Once when i was little and staying the night at my grandma’s house, she was watching some true crime docs (we’re talking a late 90s/early 2000s one. not the modern oddly popular ones, so the Very Serious type of true crime) and me, small and six, was watching too, terrified out of my wits. It was the doc about a serial murderer who killed with packages left on doorsteps with bombs that killed a bunch of people who opened them thinking they got a gift from family or smth. I told my grandma that it was scary and she was like ‘No it’s not’ when it totally was and we kept watching it.
I was scared to open packages for years. I only just got over this when Amazon REALLY Became Huge. So most of my childhood and a good chunk of teen years.
Unknown packages are fuckin scary my guy. I’m not talking glitter bomb scary, but kill you and burn down your house scary.
#taks speaks#i'm still wary of non-amazon packages tbh#once my ex shipped something to my house and i basically shit bricks when it arrived bc he didn't tell me he was doing that#then proceeded to get me a bday gift with the same method. also causing a massive brick shitting session#boy doesn't learn i swear#you need to warn me dude#could've been a bomb ftlog#esp when its from an unknown company bc he decided to get something from the amazon warehouse deals which arent sent thru amazon#i order something and it comes discreetly from some nonexistent site like 'techtoys.com from minnesota'#and i literally go outside with a knife to open it carefully#and then im like 'oh that's what they meany by discreet'
