Pictured is the original images of the ichimatsu doll used for the infamous creepypasta and screamer image known as dollthing.jpg, used as the associated image for the Gurgles and Bugman creepypasta, and then later as the profile image for the facebook page of "Ahenobarbus Henocied", a page that allegedly sent minors unknown coordinates and gore images. The image was first posted to 2chan in 2004, and from there users had quite some fun with it and eventually edited the image to the creepy one we know today with the toothy grin and bulging red eyes.

The image on the right was actually found from a Japanese yahoo auction.

Below the read more will be the image as we know it now, to jog your memory in case you somehow forgot or haven't seen it. It is quite startling, hence why I'm hiding it.

would the shock image dollthing.jpg count for this? im not sure since its got like.atleast 5 different known uses rather than one big story attached to it

Sure, I'll add dollthing.jpg. A lot of them don't have much of a story behind them (like I'm pretty sure there's nothing more to the maze jumpscare than it being a maze jumpscare) so that's no concern!

Hey, are tumblr brackets still a thing? Well, I'm doing another.

The point of this blog will be to have multiple polls for voting on your favorite internet horror that's at least a decade old. Submissions for other contestants are now open, and the list will be updated as time goes on.

Rules

Nothing with real gore is allowed (ogrish, rotten . com, funky town, etc.)

Try to avoid big-name mascott creepy pastas (Slenderman, Jeff The Killer, etc.)

Most, if not all entries, will include subject matter of varying levels of sensitivity so viewer discretion is advised.

No porn based shock videos (lemon party, 2 girls 1 cup, BME pain Olympics, etc.)

First come, first serve

Under the cut will be already suggested/accepted into the bracket submissions. Google at your own risk.

Update: Thank you guys for all the nominations! I'm going to keep the submissions open until Saturday, May 4th 2024, or until we hit 40 nominees. I'm not familiar with all of the submissions but I've been googling them as I go and will try and update myself on the ones that are new to me.
