My favs as players of the squid game.

How did they end up there?

Well, it all started with Aegon, who had just gotten out of custody for petty hooliganism. He was recruited first.

Aemond is the first case in the history of the game where the ‘victim’ tracks down the recruiter himself, because he can’t let Aegon be any more special than him and was going to join the games in any way.

Criston couldn’t leave his dumb sons unattended, no matter how loud his gut was screaming about danger.

Daeron is just happy to spend time with his brothers.

Gwayne followed Daeron.

And Jaehaerys… Jaehaerys had already played these games before.

I already have several ideas with this au, and I hope one day I will be able to finish them, because, unfortunately, drawing is really hard for me.

A little bit about their numbers, if anyone is interested ->

About their numbers: I don’t know much about the significance of numbers, but I tried to choose them based on what felt like the characters’ energy.

Originally, Aegon had the number 222 ("the second of his name"), Criston had 013 (a walking disaster), and Jaehaerys had 002 (a reference to Aegon). But in the first case, I didn't want a repeat with a "real" player, in the second, it didn't correspond to the sequence number, and in the third, I decided to avoid "symbiosis".

And minutes before posting, I switched Aemond’s number to Criston’s, lol. I think it suits him better.

I also think Daeron's number perfectly reflects his gentleness and lack of conflict, and presence of the angular number 4 in Gwayne’s number reflects his sharp-tongued side.

Jaehaerys... Well.. this is another story.

But that's just my perception and my fantasies. I just wanted it to make a little sense.

Sunfyre moved his wing to shield Aegon from Vhagar's fire.

He landed on his wounded belly, which means even though he fell out of the sky backwards, he angled his body to avoid crushing Aegon.

Eventually, when Aemond found him, he curled up around his rider.
