Not to be biased but why is it when someone is causing trouble in the sims community it's always coming from IMVU and SL creators?? Like, this isn't JUST about the @lindasims2 thing either. It's been like this for YEARS. I try not to talk inside baseball on Simnostalgia really because I have a lot of casual players but like...

Year after year the biggest stupidest drama is always IMVU and Second Lifers coming in with their crumpled meshes, overedited photos, and cringe 'instagram baddie' fashion that ages TERRIBLY and looks like dogshit in game. Flooding the CC market with asset flips and trying to monetize content creation while giving out unsolicited advice. It's garbage and not what our hobbyist community is about.

The problem is that we don't oppress users coming from MMO social games enough.

THE LINDASIMS2 RESEARCH AND EXPERIMENTATION: PART TWO

Alright, so far I haven't found any more 'game-breaking' stuff in the February 2021 and 'Old Content' folders. But I have found some stuff that is pretty... interesting?

DISCLAIMER: This is not really a callout post. This is a warning to anyone who intends to download Lindasim’s stuff. And a genuine one. I have nothing personal against Linda, this is only what I’ve found from my own deep dive into Linda’s files. I have no proof that what I’ve found is stuff that Linda herself did, but the stuff does exist. And it’s terrible.

This post is mostly about stuff that is 'broken' with Lindasims2's CC. I'm not an expert, but it did stand out to me.

FILE NAMES ISSUE

I got this error multiple times while trying to open some package files and had to change the names in order to open them. Conclusion: the file names are so long, so convoluted, that the game doesn't even load some of them. SimPE couldn't open them. Maybe it's my fault, maybe it's SimPE's, but... 🤦🏻‍♀️Creators, always remember to keep your file and folder names short!

RIDICULOUSLY HIGH POLY CLOTHING

This is a pajama mesh. For kids.

No words... but 31k polys? What?!?!

If your game can have a 150k hair and 31k poly pajamas on a child, I salute your wealth.

There's no attempt at lowering the polycounts for both clothing and hairs, to my knowledge... even objects weren't spared. I didn't get a screenshot but there's a 3k poly box of Kodex thrown in there.

SUMMARY

If you're using these files right now, I hope to the lord above you've compressorized them and don't use them on every single sim...

Re: The most recent dust-up regarding LindaSims2

On the one hand, thank you for taking the time to sort through the files, examine them in depth, and explain what's wrong with them and how badly they can fuck up your game.

On the other hand, if you're snubbing hundreds of free content creators to give your preference to a pay creator, you deserve exactly what you get and I have no sympathy for you. Pay content does not magically equate to quality content.

Also, the time and energy expended in this endeavor could have been better purposed by supporting/giving more exposure to actual, real, underappreciated folks, such as Digi, Fia, CatherineTCJD, Julie J, charmful, NixNivis, Snarf, balkopat, or a dozen others I can name off the dome. But instead it's a six-part expose about a pay content creator whose name has already been dragged through the mud.

Want to know the best way to get the community to stop supporting pay creators? Stop giving them money and exposure.

Moar Lindasims drama

I know you are probably tired from it, personally I am, but I can’t stay silent or polite any more. This became personal. I’ll skip the rest under the cut so don’t spam your dash with lots of text and photos.

So, what happened now? There is a Fans of the sims 2 community in vk.com, russian social network, and there is a WCIF album where people can ask for help in finding stuff. One person asked for Linda’s not so recent content and Linda answered that it is no longer for download but can be found at her Wix, after you pay her money, of course. Free stuff is for losers, we talk business here. And since WCIF album is public my dear friend @fakebloood provided link to @nomoresims2patreon where Linda stuff is available and free. The link was deleted because - you’re about to laugh, I promise - because author of content asked the administration to remove it because it breaks her TOU. Nice, huh? She can break TOU of sl and ts4 creators however she wants, but boo-hoo when someone does that to her. We told administration of the community, that Linda herself breaks TOU with no sign of remorse, and that she steal meshes and sells them. Linda was asked if thats true, and she answered, that she doesn’t sell anything in this community and the question is inappropriate and added that she by the way creates her own meshes and textures (with the ones she steals, yeah. That box of tampons is just as good as Doux hair, top notch, a masterpiece the world has never seen) Then one more funny thing happened. Some simmer asked for help because something was corrupting big dogs in their game and it turned out it was Linda’s male shirt that did it (big surprise, huh? Top quality creator enters the chat)

We had some fun and some arguments about that, Linda never responded to any more of our questions - neither mine, nor @fakebloood @entropy-sims or admins of FTS community about her top quality or about how a male shirt can corrupt dogs or how hair mesh file can contain a 165k poly of all kinds of crap, and then it happened. Thing, that triggered me to make this long post.

Linda made a post in her closed group of her subscribers and admirers (I was there before, she baned me after I reposted first post with her content for free here on tumblr. She also left a comment, that I’m a bad person and did a bad thing lmao). In her recent post she states that she is not responsible for stuff her subscribers download from shady links (hey, @nomoresims2patreon, you provide shady links lol) and that WE ARE CORRUPTING HER FILES to trash her good name and top quality meshes. Also that we are a bunch of no name creators that are just jealous and angry with her because she is such a top creator and we are a bunch of angry jealous losers. So, after I’ve spent the first few days of self isolation with trying to fix my beloved neighborhood Betterfield from crashing and purple flashing (again...), I realized nothing left for me, expect installing linux and see it might work... but before I move on to this next step, I wanted to create something at least.

@nikaonishko ♥ has so many wonderful 4t2 conversions, I’m always in love with them, and my teens are craving to have those. So I decided to convert some of them to practice (honestly I’ve learned a lot meanwhile!). Here they are...

@sinmenon​ I wasn’t trying to be a dick (honestly, I don’t have to put any effort into that at all; it just comes naturally). I was at work, and trying to articulate how frustrating the situation is to me in 15 minutes. I get how the original author feels that she’s doing valuable work in informing the community about the risks of downloading and installing Linda’s content, and somehow vindicating herself of what she perceives to be lies on Linda’s part about Sims2Packrat and NoMoreSims2Patreon sabotaging her downloads before releasing them. But forsooth, my once-fertile field of fucks now lays fallow, and I have no more fucks to give about this nontroversy.  My original point is that LindaSims2 should no longer even be a thing, and wouldn’t be if these drama bloggers would expend 10% of the energy that they put into trashing pay creators,  into supporting and appreciating the whole-ass community of free creators (who, as can be seen, actually care about the quality of content that they release). There are, like five or six “big names” here on the hellsite, and the rest of us, apparently, are chopped liver because no one will ever shout us out. Regardless, I appreciate your having taken the time to reply. Thank you.

Aw, that's a tough one. I literally used all my 4 gb of clothes to dress those ladies. I can't provide links now, it would take me forever to find them, but I can tell you names of creators whose content I used to dress the girls.
