#deadass prefer the pearl-clutchers over 'I am giving you concrit in the form of my objective tastes needing to be catered to'

I came to the startling realization that I may actually find the fake concrit giving people more obnoxious than the moral police.
The people who leave comments that something they personally don't like shouldn't exist because it's "morally wrong" at least still come at it from the me-centric angle. They are upfront about the fact that they don't want this to exist because they don't want to see it and thus they shouldn't have to see it.
People who give fake-ass concrit feedback present their own personal preferences in a you-centric angle that just so fundamentally pisses me off. They're not honest about how they don't like this and they don't want this, they present it as a you-issue. You, the writer, can GROW because they bestow this great and Oh So Objective advise to you on how you can ""improve"" your writing if you just... don't write this thing they personally don't like.
I genuinely do think I prefer being told I'm a degenerate for the morally fucked up thing I write and how the person thinks that shouldn't exist because it grosses them out, over the alternative of being presented that the trope/plot device/story element that I used is actually a failing of me, as a writer, and that it would improve the quality of my writing if I didn't do x.
In both cases, the thing that's being complained about is a wholly objective story element that the complaining party just personally doesn't like. But at least one party is honest about wanting it gone because they personally think it's wrong, while the other party is trying to make me believe that I, as a writer, would grow if I didn't write Thing They Didn't Like.
I mean, don't get me wrong: DON'T DO EITHER OF THOSE? If you don't like a story, don't read it, or at the very fucking least close the tab without complaining to the author of the story you got to read for free on the internet. People who spent hours of their time writing free entertainment for you to enjoy absolutely do not need to hear why you didn't like it when nobody held a gun to your head to force you to read it!
