How did you get where you are now? Job wise I mean? Were you a college student before doing this or did you go looking for jobs in the art industry straight away?
Oh, well it's been quite a journey for me in terms of how I got to where I am right now but here's the full timeline (?):
August 1996 - BIRTH
April 2007 - I watch Brave Story at Tribeca Film Festival, life is changed and I decide to purse animation
June 2014 - Graduate high school and accepted into Montserrat College of Art for Animation & Interactive Media
Summer of 2016 - Studied abroad in Japan attending Niigata School of Art & Design
Summer of 2017 - First animation job as an animation intern for Sesame Street (yes that Sesame Street)
December 2017 - Graduated from college (yes I graduated early due to having college credits in high school), did not have a job lined up
2018 to 2019 - Living back in NY with my parents, working on indie animation productions, creating emotes and animated intros for content creators, applying and getting rejected from many job listings, received and fail multiple storyboard tests, developing my own projects and story ideas after years of not being able to for school work
July 2019 - Fly to California for the first time, made the decision to move in order to further pursue a career in animation, at this time the Nickelodeon Artist Program were accepting submissions so I busted out boards for a personal project in 3 days and submitted it (please do not be like me, take your time haha)
September 2019 - I receive a call from Nickelodeon and I go through a series of interviews for 2 months straight
Thanksgiving 2019 - I receive news I was selected as a trainee for the Nickelodeon Artist Program
January 2020 - Move to California and begin work as a trainee at Nickelodeon (specifically for Rugrats reboot)
March 2020 - The pandemic
July 2020 - I leave Nickelodeon and move onto Titmouse as a storyboard revisionist for Star Trek Lower Decks
November 2020 - My Supervising Director for Lower Decks recommends me to the first Critical Role show Legend of Vox Machina
December 2020 - I do freelance boards for Vox Machina and get hired as a full time revisionist for season 2
January 2021 - I receive a interview request for a job on WondLa at SkyDance due to one of the directors finding my work online, I heavily consider the job
May 2021 - My Adventures of Superman is announced, I draw a piece of fanart that goes viral
July 2021 - Vox Machina season 2 wraps, I receive an offer to return to Lower Decks season 3 as well to work on X-Men 97 (I said yes to Lower Decks)
August 2021 - Spiderman Freshmen Year (now known as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman) asks if I be interested to do boards, I decline not knowing what it was for
September 2021 - Showrunner for Spiderman contacts me personally for interview, my Superman fanart from May 2021 finds it way in front of the eyes of one of the creators for MAWS, still currently doing revisions for Lower Decks S3
October 2021 - Accept job offer as board artist for Spiderman, freelancing on MAWS as a character designer (first time doing this job), turn down SkyDance job offer
December 2021 - Wrapped on Lower Decks S3
January 2022 - Launch as board artist for Spiderman at Marvel Studios, still been developing my own personal projects at this point
February 2022 - Studio Shaft offers layout and genga work for Madoka Magia Record after seeing animation work of my personal projects, I accept
April 2022 - My episode of Madoka Magia Record airs, Studio Pierrot sends offer for work on Boruto
May 2022 - After my first episode on Boruto I am offered to work on Bleach Thousand Year Blood War, I accept and continue to on Bleach as of this post (3 seasons in total), Studio Mir offers me animation work for XMen 97 (I accept but only work on the first episode)
Summer of 2022 - Working on Spiderman, animating on animes, I think at some point this is when I was offered to do animation work for Castlevania Nocturne
November 2022 - Complete season 1 of Spiderman, Marvel/Disney lays me off for *reasons*, I receive an email about potential work on an unannounced show at Nickelodeon, I'm unemployed at this point
January 2023 - Collecting unemployment, freelancing on animes, trying to survive in general, also approached by Colosso to create my own course
February 2023 - Land a short gig on Big City Greens movie over at Disney TVA, Studio Mir once again offer me work but this time for second animated Witcher film
March 2023 - Land an interview as a character designer for that unannounced Nick show, didn't get the job
May 2023 - Wrap up on Big City Greens and Witcher, fly to Japan to relax (I failed)
July 2023 - Land a layout artist position at A24 (no it's not for Hazbin Hotel), Studio Mappa offer me work on Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Arc
September 2023 - Land another interview with Nickelodeon (this time for storyboard artist), freelancing on layouts and animation for Castlevania Nocturne S2, A24 job is stressing me out way too much so I decide to leave, MAWS hits me up for retakes on season 2
October 2023 - Wrap up at A24, I land the board artist job at Nick, I am also drowning in Jujutsu Kaisen production meltdown, complete my online course for Colosso, wrap up on MAWS S2
November 2023 - I start at Nick as a board artist, Colosso course release, I am still dying by the hands of Studio Mappa
January 2024 till now - Still boarding over at Nick and still animating on animes (I am VERY selective now about it though after JJK), I am also in therapy now Yeah so that's like, a real rough timeline over everything from school till now (and even then I am missing a lot of work details like video games and development projects due to NDAs). But pretty much what carried me was putting myself and my art out there on social media along with building relationships with people in the studios (outside of just my production) and that's how I've been able to maintain a steady work flow even when I was unemployed. Also not being afraid to develop my own ideas and share them since most of the times that gives the leadership a pretty good idea what sensibilities I have (and they just happen to match). I hope that answered your question!

The mcu is pretty okay with continuity errors right? I mean there’s not too many blatantly obvious ones that you can spot, unless you spend hours on tumblr. Unlike the xmen series (which I love and adore with all my heart)
But I just thought of one and it’s kinda big??? After starting to rewatch the series in order properly (since I have most of the dvds and just got disney+) So iron man is supposed to take place in 2008 right? I mean it came out that year, in homecoming Happys all ‘I been carrying this ring around since 2008’ which is supposedly when tony and pepper got together.
Some people think hulk comes before iron man 2 others think it comes after, personally I think it comes before iron man 2, partly because of the release dates and because of finer details that I’ll come to in a min, either way we know iron man 2 comes around 6 months after the first and Thor starts roughly half way through that film (coulson has to go to New Mexico) and hulk can’t have happened long before that because Erik makes a comment about a scientist who did research on gamma radiation and got his life’s work taken away by shield (hint, hint).
Anyway, erik then starts working for shield (as seen in end credits scene) and as Loki’s there he can’t have been working there long before the attack on New York. Cap has clearly not spent much time out of the ice from what we see in avengers assemble so we can assume that all this superhero biz took place around 2008/2009 including the attack on New York, this would add up with opening scene in Spider-Man homecoming as it says 8 years after the events of avengers the events of homecoming begin, we know that this information adds up because the film only takes place after civil war from 2016.
But see this is the big issue, as we all know in endgame Bruce, cap, Scott and tony go back to the the attack on New York in which it says is 2012, without the information homecoming gives us this is all fine and makes sense right? We can kinda forget how close the earlier films are supposed to be set together and guess it’s a few years apart? Even with those oh so important details? If the events of homecoming really are 8 years after avengers assemble and the attack on New York really did take place in 2012 are we to assume that the avengers have been living in the future far longer than we have realised? But even then that wouldn’t make sense seeing as Peter Parker was born 10 august 2001 and that would make him 18/19 in homecoming which would be 2020 when he specifically says he’s 15.
So it all comes down to when the FUCK AVENGERS ACTUALLY TOOK PLACE CUZ TO BE HONEST WITH YOU IT SEEMS TO MAKE MORE SENSE IN 2008/2009 BUT ENDGAME HAS OTHER FUCKING IDEAS?????? Is it just me??
May I also add how FUCKING DUMB THE AVENGERS ARE? Do you know what would have been sooooo much easier than fucking going back to different years and shit? Going back on the day that infinity war took place, go to whatever shitass planet thanos landed his purple grape nutsak on, where he went to retire and heal before he snapped the stones out of excistance (and I mean like arrive there the same time he would have) do the same old manuver that they pulled at the beginning and have Thor chop off thanos’ head again (pretty pleasurable to watch tbh) grab the gauntlet with all the stones in and hulk can snap all the peeps back no probs, no tony dying, no Nat dying, no struggle with 2014 nebula and thanos, just freaking pip squeaksss easy, might not be as entertaining to watch or have gamora back and Loki in another timeline but GUESS WHAT BITCH THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A HECKIN LOT EASIER THAN THE WAY THEY DID IT AND YOU HAVE A FUCKING TIME MACHINE THAT DOESNT FUCK UP YOUR OWN TIMELINE SO GO STEAL GAMORA AND LOKI FROM THE TIMELINES THEY DIED IN YOU DUMB HOE (I mean I love endgame it a great film and a fantastic emotional rollercoaster but still guys????)

top 5 britney spears songs, top 5 female marvel characters, top 5 movies
i just did 5 britney songs here but since i love my mom i’ll do 5 more i definitely got it in me
don’t go knockin’ on my door GOD IF THIS SONG DOESNT MAKE ME WANNA PUNCH EVERY MAN IN THE FACE and that’s a quality i fuckin love in a song, that’s all i need to say on that
the hook up ANOTHER ONE FROM IN THE ZONE THAT EVERYONE FORGETS ABOUT but it’s so goddamn irresistible, it just jumps from line to line and britney’s voice fits it perfectly, she carries it w exactly the swagger it is due, people give britney shit for her singing voice (which considering she’s naturally an alto and sings in a soprano range most of the time, she really deserves more credit for if you ask me), but it is undeniable she knows how to deliver her lines like an actress, and that’s a damn important quality in a pop diva that gets overlooked in the pop discourse
the beat goes on okay another cover and i named two in the last one, but she does covers really damn well. the way it closes an otherwise quintessentially bubblegum pop album w an avant-garde electropop song is brilliant. it certainly hinted at things to come, pushing borders of contemporary pop music. and it suited baby brit SO well.
perfume i constantly think back on all the missed opportunities of britney jean era, i’m still not over it. it’s been 5 years i really should be but i’m not. but this song really could’ve used better promotion, it’s one of my favorite britney ballads, and one of the few songs in her own discography where she gets to sing in an alto range!!! she sounds GREAT and to her it’s a very personal song and i respect it deeply
coupureélectrique i have nothing to say about this entire album other than that in 2016, y’all were either with us (the loyal gays who supported glory) or against us. this album deserves so much more love like every britney fan cherished it immediately even the fans who were let down by britney jean and afraid to trust again but the rest of the population was just crickets. a shame too she worked w so many talented female songwriters and producers, bc mom understands the importance of uplifting women not just as starlets but behind the scene producing the music being marketed to women. bless. oh and she sings in french which is extremely welcomed.
top 5 female marvel characters:
jennifer walters/she-hulk, i love her so much. she’s so underrated i’m so upset that the mcu has yet to even touch the subject of her, her characterization is so strong and much more interesting than bruce’s if you ask me, she’s hardly the same creature as bruce banner but since she’s a female spin-off character people assume she’s this lame character w poor characterization when ever since john byrne took the action comedy spin on her book w the sensational she-hulk in the 80s, she became marvel’s wisecracking fourth-wall-breaker before deadpool even existed, not to mention she’s unapologetically feminine while wielding masculine powers for which she doesn’t suffer any consequences which is so different not just for female characters in all of fiction but especially in her genre and time of conception. actually. no. lemme use this video to illustrate my thesis bc it does it much more eloquently than i can at this moment blasting britney in my pajamas. but yes, jennifer walters is one of my absolute favorite characters in fiction.
oh i just realized i can do non-superheroes. this is kind of obvious coming from me but *clears throat* mary jane fucking watson. she works as a wonderful complex supporting character and i love how her relationship w peter parker isn’t just rewarded to him but they both go through so much character development alongside each other, but it’s not entirely dependent on each other. she’s such an important piece in just about all good spider-man stories that have come after her inception. i love mj. but i’ve gone off about it many times before.
kamala khan/ms. marvel. a newbie but such a good and relatable and important character, already, especially for someone who didn’t even exist 5 years ago. i love what she means for teenage girls in comics, for muslim/brown representation. i love the cultural references infused into her books, it makes it all feel so much more authentic. i love how human all her supporting characters are. i love g. willow wilson’s sense of humor. but i feel like she’s rightfully acknowledged for being the groundbreaking character she is so i don’t need to write any more on that right now, i don’t think.
jean grey. comics only, i haven’t seen any of the xmen movies, whoops. basically i used to live vicariously through her when i was younger bc she looks like me and telepathy has always been my dream power of all powers, and i love her character history, she’s so complicated for a female character who began as just a simple good girl of the team type of tropey character. i think she’s a prime example of how interesting and convoluted comic book continuity can be and how retcons and arcs seemingly out of nowhere can be done well and how they can add to the characterization of a formerly bland character and benefit the story, how to utilize the underutilized.
dazzler. i don’t think she’s actually one of my favorite female marvel characters but you gotta give major props to a character whose superpowers are literally to be a disco queen. yeah it was very much trend-hopping in the 70s on behalf of the marvel staff but they’ve made it work in some very interesting ways in the year, again i’ll redirect you to a youtube video about her and also this photo
top 5 movies
hmmm i always say the spider-man trilogy (2002-2007), but it’s true and i should say it
i’ve really loved rebel without a cause (1955) since i started my james dean obsession/non-phase when i was in eighth grade. and i really see why a lot about this movie and james dean as a character resonated w me at that age and continues to hit home, i mean, he’s sort of an embodiment of pent up teen angst and feeling misunderstood and out of touch w oneself at the same time, like a walking contradiction. i feel like james dean was one of my first paradoxical role models that i’d continue to build my identity around in my teen years. but i mumble. this really is a great movie w an interesting story to tell, it’s not just coming of age sleeze, it’s really damn well-written, well-acted, and well-directed.
the day gentlemen prefer blondes (1953) fails to make me smile is the day it all ends, man. i’m so attached to that movie, not just because it’s great (though it is), but it’s just one of my comfort movies. i’m always in the mood to watch it. it’s not even the best film marilyn’s in but how can one not love it, you know?
american psycho (2000) is really damn well remembered for a reason. it adapts a difficult and abstract novel with complicated themes and characterization in the best possible way it can, mary herron doesn’t get enough credit for that. bret easton ellis gets his recognition as the author of the book it’s based off of but i don’t think people talk enough about just how well herron pulled it off. the book has chapters spread throughout of just incomprehensible character building in the most skeptical ways, the way patrick always describes what he is wearing in exhausting detail, as well as the wardrobe of every single person around him at all times. the chapters where he just out-of-the-blue gives his reviews of contemporary popular music. his materialism fixation. his unintelligible babbling. patrick bateman’s a character that by all rules of film shouldn’t be able to be adapted to film as well as he is in this movie. i can honestly only think of one or two details from the book i wish weren’t cut, out of such a long and meandering character study of a novel. it’s really, really a gem.
a fool there was (1915) bc theda bara is my original goth gf and she really fucks it up in this film. i love silent horror films so much, especially ones where rich men are corrupted. oh yeah. that’s just a personal niche though. but it is a good film.
ask me for my top 5 anything
#THANK YOU julia im sorry i spent so much time bbabling i had a lot to say though#doitforparamore#dianswered

Pan
I watched Pan a few weeks ago and I’m still annoyed when I think about it. Although the film is gorgeous and imaginative and stars the beautiful Garrett Hedlund who I’m currently in lust with, the movie itself was disappointing.
Much has been made of the whitewashing of Tiger Lilly and no disrespect to the actress who was fantastic in the fight scenes, but yes this really bothered me (this article explains it in much better detail and gives some really good Native American casting choices http://www.btchflcks.com/2016/11/from-racist-stereotype-to-fully-whitewashed-tiger-lily-since-1904-2.html#.W180eWRKgzU). In so many ways it would have been great to have a Native American actress play such a great character - it would have been accurate, empowering and helpful for those actresses who struggle with getting cast anyway, not least when the few roles written for them get whitewashed. Also I would have LOVED to have seen a proper mixed race romance/tease with Garrett’s Hook and it would have eased the White Saviour trope which was heavily in evidence here. Props to them though for making her a proper bad ass and not a damsel in distress.
Hook and Peter’s story arcs. The other major thing was - it’s supposed to be a prequel to Peter Pan right? Aka it’s going to set up the Peter Pan story right? WRONG! Sure there’s a random adventure and Hook and Peter become friends (I love this trope, I was all on board for the frenemies) but (spoilers) they stay friends at the end, Hook isn’t even a proper pirate, he doesn’t lose a hand and there is no set up as to why he becomes a power hungry evil pirate like Blackbeard - all we get are a few heavy nods to the original - grrrr! I honestly thought when I first saw this advertised that Hook (as he is meant to in the original) was in Blackbeard’s crew and then had this cool story in my head that Peter gets captured and made to work on Blackbird’s ship (then you could have battles with the Tribe and the fairies plus budding enemies/lovers angst with Hook/Tiger Lilly) Then Hook has to choose between his good side and budding friendship with Peter and the bad values and cruelty Blackbeard has taught him. He saves Peter but they have opposing views about life and he gets frustrated with Peter’s desire to never grow up. Maybe they were both abandoned/lost and Hook wants to go back and Peter doesn’t or Hook wants to take responsibility/sees the darker side of life and Peter just wants to see the joy and live in the dream - the perfect pull between opposing forces. They defeat Blackbeard but at the cost of their friendship and end with the epic fight and Peter cutting off Hook’s hand as described in the book.Okay that’s not kid friendly but I thought this was a more ‘edgy’ reboot anyway and accurate to the original.
Blackbeard - Hugh Jackman has been my dreamboat crush since Xmen came out in 2000. Here is the first time he genuinely creeped me out. He was an interesting villain but there was a undertone of child molester in his portrayal...nothing definite but ...wrong...just wrong...
Garett I do love you and you’re a great actor but why WHY did you and the director think that accent was a good idea, you’re Hook not Indiana Jones?!
Peter Pan is awesome enough, we didn’t need the Chosen One prophecy, he’s not Harry Potter!
Anyway it is a beautiful film with lots of high adventure though and some good performances so if you are looking for some fantasy fun with a very cute Captain Hook (yeah weird I know) it’s worth a look.
