"... Daemon entertained her by making mock of the greens at court, the "lickspittles" fawning over Queen Alicent and her children. "
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I miss the good old days when Rhaenyra and Alicent could hate each other in peace, as GRRM intended. They were never friends, there was a 10 year age difference between them and they really hated each other. Not to mention Alicent could be a conniving b*tch with a real agenda. No “doe eyes”, no “misunderstandings”, no nothing.
Since HBO took over, we have to endure some sort of twisted queerbaiting and a complete downgrade of Rhaenyra Targaryen because oh dear women simply hating each other for good reason is just not in accordance to today’s political agenda.

A United Little Family CHAPTER 2
Rating: everyone
Characters: Rhaenyra Targaryen, Daemon Targaryen, Jacerys Velaryon, Lucerys Velaryon, Joffrey Velaryon
Characters briefly mentioned: Laenor Velaryon, Harwin Strong
(A HOTD fan fic made by me)
“Luke slow down, you’re going so fast!” Jace yelled as they were running down the beach.
Luke didn’t slow down, and Rhaenyra could understand why. It was an extraordinary day, the sun was shining brightly on the water, there were no clouds in the sky, everything was practically perfect.
“Jace” Rhaenyra called. “Look how happy he is, don’t spoil his fun.”
“Does that mean I can run too mother?” Jace asked.
“Of course my sweet boy, have as much fun as you want.”
Jace quickly ran after his younger brother, getting farther and farther away from Rhaenyra, Daemon and little baby Joffrey who was nestled in Rhaenyra’s arms.
“Joffrey is getting so big” Rhaenyra said happily. “Aren’t you my little baby!”
Joffrey babbled cutely.
“Rhaenyra…I can take him if you want.” Daemon was always hesitant when it came to Rhaenyra’s children. He never knew the right time to be his goofy, proud, fatherly self around them.
Rhaenyra smirked. “You better not drop him!”
“Rhaenyra!” Daemon scoffed sarcastically. “I would never.”
She then passed Joffrey to Daemon, making sure that he was comfortable in Daemon’s arms. In return, Daemon passed Rhaenyra the blanket that he held in his hands.
Joffrey giggled with excitement as Daemon bounced him around.
“Mother come here! We found a good spot!” The two boys were much farther ahead of Daemon and Rhaenyra and were already starting to go play in the water.
“Boys be careful” Rhaenyra yelled.
Daemon adjusted Joffrey so that he could place a touching hand on his wife’s shoulder.
“They’ll be fine. Remember what you said, don’t spoil their fun.”
The two looked solemnly at each other before gently hugging.
“I know.” She smiled
Before they knew it, the three of them were already with Jace and Luke.
“This is a perfect spot boys!” Rhaenyra said excitedly. “Jace, help me unfold the blanket.”
While Rhaenyra and Jace were setting up the blanket, Luke could barely hold in his excitement.
“Mother, I want to swim now!” Luke was like a big ball of energy today, and it was hilarious.
“Settle down kid” Daemon giggled at the little firecracker who at this point was practically sprinting with excitement. “There will be plenty of time for us to do everything fun today.”
“Ok!” Luke shouted as he jumped into a pile of sand.
When everything was set up, Rhaenyra allowed her boys to go in the water.
“Race you!” Luke screamed to Jace and started running towards the waves.
“Hey no fair! You got a head start” Jace started running towards Luke.
Those two little boys running and playing on the beach was a truly happy sight to see.
“Well it looks like the boys are having fun!” Daemon said to Rhaenyra.
“I remember when you were their age you know.” Rhaenyra perked up at Daemon’s nostalgic words.
“You always wanted to take Syrax swimming with you, but Aemma always said no.”
Rhaenyra laughed at the old memory.
“At least I had you to keep me company!” Rhaenyra said as she gave Daemon a squeeze.
“Yes, yes you did.”
“Mama” Joffrey babbled.
“Yes baby?” Rhaenyra said to her little boy as he was starting to walk over towards the water.
“Swim! Swim!” Joffrey said excitedly!
“You wanna go swim with your brothers don’t you Joffrey.” Daemon said to the little one.
“How about lets all go swimming.” Rhaenyra shouted, loud enough for the boys to hear.
“YES! Mother give me Joffrey so we can throw him in the water!” Luke screamed happily.
Jace pushed him under the water as soon as he said that.
“Boys be careful! Rhaenyra called as she picked up little Joffrey.
Daemon quickly took off his shirt and started running towards the water.
When he was halfway there, he turned around and stuck his young out at Rhaenyra while wiggling his hands on his head.
Rhaenyra couldn’t help but laugh at her silly husband. That was the man that she married.
Daemon launched himself face first into the cold water and hooted with joy as he felt the cool breeze on his soaking wet hair.
Luke saw Daemon being silly so therefore, his automatic response was to be silly.
He tackled Daemon in the water and started laughing hysterically as Daemon threw him the air in return.
Jace started to do the same but Daemon also threw him straight up in the air.
Rhaenyra was really truly happy in this moment because her favorite people on the planet were having fun and acting like a true united family.
She started to come in the water, slowly but surely.
Daemon gave her a glance and smiled.
“Your turn?” Dameon asked
“No no no Daemon don’t you dare!” Daemon started to pick up Rhaenyra, who was still holding Joffrey.
“1…2…” Daemon was about to throw Rhaenyra in the air but remembered that Joffrey was still in her arms. He then put the two down gently.
“I swear if you did that Daemon there would be no fu….” she realized that the boys were listening. “Fun…tonight.” she meant fucking.
“Oh Nyra relax I would never do that!” He gave the boys a silly look.
“Here give me Joffrey” Rhaenyra handed him the little boy who was squealing with delight.
As soon as Rhaenyra’s hands were free, Daemon pushed her into the water.
“Yes you got her!” Luke shouted.
Rhaenyra was angry with Daemon for doing this and ruining her hair.
When she got up from the water and saw how happy her boys were, it wiped all of her anger away and melted her heart.
She started to laugh along with her boys which made Daemon smile.
All of the anger and sadness in the world could never have affected them in that moment.
Everything was truly happy.

I’m just gonna say that if Daemyra were political marriage they would not even fight in the first place, they would put their differences aside and they would be united against their enemies but they are anything but that. They made their marriage crisis everyone’s problem, they are that lost without each other that 10 year of depression in season one can’t even compare to what they are going through right now. Remember how they were happily married for 6 years and suddenly Viserys’s death changed everything for worse. They feel like they lost each other again and it hits them even harder now after they lived that beautiful 6 years together. That damn kiss, it is so obvious that it was about Daemon, she even talked about him before it happened, she fears that she lost him and that he would go against her now and Daemon, he literally loses it at every mention of her, when he asked Simon “Or is it Rhaenyra herself” totally paranoid that she would torture him like that. Both of them seek validation from one another and when they don’t get it they look for it elsewhere, I think Daemons dream with that woman before she called him “My favorite son” was his need for intimacy with Rhaenyra, I refuse to believe anything else to be behind that.
I am just so excited for their reunion at the moment, can this time pass faster 🙏🏻

As much as I like what is said for the first post, the second one annoys me...
What is Condal's obsession with making Rhaenyra look like Viserys as an adult ?
Rhaenyra is nothing like her damn father, and even less so compared to Daemon in Fire and Blood.
Rhaenyra and Daemon are supposed to look alike in Fire and Blood (in fact in the first part of season 1 of HOTD they were characterized in this way, as looking very similar and the actors even go so far as to say that it's like the same person in separate bodies, yet... the show doesn't seem to stay consistent on this either) and be united as one for a very long time before things go south.
Rhaenyra trusts Daemon, he is literally her best ally. Even after Blood and Cheese she trusted him !
Her trust in Daemon was really shaken only much later after multiple betrayals, and Mysaria manipulated her in relation to a possible affair between Daemon and Nettles who left to hunt Aemond at Rhaenyra's request.
But not before.
The writers drastically changed the characterizations of these characters and literally created non-existent problems in the Daemyra relationship and in Daemon's character to create drama !
And they think that makes their writing good ?!

Alright, might as well adress the elephant in the room:
- The absolute desecration of Alicent's Character is infuriating. Her straight up surrendering to Rhaneyra and throwing her sons to the wolves?? And betraying her own Father? Alicent HAS her issues with her family but there's no way that she's going to stoop as low as straight up giving them up. And oh, her saying that she was "fond" of Viserys?? Like what?? You mean the man who groomed you?? Put his rot in you and neglected you and your children??? What the actual fuck??? Was this the same woman who attacked Rhaenyra when her son got mutilated?? All of that for what?? Nothing! And what of your Grandson Alicent?? The little boy who was butchered?? Does his death mean nothing??
- Helaena's complete 180. Seriously?? Her guiding Daemon? The man who orchestrated her son's death? I understand Helaena not wanting to fight, and as Queen she has every right to deny Aemond, but her guiding Daemon towards his path?? Seriously?? And since when did her Visions get Lucid enough to pinpoint Aemond's grave?? Atleast Condom and Hiss had the courtesy of Helaena feel something towards her husband when she confronts Aemond about what he did.
- Oh Aemond, literally the only Green who (besides Cole & Daeron) who's fighting for his family. Him trying to force Helaena felt out of character, as, besides his mother it's her he cherishes the most. We see him lash out, that cold calculated mask finally dropping as he starts getting desperate when he lashes out on Sharp Point and it's innocent citizens as well as his sister. He still is that angry boy who lost his eye.
- We've got Rhaenyra openly admitting what Team Black had been denying all along. That for her to ascend, Aegon must be put to the sword.
- Cole finally being vulnerable and showing what's going through that head of his. How he thinks that this war is for nothing, and that whatever ideals he held onto before, have been let go of and that the only thing that keeps him going is Alicent. He knows that chances of him making out of this war are slim but he goes along with it, for her. Him admitting his hypocrisy, and that he has no shame was the cherry on top. A Jaime Parallel.
- Ah yes the Weirwood vision that conveniently removes any daemyra angst later on. Daemon realising how serious the upcoming horrors from beyond the north are, and that Daeneryes cameo is nothing but a cheap attempt by Condom and Hiss, just to:
a) Shoehorn Daenerys to appease Dany Stans
b) Remind the audience of the "divine right" of the Targaryens to rule westeros as only they can "unite" the realm.
c) Completely absolve all the future atrocities comitted by Rhaenyra and Daemon, as it is for the "Greater Good"
d) By doing so, they gave Daemon a convenient excuse to go on his "murder suicide" battle with Aemond other than abandoning his wife for one last girl he groomed, her being Nettles who is cut from the show, so as to not anger the Daemyra stans.
e) It doesn't even matter in the end, as it's Arya who kills the Night King.
- Alyn verbally decimating Corlys for abandoning him and his brother until his legitimate heirs were gone was satisfying to see.
- Aegon wanting to fashion himself as "The Realms Delight" Is interesting. Considering he will go down into the history books as the Rightful King whereas Rhaenyra goes from being "The Realm's Delight" to "Maegor with Teats". Aegon being negatively viewed by the smallfolk this season despite wanting to do good by them (to get their love and approval) whereas Rhaenyra leading innocent people to their deaths (by dragonfire) and watching from atop, and also sending a few "gifts" to the starving smallfolk, she herself being the cause of their starvation, via the blockade. If the writer's don't further fuck up, we might hopefully see the smallfolk shift their perception towards both rulers, with Rhaenyra being finally called "Maegor with Teats" and Aegon being somwhat looked at positively.
- Sunfyre cannot be dead. He's too important. I hope they made Larys mention that just to subvert our expectations.
- We finally get to see Tessarion, and she looks like a recolored Arrax. Hopefully with a bigger budget they'll give her a more fitting look.

Daemyra stans on Twitter are so misogynistic, illiterate, and racists. They missed the entire point of Rhaenyra’s story. It’s scary how they refuse to admit that people have several loves in their lives. I hope they never met a remarried widow/widower irl.
*EDITED POST* (10/8/23)
Please refer to this post to get a more in-depth answer.
A)
It's pretty clear that in both the show and the original story these two would have preferred to marry each other from the beginning. I am not totally sure if book!Daemon would have actually pursued, developed a relationship, or "looked" at Laena while married to Rhaenyra like I suspect he did "when developed a romance/had sex with/pursued/"looked" at Rhaenyra when she arrived at Driftmark and visited during the duration of her friendship with Laena.
Repeating myself, which is most likely? IF Rhaenyra was not okay with an open marriage nor in love with/attracted to Laena herself: Book!Daemyra marry from the jump and Daemon has a relationship with Laena or acting on the attraction I think he'd still have & pursuing a relationship with her? Or Daemon and Laena being married & later Rhaenyra shows up and he pursues/looks/develops a relationship with her while married to Laena?
I do not think he stopped loving or caring for Rhaenyra in their unique way after he married Laena. However, in the original story it is more than obvious he loved & cared for Laena.
B)
Here's the thing, I was/am a Daemyra Stan before and after HotD existed and I love their story. I read them as intentionally the OTP of the narrative. But I also don't really get how book!Daemon was seen as uncaring didn't love or wasn't at least emotionally as well as physically attracted to Laena in the beginning and came to lover her more beyond that.
I as a reader/audience/consumer of stories do prefer soulmate and one-true-love stories over many other types of love stories, but it's not enough for me to measure a person or character's worthiness based on how many people they've been with. And in real life, it's just a fact that people fall in love (and I still don't know what that's supposed to mean myself, what "love" is) more than once in their lives. Doesn't seem fair to be so repressive and deny the possibility for DaemonxLaena to have more respect, affection, or care in a TV adaptation, which is what some do. The show we do have barely delivered and made it seem that Daemon cares but is much more distant than even what the original text shows.
So I don't begrudge people for saying show!Daemon should have been genuinely in love with or loved and cared for Laena, even while also in love with Rhaenyra. One, the text supports that possibility, and two, love could be different without being less or "more" or "less" as in quantity, whatever that is supposed to mean.
Outside of narrative, yes I do think it's possible for a person to want to be with one person more than another person, and the original story gives enough for us to believe that there was real love and caring between Laena & Daemon. In canon, they marry they married in 115. In 116 A.C., he took it upon himself to write a letter to Viserys un-flashingly (as is his way) to get him and his family to stay at Driftmark so their daughters could grow up in one of their ancestral homes. Before that, they lived together touring several Essosi cities before settling in Pentos so Laena could birth the dragon twins 116. Only a few months pass before they move to Driftmark so the girls can grow up there. So they had been married for a year or so, alone, for a year. At some point in 117, Rhaenyra becomes friends with Laena. Laena died in 120 A.C., so Laena-Daemon-Rhaenyra was a unit of some kind longer than Daemon and Laena were but Daemon was obviously still sleeping with Laena for her to be pregnant and die of her labors in 120 A.C. The man also grieved heavily after she died.
Meanwhile, he spent a few months with Rhaenyra after he came back from the Stepstones in 111 A.C. and before his next exile. Still, Rhaenyra admired him familially/platonically before Mysaria's exit and for years. I do not think he ignored her or did not spend some time with her before he went to the Stepstones, and he was not responsive to that, even if not to the same degree. There was a bond made there that facilitated/informed their later bonding after he returned and began to court/"court" her.
This is what I think DaemonxLaena's pre-marriage relationship was like and why he chose her/she chose him in the first place.
I don't think he loved her exactly like how he loved Rhaenyra nor that they immediately built a relationship like the one he does with Rhaenyra, but these women are two different people and the circumstances of their getting together are very different. And I am not sure if Laena thought of him as her great love so much as her partner because it likely wasn't that type of relationship, as: the text centers Daemyra more; we do not get a clue as to Laena's feelings for Daemon as much as we have considerations for how he felt for her besides her wanting to marry him (and not likely not wanting to marry a freeloading poor Braavosi boy-man); and the text emphasizes how much Laena loved dragon-riding and her bonding with Vhagar at 12 over any romantic feelings for Daemon while they were married. Her relationship & feelings of love (of any kind) for Rhaenyra also seem evidently stronger than her feelings for Daemon to me during the actual marriage. (But IDK, bc we don't have actual details!)
Is this because Laena had a smaller role to play in the story and did not do any political act besides marry Daemon have his kids and betroth her kids to Rhaenyra's and therefore there was less attention paid to her and her feelings for Daemon? Is this because those who could have brought more insight for us were at the Essosi cities the couple spent more time in than in Driftmark? Or is this because she just actually didn't express affection with Daemon in their time at Driftmark? IDK.
Conclusion(?)
It's also safe to say that he really did love/care about Laena when we know how he treated Rhea Royce. But, I can see how Daemon would love Rhaenyra more...intensely, I guess? There's a je-nais-se-quois to it.
Because it is without a doubt true that he spent with Rhaenyra not very long after Laena's death if he hadn't already been doing so before she died. Pretty sure that post-death sex was for intimacy and to "consummate" something interrupted and thus longed for.
Like I said in an earlier post, it's better to say that book!Rhaenyra was Daemon's first, enduring, and most intense(?) love. It's hard to impossible to quantify the unquantifiable.
NOTE
IN THE COMMENT SECTION OF THIS POST, PLEASE SET IT "Newest first" TO SEE A VERY IMPORTANT REVELATION!!!!

Calling book daemyra's relationship "ambiguous" just because you can't stand that Rhaenyra was loved and you want to diminish her is such a mysoginistic move. Because what exactly was even remotely ambiguous in how Daemon was always attentive and always thinking of her while he was away in his travels? What was ambiguous in love poems, sailing and spending lazy hours in her constant company? In them being called lovers? In Daemon wanting to marry her and asking for her hand? In either of them only getting with other people only when they were completely apart and had no way to reach other? In them making a baby long before their wedding and him going on a killing spree to free Rhaenyra for himsef? In him being known as so possessive of her he was thought capable of murder out of jealousy for her affections? In them marrying in secret to the extent that absolutely everyone was scandalized and the memories of their spouses tarnished? In them living happily and peacefuly for ten years in their marriage? In him organizing what was arguably the blackest act of his entire life to avenge her boy, who wasn't even biologically his? In him crowning her, raising an army for her, fighting and dying for her? Some of you spend so much making up headcanons and forcing people to agree with them that you don't even speak about canon anymore. It's embarassing.

One thing I have always admired about the Blacks is how they are a tight family unit, compared to the greens.
The Blacks did not even start out as a one whole family. Rhaenyra and Daemon both had different spouses, children from different marriages. And after Rhaenyra and Daemon finally married, the Blacks all became one in the true sense of the word family. They always have each other’s backs.
The greens, on the other hand, always seemed to me as a necessary alliance, but never a true family. For Alicent and Otto, the green kids and grandkids were nothing more than their political chess pieces.
Even when Daemon thought that “a son for a son” would hurt the greens just as much as they hurt Rhaenyra, it didn’t really have that effect. The only one who truly suffered was Helaena. The others, especially Alicent and Otto, saw this as a direct attack on their faction, and as a result they needed to strike back. But they didn’t truly give a damn that the little boy was gone from their lives. They lost an important chess piece. That’s about it.
There are a lot of things which make the greens seem as an alliance rather than a family. Such as the fact that Aemond secretly seeks to take the throne from his brother. He doesn’t actually do it, but it is constantly implied how much worthier he deems to be compared to Aegon (both in the book and the show). And he didn’t hesitate to take charge and wear the Conqueror’s crown while Aegon was incapacitated.
Next, there is Daeron, who barely even knows his so-called family, given how much time he spent in Oldtown. He is a Hightower pawn with a dragon, and used as such throughout the whole Dance.
As for Helaena, while she doesn’t have issues in the book, she is still treated as the least important green. Nobody truly cares about her suffering. Alicent put the crown on her head and called her “Queen” yet she constantly undermined her position, and acted as if she was still the Queen. And after Helaena does commit suicide, there is barely any mourning. Alicent plots to have her son married to Cassandra Baratheon and produce male heirs, just to avoid having Rhaenyra’s son end up on the throne.
Finally, we have Ser Crispin Cole. He likes to think that he is part of the “green family” but he really isn’t. He is the family guard dog. They are basically using him. Using his hatred for Rhaenyra for their own gain.
The Blacks have such great family vibes, that it’s a shame they didn’t focus on it in the show. The show writers were really lazy in the writing of the family dynamic for Team Black. They spent so many happy years on Dragonstone before the war started. We barely got a glimpse of that.
Don’t even get me started on how they didn’t show even a bit of Daemyra’s married life. Episodes 8-10 were straight up business. It would have been nice to show how happy the Blacks were away from the Court drama and the greens’ bullying.

I don't know if you're familiar with the concept of yandere, but I can clearly see the greens and the blacks as yanderes for Jace.
Romantic Yanderes: Aemond, Aegon II, Baela, Daeron, Cregan and Lucerys
Platonic Yanderes: Rhaenyra, Daemon, Viserys, Corlys, Rhaenys, Joffrey, Rhaena, Helaena, Aegon III, Viserys II, Laenor, Harwin, Alicent and Otto
It may seem strange, but I can see Alicent creating an obsession with Jace when she sees in him the younger version of Rhaenyra, the one who was her best friend and unlike what happened with Rhaenyra, she decides to “save” Jace and do everything to keep him in the path that she considers correct. She sees in him a second chance, and she will be damned if she loses it.
Otto, on the other hand, sees in Jace a way to get what he wants, which is to put Aegon II on the throne and prevent Rhaenyra from assuming her birthright. After all, if Jace and Aegon get married and Aegon usurps his sister's throne, even more people would be willing to support him, since both bloodlines will be united and will continue on the Iron Throne through their children, which would be the perfect solution for the misogynistic lords of Westeros who do not accept a woman on the Iron Throne and to avoid a war, in addition to putting Rhaenyra in a complicated position, against her own son. In his ambition, when Otto begins to observe Jace more closely, he realizes how intelligent and capable he is as an heir to the throne, Otto wishes his own grandson was like that. Later, when his admiration, initially spiteful and then genuine, intensifies, he becomes even more invested in his plans. After all, if Jace is (unfortunately) not his grandson by blood, he will become one through marriage.
Imagine how the Alicent x Rhaenyra and Daemon x Otto conflicts would intensify in this scenario? While Alicent and Otto are extremely invested in "saving" Jace from Daemyra's "vile influence", Rhaenyra and Daemon are willing to do whatever is necessary to free their eldest son from the Hightowers' clutches.
Poor Jace! He would be the center of the war. The greens and the blacks would not just be fighting for the iron throne, but mainly for him.
!! i'm very familiar with the concept of yanderes (it's one of my fav flavors!!🤭) and anon your mind!!😳🧠🤯🤯 i do think out of all of them otto might be the hardest sell/maybe the least attached yandere bc jace definitely has his own opinions, for all that he values outside advice, and otto's main issue with seating daemon or rhaenyra as heir was they were too strong-minded for him to fully control/coral. so yeah i think that would be a point of contention at least early on but you're right and i don't think it'd be impossible to change his mind (jace and his silvertongue is very important to me and i'd love to see it pitted against otto LOL)
PLEASE otto and alicent having delulu saviour complexes abt jace meanwhile daemyra are protective parents goes hard asf fjsk but poor jace😭😭 him being the center of the war would wreak such havoc on his already-present issues and complexes🥹 he's having a terrible time but we! We are having fun! so sry jacaerys my love but you're just gonna have to hang in there💀💕

It’s too early for the doomed Daemyra takes. The season hasn’t even started.
Did everyone just read the fall of KL to Rhaenyra chapter and think it was random that Rhaenyra and Daemon both decided to head on over there at the same time? Do people think she dragged him down the hall of the throne room against his will to make him stand beside her?
They’re planning together.
Yes they have their angst and turmoil.
But they are a united front in the end. It’s actually rather important to the story that they have a trust between them because otherwise Mysaria’s plots and Rhaenyra’s paranoia and Daemon’s sacrifice serve no emotional point.
I think it’s another element of the story that the fandom seems determined the show will rush right through. Like Rhaenyra’s grief for Luke.
It’s like because people know what B&C is they think nothing leading up to it matters. Similarly now it’s well we know Rhaenyra stops trusting Daemon so that means it’s a bad time for them from now on. But just because you know where the story is heading doesn’t mean HOTD is throwing out all the plot in between.

him losing laena to childbirth and his unborn child, having to see the pain in his daughters eyes, knowing laena has the right to choose for herself, him finally being together with rhaenyra, finally feeling at home, only to hear her screaming in pain, knowing there's nothing he can do, once again, knowing he will never hold her and visenya in his arms, knowing her pain but still feeling the need to function, not able to fully show his pain, going into war mode to protect his family but feeling a part of himself breaking while seeing rhaenyra holding visenyas body, having to once again stay at her side, unable to change what happened but ready to die right there not only for his queen, for the god damn throne but for his family, for his wife, knowing they feel the same burning pain
dear hbo, I fucking hate you for not showing this scene, I can already see the comments about daemons actions in the next season and you once again purposely robbed matt from showing daemon being vulnerable and caring. Daemon will never be black and white, there is a complexity behind his actions and he fucking feels things and I will stand behind that.

I wish we got to see more of little Helaena (Evie Allen)
We should've seen more of the young Targtowers and Baela, Rhaena, Jace and Luke.
I feel like episodes 6 and 7 was not enough to set up a foundation for them. We needed at least one more episode before the events in High Tide to just get a feel of how the children interact with one another and their parents, and what effect that will have on their future relationships.
Scenes of Viserys with one of Alicent's kids would've been nice, especially Aegon, this son he'd always been waiting for. Not to mention Daemon. We deserve a follow up with how he treats his daughters differently because of his Targaryen supremacy views. Make the audience understand why Rhaena made the choices she made as an adult, if you know what I mean.
Helaena's dragon dreams should have been shown as something of concern not just to Alicent but maybe the Maesters as well. Maesters study everything from medicines to signs etc. This was a missed opportunity. Was no one really interested in diagnosing what Helaena's case is???
Baela and Rhaena should've been introduced to Viserys and the court like in the book, when they were children so that they set up their relationship with the Strong boys during their visit and the tensions with Aemond and Aegon. Have Helaena and the girls hang out and maybe their parents try to forbid that growing friendship.
Rhaena and Aemond acknowledging each other as dragonless Targaryens would've been so awkward but also heart wrenching. They are similar but are damned to be enemies because of their parents allegiances. Make this a symbol of the family divide, and Daemyra and Alicent's lack of interest in uniting.
An Aegon and Helaena scene would have been nice as well because they are the future King and Queen. Strained or lukewarm, we needed a feel of what their relationship as siblings was, so that when they're grown all the pieces fall in place in terms of interpretation.
Baela needs to try and punch Aegon at least once, although I know we already had a scene with them at the dinner table when they were older lol. These two will take each other down in Dragonstone. Their interaction is important!
In conclusion, yes, young Helaena needed more coverage and fleshing out. I doubt they can effectively achieve this in just under 8 episodes of screentime in season 2. What do I know, though? 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’m really curious to know ur thoughts on ageon iii, jaeheara, jaeheara and ageon iii marriage, jaeheara and her death, daenaera, aegon iii and daenaera marriage, and viserys ii
I hate it. I am livid. You don't, you NEVER, you CANNOT ruin your perfect War-of-the-Roses ending, under no circumstances! It is illegal. It is an affront against the gods. It is against the laws of nature.
Jaehaera just bloody dies randomly two years after her wedding. What need is there for this? What purpose does it fulfill? You managed to finish your succession crisis by uniting the claims of the two rival factions. Why go back and change it? Literally, narratively and thematically what do you gain? Is it so important that only Daemyra's rancid ass genes pass down?
The thing is that neither Jaehaera, nor Daenaera, are developed in any way. He just replaces one child bride with another. Basically invents a Velaryon girl out of nowhere and makes her Westeros' Hottest Six-Year-Old. I get that he wanted to make some kind of point about the Maiden's Day Cattle Show, which was inspired by real-life events, but... couldn't he have done that for any other king? Did it have to be at the expense of Jaehaera? Daenaera's entire purpose in the story is to somehow coax 5 children out of Aegon III's reclusive balls and then she disappears from the narrative. Her role in the children's upbringing is not explained. What happened that they became such flops?
I mean... when you're the author, you get to decide what characters you have and what they do. Did he have to include Jaehaera at all if he wanted to make Daenaera Aegon III's Queen so badly? Did he have to make Jaehaera "simple"? Just say Aegon II and Helaena had two sons, do the ole switcheroo for Blood & Cheese and be done with it.
ANYWAY. PRINCESS Shireen Baratheon ends her story with Aegon III / Jaehaera, because she knows what's up.

do you think daemyra will only go down the drain in season 2? because daemon hanging rhaenyra must mean something
I think so. There have been red flags that fans ignored since the start, but choking was the beginning of the end of a “happy” Dumbnyra.
There is a leak that states Alicent will be visiting Dragonstone(and I think this is after Blood & Cheese which doesn't make sense, but hey it wouldn't be HOTD without an incoherent plot 🤷🏽‍♀️)so I imagine Rhaenyra wasn’t apart of that plot which will cause further strain on their marriage.
Then other leaks state Daemon and Rhaenyra are separated for most of the season. Daemon seems to be going through his emo stage and slashing trees so he’s thinking about life and his place in the world(especially learning that Big Bro Hottie didn’t love him like that).
Rhaenyra is still mourning her lost friendship(why either Alicent or her wants to rekindle it is beyond me, but again this show doesn’t make sense), and her children are dropping like flies😬
The time apart isn’t going to help things. They aren’t a unit(nor have they ever been). With Rhaenyra wanting peace(or whatever BS they’ll put in to make her into an ultimate girl boss), Daemon being Daemon, and Nettles coming into the picture(right Ryan Condal🙃) it’s not looking good for the great white ship of the show🤷🏽‍♀️
Tumblr media
Sorry I couldn’t help myself🤣
I could be wrong of course, because we all know how I personally feel about this ship
Tumblr media
But Ryan Condal isn’t the biggest fan of Dumbnyra too(if nothing else I can depend on him for that at least 😒) so 🤷🏽‍♀️
