"Oh, you've come here as well, Rosado?" Citrinne opens the encounter with a rhetorical question. There is a hint of surprise in seeing one of the (cuter) allies from Elyos, but he is far from the first ally she has reunited with across the sea. Still, the ability to avoid the need for additional introductions is much appreciated. Even moreso when the red cloth equipped on Rosado's person is what drives Citrinne to speak with the retainer now.
"Please listen carefully. I believe you will be on the same team as Lapis. Can I trust you to look out for her? I have no proper gift to exchange as of now, but I promise to provide you with fair commute once the month is through. You only need to name your price."
Sunglasses cover the noble's eyes from view, so she gives a reassuring smile to imply her faith in him. "And, if it's not much trouble...do not tell Lapis I asked you of this. She is a stronger individual than me, and I would prefer that strength remains unscathed during our time here."
HE PIVOTS AROUND TO THE SOUND OF HIS NAME. and is met with elegant blonde coiffes ; long, flattering dress ; vigilant dark eyes that pin him right in place. "oh, hi citrinne." it feels like he should say lady citrinne, but then... that also doesn't feel totally right coming from him either.
he'll just hope she isn't offended.
please listen carefully, she says. oh!——all right. he stands a little straighter at the tone, ready to hear about something serious or maybe he'd made some kind of faux-pas without knowing?
wait, no, this is about... lapis? opal eyes blink through the rest of citrinne's explanation, the ask to look out for her partner retainer, and the promise of compensation, and notice the green band sported in sharp contrast to the rest of her look. anyone else and he'd say it wasn't a big deal, but he'd heard that people in brodia took this kind of fair payment thing pretty seriously. so maybe he should just take it in stride? lapis and he might get along great, but maybe citrinne still held it against him for the stuff at the bridge, so...
guess this is one of those etiquette things he should just nod along with.

"oh, sure." tone schools into his best polite cadence——nothing too excited, willing without seeming weird. "no problem, lapis is safe with me." and then, partly because it's true and partly to end up on her good side, with a bit more animation: "and since she's really, really strong and all, i bet she won't have a single problem in the games."
eyes asparkle a little as sincerity bleeds in because he can't totally help himself ; he believes in lapis more than just about anything or anyone else.
like believing the sky is blue,
or the day'll always come.
"we're rooming together too i think, so that should make things even easier. but if you're worried, you can always stop by too."
