Yo, I've been a fan of your human au after stumbling across it a few weeks ago! Been thinking about it, but I want to see a story involving any of the tugs with their pets!
Hello, thanks for being a fan! I think I have something that will fulfill your request.
---
The winter sun had set some time ago, the low hanging clouds had begun to release snow, big white flakes dusting the sidewalks and streets as they fell. Warrior pulled his coat tighter around himself as the cold wind blew in from the port. He was no stranger to the cold, but this winter was particularly harsh and freezing. He walked at a quicker pace, eager to be inside as soon as possible.
The building he lived in was an old one, cracked and weathered by time. It sat in the shadows of the taller, newer buildings around it. Most would've ignored it, but to Warrior, it was his home, the best he ever had. As he walked towards the stairs, he noticed something in the shadow of the stairs, a small, trembling bundle. Warrior knelt down to inspect it. A small gray tabby kitten was huddled against the cracked stone stairs. "Hey there little fella." Warrior said. He reached out his hand gently. The kitten let out a hiss and a mewl. "I won't hurt you. I promise." He gently scooped up the small creature. He could feel its frantic heartbeat as he hugged the kitten close to his chest, wrapping it in his jacket. The kitten let out another mewl in protest. "Sorry, but I'm going to help you. I promise. I'm going to take you somewhere warmer." Warrior said as he brought the kitten inside.
Warrior threw the door open. Big Mac was sitting on the couch, half asleep. He had been shifting coal since three in the morning. Big Mac startled as Warrior slammed the door. "Whoops, didn't mean to do that." he said.
"Oh, it's just ye, Warrior." Big Mac said with a yawn. "Did everything go okay without me today?"
"I think so." Warrior said dismissively. "I found a kitten. I'm trying to warm it up." He showed Big Mac the small kitten in his jacket. The kitten mewed again.
"Where'd ye find that little thing?" Big Mac asked.
"Outside the building."
"You keep it wrapped up, I'll get it some milk." Big Mac stood up. Warrior took off his jacket, sitting down with the small creature. "Do ye have a name fer it?" Big Mac asked.
"I don't know..." Warrior paused, looking at the kitten. "What about Stripes?"
"Ah think that's a good name." Big Mac nodded. He returned holding a small saucer full of milk, holding it beneath the kitten's nose. The kitten sniffed at the milk, before its small pink tongue began to lap at it.
"Are you saying we can keep it?" Warrior looked at his brother hopefully.
"Of course. Besides, it can learn to catch mice when it gets older."
"You hear that Stripes? You get to stay here." Warrior gently patted the kitten's head.
