idk if i think gender is "a choice" or not (thinking abt it just gives me a headache) but i do think the idea of it being a choice would be less of a problem if culturally we had any respect for people's choices. like no i shouldn't need to justify anything. maybe it is true that i couldn't change this if i tried (have tried before). but that shouldn't matter. i chose this and that should be enough.

#POST #if you don't 'get it' that's cool but hinging all your respect on things that can be proven is just inhumane #especially when 'proof' as it's treated these days is so nebulous and generally opinionated #it's not about biological facts or statistical facts or anecdotes or anything it's about meeting some arbitrary #cultural standard of 'thing i can't argue with anymore' which doesn't mean anything wrt objectivity at all #you shouldn't feel compelled to argue it in the first place. whatever
