Decided to treat myself to one of those n64 controllers for switch for the few times I feel like playing some n64 games on my switch.

Just doesn't feel right to play n64 games with my switch pro controller because my hands don't hate me enough xD

I think there is a point of contention here, tho, with half-race people essentially having the same issues as interspecies hybrids in our world. A mule can't have kids because their genetics don't align properly, and it's inferred that is the same for half-race humans. This would imply that the races are actually different species, rather than all actually being human. Kui has been really good about ecology thus far, so it would be really weird to me if this detail was overlooked rather than being fudged on purpose. Then again, genetics could work differently in this world. Who knows. Maybe humans really did use to be the same race, and the changes from the demon have proven too strong for mere genetics overcome.

(Edit- OP has corrected and reminded me that there ARE fertile mixed-race humans in DM. Tallmen can have fertile kids with half-foots and ogres, and dwarves and gnomes have fertile mixed-race kids. Elves seem to be the only race that doesn't have fertile mixed-race offspring)

Something that completely flew over my head (I am not very observant), I was rereading chapter 87: Winged Lion II to re-check some things about dungeons and I just now realized the ancient humans weren't from the current races we know.

They seem to have characteristics from several of the human races together, and some of them even seem to have fur (like demi-humans?)

It's even implied that the lifespan differences and physical differences (the two asking for muscles and using magic in the background) were due to the Demon granting wishes

I did notice this part but I didn't realize this was probably part of the source of the race differences rather than the races already being different and wishing for different things.

So at some point the human races might have been even more closely related, before a powerful being influenced their evolution.

Every time I start feeling a little guilty for no reason about staying up writing until 3am, or sleeping in past 10, I think about that Hunter S. Thompson daily routine that’s like. 3pm: Wake up. 4pm cocaine. 4:30pm cocaine. 5pm cocaine. 6pm smoke a little weed. 7pm Loiter. 9pm start doing coke seriously 12am midnight: Start writing. Just for a little perspective like, I could be doing worse. I could be doing in fact so much worse.
