okay but like thinking about shatterstar having to literally learn the concept bodily autonomy and consent in relation to himself. like mojoworld the only way to protect yourself was through violence. star sees himself as a weapon, not a person. and then he gets to earth and everyone is like. you can't just attack people if you don't like something. so he goes. okay i can't attack people. but then ric's taking him out to clubs and it's well-meaning, sure, but after the stecky incident he notices that star will just. stand there. and he notices that star doesn't seem to ever say no. or even understand that he's allowed to. in mojo you do what you're told, right? you do what is expected of you. he is attractive and he's expected to like the attention. imagine after awhile ric just has this horrific realization that he has to sit star down and tell him like. you are allowed to say no to things. if you don't want someone to touch you you can tell them no. because star doesn't see himself as anything other than a weapon, and weapons can't consent.
