Been bouncing around a Bluey road trip fanfic in my head for a while and ended up getting blindsided by how long the drive will be on the route I planned out

Adelaide → Alice Springs is 16 hours?? Alice Springs → Brisbane is 22???

And here I thought I knew what a long drive was

#big j rambles #definitely gonna have to reconsider how long the trip is gonna take overall #cuz y'know it'd be weird spending that long driving only to spend less than a day there and do it all over again #and this realization is after i'd come up with all the plot beats i want to happen at each location #this is definitely me reaching a bit too high cuz i have absolutely 0 experience planning a trip #(nor do i have any idea what local sights are like i'm just playing this by (google's) ear)#but doggonnit i wanna write this so bad i hyped it up in my head now #it's a weird feeling cuz on the one hand I haven't been this energized about an idea in a long while #but also i have no idea where to start
