Top 3 generations? And best side game. This is for pokemon.
1. Gen V. It’s hard to explain all the reason i love black and white so much.i know that only having new pokemon was a controversial move, but i loved it. it genuinely made me feel like i was playing yellow for the first time all over again, it was nothing but new discoveries and new friends to make.
The story is also wonderful. Everybody loves N for good reason, but i also really liked cheren and bianca, going on an adventure with 2 friends and running into them a lot. I like the contrast of truth and ideals and the take on reconstructing pokemon core concept. ghetsis is a wonderfully nasty piece of work, too.
b2w2 i actually think is an even better game mechanically even if the story is a little weaker. but i loooove what they did with kyurem. the theory before the game came out was that kyurem was the empty shell left from when the original dragon split apart and i’m so glad that ended up being canon. And colress is nice, i have a friend who thinks he’s the best. overall, i keep coming back to gen V for a reason, it’s just some really, really good games.
2. Gen IV. Okay, diamond and pearl? they were messy on a lot of fronts. platinum? fixed every issue and then some. i love the sinnoh region so much. there’s such a quiet beauty to the places you visit, and the music is wonderful too. i really like the graphics too, i’m no artist but something about how moody the colors are really relaxes and comforts me. This was the region, btw, that made misdreavus my favorite
I love all the myths and backstory, too. Cyrus is my favorite villain because of the grand nature of his scheme, and the lake guardians and creation trio have some of my favorite lore of the entire series. Barry’s also great, just as an aside. it also introduced the physical/special split that has made pokemon so much more versatile
HGSS still have all the issues that plagued the original, like terrible pokemon placement and the worst level curve, but it improves the music and it has that same wonderful aesthetic for its graphics. and, while it’s been said before, walking pokemon. it was done perfectly in this game and proceeding games have either failed to match it or haven’t even bothered to try. it is the single best feature in any pokemon game.
3. Gen III. the jump from gen II to gen III is still the most dramatic of any generation shift. even as a kid, i remembered being astounded at how many changes occurred playing ruby after crystal. The game looks so good, the quality of life changes were amazing, the gameplay is quick and crisp (i remember just playing with the box system as a kid, loving all the little individualized sprites for the pokemon and how easy it was compared to before). i still think the game holds up well, it still looks gorgeous. My mental image of the way moves look still comes from gen III, and i think i’ve played through ruby more times than any other pokemon game. and you know what? people meme on the trumpets, but i LOVE the music of hoenn. those horns gave the region its identity and the fact that oras removed them is one of its many sins.
i also appreciate frlg, even though they have their own issues. being locked into 151 is definitely dumb, but the game is still a lot of fun, and i appreciate that they added a lot of extra content compared to the originals. still way better than let’s go, i’ll tell you that much.
honorable mention: Gen VI. X and Y are a mixed bag in many ways but i do think they’re the best games from a pure gameplay perspective. The sheer variety of pokemon to catch and fight gives you so many options for customizability, it’s another game you can come back to a lot (because you’re definitely not coming back for the story)
don’t talk to me about oras it’s complicated.
Best side game: Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. This post is already way too long so i’ll be quick, but Sky just had it all. the story was at its strongest here, the sprites were still around that added so much personality. The characters were all wonderful, aided by the special episodes, the gameplay was at the best point, and the music was great. None of the mystery dungeon games that have released since have come close to hitting the notes that Sky did.

hey if you feel like it, i wanna hear about the headcanons you mentioned for the pokemon protags
-READIES FINGERS-
Oh man you don’t know what you’ve unleashed, I have so many headcanons for the pokemon protags so I’ll shorten them for now. I’m gonna have to put this under a readmore!!! (I’ll also put them in game order or it’ll be a mess)
P.S I am sorry not sorry this is so long, it would actually be longer but it’s super duper late right now- if you (or anyone really) want more for some reason just hit me up!
RGBY
Red - Can talk! But has trouble doing it. Everyone in Pallet Town knows everyone else so that he’s more comfy with the few words he DOES say. Rival Green is supportive enough when they’re travelling that he’ll talk for both him and Red which Red appreciates since Green is ace at reading Red’s body language after all this time. Red’s pokemon are because he secretly finds them cool but he’ll wait for the pokemon to approach him rather than going after them himself. Never caught a legendary. Tugs his hat as a nervous tick, or pulls his hair over his face if his hat is misplaced. Most likely to do something death defying accidentally.
Beta!Blue - “I one up anything you say I technically stopped existing before I ever existed” is her excuse for whenever someone tries to pull something on her. Has a morbid sense of humour despite their cheery disposition. Wears a simple practical outfit that people can easily overlook and forget. Likes to spook people and really loves Lavender Town. Might be a ghost, who knows, Green and Red don’t comment on it. Laughs at her own jokes in her head. Doesn’t battle. Most likely to trick someone into believing something that isn’t true.
GSC
Gold/Hibiki - Has a skateboard and almost pretty much always scuffed up. Has a lot of bruises (whether from the skateboarding or from fighting its unknown), acts pretty aggressive at times to hide his nervousness or panic. Rocket used underhanded techniques to take down people and they had to resort to that back against Rocket, they still feel guilt about that and worry someone will find out. Protective of his pokemon because he’s seen what bad people have done to theirs. Pointy teeth!! People are weirded out by his teeth to be honest but his mum says he gets it from his father and he doesn’t know his father SO. Most likely to initiate contact.
Kris - The more open and happier of the two! She trusts her pokemon to be strong enough to help her through her adventure. Headstrong but sometimes a bit too stubborn. Her obliviousness of some subjects clashes with her stubbornness at time which ends up with her arguing with some people over what she believes in. Wears practical clothes and doesn’t care so much about the style they are as long as she can move about easily in them. Fidgets a lot because she has too much energy to sit still. Talks a lot if you let her. Most likely to be disappointed in you.
RSE
Brendan: A nervous kid, living in the shadow of his dad’s expectations. Looks surprisingly plain outside of his outfit and hat, though later on in the adventure he eventually dyes his hair white on top and grows it out somewhat (May thinks it looks silly but is glad he’s expressing his own self more). Expected to become a professor like his father but genuinely has a passion for looking after pokemon eggs. Doesn’t tell his father this. Has a secret base in a hidden away area where you have to surf above Petalburg city that he’s worked on himself over a long period of time. Ends up being a pokemon breeder. Most likely to tell you off for pokemon neglect.
May: Emphasises with Brendan on living in their parent’s shadow. Unlike Brendan who wants to do something else, May’s goal has always been to be better than her father and prove she can handle herself. Honestly confused behind the motives of Archie and Maxie because she likes everything how it is. Tries her best, sometimes doesn’t succeed. Even when she fails she gets back up again to try over and over and over again (even to the point of desperation with team magma and aqua). Ends up giving the champion mantle back to Steven because she doesn’t want the responsibility, thinking she can’t handle it, Steven says as long as he’s champion she can still have the spot. Spends most her time travelling Hoenn or finally reconciling with her father. Most likely to get migranes.
Other: Brendan is the assistant and May is the protag (mostly because that’s how i played it originally and it’s stuck).
FRLG
Fire: Definitely can talk. His default talking mode is sarcasm however so people tend to avoid asking him to answer something. Avoids snarking at Green because Green snarks right back and then they end up arguing. More serious about his battling, liking being able to plan and use tactics in order to take down an enemy pokemon with unusual methods. Probably punched Giovanni in the face without a second thought. Only wore light clothes ontop of Mt.Silver because despite planning battles he’s bad at planning for himself but has too much pride to ask for a coat. He gets laughed at by Green and Leaf. Draws on Green’s face when he sleeps. Most likely to need saving from himself.
Leaf: Catches pokemon for being cute, fights for the prize money, pretty vain. She uses her skill and charisma to weasel her way out and into stuff, which normally leads to her getting what she wants. Pouts a lot when her childhood friends Fire and Green say no. She believes in earning money now means financial stability later on. As part of a joke, when she learnt Fire was hanging around Mt.Silver she thought it’d be funny to hang around a volcano instead as the second champion to see who’d find her. It wasn’t funny after a week (not it wasn’t Green! Stop laughing!). Most likely to get free stuff.
DPPt
Dawn: Likes to believe herself the most intelligent among her friends, and for the most part she is. Knows a lot, and when someone brings up something she doesn’t know she normally checks the nearest book to learn as much possible about it in order to debate it with the person (even if the said person doesn’t want to anymore). Finds Cyrus’ whole idea really ignorant and silly, if people had no will it wouldn’t be a perfect world anymore because she believes a person cannot experience happiness without first knowing what sadness is to truly appreciate it. Studied the distortion world once, got upset she couldn’t find enough on it in order to prove it either way. Debates a lot with Cynthia. Would probably wear a black dress to a wedding if she didn’t think it was inappropriate. Most likely to get motion sick.
Lucas: If Dawn is the Diamond and Pearl playthrough, Lucas would be the Platinum one. The more instinctual of the two he ends up making weird logical leaps at time that end up for the best and frustrate other people. he knows a bit too much about the distortion world, he feels. Goes into bouts of quietness sometimes and becomes withdrawn into himself unless someone drags him out of it (normally Barry). Normally won’t go out of his way to help someone because he feels it’s not his place to do stuff for other people (why should he? he’s a stranger to them as they are to him), will however do pretty much anything for people close to him. Really dislikes Jupiter for what they did to Barry. Sometimes talks about dark stuff without realizing he’s trailed off the initial conversation with a person. Has Giratina in their party. Most likely to laugh at Barry’s jokes. Owes Barry P20,050.
HGSS
Ethan: Arceus could look at this boy himself and see no sin. A sweet child, Ethan had self confidence issues which slowly decrease over the path of his adventure. Loves the culture of his region and often ends up trailing off his adventure in order to immerse himself in a location. Gets flustered near authority figures because he basically fanboys over them. Almost faints when Lance asks him to help or when they casually chat to Ethan. Ethan however sees the good in everyone to a point that is pretty naive, he even tries to talk to team rocket members such as Ariana before trying to fight them because he believes they can do good. Normally doesn’t work, he ends up getting pretty sad about it later. Proton weirdly enough likes the kid enough. Most likely to befriend a legendary pokemon.
Lyra: Incredibly self assured in herself and her pokemon, she believes as long as there is a will there is a way in the world. Her confidence in herself and the people around normally get them motivated to do stuff. Though she is exceptionally good at battling if you put an egg in her hands she is pretty much useless about how to care about it, she was given an egg once and instead pawned it off on Silver. Took 15 tries to beat Fire in a battle on top of Mt.Silver. Instead of infiltrating team rocket, she instead knocked on it’s front door and attacked them that way. Most likely to choke on a boiled sweet laughing.
BW
Touko: More likely to fight her way out of a situation than talk. Out of all of her friends she was the one to go charging into tall grass and getting everyone in trouble. She seemed like a natural leader, everyone following a foot behind her- even her twin brother Touya. Despite her confidence, N surely and utterly shattered the original confidence over the course of the game and morphed it into another more grim confidence and determination to prove that he was wrong. Becomes the champion of Unova just to run off after N when he flew away. Most likely to jump off a cliff and land at the bottom with the least injuries. Had Reshiram. A hero of Truth.
Touya: The quieter of the two, they prefer their sister leading more as it let’s them step back and think more in order to plan ahead. They’re less battle crazy than Touko, instead liking to bond with their pokemon as friends by talking instead of bonding via battle. Ends up doing the gym battles, but is less serious about them than other people- instead liking to record his adventures in his journal. Spends a lot of his time in White Forest looking after the younger pokemon post-game. Dislikes N and on a lower level Touko for running after N without telling anyone. An unchosen hero of ideals. Most likely to accept the other person is right.
BW2
Rosa: Extremely peppy. Rosa went on her adventure in order to explore the world and experience what it has to offer. Though she thinks her choices through properly she has somewhat of a blind spot when it comes to thinking about the consequences of her actions- because of this people often look out for her. When she came across the pokestar studios she was completely smitten, derailing her plans pretty much to see what the place could offer- accidentally becomes a famous actress because of her odd ways of acting her part in the movies. Cuts her hair shorter (but not too short) after the game. Most likely to make a villain change their ways without realizing.
Nate: A happy child, when he was younger he tagged along with Hugh a lot in order to convince the other boy to be his friend (it worked… eventually). When he latches onto an idea he keeps at it as long as possible especially if the idea is making a new friend. When someone who he knows get hurt or insulted he takes it as an almost personal offense to himself. Has a bad reaction to milk. Hair is hard to tame and it gathers static very easily, really needs a haircut. Got in detentions a lot when at school. Almost constantly late to events unless someone else is with him. Most likely to end up in a different place than he was walking to.
XY
Serena: A mature person for her age. Serena’s ideal future goal is to become an assistant or researcher. Though she seems pretty sweet in her mannerisms, it’s actually her trying to be as polite as possible because she’s not used to the culture of the region so decided to err on the side of caution. Eventually when you get her to open up, her language is a lot more colourful than expected (she will, however tend to avoid more vulgar language). The more comfortable she is around someone the less likely she is to restrain her inner voice. Was really upset when Lysandre betrayed the region as she knew what he meant to other people. Cried when she beat him. Most likely to fake a smile.
Calem: A nice, calm but quiet person, Calem is a person with a passion for Kalos’ myths and legends- having heard them a lot from his father’s fairy tales as a kid. He will put himself in front of his pokemon if he believes that irreversible damage would be done to them (which has happened on more than one occasion, leaving him with quite a few scars across his body). Dabbled in changing his hairstyle a few times but felt uncomfortable without his natural hair colour so changed it back eventually. Ends up with his hair in a ponytail at the nape of his neck post-game. Allowed to ride on Xerneas’ back when travelling. Ends up close friends with AZ. May fall asleep in the middle of a conversation. Most likely to end up at the bottom of a pokemon pile.
ORAS
May: A somewhat neutral person, she normally waits for someone else to do something and to get the first impression of a person before reacting herself. Despite her father being a Gym Leader she didn’t feel the need to overcome him, rather she did the Hoenn league challenge as a way to find herself and what she wanted in life. She will go out of her way to help someone but if there’s something in it for her she will definitely do that quicker than other tasks. Finds Steven amusing because of his hobby and ending up in weird places. Has the biggest wailord plushie in her secret base (which is right infront of the safari centre) that she likes to jump on and sleep ontop of. Do not wake her up early in the morning. Feels somewhat guilty for what happened to Brendan post-game because up until then it had been her doing everything and like Brendan she also thought she’d be the one stopping the meteor too. Doesn’t like looking at Brendan’s ‘scar markings’ and feels somewhat upset that he has them when she got off scott free with Kyogre and Groudon. Most likely to roll down a shopping isle in heeleys.
Brendan: Didn’t really know what he wanted to do with his life, honestly loved helping his father with his work but didn’t feel it was quite him. He eventually decided to travel when May did and found a major passion in the contest competitions. Ends up wearing outfits like his contest one more often than his original outfit, ties feathers to his hair as habit no matter what outfit he’s in. Post-game May was distracted and held up so it was up to Brendan to confront Rayquazza in order for them to stop the meteor in time. Completely disbelieved it when Rayquazza accepted him. Because there wasn’t anything to protect him while he was up there with Rayquazza and Deoxys he has weird markings across his body that’re mostly faded or covered up from when he was exposed to Rayquazza’s mega evolution. Still thinks May is the ‘protagonist’ of their story and still wonders why Rayquazza let him ride on their back even a while after the event. Has Rayquazza on their team but doesn’t use him, and though they didn’t catch Deoxys the pokemon still hangs around them sometimes. Most likely to laugh when nervous.
Other: May is the protag again and Brendan the assistant, though the roles somewhat swap for postgame plot. The orbs of the respective legendaries protects the person trying to order the legendary with it! Otherwise the legendary could kill them before they ordered them to do anything.
SuMo
Sun: In it to win it. An avid battler, he’ll battle anyone who so much as hints they want a fight, doesn’t feel very guilty if they squash someone utterly and completely. Once lost to a preschooler when he was getting overconfident in himself which brought him down to earth. Sun likes to win fights in style and because of his somewhat vain nature he uses a lot of his money in order to buy himself clothes. Quite dramatic, his friends are somewhat exasperated in his dramatisation of every small thing but can’t help but smile when it lightens the mood in the room. Most likely to cry at Mufasa’s death.
Moon: A LOT calmer than Sun, if he’s the one who comments on everything she’s the one that sighs at the person doing it. Normally wears the same plain colour schemes and doesn’t care as much about clothes. The one out of all of her generation’s protagonists to understand the true weight that has been put on their shoulders, and thus takes the whole situation as seriously as possible. Highly dislikes Lusamine and even with Guzma trying to become a better person she’ll believe it when she sees it. Somewhat distrustworthy of Nanu but believes he doesn’t lie. Becomes the league champion partly for monetary gain. Most likely to walk away from a stupid situation.
USUM
Luna: Fallen when she was a baby, her mother never told her she was pretty much adopted so doesn’t know she’s a Fallen. She’s excitable! But sometimes shy  when people compliment her. Will help people out if they really need help but probably won’t travel across one side of the region to the other. Pretty clueless about the whole dimension-travelling “mumbo jumbo”. Becomes close friends with the ultra recon squad (especially Zossie) because she feels they’re honestly good people who need help. Most likely protag to trip over a rock. Doesn’t wear any sort of glasses or contacts. Likes clicking her heels together when excited. Most likely to come up with a catchphrase.
Sol: Fallen when he was about 5-6! He vaguely recalls his life before he was adopted by his mother but doesn’t talk about it much because he doesn’t understand very well. He doesn’t go out of his way to help people because he’s pretty recluse (even though he’s living in Alola) and clams up in conversations when talking about personal stuff. Completely dotes on his mother as thanks for raising him despite the trouble he thinks he probably caused. Doesn’t really like the ultra recon squad being able to freely move between worlds because he always thought he was stuck where he is. Wears contacts because he has bad eyesight, has a pair of glasses in his backpack incase. Most likely to backtrack.
Other: Luna and Sol’s Fallen status is what kicks their universe into attracting Necrozma and the Ultra Recon Squad to their universe rather than the original.

Title: Ties
Fandom: Pocket Monsters | Pokemon (Main Video Game Series), Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl & Platinum | Pokemon Diamond Pearl Platinum Versions
Word Count: 1,530
Characters: Shirona | Cynthia, Jupiter (Pokemon), Mars (Pokemon), Saturn (Pokemon), Akagi | Cyrus (Mentioned), Hikari | Dawn (Mentioned), Charon (mentioned)
Additional Tags: Implied/Referenced Child, Abuse Post Spear Pillar, Trans Male Character, Trans Saturn, I guess it's implied but yeah no he's trans in this
AO3 Version
News of what happened at the Spear Pillar spread like wildfire. The CEO of the region’s biggest energy supplier attempted to summon ancient deities of time and space to destroy the universe, and was just barely stopped by the teenage Champion before both disappeared through a wormhole.
“No,” Cynthia explained for the millionth time, “that is not an exaggeration. That’s really what happened.”
Obviously there was an outcry for those responsible to see justice. But given that the status of the main culprit was currently unknown, there wasn’t much Cynthia could do to calm the growing unrest in the people of Sinnoh.
She should’ve known that an early retirement was too much to hope for.
Interpol had called in everyone who was present at the Spear Pillar for questioning. This included Cynthia herself, but the consensus was that no one had any idea how to even start going about recovering Dawn and Cyrus.
Without enough evidence to pin blame directly onto the Galactic commanders, they were released, but only with the agreement that they would send in reports to Interpol every week.
When Cynthia finally found them, the forth one (Charon was it?) had already made his grand exit. Mars was complaining loudly in the lobby, not caring who heard her.
“It’s not like we need that coward anyway! I say good riddance!”
Jupiter sighed and rubbed her temples. “I’m not gonna act like I’m gonna miss the old coot but you’d think he’d at least drop in his letter of resignation or something.”
“You three look like you’ve had the worst week of your lives,” Cynthia said as she approached. Mars and Jupiter looked up at her simultaneously.
“Oh, it’s totally in the top five,” Mars said, rubbing her face.
Saturn hadn’t said a word since she’d first spotted them, though his eyes followed the conversation with the rapt attention.
Cynthia let out a deep sigh and clasped her hands together.
“C’mon kids, dinners on me,” she said with a grin.
All three commanders stared at her blankly before Jupiter finally spoke, “You’re not even that much older than us.”
“How old do you think I am?”
“Like,” Mars scratched her head. “I dunno, twenty-one?”
Cynthia smirked. “I’m thirty.”
“See? Not that much older,” Jupiter huffed.
“Yeah, you’re not a grandma yet,” Mars piped up.
Seemingly unfazed, Cynthia shrugged and gestured towards the exit. “You guys want food or not?”
“Um...” Mars fussed with the hem of her dress for a moment, unable to make eye contact. “Can I go back to my apartment and get changed first?”
Even the simple act of changing out of their uniforms did wonders for their moods, as if the weight had melted from their shoulders. They could think about the future of Team Galactic and the repercussions of their past actions some other time. Right now, they were just a group of young adults trying to enjoy their evening.
And considering how tacky they looked in their uniforms, Cynthia was thankful that their casual wear wasn’t too harsh on the eyes.
“I would kill for something super gross and bathing in grease,” Mars announced for the whole world to hear.
“Can’t you eat something healthy for once?” Jupiter scolded.
“I’m sorry, did you say, ‘eat something boring?’ No thanks.” Mars stuck her tongue out.
Without much difficulty, Cynthia managed to lead them to a relatively empty diner. They took up a booth in the corner, as far away from the other customers as possible.
Not that it mattered since Mars shouted every word that came out of her mouth. Subtlety was not one of her strong points, Cynthia figured.
“Holy crap!” Mars said through a mouthful of burger. “This is so good! Why haven’t we been here before?!”
Cynthia laughed. “To be fair, this place hasn't been open for too long.”
Mars groaned dramatically. “We totally should’ve had staff lunch here,” she whined.
“You know we never would’ve gotten it approved,” Saturn muttered, poking at his food as if it were some alien creature. Jupiter watched him for a minute before leaning over and muttering something Cynthia didn’t quite catch.
Saturn shook his head in response.
“You’ve gotta eat something.” Jupiter’s voice held nothing but genuine concern.
“I’m not hungry,” he mumbled.
“Then you won’t miss these.” Mars leaned across the table and took a handful of fries from his plate.
The speed of which he went to smack her hand could rival a Ninjask. “Back. Off.”
“But if you’re not gonna eat them, why can’t I?”
Saturn thought for a moment, then, while keeping eye contact with Mars, shoved a handful of fries in his mouth. Mars let out a sound that was utterly heart-breaking.
“How could you do this to me?” she cried, though the way she stuffed the other half of her burger into her mouth really ruined the effect.
As Saturn laughed, relief eased its way into Jupiter’s expression.
Cynthia cleared her throat, suddenly aware of how out of place she was. “If you don’t mind me asking,” she started, testing the waters, “what are you plans... name-wise? Are you just gonna keep using your code names or-?”
Tension stiffened Saturn’s frame. “I am not using my old name. Never again.”
Cynthia recoiled as if she’d been hit. “Can I ask-”
“No, you can’t,” Saturn spat.
Mars seemed a tad taken aback by his hostility, but quickly recovered. “Your old name was totally lame anyway. We’ll come up with a better one!”
“Until then,” Jupiter chipped in, placing a hand on his shoulder, “we’ll just keep calling you Saturn.”
“I still think you should call yourself Stanley,” Mars said, the task of holding back giggles being truly monumental.
“I’m not calling myself Stanley.” Saturn huffed and went back to picking at his food.
“Trevor? Goes well with Toxicroak.”
“How does it-” Saturn shook his head. “Does anyone else have any ideas?”
“I like Trevor.” Jupiter grinned.
“Whose side are you on?!”
Despite Jupiter’s protests, Cynthia insisted on paying.
“I’m owed a few favours anyway, don’t worry about it,” the ex-Champion said.
“You’ve already done way more for us than we deserve.”
“It’s not about deserve, it’s about need.” There was an oddly comfortable beat of silence before Cynthia continued, “Besides, I feel like you’ve been through a lot.”
The laugh Jupiter let out held no humour. “That’s an understatement.”
Mars and Saturn walked on ahead, their Pokémon trailing behind them. If Cynthia didn’t know any better, it would’ve been easy to mistake them for a normal pair of friends, teasing and joking as Purugly and Toxicroak chirped along at their feet.
“I’ve been meaning to ask you,” Cynthia said, “do you have any younger siblings?”
A small cloud of breath rose from Jupiter as she frowned. “No. Why do you ask?”
“It’s just- don’t take this the wrong way -you handle those two pretty well.”
“I just worry,” Jupiter said. She brushed a few stray strands of hair behind her ear, letting out a long sigh. “Seems like none of us had a great upbringing, so I just... do what I can.”
With a scoff, Cynthia said, “You’re the mom friend.”
“Please, I’m not that old.” Jupiter smiled, though the action seemed to take far more energy than she could afford. “They’re like my stupid little brother and sister. Annoying, but I gotta keep them in check, you know?” She held out her arms. “Welcome to Team Galactic. We’re a big, weird family but we’re way better than what you’ve got at home.”
Jupiter rubbed her arms, staring down at her feet as she walked.
“For all the shitty things he ended up doing in the end, Ma- Cyrus still did a lot for them.” She gestured to Mars and Saturn, who were still blissfully unaware of the other conversation. “Got them out of some pretty shitty situations. Sure, it was all for his own gain at the end of it, but-” Jupiter shook her head. “Fuck...”
Something about her words caught Cynthia completely off guard. She was suddenly taken back years, back to the summers she spent in Sunnyshore City. How she spent her days bonding over myths and old textbooks with that weird kid everyone told her to avoid. How he would sometimes show up with bruises that he would dismiss. How he would flinch if she yelled too loud. She didn’t find it hard to believe that the same kid would go on to help others out of similar situations.
Cynthia smiled. It was small, but warm and real. “For what it’s worth, I think he cared in his own way.”
“How would you know-”
“You guys have a company nap room,” Cynthia said with a complete deadpan, “If you still think he didn’t care about you at all, then you have vastly underestimated him.”
Jupiter didn’t respond, but the look on her face told Cynthia all she needed to know.
“It’s Julia, by the way.”
“What?”
“My real name.” Jupiter smiled. “Feels weird using it after all this time.”
“Julia.” Cynthia tested the name on her tongue. “Suits you.”
Julia glanced away, the tips of her ears turning slightly red. “Yeah, I guess so...”

“SO WHY DO U WANT 2 HUG THIS TRASH GRANDPA, BUNNI” post
Okay, i figured since, well, that one goddamn wifi event is That One Goddamn Wifi Event, I may as well make a short post about it so people who weren’t able to see it can understand how it fuckin Blew My Mind when I was a teenager and plunged me into the fandom hell for the most obscure unloved jerkass grandpa who may or may not even be the guy this vague tantalizing mystery plot point is even about, and AAAA
So yeah here we go, transcript of the event text (thanks, Bulbapedia!) and some general summary of the context of who da fuk dis Charon is, and hopefully maybe at least one more person shall now understand this tiny fandom for a tiny gremp!
~The Context Of Charon~
(skip all this if you just wanna get to the wifi event transcipt)
If you haven’t played DPPT and don’t plan to: The villain team of Sinnoh is Team Galactic, a bunch of silly guys in space costumes with a rad jazz theme tune and a surprising level of competance in a terrifying plan to erase the universe and replace all emotion with infinate silence. Also, interesting moral ambiguity cos most of them are either oblivious or outright good, just being manipulated by the team’s super scary badass leader Cyrus who’s led them to believe they’re going to ‘fix’ the world to end all sadness for everyone. This weird complexity behind goofy nonsense hair people is what got me hooked on them as my faves!
Tumblr media
So who is Charon in particular? Diamond and Pearl got a third version called Platinum that fixed a bunch of glitches and unfinished graphics and expanded upon the rushed endgame, etc. It also (for some reason) added one single extra member to Team Galactic, as seen here on the second furthest from the right. Charon is a grumpy grandpa and he literally does nothing in the plot. Its really confusing why he was actually added, he only gets more than two lines of dialogue if you pursue a secret sidequest waaaaay in the postgame, and he still gets like.. SIX lines of dialogue and not even a boss fight. Poor dude barely exists in this game! So what’s weird is that this wifi event kinda contains more dialogue for him than he ever got in the main game, and it at least gives him a purpose for being here- to introduce the new transformations for Rotom that were added in this wifi event. But it just seems pretty badly handled cos he never even appears in the event and there’s a lot of fan debate that it isnt even meant to be him, blablabla. And he still doesn’t do anything UNLESS you get this wifi event, which is really unfair and probably contributes a lot to his unpopularity, okay sorry I’m starting to ramble...
Basically, all you need to know is that Charon is a grumpy grandpa who does literally nothing in the plot.
The Establishing Of The Grump Gramp This is... kinda necessary to know why this thing hit me so hard in the emotions? This is why I don’t think it would work as well if Mystery Wifi Event Flashback Person actually ISNT Charon. All we see of Charon in his VERY FEW non-optional dialogues is that he is vain, cynical, pompous, greedy and for some reason obsessed with talking like a complete tool. And he’s SO MUCH this that he doesn’t even have any loyalty to his fellow villains, he exists to be like.. The More. Everyone else is some degree of honorable dude doing what they do cos they believe in a good cause, Charon is that one teammate that’s too evil even for the rest of them. Or, like, at least too petty? He’s an eternally incompetant comic relief dumbass who never even has enough imagination to do anything genuinely evil, he’s somehow less dangerous than his morally ambiguous teammates! He’s just sitting here like ‘fuq yeh i luv bein evil cos i can swipe the pocket change outta dis vending machine’, then somehow it falls on him and shatters his old man spine. Meanwhile his boss is being all ‘I want to make a world of smiles!’ *collapses the universe into a black hole and literally summons poke-satan* So ANYWAY the relevant point is that you can see why he’s THE SINGLE MOST UNEXPECTED person to suddenly get a sympathetic backstory!
Some transcript of his tiny non-wifi-event dialogues for comparison of how much of an absolute prick this man be:
” It seems quite obvious to me, Charon, the genius even the boss recognizes.” "Humph. Saturn and even Cyrus fall to a mere child... Perhaps another option needs to be considered. One befitting the genius of Charon!" [This is basically his only dialogue in a normal game run, aside from expositioning a few things that were said by other people in the previous version.]
Postgame optional dungeon text:
“What do they see in Cyrus? Immature, overthinking buffoon. He goes through the trouble of assembling Team Galactic for what? Ultimately, he destroys his own creation for his ludicrous vision. It's no thanks to him that I have to struggle with the pieces." “The young can live with their dreams. I prefer to remain firmly in reality. And for that, money is paramount.” “ With this Magma Stone, I will awaken the legendary Heatran! I will control the volcano's eruptions to extort money by the millions! Fear me! “ [cue him being defeated offscreen in a cutscene by someone else] "...Uh, what are you saying? I know nothing! Extorting with Heatran? Merely the blathering of this harmless old man! All said in jest! Besides, among Team Galactic's Commanders, I was the most junior..." [Seriously, you don’t even get to see what Heatran even is! its just an optional scene to go back after he’s gone and catch the thing.]
So yeah he does literally nothing and all we know is that he’s a jerk and he betrays his evil team only to fail horribly at being his own villain also that he has a Rather Specific Speaking Pattern, which will come up later in linking him to that wifi event BUT ANYWAY literally the rest of the team walks away and leaves him to his fate cos he’s such a jerk literally Jupiter says he’s ‘not fun anymore’ literally a man dressed in a boulder costume bitchslaps him with a giant frog its like the biggest fuckin smackdown and the player didn’t even need to participate, he just self-destructed mid cutscene farewell two paragraphs of dialogue granddad, we will probably never remember you ever
B U T
~ The Transcipt Of The Fabled Wifi Event ~
Extra context: this was probably the worst handled of all the horribly handled wifi events. Makes sense at least, sinnoh was like the beta test for whether such a thing could actually be possible in this series. i’m glad they’re more accessable nowadays, but what sucks is that now we don’t seem to even get as many Actual Events, instead they’re just a plain gift of a pokemon via trade without a fun cutscene :( But yeah it was only accessable for a one month period when the game first released, and the item you got in the vent didnt have enough clues about where and how you were meant to use it in order to find the secret room, unless you already knew it was connected to Charon.
The item for the event is the Secret Key, which is somehow charmingly the least secret secret of all time
Tumblr media
You take this to one random spot on a random wall in one of two separate Team Galactic HQs in this game, and the whole damn wall vanishes to reveal Charon’s Secret Lab/The Rotom Room
Tumblr media
Here, you can turn Rotom into any of its new transformations. And then, completely optional, is a hidden backstory for this one terrible granddad! The notebook on the bottom desk explains how the transformations work, gameplay-wise, and also ‘hey this secret lab belongs to me specifically, Charon’ The notebook up to the top right on top of the box which you might not have noticed, and might have assumed would just contain more boring tutorials? Hoo boy dude, 99% OF THE EVENT DIALOGUE is in that thing! And you’d think a second hand flashback entirely through longwinded narration would be terrible but man somehow it really just worked for me. RIP my soul, cause of death: this
SO LETS GET GOING TO THE MEAT OF THIS POST, MY FRIEND
If you don’t feel like scrolling thru this textdump, I’d reccommend Chuggaaconroy’s excellent lets play of platinum, where he read out the journal here. (16:25, talks about the various wifi event failures first.) Or if you watch this earlier episode (17:15) you can see the whole mini-dungeon where you can catch Rotom in the first place, which isn’t necessary to understand all this but its still super cool. If you do feel like scrolling, here have the appropriate music, or the appropriate music: anime orchestrated version

"It's an old notebook. There's no telling how old it is."
Our encounter was a sudden one. It was when I found my toy robot, one that I had earlier misplaced. At that instant, a Pokémon startlingly emerged from the lawn mower's motor! Clutching my robot, I stared, transfixed by the peculiar Pokémon.
The Pokémon hovered in the air, held aloft by a power unseen. As if curious and unafraid of my presence, it floated toward me. Crackling sounds accompanied it, as if from static electricity in the air. Remarkably, it seemed the Pokémon was the source of this power! In alarm, I flinched, certain that my face would be subjected to a shock. Much to my surprise, the Pokémon seemed to favor me with a smile.
Finally, I came to realize that the Pokémon only wished to be friends. I have decided to name this most wondrous Pokémon 'Rotom.' Simple though it may be, Rotom emerged to me from the motor of a lawn mower. Motor and Rotom... Surely the link is obvious?
Rotom is a Pokémon that is simply sensational. The fact that it can turn invisible is simply the beginning. What makes Rotom unique is its ability to enter and operate machinery!
Rotom and I became fast friends. We were perpetual companions. The electricity from its body forbade contact, however. We could not touch, let alone hug or hold hands, but we cared not. For we were bonded on a much deeper, incorporeal level.
A feeling of mischief got the better of me one day. Seeing Rotom hovering, I decided to startle it--normally I would not. Perhaps frightened, Rotom discharged power beyond its usual range. I fell, stunned, into the arms of unconsciousness...
When I came to, to my horror I realized that Rotom had disappeared. I searched high and low for my friend in dismay and desperation. 'Don't chastise yourself. The fault is mine. No harm done. Let us play as we always have.' Though my words poured out, my friend could not be found to hear them...
My search for Rotom carried me far from home. It was in the town's rubbish heap that I again found my old toy robot. Curiously, our eyes met, then the robot waved a hand as if in greeting. I knew then that I had found my lost friend. I ran to it and hugged Rotom tight, talking on and on.
The robot's eyes lit up happily as I held it. I'm certain that, within it, Rotom was emitting lots of electricity. Somehow, I felt I could understand Rotom's thoughts better than before. Also, I realized that we would remain friends throughout our lives...
"The notebook ends with this page..."
+++
Tumblr media
+++
And this is his one and only trading card, and the biggest canon confirmation that he was indeed intended to be the mysterious author of Eighteen Pages Of How Much I Love To Hug My Friend Don’t tell me he doesn’t become INFINATELY more interesting with this knowledge!
Fuckin hell I would give my left foot to see an expanded plot upon this man’s secret good side seriously HOLY SHIT would you ever have imagined he cared about anyone, let alone THIS MUCH? Just sorry seriously i could talk for hours about this aaa dear god...
Oh and another minor transcript, you can get some dialogue from Rowan the first time you transform Rotom into one of its new forms. Its kinda interesting cos it gives some more Vague Potential Lore that inspires a cool headcanon that him and Charon might have known each other in the past? Cos he seems to know at least some details of that hidden journal...
"A Pokémon that slips into electric appliances, you say... Hmm... That is somewhat off from what I've heard about it. Hmm... This is what I've heard. Long ago, there was a Pokémon that merged with a toy robot. Should that Pokémon be recognized as a new species or not... Debates over the issue were about to start when they were rendered moot. The very topic of discussion--the Pokémon-infused robot--disappeared..."
Also that leads into another possible less-heartwarming interpretation of the whole thing that is actually EQUALLY interesting and ALSO makes Charon way more deep as a character! The idea that maybe this heartwarming thing is completely in the past, and nowadays he actually is 100% a horrible prick. Cos I mean, the one rotom you can find in the game is in that mysterious abandoned fancy old house, which is pretty heavily implied to be the notebook-writer’s childhood home where they met it. You can find a fragmented extra notebook page which seems to be the day before the start of the entries you can read in Charon’s lab. It says "Som...hing so pecu...r shou... make off ...ith the mot..." , which was confirmed to be "Something so peculiar should make off with the motor..."  aaaaaallll these years later in an episode of Pokemon Generations. So there’s the interpretation that maybe this rotom you can catch is the same one described in the journal, which makes you wonder why its all alone here if Charon supposedly cared about his friend so much. Perhaps he really was a decent guy once, but when he grew up to be such an evil prick he abandoned his pokemon? or maybe it saw what he became, and ran away? or maybe some other sort of mysterious thing happened to cause them to become separated? There’s so many potential interpretations of this whole thing, aaaa!! Why was such a tantalizing plot point wasted on a super hidden wifi!!!
But of course I like the version where trash gramp has one shred of redeemability in his soul and then hypothetically you could have a sidequest to reunite him with his tiny tangerine friend and convince him of the error of his ways and then EVERYONE CAN HUGS AGAIN
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
srsly its got the power to make me never stop thinking about this damn wifi event for all these fuckin years giv grandpa justice, dammit

I couldn't stop entertaining the idea of a Pomemon Diamond and Pearl remake and it got away from me
I was thinking about it, as it is highly possible since it’s been 10 years since the games came out already, and there was a LOT to Sinnoh in and out of the core games. Plus the original games were very broken and have now been rendered mostly unplayable due to server shutdowns and incompatibility with sync up to other games. That said… heres some things that Id love to see in the remakes that I loved in the old games or things that could be improved upon:
Dawn
3D DISTORTION WORLD
CANALAVE CITY AND FLORAMA TOWN NIGHT SONG REMAKES I WILL LITERALLY START CRYING
AND MOUNT CORONET’S SONG
Plus all those dang legendaries XD What if they all had post-game side-stories?
If the battle area was HUGE and had all sorts of cool areas to explore all free-range like in Alola
If they brought back the casino jk
MEGA (Prof- Mega?!) Except theres an actual reason instead of the stupid alternate universe copout like maybe Cyrus (That was his name right?) makes this insane machine to increase Dialga’s power or to get to the distortion world and it blows up. Voila. Suddenly mega.
AND THEN SYCAMORE WILL HAVE TO EXPLAIN IT LIKE AN ORIGIN STORY BECAUSE DIDNT HE USED TO WORK UNDER PROF ROWAN IN SINNOH OH MY GOSH
AND THEN HE FOLLOWS YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY OH MY GOSH THATD BE SO PRECIOUS
Empoleon XD
More fire types because there were literally only like 2 in the whole entire game
Combining things from Platinum like that princess character and the battle tower
UNDERGROUND IN 3D
That Pokepal park or whatever it was called combined with Pokemon Amie to bring you Nintendogs jk
Chairs jk
The old chateau and mansion Because ghosts
The swamps XD
AN ACTUAL JUNGLE AREA WITH THE ACTUAL SAFARI GAME FOR STANKIN ONCE PLEEEEAAASSEEEEEE
Cynthia
The abolishment of those dumb “one hp havks” and all those cheat codes Fantima must have used to get like 15 critical hits in a row
ALSO Pokemon Contests And you can choose to opt out of the League and go for alternate paths for once jk
Barry lol
Different clothes because they had different clothes between Dp and Platinum right? Dawn had the winter outfit
AN ACTUAL DAY CARE
THINK OF THE JOY WHEN YOU DONT HAVE TO USE DEFOG AND CAN INSTEAD TRY TO NAVIGATE THROUGH A SLIGHTLY VISIBLE FOGGY AREA INSTEAD
AND THINK OF THE ELATION IN YOUR HEART WHEN THE GAME ACTUALLY MOVES AT A BEARABLE PACE AND NOT STANKIN TWO MILES AND HOUR
Unique locations and side stories to explore for eah legendary I know I said that already but A SHAYMIN EVENT MANAPHY WHERE YOU EXPLORE THE TEMPLE UNDER THE SEA GIRATINA AND THE DISTORTION WORLD A TEAM UP WITH LOOKER WHERE YOU GO AND DISCOVER HEATRAN THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS THERES LIKE 500 OF THESE SINNOH LEGENDARIES Just in a way where theres secrets in game like in Zelda or whatever where you uncover the legendaries yourself and not through those stupid events because theres tons of them anyway and it makes it feel so stupid and not special anymore that just anyone can get a Phione or whatever
And Riley!!! I loved that kid! He was the only one that actually worked with me in battle And oh right! You teamed up woth people along your journey! That was so nice
Ride Pokemon in the cliff and mountain areas
Poketch!!! Except more useful, I guess Maybe with minigames you can play with friends I dunno And connected to global trade
And didnt some of the gyms have a unique design like in BW2? They could do that again with puzzles in 3D even. Thatd be confusing but fascinating
Different pokemon between night and day
The battle restaurant
CRESSELIA
And the red Gyarados event too! Maybe a combination with the whole Pokemon Ranger thing, too. There was a LOT connected to the Sinnoh generation/universe Poffin cooking minigame? Maybe an option to choose character as Dawn/Lucas or one’s own character?
HELP ME I CANT STOP!!! ITS BEEN TEN YEARS THATS IMPOSSIBLE I AM NOT THAT OLD!!!
I NEEEEEEEEDD THISSSS

How do I write an autistic villain without demonizing autism by accident? ;-;
I’m not really sure why you’re messaging this to me. I’m really sorry but I’m not an expert on like.. political stuff about autism stereotyping, just because I’m autistic. And it depends on which country you live in, I know that america has a far more visible sort of cultural presence for stereotypes, due to the whole Autism $peaks controversies. I dont live in america and I’m not super smart or anything, so yeah this is a disclaimer that this is just my opinion and you should probably research answers given by other people too. And maybe ask people about the specific circumstances of what you’re writing, like the context of the setting of the story and what the villain is like, etc. I’d be happy to chat to you about that if you need help! (but again, im no expert, lol)
ANYWAY!
My opinion on the subject is that having an autistic villain is perfectly fine, as long as you’re not villainizing autism. Like...* Don’t make the autism the reason theyre a villain.* Don’t make people scared of them because of the autism, rather than because they’re a villain.* Don’t treat their autistic traits as scary or inherantly villainous.* Don’t make anyone insult them for their autism and act like its justified because they’re evil.
And similarly its bad form to do any of that stuff in regard to any sort of minority really. An example that always bugged me is how Excellus from Fire Emblem Awakening is scary and evil because he’s a murderous monster, yet everyone in the game constantly insults him for the fact he acts ambiguously gay/transgender/effeminate. Like, there’s way too many jokes about people finding him ‘disgusting’ because of some random thing he can’t change, like a sexuality, race or mental illness which plenty of non-evil people have too! It also lessens his impact as a villain because the characters barely even address the actual villainous things he does, and he doesnt seem to have any motive at all. They just ride on the whole ‘the audience will find him gross’ thing as a crutch and forgot to bother writing a good villain.
Oh, and your concerns are indeed valid, yo! Sometimes it is important to think about the context you created a character in, even if you didnt intentionally create any negative messages within your writing. It’s just that the case where a character will be seen as villainizing [minority trait] for being a villain... that’s kind of only in a very specific circumstance? its just that this specific circumstance is very very common in mass media nowadays. It’s ‘The Smurfette Principle’.If you only have one character of a minority in your cast, its easy for an uninformed audience to pick up messages that you’re saying ALL members of that minority are the same as them.If you only have one autistic character and he’s the villain, then you might accidentally be villainizing him. In a world where autistic characters being villainized for their autism is already very common, people could just assume you made them autistic for the same reason all those other writers did- because they think it’s ‘scary’. It feeds the stereotype even if you didn’t conciously intend it that way.
So a very very easy way to fix this problem is just to add multiple characters of a minority into your story, filling various roles from villain to hero to helpful npc. or anything you can think of!
Another good quick fix is to have your villain be autistic, but portray their autistic traits as sympathetic/relateable/a humanizing aspect of them. Not just portraying it as something neutral that doesnt make them scary, but going out of your way to add some scenes showing how they’re just like anybody else. Or even making it one of their redeeming traits! It doesn’t have to outright be something like ‘yo being autistic makes me inherantly good and childlike’, which is a stereotype all to itself, lol. But you could show them experiencing predjudice from another character, in a way that makes the audience sympathise. Honestly having a character attack them for being autistic instead of being a villain would be a good way to do this, as long as that character is actually shown as being wrong for what they’re doing. Or simply showing the villain having common autistic traits, facing common problems, doing common everyday things... that can be enough to portray autism positively. Have them shown doing this stuff outside of the situation of them being villainous. It makes them feel more human and less of an abstract symbol of evil. And because these small glimpses of normality are lightening the mood, they become seen as a positive aspect!
KIND OF AN OFFTOPIC TANGEANT SORRYJust my personal experience as an autistic kid experiencing this story... I personally headcanoned Cyrus from pokemon as autistic. Not because he’s ‘scary and emotionless’, but because his backstory was relateable to me as an autistic person. It’s said that his parents were emotionally abusive, and that he had nobody to turn to because everyone thought he was ‘a creepy kid’. And he was able to find solace by obsessing over repairing machines in his bedroom, and apparantly has trouble understanding people because they can’t be fixed as easily. Stuff like maths and science are kind of a stereotypical Special Interest for autistic children to be given in fiction, I guess because it makes you seem more intelligent when you obsess about that instead of video games, norse mythology, or collecting tiny novelty spoons from around the world XD (Yeah i was a weird kid.)So yeah sorry I went a little offtopic there, but the point is that it might have been by accident instead of intention but that villain has a lot of traits that read as autistic. And when i first played Diamond and Pearl I actually disliked him a lot because of that, I felt like they were villainizing someone who seemed relateable and potentially redeemable. I mean, he seemed pretty depressed too! Give that man some therapy! But when I played Platinum and got to learn his backstory I started to feel like the writers actually did want us to feel sympathetic to him, because of how all those ‘scary’ traits were presented so sympathetically. Like.. the backstory isn’t that he became evil because he was an autistic kid who did creepy things like obsess about machinery and suck at social contact. No, he became a villain because he was abused by his parents, him being ‘weird’ is just intended to make it clear here that he didnt deserve it. It makes him pitiable, it makes him relateable, it makes you feel so much more frustrated that nobody listened to him and saved him from that hell, and nobody even seems to remember him fondly, just because he was ‘weird’. And hell, even his ‘emotion is evil’ philosophy seems very relateable to me as an autistic child. It seems like he learned to seclude himself to avoid angering his parents. That’s the impression I got from his final scene in Platinum, where he finally acts angry at you for beating him, then gets angry at himself for expressing emotion and forces himself to go back to how he usually talks. I get a bit pissed off whenever I see fans of the series claim he actually IS emotionless, lol! This scene made it clear to me that this is just a guy who WISHES he was emotionless, somehow seeing it as the only way to be free of pain. Someone who struggles to deal with his own emotions, or feels like he’s disgusting when he expresses them. And this is VERY relateable specifically to an autistic kid who suffered from an abusive parent! “Quiet Hands” is a kind of common concept that autistic kids might experience, that’s the name for a popular ‘parenting technique’ that really fucks people up. Focusing on making your kid never ‘act autistic’, rather than actually helping them understand things. ‘Quiet Hands’ is specifically about slapping or smacking your kid whenever they show stimming behaviour. (Hand flapping being a common way this symptom can manifest.) We’re taught never to be too loud, and to always always have to restrain ourselves to avoid embarassing our parents. We have to try and learn how to act like ‘normal people’ and become scared of harmless parts of our own brain just because theyre ‘embarassing’, leading to even worse emotional problems as an adult. i mean seriously how is it logical to tell a kid who has troubles with social interaction that they shouldnt even practise it?? Plus its a huge mess to teach these kids to do way more emotional labour than neurotypical kids are expected to do, and then treat them like they’re below average intelligence for not being able to do twice as much as everyone else...
ANYWAY! That’s a thinG! Sorry I went rambling off there about how a particular fictional character touched my heart, lol!I just kinda wish he could be canonically autistic, or if I had similar canonically autistic characters to relate to, instead. So i think having more autistic villains can’t be bad, we’re so badly in need of more autistic characters in general! And villains have a unique perspective of being able to hit our emotions the hardest. I think its easier to cry over someone who has a sad backstory of how they became evil, compared to anything else!So yeah what I was trying to say before I went offtopic is that if the backstory is ‘became evil because autism’, then people will complain. But if the backstory is ‘became evil because someone mistreated them because autism’ then that’s a good way to make people sympathise with autism. Aaaaand I’m bad at explaining this, because autism XD Well, i mean, my personal symptoms and lack of diagnosis til I was an adult means that I’m still working on learning how to communicate correctly, I don’t mean every autistic person writes terrible tl;dr advice posts that degrade into pokemon XDOh man i feel embarassed now, you asked me such a polite question and I didnt know how to answer it very well...I just hope maybe I inspired you to go out and do more research, rather than putting you off with my nonsense!
