Look at this traumatized boy.

This was really just me doodling as I brainstormed. I don't know how much I'm gonna keep and I'd love some feedback.

Anyway, I'll explain my thought process under the cut.

Initial idea. I wanted Shadow to be much more emotional than he normally is. I also thought, hey, what if Starline could use Shadow’s trauma against him? Maybe that's the reason Starline brings him in for 'treatment'? For clothes, I dunno, I liked the idea of a sweater vest. Also, I wanted his quills to droop and make him look more sad.

So then I thought, Niko's big repeated phrase is "everything is fine," so what if Shadow said "I'M fine"?! Just like, he's still avoiding his emotions and trauma, but in a completely different way. Instead of hiding behind not caring, he's hiding behind a smile. I also decided to have super small be the default look for his eyes, as a visual indicator that this boy is Not Okay. Also kinda wanted to just channel my inner creepy for once and do whatever.

A breakdown. I think this Shadow cries massively when he can't hold back his emotions anymore.

Yeah just a quick doodle. He straining to keep that smile.

I had this idea that Starline programs in frequent fake flashbacks which results in this. Kinda reinforcing Shadow’s need to stay with Starline. He's the only one who can make this stop. Also, I think maybe Shadow’s real memories might try to come back during these bits, which puts him in even more pain.

Wanted to draw the droopy quills again. XD

Doodle. Shadow can't always hold everything in and this is him about to snap.

Miscellaneous:

- I think Starline is probably gonna need to get rid of Shadow’s stripes in order to keep up the illusion.

- Repurpose that Ultimate Lifeform super intellect. Shadow’s like the nerdy kid who sits in the corner of the library not talking to anyone all day now.

- Name ideas? I though of Daniel. I dunno, thoughts?

- I got this far and realized I didn't have a way to tie this in to the NAME OF THE AU. Ideas appreciated.

- I was thinking maybe Shadow’s fake backstory and the fake reason for his trauma is he lost his family in the war. (And then maybe saw Shadow as someone who's strong and perfect to get revenge on Eggman and so then started having 'delusions' of being him so he could avenge his family.)

Anyway, yeah, feedback is much appreciated! We'll see how much of this I keep and how much I change.

Director's Cut - scene or line from your work that made you just like...in awe of your skill, where like you thought what you did deserved a big pat on the back

That one goes to Chapter 13 of Soundbite. There's a lot of really good moments, it's the final battle! Lucille, Scott, and Hope fighting together and then her showdown with Daniel was good, I think action is what I'm best at writing. I have two favorites though, both were pretty major twists and memorable moments.

Might be a long post, I get pretty into it when I'm talking about my creative process and background stuff, this ask game is one of my favorites.

She could hear Scott and Hope trying to get into the suite to no avail. He could grow to giant size, but it would draw too much attention and potentially destroy the entire place while they were inside. Even if he chose to transform, Bruce wouldn’t be able to make it to her in time. Just as she felt the sting of thinking about the last person she cared about, a glass cage came down and trapped her inside, Lucille became stuck in her feelings and was too panicked to react and move out of the way. She looked around, thinking this was one of his final tricks until the air stayed the same, thin as if she were at a high altitude, but still breathable. She started to take slow breaths, but wondered what could have caused this until her earpiece came back on. “Are you in the glass?” Kurt asked her through the comms, sounding both worried and relieved at the same time. “Please, did it work?”

Kurt saves Lucille! He's usually just the "guy in the chair" and away from all the action, but I wanted him to have a cool moment where he uses his skills to save the day. It really just cements how much they care about each other.

I think it's a little hard for Kurt to be able to actually help out with Lucille and relate to her struggles since he isn't a superhero, just a normal guy with a computer, but he still can make a huge difference and he is a vital part of the mission and her life.

“They’ll remember me through you.”

These are Daniel's last words, gloating to Lucille that even though he's about to die, he's going to win in the end. Because of him, she is who she is today and if it weren't for the terrible things he did, Lucille wouldn't have met everyone. If she becomes a famous hero, he's woven into her origin story and it's almost impossible to separate him from it. It's kind of a bittersweet victory that way.

Scott and Hope flew inside and grew back to normal size, hoping to see if Lucille was okay. Both of them came closer to her, concerned, but she rushed to Daniel’s side to assess his condition. They followed and their eyes widened at the sight, Daniel was almost unconscious, his heartbeat and breathing slow and quiet. His body was pale and frozen, and his eyes struggled to stay open as they looked over at the two Avengers. The corners of his mouth twitched up. “No, no,” Lucille sighed, lifting him up a little, ready to jump out and carry him away. “You can’t die, you can’t just leave this behind.” She stopped as Daniel took a loud, sharp breath and the sound of his heart turned to silence. Her body tensed up for a moment, then Lucille frantically checked his vitals for any sign of life, but when it became clear that he was dead, she set his body back down on the floor. She froze, still kneeling as her vision blurred and all the noise she was hearing started to fade. Scott had to pull her from the floor and into his arms as Hope went to purge the research files and any record of his progress with the Pym Particles.

I think they could have found a way into the room, but it made the most thematic sense for Lucille to be alone with him. She's had enough help up to this point, this was her time to shine.

Lucille feels like she lost because he's not alive to pay for what he's done. It's not the happiest ending, and she's in a lot of pain and denial for what just happened. Scott knows that letting her stay in her feelings isn't good for her, he might have felt the same way after Natasha and Tony's deaths. Hope is a little bit more focused and since it's her family's work in danger, is the one to finish the job.

Exactly two people asked, but two people did ask! So here are my Villain Coded Kids.

These six characters are a small fraction of the marvel fan fiction that I dreamed up when I was 12 years old. I daydreamed about them constantly, and they carved a little hole into my brain so I could never stop thinking about them. It’s been over five years. These guys are often stereotypical, several names come from fantasynamegenerator.com, and they were invented alongside a self-insert mary sue who I cannot leave behind. That being said, I love them dearly. Who wants to meet them? If you don’t want to, simply do not read this post. This is entirely voluntary.

THE VILLAIN CODED KIDS!

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is a shield base in the middle of Manhattan. It’s where Captain America wakes up from his 70 years in the ice. But I don’t think it’s ever seen again. In my mind, it holds offices and training rooms, but in 2018, it is also home to six villain coded teenagers.

You are going to meet these kids as they were on some afternoon in the fall of 2018. They’ve been a team for about a month. It has been six months since Iron Man and Black Widow died in the events of Avengers Endgame. Six months since half of the population was killed and then revived, six months that the other half of the population has spent slowly forgetting five years of memories from the lost time known in canon as The Blip. The Sokovia Accords are exactly as unmerciful as they are in canon. Any unauthorized superpowered activity can be punished by arrest without trial or parole, and the only difference between a friendly neighbor hero and a prisoner is whether or not the local police like them. The police did not like these six kids!

Imagine a common room like what you’d find in any college dorm. There’s a couch, some chairs, and a television. Six kids are gathered doing whatever. The oldest are 16 and in 11th grade and the youngest is 13 and in 8th grade.

The too tall boy drawing Voltron fanart on his IPad is Zachary Jesper. He is a vessel for the reality stone, which grants him near infinite power at the cost of chronic pain. He also shares a body with the villain from Thor 2. The stone (also called the aether) is eating him alive. He has a little sister that he hadn’t seen since May, and religious trauma that he hasn’t unpacked. He’s been doing pretty well in class lately, but is working on a YouTube video at the moment. Zach has long dark hair and sickly pale skin, which makes him look a bit like Loki, the supervillain that he has a crush on.

And the blond girl reading Lord of the Flies for homework? Her name is Cyrene, although that’s not the first name she’s tried out since running away from her transphobic home two years ago. She has two powers. Telepathy, and the ability to summon blades and whips of cyan energy. Back during the blip, she ran a criminal syndicate and hunted any billionaire or politician who dared to exploit others. For the record, she did quite a bit of bad stuff herself. Cyrene has also read Lord of the Flies before. It’s not a particularly accurate depiction of how people behave (it was written as satire!). She remembers the blip well enough to know that.

The oldest person in the room is Sarah “Sol” Torres, but she won’t turn 17 for another few weeks. She’s afro-latina with loose curly hair and eyes that look more golden in the sun. That happens a lot, because her ability is to summon and control sunlight. Sol is used to being the responsible oldest sibling. She’s fed up that her only two options are heroic perfection, or rotting in jail. Why can’t she just be a teenager? Who is she supposed to avenge?

The US government in this world has a lot of crazy tech. There’s an east asian boy tinkering with some of it while sitting on the couch. His name is Daniel Asato, and you’ll never see him without a pair of gloves. It’s convenient that he likes engineering, because his power is the ability to manipulate metal. He’s mostly used it for crime though. He’s wearing gloves and long sleeves because they cover long, jagged scars on his limbs. They also let him avoid physical touch. Six years ago, when he was just shy of 8 years old, Daniel was trapped under a collapsed building during the Battle of New York. His parents died instantly, but his brother bled out in his arms. Daniel hasn’t wanted to hold anyone else since.

Given any group of teens, someone is always taking a nap. That person is probably Noah Griffin, an african-american girl with powers too strong and uncontrollable to really be used in combat. She can control the weather, specifically wind and cold. Noah is a tomboy at this point, with a short, masculine hairstyle. She’s also hoping to be a woman in STEM and does environmental work when she can. Noah has a bit of survivors guilt because she knows how difficult it must have been for Hawkeye to convince the shady government organizations to set her free. She’s worried about the upcoming winter. What if she freezes New York City?

Last, youngest, but certainly not least is Vicky Khol (whether that’s short for Victor or Victoria depends on the day, she’s gender-fluid in the same way as Alex Fierro in Magnus Chase. Blame my 12 year old self). She’s a suntanned country kid with dirty blond hair dyed red at the tips. Her ability is mind control and illusions, but they don’t work through cameras. She’s not even in high school yet, and SO EXCITED to be a famous hero. She’s a mischievous theater kid with a traumatic backstory that she tries not to mention.

By all rights, these six kids should be dead by now. Instead, they got a second chance and are making the most of it. They are under unbelievable pressure from outside and inside forces. The worst of it is from a second team of teenagers, who are hero coded and were never in any danger to begin with. They fight frequently. It’s a game to the heroes, but the villains are fighting for their lives. It all turns out okay though.

There is a richness and a depth to each of Kjell Ola Dahl’s novels that is present irrespective of whether they form part of his contemporary eight volume Oslo Detectives series or his standalone novels such as The Courier and The Assistant which feature a greater historical slant. His writing is truly immersive, and in The Lazarus Solution, the setting is summer 1973, largely in Stockholm. While Sweden’s status was officially neutral during the second world war, with Norway and Denmark both occupied by the Germans and Finland fighting on the same side, against Russia, the authorities permitted German soldiers to travel on Swedish trains while their presence was felt in the capital. The city is seen through the eyes of demobbed Norwegian sailor Kai Fredly. The son of a communist, Kai was compelled to travel to Spain to serve on the side of the Republican Government, yet when he returns to his home country, he discovers that his brother has been killed, after apparently working as a Nazi conspirator. It soon becomes clear that he has been spared imprisonment or worse as those connected to his brother wish him to avenge his death. In Stockholm Kai realises that it’s hard to find friends, even among his compatriot exiles when he doesn’t know which side they are on or on whose behalf he’s working.

The other key character in the story is a writer by the name of Jomar Kraby who is hired by the exiled Norwegian Government to discover what happened to one of their couriers who died on the border with Sweden. As it evident that the path of the two men will cross at some stage as the novel weaves towards a climax, yet on what terms and whether hostilities will endure is unclear. At times, the story has the feel of a classic black and white espionage film as secret rendezvous take place with charming, mysterious, or beautiful femme fatales, potentially luring Kai into dangerous or compromising situations as well as suspects being tailed on foot in broad daylight through city streets. At times it is captivating, at times a little convoluted as Dahl’s storytelling tends to straddle multiple time periods rather than featuring both in the same timeframe. I didn’t foresee the big reveal and liked a little ambiguity at the tail end of the story.

The Lazarus Solution has the feel of a classic which excites and educates. Much as I enjoy the author’s series, I feel I do prefer his historical standalones as it releases any restraints around time period and character. While each of these novels has been very distinctive, I perhaps feel that I would wish for in his future publications is a story with a female lead character which would provide a welcome contrast.

The Book:

Summer, 1943. Daniel Berkåk, who works as a courier for the Press and Military Office in Sweden, is killed on his last cross-border mission to Norway.

Demobbed sailor Kai Fredly escapes from occupied Norway into Sweden, but finds that the murder of his Nazi-sympathiser brother is drawing the attention of the authorities on both sides of the border.

The Norwegian government, currently exiled in London, wants to know what happened to their courier, and the job goes to writer Jomar Kraby, whose first suspect is a Norwegian refugee living in Sweden … a refugee with a past as horrifying as the events still to come … a refugee named Kai Fredly…

One of the fathers of the Nordic Noir genre, Kjell Ola Dahl was born in 1958 in Gjøvik. In 2000 he won the Riverton Prize for The Last Fix and he won both the prestigious Brage and Riverton Prizes for The Courier in 2015. Another drawing of Skeebo's mom! Tbh I really like her character, she kind of reminds me of Sam's mom from Green Eggs and Ham. She is apart of an organization that focuses on the paranormal side of reality, due to one of their experiments many scientists, monster hunters, and exorcists got stuck inside of this false reality and had to face the creations of old dreams and spirits of the dead. She knows Pac's parents since she went with them in highschool, the irony of it is that Aurora and Zac don't like each other, guess that trait passed down to their sons along with their attitude.

·She's iconic af, being a bad*ss mother of 2 difficult sons

·She doesn't mind anyone but she takes a disliking towards Zac, always saying that some parts of him need to 'mature'

·She was targeted because she was apart of Dr. Buttocks disappearance, when really she tried to stop him from killing himself because of what he did to Sir. C (I sort of believe that Sir. C and the doctor could be ex-lovers)

·She is part of the 'Ghost Guides' which is a group of Pac-people that focus on the souls of the deceased, her team are either dead or gone from the false reality due to a few souls being deadly.

·She doesn't believe that Lord Betrayus or any of the ghosts are bad, she always thinks that they're going through the 5 stages of grief and can't accept that they can't go back to being alive. Her reports on the deadly souls were about at least 4 of the main villains:

- Butler was a soul of fear, he was covered by flowers from where he died and he would never leave until he heard from his brother to come out. He doesn't believe anywhere is safe and is always crying or panicking.

- Specter (yes, he's apart of this) would never rest until his afterlife enemies Earthquake and Claire is killed. He wanted to avenge those that have died because of Claire's selfishness and get revenge for the children that died in Earthquake's arms. His body is covered in jagged angry shadows and a harmful poisonous aroma. Protecting those he loves is his #1 priority.

- Dr. Buttocks is completely different since his soul is trapped inside of a tall robotic hare named Coco, Coco was built by Andy Daniels, Aurora's best friend. Coco was supposed to be a healthcare companion for people like Betrayus, but he malfunctioned and killed the doctor by accident. Dr. Buttocks is living with guilt and sadness inside of Coco's body because of what happened to Sir. Cumference, he barely leaves his sanctuary unless he wants to check on Butler. His main fear is always displayed on his face, hurting someone that he loved again.

- Unlike the other 4, Betrayus's soul can shift forms or ages whenever it likes. His soul's favorite form to be is a small doll version of his ghost self or age wise he likes being 5-16 years of age. Betrayus often leads lost ghosts and spirits to the Nether Realm so they can meet his physical body, but his soul is often very picky about if they should go or not, he wants to protect those who are scared of moving on and helps them get there when they're ready. His soul is very gentle and sweet, if you somehow ended up in the shadow version of his childhood home, he would take care of you until you want to move on. In his physical body he feels any sort of mental or physical pain coming from a new ghost so he would send them with Butler to be taken care of.

Aurora kept doing her research until there was an imbalance in the neutral plane, at the end of season 2 Sir. C built a portal to the false reality to get information from it, but it malfunctioned and opened up other portals in various locations, sucking many main characters inside. "Great, now I have to deal with this bullcrap and babysit, what's next God?!" was her response to realizing they were all there with her.

Supernatural Season 1 Ep. 20 "Dead Man's Blood"

After Daniel Elkins is killed, Sam and Dean are surprised when John shows up to solve the case. John finds out that the vampires have taken an antique gun that can kill all supernatural beings. The Winchesters go after the gun to get it back so they can kill the demon that took their mother.

Daniel Elkins, an old man, is writing in his journal and drinking Jack Daniel's in a bar in Manning, Colorado.

A group of people enters and catches Elkins' attention. Leaving the bar, Elkins is confronted by the woman from earlier, wearing a leather jacket. Elkins tries to load an old 5-shot Colt. He is killed in a struggle.

In a diner in Nebraska, Sam and Dean read about Elkins' death. Dean knows the name from John Winchester's journal, so they head west. The boys find Elkins' cabin ransacked and in chaos. They are being watched in the darkness.

Dean finds a journal and a message in the wreckage. A post office box combination. A mail drop like their father's.

They open the post office box and find a letter addressed to "J.W.". John Winchester, their father, shows up out of the blue. He reads the letter and learns that Elkins lied about a gun made by Samuel Colt in 1835. The boys know the gun is gone. John says it's vampires, and they'll hunt them together.

John listens to a police scanner as Sam and Dean sleep. He hears about an abandoned car left by a young couple who called 911. He wakes the boys and go to investigate. Sam questions John, but John just ask him to follow. When they reach the car, Sam is angry at John's attitude and questions his orders. Dean is frustrated by old arguments that drove the family apart.

Meanwhile, Kate gives her gifts to her mate, Luther. He says revenge isn't worth it if you die. He recognizes the gun.

Sam and John argue again, showing that they still hate each other. John tells them about vampires. They can only be killed by beheading. He shares the details of what makes the Colt special and why he needs it. It can kill anything that interests him, like the Demon to avenge Mary Winchester.

While looking for the Colt, they are discovered and run for their lives. John has another plan. He orders Dean to a funeral home to get Dead Man's Blood, a vampire poison. While he's gone, Sam and John talk and make up. They use the Dead Man's Blood to catch Kate and draw out Luther.

John's plan is to trade her for the Colt. The Winchesters argue over John's plan to leave the boys out of his final plan. While Luther and his vampires talk about the Colt, Sam and Dean invade the nest and free the captives.

John's plan fails and Luther knocks him out. But before Luther can kill him, Sam and Dean attack. They kill the other vampires and distract Luther.

John grabs the Cold and kills Luther. The gun works. It can kill supernatural beings with a bullet. John agrees to hunt the demon with the boys now that they have the Colt.

Does Michael actually love and care about Daniel? Because even when he makes him that offer to kill Terry, it seems it might be more because Terry’s actions shamed their family as a whole more than it shamed and hurt Daniel as an individual. Michael’s whole offer was loaded, and seems to mainly be for the sake of making (himself) and the LaRusso family look good again, and strong. It came off as selfish more than him actually wanting to avenge his brother’s honor.

If we were to answer this as Michael, isn't Daniel part of the LaRusso family? Isn't it in his interest they look good? Wasn't it them not looking good that got everyone into this mess? Why be loyal to an Alpha he never wanted if he could help the whole family by having him whacked? When NOT having him whacked could endanger the family by looking weak?

Love? As if he wouldn't have love otherwise. Tutta la famiglia, pups, and very soon, a rich new mate that would adore him. And yes he loves Daniel, would he look out for him, visit him, have him over if he didn't? Nonsense. It's a testament to both his love for his Pop and kid brother that Terry still draws breath. If it had been up to him, they would have taken Daniele home with his five pups and there wouldn't have been a trip to Sicily. (Which, alright, would have meant no Apollonia, so perhaps that one turned out better than expected...) But no, he has stood back out of obligation to Daniel's initial sacrifice, but if you ask him, now his little brother is making no rational sense. The tactical advantage of the marriage has long stopped being an issue, it's starting to become a liability, but do Pop or Daniel listen? Look on their head be it when someone attacks them for this now! "They could take it" Pop says, sure, well how many of their men would die because his omega brother chooses his mating bond over his very blood? A mating bond to an asshole he didn't even want? And Pop is all like "You have to respect agreements", and "You can't kill everyone", sure you could, per Dio, if he knows one thing it's that anyone can be killed... "Who would be loyal to you then, Miguele...?" People who know what's good for them, that's who. Not doing anything is asking to get attacked, so here he is, constantly working on possible counter attacks, instead of completely establishing dominance once and for all, only because caro Daniele has always had their Pop wrapped around his little finger. And yet you can't help loving the little guy, and he, Michael can't move against Pop either because Apollonia loves the old man and he adores his mate and he owes his brother for winning him his mate.

Still, why is he the only LaRusso to see sense?!?

Both of the character's solo films have dealt directly with the multiverse, so it only stands to reason he'll be heavily involved in the plot of Avengers: Secret Wars. As one new fan theory suggests, Strange's actions will be what causes the upcoming blockbuster to happen.

Shared by Redditor u/Namorons, the theory suggests for the second straight movie, Strange will misinterpret his learnings. After Doctor Strange, the theorist says, Strange misinterpreted The Ancient One's teachings about learning to let go his his self-centeredness. Now, the theory continues, after the hijinks of Multiverse of Madness, Strange will now let someone else shape the multiverse in their image.

Drawing from the wildly popular Marvel Comics event from Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic, Secret Wars features the Marvel multiverse collapse in on itself to create one singular universe. While this has started to happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the theorist adds it'll come to a head in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, setting up Secret Wars the film. Because of his learnings so far, the theory says, Strange will then allow Kang or Dr. Doom—a major player in the comics event—to reshape the multiverse so that he doesn't have to deal with the guilt. Which, if you're a fan of the comic series, could ultimately lead to God Emperor Doom ruling over Battleword.

Little is known about the next two Avengers flicks other than the fact Shang-Chi helmer Destin Daniel Cretton has boarded The Kang Dynasty as its director. Writers for both films, and a director for Secret Wars, have yet to be named.

Sorry I forgot to update everyone on the results of this poll. Though, as you can see...this was an interesting poll.

I was suggested to use a separate tag Agent Carter posts from 2020 and onwards, so as to denote newer fan creations, and I think that's a good idea. I also think 2020 is a good line to draw because:

Peggy's arc in the main MCU timeline quite definitely wrapped with Avengers: Endgame in 2019. When we see her again in the Multiverse Saga from 2020 and on, we see alternate dimension Captain Carter rather than the original Agent Peggy Carter in the Infinity Saga. That to me marks a new era in how fans might have engaged with Peggy's character.

2020 is also the year when Agents of SHIELD Season 7 brought back Daniel, and we see in Google Trends there is a surge in interest for Agent Carter after that. (We see similar spikes for Endgame and Multiverse of Madness too.)

Thanks to Captain Carter's appearance and Daniel's return, we see renewed calls for Marvel to revive Agent Carter. There have been calls for S3 as it would have happened back in 2016; there are calls for spin-offs and cast reunions.

For all these reasons, I think it is important to record the fanwork from 2020 and on as well. But to mark that they may be creations that come after the end of the Infinity Saga/the AOS-fueled resurgence, I will be tagging them #agent carter renaissance.

Some of you may have noticed that previously, some posts have been tagged #off air post. That was a loosely defined tag for when I feel a post was created way too long after the show's initial premiere. Under the new arrangement, I will no longer use this tag. Anything created in 2019 or before will only get the appropriate category/cast/character tags, while anything created in 2020 or after will get all that plus #agent carter renaissance.
