A world where only little brother is hurt and is loved by nobody.

Xun Feng, where do we begin. Boy witnessed his Gege kill their father at a young age, neither of them explained to him why that happened, he was kept out of loop for thousands of years until Xiao Lan Hua told him. He was suffering from the loss of his father on his own while also trying to get close to and understand his emotionless brother. When Dong Fang Qing Cang was trapped in Haotian Tower, he carried the whole of Cangyan Sea all on his own, he fully knew he does not have the power and ended up teaming up with the wrong people to keep the throne.

When Dong Fang returns with a complete stranger, he doesn’t understand why big brother trust her so much because nobody taught him how to love someone either. Xun Feng is just an angsty broken teenager. Of course he’s worried, he doesn’t know who Xiao Lan Hua is, he gotta be careful regarding potential spies! (not to @ [name redacted] here)

In this scene he realised he may have done the wrong thing and may never get the affection he longs from big brother ever again. After all, who else will love him?

What I want to know is what do all the Moon Tribe ppl think about Chang Heng’s ability to show up in the Cangyan Sea and the Moon Palace so casually?

Shows up that first time not in the Palace but in the forest area near there when we had Dong Fang Qing Cang and Xiao Lan Hua body swap thing going on

Shows up the second time, this time IN the Palace itself with sheet music of the Healing Song that he and Dong Fang Qing Cang spent some time learning and practicing. Like there have to have been ppl around for that  wondering what’s up right?

Shows up again after learning that Xiao Lan Hua is the missing Goddess and manages to take the soon-to-be Moon Queen away with no fuss (and then return her)

Shows up after their two clans just fought with the Moon Supreme Leader currently indisposed in a coma, goes into DFQC’s dream to help and try to pull him out, then also uses his own primordial spirit to help sustain Dong Fang Qing Cang until he comes out of his self-induced coma (something that when Shang Que, Xun Feng, and the other two Moon Tribes royalties did was made by the scene to be a Big Deal). What do DFQC’s brother and the other Moon Tribe ppl think about this whole scene!?!

Nah man, this episode was too cute. We got the brothers reconciling, Shangque being a proud subordinate, Orchid legit just being in love making moon cakes and Dong Fang Qing Cang also being in love thanking her in the sweetest way. I just can’t with all of this cuteness. It’s too much 😩😩😩

As the Immortal God of War Chang Heng, he was bounded by duty and his tyrannical brother, forcing him to hide his true feelings. He had to love and pine for Xiao Lan Hua secretly, stoically, and quietly until it was too late. And he calls himself a coward for it.

He jumped off the Falls for love, for a chance to be with her, and as the mortal Xiao Run, he doesn’t let duty and oppressive family members keep him from expressing himself. Xiao Run is so carefree in all the way that Chang Heng couldn’t be. And this time, when he loves, he loves so fully and freely, not shackled by the need to hide it from the world. Xiao Run is so all in and proudly announcing it to the world. And yet, cruel, cruel fate will still say that it’s not enough and he can’t be with his love.

Xiao Run is still so honorable and tragic though because when he thought Xiao Lan Hua was lost to him as his sworn brother Dong Fang Qing Cang’s wife, he didn’t yell at the world or blame anyone. Xiao Run took it gracefully and was leaving to join up as a soldier for the borders, to bury his broken heart. And yet despite the hope that’s now given to Xiao Run by Jieli and Co. to keep him in the City, it will only be a short reprieve.

In any other story, Chang Heng/Xiao Run’s character type would end his hardship happy with the one he fought so hard to be with, but here, it will only end with heartbreak for him. And I just want to take him, bundle him up in blankets, pull him close to my heart, and protect him from the rest of this pain and tragedy.

What I want to know is while Rong Hao was off recuperating in the evil cave after his last fight with Dong Fang Qing Cang, does he know that Chang Heng was locked up in the Tower by his brother and then snuck out to jump off the Fall to become mortal? I know Rong Hao said he was only saving Chang Heng because he still needed to use him, but some of their friendship from the past 30,000 years had to have been real right?

At this point, it’s not that I ship Chang Heng/Xiao Run & Xiao Lan Hua more than Xiao Lan Hua & Dong Fang Qing Cang whenever I gush about Chang Heng/Xiao Run. It’s that I want Chang Heng/Xiao Run + Happiness most, preferably without heartaches, but I know that’s not going to happen, at least the without heartaches part. Because by the end of this, Chang Heng is going to be without his brother who caused most of his suffering (good riddance), the missing fiancée that his brother shackled him to for the last 30,000 years while forbidding and threatening him from falling in love with anyone else, the girl he loves and secretly pines for for the past 500 years (who is also his missing fiancée), and his best and closest friend who potentially might have been faking everything for the past 30,000 years. And Chang Heng has done nothing to deserve this amount of suffering.
