#caranthir looooves his brothers trying to get his vote bc he WILL extort them for all they’re worth#maglor hates it bc he doesn’t want any of his younger brothers to Badger him abt smth he Doesn’t Care About In Any Way Shape Or Form#he considers himself Above It All (←he is lying he LOVES winning arguments by majority consensus when he’s the one who starts them)#maedhros hates the fact that his (idiot) younger brothers can Fairly outvote him but he’s the bitch who came up w the system#back when it was just him + maglor + celegorm and they’d gotten old enough that they wouldn’t take ‘i’m oldest and i said so’ as a reason#maedhros instituted Majority Consensus Rules to re-rig the game bc he was certain he could Always out-argue at least One of them#and he was content with the ongoing assurance of his position as Winner Of All Arguments Over What To Do Ever#except then his dad had FOUR MORE KIDS and unfortunately even his powers of Rhetoric and Being The Oldest combined can’t stand against that#rip maedhros you would have loved democracy and especially gerrymandering </3
@pacificgasandelectric lol I think you say it best though these are all perfect and should be shared
All of this is making me think though; would they play Nose Goes to get out of doing unpleasant tasks or are they too dignified for that?
thinking abt the Valinor-era Sibling “Politics” of the fëanorions and how they must have been Absolutely Byzantine with Seven of them
i’m one of three which means that my strat when i wanted something we didn’t all agree on was always to figure out which of my brothers would be most easily convinced to side with me, and then argue, plead, cajole, and appeal to spite if all else failed in the hopes that i could get One person on my side which would automatically win me the argument by the magic or Majority Rule
in a group of seven, you only need three siblings to agree with you for a simple majority, but then there’s the dynamics of age, factionalism, and also the arguments within smaller groups must have been INSANE
