37 | Make a Move

Once again the boys were back a home and Dani was with them of course. It's been a few days and at the moment the guys were out while Dani was at the house.

She was actually helping edit the video of them playing with toys till Marylou walked into the room. "What up?" Dani gives her a smile.

"I've heard from some little birds that you need an older figure to rant to." Marylou gives her a smile. Dani gets up from the computer rushing over to her to hug and cry into.

Meanwhile...

"Yeah, mom said she would do it. Help Dani out." Matt looks over at Chris.

"Shocker." Chris says sarcastically.

"Why is Dani not in car videos?" Nick reads off his phone, "Should we answer that for tomorrow's car video?"

"I don't think so." Chris says his opinion.

"Yeah, some will get the satisfaction thinking that they made her stop." Matt agrees not to bring it up as well.

Chris makes a face at that shaking his head, "But that's not even a reason."

"I think we should... Just say she's busy. that she'll be back. When she can." Nick thinks.

"We know the real reason." Chris says then looks over at Matt.

"Why did you look at me? You did it." Matt laughs at him.

"That was at the beginning of the month!" Chris turns his whole body to face him.

"You put her on the spot."

"Nick..." Chris asks for his help.

"You did. Right in front of her parents."

Chris rolls his eyes how he didn't have his back, "Since I'm not in the race, it's your turn." He tells Matt who looks at him in shock and speechless, "Shoot the shot."

"Uh, umm no." Matt laughs.

"There's no way that she doesn't have feelings for you. It's obvious to me now." Chris keeps going making Matt rub his face wanting him to stop.

When the guys get back home, their dad tells them Dani and their mom were still chatting and they were Matt's room. In reality, Marylou was running her hand through Dani's hair as she calms her crying down after their long talk falling asleep.

As Marylou slowly moves Dani grabs her hand, "Thanks mama." She whispers making Marylou smile.

"Night, sweetheart." She kisses the top of her head before leaving the room. Entering the living room she sees Matt on his phone. The other two have gone to their own rooms to get ready for bed. "She's falling asleep so don't be loud entering your room." She lets him know.

"Did it go well?"

His mom nods her head, "She really did need it. She even got me to cry at some point too." She chuckles a bit, "She's luck she has someone like you who cares about her."

"Well yeah, but Nick and Chris told you about it too." He puts his phone down.

"That's true but only you asked me to talk to her." She gives him a smile leaving him alone.

Matt gets up going to his room quietly getting ready for bed the tries not to wake Dani up as he gets in bed.

"Thank you." Dani says with her back facing him and her eyes were closed.

"Huh?" He stares into the darkness

"Your mom."

"Why do you say that was me?" He asks.

Dani rolls over to face him even though they couldn't see each other, "Only you would ask her to talk to me."

"The other two know how you feel too." He rolls over to face her too.

"They aren't you though." She smiles to herself, "Night." She rolls back over.

Since that night, Chris hasn't stopped bugging Matt about making a move and it was killing him. So for a week and a half and he kept sending him looks when he was around Dani. Even Dani could tell Chris was annoying Matt but she didn't know what a about.

Like today Matt and Dani were going out to run errands and on the way out Chris gave Matt a thumbs up who got a middle finger in return. As Matt enters his car Dani giggles waiting for him to notice what she did to him, "Did you seriously do that?" He looks in his backseat.

"Yes."

"I don't go mess with your car." He tells her so she rolls her eyes.

"You're overreacting."

"Am I?" He gives her a look.

"Oh wow, your backseat is full of pink balloons." She throws a sticker at him, "You did worse by betting Chris that he wouldn't ask me out."

"Sorry..." He looks out the window.

"Yeah... Why would you do that, honestly? Did you think I liked him?" She asks him.

"I don't know, I just didn't believe he would do it." He tells her truthfully, "Yet he did. My bad."

"I still feel bad for how it went." Dani thinks back.

"But he got over it quickly." Matt agrees.

"It just took us a week of awkwardly hi-ing each other at home. I feel like it would be completely different if it was like you who asked." Dani slips not even realizing as Matt smiles at her.

"Really?" He asks her.

"Huh?" She looks at him confused.

"If I ask you out, you would say yes?" He asks as she looks at him.

"I didn't say that." She shakes her head, "Where the hell did you get that?"

"You...just...said it." He can't help but smile more, "If it was like you."

Dani finally realizes she slipped so she awkwardly laughs, "Nahh, you heard it wrong." She laughs more as he just looks at her. "Hurry up and start the car because I gotta get stuff from the store." She tries to change the topic. Matt drops it for the moment but he was gonna go back to it to get an answer out of her.

As soon as they get to the store, Dani rushes to get out of the car to get some space between her and Matt. He laughs at her as he follows behind her.

"Stop laughing!" She shouts at him.

"Nah, I'm good!"

As they shop he kept pushing her buttons bugging the hell out of her, "Would you stop it?" She gives him a look.

"Would you just admit it you slipped up." He gives her the same look.

"No. Why do you care so much? So you can make fun of me?" She takes the cart from him to go check out.

Once they were back in the car, Matt starts it but doesn't drive off, Dani looks at him annoyed as he looks at her waiting, "I didn't mean it like at."

Matt turns to face her more leaning closer with a smile across his face, "I don't believe you."

"Stop it and stop looking at me like that." She whines.

"What if I say that I was too scared to ask you out because I didn't know how you felt about me and I didn't want to risk our friendship? That's why Chris did it because he knew I would never do it." Dani just looks at him, "I'm not joking around when I ask if you want to go out tonight?"

Dani turns her head to look out the window away from him, "I did say if you asked it would be different..." She looks back over to him and he smiles, "What do you have in mind for tonight?"

"I'm not telling you but that was a yes." He finally decides to drive, "But I'll pick an outfit out for you this time." Dani rolls her eyes as they head home.
