My lovely partner is supportive of me in all my crafting endeavors and firmly believes I can make anything (I wish I was that confident), but sometimes also enables me in starting new types of crafts and buying a bunch of stuff for said new craft.

A while ago I mentioned how I tried getting into crochet but I was unmedicated at the time and my brain just couldn't wrap around it. He doesn't believe this and says I can totally crochet cause I can do anything. And to prove that he bought me a little beginner amigurumi kit from work for 1$. That was a few months ago and now I'm finally cracking into it.

Man this is rough. That's not even an actual picture on the front. All the instructions are written like you should already know what you're doing. It's very confusing to me but then again my brain is not good with written instructions. The weirdest thing is I don't understand why the fake picture on the front when in the instructions there is an actual picture of the finished product?!

So instead of following the instructions I'm going to be following a YouTube tutorial for a pattern that looks almost exactly the same.

Is the bullet journaling going well?

Yes, the journaling is going well. My book is getting BULK, which is funny most of the time. I went with a dark celestial spacey theme which is really fun. I got some stickers and some vintage scraps to really add to the vibe.

I forgot about some of the single sheets of paper I bought for the theme so I'll have to bring those out of storage. But the washi tape is so nice that I can't just stare at it.

I also received a gift of some washi tape and some stickers for an under the sea theme so I'm gonna include that pretty soon. I'm also thinking of making a poll for a few of the months or taking requests to make a theme out of, it would be fun.

Okay friends, I’m outsourcing some sewing and math advice because I have no clue what I’m doing here

^this is a pattern for a quarter circle skirt I’ve drafted (very roughly, as can be seen from whatever happened in the bottom left half of the paper). I have not yet bought fabric for this skirt. My questions are:

1) Should I buy fabric assuming it’ll be laid horizontally or vertically? I assume horizontal, as that would get me the most use of my fabric, but I feel like I should get confirmation on that one

2) how do I determine how much fabric I should buy? The skirt is (assuming I measured correctly) 35 inches tall, but I cannot figure out what math I should do to determine the length. I assume I’m measuring the bottom seam, as that’s the longest, but again there’s probably math involved there that I do not know how to do (or I’m overthinking this, in which case please wack me and tell me the simpler way to figure that out)

3) the internet says fabric is typically ~33-40 in. wide and however many yards long. (Assuming I lay the fabric horizontally,) Would I only need to buy the fabric at however many yards I end up needing and be able to cut the skirt in one piece, or would I need more fabric and cut it in two pieces?

to everyone who has been sending me dms, asking if i'm okay, reaching out and generally being fantastic: thank you. i admit, last night i got a bit overwhelmed between the block evasion tagging, the false accusations, and then people reaching out all at the same time, and i'm sorry for that. i'm sorry i left most of you on read, but really, you guys are amazing and i adore every single one of you.

given 10ths impending release inches closer, and we've gotten death guard leaks id figure id offer atleast some opinion. granted i am not an expert on the game but i am a big fan of mort.

. much like horus heresy 2.0, the changes here suggest to me an attempt on gws part to push the death guard into a more lore accurate playstyle if that makes sense. certainly a thing has been made about nurgle toughness in lore, but the actual tactics of the death guard have always relied on two main things; mass infantry and a willingness to eat casualties, their tough bodies being more an aptitude that made them predisposed to it. focusing on the plague aura and sticky objectives very much speaks to me that gw wants ya ta be fieldin lots of bodies in big blobs by designing their abilities to encourage those exact behaviours.

. that said, it comes at the cost of making them squishier in general and i feel that also goes against the spirit of what the death guard are. the kind of enemy that'll keep marching without a head. aptitude or not they are suppose to be tough bastards unwilling to go down easily.

. i feel like there coulda been a solid middle ground to go on here. ya could keep sticky objectives and the aura, just shuffle things around a bit. the poxwalkers are right there afterall, have them be the chaff horde ya rush ahead to get sticky objectives built into them but have the death guard marines themselves come in behind to either hold or mop up in smaller bundles. then ya could easily justify plopping a fnp onto the plague marines, and have the initial detachment throw a more interesting spin on things then just sticky objectives. have disgustingly resiliant be the detachment for instant, and then idk.. have the stratagem be a zombie themed one that lets ya raise a new poxwalker unit in the same spot a unit was destroyed [which could go either way, say raising replacement poxwalkers on that objective they got mulched on and the enemy now holds for a zombie landmine, or the cheeky route of raising one of your enemies slain units to hurl back in their face as zombies]
