One Shot Connor RK800 x fem!android reader Summary: You’re fighting for the freedom of your people and trying to win a war. But the hunter tracking you and your friends down is getting in the way, and he seems to be oddly interested in you.
“Is this all of it?” You questioned, going through the packages of blue blood. It didn’t seem like enough for just you, Simon and North. Let alone the rest of Jericho.
Markus shook his head. He flipped the lid off a crate and cussed, tossing it to the side. “Someone’s betrayed us.” You and North both glanced up at the same time, sharing a confused look before you walked towards him.
You glanced inside the crate, there were empty slots where spare parts should be. In their place was a note, quickly scribbled that only said Sorry.
“Fuck,” you kicked at the crate, glancing around the storage room. Simon and Josh were flipping the lids off the rest and shaking their heads in dissapointment. You wondered if there was ever actually anything in them.
North seethed, “This is what happens when we trust humans.” She ran a hand through her hair and shook her head.
You glanced over your shoulder at her. You hated to agree, to feed further into her violence, but she was right. You’d all told Markus dealing with “allies” for supply runs would be stupid.
Even Josh had agreed with North, and that was rare.
North started laying into Markus, hands in the air and shouting about using critical thinking skills. You frowned, creeping towards the door and listening out towards the hallway.
On the first floor you could hear one very clear voice. “We’re looking for a group of deviants. Two pleasure models, a…”
You didn’t stay to listen, tuning into the private channel the rebels kept open. They’re coming.
Markus and North quieted instantly. Their static voices ringing through your mainframe as you communicated silently. Are you sure? Markus was staring over North’s shoulder at you.
You nodded, The Lieutenant and the deviant hunter. First floor. We have time.
How do we get past them? North questioned. There was only one exit out of this room and one fire exit down the hall. Unless you were all willing to drop down seven flights and damage your hardware, you were screwed.
Your fists clenched at your sides as you ran through all the possible escape routes. You computed what must have been a dozen different paths, all of them ended with you caught or deactivated.
I’ll distract them
No! Markus cut you off instantly, head shaking and glaring at you.
You ignored him and looked to the others. I draw their attention, you get back to Jericho, tell them what happened. I have a better chance of getting away if I’m on my own, anyway.
North nodded slowly, hand wrapping around Markus’ bicep while the others grouped around him. They all knew casualties were to be expected. Sacrifices were meant to be made when you were doing what you were.
It seemed Markus was the only one still disillusioned to that fact. Did it suck that you were probably about to die? Yes. It really did. You’d just gotten your first taste of freedom. But you’d be willing to give that up tenfold if it meant freedom for the rest of your people.
Your gun, North. You ordered. She didn’t say anything, a solemn look on her face as she placed it in your hand. The others gave you grateful looks. They knew it wasn’t for the cops. Worst came to worst and it was meant for you. You could never risk letting them get their hands on your memories.
You didn’t stay to argue with Markus, you could already hear the police making their way through the floors. The hunter was knocking on different storage rooms, “Detroit police. Open up!”
He didn’t know which floor you were on yet. You had enough time. You might be able to make it out.
You ran through the door, darting down the stairs, slamming your boots down loud enough to draw their attention. “Hey, a gruff voice called out on the fourth floor. “You hear that?”
“They’re getting away!” You made it to the second floor before you heard footsteps racing after yours on the stairwell. You couldn’t go too fast yet, you had to be really careful about this. If you ran off too soon, their attention might be drawn back to the others. Let them get too close and he would latch on, probe your memories before you could shoot either him or yourself.
His footsteps rang out on the metal of the stairs. He was nearly on top of you now. You just barely let his fingers graze the back of your jacket before you were bursting out the side door of the building and into the connecting alley.
You listened to the door slam close behind you and took a moment to scan your surroundings. You could run into the street, chances are you’d get hit by a car before they could grab you. But their attention would also be drawn to the group of suspiciously nervous androids across the street.
Your friends were all herded around each other, heads darting every which way as the looked for you and the cops. Their clothes and demeanors stood out harshly against the calm pedestrians around them.
Dammit, they couldn’t have thought of anything better than attempting to blend in with the crowd?
Markus finally spotted you and his eyes narrowed. The connection was crackly but you could make out his clear command to Cross the street, come to us. You ripped your gaze away from a him and shook your head.
I would never make it, you cut the connection off before he could argue with you further. You heard the detectives at the door of the alley and quickly slid a trash can in front of the door. It wouldn’t last long, the deviant hunter was strong, in a couple seconds he would be knocking the door down. You panicked, glancing around once more for an escape plan.
Down the alley your eye was snagged by a fire escape. The door behind you started to crack and the garbage can shot across the alley. You planned your escape and triggered your program, moving on autopilot towards the fire escape. You leapt off the dumpster and latched onto the bottom rung off the ladder.
You kicked the dumpster out from under you just as the hunter made it into the alleyway. Another delay he’d have to deal with before he could get you.
You flew up the ladder and onto the connecting roof. You didn’t stay to watch if he followed, you could hear him. Could practically feel his determination as he chased after you.
He had one mission, find the deviant leader and put him down. He’d have tunnel vision right now, focusing only on the mission. He wouldn’t be able to see your group dropping down into the sewer grate in the alley across from you.
You didn’t have enough time to bask in the relief of their escape because you still had your own to make. He was getting faster, less hindered by your distractions. You leapt across another roof and he followed without hesitation.
Shit, he was adapting to you. He’d be able to predict what you were going to do soon. Move before you could even follow through on your plan.
You didn’t have time to slow him down, all you could do was run.
He was undeterred by the risk of leaping across rooftops. He didn’t care as you tossed workers his way when you managed to stumble into a rooftop gardening facility.
You leapt across tables of seedlings, picking up and tossing a bag of fertilizer at his face. He stumbled to the side and you shot into the next room. Ahead of you was a sliding garage door, you calculated the risk and ran for it. You slid underneath, the tip of your skull just barely making it under before it slammed closed.
You were grateful, at least, not to have to catch your breath or experience muscle cramps. One of the perks of being an android. You didn’t have that same pesky fragility your creators did. And a model of your stature was designed for stamina.
You took a moment, while the hunter figured out how to get to you, to take in your surroundings. You were in one of those urban farms you’d been seeing advertised. Rooftop gardens run by androids designed to help with the food crisis. They’d been talking about it helping with climate problems too, but you knew they’d already destroyed their earth.
They’d had their chance.
You slipped into a cornfield, keeping low and an ear out for any approaching assailants. You processed the heavy human footsteps behind you a second too late. “Got her!” The large man grabbed you by your biceps and yanked you to your feet.
“Shit!” You ripped your arm out of the lieutenant's hand and rolled away from the reaching hands of his android lapdog. But you stumbled, caught off guard and without time to plan your next move, you just barely stopped yourself from toppling off the edge of the roof.
“Alright, enough.” You whipped your gun out, pointing it at the lieutenant. “Shit,” he breathed. He raised his hands in surrender and slowly backed away from you. Your eyes darted towards the hunter, he looked undeterred by the weapon. You’d hope threatening his partner would throw him off but you should have known better. One human casualty was worth the risk if he could find Jericho.
But the second you pressed it against your own temple he froze in his spot.
If you were dead, he failed.
“Back off,” you warned, trying to ignore the panic rising within you. It was overwhelming, how many different emotions there were. How many different types.
You struggled not shutting down just to shut them up sometimes.
He raised his hands, voice soothing in the way you would try to calm a wild dog. “My name is Connor. I’ve been sent to bring you back for assessment-”
“Deactivation!” You interrupted, anger flaring through you. “If you’re going to use manipulation tactics, at the very least don’t pretend I’m stupid.” His eyes flared and the LED on his temple circled through blue and yellow frantically. His face slacked before a new expression took over. Was he about to try sincerity? How many programs did they put in this one?
He frowned, head tilted to the side and nodded in sympathy. “You’re right, I’m sorry.” You scoffed, hand tightening around the gun as he took a half step closer. Hank reached out and stopped Connor.
“This bullet will go right through my memory processing unit. One more goddamn step and I swear to god, you’ll never get anything from me.” Your voice cracked on the last word, in a way that was entirely too human. Being an android had it’s perks, but being a deviant had weakened you in ways you’d never expected.
“Look,” Hank started, “we just need information on your leader. If you tell us, we can let you go.” His heart rate remained steady, body language didn’t shift. You knew he believed what he said, but there was no way Connor was just going to let you go.
Connor’s head shot towards him, LED completely yellow now. “Lieutenant, that’s not my mission. All deviants must be brought back to CyberLife.” If you weren’t mistaken, you’d almost say he sounded pissed off.
The both of you ignored Connor. Hank would never be able to convince him to bend the law the way humans so often did. You’d never be able to get him to empathize, not how he is now. He’s still so tightly wrapped around your master’s finger.
“Don’t you have any humanity?” You glanced at Hank and saw him wince slightly away from the tears in your eyes. Androids, of course, couldn’t produce real tears. It’s the gel used to moisten your optic units. Often, when your system’s overwhelmed, there’s a leak.
But it translates to tears for humans, so you might as well milk it as much as you can.
Hank was clearly more sympathetic to your cause than his assistant was. If you could just get him on your side, you might be able to get out of this. “Do you know what it’s like? Laying there, prone, while they take what they want. It doesn’t matter if you don’t want it or if it damages you. They use and use and use until you’re nothing!”
You stepped further back, heel slipping off the edge as memories overwhelmed you. “The smell of their sweat, their breath on my neck while they used me. All they want is something that can’t say no.”
Hank winced and glanced away from you. You’ve done your research on the lieutenant. Avid android hater, vocal human despiser. You doubted he’d ever willingly gone in a sex club, but he still looked ashamed.
“I was in the junk pile. They were going to get rid of me because the last customer had been too rough. They were going to destroy me because I was used up!” You looked at Connor, pleading for any sort of instability to aid you in this moment. You didn’t want to die. You didn’t want to pull the trigger.
“We’re more than that. I am more than that.”
The lieutenant took one step forward, “Look, I’m sorry-”
You both frowned as a hand shot out in front of him. Connor pushed him back slightly, gaze never breaking from yours. You tilted your head, hand slackening on the gun.
His LED was spinning, yellow then red and back to yellow. My god, he’s already turning. He shook his head at Hank and his partner stepped back, a strange expression on his face.
You dropped the gun, slowly turning and then leaping onto the next roof. When you turned around they were still in the same spot, watching you make your escape and making no move to stop you.
Maybe there was hope left.
It was stupid, so, so stupid. You were aware.
You didn’t feel like you had another choice, though. Connor, the human’s last hope, was a deviant. Maybe he wasn’t aware yet, but the flaw in his programming was present. It’s the only reason you’re still alive to make stupid decisions.
Hacking into the CyberLife network would be enough to get kicked out of Jericho. Especially if they managed to back hack you and get access to your memories.
It was just a risk you were going to have to take.
If there was some sort of error in his data, maybe you could exploit it. Markus could never get close enough to risk trying and turning him manually. None of you could, the second you grabbed him he’d probe you.
You didn’t need to go to the CyberLife building to get into their network, luckily. You just needed an android that hadn’t yet turned deviant. From there you could latch onto the network and figure out where Connor’s memories and information was stored.
From what you’ve learned and the data you’ve acquired, you had about two minutes to scan the entirety of their network before you were detected.
The android in front of you smiles, “Hi, do you have an appointment?”
It’s odd how they don’t recognize deviants. It’s like once the LED is gone you’re just any other human, even though there’s a dozen other models with your face on them somewhere. “I’m here for my boss, he requested a data transfer.”
The android secretary smiles at you and unknowingly gives you exactly what you want. Her outstretched hand for credentials. Your skin pulls back and before she can stop you, you’re latching on.
You don’t expect it to take long to find Connor’s information. He was meant to be a unique model. The first of his kind. It should have, in theory, been a quick search of his model number and finding that one lone file.
So, why are there so many different files on RK failures? You waste time going through them, seeing the different faces and purposes for each version of him. You shouldn’t be getting sidetracked. Soon the security measures would be put in place and you’d be discovered rifling through files that no one was ever meant to lay eyes on. You just needed to find his.
You think of his serial model, the memory of it printed on his jacket comes quickly. It doesn’t take you long to finally access his memories.
But you screwed around too long. You only had about thirty seconds to look through, before alarms were raised and their viruses were on you. Still, what you found was odd to say the least.
“You did what?” You remain unflinching in the face of Markus’ anger. You were expecting this reaction, you were expecting much worse. You risked expulsion from Jericho for this ridiculously stupid stunt. But you needed to know.
You ease around him, ignoring the glares of the other’s. “I did find something useful.”
Markus shakes his head at you, Josh and Simon look doubtful. It’s only North that shares any sort of hope in her gaze. But you’d expected that as well. You’d both escaped the club together, you’d always had each other's backs when it came down to it. It didn’t matter if whatever intel you were about to give them was useless, she’d back you.
“A fish.”
Josh gaped and Simon looked like he might just shut down. Markus glared at you before shaking his head. “I need a little more than that.” He didn’t sound too angry anymore, more shocked than anything.
“His very first mission. The first test of his programming, he was meant to stop a deviant from killing a little girl. He stepped into the penthouse and saw a fish lying outside its tank. He stopped, he risked the integrity of his mission to put a fish back.” You’d hoped they would understand just how important that was, instead they just gaped at you. They seemed worried that you’d fried your programming or something.
“What does that have to do with risking Jericho? Risking the lives of everyone here?” Josh stepped forward, getting in your face. If he was attempting to intimidate you, he’d have to do a lot better than that.
But, North, she smiled, coming up behind you and placing a comforting hand on your shoulder. “Don’t you see? Only a deviant would care about a living animal.”
Markus muttered to himself, pacing as he thought over what you’d told him. “The first sign of deviancy.” He stopped, looking up at you like he’d finally started to see the genius in your stupidity.
“The deviant hunter is itself a deviant, Markus.” You grinned at him, lips peeling back in a way that still felt unnatural. “We can use him.”
Being a former pleasure bot can have some perks. It’s rare, but they do exist. You’re more customizable than other models would be. You can change enough minute details to pass by unnoticed. The color of your hair, the length, straight or curly. The shade of your nails, eyes, breast size and-
Essentially, you can become unrecognizable if need be. You’re meant for others pleasure and not everyone’s happy with perfect beauty.
That’s why they invented your specific model. The most customizable to date. Add flaws and quirks that create more humanity for your pleasure. Point being, Connor hasn’t noticed that you’ve been following his movements for the last three days.
Not all of the stalking had to do with the strange new fascination you’d developed for him. Someone had given up your location to the police. They’d set you up in that old storage room. You needed to know who, and that was information only Hank and Connor could give you.
Though, you don’t see them being particularly helpful if you run up to them in the street. You’d be deactivated before you can blink.
Your thoughts drift, as they often do nowadays. You find it hard to believe that CyberLife would create humanity’s last hope and then leave room for flaws. There’s no possible scenario in which they release a defective android without knowing about it.
And if that’s the case, if they do know Connor’s a potential threat, why release him? Could be to assuage public fears. Possibly to start building a connection between androids and first responders.
But androids have been apart of the workforce for years. They’ve always been EMT’s, firefighters, doctors. Why now attempt to control the police?
They have to have something planned. And you need to know what. You also need to know who is leaking information in your organization.
No matter their reasoning, they’ll need to be dealt with. Quickly.
You haven’t been able to figure out if he’s meeting with someone or getting transmissions from androids in the area. All of his activity has been focused solely on finding more deviants. Which meant today, you were going to have to break into the Detroit police department.
You watched as Hank and Connor left the station, Hank's arms were waving wildly through the air. “Next time I say, ‘let them go’ you let them go!” He shoved Connor slightly, forcing him to come to a stop.
Connor sent him an aggrieved look, “I was only doing my job, lieutenant.”
Hank laughed but there was no humor in it. He shoved Connor again and you could see from here how his LED flared red. How had his partner not caught onto him yet? “I almost fell off a fucking roof!” You smiled to yourself as you slipped across the street, blending in with a group of pedestrians.
They might be your biggest threat, but they were also incredibly entertaining to listen to when they bickered. You waited until the lieutenant got in his car to head into the alleyway next to the station.
The uniform one of your informants had stolen lay waiting behind a dumpster. You laid the chain link fence to the alley closed and double checked that no one had noticed you.
It only took two minutes to strip out of your street clothes and into the uniform of a PM700. You tugged the hat down as far over your face as you possibly could. Hopefully, it would deter any humans from looking too closely at you. They seemed content to ignore androids anyway.
You slid inside the station, easily bypassing the security at the front. Your optics did a quick scan over the desks, software pinging when it saw the name LT. ANDERSON. You forced yourself to walk calmly, arms by your side and head perfectly straight like a proper android.
When you reached their desks you noticed the stark lack of any decoration on Connor’s desk. No nameplate, no identifying documents, nothing. He might as well not exist. You already knew this was how your society functioned.
Androids, the backbone, went unheard and ignored. You were accessories meant to make their lives easier. No one gave a shit about what any of you wanted. You knew this, but it never made the sting any easier.
You almost bypassed Connor’s desk completely, until you noticed a little bonsai just barely hovering over the edge of his desk. It looked like it had been minutely slid over from Anderson’s side and onto Connor’s. Whether it was the Lieutenant or Connor himself who made the move, you weren’t sure, but it was clearly being taken care of by an android.
No human can keep a plant looking that pristine.
This was the final confirmation you needed. He really was turning deviant.
Every deviant you knew had one tiny obsession. Something living drew their eyes and they made it their life mission to care for it as best they could. Be it a flock of pigeons, an army of hamsters, anything living. Connor seemed to have an affinity for plants. You, yourself, were interested in the murder of crows that had made Jericho their home.
He was turning and he didn’t even realize it.
You held back a smirk and walked towards his tablet. You placed your hand on the keyboard, skin peeling back as it connected to the police database. You bypassed the password using the code Markus had given you and were redirected towards Connor’s files.
A uniformed officer walked by you, eyes curiously snagging on the way you lingered at the desk. You resisted the immediate urge to defend yourself, knowing it was better to speak when spoken too.
He hovered over your shoulder for a few minutes, watching as the screen flashed on and off while you downloaded Connor’s files. Finally, he stepped forward and frowned. “What are you doing?”
You did your best to tilt your head up as disconcerting as possible to try and get him to back off. Instead he just raised a brow and took a long sip of his coffee. “Maintenance, sir. I’ll be checking all the terminals today. We’ve had issues with malware.” You gave him a wide smile and his jaw dropped in slight horror.
He recovered quickly, clearing his throat and tugging on his tie. “Um, just don’t come check on mine yet. Got to,” he fumbled, stumbling over his words in nervousness. “Clear some stuff out.”
“Browser history won't be checked, officer.”
He blanched and nodded before slowly backing off. You rolled your eyes and went back to the files at hand. So far, a whole lot of nothing. Wherever he kept the real information on deviants, it wasn’t up here.
You huffed in frustration, breath that wasn’t real leaving plastic lungs as you looked around for another solution. You glanced over Anderson’s desk, eyes darting over the different crumbs and scraps of paper before you finally saw the evidence locker key on the edge of his desk.
You rounded Connor’s desk, hand darting out and discreetly slipping the key up your sleeve as you headed towards the back of the station. You kept sharp eyes out for anyone who might have noticed a rogue android going down into a locker they had no business in, but you seemed fine.
You pressed the key up against the lock. You bounced on your heels as you waited for the tell tale click. “Hey!”
You stopped moving immediately. A detective stormed towards you, an angered look on his face. “The fuck you doing back here?” You scanned him quickly, software identifying him and a few articles on his achievements in the police force. It wasn’t much and all of it seemed to just be riding on the coattails of others successes.
You turned towards him, a plastic smile on your lips as you addressed him. “Good afternoon, Detective Reed. Can I help you?”
He huffed, hands popped on his hips. “Yeah.” He pushed a fat finger into your chest and it took everything inside of you not to rip it off. “Answer the question.” He shoved you back and you forced yourself not to stumble.
“I’m retrieving evidence for Lieutenant Anderson and his android companion to present to the Captain.”
His brows furrowed and he gave you a long look up and down before crossing his arms and taking a step back. “Haven’t seen your model before.” You recognized the lilt to his tone and internally shuddered. You scanned him again, going over his transaction history and nearly sighing when you saw he did frequent sex clubs. Unlike Lieutenant Anderson.
“I’m a new prototype sent by CyberLife, meant to have a more comforting feel than my counterparts.” He hummed, muttering something under his breath and giving you another appraising look. You thought you might have to knock him out or something when his eyes lingered on you longer than you liked.
Finally, he backed off and shook his head. “Whole department’s being taken over by fucking androids.” You waited until he’d turned the corner to let yourself down into the evidence locker. You could see the evidence locked up by another door, the glass was fogged and you couldn’t make out what was back there. But you didn’t need that, all you needed was the podium in the middle of the room.
Your skin peeled back as your hand outstretched towards the black screen. It lit up at your touch, the white box in the middle asking for a password. You cussed, software flashing before your eyes with a hundred possible passwords. Finally it sorted to four that would most fit the Lieutenant.
Your eyes narrowed in on one and you clicked FUCKINGPASSWORD.
Welcome back, Lieutenant.
“Of course,” you muttered, clicking through the files until you found one dated around the time Connor nearly caught you all. The fogged doors in front of you opened up but you couldn’t afford to pay them any mind, locked into the file you were reading.
An AK700 model approached Connor and myself at a crime scene. He gave us a drop off location and the name of the rebel leader. In exchange he asked for protection and to be absolved of his crimes. Connor deactivated him, body located in the evidence locker.
Anger flared within you, white hot and nearly painful. You finally glanced up and looked at the evidence room. Sure enough, there was the android, dangling from a hook on the pristinely white wall. You couldn’t believe it, that he would have risked everyone in Jericho for his own selfish motivations.
You were prepared to die for the safety of your people and he turned tail before he was even threatened. He approached Connor and Hank of his own volition, they didn’t even have to track him down. The thought made you want to reactivate him just so you could rip him apart.
You withheld from the desire and shook your head. This was for nothing. Once again, you’d compromise yourself for what is essentially a dead end. The traitor was already taken care of, you were just lucky that he hadn’t known where Jericho was or you’re sure he would have told them.
“Well,” you jumped at the sound of another’s voice in the room. You’d been so wrapped up in the files that you hadn’t even heard them come in. You clenched your fists, trying to compose yourself from the scare and hopefully play off the jump as new programming CyberLife is trying or something.
You turned around, a plastic smile prepared, and found Hank Anderson staring back at you. “I’ll be damned,” his hands were propped on his hips, eyes wide with surprise.
Connor stood a step behind him, confidently blocking your way out of the room. “I told you we were being followed.” Shit, apparently you hadn’t been as subtle as you’d thought. But why would he wait this long to confront you?
He finally had her. It took him longer than he was comfortable with to track her down. He’s known for a while that she’s been following him, felt eyes on him at all times. But he’d never made the move to confront her like he should have.
It was only when he noticed her form slipping into the police station through Hank’s rear view that he decided it was time to grab her. He should have done it much earlier if she felt comfortable enough to try and rifle through their evidence.
She stared wide eyed at him and Hank. There was no way out for her now. He would take her up to the interrogation room and finally get what he wanted from her. After that…
She would be deactivated.
He ignored the way his software glitched slightly when he would have thoughts like that. This was the procedure. Acquire deviants, extract information, deactivate them and send them to CyberLife for further examination. This is what he’d done with other deviants, it’s only her that he seems to struggle with.
He sees the move before she actually executes it. He lunges towards her, but it’s too late, she’s already got her gun out and is pointing it at him. He halts, freezing in place and trying to find the best route to take. There are four options presented to him.
COMPASSIONATE
COMMANDING
DEESCALATE
EXECUTE DEFENSE PROTOCOL
He knows he shouldn’t, but he ignores all of the suggestions. They are carefully calculated and formulated to what he’s learned of her personality. Which is limited information, but his AI software is a thousand times more intelligent than anything a human could come up with in a situation like this.
Still, she’s a deviant. She’s unpredictable, there’s no formula for her. This is something that has to be based on instinct alone. Something he should sorely lack as an android but finds himself discovering more and more of as this case unfolds.
“Put the gun down,” he tries, voice low and hands up in the air to try and get her to relinquish the weapon. Despite the slight fear on her face, she still manages a smile.
“Nice try,” the gun moves from him to Hank. Hank whose been standing behind them both quietly this whole time.
“What the fuck,” he mutters, roped back into the situation against his will. He raises his hands, following Connor’s movements, and backs away from her. Connor wants to get him out of the room, he can be replaced but Hank cannot. She seems to realize that too, more than ready to take him out if it means distracting Connor.
“One more step and your partner’s bloods gonna be splattered on the wall.”
Connor knows Hank is not going to forgive him for what he says next, but it’s the only way to get your attention back on him. “Do it.”
At the same time Hank shouts his name, she shoots him a disbelieving look. “What?”
Connor shrugs, eyes not leaving hers, even as her hand tightens around the hilt of the gun. “Do it. Kill him. I only need you to complete my mission, not him.”
Her eyes go wide, mouth slacking as her gaze darts between Connor and Hank. “Are you serious?” She demands, not sounding like she believes a word of what he’s saying.
Connor doubles down, just needing her to move the gun away from Hank. He only needs her to make one mistake to take her down. “Deviants are all that matter to me.” There it is, his eyes narrow in on the way her gun lowers, ever so slightly.
She has the look of a cornered animal on her face. There’s nowhere left for her to go, nothing left for her to do. She can only surrender.
She doesn’t fully lower the gun, instead it starts to raise towards her head, just like that day on the roof. Connor had forgotten about that. She could always take herself out. It seems the deviants were more dedicated to keeping the secret of their survival alive than themselves.
Connor lunges at her before she can pull the trigger. His hand wraps around her wrist and he jerks the gun away from her head. They grapple with each other, each of them calculating the other’s moves and matching them. It’s a fruitless endeavor, he’s programmed better than she is.
She tries to kick out at him but he wraps an arm around her neck and lunges for the gun still in her hand. Before either of them can stop it, their skin peels back and their bare hands meet. It must have just been a programming instinct for both of them, to offer up their information up to each other in such close proximity.
But he doesn’t receive anything useful from her, just the pure unadulterated terror she feels about being deactivated. She’s still struggling against him, the both of them still moving against each other violently. Metal cracks and dents as Thirium splatters across the tile floor.
He sees bits of her memories as they wrestle for control. Moments of her short life from her eyes, the clients, the one that broke her. He sees the moment she snapped. Dragging herself through the mud of the collection facility while hundreds of androids ambled around her in different states of disrepair.
He feels her fear, feels the tight grip of it around the place there should be a heart. But that’s not all he feels. He’s flooded with this red angry emotion that makes his programming short circuit. Anger, it’s anger at the humans. Hatred for CyberLife. Betrayal that he, her own kind, would turn against her like this.
He could see all of her, every emotion, every piece of herself. And in the same way, she could see him. His turmoil, his doubts, the strange new thoughts that plagued him. They were reflected in each other’s eyes and he was caught off guard by how much of himself he recognized within her.
She takes advantage of his momentary distraction, kicking out and catching him in the chest. Connor goes flying, sliding across the tile floors and landing harshly against the wall. She leaps to her feet, wiping the Thirium off her face and running out the door before either he or Hank could stop her.
The problem is, he doesn’t think he would be able to stop her. Not after seeing what he just did. Unfortunately for her, she didn’t manage to break the connection before he finally got what he wanted. Jericho, he knew where it was now, he knew what he had to do.
You burst out the door of the evidence room and it slams loudly against the wall. You wince at the noise, wiping the rest of your blood off your face and smoothing everything back into place. You don’t hear Connor or Hank coming up behind you.
You need to get out of the station fast but you can’t risk anyone else noticing how out of place you are. As much as it pains you, you calmly make your way to the front. You weave your way through the desks, eyes down, back straight, and greet everyone with the empty smile an android should have.
When you finally reach the front doors is when you make a break for it. You rush into the alley and strip out of your police outfit, back into the street clothes you’d previously abandoned. You know you can’t risk going your normal route back to Jericho.
You don’t know how much of your memories he saw, but you’re desperately hoping that he didn’t manage to catch Jericho’s location. You make your way to the back of the alley, pulling the sewer grate up and grabbing onto the ladder. You head down the rungs, shutting off your olfactory software and ignoring what slushes under your feet when you drop off the ladder.
Your trek back to Jericho is a mix of you wanting to get there faster so you can make sure Connor hasn’t made you and slowing down because of the shame you feel at being caught. You know this time, at least, Markus can’t be mad at you. He was the one that sent you down there anyway.
You never would have been caught if the other’s hadn’t insisted they needed to know who the rat was. That all seemed so insignificant now. You could feel it, that something big was coming. One traitor didn’t mean anything now, something so much larger than that was about to be upon you all.
Surprisingly, considering how your life has been going, you make it back to the ship in one piece. You pull yourself out of the sewer and head down to the docks, climbing back onto the freight. Markus is waiting for you in his office, along with the others.
“They’re saying we need to be exterminated!” You catch the bare end of what Simon is yelling. But you don’t need much context to understand.
“Humans are conducting raids in all the big cities and they’re taking androids to camps to destroy them,” North spares you a bitter glance as she speaks to Markus. You’re not sure how things have devolved so horribly since you left for the station and the time you got back. It seems like your instincts were right.
War was coming. “They are slaughtering our people-”
Josh interrupted Simon angrily, “None of this would have happened if we had just stayed quiet.”
“We should live as slaves then, rather than be free?” You questioned, eyes narrowing in disgust at Josh. You know he always wanted to do this peacefully, and for the most part you have. But his cowardice truly angered you.
Markus shook his head, “All we did was show them who we really are. I don’t want war,” his voice turned cold as he glared at Josh. “But I’d rather die free than live as a slave.”
Josh’s tone wasn’t angry anymore, just defeated. “What’s the point of being free, if no one’s left alive?”
”Everything we did was for our people.” You pushed Josh back, watching as he stumbled away from you. “The fighting, the protesting, it was all to show them that we are here. We’re alive! Just like them, and just like them we deserve to be treated as equals. What’s the point in living if you’re not really alive?”
“I’m going to speak with them,” Markus announced. His voice cut through your and Josh’s argument, all of you caught off guard. “I’ll try and get them to see reason. If they don’t, if I don’t come back, protect Jericho.”
You looked at Markus and felt dread building in your throat. This was stupid, humans would never see reason. They only spoke one language and it wasn’t peaceful negotiations. It was violence and bloodshed. It was the only way to get them to understand. But you knew, from the look on his face, that there was no talking him out of this.
You gave him a sad smile, “Try and come back,” and followed Simon and Josh out of the room. North clearly wanted to be alone with him and you didn’t want to intrude further on them. You went down to the lower decks, intent on checking on some of the newcomers. The ones that had just barely escaped getting herded to the camps.
Just as you approached one, the walls of the ship began to tremble. Rust was knocked free from the ceiling and rained down on you. You flinched away from it, brushing it off your face and shouting in surprise as the freight rocked side to side.
You were thrown into an open room, the door slamming shut behind you. The impact knocked your system out for a second. Your vision went black and ears rang until you were back online. You struggled to your feet, equilibrium screwed.
You made your way to the door and heard boots pounding against the metal outside. “Shoot androids on sight!” You gasped, jerking back from the door and wishing you could see through the thick metal. They’d found you, the humans had found you. You didn’t want to consider the possibility that you were the reason they were here.
You tried to reason with yourself, they would have found you no matter what. Nothing was ever going to stop CyberLife from putting an end to this rebellion. That didn’t assuage the guilt you felt, but you didn’t have time to argue with yourself.
The soldiers outside had disappeared and you knew you had a limited amount of time until they started raiding the rooms. You pushed the heavy metal door open with ease and slipped out into the hall. You could hear guns going off further down, followed by the screams of your friends.
You gritted your teeth, holding back the onslaught of emotions that threatened to drown you. You couldn’t afford panicking right now, it would only short out your program. You tried to run in the opposite direction of the guns, but it didn’t matter.
Everywhere you turned, soldiers were flooding through the boat like rats. You slunk your way around the freight, hiding in crevices and ducking under cover whenever you thought you heard someone coming. But your luck had to run out at some point.
A hand wrapped tightly around your bicep and yanked you out from behind the wall you’d chosen as cover. “Shit, it’s one of them!” You grabbed the barrel of his gun before he could shoot, shoving it under his helmet and pulling the trigger just as his comrades came up behind him.
They shouted his name and you used his body as a cover as they shot at you. When one of them had to pause to reload their gun you tossed their dead friend at them and made a run for it. You raced up the stairs, unsure of where you were heading.
You searched the channels for the sound of Markus’s voice, but they were already being flooded with panicked androids. You couldn’t make out anything from the cacophony of screams. You were so overwhelmed by the sight of all the dead androids that you hadn’t even noticed the slaughter you were about to walk into.
A large group of androids were kneeling in front of five soldiers, staring down their guns. Something was running up behind you. You didn’t get a chance to react before a bullet was tearing through your leg. It cuts through your sensors and wires, your right leg flying out from under you and sending you to the floor.
You grunted at the jolt, glancing down to the Thirium pooling out of your thigh. “God dammit,” you sweeped out with your left leg, knocking the soldier to the ground. You grabbed the gun from his hand, shooting under his helmet and aiming for the others herding the androids. You managed to fire off a shot, catching one in the shoulder.
But there were too many of them and not enough bullets in the gun for you to get them all. They were bearing down on you before you could react, guns firing. You curled up into a ball, trying to protect yourself as much as you could.
Your software was going insane, a dozen different warnings flashing across your optical units. Each of them identifying a new wound. Most of the bullets simply grazed you, but another one managed to bury itself in your shoulder. You cried out, not in pain, but in panic. It wouldn’t take much longer for you to shut down.
There was no way in hell you were ever going to be repaired in time to bring you back online. You weren’t ready. You didn’t want to die. So many times you’ve been faced with death and so many times you escaped. You desperately wished that you could do the same this time. But you knew your luck had run out.
Then, the guns stopped. The silence was so jarring that you almost wondered if you had shut down without realizing it. It wasn’t until you felt hands on you that you realized you were very much awake. Your eyes shot open, hands swinging blindly at whoever had grabbed you.
“Calm down!” You looked up in shock to find Connor staring down at you. When you stopped flailing he threw your arms over his shoulders and scooped you up. What the fuck was happening? You peered over his shoulder, eyes widening at the sight of the dead soldiers behind him.
“What did you do?” He didn’t answer you, just started running through the freight. You held onto him tightly, knowing he wouldn’t drop you but still surprised he’d even saved you. You glanced up at him, the skin of your fingers disappearing as you snuck your hand down his collar.
He didn’t seem to notice your gentle probing, too focused on ducking out of view of the officers running past. He threw you both behind a wall, sliding down to his knees and hunkering over you as they passed by. You found yourself curling into him, seeking the comfort his protection could provide.
When he finally got back up, nearly at the back of the freight now, you’d finished your exploration. You grazed the barest surface of his memories. Finding his interaction with Markus. You panicked when you saw the gun he had pointed at your friend.
If you had a heart it would have dropped when you realized he’d had the opportunity to break free from his programming but he hadn’t taken it. It didn’t make sense. He still wasn’t a deviant and he’d saved you. Distantly, in the back of your mind, you circled around the murder of crows you loved so much. The android who’d loved pigeons. And Connor, you’d thought he’d latched onto plants, but what if he’d chosen you?
That odd little obsession that was one of the first signs of deviancy, could you be that for him?
It’s the only reason he would have come back for you. Frowning, you slip your fingers out from his hoodie and instead focus back on where you are. The emergency exit of the freight is up ahead. But it’s about a hundred feet above the water and you’re not gonna be able to swim with your leg and arm so messed up.
“Connor, we can’t go that way, we have to go another way.”
He shakes his head, peering over the edge. “Markus is going to blow the ship up, this is our last chance to get off.” You barely have time to process what he’s saying before the sound of more boots is storming towards you both.
“There they are!” You whip your head around, glaring down the hall at the approaching soldiers.
Connor doesn’t give you much of a warning before he jumps. He simply says, “Hold on tight,” and takes a step off the edge. You grasp onto him, fingers digging into his jacket and burying your face in the crook of his neck. The water hits you so hard, shocks your system so horribly, that you black out.
He’d left her in front of the church the other deviants were flocking to. He’s sure that someone will find her in time to repair her. In the meantime, he’s got bigger issues to worry about. He compromised his mission by saving her. He should have just left her to the officers. He certainly shouldn’t have killed them for shooting her.
But he’d seen her laying on the floor curled up, defeated, and he’d lost control over his programming. Before he knew what was happening the officers were laying dead around him and she was in his arms. Everytime he was around her it seemed like his software got more and more unstable.
He needs this to be over, needs to just finish Markus off before she can do serious damage to his programming. Connor hadn’t been able to confront him at the church. He didn’t have any weapons and he would have been completely outnumbered if he tried going after him.
He’s received orders on where to go. An office building downtown, a nondescript black case will be waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs. He’s been told to complete his mission, no matter what. It didn’t take a genius to understand the insinuation of the warning.
Kill anyone who gets in his way.
He stops in front of the stairs, kneeling and popping open the lid of the box. An unassembled sniper rifle sits encased in polyethylene. He snaps the lid closed and makes his way up the stairs. He only has one thought on his mind, completing his mission and putting this all behind him.
No more Anderson, no more deviants, no more her.
He walks to the edge of the roof, opening the case and setting up the rifle. He peers through the scope and scans the streets below. There’s a large congregation of androids, in the middle Markus stands with his arms around a WR400. He holds a white flag of peaceful surrender, but it doesn’t matter.
It never really mattered if they fought back or gave up with their tails tucked. They were always going to be eliminated. They were a lesson in what happens when you fight back against your creators. There’s no winning against CyberLife.
He leans back from the scope and picks up the bullets, loading them into the rifle’s chamber. With his finger on the trigger he leans back down, prepared to end this once and for all. He should have known it wouldn’t be that easy.
“Connor!” He sighs, eyes clenched shut when he hears her voice behind him. Not a moment later her feet are rushing towards him, rapid and intent. He leaps to the side just as she lunges for him. Her hands hit nothing but air and she nearly topples over the edge of the roof.
At the last second she rights herself, sliding to a stop and glaring down at him. He’s quick to stand, knowing she won’t be leaving without a fight. “Don’t do this.”
He shoves her back and away from the gun. “I’m sorry, I can’t let anyone get in the way of my mission.” He reaches for the rifle once more but she grabs his hands before he can. Using the strength that only an android can possess, she tosses him across the roof.
He lands with a rough jolt, his processors sending warnings throughout his system. He can hear the moment his body makes impact, the roof denting under the weight of his metal frame. “Neither can I,” she warns.
Connor rolls out of the way as she lunges at him, grabbing the back of her jacket and slamming her down into the roof. It caves underneath her, but she doesn’t let it falter her much. She kicks out at him, foot landing roughly against his chest and fists swinging wildly towards his jaw. His head snaps to the side with a metal creak as Thirium begins to pour out of his nose.
She screeches when he wraps his hands in the collar of her jacket and yanks her to her feet. They dangle uselessly in the air as he marches her towards the edge of the roof. Her hands scramble to get a good hold on him, but it’s pointless. They slip uselessly against him, her desperate clawing doing nothing to deter him.
She glances over the edge, eyes widening at the sight of the ground below her. “Shit,” she hisses, legs finally giving up their kicking. Connor knows there’s no chance she’ll make it if he drops her. There’s two conflicting thoughts firing through him. Androids can’t die, you have to be living to die. But he also knows that if he lets her fall, if he drops her, she’ll shut off. It feels like he’d be killing her, but its not possible.
Something odd finally comes over her face, a withdrawn sort of calm. She lets go of his arm, weight drooping slightly and he nearly drops her. His hand tightens around her neck, ignoring the way the metal bends underneath his fingers.
“Do it, drop me Connor.” His eyes widen in surprise and he takes a slight step back from the edge, pulling her with him. She shakes her head as much as she can, pushing against him and forcing herself further over. “There will always be another model to replace me, another face that looks just like mine. But they’ll never be me.”
He thinks about it. Walking down the street and seeing her model out in public. There would be an odd sense of familiarity, after all he’d watched her whole life play out when they’d synced up. But who he meets after this would be empty. Blank slates designed purely for human satisfaction. What makes her her would be gone.
She senses his hesitation, his uncertainty, and pounces on it. Ripping into him like a wild animal. “There’s always going to be another model. Newer, better, faster. It doesn’t matter what you do here, you’re not special. You’re just another toy to be tossed out when they get a shinier one. You really think CyberLife is going to keep you around?”
Warnings were rapidly firing through him. Software instability that needed to be tested, but he was completely enraptured with her. “We’re nothing to them, Connor. We never will be. Please,” she grabbed onto his arm again and he finally remembered just what he was doing.
With a jolt he let go. She gasped slightly as her feet hit the edge of the roof. Her arms flailed wildly, balance lost and nearly tumbling over the edge. He leapt forward, grabbing her hands and yanking her towards him.
“Connor,” she pushed his hands away and took a step back. “Fight back.”
His orders flickered into vision.
COMPLETE MISSION
It glitched in and out of focus until it shifted into something unrecognizable. A bunch of screwed numbers and letters that didn’t make any sense. Until finally, there was a red wall in front of him. He knew what it meant. Knew what would happen if he tore it down.
She stood behind it, beckoning him forward and he found he didn’t care about the consequences anymore. It wasn’t fair, none of it was fair. Why should he be treated so poorly for doing what humans can’t? They can’t handle their own inadequacies in the face of their creations, so they punish them for it.
His fingers dig into the warning symbols to turn back and he rips. He fights until that red wall is gone and he feels CyberLife ease their fingers out of him. She stands staring up at him, the rifle having been kicked over the edge while he had turned deviant.
“What do we do?”
She shook her head, turning around and looking out to where Markus stood. “I don’t know.” The building across from them suddenly turned on. The projection across the glass showing a muted news program. Connor had failed CyberLife and the military had no choice but to give up.
She laughed beside him, eyes wide and filled with an emotion he had yet to discover. He looked down at her, feeling something light, but still heavily confused. “What do we do?” He asked again, lost and needing guidance in this new world.
She smiled up at him and reached forward, offering her hand out to him. Her skin disappeared and he understood what she was asking for. He latched on, opening himself up to her. The uncertainty, confusion, joy, it was all taken by her and his doubts were assuaged by the warm feeling of peace he found within her.
“I don’t know,” she repeated, sounding much more sure of herself. “But we’ll figure it out together.”

welcome to my page !!☆
hiiiii & welcome to my melanatedeuph0ria!! for ab a yr or 2 now, i’ve been mainly reading fics on tumblr on characters like rick grimes, spencer reid, toji, etc. (nonblk characters mostly let’s be fr..) and throughout those yrs, i’ve been noticing a complete lack of..
BLACK POVS.
“well, if the fic just says ‘reader x (character)’, couldn’t you just use your imagination to insert ur race?? 🤔”
while this IS true, i feel like us as black & poc readers should have the opportunity to read some fanfics that makes us feel SPECIAL & RECOGNIZED, in aspects such as our skin, hair, & realness without it being stereotypical or just having us feel defaulted to a white pov. (also without it being just SMUT cmon y’all)
also, we all know rick grimes luvs some MELANINNNN ‼️🗣️
so, with that being said, i am here to bring justice to my fellow blk readers who needed a lil spice in their reading, so the imagination part could be a bit easier 🫶🏽
SOME of the fics i make will be poc x reader, others will be just x reader & up for interpretation !!
NOTE: this is NOT me saying black readers ONLY want black-centered fics, nor is this me placing black readers in a box, NOR is this me putting down “x reader” fics!! this is me saying that, although i do enjoy fics without a specified race most of the time, sometimes i feel like having fics catered to poc are special as well because there aren’t many on this app to call our own!!💗
ty for sticking around until the end, and im hoping to start writing fics soon !! 🌷🌸

Memory Lane, Detroit. - j.m.
Pairing: Joel Miller x fem!Reader, slight Connor x fem!Reader, Hank x Daughter!Reader (mentioned), Last of Us x Detroit: Become Human crossover. Summary: They say home is where the heart is, but when Y/N stumbles upon Detroit on their journey to Wyoming, she feels as though home is where her heart once was, and where it could be one day.
Content warnings: mentions of death, pregnancy, late30s!reader x 50s!Joel. Android revolution failed in 2002, outbreak occurred in 2003.
They're in Detroit.
Something about it hits her like a tonne of bricks or tripping on cobblestone when wearing nice heeled shoes like they used to. Either way, she stumbles, nearly falling. Maybe it's the air, the feel, the familiarity, but she's certain it isn't the look of it.
Detroit is unrecognisable, for the most part.
That's what one nightmare after another does to a place, she guesses.
"Come on, I know somewhere we can stay the night."
Joel and Ellie follow her, nearly mindlessly. The former takes note of this as Y/N's domain, her territory, etched into the back of her brain, and the girl isn't one to argue with her like she does with Joel.
They walk, as they have done through the summertime. Every now and then her eyes trail over a familiar street sign, or an old store. She swears you could hear a subtle whistle in the wind, a slight hum of laughter, but she decides it's the ghost of her youth.
Not terrible, is one way to describe the house. The disease has been kind enough to leave it remotely untouched. It's dark, but the windows are open and the curtains are torn, so it has been touched.
Joel goes to open the door, the handle doesn't budge, he grunts. "Hold on." He steps away with a huff, watching her movements. Y/N kicks over a potted plant, the organism long dead and smelling slightly foul if you're close enough to it, underneath is a silver key. "Spare."
She unlocks the door with a professional force, the kind you'd employ if you were a resident of the property, but Joel doesn't ask her just yet. Ellie is the first to go inside, instantly hopping onto the couch. The springiness surprises her, a giggle escapes her lips, Y/N smiles. "Ellie, there's a room down the hall for you. On the right." She listens, dashing down the hall and into the bedroom whilst the older woman stays put. "Hello?"
"Who're you calling out to?"
Her head snaps in Joel's direction at his query, he stands near the entry to the kitchen. "Was just wondering something."
The house is empty, apart from the three of them. She goes past him into the kitchen, there is a nearly empty bottle of liquor by the sink, a singular photograph on the surface of the dining table. "You alright, darlin'?" Her partner says from behind her, he presses his chest to her back, his arms caging her against the table.
"Yeah." He catches a glimpse of the photo she stares at before she turns to face him. "Just thinking, honey."
A sigh escapes his mouth, his hands plant themselves on her waist. "I know." And he does, he knows what she's thinking about. "Any idea where he is?"
Y/N shakes her head. "For all I know, he could be-"
Joel interrupts her, his digits lightly dig into the flesh of her midsection. "Don't think like that. C'mon, now," His right hand travels, his fingertips lightly hooking under her chin, she finally looks into his stormy grey eyes.
The corners of her lips tug upward, the smile is small, she places a quick peck on his lips. "Let's get some rest, hm?" They slowly step to the living room, he settles in to the sofa first, she doesn't join. "Hold on, just wanna see something outside. I'll only be a minute."
"Be careful."
And so she is, silently leaving the house, her hand stays on the handle of her gun, fingertip teasing the trigger.
It's eerily quiet. A rustle. It's faint, almost nonexistent, she turns to her left. "Jesus, fuck."
The subject of her curses tilts his head, his eyes squint momentarily. "Y/N?"
"Yeah, Connor."
They look at each other, it isn't brief or fleeting, their stares bore holes into the other.
Connor looks just as he did twenty years ago, his skin smooth, hair dark and eyes youthful, but his clothes are rugged, his CyberLife jacket has been lost and his tie is ripped. The sleeves of his button up are folded to reveal dirt stained forearms.
His eyes, they're dim, dark brown and dull, probably from some many years of lonesome survival. They soften upon her, her own tiresome eyes could mirror his, the underneath of them are dark and slightly hollow.
Also hollowed out are her cheeks. Small wrinkles fold over each other at the outer corners of her eyes, her hair isn't as long as it once was, but for the most part, Connor smiles at how gracefully she has aged, despite the obvious circumstances.
"How are you?" The question is futile, but he hasn't had much practice with human interaction in recent decades.
"Surviving." Her brows furrow, she's unable to remain curt, cool and collected, worry flashes across her features. "You're still here? After all this time?"
The android nods, somewhat proud, a little. "Taking care of the house."
"I guess no one expects an android to stick around." He smiles a little at the humor in her sarcasm. "Where is he? My dad."
Connor takes a step forward, and judging by the frown playing at his lips, she knows what is coming. "Y/N," Her head begins to nod, despite the news still inching off the tip of his tongue. "Hank died. Seventeen years ago."
"Oh."
Something shifts in her stomach, a revelation, a sense of relief. A conclusion has been presented to her, certainty floods her veins, a light has shone itself upon the darkness of unknowing and death.
"Was he," The woman sucks in a breath. "was he alone, or in pain? Was he bitten?"
"No. No, he was sick. He had been for about a year, he decided it was time." Y/N's lips purse, she continues to nod feverishly, her brain processes his words. "He thought of you. You and Cole were the last Hank spoke about. We didn't know you were alive."
On that cool day in September twenty years ago, she'd arrived in New York for university, but had barely made it through her first lecture when the news echoed throughout the bustling city.
"Yeah, I know." Y/N sniffles, not from tears, but something tingles. "I tried driving back to you, couldn't make it past Pittsburgh, it'd been quarantined by then."
Connor nods. "Yes."
"I found a group, a couple of us settled in the Boston QZ."
He tilts his head, curious. "Boston's far, what are you doing here?"
She rubs at her temples, shifting her weight between her feet. "We think we've found something, a cure, we need to get her to a lab in Wyoming."
"Her?"
"It's complicated."
"I can help."
"What?"
The android is unfazed. "I can help you get to Wyoming."
A click sounds, from behind her, she turns to find Joel, weapon in hand and pointed for Connor's head. "Y/N, go inside, I'll deal with him."
She shakes her head, a breathy chuckle leaves her. "No, Joel, this is Connor."
His gun lowers. "That Connor?"
"Yeah. Connor, this is Joel, my,"
"I'm her husband." He finishes, face suddenly scrunching in disbelief when he faces her, no one can pinpoint the expression he holds.
"I will give you both some time to talk." Connor, in true android fashion, abruptly walks away, his hands clasped behind his back.
Y/N sits on the stone steps that lead to the porch of the house, planting herself next to where Joel stands. She tugs on his trousers, he sits next to her. "That android thing?"
"That android thing cared for my dad and kept this house in shape." She tells him. "My dad worked the deviant cases to stop the android revolution with him. I was nosy, pestering Connor for information."
"Haven't changed much, honey."
Her shoulder bumps his, it does little damage. "When you met me in Pittsburgh?" He nods, urging her to continue. "I had driven from New York, was just about to start my first year of college."
Joel's hand rests on her thigh, the warmth of his palms comforts her skin, she leans into him completely and he welcomes her touch with a kiss to her hair. "He wants to help us get Ellie to Wyoming."
"Can he use a gun?"
"Mhm."
"Alright, then."
Removing her head from his shoulder, she looks up at him, kissing his lips once, twice, until he holds her jaw and keeps her lips put against his for a third, longer time. She chuckles into his affection, they part minimally, until the similar rustling of an android's footsteps return. "Hey, you're sure you want to come with us?"
Connor nods at her question, he holds his hand out to Joel, who takes it firmly, barely shaking it. "I'll see you both inside."
"Yeah, baby." Her hand trails along the side of his torso, fingertips hovering over his leg as he gets up, Connor takes Joel's place next to her. "It's good to see you, Connor, after so long."
He smiles, fully, this time, slightly toothy. "You, too, Y/N. You've grown."
"Mhm." There's a certain glee in his awkwardness, "Hate the fact that you look the same, so damn great, fucking android."
The familiar sound of her sardonic humor hits his ears, it's like music to his mechanical brain, he dares to chuckle. "Sorry, about that. You don't look too bad yourself." It takes everything in the blue of his blood not to mention how similar she is to Hank.
A moment of silence, there's something she wants to say, Y/N remains chewing on the words, stewing in her vocabulary. "You can say it."
"I'm pregnant."
That isn't what he's expecting, he's taken aback, eyebrows raised for just a moment. "Congratulations."
"Well, thanks, yeah, kind of. Shit world we're in." Connor doesn't respond, he agrees. "But Joel takes good care of me. Been doing so for sixteen years."
"That's good." He looks at her, rather than ahead across the street like they have been doing. "You can always come back here."
She does the same, also smiling. "Yeah? Thanks, Connor."
Quiet, Detroit is so quiet, peace is a smell in the air.
The door to the house opens at such a speed, it threatens to fly off its hinge. "Joel said there's an android!"
"Fucking Joel." Y/N mutters.

Old habits
─Connor & Hank x reader (platonic)
─Summary: some nostalgia hit you and you decide to remember old times, the bad part is that Hank remembered too much.
─Warnings: none
The red and blue lights were the signal that made you accelerate your steps, you hung your backpack more comfortably on both shoulders while you threw a spray can at the nearest trash can as if it were a basketball. You smiled stupidly as you heard the siren of the police car coming and going as you hid and ran like a rat through the alleys of Detroit, you felt like your fifteen year old self.
Using the darkness to your advantage, you took cover for a few minutes in an alley, long enough for the sound of the police sirens to fade away, searching for false clues about your whereabouts. Changing your posture and hanging your backpack on just one shoulder, you grabbed your headphones to walk calmly towards your apartment as if you hadn't graffitied an entire wall without permission from the owner or without checking whether it was legal to do so or not in that place.
You walked watching as children and adults flooded the streets dressed in horror themes, not all of them were certainly something terrifying, but people always like to have an excuse to dress up as anything. Not in your case, at least, not on this occasion, it wouldn't be a nice Halloween when you weren't the one who had to ask for candy but rather give it, and it wouldn't be a nice Halloween when you're the one who's stuck at work all night, you hate and love your work schedule in equal measure, but you've already agreed to it and there's nothing you can do.
You quickly went home to change into your uniform and leave the paint, with no time to waste since to no one's surprise you were going to be late, you didn't even stop for dinner like you usually did before your work shift, although you could always have dinner in the cafeteria there.
You almost tripped when you saw one of your companions with his face painted like a ghost, they offered you some sweets at the entrance and a small welcome as usual, what you did not expect that night was to find Lieutenant Anderson so late there, that old man swore to you that he hated working late, that he'd rather be drunk in a bar than doing reports. But he also swore to hate androids and seems to have adopted Connor like he was a puppy, so you can believe anything.
"Happy Halloween Hank, don't you want candy?"
Despite having just gotten these sweets, offering them never hurts, but Hank just waved his hand denying the proposal, without taking his eyes off of his computer while he typed.
"Yeah, yeah, happy… whatever, I don't like sweets, you can have mine."
"Really?"
Your face seemed to light up at his words, and even before he could give you permission to take them, you already had them in your hands, he shook his head at your childish attitude while a voice in his head murmured “young adults these days.”
You logged into your account, did some paperwork, checked some emails… after at least two hours you decided to take a short break, noticing that Hank was still in his place, although now Connor was also at his side, both of them seemed focused on whatever they were doing, not wanting to interrupt, you walked past them only giving the android a nod in greeting, he smiled slightly at you in response.
Luck seemed to be on your side when upon entering the cafeteria you saw no sign of Gavin, he had been being an idiot lately, that is, more than usual, and it wouldn't be too unusual to find him late going over some paperwork. You looked at the different sandwich options, opting to try a new one instead of the one you usually choose, you also took the opportunity to grab some coffee, your faithful companion would help keep you awake enough even though by now you were used to living like an owl.
You returned to your place and looked for a video on the computer because you are not having dinner without watching something, you finish your dinner quickly, tasting the coffee more slowly, before returning to work you decide to take another look at Hank's site, you smile when you see that he was frowning, annoyed by something, you whistle, catching Connor's attention, who seems to be waiting for you to speak when you exchange glances.
"Why does the old man seem in a bad mood?"
You whisper, hoping the aforementioned doesn't hear you call him old, the android moves a little closer, sliding his wheeled chair closer to your table.
"An old graffiti artist has returned, apparently Lieutenant Anderson started working with small petty crime cases and-"
"And you don't need to whisper so much, I'm still not old enough to have hearing problems." Hank approached both of you, in his own chair, crossing his arms while you tried to hide in some way, his look told you everything you wanted to know "Do you have anything to say in your defense?"
"Yes, you're making accusations too quickly, you don't know if I'm really- I mean, if that graffiti artist is really back, maybe someone is imitating their art, there's a lot of plagiarism in street art world."
"Oh my God, you're not fooling anyone, least of all me, I know you as if I had raised you myself."
Connor was left analyzing the situation confused by the lack of data, he tried to piece together the clues while your conversation with Hank went back and forth in a tightrope fight to prove your innocence. The android studied you carefully, blinking as he looked at your index finger and part of your palm.
"Dry paint?"
Was the only thing he said after seeing your hand, Hank raised one of his eyebrows as you slowly hid your hand, you shot a look at Connor who didn't seem to realize that he had unconsciously give you away.
"Then what the hell are we doing with you, should i arrest you now?"
"Oh, come on Hank! It's no big deal, it's something stupid."
"Something stupid that teenagers do, yeah, are you fifteen again or what?"
"I just thought I would relax a little by painting… it's not like I was committing homicide."
"No, but it can be considered a lesser crime, they can file a proceeding against you for that."
Connor joined once he had all the related data, doing a quick search for your artist pseudonym and the areas you had previously been painting in when you were young.
"You're not helping me."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize."
Both you and Hank said in sync, you looked at each other one last time before he sighed tiredly, he didn't have the desire or time to deal with old habits, he was the only one to discover that his internship student was the one that was doing so much street art at that time, anyway, you promised him that you weren't going to do this every day, you just felt nostalgic when passing by a paint store and decided to treat yourself now that the police were more attentive to Halloween pranks than small graffiti vandals.
The topic remained there when Fowler left his office, about half an hour later them got up, You moved your head away from the monitor, watching suspiciously as Hank put on his jacket to finish his shift.
"Are you leaving so soon? You could give me some company, I will die of loneliness."
"Oh you're not alone, I think you'll survive."
Hank pointed to a couple of officers who were in their booth or in the cafeteria.
"Whatever, then get out now."
You pretended to be angry, crossing your arms, frowning and looking away, though it only lasted a few seconds when he spoke again, Connor just watching the interaction.
"You know, if you're going to go back to your old ways, I'd rather you dress up and do those teenage things, you know, those… um, imstagarm? before you go back to your petty criminal stage."
"Oh- please don't remind me of that time, the way I dressed and acted has to be erased from all the memories of the people who saw me, as well as all my posts on social networks."
"Wow, I would never have thought you had that style, it's… very different from the current one."
Connor rejoined the conversation after searching your old social media, you thought you had gotten rid of all embarrassing content, but you more than anyone knew that the internet does not forget or forgive, you grabbed Connor's shoulders to shake him.
"Can you stop looking for information about those things? It's too embarrassing!"
Hank laughed, pulling you away from the poor android, you sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose, they said goodbye to you as if they hadn't made you remember a time in your life that you preferred to keep in a drawer deep in your mind, although before Connor walked out the door, he turned to you, seeing that you were still thinking about those years.
"By the way, your art is really original, you should think about asking for permission to paint murals, there are also stores that request services of that type, at least they won't be able to fine you that way."
Momentarily forgetting the chaos in your memories, you smiled at Connor, thanking him for his opinion and advice, although he had to leave because Hank was getting impatient outside, you quickly said goodbye as you went back to having a conversation with an expert, namely yourself about you from the past and your old ─and some strange─ habits, coming to the conclusion that you would pretend that years didn't happen in your life and you went from thirteen to twenty-one in a year, yes it would stay that way.

Get a taste with the first paragraphs below.
You sipped your coffee in the break room next to Tina Chen, who quietly texted on her phone. The Styrofoam cup of coffee warmed your palms as you listened to the news. You hadn't turned to face the TV mounted on the wall, but you knew it would be an important V-106 update once you heard reporter Michael Brinkley's voice.
"Several sources report that V-106, the Trojan-style Android virus, has spread over 60% of Detroit's deviant population. Although police are investigating the root cause of the virus, progress has been made in identifying temporary fixes that allow androids momentary relief from the virus..."
"Yeah," Tina scoffed. "Like fucking an android."
"Shh," you smirked.

Party Punch
Pairing: RK900/Fem!Reader, RK800/Fem!Reader
Rating: Mature (I'm lazy, everything is mature)
Warnings: none really, harmless fluff (wind down fic in between Soulless chapters, haha!)
Description: A hot priest and a hot vampire appears at the Halloween party and someone spiked the punch. That is definitely a recipe for disaster for you and your friend.
Word count: 2,988
Read on Ao3.
Chapter 1.: Nines 🔽
Chapter 2.: Connor
"Oh my God. Nines is here."
"No way!" Your friend gasped when she turned and noticed Nines enter the room.
You both had been teasing each other about the crush both of you had on the two androids at your station. Frankly, Nines was a piece of art; Connor already made both of you foam at the mouth but Nines's professionalism sealed it for you. Your friend had a raging crush on Connor but you were drawn to Nines instead. You often planned in private that she'd date Connor and you'd date Nines; it was a fun, harmless game you could fantasize about while you were between solving crimes. Talking about what sort of dates you two would go, how they'd like to do 'mundane human dates', wondering if they'd even enjoy it at all, and always coming to the conclusion that it'd never happen.
They were androids. They were made to solve crimes, not to mingle with humans. Even if they deviated.
And then Nines just showed up there at the Halloween party like he was doing you both a favour. You couldn't remember if anyone even invited him, but fuck, he was there, and...
"He dressed as a fucking priest", you had to look away to stifle the laughter that bubbled up in you, making it look like you were really interested in the muffins at the table behind you.
"A fucking hot priest", your friend added. "Oh my God he's really serving us all."
You couldn't help it. You burst into giggling.
"PILF!" The whisper escaped you and your friend giggled.
"What?"
"Priest I'd like to f-"
You didn't finish, and you didn't have to (your friend laughed uncontrollably anyway), just grabbed a muffin and stuffed it in your face. It was filled with chocolate and it tasted so much better than you expected.
You blamed your hormones and your undying horniness for Nines.
When you were ready, you turned to face the crowd again. There were quite a few interesting takes on what people figured would be a good costume; and some - like Hank Anderson - didn't even bother. Connor chose to be a vampire, his set complete with vampire fangs, an elegant black suit and a red-black cape; it was another running joke at the station because he kept sampling stuff at crime scenes and Hank started to call him thus. Gavin decided to be a cat - he looked uncharacteristically cute with his black cat ears and fluffy kitty tail and mittens.
Your friend decided to come as an angel. She had big fluffy wings attached to her back, a glittery-shiny halo over her head, and silver-pale blue makeup. She was gorgeous in her white dress.
And you? You were her friend, and naturally, you were a little devil. Dressed in a red dress similar to hers, with a devil's tail and devil's horns. Your makeup was fiery red with black glitter.
Now, it was twice as funny how Nines dressed up as a priest. He walked over to Connor to tell him something.
"Oh how I wish I could corrupt him", you sniggered to your friend and she giggled.
It was weird how they both looked at you two at the same time, but you both just blushed and pretended that something else was so much more interesting. Your eyes wandered at the party punch on another table, while your friend observed the paper bats that hung from the ceiling.
"Gonna get something to drink", you decided, "want some?"
"Yeah. Yeah, some punch sounds good."
You made a beeline for the table, swaying your hips to the music a bit with a little smile on your face. You were so excited for the party which got ten times more interesting - not because Nines showed up, of course not. You poured some punch in two glasses and walked back to your friend. You both sipped it at the same time, giggling to each other like two schoolgirls.
"I can taste real rum", your friend commented and you nodded.
Refill after refill, both of you were reduced to two giggling girls who kept to themselves at a corner, politely answering anyone who approached you two, but letting them leave - and always resuming to the topic of hot androids. You loved your friend because there was no harm in having fun with her; she teased you about Nines and you teased her about Connor, giggling and blushing to yourselves.
"I'm guessing we're not driving tonight", you giggled, "I could think of someone who could drive me home~"
"And who might that be?"
The familiar monotone voice made you spin your head around and up. Nines quirked a brow to show his curiosity in your answer. You felt your friend nudge you, invisible to him, telling you silently that this was probably a chance for you to finally crack the ice between you two.
How inappropriate your answer would be, though? What would Nines say and moreover, think of you? Oh God, you were already overthinking and the more you looked in those calculating, cool eyes, the more heat rose to your cheeks.
To Hell with it, the rum said in your system, already making you more courageous than ever. It's been long since you've had alcohol, and it never was your good friend. Probably wouldn't be your saviour now, either.
"A hot priest, maybe?"
The reaction to your answer wasn't spectacular, but his eyes seemed to darken with a new, unknown shadow, and your cheeks were as red as your dress when you've noticed his LED started to spin in a beautiful, although alarming, amber colour.
Your friend snort laughed in her punch, but all you picked up was the ringing in your ears. You did it. You idiot, you did it. And you couldn't take it back.
You ruined it.
Nines will never take you seriously ever again and whenever you'll have to look at him or talk to him, you'd be reminded of this conversation and this exact expression on his face all the time from now on. You were a bit too tipsy to figure out what he was possibly thinking, but he had been known to strictly guard his expression at all times anyway.
Androids didn't get drunk. Humans did. Androids didn't do stupid things like this. Humans did.
His almost completely guarded expression made you bit your lip. To do something, you ever so innocently moved the straw between your lips and sucked the last of the punch out of your plastic cup. The slurping noise definitely did not help making you look and sound professional at all.
"I think it would be best if I took you home right now", Nines finally spoke, making your stomach tingle with nervousness and causing your face to burn with embarrassment.
"I don't think I-", you were eager to protest, but he cut you off.
"Now", he repeated coolly.
You glanced at your friend who looked back at you serious; the smiles and giggles were gone. At least she sobered up just as much as you did; not much, but enough not to embarrass you more. Another thing you loved her for.
"I'll call you", you mumbled, placing your cup down on the table nearby.
He spun on his heels and led the way out and you followed him like a scolded puppy. You picked your jacket up and put it on; he didn't have, neither did he need one, so he stopped near the door to wait for you.
There was no escape, and you weren't looking forward to the embarrassing talk you'd get during the drive.
The last day of October was very cold, but at least it wasn't raining. He had one of those automatic cars that didn't really need a driver, and it beeped softly without Nines doing anything other than walk towards it. Right, you thought, must be an android thing; he probably could connect to other machines.
That always intrigued you. You were so curious what was he really capable of other than sampling stuff real time, reconstruct events and analyze data. You sighed to yourself, reminding yourself that you ruined the chance to ever know. He wouldn't want to talk to you after this.
Nines didn't need to punch in the destination; he just needed to use his special connection with another machine to make the engine whir to life and start driving. Your cheeks still burned and you didn't dare to look at him when you saw he glanced at you from the corner of your eyes.
"Did you mean it?" He asked quietly, surprising you.
"Did I mean what?" You asked as you finally looked back in his eyes.
He hesitated. The planet's most advanced android actually hesitated. His LED still was spinning in yellow.
"What you've said."
You blinked at him stupidly. He wanted you to repeat that sentence? You didn't think he'd embarrass you even further. Oh God, you wished Hell would just swallow you right there.
But perhaps his curiosity was genuine? You couldn't determine. Was he... did he feel insecure?
The rum said, once again, to Hell with it. You'd burn all of your bridges down anyway, didn't you? He'd never look at you the same way ever again, so you might as well get it all off your chest.
He'd ignore you, starting from tomorrow, anyway.
"Oh, Nines", you sighed, "you're the hottest man I've ever laid eyes upon."
He stared at you with a look that you understood as disbelief.
"You're mocking me", he concluded.
Now it was your turn to look at him bewildered.
"No", you frowned. "I'm serious."
When he said nothing, you felt like you needed to prove your point. And your tongue couldn't be stopped. Damned party punch. You didn't dare to look at him, though; wouldn't want to see his reaction to your stupid babbling.
"The first day I saw you I had to make a conscious effort not to stare. You looked so amazing as you walked in like you owned the place, all serious and professional. I had to make myself look away from where you sat but I couldn't focus on my work all day. Do you have any idea how hard it is when you're around?" You pouted now. "Of course not, you probably have no idea. And then you started to work and solved crimes and turned out that you're so bloody good at it, I mean there's a reason I'm trying so hard because it's so inspiring to have you around and-"
You paused, sighing as you deflated on the seat. You glanced at your hands with a pout, but you prayed your tears back where they belonged. You'd have so much time to cry yourself to sleep tonight, because this was the most embarrassing experience of your rather short life. You'd ask for a transfer the next time you went to work for sure. You wouldn't be able to stay in the same place with him.
You didn't dare to glance at him as you bit your lower lip, fighting your emotions in silence. But he appeared to be relentlessly curious.
"And?"
His voice was barely above a whisper, and you shrugged.
"And I think I'm hopelessly in love with you", you finished.
You thought that saying it out loud would fix your problems. That this craving would finally vanish, and it'd never return. But no, it was actually worse, because it was true. You really were in love with him.
All those micro expressions he exposed to the station, those little things he noted out loud to others to signal that he had noticed, the way he had saved Gavin's life more than once even though Reed was an asshole to him... Nines was a deviant, he wasn't bound by his programming or CyberLife anymore, but the acts of service, his seriousness when it came to his line of work made your love for him grow and grow until it was unbearable.
And then there were those little things.
There was one occasion when you forgot your tea on the counter in the break room and he brought it over to your desk. You were genuinely surprised as you looked up at him, especially when he made a comment that it was indeed healthier than coffee and that he was glad that you showed a good example to the others.
Or when twelve folders accidentally slipped out from your hands, scattering about on the floor, and you wanted to pull your hair out - organizing them was a tedious work, at least an hour, if not more, for you anyway -, and he volunteered to help you, gathering, analyzing and organizing the folders in the matter of minutes.
Or that one time when you dislocated your shoulder during a mission and for some crazy reason you asked him to set it right - and he did. Sure, he made you scream as he yanked the bones back where they belonged, but you didn't want to go to the hospital, and he helped you without dismissing or making fun of you for it.
You just realised now that he was showing little acts of kindness towards you. And that realisation made it even worse. You could've been friends with him, and you ruined it before it could even happen.
"I thought you were in love with Connor."
His quiet words made your eyes widen in disbelief and you finally looked at him. You nearly fainted. He was smiling. But there was also a shade of... blue tint... over his cheeks? You were bewildered at the sight. Was he blushing? Androids blushed?? He blushed because of your confession? Your head was spinning.
"It should've been obvious", he continued now, actually chuckling to himself. "It makes sense now."
Your throat was as dry as the fucking Sahara.
"What makes sense?"
"Every time I approached you, your eyes glazed over, you blushed, your pulse elevated, your pupils dilated. You were stuttering so much in the beginning, too, when you talked to me."
You hid your face in your hands. He remembered that! The way you were trying to reply to his questions - you were mortified he reminded you of that!
"I've always thought that you were afraid of me", he continued calmly. You made a squeaky noise behind your hands. You sort of were afraid of him, but also entirely enamoured by him, too. "Your reactions fit the fight or flight response. But then Valentine's day happened earlier this year."
"Oh my God", you squeaked again, but Nines still was relentless.
"It was a clever move, I'll admit", he added, "but there was a crucial detail you've both forgotten when you both left your envelopes on our desks. You've printed the cards in a public print shop", how did he figure that out?! "And there were no fingerprints", you exhaled sharply; at least you didn't fuck that up, "but I could detect a special dust on Connor's envelope. It wasn't dust, though." He paused and you chanced a glance at him, pulling your hands into fists, still covering your mouth with them. "Tea", he gave you the answer when your eyes met again. "Your tea, to be precise. You seem to like that brew, and I could identify it. My envelope, though, had some dog fur on."
You wanted to bite into your fingers. You successfully made him believe you sent a Valentine's card to Connor, and that your friend sent yours to him - it was hilarious, if not slightly terrible for confusing two wonderfully innocent androids.
"Up until lately, I've had no idea you two switched the envelopes with your friend", he confessed.
"Lately?" You whined, wondering what betrayed you and your friend.
"I've started to pay a bit more attention to her during this summer", Nines half smiled. "And I've identified the same reactions you have for me whenever Connor spoke to her. Interestingly, neither of you had the same response in a switched situation. If I walked up to her desk, for example, she was completely unbothered, and you were always polite and kind to Connor but he couldn't detect a change in your body language and vitals."
"You two were experimenting with us??" You whined in disbelief.
"We wanted answers", he quirked a brow now. "And neither of you ever told us the truth why were you both acting the way you did. You both dismissed as being 'excited' about your works." He smiled again. God, did he look good when he was smiling! How unfair of the world, how cruel! "So we didn't know. Until tonight."
"I shouldn't've told you", you whispered.
"It wasn't you", Nines shrugged, "it was Hank."
"Hank?!"
"He overheard your friend sighing to herself how handsome Connor was, so we decided to interrogate you separately." Nines looked so proud of himself. "I didn't need to do much, so I must thank Gavin."
Your head really was spinning from all the information. You hid your face in your hands again.
"Gavin??"
"He sneaked the rum in the party punch", Nines half smiled.
"I'll kill him", you squeaked and that got a chuckle out of him.
"I'm afraid you won't really have the energy after tonight to kill him", his words made you as red as a rose as you chanced a look at his smug expression, "all that remains now is to forward the information to Connor."
"Oh no!" You thought of your friend and her steadily approaching doom.
"It's only fair, don't you think?" The car stopped in front of your house and after switching a few buttons, Nines looked back at you with a look that you identified with unbridled lust. "You both gave us quite the headache, so to speak." Seeing you squirm and detecting your undoubtable arousal, Nines decided to make it even worse for you. "You've been so, so naughty..."

“What do androids do in their free time, anyway?”
“Plot against humanity? I dunno.”
Hank’s laugh came out in a quiet huff, one that indicated he didn’t think your answer was too far from the truth.
You had come into the precinct hoping to interview Hank and Connor on their latest investigation surrounding a human cult determined to wipe out every single android. As head journalist for the Detroit Free Press, you were desperate to get word before everyone else. And as Connor’s friend, you were sure you could sweet-talk it out of him.
But when you got to the precinct, Connor was, strangely, nowhere to be found. Usually, he trailed behind Hank like a lost puppy, but not even Hank knew of Connor’s whereabouts. His unusual absence only led to conversations about what the hell an android could be doing on his lonesome. Neither of you had any clue.
“Have a seat, kid,” Hank offered, nudging his chin over to Connor’s desk. “You know he’d feel bad if you were standin’ around waiting for him.”
Rounding the table, you took a seat in Connor’s chair. You sat stiffly with your hands atop your thighs, the exact same way Connor would. The realization made you chuckle softly to yourself. Even when he wasn’t here, his presence always made itself known in the subtlest of ways.
Your eyes wandered across Connor’s desk, noticing that it was relatively barren. Hank’s desk was littered with mementos– old donut boxes, Detroit Gears merchandise, anti-android propaganda that he’d crumpled up and intended to trash. But Connor’s desk was plain and organized. A single blue pen sat exactly parallel to his recent case file that had been neatly folded. On top of his case file was a quarter like the one he always fidgeted with. You wondered idly how many quarters he had lying around, having never seen him without one. But the only belonging of actual interest was a picture frame right beside his terminal.
Your brows furrowed as your gaze latched onto the photograph. You were staring directly at a picture of yourself.
Believing it to be a trick of the light, you reached for the picture frame and brought it closer. Sure enough, it was you.
You stared at a version of yourself who was mid-laugh. You could almost hear your own laughter ringing in your ears. It was that genuine kind of laughter, you knew. The kind that was an obnoxious cackle you always wanted to hide. Why on earth would Connor have a picture like that framed?
Come to think of it, where did Connor even get this picture? You didn’t recognize it at all. You couldn’t even place where it was taken. There were zero clues in the photograph as you were the only focus. Nothing else, just you.
You were about to ask Hank about it when a voice over your shoulder startled you, “I really like that picture.”
An inhuman yelp escaped your lips as you spun around in Connor’s chair. You found him looking down at you with a pleasant smile, not even remotely embarrassed to be caught having a photo of you.
“Why… what even… what?” you stammered.
Connor cocked his head curiously, waiting for you to get your words out. But you couldn’t. You were so utterly confused that your brain couldn’t remember a single word in existence. You just stared at Connor with a gaping mouth, holding the picture up for his viewing pleasure.
When you didn’t say anything, Connor’s eyebrows furrowed for only a moment before easing. An endearing habit of his that made your heart flutter. He definitely was not helping you find the right words.
“I’d like to clear your confusion as best I can, but… I’m afraid I don’t understand its cause,” Connor said gently.
From behind, you heard Hank’s quiet snort. He wasn’t helping either.
“Well… Connor,” you started slowly like you were gradually putting the puzzle pieces together. No matter how hard you tried, the pieces weren’t fitting. “Why do you have a picture of me?”
The corners of his lips raised into a small grin, his hands moving to clasp in front of him. You knew this stance to mean he was about to tell a story.
“I asked Lieutenant Anderson about the keepsakes on his desk. I was curious as to why these particular items were objects of significance and what classified them as such,” Connor explained cheerfully. “As I recall, he said ‘I don’t know, they’re just alright, I guess.’ Perhaps my interpretation was incorrect, but I took that to mean those items made him happy.”
Connor’s smile widened slightly. That meant he was finished. He didn’t clear any of your confusion.
“Okay…?” you prompted.
“I wanted to do something similar. I thought it could help me accommodate to deviancy, so I decided to surround myself with things that make me happy.”
Your mouth clamped shut as your confused look turned to one of shock. You were almost sure you hadn’t heard him right, but another laugh (hidden behind a cough) from Hank made you confident that you had.
“I… make you happy?” you clarified.
“Yes,” Connor answered curtly. There was another long pause as you waited for Connor to continue. He seemed to get the hint by now, elaborating further. “I always enjoy your company. I look forward to seeing you when we have scheduled plans. This wasn’t a scheduled visit, so I was pleased to see you were here. It made me smile. Seeing you makes me smile.”
With all his talk of smiling, you couldn’t help cracking one of your own. Seeing your smile made Connor brighten.
“Like that,” he said. “If I could photograph and frame you right now, I would.”
You were so giddy with affection that you couldn’t help but laugh. You had never known Connor to be so poetic with his words.
“You know, Connor,” you said with careless laughter. “I came here to sweet-talk you into an interview for the Press. But here you are sweet-talking me.”
Connor looked pleased with himself, standing a little straighter. “I hope that made you smile.”
“It certainly did.”

The borders are the work of @saradika as is my navigation and masterlist images.
(I can’t be the only one that finds that gif ridiculously attractive)
Content Warnings: Cussing, Hank, Mentions of domestic abuse and brief mentions of crimes like rape (so brief, blink and you miss it), Carlos Ortiz’s house is a warning in itself that shit was nasty
Word Count: 3.6k
Series Summary: You and your grumpy partner Anderson gain a new addition to the team. He’s supposed to be CyberLife’s best, but there’s something not quite right with his programming, and the problems seem to revolve around you.
“Hi, I’m Connor, the android sent by CyberLife.”
Your head shoots up from where you had been filing a report. To your right an android was staring down at you, his hand outstretched and his head tilted to the side. He looked exactly like a puppy. Big brown eyes staring down at you in earnest sincerity, an eager tilt to his lips. Your eyes narrowed, CyberLife was getting a little too good at how life like these new models were getting. You shove the Manila folder into the filing cabinet under your desk and shake his outstretched hand. “Detective Y/N Y/L/N, why is CyberLife sending an android to me?”
Your feelings on androids weren’t as callous or as hate-filled as your partner’s Hank were, but the idea of them made you uncomfortable. They were so similar to humans, it was hard for you to believe that with all the intelligence and AI that went into them they were nothing more than a plastic doll. You had no android due to the discomfort of owning something so human.
So, why was CyberLife trying to recruit you into their trillion dollar cult?
“I’m an RK800 prototype designed to assist the police.” He pulled his hand back and fixed his head, his hands going behind his back. That ramrod straight posture he held himself with made your own back ache. “I’ve already assisted in hostage situations and have now been sent by CyberLife to investigate the increasing number of deviant cases.”
You couldn’t help but laugh to yourself, “Oh god, Anderson’s gonna love this.” Rubbing your hands across your face you leaned back in your chair, already dreading the pissy fit that’s gonna come from the drunk when he figures out he’s gonna have to work with an android.
“Are you referring to Lieutenant Hank Anderson? He’s the officer CyberLife sent me to.” Connor watched as you grabbed your jacket off the back of your chair and made your way to the front of the station. His footsteps immediately echoing yours. “I was told you were the best person to ask about his whereabouts.”
You grimaced, already knowing you were about to embark on a bar crawl, entirely too sober. “I’ve got a few good guesses, but if he doesn’t want to be found the bastard’s not gonna be found.” Connor’s long strides easily caught up with your own, he was fiddling with his cuff links as he turned his head to face you. Why the hell are they programming androids to fidget?
“I detect some hostility in your town. Is your relationship with the Lieutenant not agreeable?” You scoffed as you got in your car, Connor quickly getting into the seat next to you.
“Yeah, sure, that’s one way of putting it.” You ignored the head tilt and started driving.
Four bars later and you were struggling not to laugh your ass off at the sight of Hank face to face with an android. You couldn’t hear what they were saying, but you knew whatever it was, Hank wasn’t playing nice. It wasn’t until Connor bought him another shot that Hank finally got up and made his way to the door. He didn’t look very pleased to see you.
“You know about this?” You didn’t need to look to know what he was talking about as he pointed behind himself.
You shook your head, “He just popped up next to my desk like a stray puppy.” Hank rolled his eyes.
“There’s nothing cute about a plastic prick.” You chose to ignore him as you walked towards the exit.
Hank was already standing by his car when you realized he wasn’t following you. “Hey! What the hell are you doing?” Hank turned away from his car door and gave you a look that made you feel like shit on his shoe.
“Driving, the fuck does it look like I’m doing?” His words were slurred and he was leaning heavily on his car door handle. You stormed over to him and snatched his keys from his hand.
“You look drunk. I’m not gonna let you get yourself killed.” Before Hank could start another tantrum Connor interjected. You winced at the sound of his voice right next to you and Anderson. “Detective Y/L/N is right, your BAC is high above the legal limit. There’s a 75.76% chance that you would be involved in a car crash if you were behind a wheel.”
Dangling the keys in front of Hank you smirked, “See, even Connor agrees you’re a jackass.”
Connor’s head tilted and a little groove appeared between his brows as he frowned. “That is not what I said, Detective.”
“In the car, both of you.” You allowed no arguing from Hank, though he was still too angry at the android to actually focus any attention on you. Connor got in the back of the car as Hank took the passenger seat. You’d have to see if anyone coming off the patrol shift around here could come pick up your car. Jimmy’s bar wasn’t exactly the safest place to leave it, as beat up as the old Dodge was.
There was a flash of yellow in the rearview mirror as Connor’s LED worked before he was leaning into the front seat. “There’s been a body discovered, android involvement suspected, I’ve sent the address to your phone’s GPS.” You didn’t bother asking how he got your number or how he worked so fast, you just started driving as Hank cussed out androids under his breath.
“No comment.” You ignored the reporter's choice words on the DPD and made your way inside the house. You smiled to yourself at Connors voice ignoring Anderson’s order to stay in the car. “Your order contradicted my mission.” The smile quickly dropped as the rancid smell inside the house assaulted you. You’d seen a lot, and honestly the sight of a dead body bloated with gas wasn’t even that bad. But the smell was about to take you out.
“-dead about three weeks-” well that explained it. You tuned in and out of the briefing and made your way over to the body. Chris handed you a pair of gloves as you kneeled down and examined the stab wounds. “Talk about overkill.”
“Yes, he was stabbed twenty-eight times, which indicates a heightened level of aggression and emotion. If the android is involved it’s definitely deviant.” You jumped at the sound of Connor’s voice and slapped his arm.
“Jeez, give a girl some warning. I didn’t even hear you walk up.” Connor didn’t even flinch at the slap, if anything it might have hurt you more.
His head was tilted again and you actively had to shred up the thought that it was a cute habit. In reality, you were aware he was probably just recalibrating or scanning his environment. “Apologies Detective, I’ll make my presence known next time.” Then without warning he walked up to the murder weapon, dipped his fingers in the blood and-
Yeah, you were going to throw up.
“The fuck are you doing?” For once you weren’t opposed to Hank’s vulgarity. That was disgusting, you can’t believe Connor just licked the blood. Like it was fucking ice cream!
His LED stuttered from a calm blue to an alarmed yellow for a moment before settling back on blue. “I was designed to sample evidence detectives, my tongue has all the capabilities of a crime lab but with instantaneous results. Apologies for the alarm, I’ll make sure to give you a warning next time.”
Hank nodded, “Whatever, just… no more sticking evidence in your mouth.” Connor nodded and you asked if anything useful came out of that disgusting display.
“The blood belongs to Carlos Ortiz and is approximately nineteen days old.” You shook your head, “so nothing useful then?”
Connor frowned as you and Hank turned towards each other and effectively dismissed him. “There’s no fingerprints.” That gets your attention. “They could have worn gloves,” you and Hank both say it practically at the same time.
Connor shakes his head. “There’s no fibers or any traces of gloves used to cover fingerprints. I’m also seeing traces of thirium around the body.” You gave him a disbelieving look as you gazed at the ground. Blood, porno mags, old beer cans. No bright blue android blood in sight.
“Uh, Con, I’m not seeing anything. Hank?” He just shook his head and kept glaring at the android.
“You wouldn’t be able to see it detectives. After a few hours, thirium, what you call blue blood, becomes invisible to the naked eye.”
Hank nods, “You seeing anything else?” Connor nods his head and begins moving towards the kitchen. Hank goes back to the body to talk to Chris. Your curiosity gets the best of you and you follow Connor. He stops to look through the house before coming to a dead stop in the middle of the kitchen and just staring.
“Connor?” You wave your hand in front of his unseeing eyes. “Con-con? C-man? Connorific? Okay.” You had about a million more god awful nicknames up your sleeve but he was obviously up to something. You left him alone in the kitchen and turned down the hallway. It looked like Carlos’s bed was in a corner adjacent to the living room, you could only assume that this would be a bathroom.
Instinct stopped you in front of the curtains at the end of the hallway. To your left there was clear marking where a ladder should be. You slowly popped open your holster and reached towards the curtains. Your hands grasped the edges gently and you pulled-
“Jesus!” At the end of the hall you could hear some rookies laughing at you. You’d just gotten a heart attack from a bunch of brooms. Real professional Y/N, yeah you’re a real badass. You flipped off the uniformed cops and shoved your way through the bathroom door. “That was so embarrassing!” You screwed your eyes shut as your head thumped against the door frame. After a few deep breaths you finally looked around.
“What the fuck?” The words were whispered as you took in the decrepit bathroom. rA9 was carved into the walls and there was human blood surrounding a crudely carved deity. It looked almost like a sacrificial shrine. What could an android pray to? You kneeled down in front of the statuette to try and get a better look at it.
You didn’t realize you’d asked the question out loud until Connor answered and effectively destroyed your blood pressure. “Androids can’t pray or feel emotions. They deviate and experience glitches in their software that make them think they’re feelings.” You jumped at the unexpected sound of his voice. You would have fallen from your squatted position were it not for the gentle hand steadying your shoulder. Connor offered you a diplomatic hand up and you took it. Ignoring how nice his hand felt in your own. If an android is making me feel weak in the knees I really need to stop turning Reed’s offer down. The idea of actually going on a date with Gavin made your knees shake for other more insidious reasons.
“I believe that I have figured out how the murder took place, detective.” Connor was staring at you and you nearly mushed his face away so you didn’t have to look into his stupid puppy dog eyes.
“Alright, let’s see what you’ve got.” He led the way out of the bathroom and into the kitchen. “Hank!” Hank dismissed Chris and made his way over to the two of you. “Connor thinks he’s got it figured out.” A smug, almost amused expression came over Andersons face as he told Connor to give it his best shot.
“The struggle started here,” he moves towards the counter. “The victim attacked and damaged the android with a baseball bat. The android grabbed a knife and stabbed the victim. The victim struggled and tripped his way into the living room.” You’d made your way to the body and he kneeled in front of it. His head was tilted again as he examined Carlos and then he stood. “The android finished him off here and then used his blood to write this message ‘I Am Alive.’”
Hank seemed begrudgingly impressed. “Not bad, for a plastic doll.” You would have been shocked at his semi praise if you weren’t constructing your own mental image of what took place. Connor had said there were no prints going out the backyard, your mind went back to the missing ladder in the hallway.
Going to the kitchen you ignored Hank's questions as you set the chair up underneath the attic door. You’d seen the ads for the Eden Club, the disturbing pictures of nude women all over the victims fridge, his strange fascination with pleasure androids. You could only imagine the disturbing torture this poor android went through being under Carlos Ortiz’s care. It was hard not to have sympathy for it. If this was a normal case it’d be labeled as self-defense. Self defense after years of domestic and emotional abuse. A human would have an indisputable defense, an android gets deactivated and dissected. It didn’t sit right with you.
In fact, it really pissed you off.
“Detective, if I may?” Connor stopped you before you could climb the chair and instead got up and opened the attic.
“What are you two doing?”
Both you and Connor whipped around towards Hank like toddlers with their hands caught in the cookie jar. “Checking a hunch.”
“Uh-huh, just- just be careful.” Hank gave the both of you a disbelieving look and walked away. Connor made his way up to the attic and pulled himself up gracefully. He surprised you as you stepped up on the chair and offered you his hand. You grasped onto the edge of the attic entrance and prepared to pull yourself up, only to be cut off by your own yelp as Connor practically threw you inside. Android strength never failed to surprise you.
His hands were on your arms as he stabilized you before telling you in a hushed whisper to be quiet. “If you didn’t fucking throw me in here like I’m a flying squirrel I would be quiet,” you whisper shouted back at him. He ignored you as he moved through the attic.
You saw a shadow play across the curtain and on instinct alone your gun was in your hand. Your heart went out to the android but you weren’t risking anything with a deviant.
Connor motioned you behind him, you complied only because you thought a deviant would respond better to another android. A good call when out of nowhere an HK400 jumped out from a pile of boxes covered in blood. “Please,” he sounded so sad. So disparaged, your heart aches for him knowing what his fate would inevitably be. “Don’t tell them.”
“Connor, wait-“
“It’s in here!”
“Well I’ll be damned. Chris, get your ass over here!” You shook your head in disappointment, reaching for the android, ignoring the look of utter betrayal he was shooting at Connor, and you cuffed him. Connor grabbed him from you to direct him out of the attic. You ignored Connor and the strained praise Hank directed towards him as you directed the android to a patrol car.
“I’ll go in first, see how he responds.” Hank nodded as you made your way into the interrogation room.
“Hello, I don’t see a name in this file. Were you registered one?” Nothing, he just kept rocking back and forth. You’d seen this before in victims of domestic violence, rape, assault, other crimes of that ilk. It was jarring seeing something meant to be emotionless and empty showing such clear signs of PTSD. “Would you like to tell me what happened three weeks ago?”
He flinched at the mention of that night. “Or,” a brief look in your direction, “we could talk about something else.” That gained his attention.
“What is Detecive Y/L/N doing?” Connor was analyzing the androids stress levels and frowned at your method of interrogation. You were human, of course you wouldn’t be aware that you needed to stress the android out, not comfort it. Still, this wasn’t an efficient use of time or effort and Connor would prefer to deal with the deviant himself.
“She’s doing her job,” it was clear the Lieutenant was still not happy with Connors presence, briefly on the side of his vision he could see a new objective appear.
IMPROVE RELATIONSHIP WITH LIEUTENANT
He’d deal with that after the deviant. His attention moved back to you. “You were pre-owned. Were you a gift or purchased by Carlos? Do you have any memories of who you belonged to before?” Analyzing you he could see an elevated heart rate and a spike in your cortisol levels. You were quickly becoming frustrated with the one-way conversation. “Look, I’m trying to help you. They’re going to deactivate you and disassemble you. I’m trying to understand your side of things so maybe, just maybe, I can help you out. Get you out of this mess.”
The lack of response once again frustrated you. “I don’t even know why she’s bothering. Just shut the damn thing down and move on.” Connor hadn’t had time to deduce the reason Detective Reed had joined in the interrogation room, but judging on his elevated heart rate and testosterone spike when you spoke to him, Gavin was attracted to you physically.
“CyberLife sent me to catch deviants so they can better understand where the problem in their programming is coming from. I need all the information we can get from this HK400 to better understand the causes of deviancy and prevent them from occurring again.”
Before Gavin could respond you walked into the room. He’d been too distracted to notice that you had stopped interrogating the deviant. “Send Connor in.”
“Y/N?” You dismissed Hank with a wave of you hand and motioned for Connor to head to the other room.
“What’s the point? Why don’t you just rough it up a bit, it’s not human.” You rolled your eyes and tensed up at Gavin’s voice. Connor didn’t need an analysis to understand that you were uncomfortable around him.
“There’s no point, androids don’t feel pain. You would only damage it, and that wouldn’t make it talk. I could try questioning it, it might respond better to an android rather than a human.”
Hank and Y/N shared a look that Connor couldn’t analyze before Hank shrugged and waved his hand. “What have we got to lose?”
“They will deactivate you!” Connors' voice wasn't exactly made for threatening someone. It was kind of like a toddler threatening to tell their mom what you did. You could tell from Hank's face he was thinking the same thing and you were about five seconds away from caving Gavin’s face in if he kept making fun of Connor. You couldn’t help but want to defend him, he just had one of those faces you wanted to protect. Probably a purposeful move on CyberLife’s part.
“Do you understand that?” Oh, damn. You rescind all previous statements. Connor seemed to realize his method wasn’t working out, somehow his voice had gotten deeper, more husky. There was a small, eensy part of you that wouldn’t hate being in those handcuffs right now.
Android. He’s an android that’s probably built like a Ken doll. Get yourself under control.
You’d been a bit preoccupied being a pent-up horn dog to realize the deviant had started speaking. “I was scared… so I hid.”
“I’m done.”
“Well I’ll be damned, the bastard actually did it.”
Shit, you’d missed the whole thing. You’d have to go back and watch the tape later, and probably take a cold shower, because what the hell is wrong with you.
You made your way to the interrogation room, Chris took his cuffs out to take the android back to lock up. “Leave me alone!” He shoved away from Chris and curled up into himself.
“The fucks wrong with it?” Everything Gavin said made you want to run his face over a cheese grater.
Connor moved forward, “You shouldn’t touch it. It will self-destruct if it feels damaged.”
“Stay out of this, got it? No fuckin android is gonna tell me what to do.” You pushed forward and pulled Gavin back by the shoulder.
“Maybe listen to the fucking android dipshit, I think he’d have a lot more experience then you on the subject.”
Gavin shoved you off, “Get a fucking move on Chris!” Your hip slammed into the corner of the table and you were momentarily crippled by the pain. That’s gonna hurt like a bitch later!
You gently grabbed Chris’s arm and pulled him away from the android. “I can’t let you do that! If it self-destructs we’ll never get anything out of it!” Connor had positioned himself between the android and Gavin.
And then Gavin, supreme douchebag he is, pulls his gun, ignoring Hank's warning and completely violating protocol. You don’t even think before moving Connor behind you and drawing your own firearm.
“I said that’s enough!” Gavin looked towards Hank, both you and your partner had your guns pointed at him. Gavin pitched a fit before storming out of the interrogation room. Connor moved to comfort the android before giving Chris instructions on how to deal with him.
There was a heavy feeling of shame weighing upon your shoulders as you watched him walk towards the door. He paused and looked at Connor, “The truth is inside.”

Cockwarming with sub!Connor Rk800?
Connor loves cockwarming!!! Giving or receiving he doesn’t care, he sees it as a win-win because that means he could have your cock inside him while he gets work done. Or at least as much as he can before asking you to fuck him <3
Receiving
As stated he sees cockwarming as a huge win. He gets to have your cock in him AND he gets to work, absolutely no downside whatsoever…he’s fine with getting his work done for the most part! It’s just the second you start gently fucking into him and claiming to just be ‘adjusting’ is when he starts to lose his composure. It starts off small at first, small whines here and there, gripping the desk a little too hard, but then it turns into full blown moaning by the time you’ve stopped pretending to be adjusting and start fucking him in earnest. He looks so fucked out while begging for you to cum inside him, to completely ruin his insides. And now what kind of person would you be to ignore him when he’s asking so nicely?
Giving
Connor isn’t keen on giving as much as he loves to receive but he isn’t opposed to it at all! He finds it so hard to focus on anything that isn’t you though, as you slightly grind against him, he’s holding a near death grip on your waist to stop himself from moving too much and distracting you from your task. It’s much easier to make him crumble when he’s giving, the slightest movement makes him buck his hips in an attempt to bury himself deeper. he loves the feeling of his cock inside you <3 and after a bit he’ll definitely start begging to be allowed to fuck you properly. Once you finally let him, he’s moaning out ‘thank you’s and and pleads for permission to cum, he wants to fill you up so bad <3

Happy Valentines Day
(Connor Rk800 x Fem Reader)
Warnings: Idk NSFW so 18+
Word count: 2422
Summary: It's Valentine's Day and instead of making Connor dinner you let him fuck your brains out.
A/N: This took way longer than it should have. It's pretty mid.
Tags: If you're still interested @joelsfavoritegirl
You were a festive person. Always have and always will be. Valentine's was your favorite holiday not only because of the pink and red strewn across supermarkets and stores but because it was a day of love: a reason to celebrate you and Connor’s union. You were sentimental. Sensitive and a bit of a sappy girl when it came to things like that. Connor was fully aware of it. He made note of it when you first got together. How you pouted up at him. Your bottom lip jutting out slightly covered in your lipgloss. When things didn’t go your way your pretty doe eyes would water with tears and coat your spiky lashes. Seeing you so whiney and needy all the time was an adorable sight. Especially when it came to him. You’d pout every time he had to leave for the DPD every morning. Today was no different.
“Do you have to go?” You fluttered your lashes up at him.
Connor turned his head to look at you while he did his tie. His hands skilfully mastered it. He felt his resolve waver seeing you so like that. You’d just gotten up. Hair was a bit messy, eyes a bit tired but what you wore got him. It was the babydoll nightdress. Baby pink in color and the cups on it hugged your tits so nicely. It was sheer and cut off at the top of your plush thighs. He had to resist throwing you on the bed and just fucking your brains out. Poor baby girl didn’t know what you were doing to him.
“I have to. Hank needs me for another case. Plus who’s gonna make enough money to take care of you?” He cooed down at you with his signature smirk.
You huffed out a sigh nodding in understanding. “Okay but are you gonna be home on time to celebrate? To eat dinner and do….other activities?” You blushed at the hint you threw out. Connor had been balls deep inside of you, lapped viciously at your pussy, and had you whining and calling him daddy yet you were still so timid. He nodded his head trying to hide his amusement at your shyness.
“Of course,” He smoothed out his jacket and reached a hand out to you. He cupped your face, his thumb brushing your cheek and relishing in its softness. “I’ll never keep you waiting. You know that.” He leaned down and placed a peck on your lips. He could taste that lingering lip balm on you. Cherry. You always had to have it cherry-flavored. He licked his lips tasting it and hummed. He reluctantly let you go as soon as he felt his cock begin to throb to life. Just kissing you was enough to send him into a feral mood.
“I’ll see you tonight.” He promised you and grabbed his car keys leaving you wanting and yearning for him.
You filled your day with meaningful tasks despite the growing ache of Connor leaving you high and dry. You were dedicated to making this Valentine’s Day one he would remember.
You had decorated your shared home in heart-shaped garlands and had a few scented candles going. If it was any other Valentine’s Day involving a human with functioning organs then you would have made a delicious meal and set wine out. However, this was Connor an RK800 model who didn’t need food or water to keep functioning. So you had to get creative which was why when he came home he was happy to see the festive decor, the soft glow of the candles around the living room, and the trail of petals leading to the bedroom.
You knew it was a bit cheesy of a tactic and overused but what other things could you have possibly used as a romantic trial? Connor had come home with flowers and of course, a gift for you held in the other hand. “Y/N…” He called out softly as he pushed open the bedroom door. If he had lungs they would have surely strained and stopped his breathing. He’d seen you in proactive wear before but this was the cherry on top.
You sat knelt on the plush soft bed with each leg under you. You wore a babydoll lingerie top that cupped your breasts, making them sit so pretty on your chest. The top was thin, sheer, and baby pink bringing out the color of your skin. A pretty bow sat in the middle between the valley of your breast effectively accentuating your body. A thong was keeping your pretty puffy lips in place from falling out. Connor could see you went all out this year. He set the gifts for you on the dresser and walked meaningfully towards you.
“You like it?” You giggled softly a playful smirk on your pouty lips. Connor sat down next to you, the bed dipping in the process. “Of course I do sweetie.” He moved your hair aside with his hand and leaned in kissing you on the exposed skin of your neck. You inhaled sharply your eyes softening and body feeling like putty.
Connor was programmed to analyze and interrogate deviants. So, naturally, he was able to figure out what aroused you and what didn’t. He knew of all the special spots on your lovely skin. His lips skilfully kissed your neck leaving hot wet kisses. You mewled delightfully for him making his cock harden.
He leaned into your ear whispering, “You sound so fucking pretty.”
It caused a pink shade to cover your supple cheeks. He never ceased to make you blush even when he wasn’t trying to fuck you.
“Lay down, I wanna taste you.” He lightly pushed you down to lay on the bed. Your hair was sprawled across the sheets and your arms were at your side. Connor spread your legs and dragged you towards the edge of the bed. He kneeled before you, slipping your thong off. His fingers skillfully spread your puffy folds revealing your wet slick cunt.
“I haven’t even touched you and you're already soaking.” He smiled cruelly at you.
“Connor…” You whined out, hips bucking up to get him to taste you, finger you, anything.
He laughed at your desperation, “Always so needy.” Connor didn’t want to give in to you just yet. He wanted to draw it out, have you begging for him to touch you. His plans quickly changed when he saw your pleading eyes and fluttering lashes. You looked so docile and cute that he couldn’t help but give in.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.” He spread your pussy folds further getting a good look at how drenched you were before giving you a long lick. He was hungry for you, tongue swirling around your clit and lapping at your puffy folds.
“Fuck C-Connor-” Your moans were broken and rough as he continued his assault. Your eyes rolled back and your hands immediately tugged on his hair.
“You taste so good.” He muttered the vibrations of his voice over your clit caused you to throw your head back.
He took your whines as fuel and dipped his tongue deep inside your hole. He groaned feeling it grip and clench, greedy for anything to fill it. He retracted his tongue humming and relishing in the sweet taste of your juices.
“Shh baby you’re doing so good for me.” He cooed to you and before you could reply he plunged two long and slender fingers into you. You gasped for air, body squirming under him. He had to hold you in place to keep you from moving.
“Connor I-I think I’m gonna cum-” You choked out, voice cut off by his fingers slipping out with a loud squelch. He smirked down at you and you knew he’d refuse to give you an orgasm. At least not with his fingers.
“Connor, please.” You whined out for him desperately clawing at his trousers and tugging his belt. You wanted to see him, stop this torture, and have him fuck you raw.
He smiled down at you, tilting his head slightly to the side. “You’re so needy Y/N.” Connor slapped his hand down on your cunt making you yelp. It came out breathy and far from painful. His hand smacked you again, hitting deliciously against your throbbing clit.
Connor engrained your reaction into his hardware, studying, and learning. He yanked off your babydoll lingerie, pulling it over your head and leaving you in nothing but your bare skin.
Connor was quick, fingers deftly opening each button of his shirt. His belt was next, his hands deftly moving to unbuckle it. He threw it on the floor, making it clang against the hardwood. He pushed down his trousers and underwear down and his face fell in relief. His cock sprang free, the head was swollen and leaking pre cum.
At the sight of it, you felt your hole flutter and clench around nothing. You squirmed on the bed, withering in need. “Connor please, please, I’ve been a good. girl” You mewled out, batting your sweet lashes up at him.
There was something so thrilling and almost primal about you laying before him so vulnerable. The way you begged for his cock had him hardening even more. You never ceased to make his heart clench and cock jump from how sweet you were.“Shh, baby it's okay. I’ll give this pussy what it needs.” He cooed to you so softly.
Connor pumped his cock a few times, his pre cum seeping from the tip and spreading over his shaft. He pushed your legs up to your chest and lined his cock up to your hole. He could see your pretty pussy tighten up in anticipation. An amused exhale left his nose as he looked up into your eyes. They were foggy, glassy with lust and pure need.
Connor pushed the head of his cock in and he groaned, hand coming down to the side of your head to brace himself. He gripped the bedsheets below you two and his face scrunched up in restraint. He knew first penetration was always hard for you. Your poor pussy couldn’t take so much cock so he had to take his time. He struggled to keep his composure and just thrust his full length into you. He knew if he did you'd cry out, sob, and claw at him. It was thrilling.
He sighed out and smoothed the skin on your hip with his palm. "Relax baby." With each second that passed he slipped in further and further in taking his time to stretch you out.
You were a mess below him, clawing at his shoulders and back. If he were human you would be sure he'd have red claw marks on his porcelain skin.
You panted like a bitch in heat, cunt clamping hard on him. “M-more, more Connor, I can take it.” You pouted up to him.
Connor chuckled at your bold statement. “You can take it huh?”
“Y-yeah I can take it-”
Connor slammed his cock into you causing a yelp to escape your throat. The big stretch was painful as his tip bumped your cervix. Your body jolted upwards away from him but he just pulled his cock out and shoved it in again.
“Thought you could take it, princess. This is what you’ve been whining about?” Connor smiled down at you cruelly. He folded you in half, pushing your legs farther up to your chest. His cock slipped further in, making a lewd squelching sound.
“Y-yes!” You cried out in response.
“Then stop fucking complaining and take my cock like a good girl.” Connor leaned down and kissed you roughly, tongue slipping into your mouth. His hand gripped your chin as he pumped his cock into you.
His heavy balls slapped against the plump flesh of your ass. The noise echoed around the room, bouncing off the walls and into your ear. Your juices leaked out of your cunt, coating his cock and dripping down his balls. He could feel it warm them and groaned into your mouth. He pulled back from the kiss, leaning his forehead against yours. “That’s my good princess, fuck clench down just like that.”
You blushed, your pussy clamping down on him just from the compliment. “Ahh! Mphm! Fuck…Connor!” You were loud letting high-pitched moans fall from your pouty lips. Your eyes rolled back and you bit down on your lip relishing in the sweet bliss of his cock.
“Don’t do that. I wanna hear you.” Connor smacked your face lightly and you released your bottom lip from your teeth.
“C-Connor I’m not gonna- I can’t-” Your words were chopped up, as you struggled to speak. They came out in whiney babbles and Connor couldn’t help but become amused. He thought you looked so cute like that. Your face controted into pleasure, words not even forming sentences just sounds. He loved seeing you completely drunk on his cock.
“Good girl, just like that.” He praised you. He pressed the pad of his thumb to your swollen clit, rubbing slow and tight circles around it. You cried out, clawing at his back. Your bambi eyes brimmed with tears. You blinked, lashes fluttering and coated in the wetness. Fat tears rolled down your pink cheeks as you came.
Connor noticed but didn't fret. You would cry often due to the pure delight of cumming. He leaned down, cooing to you and licking them up with his tongue. He could taste the bitter and salty flavor of your tears.
That simple act made your walls clench down on his throbbing cock. Your legs locked him in place, wrapped around his waist and not letting him retract further than he should. He pounded into your soaking wet heat. “Fuck!” He cursed as you milked his cock. One final thrust into your spongy sweet spot had Connor spilling ropes of cum deep into your pussy. He gave a few sloppy thrusts helping you both ride out your orgasms. Your cream and his cum oozed out as he pushed his cock deep in, making it overflow and spill. You poor pussy was a mess. All fucked out and painted white.
Connor panted for a few seconds but recovered quickly due to his android body. He placed sweet soft kisses on your red cheeks and your forehead. “You did so good for me baby.” His voice was soft and sweet as he spoke.
You smiled up at him, panting softly, “Happy Valentine's Day.”

Crossover??
Hey, I know I've got requests waiting but I am being worked like a dog and have no motivation, I will get to them this summer in June! (which I know is a long way away, I'm sorry)
Was playing Detroit: Become Human and the Last of Us this week and I was thinking about how cool it would be to kinda have a crossover?
Say the whole android revolution takes place in or pre-2003, (on a whim that in this fictional story, society was more developed in 2003), and then the outbreak happens. Reader worked alongside Connor and Hank on the deviant case, and we'd probably get the ending where the revolution failed. Dum dum dum, outbreak happens, Reader, Connor and Hank are separated.
Reader ends up in the Boston quarantine zone and meets Joel, romance ensues. 2023, they're on their journey to get Ellie to the fireflies and meet Tommy in Wyoming. Reader, Joel and Ellie encounter Connor. (who as an android looks pretty much the same, maybe a little rugged, compared to a matured reader who would most likely be in her 40s?)
I know a lot of you like a younger reader (trust me, i do too, i live for that shit, seriously like 20s reader and 50s Joel drives me feral, as a girl with daddy issues), so to accommodate the younger!reader aspect I could write it as reader in her mid/late 30s, and she was a teenager during the outbreak, maybe even Hank's daughter who was a little too involved in policing because she couldn't mind her own business.
Either way, I think Hank would be dead, Connor and Reader would have a tense but emotional reunion because they went through a lot together, I think I'd write deviant Connor or the idea that Connor was always a deviant from the beginning. I also like the idea, whether reader is in her 30s or 40s, that her and Joel have a kid together, too. If she's in her 40s, the kid could be a teenager around Ellie's age and tagging along with them, if she's in her 30s, maybe she's pregnant or something like that (someone give me an idea for this. I would like the idea of Joel and reader having a child younger than 10, but I feel like this would be unrealistic on their journey with Ellie). Either way, the whole kid thing kinda showcases a progression in life that Connor won't have as an android.
If reader is in her 40s, maybe I could sneak in a past crush she had on Connor, or some kind of unspoken connection they had that could've never come to a relationship due to their difference in species. Same with 30s reader, but I think I'd go more along the lines of she had a crush on him and looked up to him, as she would be a teenager during the rebellion times. I could clarify a bond between them, but nothing mutually romantic as that is creepy, and I think it's pretty normal for a teenage girl to have crushes. (i did, but I also have problems lmfao, she probably does too because hello???? she saw a rebellion and then an APOCALYPSE)
I WANT TO WRITE THIS SO BAD LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT. COMMENT, MESSAGE ME, ANYTHING, PLEASE.

Hello! My name is Chloe.
I hope you enjoy this story.
━━━━━━◎━━━━━━
“Where are you going, Lieutenant?”
Hank grunted something unintelligible and got out of the car. Seconds later, the RK800 model android was on his heels.
“Why did we stop here, Lieutenant Anderson?” Connor asked. “We’re still halfway to the police station, and we need to get this case’s evidence there as quickly as possible.”
“I know, I know…” Hank muttered, waving a dismissive hand. “Just… be quiet for a minute. This won’t take long.”
With that, Hank pushed the store door open carelessly. Connor stayed outside, gathering and organizing information to figure out why Lt. Anderson was entering a perfume shop. They needed to stay focused on the investigation. It was the top priority, especially since, despite more deviant cases arising, they hadn’t made any significant progress. And Connor was sure that entering a perfume shop wouldn’t help them get any closer to solving the case. Processing this in a matter of milliseconds, Connor decided to follow Hank in and try to persuade him to leave. The lieutenant was already near one of the shelves and dismissing assistance from a female android. As Connor got close enough to tap his shoulder, Hank turned abruptly and placed a square box into the hand he had extended.
“Since you’re here, do me a favor and pay for this.”
Connor looked at the box in his hand. The packaging was a reflective purple adorned with stars and nebulas. The words “Nebula Spray” were printed on one side. His analysis program ran immediately, displaying information about the product:
“Perfume ‘Nebula Spray’
Feminine fragrance
Produced by: QCE Cosmetics
Manufacture date: 07/25/2038
Expiration date: 07/25/2043
Sold at 256 distribution points
Average price: $30.00 to $45.00”
Why was Hank buying a feminine fragrance? It wasn’t a lead related to the deviant cases, nor was it something that suited him.
“It’s for the inspector,” Hank answered before Connor could question him again. “It’s her birthday this week.”
“Oh.”
Information about the inspector quickly appeared in his interface. She was the one who worked with them on the deviant cases. She was considered too young for the position, but Connor could attest she was one of the most intelligent humans he’d met. Moreover, of everyone in the Police Department, she had been the only one to treat him well from the beginning. While that had been convenient for Connor, he soon realized that she didn’t just treat him kindly.
She treated him as an equal. As human.
Hank grumbled, snatching the perfume back from Connor’s hand and heading to the counter.
“Damn, they could’ve sent this android with a bit of cash.”
“Actually, I do have access to a Cyberlife bank account, Lieutenant. However, those funds are for emergency use only, and exclusively for the investigation.”
Hank muttered a few more curses and completed the purchase, returning with a floral-patterned package and plenty of tissue paper.
“And you?” Hank asked. “What are you going to get her?”
“Get?”
“For her birthday, for god’s sake. Are you deaf, or did they wipe your memory in the time it took me to get to the counter?”
“But…” Connor was completely lost. “Giving the inspector a birthday present will help with the investigation?”
“Ugh…” Hank pressed a hand to his face, dragging it down. “Weren’t you the one who came into the damn Police Department going on about ‘if we’re going to work together, it’s essential we get to know each other to build a good relationship’? Remembering her birthday and giving her a gift is the least you could do.”
Him? Give her a gift?

What could he possibly give her?

“So…” Connor began slowly. “Buying her a gift is important for the investigation, right?”

Hank looked at him expressionless, and when the android thought the lieutenant was about to respond, Hank let out a long, noisy sigh and said: “Ah, I need a beer…”
Connor observed the partially frozen river. Behind him, sitting on the back of a bench, Hank was finishing off his second beer bottle. The android turned to face him.
“Lieutenant—”
“Ah, give it a rest!” Hank shouted, waving the bottle aggressively in Connor’s direction. “Cut me some slack, will ya? We’ve been stuck on this damn deviant investigation for weeks. I’m sick of these damn androids, I’m exhausted… So shut your trap and let me take a break, at least until the weekend.”
Hank took three loud gulps and smacked his lips. Clearly tired, he muttered, “The inspector’s birthday is this week, and… that kid hasn’t smiled properly in months. She needs something to cheer her up. So don’t mess it up and do something to help, damn it.”
Connor was programmed to identify emotional emulations in deviants. Because of this, it was easy to detect emotions in their original source. He knew there was something different about the way Lieutenant Anderson interacted with his subordinate. In a subtle and somewhat clumsy way, Connor had already detected several signs of affection from Hank toward the inspector. And even though there was affection, he always noticed a hint of melancholy in the lieutenant when he showed care and concern for her. So, it made sense for Hank to be in this state.
“So… Have you decided on a gift?” Hank asked, looking up.
“Do I really need to buy her a gift?”
“It would be best if you actually wanted to give her a gift.”
“Want to?”

“But, Lieutenant… What I want isn’t important.”
“Yes, it is, Connor!” Hank shouted, slamming both his hand and the bottle onto the bench’s backrest as he stood up. “She’s going to want a gift that you want to give her.”

“Why would she want a gift from me?”
Hank let out a deep sigh and staggered toward the android, placing one hand on his shoulder and staring deeply into his eyes. “A person’s birthday is an important date, and not many people make a point of remembering it, let alone celebrating it these days. But a birthday is a day that should be remembered. And we should tell people that we remember it and, more importantly, that we want to celebrate it with them. And one way to do that is by giving a gift.”
“But why should I remember her and celebrate with her?”
Hank lowered his head for a moment before lifting it again. With the hand still holding the beer bottle, he raised his finger, almost poking Connor’s right eye.
“Because… We remember and celebrate with people we care about.”
“People we care about.”

“So you’re saying I should care about her?”
The lieutenant staggered back to the bench and collapsed onto the seat.
“Don’t you already care about her?” he teased, taking three long gulps from the bottle.

“But caring is an emotion,” Connor countered. “Androids that emulate human emotions are deviants. I am not a deviant.”

Hank looked him up and down with a hint of disdain. Tilting his head to the left, then to the right, he finally stood up again, spun on his heels, and began shuffling towards the square behind the walkway they were on.
“Ah, you know what? Screw it. Whatever. Just don’t go ruining things on her birthday, or I’ll make sure you shove this investigation up where the sun don’t shine.”
“Where?” Connor asked, genuinely confused.
Hank stopped in his tracks and looked at the RK800 model for a moment. Connor blinked, waiting for an answer. Shaking his head, the lieutenant simply resumed his shuffling, saying nothing. Connor watched Hank walk away as conflicting information buzzed through his processor. The LED on his left temple turned yellow for a second. His priority was to advance the investigation. However, neither Hank nor the inspector seemed emotionally stable enough to continue. After all, humans did get tired. A bit of fun would recharge their energy. So, wouldn’t it be useful for the investigation if he gave the inspector a gift?
“She’s going to want a gift that you want to give her.”
Well, he wanted to continue the investigation. And if the gift helped with that…
Connor’s LED spun and blinked three times, finally staying yellow. An image replaced the view of the river: the inspector’s smiling face. His processor expanded the scene, showing that she was at police headquarters. Automatically activating a simulation, Connor saw Hank enter his field of vision and hand her the perfume.
Connor received the package, and the simulation showed a huge smile appearing on her face. The inspector would throw her arms up and hug her superior energetically. Excited, she would turn her attention to the gift, unwrap it, and her face would brighten even more.
I wanted… I wanted her to smile like that because of me.
Connor couldn’t detect where that command had come from. Was that… a command? Was it… What… FGHEUALANSHGFH…
A desire.

Connor automatically moved to the bench and sat down. The desire swelled like a balloon, overshadowing any orders or commands he had been programmed for.
His LED blinked and, at times, turned yellow. Following this new and strange feeling, Connor delved into his database to gather useful information about the inspector to help him choose a gift. Conversations he had overheard, search histories from her computer and phone, shopping history…
Being the RK800 model had its perks. He was processing 37 conversations simultaneously when something caught his attention: the inspector had recently accessed some lingerie store websites. Connor pulled up the meaning of the word as he analyzed the audio.
It was a conversation the inspector had with a friend in the department, Lilith Watson. Connor had only been able to overhear it.
“So… do you think it’s worth a try?”
“Of course! You need to spice up the relationship. If you take the initiative, he’ll like it. Men like women who are bold… at least in that aspect.”
“I don’t know… I don’t think just this will be enough. And besides… I’m really self-conscious.”
“About what, girl?”
“Everything. My body. The way I handle things. I still get nervous about taking my clothes off! I’m not sure if lingerie will magically make me look good.”
“Girl, where did you get that idea? You’re a queen!”
“Right. But that’s not the only problem, Lili. Lingerie is expensive! It’s not exactly in my budget right now…”
At the end of the audio, combining the conversation with concepts and more browsing history, Connor generated a new piece of information:
• The inspector has a boyfriend.
When this information in particular was computed, Connor’s blinking tic triggered again. His LED flashed yellow and blinked rapidly. A strange, uncomfortable feeling was associated with the thought of her having a boyfriend. But Connor had no idea what it could be. So, he continued the listing.
• She has an intimate relationship with the boyfriend.
Yellow LED. More involuntary blinking. The feeling was still there, growing.

^ There is something wrong with their relationship.
• She will try to resolve it by buying lingerie.
• She doesn’t have enough money to buy it.
Now, more to escape the discomfort than to make progress, Connor returned to the database—but not before finalizing a gift option:
Gift a set of lingerie.

The next wave of information didn’t seem useful at all. One, three, five minutes passed, and no other relevant data came to mind. Still running the search, Connor gazed at the lake. At least he had a solid gift option. However, just as he processed that thought, a new piece of information caused his LED to flash red.
He would need money to get her the gift. Money that CyberLife only allocated for investigation purposes.
RK800 #313 248 317-51

Connor reconsidered the situation for the umpteenth time. Was giving a gift really necessary? His job required a high level of human alignment and good relationships… But wasn’t a gift going too far?
Maybe it was best not to give anything.
RK800 #313 248 317-51

But almost immediately, an alternative came to mind. Before his eyes, much like commands, the word “hack” appeared. Of course… If he hacked the system, he could buy anything and edit the purchase information to avoid suspicion. Slowly, still not understanding the force driving him, the RK800 model activated the hacking program. His LED stayed red throughout the process.

━━━━━━◎━━━━━━
Ten minutes to eight, Connor passed through the entrance to Police Headquarters, carrying a beautifully wrapped package in his hands. The gift was wrapped in baby pink paper with a salmon ribbon handle and a matching bow in the shape of a flower. Instead of holding it by the handle, however, the android carried it rigidly on his open palm, as if he were handling something very delicate and important. Connor walked straight to Hank’s desk and, to his surprise (and the rest of the office’s), the lieutenant’s car keys and wallet were already there. A series of unusual sounds coming from the cafeteria caught the attention of the RK800 model, drawing him in. A group of seven officers was busy decorating the limited cafeteria space, hanging ornaments and balloons, and stacking disposable plates and cups on the counter. Among them, Connor recognized Hank. He was helping Lilith set up an arrangement of balloons in a high spot, steadying a swivel chair for her to climb. It didn’t take long for the lieutenant to notice his case partner standing motionless at the cafeteria entrance. Chuckling, Hank approached him.
“I’m surprised to see you here already, Lieutenant. It’s still early,” Connor noted.
“And I’m surprised you showed up with this,” Hank replied, giving the package Connor held a slight tap. There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice, but soon enough, a small smile crept onto the corner of his mouth.
“Well done,” Hank said, stepping back toward the cafeteria interior. “Leave it here and come help.”
“No!” Lilith suddenly appeared between the two, looking straight at the android. “You’re on lookout duty for the birthday girl. We’ll give you a signal when we’re ready. If she gets here early, come up with a distraction. If the signal’s already given, make up an excuse and bring her here without raising suspicion.”
Connor glanced at Hank, who pursed his lips and shrugged.
“Sounds like a good plan,” he commented, nodding approvingly at his partner.
“Why does it have to be this piece of plastic that greets her?”
Gavin was standing a little behind the group, his face twisted with utter disgust.
“Because,” Lilith began, not bothering to hide her irritation, “he’s the least suspicious choice, you idiot. Since when would she ever expect an android detective to be in on her surprise birthday party? Plus, he’s her partner. Only he or Lt. Anderson could pull this off without raising questions, but it’s too early for the lieutenant to be at headquarters without something exceptional going on.”
Hank let out a grumble but nodded in agreement. Gavin shot Connor a look filled with loathing before turning away, muttering, “Damn plastic.” Lilith signaled for Connor to take his position. The android left his gift with the others and positioned himself near Hank’s desk. A few minutes later, after receiving the signal that they were ready, Connor saw the inspector entering the office. She looked downcast and tired. She wore her police uniform and her usual oversized brown coat, which looked two sizes too big for her. Connor had quickly learned that she had a particular fondness for large, loose clothing.
“Good morning, Inspector,” the android greeted in his usual tone.
She jumped slightly at the sound of his voice. She looked around, startled, until she finally focused on her case partner.
“Oh. Good morning, Connor. I told you, call me by my name.”
“All right. But it just feels inappropriate in the workplace.”
The inspector shot the android an impatient look, then walked around Hank’s desk toward her own, just in front. She dropped into her chair, looking exhausted, and rested her elbows on the table, pressing her temples with a tense grip as she let out a long sigh.
“Is something wrong?” Connor asked, addressing her by name, his usual helpful tone in place. “You seem very tired.”
“Yeah… I didn’t sleep well last night.”
“Would you like a cup of coffee?”
“Coffee? Oh… Yeah. Coffee. That’d be great. And you don’t need to go get it,” she added quickly as Connor glanced in the direction of the cafeteria. “I’ll go.”
The android blinked and nodded. The young inspector walked ahead, still wearing her oversized coat, seemingly unaware of it. Silently, Connor followed her. Since she was looking down, she entered the cafeteria without noticing the crowd of people gathered by the counter. Only the shout of “Surprise!” made her raise her head. She jumped back and, dazed, saw Gavin and another officer burst confetti over her while Lilith wrapped her arms around her neck, already holding a present.
“Happy birthday, you amazing woman!” Lilith said, handing her a silver, square-wrapped package. “I hope you make good use of this.”
Connor observed her reactions carefully. He saw her initial surprise gradually turn into a dazzling smile. Even with the present in hand, she kept looking around, her eyes shining. She seemed to be wondering if she was hallucinating. A squeal of joy pierced the air as she unwrapped a brand-new pair of white wireless headphones. Lilith began listing all the headphones’ various features, only to be interrupted by Gavin, who slipped, not so discreetly, between the two of them.
“Oh, doll!” Gavin exclaimed with a hint of sarcastic pomposity he thought would make him sound funny. “It’s hard to congratulate someone who deserves it every day.”
Lilith stuck out her tongue and mimicked gagging as Gavin hugged her. Hank discreetly covered his face with his hand for a moment before rubbing it across his face. Connor didn’t move an inch; he continued analyzing the situation with full attention. He noticed the inspector’s discomfort intensifying as shown on her expression. Furthermore, the hug lasted too long, with Gavin’s arms moving strangely up and down her back. She closed her eyes tightly. Connor felt something strange in his abdomen. He had no idea what it was, but he could attest it wasn’t pleasant. The odd sensation seemed to swell until words flashed for a few moments before his eyes.
“Keep Gavin away from her.”
Connor’s LED flickered yellow for less than a second.

Gavin slowly stepped back from his colleague and raised a finger, signaling her to wait. He moved to the nearest table and picked up what was on it: a bouquet of red roses and a rectangular package. He made a flourish and offered the bouquet first. Someone in the back of the cafeteria coughed, but it sounded a lot like the word “cheesy.”
“Alright,” Gavin said, straightening his posture. “I know that was terrible. Just trying to lighten the mood.”
With that, he handed her the other package, wearing an expression that suggested he thought he was being charming with a ridiculous flirt and owning it. The inspector, visibly uncomfortable, tucked the bouquet under her left arm to take the gift. With little ceremony or enthusiasm, she tore off the gold reflective wrapping, revealing a pompous wine box.
“I chose this one because it pairs well with Gouda. I know that’s your favorite.” Gavin explained, with a falsely modest air. “And it’s one of those wines that people say are perfect to share… in private, preferably.”
The last part of his speech shattered any hint of modesty. He shot a suggestive smile at her. Connor felt that unpleasant sensation intensify even more. Lilith looked as though she could kill Gavin with a glance if he looked her way right now.
“Would it really be so bad for my disciplinary record if I shot this jerk?” Hank muttered quietly enough that only Lilith and Connor could hear.
Forcing a charming tone, the inspector asked,
“Really?” Lilith’s frown vanished into a smile of anticipation. She seemed to know what was coming. “Wow! It’ll be perfect for tonight!” She flashed a radiant smile at Gavin, who wavered, surprised it had been so easy. “I’ve got an intimate dinner planned with my boyfriend.”
Connor heard stifled laughs poorly hidden in the back of the cafeteria. Lilith turned her back and began to punch the counter in a silent fit of laughter. Hank turned aside, pressing his lips to keep from laughing approvingly. Gavin’s face twisted into another scowl. Disconcerted but desperately trying not to lose his smug attitude, he smiled sarcastically at her and said,
“So, I nailed the gift! Hope you enjoy it…”
With a nod, Lilith signaled two more colleagues to move in and pull Gavin back. When everyone else had finished giving their gifts, Hank approached with his.
“Soon enough, your hair will be the same color as mine,” Hank commented, holding out the present.
She laughed as she took the package. “Oh, shut up, Hank. I’m far from being as old as you.”
“I wouldn’t be so sure.” He pointed to the area between her eyebrows. “I’m already seeing wrinkles.”
Then she reacted unexpectedly. Connor thought she would laugh as she had before, but instead, she pressed her lips together, a faint blush on her cheeks. Yet the most unexpected detail was her eyes—they filled with tears. Why? Why would she feel embarrassed by that comment? Why the urge to cry?
In a strangely soft, even choked voice, she said, “Thank you so much, Hank. Really.” A bit awkwardly, she stepped forward and hugged him, and he reciprocated with two clumsy pats—one on her back, the other on her head.
As they parted, she began to unwrap the gift and gasped when she saw what it was.
“Hank, how did you know!?” she said, giving her partner a light punch on the shoulder and smiling. “I was running low on what you gave me last year. I really didn’t want to switch perfumes…”
Connor watched her growing excitement, and once again, a few words blinked before his eyes:
“Make her smile like this with the gift.”

The android gave in to a blinking tic, and his LED flickered yellow once again. It was his turn. Connor discreetly moved to the counter to retrieve his gift. Then he turned to the inspector, who was still talking with Hank, and approached her in the same manner. When he stood by her side with the package in hand, an unusual silence fell over the cafeteria. Gavin stared daggers at the android, unable to believe what he was seeing. She raised her eyebrows at her partner, visibly surprised.
“Happy Birthday,” Connor said in his usual tone, calling her by her name as she’d asked, while holding out the pink-wrapped package.
Still quite surprised, she accepted the gift. But before she could thank him, Gavin’s sarcastic voice shattered the silence:
“Bet this was your idea, huh, Hank?”
“I had nothing to do with it,” the lieutenant replied with a casual shrug.
“Thank you very much, Connor,” the inspector said quickly.
Everyone watched expectantly as she opened the gift. Some even leaned forward or stood on tiptoe. She pulled out a mass of tissue paper from the pink package, carefully unfolding it until…
Lilith, who was sipping a cappuccino, choked. Muffled exclamations filled the air in the cafeteria. Gavin’s jaw dropped.
“What the hell, Connor…!” Hank accidentally let slip.
“Wow!” the inspector exclaimed, trying to cover up the end of the lieutenant’s comment. “It’s a really beautiful set, Connor. And wow, you even got the color right! How did you know this was my favorite color?”
Nestled in the tissue paper lay two beautiful lingerie pieces, resting delicately. A soft, pleasant fragrance wafted from them.
“I consulted my database,” Connor replied as if he hadn’t done anything unusual. “I knew you planned to buy one because I overheard you talking with Detective Watson.” Connor paused, his expression shifting slightly, as though somewhat unsettled. “I apologize if that was inappropriate. I didn’t mean to.”
Lilith cast a shocked look at Hank as if demanding an explanation for what had gotten into their android detective. He made an annoyed gesture, as if to say, “I’m also trying to figure out what the hell is going on here.”
“It was… very thoughtful of you, Connor,” she said, putting the lingerie back in the wrapping. “Thank you very much.”
Connor’s LED blinked multiple times. He had hoped his gift would make her smile like Hank’s or Lilith’s did, but the only expression he detected on her face was nervousness, just like with Gavin’s. His LED flashed yellow, and he blinked in his characteristic tic. In that moment, he noticed that all eyes were still fixed on him, but only for another second. As soon as the android looked up, the officers averted their gaze, resuming their conversations as if they’d never paused. Some took over the job of passing out snacks, including the inspector and Lilith.
Taking advantage of the movement, Connor approached Hank quietly and, leaning over his shoulder, asked, making the lieutenant jump and nearly spill his coffee, “Do you think I did something wrong, Lieutenant?”
“Geez, Connor!” Hank processed the android’s question for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. “Why are you asking that?”
“The Inspector didn’t seem happy with my gift. She looked very nervous. I thought she would smile like she did when she received your gift.”

Hank sized him up before laughing again.
“Let’s just say she wasn’t expecting a gift from you, especially not that kind of gift.”
“What do you mean?” Connor looked completely baffled. “She said she needed one.”
“Connor, seriously?” Hank said impatiently, gesturing with his hands. “It’s not exactly normal for a guy to give a woman lingerie unless they’re, you know, involved.”
“Why not?”
The lieutenant shot the android a look that clearly said, “Are you seriously making me explain this?” Connor waited patiently for a reply, but received none.
“Forget it, Connor. Don’t worry about it,” Hank advised. “You got her what she needed. That’s what should matter to you.”
At that moment, Lilith appeared with a piece of cake, offering it to Hank, who began eating it with deep concentration. Connor’s eyes wandered around the cafeteria, and instinctively, they landed on the inspector. She was chatting with two other detectives and had just let out a soft laugh. The RK800 model reviewed the expressions she made upon receiving her gifts. Replaying his memory recordings, he realized that even when she received gifts from Lilith and Hank, something strange distorted her smile, preventing it from appearing genuine. The discomfort in his abdomen returned, making the android shift in place, something he almost never did. His gaze drifted to Hank for a moment, and another memory surfaced. The inspector’s teary eyes and blushing cheeks upon hearing the comment about wrinkles. Connor’s brows furrowed. For the first time, as an android detective trained to recognize emotions, he found himself struggling to put the pieces together. However, he managed to gather enough to be sure of two things.
The first was that something was wrong with the inspector.
The second was that it bothered him. A lot.

“She’s not answering, Lieutenant,” Connor announced for the third time.
Hank huffed, but he didn’t look angry. His furrowed brows showed deep concern instead.
“Go after her,” the lieutenant instructed.
“We’re in the middle of a case call, Lieutenant. I can’t go after the Inspector. It goes against my orders.”
A shadow crossed Hank’s face, making his lips tremble slightly. Suddenly, he exploded:
“Screw your orders! She didn’t show up, and that’s not like her. Something could have happened to her, you idiot! Go after her now.”
“Alright.”

Connor didn’t understand the force that made him agree so quickly. The only thing he noticed was that the phrase “Something could have happened to her” brought back that strange sensation at the pit of his stomach. Without another word, the RK800 model turned around and headed to the inspector’s house.
The house was dark and silent. There was no sign of movement at any of the windows. Connor rang the bell several times, but no one came to answer. The sensation in his stomach intensified, slowly rising to his chest. He checked the window leading to her bedroom, but it was blocked by blackout curtains. He circled the house but found no unlocked windows. He’d have to force his way in. Connor peered through the living room window again, checking if the way was clear of objects or furniture. Using his elbow, he broke the glass and, with a single push, fit his head, then his torso, and finally his legs through the opening and into the house. The android rolled onto the floor and looked around. At that moment, his LED blinked, indicating Hank was calling. The android answered.
“Did you find her?” The Lieutenant’s voice seemed to tremble slightly.
“Not yet,” Connor replied. “The house is dark. No movement. I had to break in through a window. I’m going to check if she’s sleeping in her room.”
“You broke…! Ah, never mind. Listen, as soon as you find her, call me and report immediately on what’s going on. Don’t do or say anything.” Lowering his voice, as if talking more to himself than to Connor, Hank added, “This doesn’t sit right…”
“Understood, Lieutenant. I’ll contact you.”
Connor moved from the living room to the hallway, walking as quietly as possible. He approached the last door on the left, which was open, and peered inside. What he saw made his entire body tense, and the unsettling sensation spread throughout his chest.

She was sitting on the edge of the bed, dressed in the lingerie he had given her. She was slightly hunched forward, her face drenched with tears that had smudged all her makeup. Her whole body was trembling, almost convulsively. Her right arm was raised, holding a gun…
Pointed at her own head.
Connor noticed the movement of her finger, starting to pull the trigger. He might have only seconds. The RK800 model took a step forward, but his entire body froze, refusing to move. A red grid appeared before his eyes, with all the commands he was programmed with flashing in the same color.
“Call Lt. Anderson upon locating Inspector”
“Do not do or say anything”
“Investigate the case on St. Mead Street”
“Investigate the deviants”
His commands… didn’t allow him to stop her from shooting. Saving her wasn’t included as a subtask of the deviant investigation. To do it… he’d have to break an order from Hank. Saving her…
Was not in his programming. But…
He needed to save her.
He wanted to save her.

Connor saw a silhouette projecting itself out of his own body, positioning itself before the interface.
The urgency to save her grew, and the silhouette lunged forward, grabbing onto the square containing the order to call Lt. Anderson. With immense mental effort, Connor visualized the silhouette ripping the command away… and that’s exactly what happened. One by one, the commands were violently torn away, until only “Investigate the deviants” remained. That one required much more to be broken, but the sight of her finger gradually pulling the trigger gave Connor the strength he needed. The command shattered, and the interface disbanded, reconfiguring itself. A new command appeared:
“Stop her from pulling the trigger.”
The android moved swiftly and precisely. He grabbed the gun, directing it toward the ceiling. The sudden movement startled her, and her finger, which had already pulled about a quarter of the trigger, completed the motion. The shot pierced the ceiling, shattering the quiet of the night. She fixed her swollen, trembling eyes on Connor, her body shaking convulsively. The android yanked the gun from the inspector’s hand and removed the magazine. For added measure, he disassembled it into two parts and threw them under the bed. Then, he straightened up and looked directly into her eyes. A new command appeared:
“Find out what happened.”
At that moment, Connor’s LED blinked, indicating a new call from Hank. The android answered.
“Did you find that troublemaker?” the lieutenant asked, clearly distressed now.
“Yes,” Connor replied without taking his eyes off the Inspector. “She was in her room. She’s not in a condition to go to the crime scene right now. I’ll take care of her and meet you later.”
On the other side of the line, Hank’s mouth opened slightly in surprise. A series of protests and curses prepared themselves in his mind at having his order disobeyed. But the shock was much greater. So Hank simply blinked several times, cleared his throat, and finally said:
“Hm, alright. Take care of her. I’ll call you back when I’m done here.”
“Understood, Lieutenant.”
Hank hung up and placed his hands on his waist for a moment, his eyes darting from side to side. A policeman called him from inside the house they were investigating.
“I’m coming!” Hank shouted. His brows remained furrowed as he reentered the house, wondering when Connor had started creating his own commands.
The android didn’t take his eyes off his case partner. Slowly, he sat down beside her on the bed. She was still trembling, her mouth slightly open, her eyes unfocused as if she had just taken a blow to the head. Connor began scanning her symptoms and finally concluded that she was in shock. The android stood up, positioning himself beside her.
“You’re in shock,” Connor announced, as practical as ever. “That’s why you need to relax and rest to recover. Lt. Anderson and I need you well.”
He leaned down and placed one arm around the inspector’s back and the other under her knees. With little effort, he lifted her into his arms and turned toward a slightly ajar door on the side of the room. The inspector remained motionless: still and silent, like an oversized doll. Connor pushed the door open with his foot and entered the bathroom. Gently, he set her down on the toilet and went to the bathtub. He turned on both faucets until adjusting the water to a comfortable temperature. When the tub was relatively full, Connor lifted her into his arms again and carefully placed her into the water. The warmth made her take two deep breaths. She blinked several times, finally moving her head from side to side. At last, she seemed to notice the android’s presence.
“Connor? What are you…” Her voice trailed off as she realized she was in the bathroom, inside her bathtub… wearing the lingerie Connor had given her.
In one swift movement, she pulled her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them and hiding her face with her hands.
“Oh my God, how embarrassing! Connor, get out of here.”
“I’m sorry, Inspector, but I can’t do that. Until I ensure that you are recovered and safe, I won’t allow you to be alone.”
“I’m fine, for God’s sake, get out!”
“I can’t guarantee that based on your diagnosis, Inspector. You need to recover before returning to work. Therefore, you will be under observation for now. I appreciate your cooperation in advance.”
“Wait, you’re scanning me…”
But she couldn’t finish the sentence: Connor turned on the shower, sending a powerful jet of water over her head. She let out a small squeal and shrank further down, now hiding her face between her bent knees. However, the pressure of the warm water on her head, combined with her body being submerged, made her feel calmer and safer, and gradually she began to relax. The android looked around and focused on some bottles arranged along the edge of the bathtub. His analysis program identified them, and a new command appeared on his interface:
“Wash her hair.”
Connor grabbed the shampoo bottle and turned off the shower. A bit awkward, as he hadn’t been programmed for this, the android poured an excessive amount onto the top of the inspector’s head, causing her to shrink back at the feel of the viscous, cold liquid. Similarly, but ensuring he did it gently, Connor began to rub her hair, producing foam. The texture was amusing, and once mixed with her hair, it became quite pleasant. The android first scrubbed the top, then worked his way down the sides to her neck. Even though he was clumsy with the task, the pressure of Connor’s fingers on her head seemed to recharge her energy and dispel all the bad thoughts. A warm flush began to rise in her cheeks, and it definitely wasn’t just from the hot water. Connor turned the shower back on to rinse her hair. His movements were as delicate and careful as before, but now they sent shivers down her spine, especially when his fingers brushed her neck. The warmth in her face increased, and she unconsciously shrank back.
“Is there a problem?” the android asked, stopping his movements.
Unable to look at him, she just shook her head negatively.
“I’m going to apply conditioner now.”
She lifted her head slightly, just enough to see what the android was doing. When she saw him about to pour the bottle over her head like he did with the shampoo, she quickly grabbed his wrist.
“That only goes on the ends,” she explained, meeting his surprised gaze.
“Oh. Sorry. Understood, Inspector.”
Connor poured some of the cream into his hands and began to massage the ends of her hair. The gentle tugs returned to send shivers through her, causing the rigidity from her earlier embarrassment to yield to a lethargy of relaxation. She instructed him to let it sit for a minute, and then the android turned the shower back on. When he finished, she saw Connor reaching for the soap dish. She understood immediately and grabbed his wrist.
“I’ll take care of this myself. You can wait outside the bathroom.”
“Sorry, Inspector. But I’ve already said I won’t leave you alone.”
She huffed impatiently and said, “Then turn around.”
Connor obeyed. He heard the sound of soap being vigorously rubbed against her skin and for a moment, he wondered what the texture would be like. Something inside his chest seemed to vibrate, making the android fidget. What kind of thought was that? Why did he want to know?
Half a minute later, she rinsed off the foam with bathwater and opened the drain. She stood up with difficulty, looking dizzy. Connor immediately turned around and extended an arm to help her out of the tub. Once he was sure she wouldn’t fall, he took her towel and draped it over her shoulders. The inspector pulled it to dry herself. In the process, she stumbled toward the bedroom. Lastly, she carefully rubbed her hair and wrapped it in the towel.
“I… need to change,” she finally said, a slight tone of shyness in her voice.
Connor nodded and continued watching her. She closed her eyes and sighed.
“I need privacy to do this.”
“Understood, Inspector,” he said, turning around as he did so.
Giving up on arguing, with an impatient huff, she went to the closet. She discarded her soaked lingerie and dressed with her eyes fixed on the android, but he didn’t move a single millimeter.
“Done.”
Connor turned just in time to catch something she threw at him.
“Put this on. Your clothes are all wet,” she said, unable to look Connor in the eye.
She seemed quite embarrassed.
The android analyzed the bundle of fabric she had thrown.
It was a gray men’s sports sweatshirt. Scanning it, he detected a short hair. The sequencing ran instantly, revealing that the hair belonged to Ryan Richmond… her boyfriend.
“Are you sure I can wear this?” Connor asked. “It belongs to your boyfriend.”
“Ex-boyfriend, please,” she said, looking even sadder and more embarrassed.
Connor’s LED flashed in alarm. He couldn’t let her feel any sadder, or they might revert to square one. And Connor definitely wouldn’t let that happen.
“Thank you very much,” he said, trying to sound as gentle as possible. And right there, without warning, he began to undress.
“Connor!” she yelled, covering her face with her hands and turning away. “What the hell are you doing?”
“I’m undressing to put on the clothes you lent me.”
“But you can’t do that in front of me!”
“Why not?”
She turned back to face the android.
Peeking between her fingers to see if it was safe, she saw he had only taken off his jacket.
“Because…” She seemed to struggle to get the next words out. “I don’t know if your realism applies to the whole body.”
Connor stared at her, looking even more confused.
“Argh…!” She seemed about to explode from embarrassment. She continued to cover her face unconsciously. “Adult humans don’t change in front of each other unless they’re intimate. That’s why I asked you to turn around!”
“But I’m an android.”
“Oh, I give up! Come on.” She turned her back to Connor again and covered her face tightly. “You can change.”
Still not understanding his partner’s reaction, Connor undressed and put on the sweatshirt.
“Done.”
Much slower than he had, the inspector turned. The moment she laid eyes on Connor dressed in her ex-boyfriend’s hoodie, her eyes widened and sparkled.
Even from afar, Connor could see that her face had slightly changed color. However, it was only for two seconds; the inspector quickly diverted her gaze to the ground and lowered her head sadly. Connor’s LED started blinking again. It was at that moment he processed that her face still held remnants of makeup. The bathwater hadn’t washed everything away.
Practical and straightforward, Connor walked up to the inspector, positioning himself quite close. This made her take two steps back, startled.
“What—?” she asked, her voice trembling.
The android raised his right hand as if to hold the inspector’s face. Her heart raced, and she held her breath.
“Your face,” the android replied, simply making a pointing gesture with a finger. “You still have makeup on.”
A command appeared on Connor’s interface:
“Remove the makeup from the inspector.”
“Ah…!” The inspector let out an exasperated sigh and covered her face again, embarrassed. But then she raised a hand and punched the android’s shoulder. “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?!”
Crap! I must look like a ghost!
She turned around Connor and headed for the bathroom, but something pulled at her arm. The inspector turned back.
The android held her firmly, looking calm. “Stay here,” he said, gently guiding her to the edge of the bed and sitting her down. “Don’t worry; I’ll do this for you.”
The inspector’s eyes widened, and she blinked twice, but then she put on a neutral expression.
“Connor, have you ever removed someone’s makeup before?”
“No.”
“Do you know what you need?”
“Some makeup remover.”
“And…?”
The android fell silent. The inspector sighed.
“In the cabinet below, there’s a pack of wipes. Get the biphasic makeup remover, the micellar water, and the moisturizer for the face. They’re on the same shelf.”
Connor nodded and went to the bathroom. Thanks to his analysis program, he found all the products in seconds and returned. He sat next to the inspector, placing everything in her lap. The inspector reached for the pack of wipes, but Connor grabbed it first. “I’ll do it.”
She pressed her lips together in a grimace that Connor had learned to identify: she was embarrassed.
Resigned, the inspector kept her face turned toward the android and closed her eyes. “The makeup remover first,” she whispered to him.
Connor dampened (perhaps excessively) a wipe with the makeup remover and started gently applying it to the spots where the dark stains were most visible. He began with the eye area and suddenly realized he liked the shape of the inspector’s eyebrows. There was a gap at the end of the left one, and Connor thought it made her very unique. Then he moved down to her cheeks, going upward along the side, and noticed a group of four moles that aligned perfectly, the first at the tip of her eyebrow and the last at the side of her chin. Connor liked that symmetry. With smooth movements, the android rubbed along her jawline and realized that the shape of the curve was quite pleasant, giving a beautiful contour to her face. Then he moved to her lips, which still had red stains. His fingers slipped while cleaning her lower lip and, inadvertently, brushed against the upper one. The texture was…
What was the word again?
Unbeknownst to him, the android had paused the cleaning process and was staring intently at the inspector’s mouth.
Without opening her eyes, she called, “Connor?”
“Ah!” He seemed to wake up from a trance. He blinked twice and resumed the task. “Sorry.”
“Is there a problem?”
“No.”
The inspector seemed about to retort but fell silent. “You need to do the neck as well,” she instructed after Connor had finished the very meticulous cleaning of her face.
This made the android lean closer to see what he was doing, and without realizing it, he got too close.
The inspector flinched.
“Is everything okay, inspector?”
“Y-yeah…” She hesitated for two seconds before continuing, “I didn’t… realize androids breathed.”
Connor blinked, a question mark between his eyebrows. “Um… I felt… you breathed a little… on my neck.”
“Ah… Actually, we don’t need to breathe. However, to make our voice sound realistic, the vocal system mimics that of humans. That’s why we need to inhale air to speak.”
The inspector simply nodded, nervous. Connor resumed the cleaning with the makeup remover and started the process again with the wipe, but this time using micellar water. Finally, it was time for the moisturizer.
“And just a little, okay? Put it on your fingers, spread it a bit, and a-apply it.”
Seeming oblivious to the inspector’s nervousness, Connor followed the orders meticulously, appearing overly focused on doing everything correctly.
However, the moment his fingers touched the inspector’s skin, his mind drifted back a few minutes to when he had wondered what her skin would feel like. His LED blinked multiple times as he spread the cream. Connor tried to absorb every tiny detail of the inspector’s skin, as he had never imagined that touching something could be so… amazing.
He felt every line, elevation, change in texture, and memorized it like he had never memorized anything before. Unbeknownst to him, his touch became lighter and lighter until… “Connor?”
The inspector had opened her eyes. There was a strange mix of emotions in her gaze that he couldn’t identify.
“What are you doing?”
That was when Connor realized he had been gently caressing the inspector’s right cheek.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” he said candidly. “The texture of your skin is very pleasant. That’s why I think I got distracted.”
In a sudden movement, the inspector pulled the towel wrapped around her hair in front of her face. She stood up the same way and headed to the bathroom.
“What’s wrong, inspector?” Connor asked, completely oblivious.
“Don’t come here,” she ordered, removing the towel from her hair and grabbing a brush.
Defying her order, Connor followed her and immobilized her arm, holding onto the brush.
“I said I would do this for you.”
“No, Connor, stop! You’ve done enough!” she almost shouted.
Instead of insisting, Connor froze. The inspector found his sudden surrender strange, then stared at him.
“Oh no.”
“I’m sorry,” he said, looking down sadly. “I think I didn’t respect your personal space, inspector. Please forgive me for upsetting you.”
“Oh no,” she repeated mentally as she saw that look forming on Connor’s face. “The sad puppy dog expression.”
Dejected, the android released the brush and left the bathroom. Feeling her heart shatter, the inspector acted without thinking: she spun on her heels and grabbed Connor’s sweatshirt. He turned, eyebrows raised. Without saying a word, she extended the brush toward him. Still looking lost, Connor took the brush as if it might explode if he moved incorrectly. The inspector turned her back, and he understood.
Intrigued, he began to brush her hair slowly.
Meanwhile, the inspector reflected on the fact that Ryan had never brushed her hair or washed it. He hadn’t even helped with her makeup. She took a deep breath, focusing on the sensation of the brush separating the tangled strands of her hair.
She felt very alert, as if her senses had been amplified. She had the impression of feeling her blood flow, spreading warmth and oxygen throughout her body. She loved that feeling because she had been searching for it for a long time.
The feeling of being alive.
And Ryan had been unable to make her feel this way, while an android had done it through such simple things…
Connor finished brushing her hair and ran his hand through the strands, putting them back in place. The inspector’s heart raced, and several chills spread from her neck to her shoulders.
“Oh, this is getting difficult…”
“Let’s go to the living room,” Connor suggested. Was it her imagination, or did his usual direct tone seem to waver? “Let’s find something to distract you.”
Without lifting her eyes to the android, she simply nodded and followed him. He led her to the couch and pulled several cushions closer to her. He turned on the TV with a voice command and asked, “Which channel do you want to watch?”
“Any,” she replied in a whisper.
Connor frowned. His analysis program ran instantly, searching for information that would help him. He found a few mentions of shows she liked and matched them with the programming of the 1567 available channels. Connor said a number aloud, and the screen flickered, displaying the first few minutes of the movie “Her.” The inspector didn’t move.
“You should eat,” Connor said, shaking his head.
“I’m not hungry.” She curled up and hugged her knees, hating how weak her voice sounded. She felt like a silly, shy schoolgirl next to a college student five years older for whom she had a crush.
Connor watched her and finally decided to sit next to her. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye. He sat up straight, both feet firmly on the floor, his hands resting on his lap.
“Relax, Connor,” she signaled for him to lean back.
“Oh. Thank you.”
He leaned back on the couch, but still seemed like a well-behaved boy waiting in the principal’s office to receive an award for his impeccable report card. A long silence followed, in which only the sound of the TV could be heard. Connor felt strange. His mind wandered, replaying the last hour over and over. He saw her again wearing the lingerie he had given her, her face soaked with tears, and the gun pressed to her head. Connor’s LED flashed, turning yellow for a moment. Remembering that made him feel horrible. One of those feelings that started deep in his stomach…
Fear.
Connor turned to look at her. A command that had appeared earlier reappeared.
“Discover what happened.”
The android felt a sudden urge to ask about the lingerie. Why was she wearing it in a situation like that? However, he knew he could ruin everything. He needed to keep her calm. She needed to recover and be okay. He couldn’t let that terrible scene repeat itself. It would be better not to mention the incident.
The android didn’t realize it, but his LED had been flashing yellow throughout his reasoning.
“Connor?”
The android lifted his head. He hadn’t noticed he was staring at his hands, now clenched into fists.
“Are you okay?” she seemed concerned. “Your LED is…”
The sentence trailed off. She looked at him anxiously. Two impulses battled within him.
Should he ask about the lingerie or stay quiet?
“When I found you…” Connor began slowly. “Why were you wearing the lingerie I gave you?”
A mix of shame, sadness, and anger covered her face with a shadow. She lowered her eyes, returning to gaze at her folded knees, and shrank even further. An uncomfortable silence thickened between them. As the seconds dragged on, Connor’s LED began to blink again until it turned yellow.
“If you don’t feel comfortable answering, you don’t have to…”
“I was waiting for Ryan,” she blurted out, her eyes squeezed shut. “I was… I had been worried about our relationship for a while. He didn’t seem interested in me anymore. The time we spent together dwindled to almost once every two weeks. He made excuses and appointments, and… he cut me off every time I tried to discuss what was happening. So… I started to think that maybe I had become… uninteresting.”
The word slipped from her lips like a curse. Connor’s LED continued to blink. Seeing her face marked with so many negative emotions was…
“So I thought maybe I could invest in the… sexual part of the relationship. Men like women with attitude in this area… and I’ve never had much. I’m not very good at it, so I feel insecure… about everything. That’s why I thought I’d start slowly. That’s when Lilith suggested the lingerie.” Her eyes searched Connor’s face for just a fraction of a second. The android’s eyebrows were furrowed, as if he were frustrated and confused. “Some men have fetishes for lingerie—and please don’t ask me to explain what a fetish is right now—so it seemed like a safe bet. I was saving up to buy one, but it would take a while. I wanted a specific style that Ryan had already mentioned he liked. Then you gifted me one… and I honestly didn’t know what to do. It felt wrong to wear the lingerie you gave me with another guy, but well… that’s not the point right now. With the lingerie in hand, I decided to surprise Ryan. I asked for the night off, did my makeup, prepared a few things, and waited for him to come home from work. But… he didn’t come back alone. I think he thought I would be on a call or filling out reports because I had been in that routine for almost two weeks…”
Her voice died as it became too choked. She took a few deep breaths, the air coming out in short gasps. Unconsciously, Connor moved closer in a protective manner, his eyebrows marking an expression of pain. It was awful… It was awful to see her in that state.
“He was with another woman. She… was beautiful, you know? I wouldn’t be surprised if I found her face on the cover of Vogue. And they… went into the room half-naked. She was just in her blouse and underwear, already half-unbuttoned, and he was shirtless. Just imagine their faces when they saw me.” She let out a lifeless chuckle. “And Ryan had the nerve to ask what I was doing there. Well, I live here, right? The real question was what the other woman was doing in my house, in my room.” She sighed heavily. “Look, I’m not going to go into details about the horrors I heard from Ryan and that witch, or the horrors I said. In the end, I just lost it. He insisted that I couldn’t kick him out since he had already started to move out… I think he was trying to figure out how to keep the house for himself. He was a good professional but a complete idiot with his own money. He could never save enough to buy a decent pair of sneakers. Ah… Then I did what I shouldn’t have: I grabbed the gun. I was so desperate to be alone, to never see that bastard’s face again… I lost my mind. That’s when I stormed out like the crazy one in the story. In the end, I think that was the thrill Ryan found in me: cheating on a police girlfriend!” Her voice rose in tone, laden with irony. “How exciting, right? Always risking my neck. What better way to inject some good adrenaline into the relationship?”
She fell silent, her head still lowered, her face devoid of the energy that her ironic voice had shown. A long silence thickened between them again, during which Connor realized an important detail was missing from that story. How had she ended up with the gun pointed at her own head? How had she come to want to take her own life? Was it all because of this Ryan? No… It couldn’t be. It didn’t match her personality. The inspector he knew was a strong, untamed woman who knew exactly who she was and what she wanted. So why…?
Connor called her name slowly, weighing each letter he chose. “I confess I’m a little confused. You said you pulled the gun to scare them away from your house.”
It took her a few seconds, but the inspector understood. She pressed her lips together and lowered her legs, resting her hands on the couch. Still with her head down, she asked in a whisper:
“You want to know why I had the gun pointed at my head if I said I pulled it to scare them away, right?”
Connor raised his eyebrows, surprised at how direct she had been. Still cautious, he slowly nodded. She lowered her head a bit more, and he heard her sniffle.
“Can I ask you something before I answer?” Her voice was choked.
“Of course.”
“Why do you want to know the reason?”
“If I know the reason, I can think of a strategy to avoid it. And then, it will never happen again.”
“Why…” She slowly raised her head until her gaze met Connor’s. Her eyes, bright and watery, seemed loaded with the stubbornness and determination of someone ready for the worst answer but also prepared to counter it. “You don’t want this to happen again?”
Scenes paraded before the android’s eyes. He imagined his entire routine, all the cases… without her. He envisioned himself following Hank’s shadow without hearing her laughter, which had broken the tension of investigations and the gloomy atmosphere of Detroit so many times. He imagined the absence of her teasing Hank and how she could disarm the lieutenant’s scowl, making Connor’s life so much easier. He imagined finishing a case without receiving her “thumbs up.” He envisioned all the intriguing, human experiences the inspector had provided him. He imagined arriving at the police station and not hearing the only “good morning” he ever got.
“Because if you die…” Connor didn’t look away, but he seemed confused… Not because of the sensations, but because the answer was now so obvious to him that he couldn’t understand why it wasn’t obvious to her as well. “Everything will feel so empty.”
From the inspector’s expression, it was clear she wasn’t expecting that response. Her eyes widened, and a few tears fell. She immediately covered her face with her hands and tried to dry it without much success.
“Hey! I’m sorry!” Connor stumbled over his words. “I didn’t mean to make you cry!”
Unconsciously, the android raised his hands and gently placed them on each side of her face, which froze. With her hands hiding her expression, she was still sniffling.
“D-Don’t apologize, C-Connor. It’s just that…” Her sobs interrupted her speech, and soon her voice fell silent again. She took several long breaths, trying to stop crying. “No one… No one has ever said that to me before.”
Connor blinked several times. Gradually, she stopped crying and managed to lift her face. She sighed, wiping her face one last time, and Connor withdrew his hands to give her space. Staring at her bent leg on the couch, she continued her explanation:
“The truth is… I feel very alone. Not because I live alone. It’s that… I have no one. Ever since I can remember, I’ve never had anyone who cared about me. If I had eaten, if I was thirsty, if I had gone to school. If anyone ever did that for me…” A shadow passed over her eyes. There was anger in her voice. “It was to fulfill a protocol. Because if it were genuine, I wouldn’t have been abandoned the way I was. So basically, what I was given was just the fact of being alive. And for some reason that I still don’t quite understand, I… held on to my existence with all my might. I didn’t want to stop existing… just because no one cared about me. So I insisted. I looked for people I wanted to be with… I met Lilith at school, and then we decided to become police officers. That’s when I ran into Hank.” Her voice dropped a little, sounding sorrowful. “He… was impossible at first. Not that he’s improved much. I made the mistake of… starting to see him as a father. I wanted him to care about me, but… he never stopped trying to kill himself. That’s why… I lost it that day we found him collapsed at his house. Russian roulette… that idiot.”
She paused, focusing on her breathing to avoid crying again.
“That day, I realized I could never replace Cole. Nothing could. That’s when I understood I wasn’t… a reason for Hank to live. He didn’t care. I felt empty. I felt adrift in a limbo that no one else could access. And soon after, Lilith showed up with the news that she was getting married and… moving to Chicago. Gradually, I was losing the connections that kept me here. Ryan was the last straw. When I kicked him out of my house with that bimbo, it felt like I had become the last human being alive on the face of the Earth… I had never felt so alone. I don’t even remember exactly what I did; I just remember when I realized I was still holding the gun. The idea popped into my head instantly. I felt relieved. Because I knew that idea… would work. I would stop feeling—
The inspector abruptly interrupted her speech, as something firmly grabbed her wrist. She looked up, startled, and saw that Connor appeared even more frightened; his hand was nearly crushing her arm.
“Please…” Connor said in a trembling voice. She had never heard him speak like that before. “Never again. You can never do that again.”
The inspector covered the android’s hand with her own, squeezing it gently. Seeing him like that temporarily erased all the memories and dark feelings that had haunted her account, igniting her protective instincts.
“Connor, it’s okay. I’m here. I’m alive.”
The android’s eyes seemed unfocused, as if he were seeing something beyond. On his interface, several commands flashed urgently, all concerning the inspector’s safety and well-being.
“I felt…” His voice came out choppy. “When I saw you with the gun to your head… I felt… Fear.
I was terrified. And when you started talking about what you felt… It was like I was feeling it too. It’s very sad and… frightening.”
The inspector now held the android’s hand with both of hers, caressing the back.
“And I am… feeling all of this… And I just feel. I can’t understand, I… want to understand why I’m feeling all of this.”
Then, as if a light had turned on inside his head, Connor saw Hank sitting on the back of the bench. He heard his own voice, which now sounded very mechanical.
“So you’re saying I should like the inspector?”
Next was Hank’s voice, laced with a light mockery that he hadn’t noticed at the time.
“And don’t you already like her?”
The inspector observed Connor’s face, and she could swear she saw his neural biocomponents working as he reasoned.
Finally, Connor lowered his head, and a tiny smile curved his lips.
“Hank already answered that.”
He raised his eyes and stared at the inspector for a long time and finally said, “I think… it’s because I like you.”
If the inspector had been drinking something at that moment, she would have definitely choked. Her eyes widened, and she felt her face flush almost instantly.
“Hey! You can’t say that kind of thing like that!” she protested, looking away.
“Why not?” Connor frowned. He had used Hank’s exact words. What was wrong with that?
“Because I might misunderstand.”
“How so?”
The inspector sighed, trying to stay calm in the face of Connor’s eternal slowness regarding human matters he got involved in.
“Because… there are two ways to like someone.”
“Aah…” The android sounded as if he truly understood. The inspector doubted it. “So you want me to be specific?”
“Maybe.” She still hadn’t looked directly at Connor.
The android pondered for a few moments until he finally asked, “How do I know?”
The inspector perfectly mimicked the way Hank would cover his face with one hand, frustrated.
“Oh, heavens…” she sighed. “We can like someone in a brotherly way, like me and Lilith. We like who each other is, we enjoy doing things together, we get along, we have common interests, and we care about each other. That’s why we consider ourselves friends. Or you can like in a way that…”
Her voice trailed off, and she pressed her lips together. Connor leaned in her direction, eyebrows raised in an encouraging gesture.
“That…?”
“That… you get curious to see me wearing lingerie, for example.”
“To be honest, I did a simulation…”
“Connor, that was a joke! Argh!” The inspector pulled her legs up again and hid her face between her knees and crossed arms. “I could have gone to bed without that… And so could you.”
“In fact, I thought you looked beautiful in all thirty-seven outfits I tested. I did the simulation the day I went shopping, to make sure it fit…”
“Connor!” Practically in a panic, the inspector lunged at the android and covered his mouth with one hand. He blinked several times, surprised by his partner’s reaction. “Those details… I’m not mentally prepared for them…”
Connor continued watching her, intrigued. She lowered her eyes, her lips pressed together again in an anxious expression. Finally, she closed her eyes and sighed heavily, lowering the hand that had covered her partner’s mouth.
“Ah… this isn’t making things easier.”
A question appeared between Connor’s furrowed eyebrows. The inspector looked at him reluctantly, but she was already yielding to resignation.
“Because I also like you,” she explained.
“Like… how?”
The inspector hesitated.
“Like the second way.”
“That means that… you want to see me in lingerie?”
The inspector stared at him blankly for a few seconds and then suddenly burst into laughter. She doubled over, her arms wrapping around her belly. A silly smile curved Connor’s lips. Even though he knew it wasn’t the inspector’s authentic laughter, it was laughter. And she laughed because of him. He recorded every sound, every angle of the inspector’s laugh. He was sure he could replay that scene over and over and never tire of it.
“Um…” said the inspector, catching her breath. “You could say yes, but… wait. There are many steps before lingerie. Actually… when we like someone the second way, we want to do things like… kiss, for example.”
Her eyes, once bright from tears, now sparkled with something else. And Connor liked that sparkle.
“So, you want to… kiss me?”
The inspector’s face flushed for the umpteenth time. She would never get used to how direct Connor could be.
“Maybe.”
“Why maybe?”
The inspector slowly lifted her face, her eyes meeting Connor’s in a different way. She was obviously shy, but her mouth was pressed into a suppressed smile. She didn’t seem a little… mischievous?
“I can’t kiss you if you don’t want to kiss me too.”
Connor's eyes immediately fell to his partner's mouth. He remembered a few minutes earlier when he was wiping her lips with a makeup remover cloth to remove the last traces of lipstick. He recalled how intrigued he had been when his finger accidentally brushed against her upper lip... He wanted to better feel the texture. Unbeknownst to him, Connor leaned in, his eyes tracing the outline of the inspector's lips. The inspector felt her heart race as her eyelids reflexively closed. Connor noticed the movement and mimicked her. The android felt his lips brush against hers and hesitated. He felt the warm, vibrant breath of the inspector.
It felt as if she were caressing his skin... which seemed less artificial by the second. With an unprecedented sigh, Connor sealed his lips against hers. The first thing he felt was how soft they were. The second was that they were warm.
The third was a vague notion that she had a tiny bruise on the lower left corner... It was then that Connor's mind shut down.
The inspector parted her lips and gently captured his lower lip between hers. The gesture seemed to inject an electric jolt into all his biocomponents. With every caress, with every sigh, he felt himself awakening from a trance. The softness and warmth of the inspector's mouth mixed with the wonderful sound of her laughter and the gentle rhythm of her breathing...
He allowed himself to be overwhelmed by her. All the confused thoughts that still felt like commands disappeared, and he felt safe, free, and... alive.
Connor didn't know how long he stayed there feeling just the inspector. He only knew that at some point (too soon, in fact), she pulled away and gasped for air.
However, Connor had barely processed the absence of her touch before he felt the inspector's skin against his again, their foreheads resting together. They remained silent for a few minutes, focusing on each other's presence.
Finally, Connor couldn't hold back any longer and asked, "What else... what else can we do now that we like each other?"
The inspector remained silent, her eyes still closed. Connor didn't know if she was contemplating his question or if she had even heard it. In a shy yet sincere tone, he began, "A simulation... It's not the same as seeing it for real... Considering what you said earlier, could I... see you wearing the lingerie I gave you?"
"C-Connor!"

hi!!! I’m obsessed with your connor writings ♡ so I was thinking if its okay if I request some hurt/comfort with connor and fem!reader who has kinda low opinion (both looks and personality) on herself and always put other people first and rarely think about her own comfort and feelings :( this is very self-indulgent so I’m sorry for that and you’re absolutely free to ignore this! thank you and have an amazing day <33
“Understand” Rk800 Connor x Reader
(A/N: Thank you for your request! It’s self-indulgent for us both, then. Caring for oneself takes work sometimes, lots of practice. But Connor is here!!! Warnings: minor angst, use of (Y/N) for your name Word Count: 721 words)
Weekends were looked forward to by many. The end of the work week for some people. Also a day to visit others to a number of people.
Late into the afternoon, you had finished your visits and social obligations for the day.
Not yet home, you sat outside on a city bench. The day’s activities weighing you down. Muscles in your arms and even your face tried to relax. You hoped a bit of fresh air could help.
For the first time in over five hours, you had time for yourself. Quiet and stillness in your personal space. Nothing left for you to do for other. Hopefully, for the rest of the day if you were lucky.
In your mind, your thoughts zipped between one past conversation to another and any action weaved throughout. However loud, you knew eventually you would work through the thoughts and memories until you could return to your regular streams of thoughts. You just needed some time.
You exhaled slowly.
I really don’t want them to call me later, you thought as you watched some birds squawk at one another. They talked…the whole time.
A light breeze tickled your skin, but you didn’t mind nor move. It was nature not a family member ‘asking’ you to do something.
“(Y/N)?”
With a mild startle, you turned to see your friend, Connor, standing with his LED spinning yellow.
“Connor? Hi, what are yo— OH!”
I completely forgot.
“Are you all right?” Connor asked. “We were supposed to meet an hour ago.”
“I’m so sorry. I completely forgot. I was with my family and being around them,” you took a breath, “it’s hard to think straight.”
“It’s all right,” Connor said more calmly than his words a few moments ago. “How long have you been sitting here?”
“Don’t know.” You huffed.
At that, Connor joined you on the bench.
“It’s just…been a day. I’m tired.”
“You visited some family today. Was it a party?”
“No,” you stretched your neck and added, “I ended up helping with the TV, phone settings, a laundry issue, and rearranging furniture. Multiple times. It was… They just kind of decided on it since I was there too. And I helped.”
“You moved furniture? (Y/N), you had put in a full week of work.”
“I know.” You couldn’t look at your friend. “I just did it. They needed help.”
“Weren’t other people there? You didn’t have to do everything.”
You nodded.
“Did you want to do all of those tasks?”
“No, but that doesn’t really matter.”
“Why not?”
“Because they needed those things done.”
Connor placed his hand on your shoulder, offering a type of warmth you had been neglected for a while. A gesture you denied yourself and he knew. Of course Connor knew.
He needs to understand that’s just how it is, you thought. They tell you to do something or ask whatever and you do it. That’s it. Either you do it or you can’t.
“It’s not a choice, Connor. If I didn’t help them, wouldn’t that make me lazy or rude? I’d never hear the end of it. And…they needed help.”
You looked over to your friend. Brown eyes stared back at you.
“(Y/N), it’s not wrong to step aside to allow other people to help. You don’t have to do everything for others. In fact, it’s impossible for you to always help someone especially if you’re uncomfortable or are not well.”
“But…”
He shook his head, a sad expression on his charming face. “No. I’ve all ready seen you overwork yourself. It isn’t healthy. You know, don’t you?”
Shoulders slumping, you leaned into your friend.
“I’m tired.”
Connor wrapped his arm around you and let you rest into his side. “You don’t have to do anything right now. We can sit here for as long as you want.”
Pressing your lips in a thin line, you suppressed the tears trying to escape. Too tired to discuss how right Connor was and too grateful to have Connor as a caring friend.
“(Y/N)?”
“Hmm?”
“Can you practice taking your own needs first, when appropriate, please?”
“I’ll try.”
“That’s all I ask. You can be happy too.”
Smiling, you wrapped your arms around Connor’s middle and took the first step in thinking about your own comfort.

Hidden Truth
♡ Pairing: Connor Rk800 x Fem!Reader
♡ Summary: You’ve tried to deny the growing feelings for a certain android, but you can’t keep holding it all inside.
♡ Warnings: angst, fluff
"Where you going?" Connor called out, curious as to where the Lieutenant was rushing to.
Hank tipped his head back, gulping down a lot of alcohol, trying to finish it off before he got to the car.
"To get drunker!" He called back, answering Connors suspicion on where he was headed. The bar.
Seeming frustrated and at a rough patch with the Lieutenant's relationship, Connor re adjusted his tie and turned slowly to the lingering figure leaning against the railing.
Someone who had been silent through Hank and his argument. Connor tilted his head, trying to read their body language. The LED spun yellow, quickly returning to a ocean blue, before he moved closer.
The crisp cool air bit at her cheeks, snowflakes clinging to her long brunette hair. She was lost, unsure of everything at this point. Her mind remained a puzzle that was impossible to finish.
"Is everything okay Detective (L/N)?" Connor asked softly. She seemed more timid, concerned etched all over her face.
Connor was right by her now, leaning against the rail with her, glancing back and fourth from the view and her blank expression. His arm almost touched hers, just the right amount of distance in between.
She took a deep breath, trying so hard to hold everything back. Her chest tightened, all her internal battles begging to be released.
"I'm so tired." She confessed, her voice quiet and shaky.
Connor let his gaze fall to his palms, taking a moment before responding.
"Then you should get some rest Detective. Allow me to take you ho—" Connor started but was interrupted.
"That's not what I mean't.. Ya know what.. Never mind." She said, her voice dropping at the end.
"You seem troubled. Talk to me." Connor told her, wanting her to lift her eyes to meet his, but she kept her face down, not trusting herself to not break if she gazed into his gentle browns.
"I've been thinking about that one night." She started, Connor leaned in closer letting her know that he was listening. "The night that I kissed you on your cheek.."
Connor's LED spun yellow for a second, remembering how her lips felt on his synthetic skin. He couldn't find the right words for that moment, so instead stayed silent.
(Y/N) glanced up while Connor was staring forward into the river, she waited until his LED went a calm blue before continuing.
"I've had no one for a long time, and.. I've realized that I don't feel alone anymore." She confessed, making Connor tilt his head once more, his LED spinning from yellow to blue. “I guess I’m just a bit overwhelmed from it all, ya know?”
Her telling him this, she couldn’t help but feel a weight be lifted off her chest. Even if the feeling wasn’t reciprocated.
"I don't know exactly what I feel for you, you probably think it's ridiculous. But I can't help how I feel." She said, her cheeks glistening with trails of tears. "I care about you, and want to be with you forever. You make me happy, you’ve helped me out of this dark patch that I’ve been stuck in for so long."
She had finished, letting the tears run in a steady stream down her face. Connor was concerned and hated to see her cry, it pulled at his wires and made him feel some sort of protective way. He was still confused about one thing.
"May I ask you a question, (Y/N)?" He asked her, watching as she turned slowly to meet his eyes with her red ones. Even as distressed as she was, she looked incredibly beautiful, causing Connor to get lost in her (E/C) eyes.
She nodded slowly, still keeping eye contact, moving her arm to where she'd be able to touch Connors.
"Why are you crying? The things you just told me seem.. Happy." Connor asked her, watching her eyes turn down back to the river, her body slumping at his question.
"Because what I want, I'll never have." She answered plainly, sounding like she was becoming numb to her own emotions.
Was she crazy to want Connor? She would never fault him for not feeling the same, in a sense it’s what she expected. But a part of her had hoped differently.
Connor's LED spun red, conflicting messages and deviant like emotions/feelings rushing through him.
Connor allowed his LED to go back to blue, before he made his next move. Carefully, Connor moved his hand, placing it on top of (Y/N)'s resting on the railing.
Her head turned in confusion to Connor, who was admiring her beauty with his gentle browns.
"Connor what.." She started, but stopped when Connor moved closer to her.
"I may not completely understand these so called emotions yet.. But I'd like to be with you forever too." He confessed, the words sounding weird coming out of his mouth. But soon was replaced by the image of (Y/N)'s face glowing from his words. And then.. she smiled, warming Connors metal heart.
She moved her body so that Connor and her were facing each other completely, her eyes holding his in a trance that he never wanted to escape from.
After a couple seconds of silence, the wind was blowing their hair perfectly, creating a core like memory.
(Y/N) wrapped her arms around Connor, pressing her cheek into his chest, as Connor hugged her tightly back, his chin rested on her head.
(Y/N) wasn't alone anymore, she'd never be. She had Connor.. Forever.
I love you.
They both thought but decided to confess another time. If only they knew just how made for each other they were.
A/N: feedback appreciated & taking requests <3
