WhatsApp finally launches payments, starting in Brazil
After months of talks and trials, WhatsApp has finally pulled the trigger on payments in its app. Today the Facebook-owned messaging service announced that users in Brazil would be the first to be able to send and receive money by way of its messaging app, using Facebook Pay, the payments service WhatsApp owner Facebook launched last year.
WhatsApp says in its blog post that the payments service — which currently is free for consumers to use (that is, no commission fee taken) but businesses pay a 3.99% processing fee to receive payments — will work by way of a six-digit PIN or fingerprint to complete transactions.
You use it by linking up your WhatsApp account to your Visa or Mastercard credit or debit card, with initial local partners including Banco do Brasil, Nubank, and Sicredi. Cielo, a payments processor, is also working with WhatsApp to complete transactions. “We have built an open model to welcome more partners in the future,” it noted.
The news comes as bit of a surprise. WhatsApp had been testing its payments service among users in India for months (that trial uses another system, not Facebook Pay but UPI), so many assumed that the world’s second largest internet market would be the debut region for the service.
But Facebook remains stuck in a regulatory maze in India that has prevented it from expanding the payments service beyond a small, limited launch, in what is otherwise the app’s biggest market in terms of users. India has 400 million monthly active users, while second-largest market Brazil has 120 million MAUs.
(And indeed, it would have an interesting position there because of that size: while there are a number of other digital payments services, including Google Pay and Paytm, there are no clear, large and popular competitors offering payments within a messaging app in the country.)
WhatsApp had been adopted informally for commercial purposes almost from the very start: small business owners have used it to exchange messages with users around the sale of goods, what is in stock and so on. But under the wing of Facebook — which acquired the company in 2014 for $19 billion — WhatsApp started in earnest the big task of bringing in a more formal set of business services.
That’s included the launch of WhatsApp Business, which lets SMBs post catalogues and stock links within the app; advertisers on Facebook also can create links through to their WhatsApp accounts.
But now with payments, WhatsApp, which has amassed over 2 billion users, is finally taking a more comprehensive commercial plunge, giving people not just a place to chat about a product, or even send payment details, but now to actually transact.
And that, in turn, gives WhatsApp and Facebook another shot at building a revenue stream based on its vast scale, one which does not turn the app over to monetising its users through ads and the data that is amassed around them — the primary business model today behind Facebook and Instagram, another major app in the Facebook stable.
“Payments on WhatsApp are beginning to roll out to people across Brazil beginning today and we look forward to bringing it to everyone as we go forward,” the company said.
Users in Brazil will be able to use the payments service on WhatsApp to make purchases from local businesses without leaving their chat, the Facebook-owned service said.
“The over 10 million small and micro businesses are the heartbeat of Brazil’s communities. It’s become second nature to send a zap to a business to get questions answered. Now in addition to viewing a store’s catalog, customers will be able to send payments for products as well,” the company wrote in a blog post.
Although WhatsApp has in theory been working on payments for years, from what we understand there were a lot of delays in part due to how and where Facebook wanted WhatsApp to implement it. Now that it’s launching with Facebook Pay, it seems that we know how that struggle landed.
As for subsequent regions for launching the service, it’s not clear whether Facebook will be open to working with other kinds of payment methods, or even other payment rails beyond Facebook Pay, or what kinds of use cases it will pursue for the service — although the trial in India, using UPI, implies that it won’t just be a one-size-fits-all approach.
These remain critical questions, considering that payment cards and even bank accounts are not necessarily the norm in every market, especially emerging markets; and that other kinds of transactions such as remittances — where people transfer money to friends, family and businesses that are often far away — are some of the more popular uses of phones beyond simple calls and texts. (And as we’ve been saying for years, the link between messaging and remittances is a big one: messaging apps are where people carry out their relationships and communication, so they are a natural place to stay to send money.) The examples of payments in Brazil indicate that remittances are very much on Facebook’s radar, so we’ll see how and where it actually gets used.
A WhatsApp spokesperson declined to say more when asked for more specific details about future plans beyond Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s “More to come soon!”, from his own announcement. But given the link with Facebook Pay, one obvious guess might be that we’ll see payments rolled out in WhatsApp in markets where the former service is now live, which include the US and UK.
“We’re continuing to roll out Facebook Pay on Facebook to more countries outside the U.S. for existing payment experiences, which vary by country and may include experiences such as in-game purchases and fundraisers where already available,” a Facebook spokesperson said. “As we’ve said previously, our goal is to bring Facebook Pay to more people and places over time.”

The tremendously famous application is for the most part known for its Caller ID administration yet it likewise has offers informing and installments in the nation. The upgraded rendition of its application that brings a Smart SMS highlight to order the entirety of your SMS messages and talks under four particular tabs. The refreshed Truecaller application has additionally carried a Home tab to offer your calls history, SMS messages, and texts — all under one rooftop. Clients get a full-screen guest ID interface that is accessible as a select in include, notwithstanding the current spring up guest ID usefulness. The new highlights have just begun turning out for Android clients in India, and the Stockholm-based organization has plans to carry the contributions to iOS and its worldwide clients in the coming days too. The significant change that clients will see initially is the patched up interface that has incorporated the Smart SMS include, which utilizes on-gadget AI to sort messages naturally into four gatherings. These are Personal, Important, Others, and Spam — Important being another expansion to the rundown, which will list all money related and installment messages. To show all messeges in open place, Truecaller has added important tabs                                             Truecaller says in an official statement that the new tab will assist clients with monitoring bills, installments, and spending plans. The new tab will likewise list installment messages from different administrations. There are likewise plans to incorporate travel updates, for example, flight delays, transport seat portion, live following, and updates on dispatch and postal conveyances, charge updates, and specialist and clinic arrangements. This sounds like the categorization of instant messages on well-known applications, for example, the SMS Organizer by Microsoft. The component on the Truecaller application works for SMS messages, yet additionally for visits utilizing Truecaller, which are contained inside the application alone, which will profit clients who are dynamic on the stage. Truecaller claims that all handling of its AI calculation happens disconnected, and "no message leaves the cell phone." How does the spam channel work? Truecaller as of now has a current framework to ensure against spam messages and, obviously, calls. The application has more than 20 crore month to month dynamic clients, and it gathers reports from these clients just as in-house calculations to stamp spam messages. As indicated by Truecaller, it has hindered more than 1,000 crore spam calls. Since spammers utilize different telephone numbers Truecaller says it takes a gander at the sender as well as peruses your messages (just disconnected, on your gadget, the representative noted) to choose its classification suitably. Prior, Truecaller didn't permit clients to hail messages that are wrongly set apart as spam. In any case, Dua said that clients would now be able to prepare the framework and tell the application if a message winds up mistakenly in the Spam tab. Manual detailing doesn't work with the messages accessible in the Important tab, however. "Before long, we will likewise let individuals physically mark messages as significant that is if there is something which is supposed, not a bill, however perhaps something from your children's school that came in that you might want to recollect or something that your better half sent or your child sent to you that you might want to recall later, you can physically check them as significant and they will likewise appear in your Important tab," he noted. The checking of messages as significant will fill in as how you start a message on WhatsApp or banner an email in your post box. In any case, you won't have the option to set any contact as Important so you'll get every one of their messages in the tab. Truecaller's greatest premium market India has more than 15 crore month to month dynamic Truecaller clients, and practically 50% of them have set Truecaller as their default dialler, a representative disclosed. During the briefing to journalists, Manan Shah, Director of Marketing at Truecaller's India, said that almost 60% of its premium subscribers are located in the region. That is approximately 7,20,000 endorsers of the absolute 12 lakh Premium supporters comprehensively. The Premium assistance offers an advertisement free encounter and highlights, for example, an Incognito Mode and the capacity to get told when somebody sees your Truecaller profile is accessible at Rs. 75 every month or Rs. 529 every year. New interface Truecaller has included a Home tab from where you'll discover every one of your calls and messages converged into a solitary rundown. This is not normal for the prior interface in which you had various tabs symbols for Messages, Contacts, Calls, UPI, and Premium. Be that as it may, you despite everything have the Contacts, Premium, and Payments tabs — nearby the new Home tab. Truecaller has a new Home tab for your messages and calls                                                                     Truecaller also has the guest ID in full screen which shows you who is calling on a full screen. This is accessible close by the current coasting spring up. The full-screen guest ID interface demonstrates hues to enable you to distinguish what sort of call you're getting. This implies there will be a blue screen in case you're getting normal calls from your contacts or obscure numbers, purple for Priority calls from organizations and conveyance administrations, red for spam calls, and gold for clients with overhauled Gold records. It is additionally essential to take note of that you can't record calls through the full-screen guest ID interface. Truecaller says this seems, by all accounts, to be a confinement for all outsider engineers building Android applications. Truecaller's full-screen caller ID interface (left) and the existing caller ID pop-up (right)                          To empower the new full-screen guest ID interface, you have to visit Settings > Caller ID > Full Screen. Best money manager apps in India
New Post has been published on https://financeqia.com/awesome/best-money-manager-apps-in-india/
Best money manager apps in India
For a lot of us, smartphones have replaced a lot of gadgets we used to use. It’s a camera, a music and video player, a gaming device, and even something as simple as a flashlight. You’ve saved a lot of money by get a smartphone instead of all those devices, but can it manage other expenses as well? As the saying runs, if specific features isn’t already built in, there’s probably an app for it. So, of course you are able to! Here are some of the best money administrator apps in India.
How they run
You may understandably be a bit hesitating about giving access to your bank account to a third-party app, so let’s take a look at exactly how these apps work before diving into what the best money director apps in India are.
Don’t worry, you won’t have to log in to your online banking in any way, or provide sensitive information like your net banking ID or password( and you should NEVER share that with anyone ). If an app other than government officials bank app asks for that info, stay as far away from it as possible. These apps require access to the SMS app and build your profile and expense reports from any business or service SMS you receive.
Since it’s mandatory to have a mobile phone linked to your bank account and you always get these messages, the reports are pretty accurate. You also have to log in to these money administrator apps with a phone number or email address. These don’t have to be linked to your bank account though, since the money administrator utilizes your SMS app and nothing else.
Granted, this isn’t a perfect answer and some expenditures may fall through the fissures. When I was traveling outside India last month and using a different phone number, I wasn’t receiving any transaction messages because my bank cards are are connected to my Indian phone number. Luckily, all these apps let you manually add expenditures too.
FinArt
FinArt is the simplest app on such lists. If you are looking for a quick and easy route to keep a way of your expenditures with no additional bells and whistles, this is one of the best money administrator apps in India you can get.
After downloading the app and logging in, all your expenditure information is available on the first page. The expenditures are sorted into various categories like travel, bills, dining, shopping, and more, and showcased in handy tart or bar charts. The pie chart transgresses the info down based on percentages, while the bar chart tells you exactly you much you’ve spent across the different categories. Tapping on a category gives you a listing of individual expenses.
Below the chart, a graph shows you the total monthly expenses for the last six months. Tap on the large plus icon in between them to manually add an expense, which is ideal for cash transactions or things you are not able to have received an SMS for. The alarm icon at the top houses all your bills — paid and upcoming — and the icon next to it opens the budget dashboard. This lets you set an overall monthly budget, as well as restrictions for individual category transactions.
The hamburger menu is where you’ll find the Settings page. Apart from changing the decideds, you can also make a backup of the info, which will be necessary when you switch to a new phone( unless you back up your SMS as well ). Other decideds include the ability to exclude certain accounts, put in and sync the app with family members, and enable a privacy mode. The Account Balance section in the hamburger menu lets you know how much cash you have available across various accounts like PayTM, Amazon Pay, and other services you may have signed up for.
FinArt is an extremely useful app to stay on top of all your expenses and define budget limits for future transactions. The free version offer basic information like the expense charts and graphs, upcoming bills, and the budget dashboard. For most, the free version of the app should be more than enough to keep track of your expenditure.
The premium subscription expenses 499 rupees (~$ 7.25) a year. This allows for an ad-free experience, lets you keep a backup on Google Drive instead of third-party servers, and lets you sync data across multiple accounts and devices.
Download from the Google Play Store
Walnut
The Walnut app provides a lot more information than FinArt, and a few of its extra features that make it one of the best money administrator apps in India. If you’re looking for more than merely a simple breakdown of your expenses, this is the app for you.
On the front page of the app you’ll find your total expenditure for the month up top, together with short summaries of your most recent expenses, a reminder of upcoming bills and pays, and the accounts and cards that are linked to your phone number. Like FinArt, the Walnut app get the information collected by accessing the SMS app on your phone, and no sensitive bank datum is required.
Tapping on the tart icon opens up a pie chart with a percentage breakdown of your monthly expenditures across different categories like travelling, food, bills, shopping, amusement, and more. You also assure a list of exactly how much you’ve spent. You can find a merchant-based listing in the Merchants tab, while the Spends tab simply lists the most recent expenses. Apart from the monthly expenditure sum, you will also find a daily average up top, and you can easily set a budget from this page as well.
Tapping on the bar icon on the main page( next to the pie chart icon) gives you the total expenditures on a daily basis, and per month for six months, a year, or all hour. The plus icon at the bottom left of the main page lets you manually add cash expenditures. In fact, the app doesn’t count cash withdrawals when creating your expenditure report, with the assumption that this is something that will be manually added, to avoid duplicates.
Tapping anywhere at the bottom of the app, next to the plus icon, opens up one of the extremely useful additional features that are available. Apart from maintaining a way of your expenses, the Walnut app also lets you split bills with friends, and even pay or request payment via the app. Money transfers are done using BHIM UPI, so you will need to have a virtual payment address put up. Any transaction is automatically updated in the expense report as well.
The Settings page is available via the profile icon at the top right of the main page. Apart from app preferences, you can also look at a weekly expense summing-up, recurring expends( like rent ), and email statements.
Another very useful feature that shouldn’t be tucked away in the Settings menu is the Active ATMs Around section. While get money from an ATM isn’t nearly as much of a hassle as it was a year or so ago when demonetization was at its peak, it’s still great to have a map of ATMs available that have cash in them. The datum is reported by users of the Walnut app.
Finally, there’s Walnut Prime, but unlike what its name wished to suggest, this isn’t a premium subscription to use the app or unlock features. Instead, you get access to a credit line of up to 5 lakh rupees (~$ 7260 ), with EMI schemes between three and 36 months for refund. Of course, you will have to submit your PAN card information to check eligibility and the credit limit available to you.
Download from the Google Play Store
ETMoney
ETMoney is the country’s highest rated personal finance app, so it’s no surprise that it is on a listing of the best money manager apps in India. Unlike FinArt and Walnut, ETMoney does a lot more than a simple expense tracker and can truly be the one and only app to cover all your finance tracking needs.
However, to start with, let’s look at the expense tracking features the app offers. Tapping on Spends takes you to the expense tracker. Your monthly expenditures are sorted into various categories like Feeing Out, Shopping, ATM Withdrawal, Entertainment, and more. Tapping on an individual category provides a more detailed breakdown of expenditures in that category. You can also sort through your expenditures based on merchants or accounts connected with the app.
The graph icon at the top right corner opens a weekly expenditure report with the total daily expenditures listed. Tapping on Know More dedicates even more detail — you can see your expenditures on weekdays and over the weekend, along with the top categories, merchants, and accounts.
ETMoney is great for detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports, but if you’re hoping to track spending tendencies over a longer period of time, like six months to a year, this app isn’t for you. The Bill Calendar lets you are aware of all the pending bills due or delayed.
However, expenditure tracking is only one facet of its money managing features. The app actively fosters saving with SmartDeposit, which lets you set up one-time or recurring deposits with the Reliance Liquid Fund Direct-Growth. You can start with a deposit of as low as 500 rupees (~$ 7.26) and there’s a promise of better returns when compared to merely maintaining the money in your savings account. Often, knowing where to keep your savings is the biggest issue, and ETMoney takes the guesswork out of the equation.
If you’re looking to diversify your portfolio and want greater investment options, ETMoney provides an excellent mutual fund guide. Categories include Tax Saver, Aggressive funds, Safe monies, and even more detailed categories like Best Large Cap monies, Top Rated Multi-Cap monies, and a whole lot more. Not only do you have all the research — marketplace trends, fund performance, and more — at your fingertips, but you are able to invest in funds you’ve selected immediately from the app.
If you’re in a bit of a crunch, ETMoney also provides Personal Loans. Pending eligibility, you can borrow any amount up to 20 lakhs (~$ 29,032) with ETMoney’s LoanPass( for small loans) and Personal Loan( for larger sums ). You can also buy health, life, automobile, and two-wheeler insurance and also invest in gold deposits directly from the app.
There are a slew of finance management apps on the Google Play Store. Some are expense trackers. Others help with investments. Many offer loan and insurance services. ETMoney brings all that together. It’s a one-stop answer provider for all your financial needs.
Download from the Google Play Store
Which is the right money administrator for you?
All three apps are some of the best money director apps in India right now. It ultimately comes down to how much they can do. FinArt and Walnut are fantastic expenditure trackers. The former is the simpler of the two though and requires a subscription to unlock all its features, and the latter comes with additional features like money transfers, bill splitting, and an option to get a credit line.
ETMoney offers truly detailed daily and weekly reports, but isn’t much assist if you want to track long term spending trends. However, if you want a single app for all, and I do mean all, your financial needs, ETMoney is the way to go. From mutual fund and gold investments, to getting personal loans and insurance, ETMoney lets you do everything.
What money manager app do you use? Are there others that deserve to be on this list? Let us know in the comments segment below!

The digital payments scene in India is fiercely contested by a number of participants. Recently, one of India’s popular digital payments company – Paytm, wrote to the National Payments Corporate of India (NPCI), who govern digital payments regulations in our country, about Google Pay’s privacy policy.
Paytm wrote that “We would like to highlight a very important fact that Google Pay, which is an unregulated payments platform, has the scope of using their customers’ data for their monetary gains with complete disregard of the user’s need for privacy. The critical payments data collected by them is being processed and stored outside of India, which can have severe security implications in case of a data breach as their policy states that this data is also being disclosed with advertisers and third-parties”. Courtesy – Business Today, dated Sept 13.
Click here, to understand all about a personal loan in India
Paytm accused Google Pay of sharing their customer data with different affiliate companies for monetary gain. Various third party users also use the customer data to send out advertisements and hence misuse the information of trusted customers for monetary advantages. This is not the first time that Paytm has cried foul towards overseas companies violating customer data and privacy. Prior to this, Paytm had stated that, WhatsApp was killing United Payments Interface (UPI) by creating a walled garden.
The central government is still in the process of preparing a personal data protection bill which will mandate the storage of customer data related to digital payment companies in India. The draft regulations, issued in 2018 recommended that customer’s personal data originated within India cannot be stored outside of India. Google’s response to this was that it made use of a common Google account for managing all Google products. This allows the customer to manage or check on risk, spam, and fraud. Google clarified that it did not make use of any individual UPI transactions for monetization purposes (as per Google statement).
Since then, Google got its privacy policy tweaked. They have dropped the word ‘disclosure’ from its privacy clause.
Digital India 2.0
Through enhanced connectivity, widespread social media usage and internet outreach, we have gotten ourselves to think more about data protection in India. India, has also become a lucrative market for overseas companies to cash in on customer data. The following couple of years will get us more clarity on the regulations and its implementation.
Digital payments companies such as PhonePe, MobiKwik and Paytm have already backed the RBI’s decision to supervise the access of data stored with system providers. Till August 2018, close to 92 million customers transacted on Paytm through both their offline and online interface. G Pay, meanwhile has already recorded close to 22 million transactions up until now. India’s e-payments market pie is estimated to grow to close to 1 trillion dollars by 2023 (as per Credit Suisse). Close to 100 players in India (including 60 non-banking) have crowded the e-payments ecosystem.
But then, why does Loan Singh have to care about all this? Our customers are salaried millennials. Millennials have found digital wallets to make digital payments to be extremely convenient. A digital wallet is likened to a traditional leather wallet. It is a safer and convenient way to safeguard your money and cards. It stores your personal and financial information in a digitized form. It is an electronic platform that allows individuals to make electronic transactions. Digital wallets allow us to perform offline, as well as online, transactions to merchants who are registered with a digital wallet service provider.
We have seen these same salaried millennials struggle in getting fresh credit through traditional banks. Most of them are rejected a first time loan due to no prior credit history. This happens because banks do not find such individuals trustworthy or simply creditworthy. Loan Singh is ready to take that risk. Loan Singh is a digital lending platform that lets first-time salaried individuals apply for fresh credit even with no credit score. But to mitigate the risks of default, Loan Singh needs the latest 6 months’ bank statement, PAN card and Aadhaar card of the applicant.

Digital Wallet Payments
The working of a digital wallet is different from that of other card payments. A digital wallet makes use of a Near Field Communication (NFC) controller and antennae to enable mobile devices to send out account information to devices at payment counters. A secure smart card chip on the phone stores and allows access to the account information. All this can be executed via the installed digital wallet application on your smartphone. The communication is not restricted to NFC, but can also be done via web links, QR Code, SMS or even social media.
During the payment process, the shopper is authenticated. Then the shopper has access to the full features present on the digital wallet account. Merchants have to strongly consider their customer base while setting-up a digital wallet service because not everyone will be intending to make payments via digital wallets. In the world of digital wallets, there is not much difference between customers or merchants. It is just an accounting ledger convention wherein the payment from a customer to a merchant is just a database update (as all the money is flowing in the wallet itself). The working of a digital wallet is only effective if the API integration, for merchants, is done properly.
It requires effective security and permissions to access your information
The wallet can be used to purchase products online or offline
A password, QR code, an image or some authentication code is used for security
The digital wallet is linked to your bank account
Digital wallets allow currency conversions
Shoppers can also create an unverified digital wallet at the time of payment
It can also be used for authentication. For example: to verify the age while purchasing alcohol

Tips on English Reading Comprehensions
3 TIPS on solving Reading Comprehension Questions in Online Tests
Tip 1: Read the Question first before reading the passage
Promotion of a digital economy is an integral part of Government’s strategy to clean the system and weed out corruption and black money. It has a transformative impact in terms of greater formalization of the economy and mainstreaming of financial savings into the banking system. This, in turn, is expected to energize private investment in the country through lower cost of credit. India is now on the cusp of a massive digital revolution. A shift to digital payments has huge benefits for the common man. The earlier initiative of our Government to promote financial inclusion and the JAM trinity were important precursors to our current push for digital transactions. Already there is evidence of increased digital transactions. The BHIM app has been launched. It will unleash the power of mobile phones for digital payments and financial inclusion. 125 lakh people have adopted the BHIM app so far. The Government will launch two new schemes to promote the usage of BHIM; these are, Referral Bonus Scheme for individuals and a Cashback Scheme for merchants. Aadhar Pay, a merchant version of Aadhar Enabled Payment System, will be launched shortly. This will be specifically beneficial for those who do not have debit cards, mobile wallets and mobile phones. A Mission will be set up with a target of 2,500 crore digital transactions for 2017-18 through UPI, USSD, Aadhar Pay, IMPS and debit cards. Banks have targeted to introduce additional 10 lakh new PoS terminals by March 2017. They will be encouraged to introduce 20 lakh Aadhar based PoS by September 2017. Increased digital transactions will enable small and micro enterprises to access formal credit. Government will encourage SIDBI to refinance credit institutions which provide unsecured loans, at reasonable interest rates, to borrowers based on their transaction history. The digital payment infrastructure and grievance handling mechanisms shall be strengthened. The focus would be on rural and semi urban areas through Post Offices, Fair Price Shops and Banking Correspondents. Steps would be taken to promote and possibly mandate petrol pumps, fertilizer depots, municipalities, Block offices, road transport offices, universities, colleges, hospitals and other institutions to have facilities for digital payments, including BHIM App. A proposal to mandate all Government receipts through digital means, beyond a prescribed limit, is under consideration. Government will strengthen the Financial Inclusion Fund to augment resources for taking up these initiatives. Government will consider and work with various stakeholders for early implementation of the interim recommendations of the Committee of Chief Ministers on digital transactions.
Question: How many people have adopted the BHIM App?
If the question asks for a very specific value, you don’t have to read the whole passage. You can skim through it until you find the information is needed to answer the question.
Tip 2: Use your best judgment on questions related to the Author’s motives, tone, purpose etc
Two principles are involved in the controversy about the presence of foreign controlled media in the country; the free flow of ideas and images across national borders and the need to safeguard the national interest and preserve cultural autonomy. Both are valid but both are at loggerheads because each has been used to promote less lofty goals. The first principle conforms to a moral imperative: freedom to expression cannot rhyme with restrictions imposed by any government. But the free flow rhetoric also clouds the fact that the powerful Western, and especially American media, can and often do present, subtly or brazenly, news in a manner that promotes Western political, ideological and strategic interests. Besides, Western entertainment programs present lifestyles and values that run counter to the lifestyles and values cherished by traditional societies. All this explains why so many Indian newspapers, magazines and news agencies have sought protection from the courts to prevent foreign publications and news agencies from operating in the country. Their arguments are weak on two counts. As the bitter debate on a new world information and communication order demonstrated in the late seventies and early eighties, many of those who resent Western ‘invasion’ in the fields of information and culture are no great friends of democracy. Secondly, the threat of such an ‘invasion’ has been aired by those media groups in the developing countries that fear that their business interests will be harmed if Western groups, equipped with large financial and technological resources and superior management skills, are allowed to operate in the country without let. The fear is valid but it goes against the grain of the economic reform programme. The presence of foreign newspapers and television channels will increase competition, which, in the course of time, can only lead to the up gradation of dynamic Indian newspapers and television channels, even while they drive the rest out of the market. One way to strike a balance between the two antagonistic principles would be to allow foreign media entry into the country, provided the India state treats them at par with the domestic media on all fronts. On the import of technology, for instance, foreign media cannot be allowed duty concessions denied to their Indian counterparts. Foreign media will also have to face legal consequences should they run foul of Indian laws. Why, for example, should the BBC, or Time magazine or The Economist get away by showing a map of Kashmir, which is at variance with the official Indian map? Why should they go scot-free when they allow secessionists and terrorists to air their views without giving the government the right to reply, or when they depict sexually explicit scenes, which would otherwise not be cleared by the Censor Board?
Question: Which of the following seems to be the most likely purpose of writing this passage?
a)    To criticize foreign media
b)    To highlight the steps and caution to be taken about the entry of foreign media (Correct)
c)    To make the public aware of the technological superiority of western media
d)    To prevent foreign media from entering our country
Here, we can quickly eliminate options A and C. Although the author is critical about the entry of foreign media, he does not wish to prevent their entry but to highlight certain precautions that must be taken. Hence, B would be the right answer.
Tip 3: Use only the passage (not your personal opinions, politics and values) in choosing the answer
The happy man is the man who lived objectively, who has free affection and wide interest, who secures his happiness through these interests and affections and through the fact that they, in turn, make him an object of interest and affection to many others. To be the recipient of affection is a potent cause of happiness, but the man who demands affection is not the man upon whom it is bestowed. The man who receives affection is, speaking broadly, the man who gives it. But it useless to attempt to give it as a calculation, in the way in which one might lend money at interest, for a calculated affection is not genuine and is not felt to be so by the recipient. What then can a man do who is unhappy because he is encased in self? So long as he continues to think about the cause of his unhappiness, he continues to be self-centered and therefore does not get outside, the vicious circle if he is to get outside it, it must be by genuine interests, not by simulated interest accepted merely as a medicine. Although this difficulty is real, there is nevertheless much that he can do if he has rightly diagnosed his trouble. If, for example, his trouble is due to a sense of sin, conscious or unconscious he can first persuade his conscious mind that he has no reason to feel sinful, and then proceed, to plant his rational conviction in his unconscious mind, concerning himself meanwhile with some more or less neutral activity. If he succeeds in dispelling the sense of sin, it is possible that genuine objective interests will arise spontaneously. If his trouble is self-pity, he can deal with it in the same manner after first persuading himself that there is nothing extraordinarily unfortunate in his circumstances. If fear is his trouble, let him practice exercises designed to give courage. Courage has been recognized from time immemorial as an important virtue, and a great part of training of boys and young men has been devoted to producing a type of character capable of fearlessness in battle. But moral courage and intellectual courage have been much less studied, they also, however, have their technique, admit to yourself every day at least one painful truth, your will find his quite useful. Teach yourself to feel that life still be worth living even if you were not, as of course you are immeasurably superior to all your friends in virtue and in intelligence. Exercises of this sort prolonged through several years will at last enable you to admit facts without flinching and will, in so doing, free you from the empire of feat over a very large filed.
Question: What happens when you think about cause of your unhappiness?
a)    You try to introspect and look critically at yourself
b)    You realize that the life can lived in different ways
c)    You try to practice exercise designed to give courage
d)    You remain a self-centered person (Correct)
You may disagree with the opinions of the author, but while answering the question, please select the answer only based on the information provided in the passage.

How UPI Can Make India A Cashless Economy?
The Government has scrapped 500 and 1000 rupee notes, to curb black money in the economy. Black money fuels corruption and terrorism in India. However the scrapping of 500 and 1000 rupee notes, creates the need for an alternative to cash. This gives an opportunity for India to become a cashless economy. A lot of citizens believe, mobile wallet is the solution to make India cashless. The mobile wallet can help India become a cashless economy. Do you want to send your friend money, using just your phone number? The mobile wallet can help you do so. Want to receive money from a friend? The mobile wallet can help you do that too. You can even transact online using your phone number, without the need for a credit or a debit card.
But there’s a small problem….Let’s say you have a bank account. Mobile wallets take you and other users with bank accounts, outside the banking system. The mobile wallets allow you to transfer money, within the wallets of the same provider. You use a mobile wallet of ABC Provider. You can send/receive money from your friends or family, only if they have a mobile wallet of the same provider (ABC Provider). To encash money stored in a mobile wallet is quite difficult. You have to transfer money into a bank account.
Can UPI Make India a Cashless Economy?
Unified payment Interface also known as UPI, helps you send and receive money, using your smart phone. UPI is a bank account to bank account, money transfer system. You can transfer money in an instant.
How does the UPI work?
All you need is a bank account, an android Smartphone and a registered mobile number, which is linked to your bank account. Download UPI App from any of the participating banks (there are 21 banks), from Google play store.
You register for UPI and create a virtual payment address (VPA). Your VPA looks like this, [email protected]
·         Name = your name
·         Bank name = name of the bank
You can send/receive money from your friends/family, if they use the UPI. Just use your virtual payment address, to transfer money to family and friends.
How to receive money using UPI?
·         Just Login to UPI based app
·         Click on UPI app and choose Collect via UPI
·         You then enter the virtual payment address (VPA), of the person, from whom you want to receive money.
·         You enter the amount and any remarks if needed.
·         If you have multiple bank accounts/ virtual payment addresses, you choose the virtual payment address, where you want to receive money.
·         You then submit the details and wait for approval.
What are the benefits of the UPI app ?
o    Send/receive money from friends and relatives.
o    Buy railway and movie tickets.
o    Pay utility bills.
o    Pay insurance premium.
o    Donate money to a good cause or pay your child’s school fees.
o    Direct payment at online shopping websites.
UPI is the answer to make India cashless. UPI app has the power to penetrate far more homes, than all the mobile wallets put together. Using UPI you can link two or three bank accounts and send/receive money, just by sending a message on this app. You can send money up to INR 1 Lakh, to your friends or relatives, using your mobile, without entering debit/credit card details, net banking, wallet password or even the receiver’s bank account. Yes…You can send money using UPI, without knowing the receiver’s bank account number or even IFSC code. It’s just like magic. Be Wise, Get Rich.

Truecaller Received New Smart SMS Update, Full-Screen Called ID & More: Check Here
Truecaller Received New Update Included Nee Home Tab, Full-Screen Caller ID, Smart SMS Features & More
Truecaller uses the automatic machine to automatically sort messages into four groups: personal, important, other, and spam.
Truecaller reported an upgrade and another Smart SMS include in an offer to improve its informing offering.
To show all messeges in open place, Truecaller has added important tabs
Truecaller says in an official statement that the new tab will assist clients with monitoring bills, installments, and spending plans.
Truecaller claims that all handling of its AI calculation happens disconnected, and "no message leaves the cell phone."
How does the spam channel work?
Truecaller as of now has a current framework to ensure against spam messages and, obviously, calls. The application has more than 20 crore month to month dynamic clients, and it gathers reports from these clients just as in-house calculations to stamp spam messages. As indicated by Truecaller, it has hindered more than 1,000 crore spam calls. Since spammers utilize different telephone numbers Truecaller says it takes a gander at the sender as well as peruses your messages (just disconnected, on your gadget, the representative noted) to choose its classification suitably.
Kunal Dua, Product Director at Truecaller Messaging said "Irrespective of the sender being updated, the categorizer is intelligent enough to differ and answer" while at the same time tending to the media at a virtual press preparation.
Truecaller's greatest premium market
India has more than 15 crore month to month dynamic Truecaller clients, and practically 50% of them have set Truecaller as their default dialler, a representative disclosed.
New interface
Truecaller has included a Home tab from where you'll discover every one of your calls and messages converged into a solitary rundown. This is not normal for the prior interface in which you had various tabs symbols for Messages, Contacts, Calls, UPI, and Premium. Be that as it may, you despite everything have the Contacts, Premium, and Payments tabs — nearby the new Home tab.
Truecaller has a new Home tab for your messages and calls
Truecaller also has the guest ID in full screen which shows you who is calling on a full screen.
