her.
She is like a drug, he decided as he slumped over her body, fully spent; and as she came, her cunt milking him for all he was worth with each orgasmic spasm, he knew that his spiraling obsession for her would lead him to nowhere but the abyss, and there was no hope for him to turn back and save himself.
[2:05 - 2:12]
Dr. Vyn Richter
It is unfortunate that you know this side of me, my love. And I cannot afford to let others know of how much of my control I lose over you.
At exactly one in the morning she was already fully dressed, her smartphone in her hand as she booked for a taxi to come pick her up from Vyn’s place.
“Rosa, being out alone at this hour is unwise,” Vyn said, still naked on his bed. “At the very least please give me a few minutes to dress myself and I will drive you home.”
He wanted to tell her that he’d rather she stay the night, for her to sleep beside him, but many things have already been said between them; it was much too late for him to renege on what they have already agreed upon, in the interests of compartmentalizing their romantic entanglement away from their professional lives and, in Vyn’s case, duty of his birthright.
And so all he could do was slip on his robe and see her out his door.
[2:23 - 2:52]
Dr. Vyn Richter
I will now come out and say it: You own me, my beloved. Me, and everything it entails. You own my thoughts, and my feelings. I cannot help it, your ownership of me is etched into my very being. You must bear responsibility for this, my rose. I place my fate into your hands.
“I will miss you, Rosa of my heart,” Vyn solemnly said, reaching out to her with the intent of holding her hand.
His fingers could only brush the back of her hand as she drew back and away from his grasp.
“I know,” was all she said before she stepped out through the door.
[2:52 - 3:01]
Dr. Vyn Richter
But the world is not yet ready to know this. Not yet.
They passed by each other the following morning, when he took it upon himself to personally deliver subpoenaed documents for a high profile case Themis Law was currently working on.
Vyn, on his way to Artem’s office, went past the pantry where he saw Rosa poring over documents spread out over the table with a mug of coffee in her hand.
He was about to approach her and say hello but Artem beat him to it, pulling a chair beside her. Vyn could only look on as the senior attorney huddled closer to his junior, going over the specifics of whatever the documents contained, sharing a laughter or two during their impromptu meeting in the pantry.
He could only watch as Celestine approached the two, loudly calling Rosa ‘Ms. Wing’ in jest, and tasked both attorneys to attend a business function together in her stead. An out of town business trip. Easily two or three days, out in the country together.
I have intruded on her business enough. The doctor pivoted on his heel and strode over to Kiki’s cubicle instead. “Hello, Miss Kiki,” he said in his bright voice usually reserved for the most reticent of patients. “Wing seems to be preoccupied at the moment.” He handed her the folder, along with his favorite green striped pen for her to sign the receipt slip with. “Would you be a dear and receive these documents for me?”
The bespectacled intern was quite surprised to see him, and her cheeks bloomed easily in his presence, ducking her head as she clumsily signed her name at the bottom of the receipt. It did not take her a minute before she handed him back his pen and the signed receipt.
Vyn let their fingers brush against each other as he accepted the items. “Thank you.”
“Y-you’re welcome, Dr. Richter,” Kiki chirped, then surreptitiously hid her furious blush behind the documents folder.
He briefly wondered how easily it would be to bed the pretty, yet painfully shy intern, to fill the gaps of his immensely lonely nights, but shoved it out of his mind just as quickly.
Nobody deserves to be hurt by petty jealousies, and people who manipulate others with the promise of love are nothing but despicable. He knew this very well.
His heart hurt.
Left with no reason for him to linger, his business finally done, Vyn decided to retreat into the comfort and semblance of control that his research center afforded him.
Yet before he could step into the elevator to leave the premises, Rosa emerged from the pantry and brushed past him, Artem in tow.
Their eyes briefly met, only for her to look away and place her hand on her boss’s arm, to Artem’s obvious surprise.
Vyn merely pursed his lips.
“Wing, I left the documents with Kiki,” was all the doctor said, after giving them a curt nod. “Have a good day. I shall take my leave now.”
[0:00 - 2:19]
Dr. Vyn Richter
The patient is appropriately dressed but disheveled. He would describe his mood as ‘within limits’. His thought process lacks flow. It has been sixteen hours and seventeen minutes since waking up at nine this morning, and thoughts of jealousy have consumed his sensorium. I am nothing without you, my rose, and I…

tears of themis boys find out you’re ticklish!
(implied fem!reader)
Tumblr media
artem wing . . .
you were currently immersed in work. you had just taken on a new case, and as a themis attorney, you had a reputation to uphold. however, it was already past 11pm. you were working way past your time, as most of the employees at themis law firm had already left hours ago. regardless, you were truly stumped on this one. finding evidence for your defendant was going to be near impossible at this rate!
“y/n?”
you jumped, startled out of your slight trance. you hadn’t even heard the knock at your office door, or the slow creak as it opened. you turned around in your chair to see none other than artem wing.
“mr. wing! i… w-what are you doing here?” you stammered, organizing your thoughts and nervously stacking your papers. well, this was embarrassing! he had probably called your name multiple times already! way to go, y/n, ignoring your boss like that! you internally kicked yourself.
“i could ask you the same. everyone else left hours ago,” artem replied, walking over to your desk. he glanced at your papers and sighed. “you’re overworking yourself.”
“oh- i’m fine, really! i just really don’t want to mess this one up. i’m not used to doing criminal cases,” you explained sheepishly, fidgeting with your thumbs. double embarrassing!
artem smiled a little. “don’t be so nervous, y/n. we’ve been colleagues for how long now?”
you were about to formulate an apologetic response before you felt a hand on your shoulder. out of all the things you could’ve done, you squeaked.
“erm- did i hurt you? i was simply trying to be comforting,” the lawyer asked, raising an eyebrow.
“no! nothing like that! i’m just… um… pretty sensitive. sorry!” you babbled, cheeks glowing as bright as a tomato at this point. you very much wanted to fall into a hole and never come out.
“…what did i say about the nervousness?” artem mused, smirking a little as a finger discreetly found its way under your arm. “hm?”
you didn’t particularly like the look in his eyes.
vyn richter . . .
“y/n, i can guarantee you this is a game i’ll win,” vyn said, looking at your face with a slightly amused smirk.
“so cocky! we haven’t even started yet!” you whined, rolling your eyes. you and vyn were hanging out at your place, and after chatting about psychology things for a bit, you grew quite bored. an idea had suddenly popped into your head that had you practically bubbling with excitement. how fun would it be to see the calm, composed dr. vyn richter engage with you in a tickle fight? this idea was pure gold!
“no, but a childish game like that is partly a mind game, and i think we both know who always wins those,” vyn answered smoothly, closing his eyes in satisfaction. you pouted.
“oh yeah? then take this!”
suddenly, you were on him, legs wrapped around him as you sat in his lap and dug your fingers into his ribcage. he spluttered, not expecting the game to start so soon and for you to be in such a… position on him.
“y/n, w-wahahait! you never said we were starting, brahahat!” he laughed, trying to pry hands off of him. you smirked.
“all’s fair in love and war~,” you mused, moving your fingers down to his sides. you relished in his unrestrained giggles; you never got to see this side of him!
“a-ahahalright- that’s it for you-!” the psychiatrist announced, and in an instant he had grabbed your wrists, holding them above your head as he caught his breath.
you blinked, not having thought this far ahead. shit, he never knew you were tick-
“you know i am going to make you regret that, correct?” vyn inquired, his composure regained just as quickly as it left as he stared you right in the eyes. you gulped, starting to squirm desperately in his lap as he formed his other hand into a claw.
“i-i’m not ticklish! it won’t work!” you exclaimed, squealing already as he slowly, carefully brought his hand closer to your tummy.
“you think i don’t know when you’re lying to me~?”
marius von hagen . . .
you loved cuddling with marius. he was so warm, so gentle, so perfect. especially after a long day at work, you adored nothing more than allowing him to wrap his arms around you, engulfing you in his comfort.
“i love you…” you mumbled, too sleepy to filter your thoughts right now.
“you… what?”
you hummed, before realization hit you and you snapped awake. why the hell did you just say that?!
“i-i didn’t…! oh my gosh, i am so sorry!” you stuttered, quickly moving to get yourself out of his embrace. however, marius’s grip only tightened around your waist as you tried to run away.
“no, no, what did you say? go on, i don’t think i heard you right the first time,” marius spoke, and you could just tell by the tone of his voice he had that annoying, shit-eating grin on his face. the nerve!
“nothing! it’s nothing! h-hehehey, watch your hahahahands!” you giggled.
without realizing it, his fingers had started to squeeze your waist gently. nevertheless, upon realizing this, his grin only widened, his violet eyes searing into yours.
“oho! don’t tell me… my pretty little attorney is ticklish?” marius sang, his fingers deliberately moving now as you squawked and wriggled in his grasp.
somehow, you knew this was going to be a long night.
luke pearce . . .
“luke! come on, get up and help me cook dinner!” you exclaimed, starting to dice some peppers on the cutting board. it was saturday night, which meant you finally had some time to hang out with luke.
“yes ma’am~!” luke responded, getting up from his spot on the couch and walking over to the kitchen. his tall figure soon loomed over you.
“there’s no way i’m making dinner in your own apartment,” you joked, sticking your tongue out at him as you poured the diced vegetables into a bowl and started to wash your hands. you really didn’t mind; you were just grateful to spend time with him. it was surreal to see your childhood best friend again after all these years.
“cmon now, i just said i’d help! you should’ve told me you were going to start cooking,” he pouted, jabbing your side playfully. you almost fell over.
“…”
“…”
“y/n, there’s no way! still? after so long?!” luke chirped excitedly, reaching for you with grabby hands as you quickly dried yours off and started backing away.
“d-don’t! i’m not ticklish anymore, i swehehear!” you snickered, squeaking as your back suddenly bumped into a wall. damn it, his kitchen is so tiny!
“y’know, for an attorney, you sure don’t make a good case for yourself~,” luke teased, grinning as he brought his fingers to your hips and started scribbling.
“NAHAHA! but whahahat about dihihihihinner?!”
“i think dinner can wait a while~”

What made you start playing ToT? And what is your first impression of Vyn?
I saw pictures of him in my timeline on twitter and it picked my interest, like... "holy moly?? who's that pretty guy 😳" and then I installed the game and now i'm stuck with Dr. Richter.
I remember being very intrigued about him, he was so mysterious and it just made me feel drawn to him! I find him so interesting to analyze because he's complex and not a character that you'll take what he says too literally. And his side stories says it all, his character development is so BEAUTIFUL 😩✨

meetings and beginnings
"A story of Vyn's first day in Stellis."
relationships: vyn & giann & ailine, giann/ailine tws: none! wc: 2021 extra: this was supposed to be a multichapter fic with ailiannovyn buttt i got lazy + vyn 5th bday is supposed to be about his name change so im posting this anyway
read on ao3!
Vyn jolted awake. He felt the plane shake, and a voice sounded over the speakers, the words only half-reaching his brain as he struggled to situate himself.
He looked out the window. Right. Stellis City. He must have arrived.
He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes, internally wincing as he saw his transparent reflection in the glass, his appearance anything but presentable. A sigh left him and he tried his best to fix whatever he could.
Once that was done and his glasses were once more on his face, Vyn took a look at his belongings and made sure he had everything. The plane had landed by now, and everyone was already starting to stand up and gather their bags, but Vyn stayed seated for now. He pulled out his phone, turning it on and switching the airplane mode off. Notifications soon started appearing on his screen, the last one showing a message sent only a few minutes ago.
“ You should be landing soon, correct? ”
Right as he clicked on the message and opened it, the other person started typing again.
“ I knew it. ”
“ Take your time, we’re almost there. ”
Vyn sent a simple response, acknowledging the words before putting his phone in his pocket again. The door was finally open, and people were starting to get off. Vyn didn’t have to wait too long to leave the plane – not many people traveled from Svart to Stellis, if he was being honest –, and soon enough he was walking through the foreign airport, going through the final checks before being free.
The fatigue was starting to weigh on him, despite having dozed off for almost half of the flight, and he was looking forward to just settling down already. It was early afternoon in Stellis by now, and the more he thought about it, the more he realized that he wouldn’t be against a meal at the moment.
Just as he thought of pulling out his phone to check if he had gotten any new messages, a voice called out to him – though it did take him a second to realize he was being talked to. He’d need to get used to being called by his new name.
“Dr. Richter!”
He turned his head to see two figures approaching him: Giann Von Hagen, he recognized from their previous exchanges, though the woman beside him was unfamiliar. He still greeted them with a polite smile and nod, walking to meet them halfway.
“Mr. Von Hagen. I was just about to message you.”
The said Mr. Von Hagen waved a dismissive hand at him.
“Please, no need to be so formal. Just call me Giann. Oh,” he gestured to the woman beside him, “this is my fiancée, Ailine. I hope you don’t mind her tagging along with us.”
Vyn shook his head and watched as Ailine bowed before doing the same.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Dr. Richter. I’m Ailine Weiss. Giann told me a lot about you.”
“The pleasure’s all mine, Miss Weiss.”
Giann insisted on carrying Vyn’s belongings for him, despite the man’s protests — and they soon arrived to the car that was meant to drive him to his new house. Once all of the baggage was settled inside the vehicle, the three of them sat in the back of the car as the driver started it up. Ailine spoke up first, most likely in an attempt to eradicate any chance of an awkward silence settling, Vyn noted.
“I hope your journey here wasn’t too rough? Svart is quite a ways away from Stellis.”
Vyn was sitting next to the left car door, leaning slightly against it. He straightened up and leant slightly forward in order to look at Ailine while responding — Giann sitting in between the two was hiding her almost entirely.
“Ah, it wasn’t too bad, thankfully. I will just need to adjust to the time difference, but that shouldn’t be a problem.”
Ailine gave him a smile accompanied by a polite giggle — despite their efforts, Vyn could see their reservations towards him. They were clearly keeping up their professional fronts — not that he could blame them, though. They were practically strangers still, and Vyn was doing the same anyway. He didn’t think about it much longer though, as Giann cleared his throat and spoke up in turn.
“We’ve been taking care of your house, so it should be all ready for you to settle in. All necessary appliances are present, and the water and electricity should be on already, but if you have any problems just give me a call and I’ll have someone fix it.”
Ailine added right afterwards, leaning forward the same way Vyn had earlier.
“That reminds me, I’ve looked into some stores that sell furniture and decorations of great quality. I’ll have Giann send you their addresses later, if you’d like.”
Vyn hummed, a small smile dancing at his lips.
“That would be lovely. Thank you for all the help you’ve given me, I appreciate it.”
The two reacted in tandem, chuckling in response and shooting each other a glance upon noticing that.
“It’s only natural. We hope to welcome you into Stellis as well as possible.”
Ailine expressed her agreement, and the small talk came to a stop. Vyn fell into thought, slumping ever so slightly against the car door again. He had looked into the neighborhood his new house would be in — Hemingway Heights, Giann had told him. The neighborhood was nice, from what he had seen. Well taken care of, and the area surrounding his street had quite a few stores, so he would have places to go at least. On top of that, it was the district made to promote higher education, which meant many universities and research institutions would be close to his living place. Giann had also sent him pictures of the house he had found him — it was more than enough, he thought. A definite downgrade from the Duke’s palace in Svart, but Vyn didn’t need such unnecessary space anyway.
He was just glad to have a garden, and enough room to properly arrange everything he wanted.
Images of Stellis’ streets flashed through the window as they drove, the quiet chatter between the two fiancés next to him serving as background noise to his thoughts. Soon enough though, they were stopping, and the door he was sitting next to was opened. He stepped out to finally take in his new house in person for the first time, taking note of every detail he could see. It was exactly as Giann had described it — he silently appreciated the man’s attention to detail and all the care put in meeting Vyn’s criteria.
“You seem to like it, correct?”
The voice of the very man he was thinking about sounded next to Vyn, and he turned his head to meet a smiling face — quite smug-looking, if Vyn were to look closer — as Giann inquired. A chuckle left him and he pushed his glasses back up on his nose, looking back at the front before answering.
“Yes. It’s exactly as you described. I must thank you again for all your efforts.”
“Please, it’s my pleasure. I’m glad to have met your expectations.”
The driver had already placed all of Vyn’s baggage on the front porch, and soon enough he was being welcomed inside, Giann and Ailine both following behind him. The house smelled nice, and looked clean — Giann wasn’t lying when he mentioned he had been taking care of it until now. He had asked Vyn thoroughly about his opinion on the arrangement, and while Vyn could see a few things he would move eventually, it was overall perfect.
Once they had toured the house and garden, the group found itself once again in front of it and talked. Ailine checked the time and looked up at Vyn right as they were about to share their goodbyes.
“Dr. Richter, I don’t suppose you’ve eaten since your flight, have you?”
After a hum of thought, Vyn replied.
“I have not, no.”
Before he had the time to add anything, Giann cut in.
“Well it’s already dinner time, so why not join us for it? My treat.”
Ailine gave a protest at the last part, to which Giann responded with a bashful laugh, and Vyn gave a smile. Who was he to refuse an invitation, after all? Besides, he had to admit he was really hungry, and wasn’t sure he wanted to make dinner himself.
“Of course, I would love to.”
The smiles the couple sent him lifted his spirits, and they were soon on their way once more after they had decided on a restaurant to take him to, for his first meal in Stellis.
Giann and Ailine had chosen a restaurant owned by the Weiss family, Vyn had been told on the way there, to guarantee him a great first experience, Giann said. The restaurant was clearly luxurious: and they were led to a private table, secluded from the other guests in the restaurant. Since Giann had already offered to pay — not without another complaint from Ailine —, he ushered Vyn to order whatever he wished for and not hold back. Silence fell among the three of them as they looked over the menu, and Vyn carefully weighed the different options in his mind. Finally they placed their orders, and engaged in more idle chatter — though Vyn found himself curious about his hosts.
“So, Miss Weiss, your family owns this restaurant?”
Ailine glanced towards him and nodded.
“We do, yes. The Weiss family is known for its hotels and restaurants. It’s why we are Pax’s partners, actually.”
Vyn gave a hum of acknowledgement, chuckling to himself before looking towards Giann instead.
“Seems like Pax invests in just about anything, doesn’t it?”
Giann laughed in return, the corners of his eyes crinkling with a wider smile than he had given Vyn before.
“Well, it is a good idea to invest in several areas. It allows Pax to help development and to build relationships. I mean,” he gestured towards Ailine and their rings, “Ailine and I would have never known each other, nor gotten engaged, if our families weren’t business partners.”
“That’s true.” agreed the mentioned fiancée.
Their dishes arrived not long after, Vyn enjoying his light — and free — dinner with the company of his two new acquaintances.
It was already late into the evening when the group finished their dinner. Fatigue was catching up with Vyn — and he wanted nothing more than to lay down into his bed and get a good night’s rest. Giann and Ailine offered to drive him back, and at the risk of relying on them too much for a day, he accepted. He didn't have much of a choice anyway, really, what with still being unfamiliar with the city and having relatively no way to get to his house on his own — and there was no way he would risk trying out public transport this late into his first day in Stellis.
Finally, he was back in front of his house, saying his goodbyes to the couple for the day. Giann looked at him through the window of the car, giving a final list to welcome Vyn properly.
“You can get in touch with Stellis University from 8am to 7pm, weekends might be trickier though. As for myself and Ailine, well, just text me anytime and I’ll get to you as soon as possible!”
Vyn thanked him once more, nodding as Giann went on about everything he might need to know — despite Vyn already being aware of most of those anyway. It was a kind gesture, so he didn’t say anything. Finally, Giann was done, and he grinned.
“At the risk of repeating myself: welcome to Stellis, Dr. Richter. It was a pleasure finally meeting you in person.”
And Vyn smiled in response.
“It was a pleasure as well, Mr. Von Hagen, Miss Weiss. I will see you next time.”
