22 Years OONA Galerie: Berlin bis Ende Januar 2023

3,600-Year-Old Jewelry and Weapon Hoard Found Under Field in Czech Republic
Archaeologists used metal detectors to find the hoard, which includes several pieces of jewelry and weapons.
Archaeologists discovered a hoard of Bronze Age artifacts while doing routine survey work in a field in the Czech Republic.
The bronze objects — which include eight arm rings, two pins, eight axes and one spearhead — were found near Budyně nad Ohří, a town about 35 miles (56 kilometers) northwest of Prague, Radio Prague International reported.
Researchers estimate that most of the items, which they found using metal detectors, date to around 1600 B.C.
"Most items are characteristic of the Middle Bronze Age, with only one ax belonging to the earlier period," Martin Trefný, an associate professor at the Museum of the Říp Region and the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně and the curator of the hoard, said in an email. One ax is even older and dates to the Early Bronze Age.
"Axes could have been used as tools or weapons. The latter function also applies to the spearhead," Trefný said. "Bracelets were forearm ornaments, and pins served either to fasten clothing or, for example, to style women's hair."
Archaeologists remain unclear about why the hoard was buried, but they have proposed three possibilities.
Tumblr media
"In the first case, the hoards are presumed to have a votive function, meaning they served as offerings to deities," Trefný said. "In the second case, we speak of an economic function, where hoards are interpreted as, for example, storage for manufacturers of the given items."
Alternatively, the buried items could reflect "a crisis situation, where it was necessary to hide the items, for example, from enemies," he said.
The treasure could be worth "millions of crowns," Trefný told Radio Prague International. (One million Czech crowns, or koruna, is about $42,500.)
"All the items testify to the technological advancement of bronze casters and processors in Central Europe 3,500 years ago," Trefný told Live Science. "The composition of the hoard also contributes to understanding the warfare, craft techniques and contemporary fashion of the time. Considering that hoards might have a ritual significance, they can also reveal a bit about the contemporary religion."
In the "near future," these found items will be on display at the Podřipské Museum, located about 30 miles (50 km) north of Prague, Radio Prague International reported.

What are these doing here? Shibuichi silver bracelet
Landon Gunn
from the website: Shibuichi is an alloy of copper and silver. It is more like copper in the way it oxidizes.
"I have been interested in Japanese Arts and craftsmanship for a long time and Shibuichi is an interesting Japanese alloy. I technically wanted to see what it was like to engrave, and to see what interesting patina patterns/colours may emerge. Also, I think it has an interesting ancient history from being developed to adorn Katana swords, to its later uses in contemporary jewellery work and throughout the Japanese artistic tradition."

You've poated Jade corn ornaments twice now (maybe more, and I've missed it). Why are they a thing? They seem to be really well done, and I had always viewed Jade as being a gem with cultural significance.

During the Ming and Qing dynasties in China it was popular to carve jade into vegetable- or fruit-shaped ornaments, the most famous artwork being the 翠玉白菜Jadeite Cabbage and 东坡肉形石Dongpo Meat-shaped Stone, 白菜baicai/cabbage is a common carving subject because of its resonance with '菜cài=财cái=wealth' in the Chinese context. Chinese call these ornaments 文玩wenwan in general, meaning fine collectible traditional handicrafts, especially suitable for playing and appreciating in the hand. I feel like the contemporary jade or other gemstone ornaments continues this tradition with further innovation. Young people prefer ornaments made in richer mineral materials and brighter colors (light colors are more popular), and the themes are also diverse, not limited to traditional ones. I guess in young peoples' aesthetic, the jade corn is lovely in shape and roasted corn is a popular street food in china. Other contemporary pieces that young people like to collect include various other shapes, such as jade rabbits, 貔pixiu(mythical creature that brings fortune and wards off evil), 龙long(chinese dragon),  calabash, grape, fish, butterfly, crabs, flowers, guanyin, metteyya, the twelve shengxiao, and so on, some more traditional, some more contemporary. It's quite fun.
In addition, the Chinese believe that 玉yù/jade is spiritual(the Chinese word 玉yù actually refers to more than just jade, it can refer to jade-like stones in general but let's put it this way), so the Chinese have the habit of "nurturing jade", meaning that if you wear and play with your jade jewellery/ornaments by hand for a long time (the act of playing with it is called "盘pán"), it will become smoother and accumulate more lustre, bringing you a good energy field in daily life, thus you will have more luck. The Chinese also consider that if the jade ornament has been 开光kāi guāng (blessed by eminent 道士daoshi/daoist priest or blessed by eminent bhiksu or bhikkhunī/buddhist monks or nuns, usually with ceremonial process of chantting/intoning incantations), they will also help to protect you from mishaps and even disasters. Many Chinese women have the habit of wearing jade bracelets or red string weaved jade ornaments (jade bracelets are the type of smooth circular or beads bracelets).

Good morning or whenever, everynyan
Today I offer the thought of putting the kitsune trio in contemporary clothing
////
I feel like Fuyu would always have to wear either loose clothes or stuff that looks cropped because he can't find anything in his size
But Fuyu would probably prefer loose clothes anyway? Or at least it'd be familiar. I’m just imagining comfy bathrobes and fuzzy slippers for this guy
“Why are you looking at me like that? I am simply enjoying the pleasures of modern textiles…“
Haru in loose sweat gear (hoodie and sweatpants) would be pretty hot… I’m mostly imagining him wearing stuff I’ve seen guys wear at the gym, in terms of casual wear. Maybe he’d dabble in jewelry… Oh! And he could definitely rock a pair of ripped jeans, showing off his tattoos and all that
“So… what do you think? Ready to hit the town, gorgeous?”
And Aki can wear whatever he wants tbh
My first thought was a dress for some reason, but generally I imagine he'd wear like a snug muscle shirt and basketball shorts for ease of movement
I always think Aki wants to wear something that keeps his mobility due to his shenanigans
“Come look at this new outfit I bought, bunny! I look pretty cool, huh? ;)”
////
Also idk if their facial markings are makeup or tattoos or something. I know it’s meant to resemble traditional face paint so uh..
Maybe because they’re shapeshifters, they can kinda do whatever they want with their skin probably? Yeah, I like that
///
Bonus, my personal Natsu!
All the comfy sweaters and sweatshirts and pants, hoodies—anything. That man was out in the woods and living like a confused nomad for 200 years, he’s from the Summer Clan and he wants to be warm damnit!!!
He also may be a bit shy about his arm scars, but eventually I’d like to imagine him wearing oversized tshirts with his hair pulled up in a messy bun wearing his favorite beaded bracelet and some adidas slides. He’s my handsome boy!!!
Oh and also I think All of the Kitsune should wear skirts (I have long loose skirts in mind, but anything really) because I think that’d be cool and very gender of them

MGA wants to make Rainbow High a fantasy series now, fine.
But if they want me to give a rats ass they def gotta put in some effort for the fits cuz these are downright VILE
Tumblr media
So here are my ideas for the main girls Rainbow World (needs a better name) looks
Note: this was all highly inspired by Fairytopia
Sunny
Tumblr media
Sunny would be thriving in a fantasy land so she would look absolutely whimsical. I got the idea for flowers from her Fantastic Fashion dress and had the idea of her hair having tons of flowers in it (and also her having a more textured hairstyle)
Jade
Tumblr media
I imagine this outfit for Jade but with leaves (cuz butterflies are Poppy's thing). Even in a fantasy world she would look delightfully edgy (like a fairy living in the Mad Max world).
Ruby
Tumblr media
I was originally gonna give her a ladybug motif until I remembered that fire kinda was a thing for her and so went with this. She would have a flame bustier with a skirt that looks burnt up and Ruby's jewelry would also feature dragons in it for more of a fantastical vibe (she would also have her beach hair cuz I like the look)
Amaya
Tumblr media
Skyler
Guess what inspired this look? I imagine Amaya's hair upgrading from white to silver and the rainbow in it becoming pastel and tied into low pigtails (I also saw someone say that Amaya's hair should've changed for every look a la Ramona Flowers and I agree). She would wear a rainbow gingham dress with a big flouncy skirt and a corset paired with rhinestone heels and the look becomes even sweeter with a locket choker and basket purse (fun fact: I was originally gonna style Bella with this look before realizing it would suit Amaya way better)
Tumblr media
Skyler ofc keeps her denim even in a fantasy land. Originally I was gonna double dip and give her a denim butterfly top until I found the angel wing one which suited her perfectly (her skirt would also feature it too). I also remembered one of Skyler's motifs being moons and so incorporated that into her necklace, earrings, and hair clips with even some stars too. Her purse would also be a crescent moon with a constellation pattern on it. Skyler would also wear a long ruffled jacket with a skinny scarf and wear some ankle length boots (she's giving Bloom from Winx Club)
Violet
Tumblr media
She's a lot more contemporary compared to everyone else (think like Bratz Fashion Pixies) and because of her Jr High look I just felt like she needed to look like an early 00's Disney Channel character. I also double dipped and gave her a star motif. She would wear those purple pants and ruffle belt with a star pattern on the legs with a long sleeve shirt with ruffles on the wrists with a tank top layered over it along with a fur trimmed jacket. She would also have a wacky Y2K hairstyle.
Bella
Tumblr media
After I gave Amaya her original look I thought of giving her a motif like I did for Sunny, Jade, and Ruby + I was originally gonna give a pearl motif to Violet and so I went with that for Bella. I imagine her in a velvet outfit adorned with pearls with pantyhose boots in the same color and fabric studded with pearls and pearls chains on them. Her jewelry ofc features lots of pearls with even her headband being all pearls.
Poppy
Tumblr media
Poppy has the best motif for a fantasy world so I went heavy into that. I imagine Poppy would have her hair pulled back with a big butterfly claw clip that could be seen even from the back and I wanted her whole outfit to give fairy. She would wear tons of butterfly bracelets all over her arms and have a butterfly ring on each hand with her heels also doing the same. I wanted her to have a mini skirt with a long piece on it to flow whenever she moved with a butterfly chain belt and ofc she deserved a butterfly top so I wanted her to have the most detailed one I could find (giving fairy warrior). Her jewelry would ofc feature tons of butterflies and I found the perfect purse for her (yes it's also a butterfly).
