i'm barely a writer at this point so idk but ngl i'm kinda fascinated by people who raise the question of "if you normally don't like X, then why did you click on my fic in the first place, HMMM?". yknow, i mean, idk how other people do it, maybe it's just me, but i sorta author-jump? and sometimes an author i like has written something i usually don't enjoy, and sometimes i click out of pure curiosity. and when i don't like it, i click out, yeah, it's a nope for me! but when i do like or even adore it, i comment. positively. it's That Simple 4 me
#online existence is interesting in that you'd think some things are widespread but they really aren't#like i've internalized that It's Not About Me a good while ago. bitterly. so now seeing people go 'actually it's mean and hurtful to say#you dislike something i like very much' i go wuh? it's just someone stating their preferences? it's not about you?#again obviously it's the matter of phrasing because 'EW i HATE X lmao' =/= 'i don't really vibe with X' are both technically 'someone sayin#they dislike the thing i like' but cmon they're clearly not the same. it's just that when you talk about 'people saying they dislike' my#understanding is that people have said they dislike. not they they hate or that it fucking sucks. would i be hurt if someone said they#didn't like... idk. atz? no! it's their gotdamn right! in fact i would be interested in hearing out why because the way different people#perceive things is fascinating to me. but would i be hurt if someone said they HATED them with this particular tone of voice?#yeah. yeah i would. and i'd think this person must not really care about what others feel if they're so eager to loudly share the full#intensity of their opinions. but many such people are well-liked so it's none of my business in the end right.
