[ starseungs wips ]
"He has to be there somewhere!"
"You do know that what we're doing is beyond creepy right now," Jeongin scrunched his nose in distaste, watching you press your forehead on the black-tinted glass door. "Come on, Y/N! We don't even know him!"
Squinting your eyes to see better past the dark view, you merely scoffed at Jeongin's words, opting to let them enter one ear and out the other.
"But I do!"
His disapproving gaze was burning into the back of your head, but you were too busy to care—you were a person on a mission, and you swear nothing is going to stop you from achieving one of your biggest goals in life. Sure, you had your lazy streaks, but you were absolutely determined that today will not be one of them.
Jeongin groaned in despair and embarrassment at the sight of you sliding down oh-so-dramatically after realizing that the translucent door was relentless in keeping you and the man you were trying to meet.
"I've been your friend since literal diapers, so tell me when did that even happen?"
Oh—well, you can't possibly tell him that.
How were you going to tell him that his actual friend isn't here right now? That some random person was currently residing inside the body of the Y/N he originally knew?
And that person was you?
— unedited.

chocolate milk, gouache, darling and cursed pianist for the writing asks bubs <3
## ask game !
chocolate milk — most sentimental thing you've written?
overall, the most sentimental thing ive written isnt released here because its not really a fic (its still a story tho, its mainly about a character going through self reflection) // out of my current available masterlist here tho its probably "words i want to say - hwang hyunjin" because i wrote that to contain pure emotion,, its something i still get kinda emotional over whenever i read it
gouache — what role does aesthetic play in your work?
a lot 😭 im the type of person who basically wants to write a /film/ but in word form, so i like to pay attention to how things are said and how the scenes form in the reader's mind (i personally think that my descriptions for setting/scenery could be improved tho;;)
darling — introduce us to two of your characters?
characters from "written on paper - lee minho" | meet minho, the son of the evil queen, destined to become one of the most antagonistic people aliveexcept he unapologetically has no plans on doing so. on the other hand, we have y/n: the daughter of snow white, securing her comfortable life as a protagonist and royalty—yet, she shows hesitation in living her happily ever after. join the two on their journey to unwrap generations of secrets surrounding their so-called "destiny."
cursed pianist — one writing habit you'd like to quit?
i dont have much habits that annoy me when im actually writing, but its when im not writing that gets frustrating 💀 i tend to delay a lot to write scenes i think of, and just write down like a note of how its gonna go but by the time i actually do write it some time later, i forgot all the descriptions i was thinking of before,,

you just seem like you would give the best hugs in the world, like you would engulf the other person in bear hugs and let you comfort them (or the other way around depending on how you're feeling) you also seem like you would be a giant movie buff. from how your ideas expand and all the little plot details you integrate into your stories you seem like you watch a lot of movies and kNOW how to world build correctly
## ask game !
this took too long to be responded to but better late than never- i do really like hugs 😞💗 they make me feel so comforted and in turn i do tend to like to give hugs but it depends if the person likes it or not
tbh i dont watch movies/series often because my attention span? shit. but i am a fan of some big universe/story franchises! maybe that contributed to the way i like to do my world building 😆 you see when i invest time into a franchise, i like to know everything i can about it and practically hyperfixate- i just like it when the story/world feels like you were given everything you need to know^^ it feels satisfying and more like you can invest in it

HE IS A MAN WITH A PLAN THAT LOVES HIS S/O 🥰🥰 i didnt write the actual kiss but they really did do it in from of jeongin and he was grumbling the whole ride back home 💀
➳ 7:08pm. hjs
pairing: han jisung x gn!reader (ft. yang jeongin)
Riding the theme park's ferris wheel during the display was such a good idea to end the day. Looks like Jisung thinks so too.
genre/s: fluff, humor, boyfriend!jisung
warning/s: fireworks, ferris wheel rides, thirdwheeling (im sorry lmao)
wc: 0.7k
note: please accept this peace offering while my wips are still getting finished;; there's no angst on this one i swear
"Woah, they went all out on the fireworks display, huh?"
The dynamic show looked so much better from up in the air. Images of budding-like flowers painted the sky with loud bangs, before dissipating into the dimming canvas. Riding the theme park's ferris wheel during the display was such a good idea to end the day.
"The view is so nice..." You commented, amazed at the various pops of color littering the atmosphere.
"You're my best view."
Snapping your head towards the source of the voice, you found Jisung staring at you with a soft smile on his face—looking like a lovesick fool. But while the sudden compliment was flattering, it caught you off guard.
Just not in the way one would have thought.
"Is that the meme?" Your face contorted into silent confusion.
Jisung groaned in defeat, sliding down dramatically to slump on the seat. "Damn. I was hoping you wouldn't notice."
"Dude."
"Bro."
"What the heck?" Jeongin speaks up from in front of the two of you—a mix of disgust and disbelief pasted on his face. "How are you guys even dating?"
"Oh yeah? And why are you even here?" Jisung retorted, crossing his arms with a frown. You lightly slapped his shoulder at his childish actions—earning a whine from your now sulking boyfriend.
"Excuse me? You two invited me here!"
"Right," you admitted, cringing. He had a point, you and Jisung did invite him on your date. "But obviously not in the same carriage…"
"So what am I going to do in a carriage alone, huh?" Jeongin pointed out, rolling his eyes at the both of you. Muttering to himself, he added, "This is ridiculous. I can't believe I signed up to be a thirdwheel."
"You could have said no, you know." You reminded him.
"Ugh. It's because I forgot you and Jisung were a couple now."
Jisung let out a strangled sound of offense at Jeongin's comment. "Do we not look like one?"
"For someone who just called their significant other 'bro', you're one to talk," The other guy scoffed, completely done with Jisung's antics.
This clearly didn't sit right with Jisung though, because if you knew one thing about him, it was that he was the type of person to take these things to heart—even if he knew he didn't have to.
Jisung's pride also shot through the roof at times. A trait you found attractive because of his confidence, but also annoying because he could be such a jerk during these episodes.
Eyeing him wearily, you noticed his nose scrunched up in distaste. He always did that whenever something was bothering him. But the kicker was not that. It was his obvious eyes—sparkling with brewing mischief.
That's how you immediately knew he was up to something.
"I don't know Jeongin," Jisung started, a bit too nonchalantly for your preference. "Personally, I think we look great together."
Jeongin grumbled at Jisung's words, taking it as the older bragging about having a romantic relationship. "It's not that you don't look good together. God knows how long we were waiting for the both of you to get together—Felix was literally about to try and mix some kind of love potion he found online into his brownies and force feed them to you."
Seeing that Jeongin was falling into your boyfriend's trap so easily, you sighed inwardly. There was no stopping now, so you just decided to let them be. They could fight as much as they wanted, for all you care.
"Then what's the issue?" Jisung pressed further, looking genuinely curious. He was executing his plan well with great acting—you had to give him that. Without noticing, you find yourself unconsciously smiling at his little plan.
"It's more so that you two don't act like one?"
And this was all Jisung wanted to hear, because the look on his face lit up a bit brighter. You had an idea of what he was planning to do, but with Jisung being Jisung, anything could happen.
There were small movements coming from Jisung's side of the seat, but before you could process what was going on, he had already seized your hands and quickly positioned them to wrap around his neck.
"Well, I hope this is enough proof."
As Jisung's face moved closer, Jeongin's cries of complaint started to fade into the background. Sure, you might be traumatizing the guy, but you could care less at that moment.
Because Jisung's eyes were exploding with so much love and adoration, overwhelming you with feelings that completely outshone the fireworks display outside.

➳ remember the mornings. hjs
pairing: han jisung x gn!reader
You don't exactly remember when the warm, comforting nights full of love you used to share with Jisung became such cold, empty hours of darkness. All you knew was that somewhere along the way, it just did.
genre/s: angst, boyfriend!jisung
warning/s: verbal fights, break ups, mentions of drinking, invalidating feelings, being unable to sleep, just pain
wc: 2.2k
note: this fic is inspired by clinton kane's song "remember the mornings" i just had to make an angst for it *evil laughs*
Rain wasn't something you used to pay close attention to, the phenomenon only seeming normal and mundane in your everyday life—yet, the sight of its continuous waves crashing on to the surface of your car's windows made a deeply buried ache inside of you awake once again.
A feeling you did not appreciate in the midst of being under the pitch blacked sky carefully splattered with dozens of twinkling stars.
Normally, the view of such an interesting portrait would be appealing to you, especially from the safety your car provides, shielding you from the depressing dampness of the rainwater. But at that particular moment, you just could not care for the sight of a rainy, starry night.
It was another night where you would be losing sleep to the worries that plagued your mind; hence, you impulsively got out of your apartment—simply wishing for a quick drive to try and get your mind off everything weighing you down.
And even with such desperate measures, you find yourself regretting ever attempting to flee the confines of your home.
"Damn it," you cursed through gritted teeth, trying to stop the tears from escaping your burning eyes fueled with frustration. "Everything reminds me of him."
Him.
The one and only Han Jisung—someone who, once upon a time, you referred to as your forever.
Oh, how much of a joke that was. The sentiment was easily shown just by seeing your present state.
You don't exactly remember when the warm, comforting nights full of love you used to share with Jisung became such cold, empty hours of darkness—the stinging reminder of regret clawing at your mind until the early hours of the day. All you knew was that somewhere along the way, it just did.
In the same way, you learned to hate the night, the rain, and everything else that you once used to associate with him.
Was it fair to do it? Perhaps not, but the pain you acquired from indulging in a relationship with Jisung was enough to make your rationality waver, slowly getting blinded by the torment.
You were blind enough to still feel wronged. Blind enough to resent everything that had to do with his image. Blind enough to remember. Blind enough to still affect you. Blind enough to make you feel as if you were gradually losing your sanity—
Blind enough to still love him.
The thought enraged you beyond belief. How could you betray yourself like this? Jisung had no right over the way you lived your life, so why were you unconsciously letting the mere thought of him do?
You couldn't help but punch the steering wheel at the bitter truth, releasing the sound of your car's horn throughout the void area. "This is ridiculous," you muttered, examining the location you had stopped in at.
How you wanted to go back home.
Whether the definition of that home is your eerily silent apartment, or Jisung's arms—you could not give a single damn. All you wanted was to be back in a home where you belonged, where everything was safe and sound.
And maybe that's why you ended up where you were.
It was a familiar setting, one you knew all too well. You watched as the tall trees softly swayed in the rain's wind, effectively letting the droplets they had collected on their many pairs of leaves fall down to the already wet soil. In the middle of nature's performance was a fairly wide clearing, beautifully framing the skyline view of the city in its resting hours.
The spot was sentimental to you—albeit regrettably due to the many memories you had made with Jisung there.
But you could never bring yourself to hate the place, even if you had already managed to do just that to practically every single thing you used to connect to Jisung's love.
Especially this damned car.
This car saw it start and witnessed the end. It was in this very space where you and Jisung shared your confessions, where the first admittance of strong affection occurred, and where your two hearts combined.
Ironically, like some sick joke, it was also this very car that heard all the problems you both had, all the arguments, and the slam of the passenger's door when it all came down to an end.
It was for that same reason that you had wanted to get rid of it, hoped to send it away—as if the hurt and feelings you still held towards your heart's previous handler would disappear along with the wretched vehicle.
So why can't you do it?
Why were you still here, in a place you used to share with Jisung, in the car that saw you both through it all?
"I don't know," you whimpered silently to yourself, finally allowing the tears to freely cascade down your face, like seeps of color making their way to stain a fresh canvas. "I really don't know..."
You couldn't take it anymore. The suffocating ache of lying to yourself just wasn't worth it anymore.
"I miss you, Jisung."
How you desperately wanted him to hear your cry. That maybe in doing so, he'd come back, and you'd be home again.
Your break up was admittedly avoidable. And it greatly shames you to think that you lost something that could've been saved in the blink of an eye.
Would it have made a difference if the two of you just decided to give it another chance? If only the two of you had decided to use more patience, would it not have ended in hatred-filled glances?
These were questions you desperately craved answers to, and it took your all to not ring him up at every possible moment.
It was utterly embarrassing that you still awaited a call from him even now, a few weeks after your breakup. You were so humiliated that you expected every single notification you would receive to be from him.
Again, you ask yourself if it was worth it for you to start the communication—but your pride had swelled up way past the maximum for you to do so. Such a foolish concept, yet one that you find yourself tightly bound by.
Finally feeling the parade of your salty tears come to a stop, you felt the need to look at yourself through the rearview mirror.
You never knew the sight of your own eyes could inflict such a piercing stab at your heart. A sensation you felt just because the sight that greeted you wasn't the same deep brown you adored so much on Jisung.
That reminder alone tore you into shreds.
It wasn't hard to remember that, like any other relationship, there was a time between you and him where your story was going smoothly.
And it all started at a college party.
You recalled the way Changbin begged you to attend the gathering, saying all sorts of things just to get you to show up.
"C'mon! It'll be fun!" He whined while laying down on your dorm bed, "Me and my friends are going to DJ, so can you just support me through maybe 3 songs?"
The roll of your eyes was missed by Changbin's tantrum, one that severely reminded you of a child you once babysat for your neighbor. But he had a point—it was going to be their group's first time getting a DJ gig, so why not?
"Fine, I'll go."
At your acceptance, he jumped out of bed right away, tackling you in a massive hug. "Thank you!" He cried in an exaggerated manner.
If you never attended, then maybe you wouldn't have ever met Jisung. He was part of the trio Changbin was in, and proved to be a skilled asset to the group. It was pretty obvious by his performance that night that he was confident about what he was good at.
A trait that you found extremely attractive.
So, with the newly found courage you had, courtesy of some drinks you had consumed earlier, you headed towards him once he stepped off the make-shift stage.
"Hi," you attempted to flirt, "You were really cool up there."
Jisung gets visibly flustered by the sudden compliment and shifts awkwardly. "Oh—uh, thanks?"
Sure, you were drunk—but not that drunk to completely ignore the guy's discomfort. You still had proper manners, after all.
"Am I making you uncomfortable? I'm sorry if I did," you apologized quickly, sobering up at the situation. "Changbin actually invited me tonight to watch you guys, so I wanted to give compliments."
Not a lie, but not the entire truth either. Your friend was literally up on the stage just before Jisung did, and you definitely did not make any attempt to congratulate the man.
"It's fine, don't worry," Jisung cleared his throat. "You're really good-looking, so I got caught off guard… Do you want to get some drinks?"
You raised an eyebrow at his comment, watching as the tips of his ears turned red under your judging stare. After confirming that he meant no harm, you smiled.
"Sure."
Things progressed naturally from there, with the two of you spending far more time together than you did with your other friends—something Changbin took the liberty to make fun of.
You couldn't blame him though, because in the span of another few months, you and Jisung finally got together to make it official.
The relationship lasted for 3 years—one that your now joined friend group rejoiced about. Wedding roles were already being called dibs on, even the title of godparents if you ever decided to raise children.
If only they knew that it was all going to go down the drain halfway through your third year of being together, coming in the form of a petty argument.
"What I'm just saying is that I want to spend more time with you, Jisung… It feels like I've barely seen you these days," you argued from your place in the driver's seat.
Jisung scoffed. "I already said I had a lot of deadlines for songs lined up, okay? I'll give you attention once it's over."
"I don't even want constant attention; I just want to hear from you," you said as you gripped the steering wheel. "But the only way I could have any updates at all is if I bothered you to send one. It's literally just one update every two or so days, you're not even trying!"
"So what if I'm not? Does that really matter?"
You audibly gasped, taken aback by his harsh words. "Of course it does! We're in a relationship, we're supposed to care!"
"Then screw this," he said, removing the seat belt holding him down. "If you can't even respect my job, then what's the point of being together?"
"Jisung what—that's not even what I meant!"
"Let's talk some other time, Y/N," were his last words to you before slamming the car door shut.
You gaped as you watched his form walk away through the rearview mirror, not once looking back. What was once a relationship full of love turned sour in a matter of days, allowing no mercy for you to catch up.
Had he just progressed forward too much out of your reach without you noticing? Were you left behind in time for him to end it with you so quickly?
Everything was just fine a month ago, the two of you still adoring each other's presence in the kitchen where you both cooked meals. The passion was still there in the nights where he held you close, your ears hearing the soothing melody of his heartbeat.
Well, clearly that was gone now—along with the rain you had just cursed earlier.
The sky had finally cleared, albeit a lot brighter than you had imagined. Checking the time on your phone, it read six-ten—but your surroundings were still relatively dark, the only source of light being the loud brightness of your phone screen.
Directing your eyes back to the cityscape, you noticed the sun silently peeking up from the horizon.
It must be sunrise now.
You remembered another reason you and Jisung loved this place—it was the perfect site to watch the sun announce its arrival. These were the few mornings you actually enjoyed. Flashbacks of memories come back to mind, making you smile softly.
It was such a short-lived reaction, though, because it dissolved the moment you saw another car pulling up in the same clearing. One that was awfully familiar.
At the sight of its dark-colored exterior, your eyes widened in surprise—quickly followed by a messy attempt to remove the seat belt strap from you with your shaking hands just to get out of the car.
And it seems that the driver saw you as well, because he was out of the car in seconds, as if greeting you could not wait any longer.
"Y/N?"
The two of you stared at each other with such intense emotions, both frozen in your tracks. It was clear that the two of you had not expected to see each other at the place, although you really should have considered the possibility.
"... What are you doing here?" Jisung's soft voice echoed through the clearing of the area, the rising sun being witness to your sudden meeting. Your breath hitched at the sound, bringing you down to reality with a crash.
He's here.
Just like how you remember the mornings.

note: this is a short bonus for my bang chan fic "when you fall", but can stand alone too, so you don't exactly have to read that one before this (it's appreciated if you do tho) <3
You sat there, staring at the starry sky without a word. It was a chilly night, the air lightly frosting over your warm body—but you honestly felt too numb to even care. You found the cold atmosphere comforting, almost as if it was meant to sympathize with you.
When you answered your boyfriend's (well, now ex-boyfriend) call, you certainly didn't expect it to end like this. Even going outside to your room’s balcony, just so you wouldn't disturb any of your family members sleeping inside. Well, that turned out to be a great idea, because then they wouldn't have to hear your small sniffles from the aftermath.
Pulling your legs up to your chest, you buried your head in your knees. The phone was still open on his contact, mocking you silently as a reminder of the events that had just unfolded. Maybe that dark night was the only one by your side at the moment.
Or not.
"... Y/N?"
You heard someone softly call out from a short distance. Lifting your head, a silhouette of a guy with dark hair came into your vision—his form standing on the balcony right across yours. Once your eyes managed to clear up and focus on his face, you quickly noticed his eyes were looking at you with swirling worry and a tinge of confusion.
"Oh. Hi, Seungmin," you greeted blandly, not having enough energy for human interactions at the moment. "I'm sorry. Did you wake up because of me?" The question was just out of politeness. There was enough distance between both of your houses for your muffled cries to not be heard. Not much, but enough.
Seungmin shakes his head. "No, not really. I wanted to get water from the kitchen earlier, but now I can’t go back to sleep," he stated passively, diverting his eyes to look at the empty street in front of both of your family homes.
You appreciated the small act. He may come off as dismissive, and even bored—but judging from the fact that he even came to check on you, was enough proof to tell you he actually cared.
"Then I saw you from inside. I don’t want to make such a big deal out of this if you’re not up for it, but I just really wanted to ask—are you crying?" He continues.
At the silent nod of your head, he slowly hums. "So... What’s up?" Seungmin asks as you watch him crouch down to sit on his balcony floor, joining your improptu pity party.
You chuckled hoarsely. "My boyfriend just broke up with me."
"Sucks, doesn’t it?"
"Yeah," you reply. He sighed lightly, seeing your heartbroken expression. There was a warm silence that came after—courtesy of Seungmin choosing not to rush you. You weren’t saying it out loud, but he made you feel a lot better with the comfortable atmosphere he unconsciously provided.
"... Do you mind sharing?" He asks, not-so-subtly trying to get a glance at your reaction in case you weren’t up for the suggestion. His antics made you crack a small smile.
"Sure," you said, tucking some stray hairs behind your ear, "It's simple, really. He just fell out of love."
"Oh, I see," he comments, finally making eye contact with you. "How are you feeling then?"
You pondered for a moment before giving an honest reply. "Honestly? Not as bad as I thought... He was pretty transparent and respectful about it too. I had to thank him for that. It was a relatively smooth break up," you gave a short chuckle, "We're on good terms. Agreed to stay as friends."
It was quiet for another while after that before Seungmin started to stand up from his squatting position. You could only watch as he dusted the back of his comfortable basketball shorts.
Once satisfied, he decides to break the silence. "That's good. Now, enough sulking for you," he huffed while opening his balcony door, giving you a view of his dark room. "There’s more fish in the sea, you know?"
You blinked at the statement, your eyes refusing to break away from him and instead following his retreating figure.
"There will be another one, I promise you. Someone better for you," he says. Suddenly, Seungmin stops and starts nervously fumbling with his sliding door’s lock. "Maybe they’re just close around?"
Catching the implication of his words, you shook your head while smiling.
"Yeah, I’ll look forward to that."

When you fall in love, they say it’s the sweetest taste you will ever experience in your life. That love was the most beautiful symphony anyone could ever hear. Something that you will dearly miss once it’s gone. A feeling that will constantly follow you until you desperately crave it again.
And from your experience, they weren’t entirely wrong.
When you fell in love, it did feel like the heavens had blessed you as their favorite child. The sensation was so strong, you were left wondering how such a powerful thing could exist. Its influence invaded your mind like poison, and you soon shocked yourself at how you started to look forward to such simple and mundane things in life that you never put too much focus on before.
Moments like when you realize that the heat of the sun that kisses your skin doesn’t burn as much as you used to think it did. Or when you found yourself feeling energized enough to wake up in the morning for the first time since leaving your childhood days behind. All of which were results from dating your current boyfriend.
And for that, you believed that being with Chan was a gift.
He was endearing and attentive, constantly caring for you whenever he could. Your relationship was viewed by other people at your shared university as one of the best. The couple that everyone loved and rooted for. And you agreed with them.
Chan was everything you ever wanted in a partner, the man of your dreams. He made you feel the way you were told love felt, and so you knew you did love him. After all, falling in love with him was something he made too easy—so you decide to let yourself completely dive in.
But when you fall in love, there are also things they don’t tell you.
They never seem to say that it’s the best of both worlds. That in happiness, there will be pain. It was then that you discovered love was also a sacrifice—not only a blessing you could just get without giving back. It was a journey you had to take on your own, and yet even with that discovery, you still managed to find out about one more thing:
Falling in love isn’t the only way to fall.
"It's not your fault. I’m so sorry Y/N... I hope you understand," were the words that echoed throughout your room, shattering your glassy heart that you had left under his once tender care.
Yet, there was nothing you could do.
It was normal to go through breakups at your age. Sometimes you love too hard and then fall out. You couldn’t blame Chan for being honest with his feelings—however, you never saw this event coming any time soon in your relationship.
The two of you were fine yesterday, so what changed so suddenly?
Through shaky breaths, you managed to force out a response, "Thank you for telling me Chan... I—I, uh, appreciate it." You knew he could hear your muffled truth even through the phone, but he chose not to comment on it.
"I didn't want to hurt you if I kept going with it. It's better this way," Chan explains apologetically through the other line.
"Yeah..."
In a desperate attempt to keep yourself grounded in reality, you squeezed your eyes shut and gripped the metal railing of your balcony. Breaking up over a phone call was not how you expected things to end between you and Chan, but fate seems to have other plans.
There were rustling noises from his side, indicating that Chan was probably on his bed. "Well... do you want to talk more about it?" He asks out of consideration for you.
Unfortunately for him, you wanted to be out of this conversation as soon as possible. The pieces of broken shards you once called your heart were starting to crumble quickly into dust. You didn’t know how much longer you could hold on until you started breaking down, showcasing your sorrows to the man who broke your heart completely for free. "Not really... I get it, Chan. Don't worry."
Lies. You wanted to scream out the agonizing pressure that was trapped inside you, but the silent ambience of the night kept it sealed.
"There will be another one, I promise. Someone better for you," he tries to converse—but at that point, you were no longer feeling control over your voice.
"Sure."
He sighs. "You okay? No hard feelings, right? We could stay as friends."
Friends? In theory, it could still work—and maybe it will. But for the current moment, you want nothing to do with him. Still, though, you figured you could at least end it with the same decency he’s trying to portray. It was better to have a friend than another enemy.
"Yeah, I'd like that, Chan." There was a short silence that came after that.
For a split second, you felt utterly alone. It was then that you finally realized how empty the streets surrounding your house were; the only remnants of human occupation being some of your neighbors’ room lights that were still open. And even then, you still felt lonely. You were surprised the sky didn’t decide to rain out of nowhere and hide your tears like it did in dramas.
More faint noises came out of the speakers of your phone before Chan spoke once again. ".... Should we call it a night?" He suggests, snapping you out of your spiraling mind.
Is this goodbye? For now? What would happen next? You two still went to the same university, and you would be seeing each other around campus once your short break was done. But you guess this really is the end for the two of you now, so you better make the most out of it.
"Chan," you call out hesitantly, nervous about the favor you want to ask. Perhaps the sudden news was still not quite sinking in with you yet, and that’s why you were desperately trying to cling on to any more chances you had to be his.
"... Yeah?"
You took a big breath for support. "Can—can I say it? Just one last time?"
Chan paused, and you could hear him take a sharp intake of breath, seemingly taken aback by your request. He takes his time to think about it, which worries you that you may have overstepped a boundary. But, to your surprise, he responded back shortly. "... Sure."
This is it—your final chance.
"Chan... I love you," you say for the very last time. Chan chuckles softly from the other side, acknowledging your feelings.
"Thank you, Y/N. Sleep tight."
The line cuts off a few seconds after he utters his last words to you. Looking up at the starry sky, you finally let the tears fall without stopping, silently sobbing until the pain fades to a stinging ache.
When you fall in love, there are things they never tell you until you experience it yourself. These are lessons that you have to learn on your own and help grow your sprouts into beautiful budding flowers. You knew you had so much more to learn, but at least, now you knew that one of the things they never tell you is that there are two ways to fall.
Because if you could fall in love, then you could also fall out of love.
