headcanon asks? you write obi-wan as knowing mando'a what are you headcanons for that?
This is probably much longer than anyone wants to deal with haha but to do the Obi-Wan Mando’a headcanons I have to start with some of my Satine and Mandalore mission headcanons:
So I headcanon that Satine actually was moderate at the beginning, in fact if she’d stayed that way she could have probably healed the divide before the less extremist traditionalist Mandalorians and the New Mandalorians eventually (but shit happened and instead she doubled down on New Mandalorian fanaticism by the end of the year).
Obi-Wan had done some quick studying of Mando’a when they were assigned the mission, but it was Satine who taught him more than just a few useful phrases, she helped him study at first just as an activity to do and then because it gave them an excuse to hang out as they started to see each other as potential friends. And Satine had a Kalevalan accent, so that’s what Obi-Wan starts out with.
Then the mission takes a turn for the worst and they’re on the run, all over Manda’yaim and other planets/moons as well. They’re both running and trying to stop their enemies/get Mandalorian politics back on track/instate Satine as the rightful leader since she won the New Mandalorian election and the Republic/Jedi put stock in that sort of thing.
Since Satine was way more of a known face, Obi-Wan ended up having to go into towns for their supplies/meet with their contacts/etc. posing as a new immigrant at first and used Mando’a almost exclusively for months on end. So he picked up little bits and pieces here and there.
Once they had more of a plan together, Obi-Wan started infiltrating Death Watch, going to events that they were recruiting at, familiarizing himself with their culture, and their accents. Soon he was stealing armor and posing as a member frequently at different cells, trying to take them out and find out enough information to take down their leadership. He learned more slang and dialect from them (ever trying to fit in as smoothly as possible) and by the end there was an unmistakable Concordian accent mixed into his Mando’a, to the point where he sounds like a very well-traveled Concordian who spent some time on Kalevala.
(And Satine, by that point, had sworn off the language altogether, and would soon be pushing to get rid of it across Mandalorian space)

Summary: Obi-Wan's not above taking advantage of a situation to get what he wants.
Details: Tholme/Obi-Wan.

"I don't normally do this."
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes in response, taking a moment to do a little turn as he let his cloak fall, exposing that he had come without much on underneath it and giving what he thought would be a very tempting view.
"Trust me, I think everyone knows that. That's what makes this perfect."
He went over to the couch, sitting daintily, crossing his legs, then raised his eyebrows in challenge. This was the moment of truth, he could be sent on his way, still.
"Well? Are we going to traumatize Quinlan or no?"
Tholme snorted, stripping down as he approached. "If this was for anything less than teaching him a lesson about when it is or isn't appropriate to use his old Master's room for his exploits, I wouldn't even consider it, Knight Kenobi."
Grinning, Obi-Wan reached out to him, helping to strip off his tunic. "I do love how ruthless you are, Master Tholme."
He very carefully didn't mention how he'd been wanting to do this since he was sixteen, because he was old enough now to know how disturbing that would be. Instead, he kissed him, falling back and pulling him along. The couch was just the beginning--Tholme was going to make sure that every inch of his rooms had an impression that Quinlan would very much not want to touch.

A/N: This was inspired by a chapter of Cuy'kaysh Dar that had me thinking of this.

For Cuy'kaysh Dar, something with Obi-Wan in Mandalorian armor, if that's a thing that ever happens? What color(s), when he wears or is encouraged to wear it, etc.?
I think even if I go for an “ending” where Obi-Wan is like “fuck you, Jango” he’s still gonna end up in beskar’gam at some point because Jango’s relentless and Obi-Wan has learnt some self-preservation skills from the scumbags he’s surrounded by lol
Set some years after Obi-Wan arrives on Kamino. Jango/Obi-Wan overtones (of course). It’s like 3am so please forgive the typos.
*********
It starts with the vambraces.
They're waiting for him with his training equipment and for a moment he's absolutely terrified one of the others is trying to court him. Then he notices how new they are and reminds himself that the Mandalorians exchange their own pieces of armor when they want to get hitched, they don't just hand off new ones.
Knowing the others as he does, he leaves them where they were.
No one says anything, but they don't go anywhere, still in his locker every morning when he puts on the rest of his kit. Sometimes he picks them up, studies them. They're very well made and he knows just by looking that they'd fit perfectly.
He lands himself in the infirmary a few months later, a training simulation with some too-eager CTs gone wrong. His armor is wrecked, having taken most of the accidental explosion. He’ll have to order new armor and then wait, and wait, until Jango or Dooku brings it to him.
Two days later, when he's technically still on medical leave but feeling fine, he shows up to train the cadets in clothes that closely resemble Jedi robes and claims that it's part of the training. No one is entirely comfortable with it, least of all him.
It takes only a week before he opens his locker and with the vambraces is...everything else. A full set of beskar'gam, in his size.
"Blue for...reliability," he muttered, tracing his fingers over the paint. "And white for...purity?" No, that didn't sound right.
"A new start." Obi-Wan startled, having not realized he was so distracted he'd missed Jango entering the room.
They stared at each other for a moment before Jango moved forward, pulling out the kute from the locker that would go under the beskar'gam. He held it out for Obi-Wan who knew exactly what was being offered.
It had been years, now, of dancing around each other. Jango's shielding was exemplary, but there was always the hints of desire, of want, when they were together that Obi-Wan tried his hardest not to respond to. If it had just been his body Jango wanted, Obi-Wan would have given in--the crude matter of his body was meant to serve him, after all, and keeping Jango happy was part of that. But he'd always felt something deeper to it than just sex.
"I'm not a Mandalorian."
Jango smirks. "You say, in Mando'a." Obi-Wan resists the urge to roll his eyes and the even greater urge to switch to Basic. "You know the words I want to hear from you, but they're hardly more than dressing, now. Speaking our language. Raising our children. Defending us when necessary. Contributing to our welfare. Answering the Mand'alor's call."
Taking a deep breath, Obi-Wan tried to release his tension into the Force. Like all Jedi techniques, it came harder to him now than it had before his Fall.
The armor was still there beside them, mocking him. The very last tenant of the Resol'nare that he wasn't, technically, following yet. The white blending in with the walls of the room.
Cin vhetin. A new start. A new start as a Mandalorian.
He looked back at Jango, who was still waiting so patiently, so knowingly. He'd had Obi-Wan on Kamino for so long, surrounded by Mandalorians, with no other support structure. It couldn't have worked out better for turning an ex-Jedi into a Mandalorian if Jango had planned it all from the very beginning.
Reaching out, Obi-Wan took the kute from him, shoulders slumping. "Vor entye, 'alor."

Omg this week (month oof) is sooo busy but I'd love to get some stuff done for Cuy'Kaysh Dar.
If you have a topic or scene you'd like to see (set on Kamino), drop it in my ask and I might write it into a chapter!

The Alphas had been trained to be many things--soldiers, killers, Mando'ade (despite the Republic's ownership). Every moment of their training was designed to strip them of their fear and uncertainty.
So why, then, were their times that the halls stunk of their own fear? That they huddled together inside their sleeping pods, which were not designed for two adolescent humans to fit, waiting out the night?

Hi! For the prompts, maybe Jango’s POV while he’s painting Obi-Wan’s armor (I’m assuming Jango did that himself)?
After having this sit half-finished in my drafts for like two freaking months, I finally got to a chapter with it...technically lol

Obi-Wan thought he wouldn’t like anything less than cloning a child army, but somehow he now did.

New Chapters of Cuy'kaysh Dar!
Chapter 13
Chapter 14
This is my Jango/Obi-Wan fic where Obi-Wan kills Maul using the Darkside, leaves the Jedi, and ends up as one of the Cuy'val Dar (aka the trainers for the clones on Kamino).

What's THAT SCENE for cuy'kaysh dar?
Thanks for the ask!!!
So, this one is actually two scenes, and they come up much later in the fic (and I’m so just wanting to speed up and get there haha)
**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR Cuy’kaysh Dar BELOW THIS READ MORE** with small parts of the two scenes that I keep thinking of while writing it (and have had the complete chapters for written for ages haha)
He shut off his pad and turned his attention back to the cadets, working through issues they were having in their training until a sudden surge in the Force had him dragging the security feed back up, his students crowding around him.
"Why is Fett fighting the jetii?"
Obi-Wan hid his grimace. "It must be a misunderstanding, Fives, they'll work it out."
He wanted to know how the fight went, but turned it off. Fett was good, better than Qui-Gon had been, and worry would get him nowhere.
***
And then here’s a very small part of the second one:
"One of those Jedi almost took off my head," Jango's hand came up to the beskgar gorget he'd added after hearing about Obi-Wan's Force-choking episode, "I have no interest in taking anymore chances. We're all-in now, Ben'ika."
