okay crazy idea but what if Lizard and Nugget did get married?

If the rescue party was just too late to saving her, and her and Nougat were legally married, it wouldn't change much. Luffy is still going to save her, and Lizard won't really view the marriage seriously since she never agreed to it. The Charlottes can complain all they like, Lizard isn't coming back. She's a pirate, she doesn't care about legalities that much.

Now in some insane situation where Nougat goes through a character arc, and not only gets on Lizard's good side, but also gets her to leave Koby for him? Literally no one accepts this. The Straw Hats all think she's been brainwashed or something. They keep crashing the attempted weddings because obviously she doesn't actually want this! She's being forced somehow! There is nothing she can say that will make them believe this is legit.

Crocodile is seething. He also has a hard time believing that this is real, but after seeing them together in person, he realizes that it is. He can see the love in Lizard's eyes as she looks at her fiance. He refuses to accept this.
