Not necessarily a new take but I dislike it when certain fans take a pair of characters and point at the quiet/clever one and go "they're the autistic one" and then point at the sociable/energetic one and go "they're the adhd one" without actually thinking about it further

#beyond the obvious dumbing down of real disorders it's also just boring in my opinion #like I love imagining my faves as autistic bc I'm autistic. But sometimes it's evident that other people only do it bc #they want a autism/adhd ship or something. and not because they're actually interested in examining the character #dont get me wrong. you don't *need* a reason to hc your faves as nd #but some ppl invent a weird binary of “autism/adhd” and force it on every ship based on what are often straight up stereotypes #don't know who needs to hear this but autism is not a synonym for introvert and adhd is not a synonym for extrovert
