Offshore cash of Aliya Nazarbayeva for $312 million
The youngest daughter of the ex-president of Kazakhstan bought a mansion in London, a villa in Dubai, a Challenger Bombardier aircraft and a 51% stake in the Swiss CBH Bank
Nazarbayev’s youngest daughter withdrew more than $300 million from Kazakhstan and spent it on luxury real estate, a private jet and other assets, The Telegraph reported. The purchases became known from a lawsuit filed by Nazarbayeva against her financial advisers.
Aliya Nazarbayeva, the youngest daughter of former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, took over $300 million of her personal fortune out of Kazakhstan on the advice of financial advisers and spent it on luxury real estate, a private jet and other assets, The Telegraph reported.
The publication refers to documents on the lawsuit against financial consultants Malik Ishmuratov and Denis Korotkov-Koganovich for £165 million ($233 million), which Nazarbayeva filed with the London High Court. In the lawsuit, Nazarbayeva accused the defendants of dishonesty, misappropriation of funds, conspiracy to commit fraud, unjust enrichment, and so on.
According to court documents seen by the publication, Nazarbayeva claimed that consultants convinced her to remove the fortune from Kazakhstan, arguing that it was not safe to store it there. Nazarbayeva said she made $325 million from the sale of shares in Kazakh companies and transferred a total of $312 million to a network of offshore trusts and companies “from Liechtenstein to the British Virgin Islands.”
According to The Telegraph, Nazarbayeva used the money to buy expensive property, including a private Challenger Bombardier jet worth $25 million, a house worth £8.75 million ($11.6 million at the current exchange rate) in London, intended for obtaining a residence permit. in the UK, as well as a 51% stake in a Swiss bank.
novayagazeta.ru, 01/10/2022, “The Telegraph: Nazarbayev’s daughter withdrew about $300 million from Kazakhstan, spending them on a plane, a villa in Dubai and a mansion in London”: Journalists note that the daughter of the first president of Kazakhstan also acquired several properties in Dubai, including a villa on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah. She spent about $14 million on this.
Aliya Nazarbayeva studied in London, Faculty of International Relations at the University of Richmond. She worked in the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan, and also produced documentaries and feature films.
Aliya’s father, Nursultan Nazarbayev, after leaving the post of President of Kazakhstan, headed the country’s Security Council; he had great powers. Amid mass protests that began in the country on January 2, the current president of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, removed the politician from his post and took over his post himself.
Nazarbayeva claimed that Ishmuratov told her that, as a politically exposed person, she could not simply open a bank account, so she needed to buy a bank to solve this problem. It follows from the documents that Nazarbayeva, on the recommendation of Ishmuratov, invested $108 million in a private Swiss bank, CBH Bank, in exchange for a 51% stake.
Nazarbayeva’s lawsuit was filed back in 2016, but the details of the case became known only now, the newspaper notes. Representatives of Ishmuratov and Korotkov-Koganovich said, upon inquiry, that the unfounded accusations against them were dismissed by the court, and after that a settlement agreement was reached. Nazarbayeva herself did not respond to a request for comment.
“Radio Azattyk”, Kazakhstan, 09/17/2021, “Nazarbayev’s daughter presented a book in Almaty. Events banned in the city due to quarantine”: Aliya Nazarbayeva, 41, is the youngest daughter of former Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his wife Sarah.
This year, Aliya Nazarbayeva made headlines in the Swiss media in connection with the suicide of a doctor who, according to the press, owed a large amount of money to the company of the daughter of the former president of Kazakhstan, who was going to build a medical clinic for wealthy people in a European country.
Kaktus.media, 03/20/2019, “What is known about the members of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s family”: The youngest daughter of the Kazakh leader owns a chain of fitness clubs, the Alsara jewelry company, and manages the Elitstroy construction company. She also owns a production company that makes documentaries. Last year, as a producer, she received a state award for the film “The Road to Mother”, and her father presented the award to her. Now she is working on the historical film “Tomiris”, which is scheduled for release in May 2019.
In the early 2000s, she was married to Aidar Akaev, the eldest son of Askar Akaev. The life of the young did not work out, and the couple soon divorced. Then she married a businessman and football player Daniyar Khasenov, from whom she gave birth to two daughters.
Now she is married to Dimash Dosanov. He has worked in the oil business for many years and is now the head of Kaztransoil, the largest oil supplier in Kazakhstan.
Aliya Nazarbayeva is the mother of four children.

I almost died this 2020!
On this day last year, my wife and I travelled to Dubai and stayed at my siblings for 2 weeks. Imagine naka-lagpas ako sa immigration.lol The face of the officer when I said that I don’t have a job! Ahaha
Tumblr media
We stayed in a hotel in Al Barsha in New Year’s eve. Overviewing our hotel room, we can see the fireworks coming from Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab. The room has its own kitchen so we could cook. This is one of my happiest moments during our stay.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve had high hopes and pretty excited this 2020. Imagine Dubai 2020 is coming up, Tokyo Olympics, new work (supposedly!), and even the year 2020 itself looks promising (vision 2020).
Then there came the news about Iran attacking a US fighter plane. We thought there’s gonna be a war coming. Thank goodness it never happened. We went back to Ph the day after the Taal volcano erupted, our house full of ashes, pandemic happened, Philippines was in a total lockdown.
For first 2 months of ECQ, I wake up as early as 4AM just for the supply run. And still has no job. Everywhere I went, even news is kind of depressing. Marami akong kakilala na namatayan.
Kung last year, my wife surprised me with a Jollibee kiddie party, ngayon Mcdo birthday package takeout na lang which is very understandable.
Months went by and I suffered from a back pain. Nang napansin ko di mawala-wala I’ve decided to go to the hospital. Kasi nanganganak na yung sakit ko. Abnormal bowel movements, palpitations, abnormal heartbeats, numbness of my lower body, dizziness, lightheadedness, I almost can’t sleep at night. Kung ano-ano na nababasa ko sa mayoclinic tungkol sa sakit ko. I feel like I have a very serious illness. I feel so weak. I lost my appetite. 5 kilos lost in just 2 weeks.
3x akong nagpa checkup sa hospital. Took some medicines, X-ray, ECG, blood chems. I feel like my BP is always high. But all went down when my lab results came out. Normal lang halos lahat.
Pero I still feel like I’m not feeling well. Went to see another doctor. I was surprised to see my BP is just pretty normal. 120/80. I mean, huh? Parang may mali, ah. The doctor was in a full PPE while I was telling my story. And then she said, alam mo kung anong sakit mo? You’re in an anxious state.”
I’m still hopeful for this coming 2021. Masakit pa rin likod ko. Pero laban lang. :)

How Much Does It Cost to Go to Dubai?
Have you ever wondered how much does it cost to go to Dubai? The city is often viewed as the city of the future with its skyscrapers that touch the clouds and surreal man-made attractions such as islands in the shape of the world. While there’s no denying that Dubai can be an expensive city to visit, you might be surprised to find out what a Dubai trip cost looks like. How much you spend depends on where you stay, what you want to do, and how long you’ll be there. For the purpose of this article, I’m going to focus on 5 nights and six days, but you could easily see the entire city in just three days. This Dubai guide will give you a good idea of what to see when you’re in the city and how much you’ll spend. Remember, my estimates are based on a single traveller, so if you’re travelling as a couple, double your costs (minus the hotels).
Tumblr media
Dubai Trip Cost
The above estimate is in American dollars, so please use xe.com to find the average costs in your home country. If you’re Canadian, you may want to consider applying for one of the best travel credit cards in Canada to help offset your costs by collecting points. For example, the American Express Platinum Card gives you a signup bonus of 60,000 American Express Membership Rewards points which have a minimum value of $600 (potentially more if you transfer your points to Aeroplan or Marriott Bonvoy). There’s also the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite card that has no foreign transaction fees and it comes with airport lounge access. For reference, I was able to fly to Dubai in business class on EgyptAir using my Aeroplan points. To get home, I used AlaskaMiles and flew Emirates A380 First Class which is a bucket list item for many travellers.
Airfare
Although Dubai has one of the busiest airports in the world, it’s still relatively expensive to fly to. I’ve estimated a flight to be around $900 but that’s if you’re coming from North America. Generally speaking, if you’re flying from Europe, Africa or Asia, then flights are will be around the $600-$700 range. Flights from within the Middle East can also be reasonably priced. One thing to note, Dubai is the hub for Emirates. If you fly Emirates, you can get a free stopover in the city. In other words, if you’re travelling anywhere where Emirates services, it could be a good value for you to stopover in Dubai for a few days first. This won’t necessarily reduce your Dubai trip costs, but it’s a good way to maximize your vacation plans.
Local Transportation
Dubai’s main mode of public transportation is the metro which has two lines. The red line runs above ground mostly parallel to Sheikh Zayed Road and goes all the way to the airport. The green line is underground and goes through Al Karama, Al Raffa, Al Rigga and Al Qusais. The Dubai Metro does not accept cash fares, you must buy a Nol card which is reloadable. Tourists will want to buy the red card. The amount you pay is based on how many zones you travel. One zone is 4 dirhams, two zones are 6 dirhams and 3+ zones will set you back 8.50 dirhams. The Marina area is serviced by a tram that’s not directly connected to the metro. Rides cost 4 dirhams. There’s also the monorail that services the Palm Jumeirah which will cost you 20 dirhams for a one-way ticket or 30 dirhams for a return ticket. Dubai also has many public buses. Despite the many public transportation options, it’ll likely be easier for tourists to use a taxi, Uber or Careem (the local Uber). Generally speaking, Dubai taxi fares are roughly 75 cents a minute. Remember, it usually won’t take you more than 20-25 mins to get anywhere in Dubai. Yes, it would be cheaper to take public transportation, but despite the network, it takes quite a bit of time and you’ll need to do a lot of walking. For example, it could easily take you an hour to get from your hotel in Downtown Dubai to the beach or Marina.
For the purpose of this how much does it cost to go to Dubai trip estimate, I’m estimating $40 a day with the assumption you’re just taking taxis most of the time.
Cost to Go to Dubai
So how much does it cost to go to Dubai? I estimate you’ll spend about US$2,850 for five nights and six days. This isn’t terribly expensive, but it’s also not cheap. For many people, Dubai is a bucket list destination so it’s well worth the cost. The nice thing about Dubai is that it’s a major hub for flights and cruises so it’s easy to get to the region. For more inspiration, check out my guides to Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Europe.
Can You Visit Dubai on a Budget?
Dubai on a budget is possible it just depends on what you’re willing to sacrifice. There are plenty of budget hotels in Deira and Sharjah. You could also use public transportation instead of taking taxis everywhere. It’s not hard to find cheap food, just don’t expect anything fancy. It’s hard to save on attractions since the top sites typically have an admission fee.
What Is the Cheapest Time to Go to Dubai?
The busy season in Dubai is November – January when the heat is manageable. Since Dubai is in a desert, the heat can be quite intense around June and July. September is usually the cheapest time to go to Dubai as the summer is over and many visitors have returned home in time for their children to start the new school year.
What Should I Avoid in Dubai?
Dubai is a very religious and conservative country so you need to be aware of their laws. Don’t display any public displays of affection and don’t make any jokes about the rulers. Don’t even think about committing any crimes as the punishments are quite severe. Medicine can often be considered controlled substances, so ensure you have doctor’s notes with you if you’re brining any into the country.
